In comparison to what BBQ does, WGLF is definitely lack luster in comparison. It should have added benefits other than just the points stacking. Easier protection hit stacks would be nice too!

Paulie Esther answered this in a video. He stated a friend of his bought the game on Windows PC that had been playing it on Xbox. The answer is no. You can't move your Xbox account progress over to your Windows Store PC version of the game. Super SadFace.

A better question is "why doesn't BHVR give players the option to disable post game chat?"
All you have to do is literally click the double arrow icon beside the chat box and the chat is closed (both killer and survivor) forever or until you click that arrow again.
So yes, their is a button to turn off the chat.
*General Statement - Not Just Meant For The Person I Replied To*
If anyone is that sensitive to what is said in that box, you need to grow up or turn off chat.
If it's against TOS, take a screen shot and report it. That person WILL get banned if you provide proof. If that is the case, follow through and take pride in removing trash people from our community instead of getting upset about what you read. Better to punish the guilty than to try and take away the rights of all because of a few. You will be commended for taking out the trash and you will be condemned for trying to take away personal rights. Chose wisely.

On another note, this game is for 17 and older which basically means it's for adults. This is a horror game with gore and death. We constantly see curse words in the pre & post game chats (on PC) along with the racism, homophobia, etc... I love how any curse word is blanked out with "BAD WORD". The same age restriction of the game should apply to the forum and we shouldn't have to sensor out words like this is China! Grow the ######### up!

Lots of killers play Wraith and hide to depip as quickly as possible without having to DC or interact with the survivors. It's a way to have easier games against lesser survivors or get lobbies faster. Killer lobby wait times during the daytime are very long at certain ranks. Deranking because you are tired of 20 minute queue times, I get. Deranking so you can destroy some noobs without mercy is just being a douche. If you are going to play much lesser survivors, toy with them and give them a chance to have fun and earn points.
To my understanding, the rift experience points are gained the same way as they are for your devotion level. The longer you are in the game, the more points you earn. So trying to power through games as fast as possible would not be the optimal way to achieve farming for your rift. It would actually be better to not have an invisible killer so the survivors would hang around longer to get their chase points from the AFK killer. Unless you've set up a bot (which is bannable), it would be better to just play the game even if it was half assed because you would ultimately gain the most experience points and blood points.
My guess is that if you are finding invisible Wraith's that are AFK, that is just a killer deranking and not wanting to give the survivors any unearned points. It's a "######### you" to the survivors.
Too many people are a "main" of either survivor or killer and totally hate the other side like it's some damn rival football team. People need to understand that neither side is right or wrong, good or bad. We are all just people wanting to play a game and have fun. Some are more competitive than others and their are toxic ######### bags on both sides. Being a "survivor" or "killer" doesn't automatically make you a certain type person. I think people that play both sides seem to be the most well rounded, best skilled and in most cases, the least likely to be toxic and get bent out of shape about little stuff. Just my opinion.

There is a arrow on the end game chat box. Click it, it closes the chat. Until you restart your game, you won't have to see what anyone says again.
-
You get a stack if you unhook someone and they don't go down for 10 seconds, works if you get hit unhooking someone, any other time it is rare. At least that is my experience.
-
As survivor, Laurie if you don't know how to loop. I found it the hardest when I was still pretty new to the game.
I say the nurse is the hardest as killer and over all just because she is so hard to learn. I'd say nurse is the hardest overall.
I see most people have voted David as the hardest, but if you can play at a lower rank with a decent SWF, you can stay hidden and do gens while someone else keeps the aggro.
The killer always seems to see you with the OOS perk and makes a bee line straight for you. You are screwed if you can't loop. And their is not SWF option to killer adepts. You just have to be good or get a really crappy team. Killer adepts are about you being good or just plain lucky.
-
Isn't a double blood points event more or less as simple as throwing a switch (I honestly have no idea). It would be nice if we could at least get that. The grind never gets addressed. What new player wants to play 5k hours on a 3 year old game to get where the OG people are. We needed more double blood points or seriously nerf the grind!

Personally not a fan of autodidact, I'd rather go Botany Knowledge myself, but I get what you are saying.
If anything needs to change, I'm sick of the Hex:Ruin meta. It sucks for killers and it sucks for survivors. Unless you are a super good killer than can just get people down super quick and keep them on hooks, the game goes to fast without Ruin. Ruin is a band-aid that is constantly taking a perk slot away from you as a killer.
Hex:Ruin is the secondary task and through sheer luck it is found quickly or it is not found quickly. If it is found quickly, the killer is screwed and gave away a perk slot. If it is not found quickly and the team can't deal with Ruin, it is devastating to the survivors. How well the game goes for either killer or survivor should not be so "luck" based. It's really biased against skill other than having great ping and good hand eye coordination to hit M1 at the exact right time; which is boring AF by the way! Hitting consistent Ruin skill checks on console... good luck with that! ROFL...
And I'd just as soon DC from the "totem humper" killers. It's just a parade of survivors getting hooked and unhooked while the killer protects his Ruin totem. Like moths to a flame, noob survivors can't help be keep trying to destroy that totem just racking up points for the killer and screwing themselves.
I am absolutely sick to death of the Ruin meta!!!

I can sooooo relate to these comments.
People with "We'll Make It" that run away from you and never use it on you.
And survivors that will heal themselves with you standing in front of them, when you know their dumbass can see the "We'll Make It" symbol next to their perks.
I understand you get survival points for healing yourself, but if someone has a faster way of healing you (We'll make it or Botany Knowledge/MedKit) and you refuse it (and the killer is not near by/you haven't witnessed them missing a skill check), your just being an #########.
The "Rescue 3 survivors from the hook" daily is so much easier than the "Heal 3 survivors" daily.
Even the 180 minutes of cooperative actions can be tough at times. Either just unlucky and get a Legion with Discordance or a bunch of dumb scaredy cat, spine chill/premonition/urban evading survivors that spend most of the game licking walls.
I love the extra points, but sometimes the dailies are a lot more stressful than they should be.
-
I love the "Hide" button! Fitting! lol...
In front of the locker of course.
The freezer room with animals hanging up, the black corners of that room. It is an awesome place to hide. A killer rarely sees you there.

Definitely not going to ######### on your accomplishment. I have been rank 1 survivor more than once and it is not easy to do. It takes a lot of work for sure. But you can be "boosted" to rank 1 survivor if you go that route.
But I have to disagree with getting to rank 1 as killer being easier. You can't be "boosted" as a killer. You have to earn it. And there are a lot of really good survivors/swf's that will derank the ######### out of you! You really have to play a lot of games as either killer or survivor to get to rank 1 (unless you are really good), but killer is definitely not "easier".
And I'm a decent survivor main and a mediocre killer for what it's worth.
Congrats on making it to Rank 1!
I do my best to avoid it. Killers are just too sweaty and unless you have a good team, it's just not any fun. ๐
-
I would think that ping plays a significant part as well. I don't want to play high rank survivors as a low rank killer, but no one wants to play ridiculously high ping either. Lag is not fun for either side at any rank.
Not saying the matching system is flawless by any means, but ping matters too. You can only play who is available to play and close enough to be enjoyable.
What really sucks is waiting 10 minutes for a game, for the match to get "cancelled" and then wait another 10 minutes for another match and the match get "cancelled" again.
I'm definitely not saying I want to go back to 2-3 man survivor loads, but with 10 minute waits to play killer, "cancelled matches" become an annoyance that makes me just go back to playing survivor. Playing killer is just not worth the wait time.
3 killer games (10 minutes to get in a game/10 minutes in game) in 1 hour at 20k a game (no BBQ, inexperienced killer) = 60K
6 Survivor games (1 minute to get in a game/9 minutes in a game) in 1 hour at 15K each (if they are poor to average matches) = 90K
For a game that is grindy AF!.... I'll take the survivor route even if I'm bored to tears with it.

I hate that I get none of the dailies for the killers and survivor I actually play, and always get them for the ones I've put little to no points into.
"Chainsaw 4 survivors with Cannibal", Gladly would if he had any good perks higher than rank 1, and a good supply of decent add-ons. But no, Cannibal is not my favorite playstyle, so you're asking me to use a killer who isn't viable at my rank, and has none of the tools/perks to compete at my rank, and accomplish a task that is ridiculously challenging at my rank, for a measly 30k bonus? I get twice as much as that playing a game and losing with Legion. Hard Pass!
"Open the gate 2 times with Bill" I only play 1 survivor, and only upgraded everyone else to rank 40 for the teach-ables, so Bill is worse off than my Cannibal! There's nothing unique about the other survivors, just skins that share the same perks. Why on earth would I want to max out all of them, when I can just do that to 1 of them and have the same survivor experience regardless? You think its because I want to hear different noises come from them? Use different cosmetics? No, I just play the survivor role with my favorite skin, and unless you start giving them something else that makes them unique from each-other, and game-play affecting, there's literally no reason to get any of the others past lvl 40. Again Hard Pass!
Sigh, The dailies are useless to me. The only ones I ever do, because I know I can do them, are the really easy ones, or the "Kill a survivor by your hand" ones, because I'm gonna lose no matter what with those characters, but at least it was an easy 30-60k.
The "kill by your own hands" are the ones I never do because they require "Mori's" I don't have on my Level 1 killers! lol... Shock 4 times. level up evil within 4 times, dream chase sequence, chase the survivors for 180 seconds, the one's that require nothing are the ones I do, IF the lobby wait time aren't insane; which it usually is. There is definitely no reason to try and "promote" more people to play killer! lol... At least not in my play region.

I'm using a Mac to look at this forum. This forum use to be fine several months ago, but this forum now runs like dog ######### on Safari. It seems to work fine with Chrome. You can't type more than a couple sentences and it starts to get really, really slow and you have to wait for your typing to complete. Finally my Mac tells me this site is "using a lot of energy" and recommends I close the window. This is a 2018 Mac Mini with a i7700 and 16GB of memory. It's not my computer! lol...
Someone needs to see why this site hates Safari.

Other than all the right reasons given above, have you considered the fact the maybe the Entity wants you to become a Killer? ๐
Well the Entity needs to get me Insta-Lobbies if he wants me to be a Killer main! ;-)
I play this game across 3 platforms and 5 accounts. I really only play on Xbox (2 accounts) or PS4 (1 account) for the dailies or the rare occasion that a friend wants me to play a game with them. When I turn on DBD on Xbox/PS4 and only find Killer dailies, I just delete a daily and if I get another killer daily, I just turn off the console. Forcing dailies on me that I cannot complete (requires a Mori I don't have) or do not want to complete (not worth the time needed to complete it), only demotivates me to play this game. I believe that is the opposite intended effect of the "daily" in the first place.

@Bbbrian2013 You're so right, most events that're live are "bad" until its gone, than suddenly its "amazing" looking back.
Except the Hallowed Blight event, that was just Honey Bee Simulator, where you collect nectar and get a vial, than die on hook while 5 gens are still untouched.
That event was toxic AF too. Had lots of killers camping the nectar. Just like you had killers camping the special gens in the older events. If there is a way to be toxic, people always find away to be the biggest P.O.S. they can be.

I can only speak for my own experience. Playing BPS for 97/100 matches as a survivor only puts a large target on your back. All but a few killers go full try hard mode to ruin your day it seems, even when it ruins their own points. When a stack of BPS are played, the killer rarely wants to farm (which ultimately is fine), but he also doesn't want to maximize his own points either. Hooking a survivor, downing another trying to go for the save and then trying to close the match by downing or hanging the others when they attempt to unhook or get those two up. I've seen full on basement camps and everything else. I even see a ton of Mori's played. Even when the survivors names show you that they want to farm, most killers only concern is "winning" even if it means the survivors only get hooked once and the killer comes out with 13K points at the end. I've had so many killers say "I won, that's all I care!" "and lots of other nasty comments that aren't very nice. To me, the double blood point event is like "Christmas" (sorry if you don't like the comparison). It should be a time of happiness and working with one another to maximize points. It seems there are a high majority of Killers that are straight up grinches. Burning BPS during a double blood point event is like lighting a stack of $100 bills on fire. I'd just rather save them and play them with a noob friend not during an event. At least the noob might get a boost in needed BP's to get him started on his way to leveling up his characters. I'd honestly rather prestige my character and delete them than give them to those type killers.
I play killer too FYI. I'm just not hard core focused on my Rank or "winning". I play games to have "fun". A novel concept I know.
-
I wouldn't say eventful or memorable, more like Ironic... I have two accounts on PC and two on Xbox. Both of my smurf accounts (made to play with noob friends) I got "Item of Obsession" without even trying. My main accounts, I can't seem to get that achievement no matter how hard I try! lol... I've got all other survivor achievements finished on my main accounts other than the new Jane and Ash ones.

I found this through a google search, not through the site search function. Either this site doesn't have a "advanced" search function, or I'm just too dumb to find it. If their isn't one, it damn sure needs one!
I've been trying to figure out what was going on with my game for awhile now. It had gotten to the point I was ready to stop playing this game on PS4 completely. I play this game on all 3 platforms and my PS platform is my least played. I thought it was a issue with the game. Maybe a patch caused it. Maybe playing at 4K caused it. I do know if you are playing in 4K on PC, you can't have your scaling above 100% or it will screw up your mouse input (which still hasn't been fixed to my knowledge and has been this way for a very long time). I tried changing a bunch of different settings in my 4K TV and in my PS4 Pro. Nothing I did fixed it. I tried finding a thread about this issue on the forum and no dice. I did a google search and it lead me to this thread. This thread made me try a new controller and low and behold, that was the issue! I've never had a analog stick become defective in that way before. Never on a Xbox 360, PS3 or a Xbox One controller. I've experienced drift and seen them just break entirely (not mine), but never just reading input wrong. It was like I was sporadically running at a slower speed, off and on and turning to the right seemed to make it worse (intermittently). It was more noticeable as survivor due to the 3rd person view, but I could tell it was happening as killer too. I would try letting off the left bumper and re tap it trying to see if that would fix it. It was a issue I could just not get away from and made playing this game miserable! I only play DBD on PS4 and probably haven't had 500 hours of use of the system and controller. I literally turn the system on daily, play until the daily is complete and then turn the system off. It's pretty sad the controller lasted no longer than it did. Luckily I had a spare new controller in a box because I got a bargain on it awhile back. The game works as it should now with the new controller. It also works perfectly with my XIM Apex and a spare Xbox One Controller.
I have a XIM Apex lying around. It won't work with this game correctly (for mouse and keyboard input) which is why I bought the damn thing. I hate playing First Person games with a controller. So at least my XIM Apex has a actual use now. I'll use it so I can use a Xbox One Controller on my PS4 Pro. Much better quality of controllers. At least in my experience. And not trying to brag about Xbox One Controllers, the warranty policy on the Xbox controllers is trash! A ninety day warranty against defects on a $70 controller is a slap in the face iMO!
Thanks for this thread and the help! :-)

It seems pretty straight forward to me. Not many survivors want to have long wait times, play the same killer over and over, and play killers who are generally unfun and super sweaty. If you get demolished every match it becomes unfun to play. If you can reward people enough to want to be in the Red Ranks (extra BP per match or something of the like), then people will want to be there. This will cause more people to strive to be a Red Rank, causing more people to be in the Red Ranks and therefore diluting the pool of "sweaty" killers so not every match is miserable to play. By simply rewarding people to be there, it fixes all the problems.
Stop trying to change human nature by punishing them. Reward them for being selfish and in turn cause everyone's game play to be more fun and rewarding. It's called ######### capitalism. It just works!
-
I feel the costmetics (most) are over priced as well. My problem is that people buying lots of these cosmetics and DLC's supports them to work on more cosmetics and DLC's. People need to spend less money in solidarity until they work on the real issues which is bugs and (to a degree) balance. I have spent a ton of money on cosmetics, but as this game gets more and more broken, I don't care how cool the character looks, the game becomes unfun to play. Just my .02.

The forum posts have a option to choose "Vote Up" or "Awesome". I'm curious how many "dislikes" the D Strike change announcement post would get if it had a button option to "dislike". Anyone else curious? It currently has 82 "Awesome" AKA: "Likes". I'm not a D Strike user FYI. I imagine there is a lot of hate about this?
-
If you feel powerless as a killer and think the survivors are powerful and you want to feel powerful, then play survivor. If you can't fathom playing survivor, it is time for a new game.
-
I've lost at least half of the offerings I have played due to infinite loading screens I had to crash out of with task manager. Reminds me a lot of last year's Chinese New Year Event on Xbox. It would constantly crash and you would lose your Red Envelopes. The only upside is back then, they were at least more abundant!
-
The Summer BBQ Event paid 4,500K per gen. 5 Gens or 5 Hooks = 22,500BP's. The Summer BBQ paid out a ton more points and the offerings were abundant in the blood webs. This year's Red Envelopes are hard to come by and don't pay out enough points to be worth buying. Just my opinion.
-
Last years Chinese New Year Event and the Summer BBQ Event were both way better. It was simple. You do special gens, you put survivors on special hooks. You got hella points for finishing these special gens and putting survivors on special hooks (4,500K BP's per Gen/Hook). The points gained in this event are super paltry. The 1.5 blood point event paid out better than this event and I don't remember people being to happy about that event!
I was glad to see them implement it where the special hooks could not be sabo'd in the Summer BBQ Event. I remember survivors sabotaging them in last years Chinese New Year Event and I felt that was #########, unless the killer was denying the survivors the special gens on purpose. I play survivor mainly and can agree with that change.
The Hallowed Blight Event was flawed in that Killers would intentionally try to deny survivors the plants and it was flawed that people would fill there vial, DC and it would still count towards their total. The last Chinese New Year Event and the Summer BBQ Events were flawed in that sometimes the hooks and gens would spawn really close to one another, as in the hooks would be on one side of the map or the gens would be in a 3 gen strat position. When that happened, it sucked because killers would not leave the special gens and the survivors would try and stay on the opposite side of the map of the special hooks. If they could have fixed the special gen and hook spawn to not be close together, I see nothing wrong with the way those events were. Iron Grasp and Agitation helped me get the hooks I needed the high majority of the time. Those events were definitely less grindy and paid a lot more BP's which IMO (and I bet many others opinion) made them more "fun". I want to enjoy myself, not get frustrated at super slow progress and crap BP payout; playing 5 games with no offering to be able to go through a blood web and buy 1 single Red Envelope!
I also felt that the events meant something. You got less cosmetics, but you got cosmetics that could not be obtained any other way. They were "special". If you didn't get them in the event, you will never have them. You can't buy David's jacket, Kate's shirt or Hillbilly's Pro-Pain Weapon in the store. Those are a symbol that you are a long time community member, just like Legacy states the same thing.
With this event having ######### blood points payout, event offerings being 1 per blood web (spending hella points just to participate in the points aspect of the event), and you being able to just outright buy the cosmetics now or at a later date, what is even the point in this event?
This doesn't even take into consideration at how long que times are currently, how most lobbies are with 175-300ms ping killers and at least half of the time I play my 1 Red Envelope I worked so hard to buy, the ######### game hangs up and I have to Task Manager crash the game because it is "Not Responding".
This event blows on so many levels in comparison to the ones before it. I'll take the old ones any day!
And I'll wrap this up with stating....
I have been happy with so many events in the past. I am grateful for all the double blood points events in the past. I appreciate all the events that have come before this one. But this event, for me, it greatly missed the mark of being "fun" or worthwhile.
-
Not in this last patch, but in the last 6 months (can't remember exactly when), playing as a killer, I spawned on a "The Game" map and there was one whole generator on the top floor. All the others were on the bottom floor, which I felt was strange. Put the survivors at a disadvantage I felt. I don't think I've ever experienced that as a survivor.
This is definitely a poor spawn IMO.
-
It's been suggested a million times. Good survivors that play with good SWF teams are just OP, plain and simple. Many a killer has been bullied or completely dominated by a good SWF. Yes, the game was not built with the intention of Comms or SWF. The simple fact is that anyone that plays killer for awhile finds out that good SWF teams are the bane of your existence. And the simple way to get around that is to try to avoid anything that you think is a SWF. Many killers already do this. I get lobby dodged all the time and I rarely play SWF and rarely run a flash light or a prestige survivor.
"Marking" a SWF team as such will simply lead to all but the noob killers and best killers dodging them. SWF will be rendered useless because you will never get a match. And many survivors will refuse to play if they can't play SWF. Approximately half the player base plays SWF on a regular basis. Marking SWF so that they can be dodged will be to the detriment of the player base and game. People think killer lobbies are bad now! ROFL...
As much as a ######### answer as this is.... If it is that horrible, you gotta get better, swap to playing survivor or find another game. Not saying that to be a dick, but it's the facts. They have been and continue to nerf survivors and buff killers which helps, but SWF isn't going anywhere.
Best advice I can give you is in most SWF's, not all 4 players are good loopers. Most SWF's have 1, maybe 2 good loopers. The other 2-3 are urban evading gen jockey's. Don't make the mistake of following the looper, he is your time waster. Catch the gen jockey's and punish them mercilessly. The looper might make a mistake trying to hook save and you can get him too. As much as I don't advise tunneling as I find it to suck the fun right out of a game, if you are a super sweaty try hard and only have fun when you get 4k's, then try to eliminate a player as quickly as possible. This will drastically slow the gen rush down and tilt the game in your favor. If you run into a lot of annoying flash light saving pricks, run Franklin's and separate him from his precious purple flash light.
Being a killer main is a tough road to travel, but if you can get over the try hard part and just have fun, you can make hella points even when everyone escapes. Much more so than a sub par to mediocre survivor makes.
I play both sides. I only care about blood point production. Rank doesn't mean jack to me, but I do my best to stay out of the Rank 20-15 range. No matter how good of a looper you are, or how bad the noob killer is, you can't loop the killer and do all 5 gens while the other 3 survivors are hiding in a corner doing NOTHING! This is why a lot of people only play SWF with people they know. Their is accountability in being part of a SWF.
I can't count how many games I ran the killer for enough time for 2-3 gens to be done and absolutely ZERO gens got done. You end up on the hook and you see 3 yellow aura's urban evading in a corner waiting on some else to get 2 gens done as they hope they are the lucky one that's gonna get hatch when everyone else is dead. It gets really, really old. 8K Boldness points won't buy much in the blood web I promise you. :-/
