  • Excellent suggestion, @csandman1977. I think that's where they should start. It's absolutely ridiculous how long this grind is, especially if you're a completionist. Honestly, sometimes it feels like the trials are just a mini-game that you've gotta play in order to "play" the bloodweb. It's crazy the lengths players will go to to get the loot. I think that's the point though; like @Xbob42 said: to "maximize player retention..." in whatever way possible. This is why I only have a handful of maxed out characters. This makes playing new characters (especially Killers) very challenging. Sure, I can play (almost perkless) Spirit or Nurse and do okay but I know it's just handicapping myself.

Which reminds me... BRB, I gotta go grind some perks.

  • @BugsGalore said:

I'm terrified of Charlie. He's actually not bad for someone who just started playing.

Maybe the next match won't be against rank 20 potatoes. But yeah, he's got some natural skill. Nurse took me a loooong time. Here's hoping he can bring more people into the fog.

  • @ClaudettegetsnoBPS said:

I think my lest favorites are

1)freddy: absolutely brainless in action yet still get the 4k because why would you balance the game?

    2) spirit: kind of annoying to get pulled of a generator with no warning other than breathing that's quieter than a pair of noise cancelling headphones.

    3) michael: I love halloween, michael is fun when I bring in scratched mirror because jumpscares are funny, but the game is unfun with. Michael because it's boring to get an undeserved one tap, and it's frustrating when you undeservedly get one tapped, his base power reduces any and all thought on both sides because it's like oh your dead now and your teammates aren't coming because they're all hiding in lockers cause big man bad, I'm speaking from both pov's. I will hook someone and there team will let them die despite how I'm nowhere near hook or literally will bring a downed survivor to the hook to struggle off and save their teammate and they will get off and just run away. Michael needs a rework, but so does every killer in this game, other than blight. Blight is kinda good if you use compound 7 and kinda terrifying with compound 38.

I used to main Myers and he's HARD countered by good Survivors — they just deprive him of tiering up for as long as possible. If you can keep Myers in T1 for a couple gens you've basically won. He's really tall and sticks out on almost every map, just keep your head on a swivel and don't be that Survivor who feeds him early in the game. Kind of like Deathslinger, always keep objects between you and him to obscure his stalk.

  • Wasn't there talk (PTB maybe?) of a mechanic change? Namely, only allowing the Key-bearer to escape; hatch closes instantly after 1 person escapes? I swear I heard this somewhere and thought it was being implemented at some point.

  • 3.) Spirit

Why? Against most Killers I find it preferable to try and stealth to avoid the chase, if at all possible. Spine Chill is in almost all by builds so I (usually) receive a heads-up when the Killer comes my way. A Spirit with Stridor also just nullifies my Iron Will for the entire trial. The mindgames are occasionally very fun, actually.

    2.) Doctor

Why? It's just the constant pinging of his power that becomes an irritant. Sure, if you're literally right next to a locker when you hear it charging you can avoid it, but that doesn't seem to be often. You've gotta keep track of his ~1min timer and plan accordingly.

*I was tempted to put Deathslinger here (the Monitor & Abuse build everyone uses).

    1.) Hag

Why? I've played against some very good Hags and it can make the whole trial feel really oppressive (forced to constantly crouch). Also, imo, less-skilled Hags tend to play very "campy" and that gets old real quick.

  • @nytkim said:

Your body can block him which is a bug present since he was released. So if you are looking at him but your head is blocking his model it doesn't work

Orly?! I'm gonna have to try this out.

needing a rework and fine how it is are two different thing my idea make it true anti-tunning perk.

That wasn't an option in the poll, but it was the next best option. I agree with you, it needs to be reworked into a true anti-tunneling perk.

  • I think it needs to be reworked to be a true anti-tunning perk. I think reverting it to it's old state would be counterproductive. Perhaps it gets disabled after the Survivor starts working on an objective for X seconds AND is paused in chase for Y seconds. That seems to me, someone who plays both sides, as "fair" as you can get. We're all biased in one way or another, but this seems a likely middleground. I know some mains will say "get rid of it completely," just as another player will say "make the stun 10 seconds and reusable."

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Alternatively we could just make current BT basekit and non-terror radius dependent, and make BT function like old BT did (one time use, terror radius dependent, works for both survivors).

I like this idea. You rarely need to use BT more than once per match anyway. As mentioned by others, the BT mechanic is easily "abused" by certain Killers, namely those without a terror radius, or, in the case of Huntress, a long-range "camping" ability. The reason for the quotes is that I don't think this was initially overlooked by the Devs; and secondly, is it really camping when a Huntress does this? Unsure, but it is annoying at times.

As @Xbob42 pointed out, when the gens are completed in a trial, the Killer has little incentive to leave a hooked Survivor. That Survivor is, quite literally, livebait. This is one of those times when I think that "camping" the area around the hook is practical for the Killer. Sure, it sucks when you're the one on the hook, but it's infinity better than watching as your surviving teammates all sacrifice themselves for the ill-advised rescue. Depending on the circumstances, I'll sacrifice myself on hook to discourage this misstep from occurring.

  • Yeah, anything less than 500GB these days has to be a chromebook. I, too, just got a new laptop and after installing Warzone (115GB now, I believe!), most games are "meh" in terms of size. Definitely spend a little more on a SSD (even if it's an external), the speed is noticably faster. Yes, I'm using a laptop to game these days! Just another day in 2020 🤯

I agree with @Moundshroud but I'm also a big believer that just because hackers targeted 0.00043% of the DbD community does not mean we should remove the penalty.

GIve people an inch they take a mile.

I tend to agree with this. Nothing ruins a game faster than someone DCing. I get that top-level steamers were targeted but aren't they the extreme minority? Sure, they also deserve the same opportunities to enjoy the game.

This. I mean, how hard would it be to just make sure the top Streamers can't be penalized this way, anyway? I seriously doubt Tru or Otz would be like: "I can now DC from matches with impunity unlike everyone else?! Let's do that every game!"

Could this be the solution? Make the Fog Whisperers impervious to DC bans. I'm not sure what else to do, it's basically happening in well over half my games.

Thats not how the alarm clocks work. You can wake up at any of them, but only the farthest one is highlighted.

Okay, so I can easily wake up at any one of the numerous alarm clocks on the map. Right?

    @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1635294#Comment_1635294

Wrong. You can only wake up at the highlighted clock.

Or not... I haven't been able to wake myself up at any alarm clock other than the highlighted one (which is almost always too far away to justify going for it). The other clocks just tick, and no prompt appears. Did this change recently?

  • I've encountered many good teams (read: SWFs) (some assumed due to gameplay, others by clan-like names, or post-game chat) and RARELY have any games ended in 5 minutes, let alone 4. In fact, the quickest games I've ever played were when I was facing a bunch of wide-eyed, brown-ranked survivors who were tripping over themselves. To add to that, I'm a pretty mediocre Killer (at best), so survs have ample time to do their objective and escape. Everyone talks like they face the much-dreaded "survivor team 6" everyother game, but that can't be true.

Anyway, I agree with @Aven_Fallen n and @darktrix about DS. Sure, it does suck when you get that "59 second" DS (b/c it's always 59s :p) after hooking another survivor or whatever, but in it's current state (~2 second stun) there's been an influx in tunneling and therefore a negative impact overall.

@OldHunterLight , I have noticed that I'm not seeing less DS-equiped players lately. I've stopped using DS completely because of the reduced stun time; I can only assume other people have realized how totally ineffective it currently is.

  • There's definitely been an uptick in Mori usage as of late, probably for the reasons @Zozzy and @xerav have pointed out: Tome/daily challenges & the predicted rework by the devs. Moris are the most OP offering/item in the game and playing against one (or even with one) every game is just boring. I hope they remove Moris (and Keys, for that matter) from the game, but I doubt they will. They're seemingly ingrained into the game at this point, so I think we're looking at a rework of some sort; most likely by simply adding additional stipulations for their usage.

Prediction for Moris: a timer will be implemented; Moris cannot be used for X minutes or until Y gens are completed.

How do you think the devs will end up tweaking these items/offerings?

  • This ######### this is so frustrating. I literally avoid the hill entirely now; it's just too risky to play around it.

Yes, as a Survivor, I have been able to get myself out of the black hole a few times, but usually this just throws the game. And if I'm playing Killer it's 100% game over and I have to watch the Survivors dance around me and try to blind me.

    AVOID THE HILL!

In the meantime, make sure you have DH and try to wiggle and run towards the slope of the hill. At least it's a shot of getting out, I guess...

  • I watch both but Killer streams offer a lot more variety. Survivors are just skins, they all play the same. Killers, for the most part, all require a slightly different approach and that, for me, makes them more interesting to watch. I think my favorite streamer so far is Fungoose. He definitely takes an educational approach to the game, which is a godsend for those of us who are less experienced. Also, he doesn't talk slowly (a pet peeve of mine); win-win!

Like @CalamityJane said, you'll find a bunch of useless Survivor streams where they just follow the killer around all game. Interesting the first time you see it, not so much after that.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

So it finally happened. My Dwight is stuck in this damn hill. I obviously expect this game to be dead in the water at this point but is there anything one can actually do to get unstuck? Like...can the killer pick me up? Or if you get stuck in the hill, at that point just DC because all you're going to do is kill your time because you can't do anything to get out?

Omg this bug is ######### annoying as Hell. I've had this happen in multiple games over the past week. As a Survivor you CAN get out (without using items) in three ways, that I know of from experience; there may be other methods.

    1. Face the slope of the hill and RUN forward while mashing left and right. You'll get out eventually, just keep at it. Note that this doe NOT work if you're stuck under the hill.

    2. A teammate can bump you from behind (again, face the slope of the hill) and it's 50/50 whether you'll both be stuck or your teammate will take your place.

    3. The Killer can come down you and pick you up (you can't move while downed either), thus freeing you from the hill.

If anyone knows any other methods, please share.

As Killer, I've been unable to to free myself. Survivors usually just dance around you and try to get free blinds before leaving and getting a free escape.

Can we get a acknowledgement from @BHVR about this? This seems to happen WAY too often for them to ignore... hopefully.

  • Omg, it's ######### ridiculous. I've had the happen to myself way too MANY times. Please fix this ASAP!

for those who don't know if you get unhooked in endgame with adrenaline it will heal you despite you being broken from second wind, and if you get hit within second winds duration it will heal you, is this intentional? If not then I hope they keep it because it actually makes the perk half usable.

Yeah, I've seen this exactly once. It's a beast of a combo when it comes into play, but that's so rare. It's really just part of some meme build at this point.

But yeah, I agree with @MeatBycicle: it's probably an oversight on the part of the devs.

The removal of teachables would lead to a select few meta survivors and narrow 'acceptable' killers so much the game would die in a month. Not to mention how some killers have a bit of Doctor syndrome where some of their perks actually hurt them like M&A

    @KnotEnthusiast said:

So would killer get the same treatment? If not, then that's an incredibly one-sided nerf that's both incredibly biased towards killer and also throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Just strengthen weak perks and weaken OP perks, don't shoehorn survivors into playing specific ones because some perks became meta. Especially since that just means certain survivors will be meta, rather than perks. And god help BHVR if the most meta survivor is a paid DLC.

And if killer gets the same treatment, the game dies. No exaggeration. 99% of killers would quit if perks like BBQ or Infectious were limited to their origin killer. It's incredibly annoying to have to play killer when I don't have a perk build I like, if the whole game was like that I would quit. And I'm sure many others would too.

    This.

Instead of perks being meta, certain survivors (can you guess who?) would be the meta. And that means even less variability than we see now. I DO like the idea of "enhancing" the game (secondary objectives, more customization options, ever more characters and unique, and hopefully useful, perks), but I don't think this is it. This idea will just detract from what we already have, imo.

Speaking of which, what's the deal with the so-called Red Glyphs everyone was talking about a while ago? Mere rumours?

  • An original Killer originating from the community. The art some of these people are capable of is actually astonishing. Definitely check out that section of the forums if you haven't yet! Highly recommend it.

I would also like to see the Xenomorph from Alien. True, @SocialDistomancy. It's definitely been played out a lot recently, and not just on the silver screen, but in games, books, comics, etc. Still, I think the devs could make it an appealing character.

Hello fellow survivor mains. I am a survivor main myself and I just wanna say, Let's try to be nicer to the killers who aren't toxic. Ik Both sides of the game have some Toxic People, but to the people who aren't toxic and just are trying to play, Let's try and be nicer to them. Especially if they are newer to playing killer and Don't know what they are doing. Let's try and be kind people to one another. And Ik ik, some killers have certain playstyle's they like that we don't ,but we do as well; have playstyle's we like but they dislike. Let's try and remember that at the end of the day we all Play this game to have Fun. So yeah, Love y'all and be safe out there during these Hard times ✌

    I love it, man!

Sadly, I simply block messaging (PS4) when I'm playing Killer (~30% of the time) b/c you just can't seem to "win". It's almost a Catch-22: perform well and get hate messages; perform badly and get more hate messages. It's like the Survivors want a Killer who tries but falls just short every trial. I do upvote and send sincere messages to that Killer/Survivor who is obviously new but doesn't give up. Like @BlindMole said, I do miss those wholesome interactions. Especially during these trying times. One positive interaction > one negative interaction. Without an influx of new players this game will die, probably faster than people realize. Maybe I'll switch messaging back on...

I really like the idea of Greek Collection, I can imagine another one : Egypt Collection, with Huntress in Anubis skin.

But I'm worry about something, why isn't there a new map with this collection??

I can imagine a Greek theater, with ruins etc same for Egypt and others potential collections. It would be a great addition to make an unique map with this kind of collection.

I think Egypt was actually conquered by the Greeks and held for hundreds of years, so their history is linked. I guess they could do an early Egyptian collection. There's only a few cosmetics in the game that really intrigue me, but I've gotta say, the Greek collection is amazing! Oni looks ######### amazing, in particular. I completely agree with you that any maps from this era/locale/whatever could be extremely cool. Lots of possibilities, too. Map(s) could be designed during their construction so there's lots of materials lying around (I think pallets have been around for a long time, right? :P). I definitely hope they run with this idea. We need more maps!

I wanted to mention this back when it was first leaked but people don't like it when i talk about stuff too early. Now that the trailer is out, I think it's safe to discuss.

As one of the very few Ace mains, i'm really dissapointed by his tome IV outfit. In my opinon, it looks really unappealing and the style doesn't fit his charcter at all (but that might change once I read his tome lore). The Wraith's and Hag's cosmetics look just amazing, and Meg's looks decent enough. Ace's however is such a let down. I thought that since this tome would be about Ace they'd actually put effort into it but I was wrong. This is just my opinion but almost all of Ace's cosmetics are unnappealing and the only ones worth buying are the common and uncommon tiers.

I'd also like to point out a few things before anyone jumps to the replies. I'm well aware that the quality of cosmetics is a very subjective matter. I know that there are other character who are getting far worse treatment in terms of cosmetics like Adam. And I know that there are more pressing issues with the game like bugs and balance.

I'm an Ace main myself. I do very much agree that he doesn't seem to have any cosmetics that say "gambler", which is pretty disappointing. I play him because I'm a gambler (kinda... Poker ≠ gambling) and want something interesting. I'm not a fan of his Hugh Hefner style smoking jackets and loafers. The WW2 style bomber cosmetic is probably his best one, imo. I guess that's sorta like gambling, given how dangerous those missions were; but I want something that screams degenerate gambler! I just hope his lore is worth reading in this Tome; and gives us more insight into this elusive risk taker.

  • Yeah, you're not really even "camping" at that point. The gens were done and the other 3 Survivors were swarming the hook, why would you leave the area? I mostly play Survivor these days (after they "tweaked" my Nurse) and I don't blame any Killer who defends a hook in the end game, especially when all other Survivors are literally right there. The ~10 - 15% of the time I play Killer I'll "camp" the hook in the EGC because, typically, the team doesn't want to leave their friend behind. And it's not rare to go from 1 to 2 or even 4 kills due to an overly altruistic attempt at the end.

As for the nasty messages, I guess I'm lucky to be on PS4 'cause I always turn off messages. No need (nor desire) to listen to some little kids rant and rave about it; I was there, I played the game; and I'm moving on!

There's gotta be a way to disable messages on comp, right? Comp people chime in, help the guy out!

  • Agreed. I get that the Killer doesn't want to wait around for the Survivors to struggle when the game is essential over, but... BPs? Yeah, Survivors like those too. I've also noticed that my struggle points vary from game to game (when last hooked but it's not death hook). Why is this?

  • @PassarinoT said:

I wish they still made these. Hell, they should even make them for survivors for the archive challenges. That would be nice.

So, the reason I thought of this was that I've been hearing a lot about Survivors being able to tell which Killer you picked before the trial begins (and tailoring their perks). Yeah, this would definitely shake things up a bit. Although I do wish it wouldn't make you run perkless.

Edit: I LOVE that idea for the Survivors archive challenges!

  • While I completely agree that camping is boring, I don't understand how he was able to camp all of you. I assume the Killer was just face camping, right? This is SWF too, right? The 3 other Survivors should just gen rush as fast as possible and deny the Killer additional points/kills! If the Killer can't instadown, you can send one guy with BT over to try to rescue while the other 2 sit on gens. A face-camping Killer should get only 1, maybe 2 kills.

  • It definitely took me a minute to learn how he works but I can't comprehend nerfing PH and leaving certain other Killers alone. The only time you should be getting Tormented is if you're already injured, in a chase, and about to go down unless you run over his fence. After removing his ability to cage-camp I think he's in the "perfect", middle of the pack area the devs love so much. He's definitely not top tier; he's no Spirit or Billy.

  • A 6 second stun for burning him? I mean, I'd like that but I think that would be way too good against him; especially because he's pretty easy to spot when moving.

  • Unfortunately the anonymity provided by the interwebs brings out the worst in people. I've had essentially the same thing happen to me a few times. A "teammate" decides to work with the Killer in revealing our locations via pointing and/or running directly to us. Extremely frustrating. I have also run into (a few) Killers who will tunnel them outta the game for doing it. To them, I say thank you. Good riddance "teammate"!

  • Spirit. By far. It's literally been every game I've played tonight, if only five so far. Tunneling Spirits. Iron Will has become a staple in my lineup. I really don't understand why Billy got a "rework" in lieu of Spirit. At least he had some real counterplay. I'm an okay Survivor (and Killer) but I guess playing immersed and walking around her is my best bet? I don't know. Please, enlighten me!

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Somebody already said it, but gore definitely doesn't mean that a game is automatically scary.

I'm also just gonna say this and I might repeat it in the future but...anything they add to make this game "scary", you would enjoy for about a week and then QUICKLY start to hate it. Horror in a video game is about removing a sense of control in a situation, making you feel helpless, or surprising you in such a way that it completely changes your experience and feeling. In a multiplayer game, you'll be experiencing it over and over on the daily, and this kind of horror will wear off FAST. It will go from scary to tedious real quick, because removing control from a player in a multiplayer game is boring and not fun.

    This.

The scariest games, at least that I've played, are all about some sort of sensory deprivation. Can't see? Can't fight back? Can't run? That's scary. DbD can't really incorporate any of those things.

  • Confirmed that cakes ARE working as intended on PS4.

Woah! I thought the max you could get, assuming 5 cakes, crowned achievement, and BBQ was 32,750*6.20 = 203,050. What am I missing? First game of the day bonus? 4-year anniversary bonus?

  • Yeah, maybe that's true. Personally I've only prestiged two characters because I thought I'd get better items in the subsequent bloodwebs, but I really haven't been able to tell the difference. Maybe it's only for the bloody cosmetics? Regardless, we're definitely getting spoiled with ~100k per trial. Most games have at least 3 cakes; and a lot of have 5. Anyone do the math of the maximum you can get with 5 cakes? I'm assuming it's just 8,000*4 = 32,000 (emblem system) + 250 (crown) + 500 (crowned achievement) = 32,750*5.20 = 170,300 bloodpoints? I've only ever gotten around 150k. I guess you could also run BBQ/WGLF and increase that to 32,750*6.20 = 203,050 bloodpoints. Pretty juicy, if my DbD math is anywhere near correct.

  • They all seem to be stacking properly on PS4. Fingers crossed this isn't starting again. I love me some cake!

keep in mind im 50/50 survivior and killer so this is coming from both perspectives

Moris should only be avaliable to survivors that are on DEATH hook. im absolutely sick to death of being hooked, camped, tunneled and then mori'd when ive only been hooked once. if moris were on death hook people wouldnt be getting tunnelled off first hook then just mori'd straight after. it infuriates just about everyone and even some killers (myself included) have realised this and only mori off death hook.

the game is suppose to be fun and everytime survivors see a mori in the offering screen they just gets annoyed knowing whats going to happen. Moris are basically a free win and going against them is pain fully frustrating.

will there ever be plans on changing it to death hook (or even just second hook for that matter) because first hook is just ridiculously stupid.

I've said this before but I'll said it again: I agree, first hook camp-n-Moris are terrible but death-hook Moris would be too weak. Something in between... but what? Can you explain to be the difference between second-hook and death-hook? Seems to me they're exactly the same, you've been hooked twice and will die next time. The only thing I could think of is maybe Moris only work after at least 2 gens have popped but that doesn't really change much, at least in most games. I guess your SWF team could opt to not pop gens and rescue you? Idk. And ideas?

  • I guess this would be the Survivor version of Bitter Murmur + BBQ. We need this, devs!

TBH just rework WGLF to work on any generators that pop while you are alive, and show all survivor auras for 4 seconds like chili

I agree that WGLF definitely needs a buff to bring it on par with BBQ; but what do you mean by "work on any generators that pop while you're alive"? So when any gen pops it also shows Survivor auras for 4s? Or only after performing a safe unhook died it reveal the auras of all Survivors? Like a mini Bond for 4s with unlimited range (just like BBQ past 40m)? If so, I can get onboard with that. A slight buff that gives SOME information while retaining that sweet, sweet farming potential = $$

The dc penalty was a bad idea from the start. It forces players who are potentially getting bullied all match to have to stay (especially for killer since there is no hook suicide). Also unfairly gives game bans to players whose games crash, it is not the player fault if the game crashes randomly why should they be punished. And more recently hackers that give people Massive game bans for no reason forcing people to not even be able to play the game for several days potentially, this one right here is the most unacceptable one. Please devs the dc penalty is not something that helps the game don't bring it back.

Umm... no. I've been playing more than usual lately trying to complete the Rift and the amount of DCs I'm seeing is absolutely ######### ridiculous. First Survivor downed? DC. First hooked? DC. Someone doesn't save you in the first 10s of being hooked? DC

This goes for Killers too, albeit to a lesser degree. Get frustrated because you committed to a chase for 60s before downing them? DC. A Survivor stunned you with Head On? DC.

It's getting ridiculous to be honest. I'd estimate that I'm seeing a DC every 3-4 games; and what's worse, it seems as soon as one Survivor DCs it becomes acceptable for the rest of them to do so when something doesn't go their way.

The DC ban was a HUGE improvement, in my onion. It incentivizes players to remain in the trial, to compete; and kept those using McDonald's WiFi out of (most) of our games.

Nobody is that good as killer. You do lose SOMETIMES, right? If you haven't camped at the end when the exit gates are open, you're just giving them free escapes. Because why would you leave the hook? It's the only time camping is appropriate and not toxic. That's the kind of camping I'm talking about here.

Agreed. There's (typically) ZERO incentive to leave a hooked Survivor when the gates are 99/open.

I've heard this alot and my answer...you have it backwards. Leatherface mains don't camp any extra. People who want to camp pick the best killer for camping.

    Perfect.

  • I get that being bullied as Killer sucks but this is such a boring way to play. Sure, it's efficient but we're playing this game to have fun, aren't we? This is just the "I got my feathers ruffled by a coordinated team last game" handbook. Fighting toxicity with toxicity just leads to, you guessed it, more toxicity... and fewer players in the game.

Run within maze tiles or make tight turns around trees, corners, anything and hope he bumps into something.

    THIS!

You're probably not going to get away unless you utilize tight turns and make unpredictable movements. Most people that play LF aren't that good when it comes to steering and avoiding obstacles. As a Survivor your goal here is to induce a tantrum and then use that time to get to another, safer area. After escaping the chainsaw a few times the Killer will most likely just resort to his M1 attack.

I was a Nurse main when this game came out (console) but after her "rework(s)" she can be incredibly frustrating to play. So I started dumping BPs into LF for BBQ and he gradually became the Killer I play the most now. I'm actually pretty excited to see how he performs after this chainsaw tweak. I think he's going to be much more viable. Hopefully this rework will discourage the meme playstyle he's so often associated with.

Imagine this scenario. You are chasing someone. In that time, two gens are popped and your totems are gone. It was a long chase, but you got them. This is your first hook of the game, and you really just want it over with. You scan the area, no one in sight. You pick them up, and boom. Some Claudette pops out of a bush and blinds you. All of your work, gone, negated by 2 double AAs. They get away. All gens are popped now. They taunt you in chat. Your game is ruined.

See what I mean? It erases mistakes. If their team messed up, no worries. Just blind the killer! This problem is exacerbated with SWF. It just doesn't seem fair.

Flashlights are annoying, I'll give you that; but I'd much rather the Survivors bring in 4x flashlights than toolboxes, or even medkits. And like @OldWiseOne said: so many Survivors struggle with them, whether it's getting the timing right, the angle, or whatever.

I can count on both hands the number of times I've been successfully blinded (forced to drop the Survivor in this instance). I don't run Lightborn because I think it's a waste of at perk-slot 99% of the time. Just rotate away from the would-be rescuer and LOOK STRAIGHT UP if they're trying to blind you. I've found that this usually results in a "partial-blind" and they've just wasted their time. You can also just leave the slug for ~15s and swat the rescuer; injured players are typically less inclined to attempt the save.

Half the time it feels like a wasted slot to me, but when its needed its really needed

    This.

In >85% of your games it'll just be a wasted perk slot; but in those other ~15% you'll absolutely need it to prevent the Killer from camping and/or tunneling you to death. Funny thing is whenever you think "damnit! I'm sick of running with 3 perks" and swap out DS for something else, you'll wish you had it the very next game.

  • I used to main Meyers and yes, he can definitely struggle to keep up in the current state of the game. He's easily looped by Survivors, especially in tier 1. Your main goal from the minute the game starts is to get to tier 2 as quickly as possible. Utilize the undectable status to sneak up on a gen and stalk like it's going outta fashion. Stalking multiple Survivors at once is a HUGE benefit to Meyers; so try to determine which gens are crucial and head there ASAP. I can usually get out of tier 1 before the first gen pops but I'm also prioritizing that over a chase. You'll also want to "99" his power meter for tier 3 and activate it when you can create a snowball effect. Savvy Survivors will obviously try not to group up when they realize their facing a Meyers but circumstances change (healing each other, stacking up on an exposed gen, unhooking, etc). GL!

  • Yes! Definitely report that type of behavior whenever you see it. BHVR has stated that they do indeed look into these reports. Be advised that you MUST have reported them in-game before submitting any evidence supporting the claim (I think they prefer videos uploaded to YouTube). They never reveal what they actually do to the offenders but that shouldn't deter you from continuing to report this type of action.

Hillbilly? Are you kidding? Get a red rank hillbilly with an insta saw (brown and yellow addon btw) and your team gets obliterated within the first 2 minutes of the game. Not very fun.

Yeah, I've gotta agree with this. Billy is the ######### worst. Give me Spirit or Freddy, at least I'll stand a chance. I cannot for the life of me seem to dodge that damn chainsaw; and it's even worse with his add-ons.
