Aren’t you tired of complaining about DS?

    Just don’t tunnel

Aren’t you tired of complaining about BT

    Just don’t camp

Aren’t you tired of complaining about Unbreakable?

    Just don’t slug

Know whats funny? All 3 of those are far easier and take far less time than pissing about the map looking for totems

Well I can speak for 2 of these. People aren't complaining about DS because they're tunnelling, it's the fact that they either have 60 seconds where the killer can't do anything because lockers and unbreakable exist, or the survivors played so badly that the killer managed to down another survivor, hook them, find the other survivor that was originally hooked and get DSed. Apparently they were tunnelling that guy that got unhooked 50 seconds ago and therefore must be punished for it.

Unbreakable is fine but when it's used alongside DS and in certain situations it's just ridiculous. 60 seconds of nonsense where the killer can't do anything to you. Awesome. Not slugging is not a way to counter unbreakable, it's a way to lose because against a good team you literally cannot win unless you slug as that is now a killer's only way of applying pressure.

Idk why anyone's complaining about BT though, if anything that perk needs to be buffed to a distance from the hook in order for it to activate, rather than a TR requirement.

  • ...are you new to this game? Lmao if you are then welcome, and enjoy this feeling of intense gameplay while you can.

Unless you're baiting here, in which case you got me. But a lot of people like survivor more now because it's a lot less stressful than killer if you're playing to win. As survivor you can literally lay back and not really think about the match and still pip or escape. I personally think killer is more fun because you're constantly doing something, be it looking for survivors, or setting traps etc. Survivors have way too much downtime and dull moments for me to consider them the more fun role.

  • Billy isn't overpowered on a small map like coal tower, nor is he too easy to play on that map. He'll basically be the same as he ever was, just better on the maps that were bad for every killer like coldwind and red forest.

  • ...lmao of course you're a Wraith main.

On a side note I have never felt the need to tunnel or camp. It's boring as hell and probably the most uninteractive thing you can do in this game besides playing Spirit. If you really want to do it go ahead, but know that you'll improve your killer game more, and probably have more fun, when you know how to deal with survivors while not camping and tunnelling.

And killers are always complaining about why they see so many mean comments directed towards them...

  • Darn, hitting a survivor on the hook is going to causethem to derank! That must be horrible for them! They should really start playing more optimally in order to rank up as killer and get far better survivors and matches that are definitely much more fun and enjoyable!

  • Size difference. They have the same lunge distance, but Demo is a big boi so he doesn't move as "fast" or as far as Freddy who looks like he's skating along the ground at Mach 5 for a split second. Oni probably has the most deceiving looking lunge though. From the survivor side it looks like the Oni is 5ft away from you because his sword looks so small compared to the rest of him.

  • Fun to play and an absolute chore and snoozefest to play against. Can't really say much else about him other than he's a good killer. Maybe mid-high tier at best.

  • If I had a penny for every time you said you don't mean to start an argument or antagonize anyone...

  • I still haven't gotten BBQ on my Oni yet. Trust me I'd be playing him all day if I did but I've spent nearly 2 million on him and still haven't got BBQ. I have all the other perks I want on him at lvl 3 but because this video game is perfect in every single way and the grind definitely isn't abysmal, I haven't seen BBQ once

  • I think the changes I'd settle with for NOED is to instantly expose survivors the moment the last gen goes, and to get rid of the speed boost. Literally all that needs to happen to that perk imo, so it's not a cheap way to get a free down without any time for survivors to prepare for it. If it exposed right away, you could actually play safer and play around it. And the speed boost that NOED gives you is also stupid af.

In reality, I want this garbage perk removed from the game, but I'd settle for some changes that would actually make it less tedious and cheap.

  • Spirit. Glorified guessing simulator since 2018.

  • Spirit, hag or Freddy. Honestly I wanna put all three in the number one spot so I'm going to do that. Hag is straight up boring In terms of playstyle and it's just not for me. I'm bad with hag but I can see how one could be good with her, I personally don't like it. She doesn't come close to spirit or Freddy though. Complete one trick ponies, their powers have no interesting tech or mechanics, you play the same way everytime because their powers are so shallow and require no thought to use. They're so simple that they're just not fun, there's nothing exciting or fun about them at all.

  • BBQ, enduring. BBQ because I just couldn't see myself ever not running it, and enduring because respecting pallets is for nerds.

For survivor, kindred and borrowed time.

  • Honestly your mum would be doing you a favour since lower ranks give you a higher chance of getting better matches

  • @Feiten said:

Depends dearie. I used to at low ranks when I had low ranked perks and add-ons and no way to make builds.

I would dodge assumed swf groups who all picked same char and wore same clothes

I dodged groups with all toolbox. Or all flash light.

My limit to flashlights was 2 anymore and im out.

I rarely dodge now. But I still avoid too many flashlights. This is on ps4 BTW

Flashlight lobbies are literally the easiest games as killer. Everyone wants to flashlight save which leads to free downs, and everyone wants to blind at pallets which, if you equip lightborn, is also a free hit. I just don't see what killers have issues with when survivors have flashlights.

  • image.png

    My opinion.

Huntress, Freddy, Oni and Hag are all about the same imo when played to their best and if the map's right

  • They're pretty equal, but they're each better in different ways.

Spirit requires half a brain-cell to play effectively, whereas if you wanted to play Billy as well as you want to play Spirit, you need to put in more effort.

Billy is definitely the more balanced and fair killer out of the 2 as well, but he can make a game boring if all you do with him is wait until someone gets unhooked then immediately sprint back to the hook. That kind of playstyle and instasaw and pop etc aren't the most fun things in the world.

Both of them don't need addons at all for most survivors. But if I'm being honest, not having addons as Billy against a lot of the good survivors can be a pretty bad experience.

Imo Spirit is better overall since she'll down people much more consistently, and she's good on every map. If you're on a coldwind map, Lery's, ironworks it can be pretty tough as Billy.

  • This isn't the only bug that they've fixed, but then it came back. I have absolutely no idea how you can re-break something and not have the tools to simply fix it again with the same method you used before but...hey they did it. The devs continue to amaze me.

  • I don't think any of you even read the post. This wouldn't necessarily be a nerf. He wants survivors to be required to do 2 boxes (Or 3 with an addon). That's a BUFF, it makes them consistent, because at 1 box it's useless, and at all boxes it wins you the game. 2 boxes slows down survivors just enough, and having that guaranteed, consistent slowdown every game would be a good thing. If you need survivors to touch more than 2 boxes then Idk what to tell you other than to learn to capitalise off Pig's slowdown mechanics and learn what to do with her.

  • I'm not playing this game until this next update comes out. Then I'll see if this update is enough to keep me. I'm talking about the update in general because you know 100% that alongside the map reworks there will be at least 2 other game-breaking survivor bugs or killers on release of this patch, it's just which killer/s will be broken and what kind of bugs will break the survivors lmao. I'm not getting my hopes up for a potential Myers or Nurse fix either, but I don't mind, Doctor, Oni and Demo exist so I'm happy on that front.

  • Well if he were to have 115% ms he would get 32m terror radius by default, so there's nothing you're "willing to give up" there, kind of a redundant point.

An audio notification would be pointless. Good Deathslinger players don't aim down the sights, we quickscope with him. This makes it so there is literally no time or wind-up for a survivor to react to, it's all a prediction, and having an audio cue a fraction of a second before he fires won't help at all.

Dunno about the last one, I always thought STBFL wasn't particularly amazing on him to begin with even though so many other people think it is, for some reason.

Tbh he doesn't need nerfs. As much as I dislike playing against him he's not a top-tier killer or a broken one by any means, I still think Huntress is better than him. He doesn't need buffs either. His effectiveness is ultimately decided on how good the killer is at aiming and I can live with that. You at least need to put in some work for him to be good, he's not like Spirit or Freddy where you just exist and you do well with them.

i have a hard time using whispers do you know any other good perks that are good on her discordance for exampel?

Nurse's or I'm All Ears, probably. Or if you really wanted a gen perk for some reason in 2020 then pop or corrupt. But I'd definitely recommend learning how to use whispers properly. I don't use it, but once you know how whispers works it's invaluable to you as a killer.

  • The "hide chat" icon exists for a reason. If you are sensitive to insults it's best to hide the chat and close your DMs.

Also survivors insulting for free? DbD swear box when.

  • I use shadowborn, infectious, BBQ and agitation/Nurse's depends on what I'm feeling. Basically I blink around, I go whack, people go "AAAH" with infectious and if I find someone else quickly I whack them too. That's it. She doesn't need slowdown perks or gen perks of any kind imo, they make her pretty boring to both play as and play against.

  • Personally, I'd want kindred for survivors and (toggleable) shadowborn for killers.

I wouldn't ever call Scratched Mirror bad at all. People need to stop saying it's only good on indoor maps because not everyone is spinning their camera around until they see you. No terror radius and 32m wall hacks is very strong, so no bloodlust and EW1 m/s is the big trade off. Scratched has freelance perk usage while Vanity can't be ran without PWYF.

It really is only good on indoor maps though. You're not gonna get anything done on an outdoor map. They're too big, survivors can literally hold W away from you and you'll never catch up. The whole meme of "gen completed before the killer could get to it" couldn't be more real if Mikey had to haul his fat 105%-lookin ass across mother's dwelling for the entire match

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Currently I am getting some BPs, so I use: BBQ, Enduring, Whispers, Monitor.

Usually I play with Brutal Strength instead of BBQ.

Wonder where I've seen that build before...kappa.

  • This definitely could happen if you weren't really playing to get out. I'm assuming it's a SWF because that's the only way you could explain the ranks. Also assuming you flashlight blinded, stunned the killer with DStrike, got your deliverance off, maybe unhooked a few people, but unsafely since no BT and you were against a Bubba...yeah you'll definitely get a lot of points for that, but these aren't actions that help your emblems all that much so you got penalised for it.

  • Monitor, enduring, BBQ, I'm All Ears. Then the only add-ons that are worth running on her are combat straps and video tape. Slowdown perks are useless enough now so you might as well be good at chasing and putting all of your faith, hopes and dreams into trap RNG.

  • @HellDescent said:

Not for me. He has no map pressure; huntress has bigger fow since she doesn't ads and with huntress you at least get 5 hatchets, so there is more room for error. His spear seems to be travelling slower then the hatchet. You can down multiple people a lot easier with huntress

The speargun travels at the same speed as a fully charged hatchet, so if anything it's faster, but the visual feedback of his spear isn't as big or pronounced as a hatchet.

  • NOED is lame and stupid, but it's also a trash tier perk that bad killers think is good. The most it'll usually do for them is get 1 pity kill at the end of a match when they failed to complete their objective in time. The reason why it's usually only 1 kill is because the remaining survivors will just book it out of the exit gates anyway. And also a lot of the lower rank killers who run it will get a down, hook and then camp until death. It gives the other 3 survivors more than enough time to find the totem and then bomb the hook with BT to get a save.

  • I don't really like perks and abilities that have little interaction between survivors and killers. Increasing move speed is a way of decreasing that interaction because ######### is a survivor gonna do against a killer moving at 130% move speed? This would also be quite broken at the end of the game if you could just patrol 3 gens with this speed...you could almost consider it holding a game hostage if the killer wanted to do that

  • @PhantomSpud said:

I think that they should add a perk other than small game or a map add-on or something to help find dull totems to make it a bit easier to deal with NOED but it shouldn't be too strong so its still fair for killers

Detective's hunch...and small game is more than fine for finding totems. I can find them all within a couple of minutes.

  • I like the music a lot too, but from a gameplay POV it's really unintuitive and confusing to listen out for. I also wish he had some music for when you get hooked/get a hook. It's kinda awkward that it transitions to silence right away.

  • Honestly the game's doing you a favour by not ranking you up.

  • @blue4zion said:

I wouldn't hate something like shining a flashlight on a phase walking spirit will reveal them for as long as the light is on them, that would actually be pretty neat.

More use for flashlights, another counter to Spirit.

Would be like playing Luigi's Mansion against the ghost types that were invisible and you had to find them using the mirror or the projector lmao.

  • Survivor aura reading whilst someone is on the hook.

A chase indicator (basically the obsession icon, and the real obsession will have red entity claws instead or something)

    Totem counter

BT indicator in-game (maybe show the survivor holding a stopwatch, or have an icon next to their name in the corner)

And then we change a few killers around, buff a bunch of stuff on their end and we're done.

  • The whole "learn as you play" and improving from mistakes doesn't really apply to DbD.

Example: a sweaty Billy or Spirit player finds a baby survivor, downs them instantly, they get hooked, saved, downed again, repeat until death (because most of the insecure killer mains on here swear that "finding and taking out the weaker links" is the only way they can win). What did the survivor learn from that? And how is them getting demolished like that any fun? It's a guaranteed way to make sure we get as little new players as possible.

While DbD is a very casual game we need the ranking system so new players can play against each other and have that initial experience where it's actually fun and different and scary. Because the game we play is quite a bit different to the game new people play.

  • @AvisDeene said:

His most powerful ability is nodding his head. I causes the survivors to lower their guard and attempt to pet it.

    3x.gif

  • Restrict the distance that actually lets you 1-shot with the hatchet and then it's balanced (20m or further). That's all that needs to be done. This'd be balanced because it's not particularly difficult to dodge a long rang hatchet like that, and the Huntress gets rewarded for having a good aim. Idk what some people are smoking in here, but most iri hatchet downs are from very close range, or point-blank which, unless you're going against a literal vegetable, you're not going to dodge. It's the one add-on that is objectively overpowered. You can make an argument for addons like tuning guide and scalped topknot but with iri head you really can't.

    1. My first game will have hiccups and stutters no matter what. No idea what that's about but it's there I guess. It's fine after the first 10 minutes though.
    2. My ping has been surprisingly good recently. Highest it's been it's probably 100ms.
    3. Quick Draw isn't a hard achievement, it's just annoying and kind of worthless imo. I disagree with Mandy on this, because this achievement is not challenging, nor is it rewarding or fun to work towards it. I like achievements being fun rather than a grind.
  • Yep. At this point they seriously need to remove the perk tiers, or at least remove 1. It's literally only there to pad out progression to a ridiculous degree. I started playing the beginning of last year and I'm not even close to getting all my killers and survs to level 50, let alone prestige 3 (I only just got Laurie to prestige 3-50 and still don't have all teachables on her. I don't even have all the killer and survivor teachables unlocked either.)

I live for the day where we can just play the game and not have all this padding that's ultimately destroying the player experience.

  • It's competitive in the same way a Nintendo party game is competitive. Yeah you can get better at something like Mario Kart or Mario Party and play to win, but ultimately you probably won't consistently win by the same amount, or even consistently win at all, because there's a lot of randomness and catch-up mechanics to make sure everyone stays near the centre of the action, because this is what Nintendo thinks is the most fun for everybody (And they're right). It kinda applies to DbD because there's way too much RNG and jank one-sided stuff in this game for it to be competitive. Eg a "competitive" 4-man SWF would win everytime against any killer that isn't a sweaty Nurse, who would instead probably kill them all in 2 minutes flat... Bloodlust, strong loops, random generation of tiles and pallets are also factors that can turn the favour to one side far too easily. The nature of this game is unbalanced in its own right, and it's ultimately just a silly casual party game that you shouldn't take seriously and instead just try to have fun with.

  • I used to be a Myers main. Now? That killer doesn't exist in my selection screen (no I'm serious I literally blacked out his killer portrait to remind me that he's been removed from the game)

As long as dedicated servers are a thing, Myers will be broken and that's just that. He won't ever be fixed unless the Devs are willing enough to go through and fix him from the ground up.

Apparently though, his stalking works fine if you play at 60fps but the problem with that is you have to play at 60fps so... yeah.

  • Yet another bait post and a throwaway account...weird.

    add ons make me sick

The only add-on that makes me sick is Clown's VHS p*rn

I'm scared to even think about what's on that tape...

  • A lot of people aren't saying spirit is OP because in the grand scheme of things she isn't, she's just incredibly boring to play against for almost everyone considering she has 0 real counterplay and it boils down to guessing based off nothing until you eventually die. Not very rewarding or interactive gameplay imo. Aesthetically I can agree, her crackling sound effects and the way her idle animation looks is really cool looking. Fun to play as though? Well that's up to you. If you think she's fun to play great, I personally like more interaction and interesting chases when I play killer and Spirit isn't about that. I liked her when I started playing killer for the first time, same as Freddy. But then they grew really stale because not only was I getting so much value out of such little effort, their powers kinda fell flat and I realised there's nothing unique about them and I was only having fun because they were strong.

But anyway rambling aside welcome back, this next midchapter update might be enough to keep you playing for longer this time

  • @Rayzacks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/144343/spirit-rework

The thing is that when you are in chase the pallets are totally unsafe because of the 50/50 guess and that's a huge problem in the gameplay. Spirit is in my opinion way too unbalanced.

She's not really unbalanced or overpowered overall though. In a 1v1 absolutely, but she will still have a pretty tough time against good survivors. Same goes for Deathslinger.

  • The grind for new players now is just absurd. Takes hundreds of not thousands of hours to even unlock the perks you need or want, and that's even assuming you bought the licensed dlc. They need to cut this god awful grind down with something. Hell even doubling the rewards for dailies or introducing harder weekly challenges that pay out more could be an option.

  • I've never seen anyone call a killer bad for waiting out a 360 but I guess that's a thing now. I have had it happen to me though. I go for a spin and I just see the killer back up slightly, wait a moment and proceed to down me. Couldn't stop laughing at how dumb it made me feel.
