    Soon guys soon.

Infectious Fright Perk for chain survivor chase and split pressure no more.

One Survivor at a time. So tunneling strait is the way.

    Congratulations?

Why is this question even in the survey?

So, if enough people answer "Well, I have no problem playing with a hacker when he is a fellow survivor as long as they don't take the game hostage and give me a free escape" we can keep them? Or what is the purpose of this question?

I think I lost a few braincells when reading this survey...

Maybe they will start selling hack kits in the store?

no they couldn't, this was a kate and nea last game, Both would commit to gens til the last moment take the hit and do this and disappear I didn't run off I looked around backed up while looking around. One of the times this was a gen at the back of the skii lodge, it had no rocks close enough to run to. Like I said literally just as my recovery ended within the time frame there was nothing in range to run behind and hide. I have had people try the hide at my feet thing before and it doesn't work and they get hit, I am not new to the game but every now and then these weird issues pop up in game persist a little while and then go away like a couple months ago when I kept running into infinite flashlights to the point I was equipping lightborn every time it would happen even with that they would sit there and try to beam me using minutes of flashlight time, always a green flashlight with the iri and purple blind duration addons and neither streetwise nor built to last in their perks. I still run into survivors that have the effects of boil over without running the perk, you can tell because they get the faster wiggles with the falling benefits but you don't get the little horse icon at the bottom right of your screen. I get the feeling because I generally know the feel of perks I notice when something is off. I know how lucky break works and when scratch marks and BLOOD (that's how you know for sure it's not from before the hit btw) in the run around spot and nothing after and when it starts happening enough to become an issue and changes the way survivors are playing in the same pattern every time you run into these things and occasionally I get a confession at the end of matches. This happened when a Jill pre-dropped a pallet at my legion I vaulted it then she proceeded to outrun me around the structure to that same pallet then get a lithe boost off of said pallet. Got a confession and posted the video to accompany my report.

Now that I think about it... I had a few games a while back where I would be chasing a survivor and they completely disappeared. It was on Ormond. They ran up the stairs and disappeared. Then reappeared in the same spot, moments later. They did it twice in the same game. I assumed that maybe it was a connection issue.

Then make it efficient for survivors to group on gens. It should be more effectent for survivors to group up and do there objective together. 120 is just a big number it could be shorter or longer. I dont get why it's more efficient for the team to spit up and not be a team. One of the biggest problems imo I that it's better to work alone most the game then it is to be a team. I think they would need to add a basekit bond to help with solo.

Killers have access to a perk which notifies them when 2 or more survivors are on a gen.

I mean, it's more than wonky visuals, Huntress hatchets can hit through solid objects. Had that happen to an ally once, and the killer in postgame said they were banking on hitting through the object.

That happened to me a couple weeks back. From really far away and through a wall with no vault or opening nearby.

That perk activates once as soon as you get hit, they are running in circles a bit leaving blood and scratchmarks during melee cooldown

Could the scratch marks possibly be from before you hit them?

Both Otzdarva and SpookyLoopz came out with statements in the past 24 hours hoping the devs will listen. Right now, I won't play the game due to toxicity and cheating. Both suck and I'm tired of being stressed out over a game when I should be enjoying it. I'm not even a streamer or a fog whisperer and I get sniped, cheaters and just overall toxicity like they do. I'm sure many others do as well. SpookyLoopz gives some great suggestions and I really hope the devs listen because until cheating and toxicity (meaning hateful messages after game including wishing harm on others) is taken care of, I can't play this game anymore. I'll stick around in the forums from time to time because I do love this game without these two issues. I could care less about game balance, new content, perks, maps, bugs, ect at this point. Cheating and toxicity need to be dealt with and I hope these messages make an impact.

How can I get the full refund that you speak of?

  • I think dbd is targeted bc of bhvrs stance on supporting certain communities. I believe that based on all of the information that I've encountered while researching the topic.

I also think that a lot of dbd hackers are victims of bullying by people in the dbd community.

I don't think there is a solution considering all of the in-fighting that I see on the forums.

I believe that the dbd community will continue to create scenarios where the outcome is, sadly, people turning to hacking as a form of revenge.

I mean, sure they could potentially figure out a way to temporarily thwart cheating, but this community is constantly pouring gasoline on every fire that they can. Thus, creating more future hackers.

Its a skill issue. Git gud.

  • The poll is just a fun gimmick. We all pretty much know which options to choose.

I am, by no means one of the best survivor players, I'd like to say I am above average though.

When the big update came, I was largely unaffected as the only 'META' perk I used was BT, cool. But with all the favourable changes to killer, the game has become so lopsided, that I lose my appetite to finish my games nowadays.

I am getting killers that are only ever winning because they are playing in toxic and scummy ways. Not because I am getting outplayed. Not because the killer is good at playing their character. No. Yesterday, I had a game against a Wesker, I wasn't downed once - He was absolutely dog at chase, failed to hit his dash, and just didn't have good map awareness. My teammates were weaker in chase than me, and unfortunately ended up all being sacrificed, at the expense of him pretty much face-camping the hook. Upon the last hook, it turned into a game of RNG, who finds hatch first. Unfortunately, I don't get anything out of escaping through hatch but saving my item. The killer camped on-top of the hatch and when I ran into the room, he slammed it in my face. Why? Just slam it when you find it?

Game after game, I am running into killers that are simply boosted. They can't chase, they can't pressure gens. They are aware of it, and resort to camping the hook of whoever the poor soul is that got caught. You 'stats' say that you weren't happy with the kill-rate, that it needs to be higher? Are you trying to make the killer role braindead? #########? I feel lied to, and betrayed by BHVR.

The quality of the games are steadily going down, where after weeks of not touching the game, 2-3 games is enough for me to not want to touch the game again.

I'm right there with you. I took a break, came back and played for a few hours, quickly remembered why I had quit and then quit again.

Playing dbd now gives me a bad feeling that it didn't used to give me.

  • You'd think we were at Burning Man or something with all the snark in this forum. Lol

  • I know! I wish there was a Hellraiser game.

  • It's funny how nobody trusts each other on this forum.

Maybe we could change the games title to 'Dead By Gaslighting'?

Ya know, because nobody can agree on what 'camping' actually is and these conversations turn into long winded debates over one specific word.

Furthermore, none of us are ever right about anything anyways and we deserve to be punished, right?

Oh yeah, that's not what I said.

  • 2 & 4 are the best Hellraiser movies, imo. If they were to ever add Cenobite cosmetics, which I doubt they will do, I would hope they would choose from those 2 films.

So I’m brand new to the forums but have been in The Fog for close to two years now. I started as a killer main, and loved it. Of course I’m not going to lie when I was a baby I would camp because I didn’t know the game. Eventually got messages for it and tunneling as well. At first I blew it off as salt and not fully understand what these survivors were saying. Eventually the higher I got the better teams I would face, see new tricks, get bamboozled by some Chads pulling gangster plays. Even learning that good swfs and solos in general can punish for camping and tunneling. So then I analyzed my gameplay and what went from 4Ks eventually went for 3Ks to eventually getting tbagged at exit gates. DS to a DH out the exit gates, so on so forth. I started watching Otz and other top streamers to learn and get better. Started playing survivor to learn both sides and it made me a better killer. Now I play on Xbox and I’m kind of an achievement hunter. So entirely after a couple months of the game I wanted to get every killer achievement. Which in essence sort of guides you into how you have to play to get merciless at top level. If you camp you lose points, games over too soon you see that ruthless and ugh. So then I had to develop my own play. Intentionally avoiding ds and waiting dh,bt. Outplaying the perks by doing the opposite of what they intend. Got all my merciless victories and then finally felt like I knew how to be a good killer. Then I got to what I believe is pretty close to top level MMR. Playing “fair” but competitive was becoming obsolete as well. So now if I didn’t tunnel I wouldn’t have time to do anything else as the gens would be done or near done even if I had everyone on death hook. To me this is efficiency. Plain and simple, the good survivors know that everything is time. The time wasted in chase on a good survivor is time gained on gens totems and everything else for them. Camping and tunneling essentially will take 1-2 survivors out of the game but with the other two usually doubling and with prove thyself essentially keep their pressure as if at least three survivors were still on gens. So yes it might not seem fair to the person getting tunneled but It’s a game everyone is playing to win. At the end of the day people are not playing to lose. Now I wrote all this as a self story but hopefully a lot of you feel the same way. Now I got my girlfriend on the dbd train and she loves it. Unfortunately she wasn’t an avid gamer like me for years so everything is still very hard for her. Which makes me feel bad because we love this game but sometimes we just don’t have fun. I can have a game where I get a 4K but I’m still upset, whether it was BMing or other things the game just didn’t feel fun. I will have the rare match against a great swf that plays great without any clicking, teabagging or any form of bad behavior and fully enjoyed it. So what is all this getting at? I feel In order to make this game fun again we need to make it that way ourselves as a community and not depend on the Devs to do it. Kind of like the problem most countries face where the people don’t realize how much power they have. I think if the game was separated into casual and competitive game modes it would be able to regulate the sweats from the casual players just wanting a good time on both sides. Of course there will be trolls but that’s everywhere. I know there’s Kill Your friends mode but I feel there’s not enough people utilizing this with their friends as they want to play with their friends against someone. But what if they had dedicated servers and lobbies for that purpose. What if we created lobbies for baby survivors and baby killers to learn. Learn to loop, flashlight save, pallet stun save. How to get better at mind games, chases, jump scares. No dc penalties so that if there are cheaters or trolls just leave or kick them. Or if you want to RP Michael Myers, or any other killer. I know I try to go into games going I’m just gonna scare them. Even if I death hook everyone then leave them slugged so their team can revive. Sometimes it works but more than not if I don’t show up to win, won’t even get to play. So I suggest that everyone that is unhappy at the current state of the game to gather round this Campfire and let’s take it in our hands and make it the game we love. That way if you know you’re going in competitive you’re going to get wrecked or you’re going to wreck someone, but just for a fun night of scares and laughs go casual. I know this would be a massive undertaking if it would even go into development, but I suggest for the time being maybe just add people here and let’s make DBD FUN! Again. Oh and one last note to all the threads of camping and tunneling or the killer closing hatch at the endgame, just remember all those times you or your friends escaped hatch at 1 gen, or teabagged at the exit gate waiting for the killer to see you. Don’t say you don’t because I’m guilty of that too. It happens but that’s the nature of the game. So hopefully some of you feel like me and would like to try what I’m talking about. CaiiKo is my gamer tag on Xbox I don’t have many friends so if you’re the first to be like let’s do that custom you were talking about please have at least 3 other people 😂. Okay thanks for your time! See you in The Fog!

I think that a ranked mode and a regular mode is a great idea. Like on Smite.

I don't know if this community is capable of making dbd the game we want it to be when half the people can't even read more than one or two paragraphs though.

That's pretty true. I uninstalled yesterday and dont plan to return until the next mid-chapter. This game has been so,oh so sad these past few months.

I agree. I was hoping to play during the Halloween event, but I might actually skip it.

  • DBD is definitely a unique game that offers a lot of unique gameplay. I'm hoping that the game improves and that I can have fun playing it again someday.

Until then, I am going through and playing a bunch of games I haven't played or that I stopped playing bc I was playing DBD. It's definitely been more relaxed and I feel a lot better all around.

You joke but my relationship with this game may genuinely be something akin to addiction. I just can't seem to put it down even though most of the time my mind is screaming that I'd be having more fun doing something else. Longest break I've ever taken was about a month but that was eons ago. The last time I tried to give it up (the post I was referring to) I went only a week. Something's off.

I'm not joking. This game is addictive.

  • @LittleBigSunset said:

I envy you for getting out at 2k hours. I've sunk more than 5k hours into DBD and can't seem to give it up, even when more than half the games I play leave a bitter taste in my mouth. I don't play it anywhere near as regularly as I used to though.

I even made a post quite similar to yours around the drop of the mid-chapter update. Got the same kind of boring responses too (ok, bye, who cares lmao). Ignore them. You've got every right to express your opinion on the state of the game (on the DBD forum, no less) and highlighting that it's caused you to quit can help to bring attention to the problem. There's a reason why posts like these seem to get so much attention.

Breaks always do me good when a game seems to burn me out. Give the game a try again when the next update drops or later. Maybe then it'll have the same spark that drew you into the game in the first place. Or you could give it up altogether and probably save yourself any future trouble. All the best anyway.

Withdrawal takes around 7-14 days. Then it becomes an interesting spectacle.

  • @Wezil said:

DBD is by far the most toxic community I've ever seen and I play League of Legends. At this point, I come to watch killer players and survivor players wallow in their abject misery. The real winners are the ones that quit this game.

I posted my thoughts at 30 hours (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/342870/noob-thoughts-the-balance-is-a-joke-right/p1) and figured I would do something similar for having hit a 100.

Here's the things I've Never Encountered but I see others discussing.

1: Never escaped via the hatch. If it's down to 2 and the other survivor is on the hook, I'll go save him. If I'm the hook, I'll sacrifice to give a chance. If I still end up as the last one, I usually just go for the doors instead. Though, funny note, in one of my first games I played, I ended up right by the hatch at the end, I just had no idea what the sounds meant. Killer probably thought I was taunting by not jumping in.

2: Never had a toxic chat. Usually I 'gg' into the void.

3: Never noticed someone cheating, but obviously can't say for sure it never happened. Some killer players are so good it would be impossible to tell.

4: Never had a player intentionally sabotage me as a survivor (body block, signaling the killer).

5: Never had a killer rage quit.

6: Was going to say: never played a Freddy or a Twins, but hit both of them between hours 98 and 100.

    -

I really didn't think I was going to make it to a 100 hours. That's not a huge knock on DBD, there's just not that many games I stay that focused on. Around 40 hours though I snuck out of wherever the MMR system had me. Teams were better, disconnects became more rare, while the quality of killers felt roughly the same. My survival range got around 50% (just a gut guess) which made the game a lot more enjoyable.

That said: in the game I played right before this post, hit a ghost face, one player suicided, another disconnected after 1 hook. We still got it down to 1 gen, but that was disappointing. I also had by far my most successful 'loop the killer' moment though it didn't really matter

At 30 hours I thought the Killer was easy and unbalanced. I think I'd replace the word 'easy' with 'simple'. I feel like if I took anyone with video game experience and gave them the killer and said 'hit the other players, protect the red squares, if a player goes down pick them up and put them on a red vertical thing' and they'd do okay. I've come to accept though that is probably best for the game for the killer to be straightforward.

I play survivor outside of compendium stuff for the killer. My main reason: As survivor I dislike being stomped, as killer I loathe being the stomper. If I get matched up against a team I am easily beating and/or they suffer from early disconnects, I feel like garbage. Showing mercy/giving them a chance makes me feel worse (it feels insulting). When I hit a team working together and gens are going off all around me, I'm thrilled. When it looks like I might have a 0k and get desperate to defend the last gen/doors, killer becomes a ton of fun. However, there are too many easy games for to work my way into higher MMR to make that experience more common.

At 100 hours, most of the people you're playing with haven't become total jerks yet. Enjoy it while it lasts. I've actually considered starting over on a new account so I can have fun playing dbd again.

Name one game that does not have a cheat problem? I've read on hacking forums the list of the techniques EAC uses and it is very long. It would take even a skilled software engineer literal years to write a code that bypasses them all. I don't think there is an anti-cheat that is "better", they all probably share the same techniques, but the only difference is how intrusive they want to be

Yes your right but in particular circumstances like giving the 2nd to last player hatch, but dying on your first hook beacuse you gave up should be. It's not a good loop hole to have to avoid a time out.

He is on a list and you could get into his games, guaranteed, for money.

  • Dying on the hook is not against the rules.

  • It takes forethought and determination to force a 3 gen. I always wonder why more killers don't do that, honestly.

  • @Babz said:

    Hi,

I don't usually like to complain because I understand that being a developer for a game is a lot of work and effort to cater to everybody and everything that people want. However, being (most of the time) a soloq/2man survivor player, I can't play this game anymore. I have 2k hours, own a tiktok with over 15k likes and a Twitch channel just because of DBD, yet the game has grown to a state where it makes me feel 10x worse after playing than it did beforehand.

Killers are tunnelling all the time, I see the same few killers every single game and survivors just can't compete with all the stuff killers have these days. I don't necessarily blame killers for playing strong killers (because those like Pig, Ghostface etc are just boringly weak).

However I played 7 matches today with my friend, and we both have over 2k hours. ALL of those matches the killer got 4 kills and mostly ended by hitting on hook and nodding. I don't go around clicking my flashlight at them, I do gens and save when I need to, and I can loop the killer for a good few minutes, yet even then the match ends at 1/2 gens with all being dead.

I don't appreciate the excuse 'just get good' because I can loop and I can be useful during matches; with 2k hours of course I'm going to have some idea of how to do that. But nowadays, when a killer even just gets looped, they take it as a personal offence and tunnel you out and hit/nod at you. It's tiring and sad because I used to enjoy this game on both sides (I still agree that killers should have gotten the buff they did in the past), but now playing survivor against these killers just feels so punishing and leaves you feeling like there's no chance to win at all.

I'm going to stop playing because this game just feels like it's at a point where its stale and more toxic than ever. Thanks for reading and again, sorry that this post had to be so whiney and complainative, but I just had to say my opinion and viewpoint before I left. <33

I took a break, played again one evening and now I'm two weeks into my second break.

There are way more enjoyable games to play and better things to do with your spare time.

I think the hard part about walking away, for some of us, is the money we invested in dbd versus the current return on those investments.

I know that I wasn't excited to play dbd anymore, at all. I would rather mow everyones lawn on my street, honestly. So I did.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

For me personally, the reasons I choose to not play or quit in frustration always boil down to the, how do I put it, BS gameplay elements that certain perks or killers have.

Take Legion for example. I will always stop playing for the night after encountering a Legion. I refuse to put up with that dogwater killer design. I can be working on a gen outside of their TR on a gen off in Narnia, but sucks to suck, I happen to be the 4th person in a frenzy chain and even though I've started running early, I'm the instadown and there's genuinely nothing I can do if the killer isn't a bot. I don't understand why you would add an incentive to frenzy more in the rework. That's literally the main thing players DESPISE about Legion.

Another example: Call of Brine/Overcharge/Eruption. I have zero agency to play around the regression stack+Eruption. The only way to mitigate some of it, like a 25 second Incapacitated, is to bring Repressed Alliance, a survivor perk that blocks a gen for 30 seconds. And even then, I have to completely guess when Eruption is going to proc if I'm in solo queue. Who is playtesting this internally and saying "Oh yeah very fun gameplay yes."?

People aren't playing survivor because we bring up things that are chronically unfun and it's presented as some sort of feature in a spooky horror game when players are trying to play a pvp game.

What kind of water does your dog drink? My dog drinks the same water that I drink. Does that mean that I am drinking dog water?
