  • I mean, I guess? She's not as difficult to play as people make her out to be but in the context of this game she's the hardest. The difficulty ratings should be changed anyway. For example I would put Billy in the medium/hard difficulty, Wraith as easy, Trapper as Medium, Freddy as easy, Michael medium...etc

What’s your definition of a counter? They’re pretty strong counters imo

My definition of a counter is something on the UI that goes from 5 to 1...as in, actually counting the amount of totems left.

    Just an idea...don't hurt me

Why not make every match 100% have an obsession, even if nobody has obsession perks?

100% support this idea. Killers and survivors will also get guaranteed obsession-related BPs during the match too.

Errrr you have totem counters.... Detective Hunch, Small Game, Maps.....

...A literal totem counter, like we have a counter for gens....

  • Who said ranking up as killer was hard? Lmao, all ranks are right now is a way of showing how much you've played this month. You can get to red ranks within 2 weeks of just starting the game as both killer and survivor, it literally means nothing.

  • Well the only issue I have with NOED is that it's cheap and comes out of nowhere, and survivors have no idea it's coming, or if all the totems have even been cleansed. All we need for killers and survivors is a totem counter and that would be a good enough change for almost everyone.

  • Well considering his power is literally designed for snowballing and slugging, and slugging is the only way of having some kind of pressure now it's pretty necessary imo.

  • No idea what people are smoking in this thread but Deathslinger is definitely one of the best killers in this game. Why learn a killer that has fair counterplay and a windup to her ranged attack when you can play one that is so fast survivors are unable to react to it, leaving virtually no counterplay? He's like spirit but requires some actual effort in that regard.

  • @SmarulKusia said:

I’m just going to say this - Dead Hard is a trash exhaustion perk and relying on it to get you out of sticky situations will more likely kill you than save you.

doctor is trash too, but I hate seeing dead hard being praised as this saviour of all when it’s a bad perk

Ah yes, a perk that corrects a mistake that the killer can do quite literally nothing about is so trash. If you're using it to dodge a swing then yeah it's not a good perk because of the servers, but when you use it for distance to get to a window or pallet like most competent players do you can't do anything to counter it unless you're deathslinger or maybe Huntress. You're literally getting outplayed by a single push of a button.

  • The only thing I've noticed that's wrong with Oni is that the camera spins around in 1 frame in a random direction the moment you slam with demons strike. It's actually so disorienting that it gives me a headache and this killer is now unplayable to me.

Finally someone has the guts to call wraith out on his bullshit. My personal nerf idea is he has to pass a skillcheck when cloaking or uncloaking and if he fails he drops the bell on his foot and dies

Or if he misses the skillcheck, he accidentally hits his head with his clapper, killing him instantly.

She goes "lah lah lah lah laaaaah lahhhh lahhh lolololololollololol oh oh hah"

Not even joking, once you hear it you'll notice.

That's because her lullaby doesn't reset after a chase anymore. She has a lullaby that lasts several minutes and gets progressively more manic but we never got to hear it because it constantly resets. Now it doesn't which is really damn cool because I always loved listening to the whole thing on YouTube

  • ...turn the game volume down? It sounds fine to me.

  • The reason I'd much rather play nurse over spirit is BECAUSE of the challenge. Not everything is about winning and just because I could play spirit half asleep and get the same results doesn't mean I actually want to. I think nurse is a lot more fun because she requires a bit of skill from the player. Not a ton but enough to make it engaging and fun for me. Spirit is just so incredibly dull to play. There's nothing to her. So I don't agree with the "spirit is the same as Nurse" statement.

  • Corrupt is a must-have perk at this point for Trapper or else he's hopeless, as well as any bag. I like to run the yellow bag and a trap setting add-on. Anything that can speed up the time spent not interacting with survivors. He's honestly a pretty difficult killer to play well, despite having an "easy" difficulty. Otz is a good Trapper main, plays him a lot on stream and has a metric ton of Trapper videos on his channel so that would be a good place to start. He also talks and plays at the same time, often saying exactly what's going through his head while he plays which could be helpful.

Edit: ...and I totally forgot to actually link his channel:

I wonder how the hell they manage to bug something that was working fine without changing it. It's unbelievable!

They actually wanted to fix a sound bug on Billy. So uh...because they don't test their updates and the literal spaghetti code this stuff managed to get through to live. Enjoy, lmao.

Oh terrific, Myers was a main of mine. If I could bother you again, what's bugged on him? Will be good to know as I might just retire him.

His stalking simply doesn't work around 80% of the time. Like, you'll look at someone in full view and hold M2 but you won't be able to stalk them, but then sometimes you can stalk survivors through a wall, but then evil within will fully regress back to where it was once you've stopped stalking...it's a mess. It works for some people apparently, and I've asked them how they got it to work and they literally had no idea how it was working for them and not for anyone else.

  • Billy and wraith feel awful this patch. Myers and Nurse have been broken as hell for at least half a year now and will likely never get fixed as long as dedicated servers are a thing.

What happend to him? Hes my main. I heard they changed his animation

His curve is a lot worse. You can't curve as well with him because they put a sort of cap on it. I'm gonna guess it's because of the new console sens settings but...Jesus it does not feel good anymore.

Almost every chainsaw animation is just not right. Hitting a survivor with a chainsaw? This'll play the chainsaw bumping animation and throw your FOV forward instantly, making it a pretty nauseating experience. It does the same thing even when you don't hit a survivor. It honestly gives me a headache.

Their one big fix they set out to do with Hillbilly was to remove the rev sound you heard once he came off cooldown. This is now 10 times louder. There's a few more things but In summary...he's a bit of a mess. If anyone wants to add to this list or explain these bugs better then feel free to do so.

The problem with having a tech with only 1 counter is that all killers have to run the counter. Trapper could counter this tech but not many low tier killers can fight this strat without anchoring yourself to 3 perk slots. Whenever I play killer now if someone brings a flashlight whispers comes off and lightborn goes on simple as that.

The same can be said about survivor and bt. Survivors have been anchored to 3 perk slots bc of the strat many killers can fall back on and they do so often that I can never not run bt. If there is a problem in this game releasing a perk to address it is not the way. Fast actions to distract me while I'm chasing someone is one instance where I'm still looking for a solution. I'm all ears is not useful at all.

You could always just not grab the survivor out the locker and hit the one who goes for the flashlight save. You don't need a perk to do that...

Again, if you have provide constructive criticism and possible solutions, can't really complain. Kinda why they created the 'Feedback and Suggestions' section in this forum so that they can improve the quality of the game you paid for. Especially when half the people who do complain don't even play on the PTB to help test those bugs.

But the constructive criticism is "this killer and mechanic is bugged" and the only possible solution is "fix it". How are we supposed to know how to fix their game? Honestly we shouldn't even be experiencing so many bugs as huge as these in the live patch of the game. The PTB I can cope with because it's just a testing grounds, things are gonna be a bit funky but I never expect the big things that were pointed out then and acknowledged by the devs to be in the live server 3 weeks later. For example if those Hillbilly bugs somehow slipped past the Devs unnoticed despite everything we told them, for 3 whole weeks and were never fixed (the one sound bug they wanted to fix on Billy after he uses his chainsaw actually got worse)...then I really don't know what to tell ya.

  • I mean hey I'm having a lot of fun but I'm finding it harder and harder to ignore all the things that are currently wrong with the game, and how 2 of my current favourite killers are now kinda broken, and the other 2 have been broken for months with no plans of getting bug fixes, possibly ever.

    The Shadow Nerfs

    Dun Dun Duuun

If their shadow nerf quota for Billy was "######### this killer up in every single way imaginable" then they've ultimately succeeded lmao.

  • Billy is completely broken, Wraith has some issues with his cloak and uncloak, Myers and Nurse are still hella bugged, killer queues are long, and I played against 5 Spirits in a row when I queued for survivor...but hey at least the vaults feel really clean and smooth this patch :) It seems the vault and hitbox changes have really helped in that department.

  • His curving is much worse now, and everything else about him is bugged into oblivion, as well as the animations on the survivor end. (I swear I was saying just a day ago that I was wondering what killers would be broken beyond belief this patch...funny how it's that precitable now lmao). He's so buggy that he makes Nurse and Myers look perfect.

  • Well you're at green ranks so NOED is a given. You should try running small game or a map it'll save a lot of frustration and it's what I do after every rank reset and I'm back down to purple or green. Idk what to say about a Mori because there really is no countering that, it just sucks that a lot of killers are resorting to them to win.

  • Hex retribution could probably work on her actually. Survivors might panic-cleanse it because they might think it's devour or some other perk but then you get a lot of info once it pops. But imo I don't have fun with any build other than a standard one like you're running. I think corrupt, BBQ, whispers and [miscellaneous 4th perk here] is the only way to go. Or a totem build perhaps, idk you live your own life lol

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    LOL

    1) Mori just makes survivors gen rush harder.

    2) All you are going to do is increase stats on the back end showing that killers are using more moris and thus they will get nerfed. Same with NOED.

You are shooting both of your feet here.

It really is a catch 22 scenario that he's put himself in lmao.

There is no Strong Killer that is fun to play against because most of them aren't Strong. People like playing against Demo because 1) he's the watered down version of Freddy and 2) people hardly see him. The more you go against a character or play a character, the more bored you get of it. Drop a pallet early? Wow, that's like nearly every Killer you face like Clown, Doctor, Pig, Huntress, DeathSlinger, etc.

You don't think Billy is strong? Idk about you but I enjoy playing against Billy and Huntress much more than Freddy. I see these two killers more than Freddy, and to top it off I believe they're much stronger than Freddy. Hag and Clown I almost never see but I still don't think they're fun, because imo their core design and abilities, along with Freddy, are really boring. Demo has a fun ability and feels fair, and is also a strong killer. Idk why people aren't playing him more, maybe because he takes more effort than other killers but if more people did start playing him I wouldn't get tired of it.

  • Well I hope they've looked at the Macmillan windows again before this goes to live, because a lot of the windows were.... questionably designed, and there's the ironworks one which can be an actual infinite. Apart from that and the inevitable bug or two that breaks something on the killer or survivor end I'm looking forward to this update as well as the hour long killer queue times.

  • Well killer mains seem to have this thought etched into their skulls that survivors don't like playing against Freddy because he's a strong killer when that is literally not what people are saying at all. You can have a strong killer that's also fun to play against. What's fun about Freddy? Drop the pallet early, run to the next one, get snare spammed and bloodlusted and go down...wow what an amazing and interactive experience.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1238122#Comment_1238122

It sounds like you are saying that killers should be able to get 4 kills without a single gen popping. How would that even be remotely fair for every game to be expected to play out that way? In this clip we have 1, just 1 gen popping quickly which tells the killer several things. 1, the survivors spawned in that side of the map because they weren't on the side the killer checked. 2, they focused on that gen with multiple survivors stacking on it. Judging by the speed it would have been 3 or 4 survivors on it depending on how close they spawned next to it. That is a clear indication of where to go to start chasing the survivors without having to waste anymore time searching the corner the killer is in. Who really cares if the survivors popped 1 gen? The killer now knows where they ALL are. That could be the only one they get done the whole match now. This clip doesn't demonstrate any form of actual inherent problem in the game it only demonstrates an entitled killer trying to complain about how they couldn't be allowed to totally dominate in a single match on account of the survivors spawning close together on the opposite side of a map from the killer. People like this need to relax and realize it's just a game and it wont always go exactly the way you want it to.

I'm saying I don't want to run around a literally empty space on the map for the best part of a minute before I actually find someone to chase. And please tell me how I was implying that I want to kill every survivor within 60 seconds of a match starting by saying that I want a more consistent spawn point for killers? Survivors just shouldn't spawn directly on a gen and killers shouldn't spawn in the middle of the map. I really don't know how you came to that conclusion of my statement but sure, I guess I do want to kill every survivor in 60 seconds that's exactly what I was saying.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1237624#Comment_1237624

Rember when pig didn't have to run 2 perks for 1 gimmick? Those were the days.

Although I do like the super quick running feel you get with a wider FOV. Stack it with shadowborn and you won't even remember you move slower than survivors in a crouch.

Shadowborn and monitor don't work together, just an FYI.

  • I'd had enough of DbD for around the past 2 weeks and haven't played it since because I was waiting for this update. After seeing all the changes that weren't gonna be added until the next update in the PTB I lost all motivation to carry on playing because I don't wanna put myself through this garbage when we have something potentially pretty good coming eventually so I went to play other games but I still enjoyed watching streams. Have I wanted to play DbD in the last 2 weeks? Absolutely not. But do I want to play it once this update drops tomorrow? Yeah I do because this might be the best update we'll ever get and I'm hoping it'll keep me playing.

  • If you're taking your DbD matches seriously in 2020 you really need to change the way you think about this game, because you will have matches and scenarios where you're basically gonna lose by default and there's not much you can do about it (For example if you went against a 4-man who brought an Ormond offering and 4 toolboxes against your Wraith). Nobody expects you to win these matches so the best thing to do is not beat yourself up over matches like these, because honestly the game doesn't care if you win or lose, as well as not caring what people say. Just be chill about it and mute the in-game chat, or say gg and leave if you don't wanna see what they have to say.

  • I'm not really in favour of splitting the playerbase and adding a casual mode to this game. The base game is casual enough like other people said and that won't change. We all know that an MMR system simply can't work in this game anyway so I'm not sure how you'd go about making the "ranked" and "casual" modes different. And think of the queue times...my god. What they need to do right now to matchmaking is revert the SWF matchmaking back because that system was so much better. We would see slightly longer queue times in higher ranks but as a trade-off new killers would actually get into games without waiting over 20 minutes in a queue.

  • @SurviveByDaylight said:

Technically that was almost 40 seconds. But look, you had plenty of time to check about half the gens before that happened. It was just the wrong half. How would it be fair if you could check all gens before 4 people could finish 1 gen? Sad thing is, your legion and you’re not even using DISCORDANCE 😂😂😄😄😂😄 that’s a fail on your end

That's not the issue being discussed here. Discordance would've helped here but it's not a perk you seen ran often because as far as gen perks go in 2020 it's one of the worst, especially on a killer with no mobility like Legion. At the start of the match because of where they spawned they essentially had to make a 50/50 guess on where all the survivors spawned. They guessed wrong and lost a gen for it. How is that ok? This should never even have a chance to happen on any map and on temple and mother's dwelling it happens all the time. You might as well start the game with 3 gens remaining unless you're Billy, Nurse or Spirit.

  • A pallet offering would be incredibly broken and I don't think any of us need to tell you why?

  • @giulianodannyfan said:

Never actually seen a good plague and demo. Sorry for triggering you :((((( Wasn´t my intension.

Oh don't get me wrong you didn't trigger me at all, I just found your choices a little strange because the general consensus is that plague and Demo are pretty good killers, and Legion is one of the worst. It makes sense that you haven't seen a good Plague or Demo because almost nobody plays those killers and it's a shame, I think they're both pretty underrated and are really fun to play. Legion are really popular for...some ungodly reason...so that's probably why you think they're a good killer because if you're a good Legion you're a good killer player in general because as legion you have nothing to help you in a chase.

  • Adding an extra generator to complete is not the way to go about balancing this game. 5 is fine. The thing that needs to change is the early game, and I'm talking right at the start of the match. The trial warmup idea Scott had and talked about ages ago would literally be perfect. The beginning of the game goes by way too fast unless you're Nurse or Billy who can find people within 10 seconds of a match starting and then the early game is essentially over. The game speed is fine once the killer finds someone because of the snowball effect of hooking the first survivor. It feels really fast because we have to make up for the lost time of actually hauling ass across the entire map, and THEN getting into a chase and downing somebody and by that point 2 gens are gone and it's a crappy feeling when that happens almost every game.

  • You wanna explain how you think plague and demo are the 3rd and 2nd worst killers in the game? And GhostFace and Legion are somehow better than Freddy and many other things? I'm not ragging on you I'm genuinely curious what makes these killers the way they are in your opinion.

  • They're doing it to provoke a reaction and throw you off your game. And it's working. The sooner you stop letting it get to you the better.

  • I use enduring, BBQ, infectious and monitor. I've never used thanatophobia on legion and never will, because all it does is make their progress bars turn red. They get to sit gens for, realistically, 6 more seconds? What a great perk.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

    Sorry, Recently?

    She's unplayable, PERIOD.

She blinks in place due to these horrible servers. She can lose her secondary blink at any time. There are dead zones everywhere. You can't blink to the 3rd story in Hawkins, you can't blink to the middle building in the Oni Map, you can't blink to MANY second story balconies in Dead Dawg Saloon. She's awful and they haven't addressed any fixes or issues and I don't know why.

Well right now they're getting map changes out. BHVR and a few other big game companies usually get things done at a VERY slow pace, and that's just been amplified because of covid so...I'd give it, what, 3 years before we get bug fixes? 🙃

  • Curious. Are they somehow blocking each other in to the point where none of them can move, or even vault the window? That's pretty funny ngl.

  • @Dwigtht said:

So people say doc is not OP (Over Powered) at all.

    Let's count:

    1. He can stun you near the pallet, so you have to be really far away to pre-drop it. You literally cannot stun doctor unless he is rank 20.

    2. Madness 3: You do not need Sloppy Butcher to waste surv time when they mend; just with your basic ability.

    3. Static Blast works even better than Plague's "Infectious Fright". So, you have one more perk for free!

    4. Madness 3 reveals you when you scream

    5. Reverse skill check

    6. REVERSE SKILL CHECK ON DS... which is already difficult to hit

And I did not talk about addons... you know, when your skill check appears in random places; and you still have 4 perk slots.

People who say "no-no he is not OP blah blah", have you ever played against doctor as a survivor?

Were you been successful? I really doubt you were.

This is an old thread but I saw it linked somewhere else and just had to reply because holy ######### there's so much wrong here.

    1. It takes him over a second to charge shock therapy, there's a very audible noise, it slows him down and there's a small delay after its fired, AND after it's been used before he can even swing again. If you're camping medium and small loops against him you're playing it very wrong because that's what he's good at - shutting down loops that are already unsafe.

    2. Madness now keeps its progress when you try to snap out, and the skillchecks were made even easier. Not to mention it sends you back down to tier 1? It buys the doctor like 10 seconds at most before you can get back on a gen, that's nothing considering that's only for one person.

    3. It works better than infectious fright...once every 60 seconds and has a noticeable mapwide startup sound effect. Stealth is the one thing Doc doesn't care about but he's still weak in a chase.

    4. Well, yeah? It's telling you that you should snap out as soon as possible.

5 and 6 idk what to say other than practise skill checks. DStrike is a painfully easy skillcheck to hit, just pay attention when it comes up.

  • That is camping, yes. But if you like playing that way it's fine to do so. I wouldn't change your playstyle for the sake of survivors but it's definitely more fun to actually find other survivors instead of taking trades for the entire match. Not much interactivity there it's just boring for everyone involved.

Killers with your mentality probably lose to yellow rank survivors too. Get better at the game instead of being salty.

Ok your comprehension skills are at an all-time low but that's ok. I'm not salty, I was being sarcastic because if you care about rank in this game you're playing it for the wrong reasons because why would you ever take this ranking system seriously. Getting angry at absolutely everything, like getting hit on a hook otherwise you wouldn't have made this post. Stay mad.

  • It's mostly a survivor problem. Basically someone will rescue and then they'll hide, leaving you defenseless because they can't find anyone else and you're the most prominent target. Survivors who do this are by far the worst players and ones I cannot stand on both sides because if I ever get in this situation I just feel bad when I hit the guy who came off the hook because I don't want to tunnel but they leave me with no other choice since they didn't take the aggro and just hid instead.

1 … 48 49 50 51 52 … 63
