I learned how to play vs Nemesis because he move slower when charging his whip so you can turn it into a mind game of if he will use his power or not but vs Xenomorph it seems impossible to loop him and once it's close enough a hit is basically guaranteed whereas on other killers it wouldn't be. For example, I was looping X last game and knew he would try to hit me with his tail if I vaulted the pallet so I instead dodged his tail attack but then he could bodyblock me from using the pallet and hit me with a basic attack. So if I vaulted he hits me and when I don't vault I get hit too and it feels very unfun with no counterplay.
Any tips? I am returning after a break and still getting used to facing this killer.
This is not making sense to me.
So he was able to body block during/after the tail attack preventing you from vaulting. Sounds like he was in a good position just to m1 and had no reason to even use the tail attack. You should have been hit regardless? Not sure where the no counter play is coming from. Wraith could have did the same thing.
Honestly if what your describing is true every killer on the roster should have hit you.
-
Lots of times that 4th kill is needed to double pip. I have been screwed countless times by this and as long as de-pipping is still a thing people are going to want their doubles when possible. I personally think removing de-pipping would lower the amount of 4k slugs.
The 4th survivor is not going to give up so why should the killer. This is just more of the "play how I want you too" mentality that this community is in love with.
-
Jesus. This matchmaking is hilarious.
Just think about how bad these survivors have to be. Good lord man.

Some of the m1 killers require at minimum 2 gen regression/slowdown perks to be viable at higher mmr. Certain killers can get away with no gen control because of their strengths.
I know it baffles me when people make claims like the person you responded too. If you need "X" to do "Y" its a skill issue because I win doing "Y" with no "X". All the while not saying what killer, add-ons, etc he brings into his matches.
All killers are created equal I guess.

Sloppy I think is fine. I would be fine if hemmorage was removed since healing was nerfed.

Ah OK, like I said I didn't know, but haven't noticed a bubble ^^ I don't think just the scream gives you too much of an advantage though...
That's what I'm saying. This is one of those "complaining for the sake of complaining" threads that pop up everyday. Like the odds of Jolt activating DMS is incredibly low not to mention the survivors would have to be horribly bad meaning they would have lost to perk less Clown.

i tried running boon COH. what happens i have to go in the boon range crouch and spin/dance and hope someone comes to heal me and that we wont get intterupted. ( cometims totems are hard to find too, especially one that isnt easy for killer to destroy)
i tried running medkits but without the insta heal syrenge. there is no point one heal at max unless i dedicate my build. and IT SUCKS WHEN I GET INTERUPTED by fast mobility killer or WRAITH.... then medkit is useless
i tried running selfcare and botany knowledge. so far the best way to heal consistently in a match but i sacrifice 2 perks for it
Makes it easy to get tunneled off hook since getting a heal fast enough before killer finds you with ultimate weapon or just fast mobility ( WRAITH..) is almost impossibly slow.
This perk make some killer viable and some impossible strong to play against in soloq ( spirit...)
Your thoughts ?
Just what we need another forum user that intends to open threads complaining about every killer perk and how it effects solos. News flash every perk effects solo more. This is how it's been since the dawn of time. Problem is people take this game way to serious these days.

I use it on many killers and haven't really noticed a bubble up, but I also didn't focus on it so I don't know... I don't think it is problematic, the perk does not become brokenly strong because of it or anything so I'd rather have them fix more important things, but sure if they had unlimited resources they should either fix it or update the description
There is no bubble on the killers end. He has no idea where you are from your screams. Infectious works like Doctor static blast and Jolt does not.

Killer - I would say Brutal. I run it on all my killers (m1 gamer here) but I will say Fire Up has always been a perk I am eyeballing. They just need to increase the numbers to make it worth while. I'm thinking 10% each token. That's a max of 50% only in end game. Would also still be worse than Wraith crack head build. I really want to see how the pickup animation would look at 50%.
Survivor - Head-on is my favorite. I'm a solo gamer and the amount of killers I made think I was in a swf is nuts. This perk after 4500 hrs still makes me laugh each time I body a killer.
-
Same. Only time I ever see killer bonus is between 6pm - 10pm and it's still not constant.
East coast btw.

For the last week and a half I've gotten horrible game lag playing Killer. I can't keep up on chases, I have to leave loops because I can't make counter moves. Hooking takes forever so if someone has Boilover I have to basically drop them or slug them (sorry if that's you), because getting to a hook is ridiculous tough.
I have cleaned the cache, paused all devices on my router and made my Xbox priority, changed from WiFi to Ethernet cable, restarted my router over and over, restarted my Xbox over and over, unplugged my Xbox many times, did different ports and always make sure my NAT is open.
I know it's a long shot but has anyone else dealt with this and found a solution? I just want to play at the same speed as survivors so I can enjoy playing too.
This sounds horrible. Hopefully someone can help you.
Yesterday I was downloading some games off game pass, my son was playing TCM on his Xbox, my wife was playing Fortnite on hers, and my daughter was playing Fortnite on switch and I had no issues. Oh plus all our phones were connected to our wifi.
You should be great running direct unless you had some local internet provider issues. Bad weather maybe?

With the way people resort to attacking people when they have different opinions I am very impressed with you. Thank you for being civil about this. When people attack your favorites I understand it can be frustrating. I applaud you.
I would also like to mention again however I would have no issues with any of the discussed issues if add-on strength was not so lopsided between great killers and the weak.

I also want everyone to have good and interesting addons, but in the current system that’s kinda hard to balance. I wish the loadout system was point based, meaning killers have around 15 points (weaker killers maybe a few more) and perks and addons cost 1-5 points depending on their strength (also should probably make addons infinite). This doesn’t automatically make every addon good/interesting but it would make balancing a lot easier (and allow hoarders like me to actually use addons)
I like this idea. We can dream.

We shouldn’t advocate for anything in the game to be “nuked”. What happened to billy was absolutely disgraceful and should never happen again.
Right now currently Blight, Nurse, MfT, and tombstone piece need nuked. You are right about Billy though.

It's actually one of the most genius ideas from BHVR to make tomes for new characters after original chapter released.
I hated Singularity at his first weeks, i never touched him after few games.
But his tome challanges made me play him and i am quiet enjoyed. And more i played him, more i liked him. He is honestly one of the most fun killers ever. Easily he is in my top 5.
If his tome was not after chapter released, i probably would never play him.
That is great. Truly.
I however still feel he does nothing better than anyone. So I still play anyone else.

I think they should nerf some of his addons and buff the weaker killers instead of nerfing his basekit. Yeah sure he is strong but that’s because the player invested a lot of time to get good, and even then he can still be looped because he can’t go through walls
I'm not a big fan of "took time to learn so now gets to be OP". That has always been said about Nurse as well. That being said I would be 100% fine with this. I would have no problem with Nurse/Blight status if Freddy had good add-ons. He has a couple decent add-ons that people mistake for being good because the rest are SOOOO bad but none of them are good. He also has no power in endgame but that's a whole different issue.
I fully understand not all killers are created equal. That's actually a good thing. I believe all killers should have good add-ons though that change the playstyle. That's mostly what I want. I just don't see how life makes sense when Blight has better add-ons then every killer currently. He already has so much.
-
@Header said:
Considering that there are at least 10 bugs that make blight weaker in some way, I think the hug tech acts as an equalizer to those. I don’t mind removing hug tech but only when everything else about him works as intended (which will never happen)
So he has 10 bugs that make him weaker? And he is still an S-tier killer?
Blight and Nurse need nuked. I honestly don't care how. That's what Blight mains and the devs are for. My opinion (which I'm allowed to have) says Blight needs more than just add-on nerfs.
Some of this is also jealousy since I main Pig, Freddy, Clown, and Mike. What he has as a whole is just stupid compared to my killers. I find that ass backwards.
-
I understand your frustration.
That being said Blights worst map is still better than my Piggy's best map.
So just power through bud!

Guys I did a lot of digging and... You guys are completely right.=)
To avoid pentimento you just need to ignore Plaything, I thought the oblivious were a strong debuff, but it's actually not THAT strong...
It's completely useless in a chase, since you still can see the red stain (I thought you couldn't) and hear a chase music, you basically need to predict and learn that if killer have plaything, it might have a penti as well, so the fellow survivors needs to learn the tactic and it will be at least 1 useless perk for killer, might be 2 useless perks if you play around plaything.
I doubted you guys at first, but now I finally understood what you meant... I was stupid, my apologies to anyone in this thread!
Thank you for eye oppening guys!
So you made a post about 2 perks you have not even played against? If you had you would have known there is still a red stain and chase music.
Forums summed up in one post right here.

Before I shut down most of my playing time I started with about 2000 hrs. of killer. Then around 1500 on survivor. The last roughly 1000 I played was whomever had the bonus (which I don't like btw). Both roles are lacking and completely annoying to me.
Killer - You would think (keyword there) that your skill matters more but unfortunately there are a few too many variables that can dictate the course of the match. This rng I would not mind if it couldn't be so one sided at times.
Killer - MMR, Solos, SWF, map offering, tile spawns, number of pallets, gen spawns (locations), etc all dictate the flow of the match at too high of a level IMO.
Survivor - MMR, Killer used, Solo Q, Lost teammates, gen spawn (locations), pallet count, etc still can dictate to much.
Needless to say both roles suck and there is too much rng to tell when you are skilled. Am I good for being on a win streak or is matchmaking screwing up (most certainly)?. Am I good or did I get a decent run on maps? Or where they all solos or baby killers?

Are you on Xbox? If I recall, Xbox requires names to be visible in accordance with their policies, so BHVR cannot implement anonymous mode on Xbox.
Correct. You can hide your name so it only shows your character name (which I learned today there are people who think this means their playing with/against bots) but anyone who clicks on the name can see your profile. So Xbox players can see other Xbox players profiles but cross-platform can't so better than nothing IG.

OP I completely get it. I got really into the game (all my free time) and played nothing but DBD from Deathslinger release until Wesker. I have around 4500 hours in that time span. My first (guesstimate) 2000 or so hours was purely killer. I enjoyed it so much. Then I got to a point where killer was no fun so I switched to playing mostly survivor. That continued until Wesker released.
When Wesker released it breathed new life into the game for me and I played him to Iri 1 and have bounced back and forth in roles since barely playing an hour before switching to other games. The gameplay has become tedious, sweaty, and just plain boring to me. I don't have fun playing solo survivor nor do I playing killer. To be clear I still play killer at a high level still winning most of my games with Pig, Freddy, and Mikey. Wesker feels OP to me since I'm used to the previously mentioned lol but it's just not fun even winning right now in DBD.
I'm not sure if it's me, DBD, or the fact there are so many great games I'm playing currently. I am still dumping most of my hours into Monster Hunter Sunbreak (amazing game), Outriders, and now Starfield. If I am having fun playing those games I see no reason to play DBD when it's just not fun (what everyone should do honestly). Saddest part Alien is my dream license and I just can't be bothered. This game needs spiced up dramatically (games modes, mechanics, etc) for me to return.
P.S. TCM died out for me in less than a week. No competition to DBD what so ever. The ball will always be in BHVR's court and unfortunately that's a double edge sword as it means they are required to do very little.
-
I vote for a new mode where EVEYONE'S kit is randomized. No way to know what you get until after loading in to prevent dodging. Must earn same amount of BP. I wouldn't mind characters used being random as well but I'm perfectly fine with just perks, items, add-ons, and offerings.
Maybe choose your own offering? Not sure.

Unless you manage to take a hit next second after being unhooked, I wouldn't advise it.
If you bodyblock the killer after being unhooked, you are just asking to get tunneled.
I gave them option to leave, they didn't take it. That's it.
This. Unhook endurance was given to survivors to help with tunneling. Body blocking/aggro a hit after being unhooked will almost certainly ALWAYS result in that player being thrown back on the hook OP. End game prayers aside they made the correct call. You however did not. You went for unhook injured with killer near by/chasing. Come on bruh.

Mid-chapter PTB is should be next week. So what is your expectations from next mid-chapter update?
Me:
- Some nerfs for weak and mid killers ( Pig, Slinger, Clown, Billy)
- Some buffs for non-used Blight add-ons ( Foxglove, Compound Seven, Shredded Notes etc. )
- Some nerfs for weak perks for both sides ( like Calm Spirit and Hangman's Trick nerfs )
- Some nerfs for most popular perks for both sides even if they don't needed ( WoO, PR, Pop, Corrupt, Adrenaline, Resilience etc. )
- A lot new bugs
- Some unnecessary changes nobody asked
- Some shadow changes nobody asked
I am not expecting from them to address actually real issues. Like map balance, camping ( we know this will come out but who knows when ) , Blight add-ons, some buffs for weak killers etc.
Don't forget adding more collision to random map junk. Got to get stuck on more stuff.

god forbid survivors play even slightly unoptimal, i guess
This is unfortunately not how the game is played anymore. Everyone wanted to optimize the fun out of it. I put in 4000 hrs between Slinger and Wesker and barely play anymore. I don't find the game fun on either side most of time. Xeno was what I was waiting for for in terms of license but the game still stinks right now.
Patiently waiting for good changes and I would dump 1000's more hours when/if they come but for now other games are more fun. It's what the player base needs to do instead of suffering match after match with no fun.
Play something else people. It's good for you I promise. Got to force them to move faster somehow? Buying things and suffering through gameplay is not the way to do it.
@GentlemanFridge majority of this was not towards you. Your post just triggered my rant. Sorry

Hello i just read that BHVR is planning an anti-camping mechanic (what is good in my opinion). I play mainly killer so im not sure how big the problem with camping and tunneling is, but if I understand the survivors here correctly, its massiv.
Camping and tunneling are very strong tactics to ensure the win of the killer.
Lets say atm. (with camping and tunneling) the game is balanced and we have the kill/escape rate BHVR wants. When now a (maybe toxic) but very strong mechanic from killers is not possible anymore the Killrate from killers will drop.
To counter that and push the kill/escape rate on a lvl BHVR wants, all survivor might get nerfed or all killers buffed. What do you think will happen?
I don't think so. I think the killers that camp for life will either figure out they never needed to OR will just proxy camp from "X" meters out.

Myers, and trapper have the biggest difference from before the update. For those two at least its night and day. I dont have a problem with the change, but being told about it would have been nice.
They would have informed (most likely) however there was no change. Read your opponents perks in end game chances are the answer to your question is there. Counting during a chase if often not accurate either. There are hundreds of perks in the game and more than a few can effect how quickly a killer can be back in your ass.

It's too strong for tunneling. Can we please stop putting it on almost every new killer.
The Alien can hold a nasty 3 gen because of it also. Maybe give it only as an add on. Thanks
Nurse can hold a 3-gen because she can blink back and forth between them all.
Blight can hold a 3-gen because he can rush back and forth between them all.
Demo can hold 3 gen because portals (also with KI).
Hag can hold 3-gen because she can trap them all and teleport.
Skully can 3-gen because......
Literally can do this all day with any killer. The correct saying is "X killer can 3-gen because they can and want to". There is nothing Xeno is doing 3-gen related that majority couldn't do.

You clearly need to raise the chances more. After playing on Coldwind 3 times without seeing the new map once, I'm done trying. Back to TCM.
Have fun. Not sure why so many people are throwing that statement (Back to TCM) like it means anything. If you don't like DBD then just don't play it. Everyone acting like TCM is so much better or something. I get it DBD/devs irritate me as well but TCM has no shot what so ever head to head. Hell the progression system alone is why I went running back to DBD. Played less than 10 games and had Sissy maxed in SP. Just need to top off her power and done. Lame.
TCM does 2 things better than DBD yes that's it 2 things.
- 3 killers makes playing a whole lot less stressful. In that same note DBD is designed/balanced for 1 killer in mind so technically a non-comparison.2
- Survivors multiple objectives. Which should be the case since it's balanced for 3 killers so again non-comparison.

Some game are just like that tho. I was more shocked that the add on gave him tier 3 for the whole time that must have been a new thing added or buffed since I lasted played.
i was like🤔 what’s going on here,,,, breakfast yk 🤣🤣 it just not know what was going on like why is he still in tier 3.
This made me laugh. You say all this about your team but proceed to come to the forums to complain about an add-on for Myers knowing damn well your team would have died against any killer playing the way they were.
Also don't even get me started on all your "agents" which took some re-reading to figure out you just don't know how to spell "against".
Friendly advice? Majority of your deaths will always be your teams fault and have little to do with the killer outside of a few circumstances. Over 4000 hrs. logged into this game and I can count on one hand how many times I died because the killer/perks/add-ons it always boils down to your teammates in solo's.

I needed a lot of tries as well. - Had Saboteur as well to see the hooks.... and omg, idk if it was my luck but whenever someone went down I could sabo a hook with a toolbox, one with saboteur and the killer would still have a third hook close enough to reroute a third time and get the hook. Also 10m is close af.
When I did get a successful one I did have a 100% chance of getting camped, tunneled and slapped on hook though <3 * insert kek face *
That's because there are way to many hooks which allows them to be super close to each other. I don't even know why the wiggle is still a thing. Your entire team can take hits and the killer still hook.

@GaunterODimmDBD said:
As someone who recently came back to DBD after nearly two year hiatus its really apparent.
Maybe with the exception of the Top 5% of the 4 Man army engineers. Winning as killer has been incredibly easy in general. The movement speed nerf with Survivors getting injured, Healing mostly nerf, Dead hard getting mori'd in real time, Gen time increased and kick penalty and the I don't know what happened to tiles but they've been less oppressing(maybe I'm remembering wrong) and more unsafe pallets getting introduced really just made it so easy to pressure survivors.
Like I'm convinced that Survivors has a great chance of losing if they don't start pumping generators whenever they can. The leniency to mess around at different points in the match has been greatly reduced that you can REALLY notice survivors throwing the match by doing random BS be it cleansing totem, looting chest or giving free pressure by chasing the killer with a flash light AND if you can catch them greeding a generator that's about to be finished while injured is a noticeable breathing room for the killer
It's why STBFL is so good right now because you're making the nerfs stood out even further. Hit and Run tactics from Wraith or Onryo can be really devastating if you're playing absolutely diabolical by going against the survivor rule book and doing the tactics that applies the most pressure.
Killers that apply secondary objectives be it Pin head, Pig, or using Hex perks highlights the fact Survivor has less time to mess around before they lose resources against good killers.
I used to brag about how easy it was to escape with randoms or guarantee 3 escapes and just by running BT and DH back then but man is it so difficult now especially when randoms don't realize that they really don't have the time to take it easy.
I'm also been really confident now trying out different killers that's beside Blight or Oni.
@Aven_Fallen said:
Not really sure about the easiest. I think the easiest was when Eruption/Call of Brine/Overcharge was around. Losing as Killer during these times took more effort than winning.
But it surely is easier to win than most people claim it to be.
Yes. However IMO it's not because killer is necessarily strong or OP but because matchmaking. Matchmaking is so bad these days IMO I have no confidence in saying anyone in this game is good. How do you know your good? You don't with this matchmaking.
-
You should always try a character out for yourself. Licensed character cost like 4-5 bucks so if you end up not liking them not a huge deal. I have always liked Pig and do very well with her. I also don't judge off strength as matchmaking is so bad you can win with any killer. Sure if you get a good team you can struggle but trust me they are rare.
Again it's fine to ask about a killer but your opinion carries the most weight. Just try her.
-
It's a boon that can be snuffed. I would actually be fine with it. Would at least be a boon that can be used.
-
Sometimes. Today was actually quite fun. I played 4 games this morning and each one was 3 or more escapes. Sounds boring I know but for once they were actually close games.
One misplay and we all could have died. Some very clutch endings. Best day of solo survivor I have had in quite some time.
I also 4k’d last night a team with 4 commodious with 2 bnp’s with Trapper on Coldwind. So there’s that too.
-
Pig - Amanda's Trap iri add-on.
Instead of survivors having a fixed number of times searching between the team the key would change boxes every 60 seconds. You would still eliminate the box from rotation when searched so you would eventually get it off. It could leave the box while being searched though and I feel it would be more like something Amanda would do.
Freddy - Iri dream world add-on. When a survivor is in the dream world tiles randomly change along with any resources (pallets/windows) they may have. It would really be Freddy material for a survivor to be running to a pallet thinking they are safe only for the pallet/tile to disappear.

I believe it will cut down on some Weskers yes. Not sure if Xeno will be most played however. As mentioned above Wesker is easier to play.

I'm doing the clown kill all 4 survivors and I simply can't with the gen rush to hell and back and broken perk combos
I tried slugging builds
I tried gen dense
i tried exposed builds
The problem I personally see with your build strats is all your eggs are in one basket. My build has a little something for every thing honestly. Not to mention you need to know the biggest weakness of a killer and choose a perk/s to help alleviate that. Clowns biggest issue is pre-dropping (technically is map traversal but.....) so that why I bring brutal to help with that.
