I would like to shout out my solo lobbies today. Made the best of some questionable killer gameplay.
Most impressive was an insidious bubba with a basement build. First survivor held on hook long as possible to allow us to finish 4 gens. Jane took chase while me and Rebecca popped final and we split gates. Jane died but imo getting 2 out was amazing in solos against basement bubba.

I don't know who Ray Charles is.
I also been saying that kills and escapes shouldn't be the answer to MMR either. Cause all it does is increases players ego and makes them think their better when their really not.
I don't know who Ray Charles is. 😲😲😲
Agree on rest.

Thalita, Nancy, and Sheva are my favorites.
Feng, Nea, and Felix are my least favorite. All for different reasons.
Shout out to Haddie. I really love this character and one day I hope to dump millions of BP to give her the world.

Yeah, not yet give it time they haven't shown up yet.
But sure my 2 cents is stop camping and tunneling you don't need to camp and tunnel to get kills. Play fair and you'll be place where you need to be. Yes you can win the match by playing fair.
Camping and tunneling only increases your MMR and puts you against others that you shouldn't be going against.
Play to win you'll go against others that are playing to win.
Play for fun and you'll have fun.
If you have to get kills/win then by all means keep camping and tunneling I'm not stopping you.
I said something like this earlier but then it dawned on me that this theory only works if MM works. Ray Charles can see that it doesn't so what now?

I would put my 2 cents in but, I don't feel like getting jumped because I'm telling you to play to lose.😂
As shocking as it is that is pretty much what I said. Have not been jumped yet....care to help with that?

Something that does not get addressed enough is generator speeds. Prove thyself can knock 30 seconds of a gen without a toolbox. While some killers struggle with map pressure it feels like gens pop way too quickly.
The new scavenger perk is extremely concerning as it allow toolboxes to be replenished.
Coconut made a video covering this, while there has been an added slowdown, using the toolbox or having multiple people on the gen will counter that. (https://youtu.be/g0v4xRwvSts)
When multiple people run prove thyself and split into pairs it can become a really big problem as it can be difficult to keep up without losing 2 generators in 30 seconds. Not to mention that it is one of the most used survivor perks.
Could we possibly see either an increase to generator speeds or a nerf to Prove Thyself as it feels like were heading into an ugly genrush meta and this cannot fly under the radar any longer.
Gen progression perks are a problem but Prove does not knock off 30 seconds. Not to mention I will take 2 survivors on each gen all day long. They will most likely lose doing that. Just think a bit harder on this.

😂😂😂
I played Wesker exclusively when he released and one of my builds was Distressing, Infectious, Starstruck, Agitation and the hate was real. The build worked quite well on most maps but bonus points if you use Midwich/The game offerings.

I guess it's not that I absolutely MUST get a 3k/4k or else, it's more I want to finish a game at least feeling that I did decent. If I leave a game with only 1 or 2 hooks (or god forbid zero) I'm gonna feel really crap, but if I can facecamp my way to like 4 or 5 hooks and maybe a 1k, it still feels bad, but it takes some of the edge off.
I know against a group like that I'll never actually 'win' unless they're super altruistic and even then they'll need to mess up a LOT, but I just don't wanna end it with a single hook state.
First off I did mention that most of my post was not aimed at you. Secondly this is exactly my point though. You face camp your way to a 1k-2k to feel better only to allow the opening to play the exact same caliber next game. Now fortunately for you MM does not work so you have a chance to play your caliber or lower next game lol but if MM worked my point stands. Hmmm maybe I should camp?
-
His hooks should have been changed a long time ago. I am always looking for new mechanics as this game is stale asf currently so instead of "nah forget the mechanics because of X" perhaps fix X? Cages need updated to count as regular hooks. he can send you to one to save some time but hook/unhook perks should activate. That's actually the main reason I no longer play him is because I feel limited on perk choice. It also feels terrible to not be able to use the perks you brought because PH cages denies your entire build on survivor. They also could have put a range around cages or hooks where he can't use PoTD even with add-ons.
In the end its faster an easier to just say F that instead of making the game better. These lazy ways of thinking is what has a lot of veterans bored right now. I will say once the game modes comes out that should help drastically with those issues....assuming they are good anyhow.

Can’t you still camp at like.. 16 meters though?
I despise camping as much as the next but 16 meters? Is that really camping? What can you do with that? Free unhook is what 16 meters is. Proxy at best.

What is the killer supposed to do if all 4 survivors are just way better at looping than they are?
I have games where it takes me ages to get a down, gotta wait till bloodlust 2 or 3 before I can eventually get one. Clearly I can't just go for chases and play normally because there's not enough time for that, so I usually facecamp at that point. I know face-camping isn't going to get me the win, but it usually allows me to get a few more hook states and sometimes even a kill, so it's way more effective than chasing.
With face-camping getting essentially removed soon, what else can the killer do if chasing isn't really an option?
I actually had a game last night that was similar to your experience. They were all 4 good I was attempting to hook each of them (To build my NWO) but there was a chain tile spawn that I personally never seen before on Lery's. There was back to back vaults into rooms, pallet in between, and no doorway to cut them off. I was of course Freddy and his snares just were not enough to shut this tile down. They all ran to it and without bamboozle I could not get them there. I just got the points I could. I did not camp any of the 4-5 hooks I got nor did I camp the hook I got in end game.
Like @Aven_Fallen mentioned camping gets me no where except better opponents (assuming you get kills with the camp) so I see no reason to do it. If you can't kill your current survivors without tunneling/camping why on earth would you want harder ones? There are games you will not play well, stupid maps/tiles will spawn and you will lose. Just go next I just can't understand what people don't get about this. In a game that gives you practically nothing for winning why does everyone have to win so badly? Most of this was not pointed at you OP just the community in general.
-
Agreed. 4 min bleed out is rough and could use a lookin but outside of that it's legit.
-
Make the dream world actually matter is where I would start. His add-ons most certainly need looked at. Freddy and PH have the worst set of add-ons in the game. I would also make snares AND fake pallets base kit. Allow him to switch between the two allowing 5 of each.
Gamechanger update? He can teleport to finished gens during end game. He loses him primary power in end game. Can't think of any other killer that happens too.

Joking. I had a game or two recently where it allowed me to keep repairing as well.

I have quite a bit of playtime on Trapper and I personally wouldn't want much changed. I agree with @malloymk about the grass so that I don't have times where I feel I have no power (Game, Erie, Borgo) but other than that traps in lockers. I'm good after that and would find him perfect. I really want to use Darkness Revealed on him lol.

Just to clarify something here, there's no information available publicly yet on how this feature will be brough to the game. Making assumptions based on an early prototype test, which we were very clear was an early test for feedback, isn't helpful. You are assuming that slugging will be part of the feature, but there is no confirmation from us about that.
It's probably better to wait until we are ready to discuss this in more detail before panicking or assuming the worse!

I suspected this might be the overwhelming answer, but that's still a worthwhile one insofar as it helps me understand the opinion better.
I absolutely disagree, of course. She absolutely has a power without 3-gens, she has a surprising amount of variety in builds and application.
Agreed. She can also camp/hold totems like no other.
Jokes aside I have had great success with playing her as a chase killer. I drop drones in the strongest spots of the map and go to work. The haste made all the difference in my games as SM. I have no issues with her. The 2 or 3 SM I played against played her the same why I do.
-
It's not a common thing for 4 survivors to be alive in end game but it all depends on my mood honestly. If I am trying to build up BP or need pips I have. Over the course of my career I have turned plenty of those scenarios into 2-4k games. The majority of time though I do not. For a couple of reasons actually.
Why? You are not really rewarded in this game for winning so what you gain by camping last hook? I'll tell you.....Harder opponents. Do you really want those if the current survivors you face have 4 alive in end game? I will usually wave to the survivors as they leave.
This is the exact reason the excuse of "3 gens popped first chase time to tunnel/camp" makes me laugh so hard. Well get used to it then. Tunneling/camping will result in harder opponents and you can't handle the ones you got. But naw keep boosting kill rates instead.

I just bought a Thalita outfit 😍

Pentimento, Undying, Devour, and HG/BF is the only hex build I run. I every once in a while try the Plaything/Pentimento combo but it's a toss up. I'm a big fan of BF and Devour hexes but most are not worth a look.
I have played more than a few hex builds with SM and they never make it through the totems. Devour ends the game quickly once 3rd token hits. I don't do it anymore though because as an M1 gamer I expect a bit of a challenge and SM hex build don't hit the spot. Feels cheap asf but perhaps that's the solo survivor in me talking.

I play with 70% sensitivity for the record on killer. 100 on survivor if you care to know.

I'm fine with toolboxes. BNP needs to go, Auto heal (needle), Blight (at LEAST his add-ons), Nurse needs deleted (or at least a real nerf), Ultra tombstone (along with Myers buff), MDR+DCB, gen progression perks need toned down or deleted, Camping, tunneling, MASS slugging (or at least lower bleed out timer).
I can think of more but this is just off the dome. I truly believe the game would be in the best shape ever if they started tackling these in return player count would rise instead of fighting to stay current or lowering. Notice Exhaustion is not on this list as I truly believe they are in great shape now.
I will also put this here....Deadlock is perfectly balanced. It's only 30 seconds, 1 generator, and only activates 4 times a trial.
Edit: I would also like to see the CD of Thrilling Tremors and Oppression reduced. I believe they are way to high in current state of the game. just a personal request thank you.

Trickster is the one only killer I'd consider absolutely unplayable with a controller. All other killers can be learned over time and get decent with, but not him.
Over 4000 hours on Xbox controller and can without a shadow of doubt you are 100% right. Trickster is the ONLY killer I will not recommend on controller. He can be played just will be the most frustrating and unsatisfying experience in DBD. Saddest part? I can still get a 50% win rate with him since most survivors are butt juice.
-
I rarely ever see it. When BBQ gave BP my team would hop in lockers, hide behind gens, try to get within 40 meters, etc to counter it. No one is doing that anymore consistently so not really sure what you are on about. So hate to say it you were wrong as it was the most ran perk with BP and now it's not.

I think they were nerfed because they were a "monster at high MMR", not because any 1 particular video/streamer. That being said, I'm pretty sure 1 person averaging a 3k may be enough to skew the stats for all 6 Twins players out there...
Yes but we all know "monster at high MMR" meant someone in particular and was nerfed accordingly. Obviously this won't be admitted but the timing was no coincidence.

I have had this issue where others in my house on same internet/hardware but they are playing and I can't. I have seen different error messages each time to. Yesterday I kept getting "Cannot connect to store" error. I had to sign out of my account and sign back in to get to play.

They know how the community feels about these maps and they boost the odds? This seems political IMO. This rubs me the wrong way. Feels like they are trying to lower kill rates I mean why else would they do this?
-
Wouldn't buffing survivors if the killer hooks the same survivor back to back help? Let's say for example survivors repair 5-10% faster if the killer is not spreading hooks? Like wise survivors repair slower/Mini GE (gen block) if they are spreading solve the issue of tunneling. Suddenly tunneling is not the best strat and killer lower tier killers can finally get the buffs they need. Wouldn't game health be at an all time high? This idea took me 5 seconds to think of so please tell me I am missing something.

Wait, I don't remember steam rolling anyone <.< Was I a survivor and the stars just aligned and I managed to loop well? I'm by no means a great player at this game. I feel bad because I don't like steam rolling anyone unless they're obviously toxic. I much prefer to be friends after some chases and meme-ing.
I did not watch the whole game. He was learning Blight, got RPD, and the team you were on 4 outed him (roughly 1 year ago? Maybe). You guys were not toxic from what I watched but he did down you by gate which he picked up to try and use you for more hooks but I told him no.

Anyhow I actually want to share a story about a game I watched my son play. This was back when I first started playing so I could give 2 shits about content creators (honestly still don't) and didn't know any. He picks Demo and in the lobby he starts screaming he is playing against one of the most popular streamers. He gets all excited and puts his big boy pants on. I obviously can't share the name of the streamer but to this day he is still one of the top creators of DBD. Anyhow he struggles most of the match but ends up turning their cocky altruistic plays against them. They are all 4 on the ground so he hooks two of them which were the only 2 hooks in the area. So I told him to leave the remaining two on the ground.
Once the match ended he hurried over to his stream only to find out he was being ######### on by the streamer and his party. I honestly felt bad for him as he really liked this streamer and was shocked he acted this way. I mean I guess I understand a little bit as they are supposed to be very good at the game since they for the most part do nothing else and they were taken down by a 13 year old Demo. He also had a game where he got steamrolled by @Huge_Bush and crew on RPD. To make matters worse he caught that little Claudette in the end game and I made him drop her lol.

i asked why and he/she said there is no way around trappers traps (never mind that the survivors were escaping the traps without getting hurt when i wasnt near in 4 occasions...i told them to just watch their feet and be mindful of their looping and there are worse killers to face in the game.
so i realize this survivor chose the map, complained about a meme trapper build, and then said if i was a real killer i would have gotten a 4k that i suck and i was trash ^_^. all i said was gg and play killer sometime if you think it is easy.
their last reply was why would i play killer?

I thought I was losing my mind but this happened twice I was facing a survivor who used dead hard they saved so no biggie but then later one it was two people left a Dwight and David(he has Dead Hard) the Dwight had been saved by someone else long ago and it wasn't David reason I know this is because Dwight had been on hook once meaning even if David saved him he technically would have only one dead hard use which he used up. Now what gets weirder is the fact that I was chasing him he used Dead Hard when I know clearly he shouldn't have it has he never saved anyone and he was on death hook. Did they revert Dead Hard to its old self and never changed the description? This has happened twice now to me where someone dead hards but never saved anyone.
I'm sorry but wouldn't it make sense to look at the perk description at endgame or perhaps look the perk up before making a forum post? Not trying to be mean but fully understand it sounds mean apologies.

I was queued up with my friend and we got matched against a Legion and our teammates were Feng and Nea on The Game. The Feng and Nea were definitely queued together based off their similar names and both gave up early, leaving my duo and I in an unwinnable 2v1. However, this Legion was kind enough to let us farm and leave through the exit gates. We did pallet stuns and he used his feral frenzy on us a lot to farm BP. I gave him my flashlight as I was about to escape to show him my gratitude. I ended up double pipping from that game and I made it to iri 1 survivor.
Honestly, I just thought I should share this wholesome moment because it really made my day. Thanks again to that Legion for that experience <3

unless the survivors are smart about which gens they start with, and preemptively break up any 3 gens. cant patrol 3 gens on opposite ends of mother"s dwelling.
3 gens popping in first chase is also a massive demoralizer, thats a significant chunk of objective in very little time. I get your point, but its not really that simple unless they allow a 3 gen to happen, and even then that can be pretty boring depending on how often it happens. Either way, hearing those three dings so early just feels really bad.
I understand that. Not really my issue. My issue is the majority who reacts like the match is over because of it. Could it be? Sometimes.....most times the party is just getting started.
-
Why is the 3 gen popping first chase crap showing up in so many threads? OP I'm sorry you are struggling but you are going for 12 hooks with m1 killers so things won't always be peaches and cream. Not to mention losing 3 gens means nothing. As each gen is completed your responsibility decreases. Meaning the map shrinks for you with each gen completed. The amount of stalemates I have caused at 2 or less gens is overwhelmingly high. Just remember you are handicapping yourself playing the way you are (which is fine I do the same) but the game will not always play out the way you want it to doing this.
Relax and go next.

What are you supposed to against something like as Slinger? That's an honest question because chases took forever and they out ran my dang spear. By endgame I was just like "Yep, they got it, I'm gonna go break palettes"
This isn't a shame post I'm just genuinely confused as to how you play Slinger when everyone is far faster than you in basically every chase and you don't have the ability to attempt a quick scope.
I would focus on getting better with him. Slinger has some weaknesses no doubt but chase is not one of them (yes even after his nerf). I do quite well with Slinger honestly always have even on Xbox. Just keep practicing and everything will fall into place.
If you could win games with killers you don't have mastered, without regression to boot....game would be lame asf.

I'm so sick and tired of killers hookcamping in every match. I'm losing pips back to back cus of slugging, tunneling, hookcamping at 5 gens, or tunneling then mori afterwards. Now I hope they add anti-slug mechanic to the game too to further decrease this toxic slugging playstyle.
I personally always felt that if they rewarded the survivor for not being able to play the game like extra BP/Safety pip at worst it would sting a lot less. The issue is you can get camped out the match first hook and leave with 2000 BP and de-pip. If you are being tunneled from start of match and run the killer for five gens you still have less than 10k and a de-pip. Adding mechanics against these starts is the right call no doubt but fixing the BP/PIP in these situations is just as important IMO. Now that I think of it Depipping needs to go anyhow.

The only thing I think cheap about noed and I don't blame killers for this, but I played a game where I was camped on hook and the killer grabbed someone saving me off the hook. Then wapped the other dude with noed.
Something just didn't sit right with me when that happened. Again, not a killer issue but a game design issue. Maybe I have more of a problem with hook grabs. Not sure.
Yes I truly believe it's time to look into healthy grabs in general. Perhaps generator grabs should stay but healthy hook grabs is another help in the battle against camping.

Title says it all really, players are by far the biggest problem. Given the basic mechanics of the game it's possible for both sides to abuse mechanics to make life miserable for the other. Killers can camp tunnel and 3 gen to force wins or use cheap perks like NOED for easy kills. Survs if they have a team of strong players can make life absolutely miserable for most killers.
And people perpetuate it. A killer gets a team of clicky, teabaggy sweats, gets a frustrating 0/1k game, takes it out on the next weakish surv team they come across, hits on hook, nods as they die, the survs then teabag in gate at the next time they manage to survive a game. And round and round. Idk what the purpose of this rant is but maybe next time you dominate a game as killer then let one surv go, or next time you see a killer off in exit gate, drop them a present instead of clicking and bagging.
100% agree. There is no end in sight though which is sad. Fortunately MHR has kept me entertained and busy and now my cheap ass finally bought Dead Island 2 so it's GG for now.
Side note: Can't believe NOED is still considered cheap. What does the perk need now a 30 second deletion timer? Good lord people.

Maybe half my matches involve a tunneling and it's guaranteed with Wesker's and Blight's which is ######### hilarious to me. Camping is extremely rare. Proxy camping I give to craps about because it involves game sense and right timing which to me translates into skill.
I have noticed a pattern that when I bring my anti tunnel build of DH, OTR, DS, and WOO I never get tunneled. I have yet to fail a DH since the resent nerf....everyone just swings now it's great.
