I wouldn’t call it wasting time at all. Just because you like to P6 everybody and hoard BPs, doesn’t mean everybody enjoys doing that.
And nobody is bragging. We love certain characters and want the most items and time spent on them. Nothing wrong with that. And people shouldn’t get bullied in a video game because of it.
I'm telling you that you should feel entitled to something special for doing that work. Anyone who doesn't think so must not care too much about their personal time.
-
Too bad there is no real reward for spending (wasting) that much time getting a single character to P100 besides bragging rights ...................................... .................................................................... ..................................................................................................................................................

I can definitely say that it is not a measure to stop cheaters. It might have been an extra hurdle to make it a bit more inconvenient way back in the early days of the game, but this is not why the cap exists today.
These days, the cap exists to pace progress when new content releases. Having goals to work towards helps keep the game interesting, and leveling up the new characters to unlock their perks & add-ons is a goal that most people aim for without even thinking about it. The cap is there to limit how many Bloodpoints you can stockpile so that you can't instantly max out all the new characters the moment they are released.
Ahhhh. Could've just said Time Gating.. Pretty stupid reason honestly. For people like myself and the handful of friends I have playing this game. We enjoy amassing BP just to amass it.. It's fun. But each time we get capped at 2MILLY BP whilst not caring about prestiging Survivors/Killers passed P6 for max perk and bloody outfit rewards, we just give up and say "Well I guess we can't earn anymore and we have everything we currently want.. Time to turn the game off until new stuff comes out." You guys are for sure lucky that most of the fan base doesn't think like I do. Uncap the BP. There is no "legitimate" reason to have it capped.

With all the complaining about Wesker it made me think about the other horror gaming franchise in DBD and how despite the massive amount of hype at the time you don't see Pyramid Head all that often these days and I really can't figure out why that is.
He's from a well known popular game series.
His power while the description is long it's not that complicated you just get people tormented then when you down them you send them to a cage and you get to ignore half the perks in the game. Oh and also you get a ranged attack the goes through anything and can hit multiple people.
He's not even weak he's basically the best tunneler in the game and even if you didn't wanna play that way his power is extremely good at loops so getting downs isn't that much of a challenge. Hell at the time of release people were suggesting he could be the 3rd best killer in the game behind Nurse and Spirit which while clearly not the case now also isn't terribly far off either.
By all accounts of what we know about what gets popular in DBD Pyramid Head should be up there with Wesker, Blight and Huntress and yet I really see him maybe once a week.
Thoughts on why this is?
Unfortunately when you sacrifice the "good FEEL" of a character for what you think is more balanced as a developer the result is a lower pick rate imo. The way that Pyramid Head "FELT" in the ptb was perfect. Now many of his animations feel sluggish and as others have said..just clunky. When playing as the Killer the last thing I want is to feel restricted by some invisible force when doing anything. For example.. In ptb he was able to M1 out of M2 which just "FELT" good. When something "FEELS" as good as that you don't remove it... You come up with other ways to compensate for that "good FEEL" without removing it.
Same with Deathslingers gun.. The old aiming down the sights "FELT" amazing..and now..he feels much more sluggish and slow which boils down to just not being fun.. I don't care if I have to hit the Survivors 3 times to down them if the Killers in the game "FELT" more fluid and less sluggish to simply pick up and use. Maybe the Devs will get to a point some day where they realize that, but until then people like me just have to wait for that "FEELING" to return. How good something "FEELS" in a game is actually hard to explain.. It's more of a if you know, you just know type of thing.
Whatever they have to do to make Killers feel less hindered by game mechanics, animations, cooldown times, I've always been for it. I'd much rather have every Killer feeling so polished and have them compensate in other areas of the experience to make up for it then it be the way it is now.. A Killer like Wesker is a perfect example. The majority of Weskers animations and kit just flows and goes together perfectly. He is quite polished whereas other Killers like Pyramid Head were just kind of left alone after being nerfed in the worst possible ways.
Pretty sad to see it, but until they realize people want to play a Killer that "FEELS" good to play then we'll always be stuck in this infinite loop of these developers going: "Hmm so many people are D/Cing against Wesker.. Why is that? He must be too powerful. Let's nerf him!" Take some time out of your busy schedule and just bring the other Killers up to that level. It isn't hard to understand. The answer is right there.

The thing is they already botched 2 chapters back to back. Knight and SM weren't exactly well received. A third bad chapter won't kill the game but it will damage the overall morale of players even more. Players that aren't excited for your game will eventually stop buying new content.
It doesn't have to be a licensed chapter but they need to show us that they CAN still create good chapters. Also, there are players like me that refuse to spend money on non-licensed content. Meaning, I'll buy an original chapter with shards (eventually).
This guys gets it.

Yep. Console players should feel lucky they don't have to deal with end game chat.

Just remove end game chat. It only serves to spread toxicity.

Tremors. That ######### would be scary AF.

Just remove it...

The true "try hard sweats" always get on after they come home from work/school. You can immediately sense when the energy of the teams changes. Just stop playing when you run into one and stick with an earlier time of day to play. (minus weekends due to most of those "try hard sweats" being off)

do you agree that this nerf is very unbalanced between killers and survivors?
with the nerf of dead hard and circle of healing making the rhythm of the game very unbalanced, let's take the example of the shape with its ult where one hit it immediately dies
especially with the addition of the red add ons which makes the ultimate never run out until the game is over and can even do memento even the survivors haven't been hit even once. Is the behavior crazy enough to change the rhythm of the game like this?
we take the example again with the killers that make it difficult for players like the pig. trappers or even killers who use stacks like xenobites. killer basically has been designed to be overpowered with all its abilities but it's a bit slow in movement but there are also some killers that are designed to run fast like legion and the blight for this update I feel very disappointed because of the imbalance in the strength of survivors and killers I hope behavior hears the complaints of the players. how many more times do you want to make a rhythm game like this? I'm not a new player I touch Iridescent rank every month and my account level is already level 500 I understand how to play but this update makes me disappointed
CoH deserved the nerf it got. Killer isn't easy. It really sounds like you play only one side of the game as most who complain about Survivor or Killer specifically. The only thing they need to address is hard tunneling/camping. Once they find a good way to do that, it will fix a myriad of other things.
-
All they need to do is make it to where no Killer can use their power anywhere near a hook. Twins already has this restriction. Just give it the rest of the Killer roster (Trapper Included with the basement BS). Done.

What is with this game and making it so freaking difficult to survive a game if you have no friends to play with? If 1 survivor dies too early in the game, say 4 gens, then you might as well just give up because it takes no time at all for the killer to patrol and too much time to finish the rest of the gens as 3 survivors. Only time I see it working is if 1 survivor is some god at running away and even then it's super slim because we're not all pros. Killer I have no issues winning and losing games every now and then, but man after playing survivor I almost feel bad playing killer. I feel there's lots of players like me who are newer at this game and it just seems ridiculous how hard it is when just 1 player is fairly new. Aka, scared of the killer so messes up running away and gets tunneled out of the game really early.
It should feel impossible for beginners. They can't make Killers so weak that uninformed new people just win by default.
-
- Same Killer Prevention...(excluding NEW releases)
- A FOV slider... Should've been in the game already..

Lot of things have been out of hand for some time now... What I don't understand, it's what I say after that... Nothing gonna stop survivor for gen rushing, and it gonna be more present than before, not only because the perks from the killer got nerfed, but also because the survivor gonna not risk her health bar for protecting someone, getting an hit before unhooking someone, and lot of other possibility (also, the bullysquad gonna use a lot more flashlight and not body block the killer for let her friend goes out)
So, If survivor cannot now risk to loose an health state, the only thing he gonna do it's, making the gen more faster than before, and escape the game, or, just waiting in a corner to be the last survivor, finding the hatch or opening the gate and escaping the match
Why? Because nobody want to heal for 24 secondes per two (so 48 secondes) if sloppy are not here, plus, finding someone who WANT to heal the other survivor, a lot of my game, I can see solo Q dying on the hook because One guy don't want to help his teammate, and just teabagging in some corner, near a locker, so, you really think than someone who are solo, want to heal somebody else?
If something was done about the gen rushing, the healing problem gonna not as big than now
We know nothing yet. We can only assume. Play it then complain after.

One of the things about a Live game, is that things can and will for sure change at some point throughout that games lifecycle.
Sometimes those changes might benefit survivor, sometimes those might benefit killers, somethings you will agree with as a player and some things you potentially won't agree with.
With regard to the bug reports, we actually have no open bugs for Flashbang as it's working as intended.
This is one of those patches where you guys have to be smart enough to know when to IGNORE the community. So many of the things in this upcoming patch have been needed for a LONG time. I agree that the medkit thing is maybe a bit overkill when it comes to playing SOLO, but everything else..seriously bravo! I hope most of them make it to the actual game this time... :/

So...
Killer got a nerf with gen regression perks...
Ok, so, technically, survivor gonna have a nerf with all the gen speed perks.. But no, They got a massive nerf with the healing... Why? That's make no sense... Litterally, survivor gonna just make faster the gen, and go for the next match, even faster than before because Call of brine and scourge got a nerf... and Overzealous got a buff
Also, when I talk about overzealous... Why only this one got this kind of buff? And not all the perks about totem? I can understand that Inner strenght don't have the same "change" ... If the main thing about this maj is just nerfing all the possibility for survivor to be healing again... But a lot of other perks for survivor need to destroy a totem for working, so, why not?
Medkits have been out of hand for some time now. Just because 2 different changes are in the same patch doesn't mean they have to directly correlate..
-
I think if they addressed "tunneling" more specifically there wouldn't be so many people upset.
-
@Caiman said:
I can take all the other changes in the game, but nerfing med kits and COH at the same time is really overkill. It should have been only one of them.
Nah, they both deserved it, and good riddance.
And again, camping, tunneling, and 3-gen holders are not even been addressed.
Yeah, it's not like they nerfed the two perks that made 3-gens very easy to hold. That totally didn't happen at all.
This guy gets it. Both points are on the nose. Lets just not even mention the butchering that Pain Resonance, Call of Brine, and Overcharge received. Biggest part of this community is great at one thing. Whining. xD

I would agree, but then it becomes a double standard. If you take away multi floor drones, then boons need the same treatment.
SM is one of many Killers in the roster and not every map is indoors. You’ll be likely to see more SM’s now than in the future but landing a SM on an indoor map would just count as unlucky. Same as getting a stealth Killer on indoor maps or Trickster on open, short wall loop maps…or highly mobile Killers on open maps.
Some Killer/Map combos work really well and others do not.
You know what? I agree. Nerf them both.

The Legendary "Hunk" skin for Legion is the same way. Stuff like this seems to get passed quality control all the time. I am of course assuming that BHVR actually HAS anyone doing quality control.. Probably a mistake on my part.

So excited for this announcement since i love horror movies but how can we make it the most accurate videogame adaptation ever?
I want a big budget movie where the killer is body blocked to the hook with a sabotage. Then the killer is looped around the shack with a pallet drop chained into flashlight blinds and survivors dab harding into the killer at the exit gates and then crouching aggresively and nodding while the killer just looks at them.
That or a face camping trapper while a claudette self mends and urban evades in the bush.
Ya BH is working on the FNAF movie as well. It's all coming together now.

I don't think the poster is saying that only people at the very top of MMR should have the only say in how the game is balanced.
But it is fairly clear to most of the people actually in the top percentage of players in this game that the balance team doesn't seem to have that insight from top players that the poster says LoL devs have.
Of course they don't. None of the Dead By Daylight developers are even remotely close to being as good at their own game as someone like Otzdarva or Tru3ta1ent is. There are some LoL developers that can for sure compete with pro players, but there are always 10x the amount of people working on LoL due to it being a much bigger cash cow than DBD can ever hope to be.
-
I'll come back when we get another movie license... :/ Licenses are the only reason I got into this game. The game play and mechanics themselves I never cared for, but seeing something I am familiar with get a place in gaming history usually does it for me.

It stands to reason that if tunnelling was a problem in the devs eyes, it would've been rectified years ago
but it hasn't, so it's not a problem. (To the devs)
This guy gets it. The developers love it. They think it is cool as can be. That is the only "power" a Killer really has in this game. To force at least 1 Survivor to have an awful experience each game sitting on the hook or crawling on the ground. If every single Killer played like that now and forever. Using the dirtiest tactics to make 1 persons experience simply abysmal, they'd have to change it, but BHVR is lucky.
They have Killers who play much more "fair" than they should/could. If you want the game changed, show the developers how badly their game is designed by doing what those Killers do. If you aren't trying to win at the game and just ruin 1 persons day, that really doesn't make for good game play on either side. The fact that it is allowed to happen is the root issue. Have more systems in place to make sure 1 person cannot be targeted constantly in your game.
I don't mean perks either. Actual mechanics of the game. Slugging, for example. Remove it. It serves no purpose.

No and I don't know anyone personally that has made a friend through this game. Toxicity is what DBD is remembered for at the end of the day more often than not. That sticks with most people especially if you are new. Every now and then you get someone who says "GG" wholeheartedly, but even those are more often than not overshadowed by the sheer amount of the "GGEZ" you'll see..
Don't misunderstand. I couldn't care less about anything anyone types, but if you want new people to stay in your game, as a developer, maybe you should prevent certain hurtful words/phrases from ever seeing the light of day. If they want to stalk or contact you through any other profile then fine, but to have racial slurs thrown at you IN THE ACTUAL GAME via end game chat is inexcusable when all they have to do is remove it. Consoles can't chat anyway.
If people get so butt hurt about getting hit on hook, tunneled, camped, chased, looked at, or whatever, just remove the gateway to be toxic toward the end of a match through verbal abuse. It is very prevalent. I've seen it many times. The stuff that some people say is a testament to it. Be better than LoL BHVR. Let us "ThumpsUp/ThumbsDown" after a match. Being able to chat with your team in this game through text is not a necessity and it never will be.

Something that the new prestige system is definitely lacking in is special rewards. Since, the only rewards you have is P1-3 is for teachables, P4-6 is the bloody cosmetics and P7-9 the perk charms. Afterwards it completely stops and its purely a number to show your love.
now, i know it’s been talked about with more prestige rewards. But keep in mind the reward does need to be reasonable. BHVR isn’t going to create very rare level cosmetics for every character which only a small amount of people will own and they get zero profit from, Or even some weird suggestions i’ve seen like a unique mori every 20 prestiges (do you know how much animating that is???).
if we were to have rewards, they would need to work around licensing (so it would be equal for everyone), also it would need to be something simple. The perk charms work because all they need is a base model and the icons they can just easily paste on.
My idea is to give special borders for that character’s teachables as a little touch to show off your prestige for a character even when not playing them when using their perks or maybe some special in-game HUD effects, but what are your ideas?
Maybe just completely golden versions of the character? Where the model looks like its made out of actual gold.
