i thought this matchmaking business was fixed but it still isn’t, wow lol

I don't know how to deal with your opinion, maybe some will like those cosmetics, like me...
i main Laurie, but i’m talking about her default model. she could look better. i also do like her newest outfit, though it looks more like a troll toxic outfit more than anything lmao

Agreed, I love that they added the sweater skirt outfit from the 1978 film. Really looking forward to that classic Ghostface robe though!
hopefully this means more outfits for Laurie and Michael to come now, can’t wait to see even more outfits for the pair!

I'm so happy she got it! Instantly bought it when i had the chance.
as did I, ahaha

Good sir... PS4 does NOT have dedicated servers yet... at each lobby, check the ping of the killer (host) in the bottom right side of your screen... If it's a yellow or green stable bar you'll be fine, if it's red or unstable dodge the lobby...
You're welcome...
that’s the point i am making, dedicated servers aren’t on consoles yet so why is it that we’ve been affected with all these bugs, lag and errors when a patch ago everything was fine and we were still P2P hosting?
-
just woke up and can confirm - i am not surprised at all. 😂
i feel bad for those people who booked time off in order to grind it out, must suck
there’s a massive reoccurring pattern in delays with everything in dead by delaylight recently lol
-
it’s so bad as a ps4 player. constantly waiting 30+ mins to get into a game and when you do, you disconnect as you load in
another one is where you ready up, about to connect to a lobby then as it loads it just resets and you have to ready up and find another lobby straight away.
hair glitch bugs as you said, multiple survivors go bald lol 😂, and not sure if i’ve seen mentioned on the forums but there is an EGC bug where it will just kill you randomly even though the timer is over 50%, i’ve had this happen multiple times the past few weeks.
as much as i love the stranger things dlc as Nancy is my main, the devs really f’d up with the matchmaking and lobbies and it’s like we’re just going backwards and they’re trying to stuff in as many dlc as possible.
all we can hope is next patch they fix it all and we get dedicated servers which will hopefully fix all this.
-
i’ve had multiple crashes and errors aswell on ps4 today, the waiting time for survivors are ridiculous right now and even worse than before the patch launched for some reason.
i’m also seeing no progress on the matchmaking as i’m still being matched with some rank 15-16, i’m currently rank 9.

Laurie change? Where you got that information? Is that in the patch notes?
they mentioned in the patch notes in art/design that they have retextured more hairstyles for survivors, Laurie being one of them. Quentin also seems to have some qol changes to his face and doesn’t look as drugged anymore.
if you scroll down enough on reddit you should find it, there’s a post on it

Sam would be a good survivor... She's got the skills needed. : )
unfortunately, yes, Hag is somewhat based on the Wendigo. Doesn't mean there can't be more, though.
i was thinking that too. the same way there’s billy and leatherface, ghostface and myers etc.
and yeah sam is definetely the best out of all the girls. i find all the rest so bitchy and whiny

Dude your whole post is QQing about survivors that use sc. Grow up and play the game the way you want and stop bitching that people are not playing your way. Stop the qq and play the game. Learn to adapt to your teammates instead and you will become a better player. Right now you sound like a kid who is just started and looking for others to blame.
and a lot of people agree with me on my post. so what are you trying to say? if you can’t handle a post on these forums and you’re going to come in just to say ‘u qq learn2loop’ you sound like a hypocrite yourself.
you sure you’re not the child here?

Your the guy that was on the hook not able to loop killer. Your post is one big QQ. Git Gud and stop blaming others for your shortcomings.
ok mr i’ve never been on the hook before, lets be realistic everyones been on a hook if you’re playing this game.
and yes, i do know how to loop thank you very much. stop being hurt just because a perk you run is garbage, just be real and accept it lol
self care was a good perk before the nerf. not anymore
-
@Wuhelm said:
I will stop SC when the 99% potato survivors learn to play. They complain about not being rescued and are proud that they ran the killer for 10 secs before being downed. Then their potato ass gets saved and they run off without self care and a few minutes later that potato is back on the hook. OP sounds like the person who is on the hook alot and is jealous they cannot be better at the game so lets bring other survivors down to his level. I win most games than I lose because I watch out for myself, if i had to babysit the potatoes too there is no way the killer would not 4k every game. OP play the game your way and stop bitching about how others play their game.
you sound bitter, re-read the thread and realise a majority of the people are saying self-care is a complete waste of time.
it really makes me laugh seeing the amount of people self-caring whilst on hook or with empathy/bond
-
usually spirit is the most common that i see, can vary though.
i used to see a lot of billy too in the past but haven’t seen much of him for a couple few months, which is a shame as i find him very fun to go against.
hag/myers too sometimes.

Danara, self-care is a perk you gain leveling up a character. Developers put it there, not solo players, or me. It is part of the game mechanics. So that means it is usable if it is valuable, and i think it is. In lobbies i often find people that in chat asks for gen rush, but gen rushing doesn't grant you a PIP point at the end of the game. What grants ranking up, is staying alive the longer possibile, making points. I see games where people greedily attack generators because they wanna exit fast, and fail miserably because a HilliBilly down them all at the very same gen! Time is not the only important part here. Do you wanna PIP? Then you have to fight a little more longer.
games go on long enough even without the use of self-care, the point i am making is that self-care makes it even longer. and just so you know the perk gives you nothing to pip either.
you can use the perk all you like, after all the developers did put it in the game for a reason. however like that other person said, maybe find the reason you’re always alive at the end of the match is because players like you are so busy self-caring in the corner of the map, instead of working as a team to make sure you escape with more people.
like i said, the bridge between solo’s and swf is huge and self care is a big cause of that
-
@aurum_exe said:
I'm a main solo player even if i play SWF sometimes, and 90% of the time i end up to be the last player in the game, and very often in this percentage i can get the exit. Why? Self-caring in a corner. While the others lay on the ground, 'cause handle injuried chase isn't that easy as you state, i still have one chance more to heal them, unhook them etc. while killer is distracted. So, self-care in a corner is good for me. Self-caring in a corner all the life.
it’s not as easy as i stated, that’s true. which is why i said to learn how to handle a chase injured. if many more survivors learn how, the problem of ‘omg, i’m injured! must instantly go to a corner and do nothing but self care for 32 seconds’ wouldn’t be a problem every time you get hit.
fact of the matter is self-care wastes a lot of valuable time, then it’s always the solo survivors complaining that they’re not on par with SWF, i wonder why? because everyone is running self-care unlike SWF.
if it’s that much of a problem, just equip other perks that help with survival like iron will, adren, ds etc.
i don’t even use adren i’ve started running hope and still don’t find any use for self-care.

@Groxiverde said:
There are people like you, who think that you win "by escaping" and there are people like me who only play for fun and that's why I use selfcare just to enjoy more the most entertaining thing of this game: being chased
i play for fun, fact of the matter is you really do win by escaping.
believe me i enjoy getting chased more than anything else survivor side. half the time i’m THAT survivor running the killer for minutes whilst my team are all busy self-caring in the corner. understand now?
-
@Seanzu said:
"Play the game how I want you to play it"
Or, you let solo players heal because if they're caught on the end game there's an 80% chance they get left on the hook while the other solo or SWF players leave.
If you get caught on a gen as solo and injured people aren't going to take hits for you, you're going down and you're losing a health state.
and longer games means more points, I see this as a non-issue.
not telling them to play that way at all, just letting people know you will lose over half your games if you play the entire match as a self-care bot.
some people really can’t stand being injured for longer than 5 seconds. that’s fine though, just waste 32 precious seconds whilst someone else is in a chase.
like the other person said there’s a time and place for self-care. usually during endgame or whatever scenario, but some people seem to forget that they can do stuff injured once they have the perk equipped...lol

I only really see it at green and yellow ranks. If it’s red or purple ranks it’s usually because you’re about to go into struggle that they’ll pull you off without BT. If they feel the killer is far enough is another reason or they’re just trying to get Deliverance or WGLF stack.
Currently at purple rank, I used to always be red ranks before they changed the pipping system.
I don’t have enough time to get back to red ranks but find myself getting matched with green-yellow ranks a lot but some of these games tilt me.
I had a legion match with thana-ruin and he was literally just tunnelling and nodding every time he downed them lol, I tried to help the Feng that was getting tunnelled by bodyblocking but then I was the second victim of it.
I just assumed someone hurt him or he’s really not happy with the legion update lol.
-
Her injured moaning is worse than Laurie
-
I think it would be a nice idea to switch character so up a bit, people are saying that it would switch up the meta to only claudettes/jake etc which is true, but in reality the game is already filled with Claudettes everywhere.
Yes there are meta sheep who will use whichever survivor has the best bonus but you have to remember that not everyone enjoys the same things, some people might enjoy a build for repairing gens quicker with resilience etc, a medic build for Claudette, or even a chasing build if there was a small boost to vaults to a certain survivor (maybe Meg or Feng?) Everyone has a different playstyle and this change would help enforce it.
and lets not forget the diehard mains. I know I still wouldn’t choose any other survivor over Meg even if she had the worst bonus of them all. It would just be a nice addition to make survivors unique.
-
Meg is bae, more cosmetics please.

@Peanits said:
If it's an actual infinite, you won't be able to catch them regardless. Infinites are, well, infinite.
If it's just a really strong loop, there's a couple things you could do:
- Try bamboozle. If it's a strong window, blocking it off takes it right out of the equation.
- Make sure you are running it the right way. Remember that survivors need a pretty big run-up to be able to fast vault a window. Most strong loops will have something in front of the window on one side to prevent that. If you change directions and force them to run the loop the other way, they'll be forced to do a much slower vault, allowing you to catch up much faster.
- Consider just breaking the chase for now. If you're spending a lot of time on one guy while everyone else works on generators, you're going to have a bad time. It's not a huge deal if you have one or two people hooked or downed, but you'll want to reconsider if everyone else is safe. Often times it's better to go chase and down an easier target for now and then deal with the one that's causing you problems later when you've got pressure on the others.
Thanks for the advice! I guess it’s true and I’ll just have to do option 3, finding another survivor to down which should be fairy easy as Myers.
I just need to try my best not to tunnel vision onto them but that’s on me to become a better killer.
-
@NoShinyPony said:
Myers can get looped for a long time. If it annoys you a lot, it definitely makes sense to switch to another killer.
And when you play Myers, it also makes sense to abandon some chases. If the survivors know what they are doing, you lose too much time chasing them in buildings like the one on Crotus Prenn.
I’ll always play Myers but yeah I understand I suppose the correct play would have been to collect all my stalk off him, leave him and down another survivor on the opposite side of the map just so they’re forced to leave the infinite area
-
Meg and Myers.
I enjoy playing some Kate too once in a while.

A Nurses calling is really good with him, especially with his EW2 terror radius, its really good.
Yeah I can imagine it’s good on him, maybe I should use that perk but still leaning towards the other two to help me in chase.
Does anyone think Brutal Strength would be better over Enduring seeing as when you’re tiering up I’ll just stalk as they throw the pallet down or would Enduring still be more efficient?
-
@Coriander said:
I'm someone who goes down in ten seconds. I'm Rank 8 currently because I do gens, I make saves, I cleanse totems, and aside from losing the killer only once in a while to a lucky mindgame I'm doing everything I'm supposed to be doing. That's why headless chickens like me end up in the purple ranks. It's not because I run the killer around for an hour, it's because in every other aspect, I'm useful.
I'm real sorry I'm not as good as the rest of the people at my rank, but I'm trying. I really practice looking where I'll go if the killer comes, checking which pallets are still available, and seeing which windows the map has blocked off or left open. It seems like the tactics I see in videos simply don't work in my version of the game, and the killers catch up all the time so easily. I always look behind when vaulting or check for the red light, but I'm hoping some of my issues will be fixed with dedicated servers. Otherwise, I'll keep practicing, and as long as everyone else gets out I'm happy.
I like this post, didn’t want to make this post to people who aren’t as good at running the killer and go down in 10 secs feel bad because it happens to everyone.
The post was more so dedicated to the people who just sit around crouching being useless etc. It’s nice to hear how you try your best to save everyone just like I do, teamwork is needed in order to survive and I don’t think some solo players don’t understand that or are too selfish and just want to camp the hatch.
-
Just remembered I had a match today where I looped the Pig the majority of the game, we got to end game and she finds me at the gate (both doors weren’t open) so of course I run her all the way to the other door on the opposite side of the map.
It was still not open. Mind you I see a Jake run by whilst I’m looping her and think he’s going to open the gate and surprise, he didn’t. By the way I was the obsession so they all knew how long I was getting chased for. I manage to run her just over halfway to the other exit door near the shack and neither the Nea and the other survivor came out looking to see if I needed a bodyblock, which they should’ve as they knew i was in chase. So I finally go down and see the Jake ALL the way on the other side not near the door (I assume he was looking for the hatch) and Nea and the other survivor left.
Just wanted to share my game with you guys which really got me salty but I still didn’t say bad anything to them endgame. I’ve had enough potato teammates today lol.
-
@Speshul_Kitten said:
@fluffybunny the worst part for me is when you’ve done all. the looping, exit gates are powered, you’re on the hook finally and your team decides to just leave you. Like, your welcome guys.
Word lol 😂 this has to be the most annoying
-
Yeah I usually only play solo survivor too I know how weak we are compared to swf, unfortunately I don’t have many friends to play this game with.
Literally 90% of the time I play solo because I’ve got no other friends to play with. Can imagine how much more enjoyable games would be in a swf group though...
-
LOL that gave me a laugh and I think it’s true. Such a bad perk that wastes so much time, I feel like when I play my teammates are obsessed with being full health, forgetting that this is a team game where you should be relying on each other in order to escape. Not sitting in a corner self-caring wasting so much time and watching the other survivors die on hook.
in short self-care makes survivors play like a pussy
-
Meg and Claudette have all perks for me, don’t play Claudette anymore and deciding on whether I should get all the perks on Jane or Kate (who are both P3 50 right now), leaning more towards Jane rn though
-
Either number 2 or 3 sound good, the hitbox radius would also be a nice qol buff. Nice suggestions.
-
I’d never hide in a locker because they’re very unsafe and the only perk that makes lockers safe is head on (unless you’re using one to hide your aura). You’re better off just getting behind some cover to be honest.
For the second scenario possible perks that can help with that are bond and empathy to know they’re coming towards you, otherwise it does happen to everybody (killer being lead to a different survivor) unfortunately. Just have to try your best to extend the chase and try to escape.
-
Meg is the most attractive, Kate used to be second but Jane took her spot
-
I don’t run it anymore, as others have said it takes too much time that you could be doing gens.
When I see people running self care I feel like they forget they can actually do stuff injured, and that you don’t always need to be fully healed to do objectives. Instead of running to the hook to get someone off so they don’t go into stage 2 they’d rather self care immediately.
-
Definetely I don’t play her at all except for her teachables because I can’t stand her injured noises, worse than Laurie imo
-
@Kagrenac said:
It's like 1.2 seconds I think. Maybe less than a second.
Enduring on ds makes the stun 2.8 seconds where the survivor has a 1.8 seconds to escape.
Thanks for clarifying, does seem a bit useless if they have enduring similar to the nerfed DS but who knows maybe they’ll buff the stun to 3.5 or 4 seconds or just fix the hitbox so it works more consistently or they could also decrease the time for the perk to activate by a second or so.
-
Meg because she’s bae and Jane is my second, Myers for killers.

@Kilmeran said:
@danara, sorry to tag you again, but meant to reply to your original post.
I'm a killer main. I find survivor, at least right now, a bit boring. I'm sure that will change at some point, but for now I like being the killer a lot more. I like being some of my favorite Iconic slasher genre characters like Myers or Bubba or Freddy. I don't feel that way for Pig, even though I find her fun, mainly because there were so many killers that John Kramer took under his wing throughout the series. Amanda was just one of them.
Anyway, I don't stress as killer. I came from Overwatch where you are so reliant on your team that even if you had the game of your week, one or two really bad teammates could still lose you the match. Repeatedly. So, you learn to not get too stressed over a win or loss once you deal with that for three years.
I patrol that map and listen to generators. You can hear them from a decent distance with a good headset. If it's active, I patrol the area and circle my way in, since typically a survivor will flee when the heartbeat gets close. I usually see them trying to get away and chase from that point.
I don't bother camping. Let 'em get unhooked. I'll probably catch them again. The only exception to that is if BBQ indicates one is near. Then I'll patrol that area. At my low rank, survivors tend to go for the dumbest unhooks known to man. So, I'll usually then pursue and down the unhooker and hook them. Easy two stacks of BBQ. Sometimes, rinse and repeat. I've gotten all four stacks fairly quickly that way. Otherwise, I'm off to around where the auras were, and if someone sneaks in for the unhook, that's fine.
So far, the low rank survivors really love their flashlights. So much so that I've gotten use to facing them. Now if I get blinded, that is totally on me.
You win some, you lose some. I've had a couple matches where I got some hooks, but no sacrifices. All four escaped. I just shrug and move on. Hell, in every slasher film ever made, the Killer loses in the end, anyway. Even the 2018 Halloween film. Myers got his ass kicked and lost three survivors in the end. I mentally chalk it up to an internal joke when they all escape: Those survivors were under contract to live through the movie.
The final thing that I do is keep after-match-chat closed (I'm on PC). The game is very relaxing when you don't see any potential text chat at the end of the match. I just check my BP gain, then carry on. I don't care about Piping or rank. I just want BP. That's all I play for. I stopped caring about Rank in any game once I walked away from Overwatch Competitive over a year ago.
I do the same too, now that I have bbq and chilli I could care less like the killers who just tunnel or camp the hook. I just want my 4 stacks and even if 3 or 4 escape I won’t even care as long as I get enough bp.
I came from League of Legends competitively which I played for about three years before my laptop broke and then I switched to DBD on PS4, I’ve thought about buying a pc constantly to play DBD as the graphics are much better but also ######### me is 360ing hell on console pretty sure because of the frames. I’ve been playing DBD for a little over half a year now and I plan to play for longer. If I do end up buying a PC the re grinding and purchases all over again are going to be terrible...
Yep I’ve noticed a lot of flashlights too... (can’t lie I use them if I can as my most preferred item as a survivor just because it took me a while to learn how to flashlight save efficiently and be a more versatile survivor). My favourite part of being a killer is most likely when you kill a swf duo with flashlights and when you kill one, the other dc’s or gives up lol. I usually let the other two solos escape.
and yeah I forgot to mention how many rude messages I receive whenever I play killer for whatever reason it may be happening during the match.

@danara, I just tonight, finally got the BBQ teachable unlocked on Bubba. To be honest, I've just been using him as an M1 killer. If there is a clear opportunity to chainsaw, I'll take it, but his M2 is just too situational on a lot of maps I keep getting.
Yeah, it's been boring, but I've been getting all four stacks of BBQ most games, so he's been a BP generator for sure.
Not too worried about Franklin's right now. I've noticed that even at my low rank, the survivors tend to find their items again, anyway. So, I stopped running it, and don't see it being a regular part of my loadouts for the time being. I'll unlock that at some later time.
I average 2k or 3k with Bubba. But, yeah, I can average 3k or 4k more consistently with Myers. He's who I intend to main, I'm just getting some teachables I want unlocked first. Doc is next, then Pig. I have Myers resting at Level 15 until I get the teachable unlocked so I can see how many he can RNG in the bloodweb.
I thought about Hag, but I think I am going to skip Ruin and her teachables for now. Unless the survivors are brain dead, the totems won't last long anyway. Nurse's teachables are a possibility, though.
But unless a Daily is easily doable for the extra BP, I'm just using Bubba to dump BP into bloodwebs to get teachables, for now (unless I am lucky enough that Doc or Pig manage to get BBQ at some point).
I play about five matches a night with Bubba (but don't play every night), so it takes me roughly a week to get teachables unlocked on each Killer. Could be worse.
Lol feel like we’re basically on the same boat. I’ve managed to get a few perks like ruin, m&a, discordance on my Myers but still want nurses perks, spirits and hillbilly. I really want enduring in general lol I think that perk is so useful. I just wanted to get bbq and chilli because after I p3 my Jane and get all perks on her I wanna be ready for when the next bp event is so I can spam level my killers and p3 Myers with bbq. (Hopefully an event is soon). Like you I can’t play very often as I work 5 days a week late shifts and come home and spend about 2-3 hours or so usually before going to bed. I usually try to play on my days off but even that is limited as I usually need to go out or have something to do sometimes. Just really hoping for a bp event soon because it would help me so much to just finish up leveling everything I want done.
-
@ChesterTheMolester said:
Myers mains have it so good, not only is he viable but virtually everything in his Bloodwebs serve some purpose even when it is just for shenanigans (except for the ######### jewelry addons). He is BP as efficient as it gets, that can't be said for most.
Yeah I’ve found he is very viable which is good because I’ve been leveling up Bubba for his teachables, mainly bbq and chilli lol and good lord is he really down there in strength. Yeah if i have a lucky time chainsawing multiple people then the game usually goes well, but that doesn’t normally happen. I’ve found Michael much more consistent in getting 3Ks and 4Ks compared to him.

I was thinking of buying a gaming pc but the only thing putting me off it is the amount of time I have spent on my account right now on PS4 as well as all the cosmetics and chapters I’ve bought...
