Why create a killer who can easily slug and tunnel people.

I met a real toxic one today, running knock out, forced hesitation and some other BS perks. I was afraid that this was one way people could abuse his power.

If you got tunneled with that build by Singularity you would have got tunneled by anyone. He does not do anything better than anyone.

  • What do you expect? I mean they have a SpongeBob profile pic so either they are a kid or worse an adult with a SpongeBob pic.

  • IDK I want Alien or Pennywise really bad.

Probably Resident evil volume 3 lol. Actually Lady D would be awesome ngl.

As the title states, I have been gone for quite a long time. I am getting back into it, but with Dead Hard and, to a lesser extent, Iron Will getting gutted... idk what to run on survivor.

Currently running Adrenaline, Lithe, Windows of Opportunity and Detective's Hunch/Alert/Distortion/Prove Thyself. Last slot is generally reserved for whatever I feel like would be fun.

I am looking at prestiging some of the new survivors, but all the perks seem kind of bad? I will be reading a perk and think 'oh, that sounds good.' and then there is this HUGE caveat that just makes it useless or horrible.

In contrast, with killer, I have seen several new perks that look really fun and strong to use. So it feels easier to figure out a build from the new perks.

I am open to suggestions for perks to use on either side, but I am struggling the most with survivor perks!

I get more value now with DH then I did before the last nerf. It's not as strong as back in 2019 when the perk was a broken mess but it's still useable today.

Here are my top 3 survivor builds right now.

DH, WOO, Prove, Bond with a medkit with extra charges to heal team faster. My "Utility" build as it has everything I need.

Stakeout, Hyperfocus, streetwise, Built to last with 32 charge TB with 20 extra charges. My "GG EZ" Build.

Botany, Desperate measures, We'll make it, and WoO with a beamer. The speed you can heal team is absurd. I call this my "Savior" Build.

    When I'm bored:

    Flashbang, Blast Mine, Q&Q, Head-on.

    Power Struggle, Tenacity, Flip-Flop, Unbreakable.

Any means Necessary, Smash hit, WoO, SB

Nah, I'll just play a killer with a power.

This. Could not put it better myself.

I went back to my Freddy, Wesker, and Onryo. Which should tell you everything you need to know if I ran back to Freddy.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I think it may be a higging thing for me. But I'm also scared to get stuck. I swear every loop I try to hug tight I ALWAYS get stuck.

That's because they are adding Huntress hatchet collision to everything nowadays. gets worse with each update.

  • I'm pretty sure new gameplay mechanics are heavily asked for. They could be testing something out. This game gets stale quick and is in desperate need of something new (besides characters and outfits). Relax and enjoy the game.

  • Nice. Things like this are rare.

My best was a line with Party Streamer, Pudding, Party Streamer. I was ecstatic.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

    I genuinely haven’t had one

    No.

I find him fun to play but would rather eat a bullet than go against him. They all play the same because what else are they going to do.

  • Odd bulbs are not worth the BP. I have noticed toolboxes are on the rise though. I have a build Stakeout, Hyperfocus, Streetwise, and Built to last with a 52 charge commodius that leaves me feeling bad for some killers. Fun build though and comes in clutch in some of my solo games.

Outside of that build though I still bring a Med-kit almost every match and just heal my team with it.

  • Going to play some more with him tonight.

As survivor though it's a blast sucking the soul out of Singu with EMP's.

I see no difference. There was still EMP's whenever I wanted.

  • I am either the luckiest person in the world or there is an echo chamber here. I have had 2 games where the killer grabbed a 3-gen from start that we had to break. One was a Hag (can't blame her) and one a Huntress (weird).

Maybe I am just lucky? Or maybe perhaps maybe there is some exaggeration of how many times these "Hostage" trials happen. Please don't come at me with a streamer video showing one game....does not have anything to do with my point.

Started the game new a week or so ago, and learned pallets used to give invincibility when dropping them

With all the buffs killers had to base break speed and chase perks like spirit breaking (?) wouldn't it make sense to make pallets better with it?

I'm not saying the chase killers are OP, but besides windows I keep running out of pallets

It's just a new survivor thing. I promise you there are more than enough pallets on every map now. Right now it's most likely what @Annso_x mentioned with your teammates just plowing through them. If your teammates not in chase was on gens.....You can pre-drop over and over and the game would be over before you ran out of pallets. Teammates not on gens when they should be is your main issue.

  • That's cool. Just speaking in general. I run this build sometimes too. I expect to be slugged though when running it. It's what I would do in that situation and I'm one of those nice killers handicapping myself to give a fair enjoyable game. Would be nice if that was not the killers responsibility. If only we had....nah I'm not going to say it.

Did missing something in the patch notes? I main Cenobite, I use Franklin's and it no longer works.

One of the major benefits of Franklin's was that it allowed Cenobite to knock the box out of survivor's hands regardless of health state. Now it doesn't.

I can't seem to find anything in the patch notes or anywhere else that mentions this change. I'm curious as to when and why?

I'm sure someone can give you a link to this. Yes it was changed with the last update. I know you clearly state you play and love Cenobite but this changed was needed for a long time. The solo killer (Cenobite) already dismantles most solos and franklin/hoarder pinhead made this even worse.

    Good riddance.

  • @AngelOfHope2017 said:

I only see that perk used maybe once every 20 games. It's not that big of a deal.

I have seen this in 2 games in my over 4000 hr career (knockout). On top of that OP didn't want to be hooked anyhow with that build she brought. Not saying that was specifically the reason or that it's ok to bleed out but that is sometimes the only counter to that build. If slugging gets you bent enough to create a forum post just saying running an anti hook build is not the way to go.

  • @Zeon_99 said:

I'm not sure if this is intended, but If you heal a survivor with another survivor, you only get half of your perk. If this is intentional then I'm not sure why such a niche perk has that limitation that you can't control. I feel like if I get the unhook and I heal them to full, I should get the perk to activate even if someone interferes. The perk is already a huge risk anyways and it only activates twice in a trial so I feel like this should be adjusted.

I had a slotted build for renewal and swapped it because of this. There are already too many things that can go wrong and lose value so this was the head shot to the perk for me.

  • I don't see a difference. Same as always to me.

My Killer games: 20-30 pallets each map

My Survivor games: 10-15 pallets each map.

Oh and don't forget. Teammates getting double tapped 10 seconds into match. Then suiciding because 3 gens didn't pop during their 10 second chase.

Toolboxes for you, toolboxes for me, toolboxes every ######### where.

I'm tired of killers playing like jerks when we're not even finished one gen and they want to just face camp someone

fine sure turn it off at the end but I don't care anymore that you wanna ruin other people's fun at the start of the game

My first game last night was against a Huntress. She caught a Cheryl first. Proxied the hook and still went after the Cheryl instead of the injured unhooker. Proceeded to tunnel her until death. We got all gens done, Feng/Me ran out the gate to give our 3rd teammate who was in chase a chance for hatch. Huntress caught her and carried her to gate?

So you tunnel/camp Cheryl ruining her match only to then let someone leave at end?

I logged off. To many trolls, sweat lords, and toddlers playing DBD these days.

    What?

Can't be worse then what we've had.

This isn't the first time people asked for characters to be able to spend BP on them when they are killswitched, yet nothing was done about it and the feedback was pushed away or ignored. You don't have to killswitch character to the point where you can't even select them in menu, just don't allow to press the play button with them so people can customize and spend BP on them. Funny thing is that store for them is of course opened so you can buy cosmetics for characters you can't even play or level up.

That's convenient 🙄. Wesker is one of my most played killers as well so I am very upset I can't stockpile cakes on him. I know he gets a lot of hate (for weird reasons) but he is really the best designed killer imo. Fun to play, Fun to play against/counterplay, strong, good add-ons, perk synergy, and MOST IMPORTANT he is great on console. I don't feel like I am being robbed playing him on controller vs M&K.

Best work BHVR has put into a killer. Especially as of late.

I was specifically responding to DBDVulture. He's the one who said that the proof that Wraith sucks is that DBD professional streamers don't like him. Here I pointed out that a very well known streamer (Scott Jund) has a great opinion of Wraith, which contradicts his argument.

    That's weird?

I received a notification that you quoted me. Otherwise I would of had no idea. I noticed a little bit ago that your first comment was on here twice. Perhaps one was accidently responding to me. Either way after a certain time frame has passed the thread should not be commented on. At least that how it used to be.

Have you heard of the streamer/youtuber Scott Jund? He mained Wraith for a while, and had his biggest winstreak with him.

If you doubt the Wraith is viable, I suggest you watch Scott's videos on Wraith.

I'm not sure why you are commenting on a thread from over a month ago (Mods problem) but no one cares about what Scott does with Wraith. Someone who plays the game for a living could never represent the player base as a whole. ANY killer can be played at a high level in the right hands. Does not mean the killer is not weaker than most. I have fantastic results with Trapper. You don't see me claiming he is strong as it would sound ridiculous.

Agreed. Although it is sad to see such a promising killer in this fragile state. Singularity could be really strong but not as long as survivors have a way to completely deactivate his entire power and even if they don't nothing much is going to happen. The over cloak is very good against panicking survivors but anyone that knows the numbers will just run away and leave that killer powerless.

Such a shame. Especially when you consider how hard this killer really is. So many things have to work out in its favor and even then playing M1 killer and not using the power might be more time efficient. I have no idea how they could think this killer was fine.

To much counter play for such a weak power. I could care less if he is d-tier or s-tier would I do care about is being able to use the killer power. Not have the power be a hinderance. Almost every time I get his power to work each time I tell myself that took too much time and could have done better with any other killer.

    Yes it's very sad.

  • @DrFrozen said:

I was really excited for this killer to come out but I've played a few matches and I can tell that his state in my opinion isn't that good. Survivors always have their EMPs ( too short cooldown ). Time between each shoot on pods is a little bit too long. Survivors have large room to counterplay this killer so probably his power only allows him to observe survivors doing gens.

I'd love to see less boxes ( maybe 3 ) with 60 or 75 seconds cooldown on EMP. Additionaly Idk why infection is removed on hook, this should be removed as well.

Yes the EMP's are over tuned. They are nerfing them a bit next week but I really don't think it will change much. I have accepted this killer just won't be very good. I know I know in the right hands just don't. That literally describes every killer. No matter how you use this killer it's always going to be better to use someone else. Trap/web just use Trapper/Hag, 3 gen just use SM/Knight, teleporter just use ANY other teleporting killer, chase killer just use any other killer.

His over cloak is good in theory but 4.7 seconds (1.7 second wake up) is just to short. 1.7 seconds is more than long enough to drop/vault meaning they would have to be in a complete dead zone to get value or be bots. Actually now that I mention that the bots can even beat this killer. His cosmetic game is terrible as well.

He is the perfect killer for solo survivor mains though (like myself). If you can't escape versus Singu you weren't going to escape anyone.

  • Que up the streamer did this. The issue with this killer is no matter what strategy you do there is another who can do it better.

Ran some custom matches last night to test some of my theories out. I had the team I was going against keep the pops attached to them the whole match to see if it mattered at all (so no emps). Let's just say it didn't. Now I will admit these were some very good survivors but over cloak is too short to make much of a difference. If trials weren't being speed run each match you could tear through map resources and take over but there is not enough time in most trials.

Also since MMR seems to not exist most of us play better opponents than streamers.

  • Every killer is strong in the right hands. Outside of a rework I don’t see how this killer could ever be oppressive.

not with Maps the way they are anyway

  • His add one are broken…..compared to PH and Freddy’s I mean.

This is night two of playing singularity and I'm still having a really rough time of it. Usually I don't ask these types of questions since all the other killers I picked up fairly well and understood them after a night of playing but this guy has been a pain to get better at. I can't end chases, pressure anyone, infect anyone, the ones I do infect jump EMP it off before I can do anything and over all just doing really badly at him. Meanwhile I watch otz and other streamers play him and they seem to dominate as him and I honestly don't know what they doing that I'm not.

So I'm open to tips and build suggestions so I at least have a better time playing him. If this continues tho this be the first chapter I would ever regret buying bc I can't play the killer at all.

I have been running Brutal, No where to hide, Eruption, and POP. I loved pop back in the day it was a staple in most of my builds. It is so nice I can finally hear the gen delete again when popping it. Such a great feeling.

Tonight I am going to run my SM totem build so I will let you know how that goes. I don't expect it to be unstoppable like on SM but I do expect it to be good. Devour, Undying, Pentimento, and BF/HG.

If I am having a ruff night my go to build on most killers is Corrupt, Jolt, STBL, and Sloppy. This build has just about everything an M1 killer needs (which outside of Wesker is all I play mostly).

  • @HugTheHag said:

You can't use your item if you carry an EMP on PC either, I think it's intended !

My own recommandation for Singularity :

When you switch cameras on multiple biopods, come back to your own body facing the direction of the last biopod you exited (or have killer instinct on the biopod for a couple seconds). It will make orienting yourself easier, and if you just saw a survivor somewhere, you will know in which direction they were. Instead of having to guess from which of the 3 corridors cams it was or having to recognize a conspicuous rock in the background to have a clue where you saw the survivors.

This would be great. The amount of missed chances to plug a survivor (lol) because I can't figure out which way I should be looking fast enough stinks. Now that I think about it I have the same issue with Sadako tv's and Freddy coming out of gens. Freddy's is not as bad though.

  • @HugTheHag said:

(Don't think you're new to the game but in case you skipped last year's anniversary) :

It looks like it'll work like last year : there are pillards with an "invitation" appearing in the map. When you pick it up, you either have to power the gates (as survivor) or play the game to the end (as killer) to get a cosmetic reward from the anniversary set : 6 masks for survivor and 6 masks for killer. The mask you get is random, but you'll eventually get all of them. There are multiple pillars in the map, everyone can get the cosmetic in any given game, provided they find an invitation and survive long enough.

It looks like killers are going to get an event addon that allows them to break pallets quicker (kind of like during halloween they get the blight serum), and it looks like survivors are getting an event item that allows them to block a window.

I don't know any more of how the 7th is going to go ! =)

Seems that way. I just want the stackable cakes to work properly. I still remember rushing home from work one year and the cakes did not stack. UHHH the disappointment. I look forward to the anniversary every year to see how many I can stockpile (while using them of course).

Thing is, I'm usually the most level-headed when it comes to new chapter impressions, I'm usually right there giving every doubt it's benefit, finding the good in whatever mixed bag they give us. I can't see it in this killer at all. This is the first time I've been instantly disappointed, and can't find a way to redeem it.

I've played against him several times as a solo survivor. I haven't failed to have constant access to EMPs, and I haven't failed to completely delete his power when he tries to use it. The only times he did any damage was when he stopped using his power and just played as a powerless M1 killer. I've played as him a few times, and haven't been able to teleport to any survivor, because as soon as I activate a pod, it gets instantly EMP'ed.

It seems from watching other streamers who manage to use him well, that his power only works in chase, as in you shoot survivors directly. This simply isn't feasible on controller. He's Trickster all over again.

I have never complained about a new killer on release. I have been on these forums for years too. This killer is just.....I can't even describe it. Then there are people claiming "fire pods mid chase and he's strong" like what? I am already doing that. They vault/drop pallet/etc I fire one on the wall and they dip out while I'm in the camera. So your telling me (not you) fire pod in loop, switch to camera, lock on, switch back, get los, teleport. That is the fastest way to get a down using your power assuming emp's don't go off to boot?

I could kill that survivor in that same situation with just about every other killer so much faster without relying on all these variables. If that's the best way to play him that is not ok. This game is too fast paced currently to have to play a hand of poker in chase.

Then you got the random people complaining about people complaining. That's always nice. This forum is for feedback. Devs can't/won't change anything if they don't know there is an issue.

Thoughts? B-tier isn't really ordered correctly, mostly has killers I've barely used for the bottom 5 or so.

I'm not really losing hair over Spirit being 3rd over Wesker but I am losing brain cells trying to figure out why Plague/Artist is ahead of him. He is at least in the right tier.

Right now (RIGHT NOW) I would have Singu the only killer in D-tier. Playing him the last 2 days really made me appreciate Trapper. I have always felt people were lost/confused when they put Mike in D-tier. Could he use an update? No doubt. However the insta-down alone should be minimum C-tier. Every killer behind Singu I could kill you light years faster with (Yes even my console Trickster). I am getting the hand of cameras and teleporting with him he has lots of potential but requires way to much time/effort to tag only for it to be deleted in 2 seconds.

Don't even get me started on over cloak. I have activated this 3-6 times every trial and yet to see any value. Why does it last for 5 seconds? Why does he get slowed so much when teleporting? Almost does nothing unless you some how teleport cross map through your cameras. Which by the way you have more chances of a unicorn walking out your ass.

Other than all that I like your tier list. If I wanted to nit pick some more (I do) Wraith if in C-tier should be the head of C-tier.

  • Wouldn’t know. My first match with a face camping Huntress. Second match was a hard-core tunneling blight. My third match was a knight with a no Mither teammate.

What do you want lmao?? Killers can’t have it all, they act like the 10 seconds of added gen time was nothing but act like 15 seconds to activate bloodlust is half the game. Let’s not act like a 30-45 second chase is super long. That’s enough time to activate bloodlust twice.

I agree with the overreaction. I would like to say though 15 seconds of the killers time is a full minute of survivor time. People seem to forget this aspect of DBD. 30-45 seconds of chase is big if all four survivors do that + are on gens. One 40 second chase is 120 seconds of gen time (40 seconds x 3 survivors). Time matters much much more on the killer side. If you have to rely on bloodlust to get downs there is an issue. Hate when BL is brought up as it already means the survivors are doing well.

The issue comes from teammates going down in 10 seconds which to this day I can't understand how this happens or how they are even in lobbies with 4000 hour players.

My original point was that this is the first strong survivor perk in 3-4 chapters.

Leave it alone, buff stuff elsewhere.

Would 100% agree if the devs would actually do that. We all know they don't nor ever will. So all broken things need fixed (Nurse/Blight for instance).

I do think this is all overreaction though. I just don't like piss poor reasons not to nerf/buff things.

You can still give it below red grades if you got 9 or more hooks (should be +2 pips). Personally I try not care about pips anymore as the reward is not that big, how much you have to work for them.

IDK about none of that. All I know is there are too many variable in a match and the loss of a hook/kill can lose you the double depending on what else happened in the match.

  • Yes if the killer is not face camping. I will die for/with all of my teammates. We rode in together...we will die together.

  • I have always thought DS should work on both unhooks and be deleted in end game (I got tired of playing fair and being punished in end game). They did the endgame but forgot the rest sorry guys. I was around for offensive DS and I don't want that back so perhaps shorten timer? Or deactivates after entering a locker?

  • I used to give hatch every single game to a survivor I felt played the best....or was Nancy 😁.

Now I don't because it makes me lose the +2 pip. I wish they would rework pips and delete d-pips. When I hit Rank 1 I close hatch (survivor always think I am trolling) and let them leave out gate.

LOL. Time will tell. I have 2 mill saved up but it's for the event BP offerings could care less about BHVR creation # 3 in a row.

  • @luvcraft said:

since surv MMR is based solely on whether or not you escape, doing a lot of challenges that involve aggro-ing the killer and subsequently getting hooked (get chased for 120 seconds, palette stun the killer, etc.) dropped my MMR to a level where survivors escape less, and that snowballed to drop my MMR to a level where survivors never escape, no matter how bad the killer is. Now I'm at the point where I'm the only one doing gens, and I'm constantly getting left on first hook until I die, while the other survivors spend the entire match hiding in lockers.

I'm getting matched against the noob-est M1 killers, but my fellow survivors are even worse. Last match I chased an injured Feng in a giant circle around the map trying to heal her and never was able to catch up to her, only for her to run back to the killer and immediately get downed.

As a killer, MMR works great; if I get stomped a bunch, and my MMR drops, then the game gets easier because I get lower MMR survivors, and I can bring my MMR back up again. But as a survivor, my MMR depends on how good my team is, and the more it drops, the worse my team is. So even if I solo repair 3 gens and heal 3 teammates, if we don't open the gates that counts as a loss and lowers my MMR. ☹️

I wonder if the devs have ever tried playing the game as a test solo survivor with a rock-bottom zero MMR to see how the game plays solo at that level and see if they can get out of that hole.

Well good thing MMR does not work. Just bad luck sounds like. 90% of my play over the last 6-9 months have been solo and there are bad days for sure but I'm still doing fine. getting ######### teammates will always be a thing we have to power through.

  • A screen shot does not tell me enough to make a judgement here. If everything you say is true (sorry I don't auto believe people) then I am sorry you had a bad experience. Players are d-bags on both sides mostly for no apparent reason.

this forum is taken over by killer mains.

"you can't survive without playing as a team"

    You shouldn't be able too.

  • I got his daily 3 times last week so 3 of those games could have been me? He is still a beast in chase but that's it.

  • I'm glad they are attempting to reduce camping but IMO this won't be good enough against camping or to lower kill rates enough to matter. Not to mention they are still not addressing spreading hooks. They need to make spreading hooks viable instead of a handicap before camping can truly be lowered enough to matter. I will get a headache trying to come up with a way to stop tunneling so I will leave that to others.
