I believe an Esoteric hook is basically every hook on the map. I can't login to confirm, but that's how it was in previous versions, so you just need to hook 40 survivors in general in the event game mode, not in the void specifically.
I can confirm, I've not hooked a single person in the Void and it IS giving me credit towards the 40 on the regular map in the Haunted by Daylight "mode".

For the second biggest event that we get in a year this feels like such a letdown, there is nothing new other than the remote repair I guess, giving Killers token based brutal strength is just such a lame concept with the hunt projectiles being as uninteresting as ever.
I assume Killers still only can use the event add-on during the event for some reason, I assume so the devs don't have to fix it since it's just for a limited time if there happens to be a bug, so there is nothing exciting for them when the event ends.
I just don't know what to think of this game lately, the cosmetics are cool as always but in the gameplay side everything has been really uninspired lately, it seems like the devs hit some kind of barrier where all ideas they have need to be rehashes of their old content.
The second half of this year really sucks damn.
With horrible offering/item spawn and super low BP payout.
-
The BP payout for this event is trash as survivor. Everyone plays a offering and I come out with top survivor score and get 80K BP.
I'd do better playing regular mode with a friend burning BPS.
This is a super slap in the face.
It's already a 3+ year rehashed event with very minor changes. -
This is such a horrible look for something that is supposed to make me want to "come play the event'!!!
I can deal with it being a rehash of the same event year after year, but the more DLC and content they add, the more greedy they get with the BP!
IT BLOWS MY MIND HOW TONE DEAF THEY CAN BE!!! -
The spawn rate is abysmal even on characters that are not P100.
The BP payout is trash too. Everyone plays a offering, I come out with the top score and still only get like 80K BP. I spend every bit of it on that character to get ONE… ONE Event offering to use the next match.
I'll never build any offerings on characters with this math.
This math doesn't math.
Stop being so GREEDY!!!
This game should already payout like 5x the BP it does currently on a normal game. There are almost 100 characters in this game now! FFS!!! -

so you know its a rehash the same event they have every year and yet you took 2 weeks off for it? lol
For the cakes and co-op fun with friends. My "fun time" is limited due to a heavy work schedule. I accept the event is a rehash. That isn't a surprise. But the cake spawn is a serious rain cloud on the party.
-
It's horrible. Super disappointing to those who play this game a lot.
It's the Grinch that stole the Anniversary Event! -

Did you use bulk BP spending or regular?
Manual spending. Every blood web is almost always… A event flashlight and a mystery box. The mystery box is almost always a med kit, tool box or flashlight. It is rarely a coconut pie offering. I literally manually spent 400K on P100 Meg and got ZERO coconut pie offerings. Did the same thing on Dwight and only got 2.
-
Same issue on Steam. Spent 800K and got "two" anniversary cakes.
-
I spent 800K on two different P100 characters. I got "two" anniversary cakes.
Good luck with this spawn ratio! -

Make sure you launch Frank Stone at least once. Then make sure both games show up in your library on the BHVR site, resync if you have to. Then make sure you've redeemed the rewards by going to your library on the BHVR site, selecting DBD, and going into the Rewards tab and redeeming them there. If you've done both, it should show up next time you launch DBD. It's a lot of hoops to go through, but it works.
This is exactly what I needed! Thank you for the info! I didn't know the part about clicking on my DBD in the BHVR account and claiming/redeeming my rewards. That was what I was missing.
-
Bought Deluxe version of Frank Stone on Steam a long time ago. Owned DBD on Steam since 2016. Downloaded and installed Frank Stone. Both games show up in my library on the BHVR site (https://account.bhvr.com/account/my-account/games). I've not played Frank Stone yet, but I can't find any rewards at all on my Steam DBD account?

Thanks for this!

Yes they bhvr said they aren't adding them back.
Can you link me to that statement? I've not been able to find anything on this forum through a search about the bloodshot eye offering. I did see on Reddit where they stated they were not "re-enabling" them, but not enabled and removed are two different things.

what is interesting about this mode is this mode was how dev envision dbd to be. originally, dbd was not intended to be a looping game. it was intended to be horror stealth game with scary killers ambushing you on dark maps. A casual thriller game with survival elements.
Light out is exactly how original dbd was originally meant to be designed. Chases were meant to be killer favoured with occasional "Haha, I lost you moment". You can see clearly why dev did not go this route in the game. This might be a theory to why killer only have 4 perks vs 16 perks of survivor. In essence, killer were meant to be stronger at base-kit.
--
I do not like this game mode. it is too random. almost anything can happen in the game mode and it is somewhat out of your control as survivor. The only fun aspect for survivor is juking killer with no scratch marks. Too bad you can't equip Iron will+Lightfooted. Other than that, the survivor gameplay is harder while being mostly the same.
I believe you are correct in that this mode is "more what the dev's intended". But the reality is no one cares what they intended. The game didn't do well because the game was "as they intended". The game ultimately did well because both sides at some point figured out they can severely dominate the other side making it satisfying. The bugs use to be funny too. This was a game you could have a good laugh with for different reasons. The whole "scary" vibe wears off quickly. If that was its only draw, no one would play this game more than a dozen times and uninstall it. People have played thousands of hours because they could laugh when they dunked on the other side. Now that they have nerfed survivor so many times, and buffed killers so much it's not as prevalent as it once was and is why the game is boring now. I can barely force myself to click "play" on this game anymore.
-
The time you have to wait between switching from antidote to intoxication bottles, the time you have to wait between mixing and switching. Just all the delays between changes is what aggravates me. It takes too long to switch between the processes. I'm not talking about bottle throw cooldown which feather speeds up. It would be neat if STBFL speed up those processes.
When you are at a large fairly safe loop, (small end/big end, pallet already thrown) by the time you can switch to yellow, throw it, switch to pink, throw it, any survivor that realizes what is about to happen is already in the process of leaving the loop.
Fatman has decent chase, he needs better mobility like all M1 killers. 10% for a limited time is not "map mobility". He needs some way to teleport around the map like other killers with that power. Good chase with good potential for map pressure could really move him to the middle of the pack without having to resort to Pinky Finger or tunnel and camping.

First of all, it is good that the Offerings dont spawn Event-Gens/Hooks anymore and all Gens and Hooks are Event-Gens/Hooks. Because back in the day it was just frustrating to be the only one burning an Offering just to not get anything out of it, because you were not present when the Event Gen was repaired or when the Event-Hooks were too far away.
Second, you notice it in the total. See here, a screen from a few days ago (for a Bug Report):
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1D9FDB3UGM5X/reverent.jpg
I got 55k BPs which is way more than the standard 40k max. And I did not max out every category either.
Event-Offerings give double the BP for the Event-Scoring when repairing a Gen or hooking a Survivor.
I get that it goes over 40K. I'm just saying I've gone up to 55K mark on the last screen as well... without burning a offering. 22K of it was from the 30 void points and kicking like 10+ pumpkins.

You realize that you can make your profile on Steam "private"? You can also only allow "friends" to comment on your profile. You can also "delete" any comment made on your profile. That is not a valid reason to not use Steam. But if you like Epic, go for it.

100% agree on the survivor pudding. A yellow survivor pudding will offer way more blood points than any of the new Mori reworks. I'd rather have all my BP refunded from the thousands of Mori's I have across all my killers!!! Are just turn them all into survivor puddings. I'd be losing BP, but it would have more value overall!

He literally released less than a week ago
Of course lots of people are playing him, what do you expect?
I literally stated, "I know he's new".
I've played this game around 10K hours. For years, I regularly played this game 40+ hours a week. I work 70 hours a week now so I don't have as much time as I use to. But I personally want variety. I don't want to play the same killer 9 out of 10 games. It gets very stale. I personally have never seen a new killer played this much. From Pig to up until Wesker, The new killer craze dies off in under a week. Usually a couple of days. How much did you see Sadako the first week she was released? I barely saw her at all. I think I'm seeing him so much because he's the first really strong killer released; ever. Nurse came out, but no one new how to play her and it took time. Same with Blight. Blight was not popular on release. Spirit was strong, but not super popular on release. It took time for people to figure out the original Spirit was hella strong. That was before all her nerfs. People find Wesker much easier to learn and therefore people are all about him. I imagine the survivor base will whine about him being too strong before too long and he'll get nerfed. At that point, seeing him will fall off a cliff.
@sizzlingmario4 said:
I’m already seeing less of him. The other night I only had 2 weskers and 13 matches against other killers.
Lucky you. He's literally been 90%+ of my 30+ games today. I saw one super campy clown, 1 Nemesis and 1 Trapper. All the rest were Wesker. From 5am to 8pm. It just makes me want to turn the game off and play something else.

It should start from 15 mins and if u dc in 3 days you get next tier of DC
There are too many hackers for this. What should be changed is if someone DC's, the match instantly ends, everyone gets their current blood points score and all items, add-ons and offerings you burned are returned. Outside of queue times, this is the best possible scenario for those that have to suffer due to DC's. Let's be real, those that complain about DC's, are only concerned about THEIR gaming experience. They honestly could care less what punishment the DC'er gets. . You are concerned with your inconvenience of the DC. Compensate those that are left and there will be less complaining about the DC's. Until BHVR cant stop hacking, you can't expect people to be held hostage for hours by a hacker. It happens often to higher MMR players, especially known streamers/content creators.

but there are quite some newer companies/smaller companies that were able to do cross progression on PS/XBOX to PC
I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm just saying there may be a certain amount of money that needs to change hands to "allow" it to happen that no one is willing to let go of.
-
My guess is platforms such as PS and MS don't necessarily want you to have cross-progression as they know most people typically progress from being a console player to being a PC player and not vice versa. Or simply don't want you playing on the "other guy's" platform instead. It's all about keeping you playing on their platform so they can use you as a boasting statistic at the least, and/or fleecing you for that per month/annual online play fee. As a business, their mentality is probably, by giving you cross-progression.... "What's in it for us?" A loss of business is typically the honest answer.

I see the event starts the 16th. I assume this is a two-week event? Is it stated anywhere how long it is or when the end date is?

I dislike how something that should've been made a basekit feature is being made into a perk
This! 1000%!!!
This should have been base when Boons were released.... When A killer comes up to a boon totem, the killer should have two options, "snuff" or "destroy". If the killer has NOED, he has to make a decision of which he wants to do. Maybe make "destroy" twice as long as "snuff". I don't have an answer for that. But a killer shouldn't have to run 1 of 4 perk slots just to snuff out a possible totem no more than telling survivors in the past when playing old Spirit, "just put on Iron Will". A survivor shouldn't have to run a perk just in case they might play a specific killer. That's just not practical.
-
It would be a major disappointment for many to not have anniversary cakes. Me included! And I hope they fix the spawn on prestige survivors this year! The last two years have been awful. Did 50 bloodwebs on a prestiged survivor, got 12 cakes, maybe 2 anniversary flash lights, 2 med kits and 1 toolbox. Did 50 bloodwebs on a killer (prestiged or not) and got 50+ cakes. The math simply doesn't add up!

I went straight back to old wiggle once I milked out all the BP for trying it out. I'm not a fan. :-/

People are too sensitive. Anything that is said to them that they don't want to hear is "hate speech". We don't need moderation of the chat. I hate the ###### crap. I want to see what others said to me. The only thing that needs to be done is an instructional be added to the game that shows people that they can disable the chat system by clicking on the double arrow next to chat. If you don't want to be offended, please click the double arrow box here. Some of us have thick enough skin and love the comments!

Still happens to me to this day. Maybe once every 25-50 games. But it still happens.

I DC from time to time. I don't have a problem with the DC penalty. What I hate is the forced wait on hook now with skill checks. You can almost never ######### anymore unless you're being camped. Someone will always pull you before you can "let go". Their should be a "give up" button so I can die quickly like with the struggle mechanic.
And there should be a "give up" button when slugged so I can bleed out quickly and move on instead of being forced to lay there wasting my time. If they need to win that bad, I'll give them the win and let me move on to a fun game.

Survivors should just receive the same treatment as killer. Collect the crown and be done; no escape catch.
Agreed. Making it a 4K requirement for killers would just increase the sweat. Killers literally only have to show up. To get the "login rewards", we as players only have to turn on the game. Why do survivors get tasked with having to escape when everything else only requires you show up. Getting the crown in-game should suffice IMO. No escape required.

There has been literally nothing done in four years to reduce the grind (other than the archive which isn’t great), and it only gets worse every chapter. A million suggestions such as perk tiers being removed, increased BP from each game, letting people choose what perks to unlock, etc have all been suggested to help the grind.
What are they doing? They aren’t even trying out different options, or acknowledging the fact that the grind is bloody ridiculous for new players. It’s gatekeeping.
Once upon a time, you only got 1 perk per web. Not two per web (past level 40). Did this reduce grind a small amount and help you to get more opportunity to get a perk you would rather have over another quicker? Yes. Did this remotely reduce the grind enough for those of us that buy all 4 DLC's every year and P3 all those characters and want all of them to have all near 100 perks that are now out there? Not by a long shot. This game is too grindy for players that have been around only a couple years and unfathomably grindy for new players IMO. Either the cost of items needs to be reduced by 2K across the board, double BP payout over the current rate, or reduce all perks to 1 tier. Cutting the grind by half would not be out of the question IMO. We want to encourage new people to want to stick around. Not see they are looking at climbing Mt. Everest and have them bail 50 hours into how ridiculously how behind they are and the task ahead. If I was new to this game I would not dare spend a penny on DLC that I didn't feel I had to have. I have bought it all, but I have been around since 2016. I wouldn't invest that much money if I had that much challenge ahead of me.

Everyone else, I'd be careful spending those shards.
I do the same thing. I have all perks unlocked, both sides, except for Nemesis (working on it now). I always buy perks for BP. I never spend them on cosmetics. I've bought at least 4 perks so far this event. I've got my BP no issue. Not saying you aren't, just saying I'm not having issues. I'm on PC/Steam.
-
As Killer, long as you don't force a survivor to farm, you "should" have no issues. Technically farming is a reportable issue, but most people that don't want to farm will DC or just rush gens and bolt. If you get angry because they won't cooperate and kill them, I would guess that is when they would be most likely to report you. Unless they are of the "Hall Monitor" personality and promptly report anything and everything they come across. Plenty of those types out there as well.
-
Killer during events is always more popular. Add poor cake and item drop in blood webs and DC's, it's going to be bad. If they fix he cakes and items for survivors, it will get "some" better, but killer is always in higher demand during events. They get more BP and people want to go that route to either play or try and farm.

Yes, the cake and item drop rate is ridiculously low whether it's a bug or intended. This is exactly the same event as last year. At least last year the cakes and items were abundant. The login rewards are nice. Christmas they at least made a calendar you could check out for what to expect. Didn't even bother to make one of those that I'm aware of.

"Me: I wish I could get cakes so I can use the offering every single match
Game: I'm sorry, did you say you wanted 3 anniversary flashlights?"
The problem is that survivors have 4 Event items and they all compete for spots, while killers can only use the offering, and will find 2-3 every bloodweb.
Both were abundant in last year's Anniversary and Halloween events. I had 100-200 leftover Halloween offerings (spread over all characters) and prestiging one character meant 20+ spooky medkits and flashlights. I've got characters I prestiged last Halloween event that have greater than 40 spooky medkits and flashlights on them still! Same with the Anniversary items. They reduced other items so those items would take center stage. We can get the other crap any time of the year. The ratio for these items should have a greater probability to make them semi-abundant. I can get yellow and brown medkits, yellow and brown flashlights and yellow and brown toolboxes all year long. Decrease the ratio on that crap and increase it on the special items and offerings! It can't be that complicated! They've already done this in the past! They know how to do it! It's either because they've bugged it like they do EVERY event or they felt they were too generous last year. Which it is, I have no idea. :-/

@TheBus4K said:
It's probably a bug with survivors, with killers I get between 1 and 3 cakes per level.
Bug or not. It needs to be rectified ASAP. If it is a bug, it's only affecting 4/5th's of the player base. :-/ Not to mention super long killer queue times like with every event. Everyone wants to play killer during events. Always been that way.
This is a 100% joy killer. The major highlight of the event is the BP. Every event is like this. For at least the last 3 years, every event has an issue. They stated they were going to spend less time on the Chinese New Year and Winter Event so they could "focus more time" on the Anniversary and Halloween Events; so they could be "better". It's cakes and the same items from last year. They made a new graphic for the cake and changed the number from 104% to 105%, there is nothing "new" about this event over last year's event other than throwing us some free Iri shards and BP like they did with the Winter event. What is different or so "big and better" from last year? Same old issues. I expect no less honestly. You have people you count on to come through and you have those that you know will disappoint you so you come to expect it. Unfortunately, us long-time players know which to expect from BHVR. It's sad, but 100% true. I really wish I didn't like this game. It's depressing.

This is a good example of why they should never give players the ability to blacklist other players in matchmaking.
No, this is the perfect reason that why having one "ranked" mode for a "party game" is a stupid idea. Let the sweat lords play in "competition" mode and develop different modes for those that don't want to be any part of that garbage. A large portion of people play video games for "fun". I know certain folks can't fathom that. Video games? For Fun? Not to be world champion?
-
@Freudentrauma said:
That post reminds me of the good old days, when red ranks meant facing Hillbilly or Nurse basicly each game. To be honest, that might sound dull, but could be a sign for the MMR working well.
The saving grace of those days was MLGA and the ability to triple depip with DC's with no penalty. Games get too sweaty? Seeing the same 10 killers over and over? DC 10 to 20 games in a row and let the fun begin! Or just DC after tea bagging in the exit gates every 3rd game to stay the same rank eternally.
-
@Zozzy said:
MLGA already proved how bad this idea is and how much it would/was abused.
A streamer back in the days of mlga couldn't get a game for an hour because they played nurse and every survivor blocked them.
I used to use MLGA and loved it! If you were super good and sweated serious balls, I'd block you. ESPECIALLY Nurse and Billy. I've played this game for thousands of hours and feeling like you are a tee-ball team playing against a Major League Team isn't a fun game. It can't be fun for the sweat lords either. If that was my only option, I'd uninstall and move on. I don't have to win, I don't care to die (or if all 4 escape), but if I felt like it was a super skill mismatch, it was ZERO fun. Slug games are boring. As killer and survivor. Getting 1 hook and bullied is ZERO fun as killer.
Since the implementation of dedicated lag servers and the demise of MLGA, if it's an obvious skill mismatch, I'm going to suicide on hook and move on. I shouldn't have been matched in that large of a skill disparity to begin with! As killer, you have to suffer through to the end and open an exit gate. As a survivor, best of luck with your safety pip sweat lord I'm out!
