I asked this question earlier, had a mod respond. To answer, MMR is NOT out yet. In fact, it has yet to even have a date announced. It’s simply because of all the talk about it that people were expecting it to be in this patch.

Anyone else playing on multiple systems? I have quite literally all versions of this game aside from the PS4 version. Today I started playing this on Xbox and let me say that things are definitely off...
I've had plenty of times where the killers perks don't even show at all up until the game is over (I was sacrificed) now this I can assume may also be a anti-cheating type of thing and not a bug so that people probably don't die and squelch off to their buddies what the killer is running. But one thing I definitely know that is "not normal" is the frame rate. Now I understand I'm on Xbox and Microsoft isn't too big a fan to pay for more than their dollar store servers on this game... But my game tends to only ever lag right as I swing when playing killer, when a survivor does a 180° or 360° spin when I lunge attack or when a killer attacks at me with lunge. I've also noticed that sometimes when I'm spectating a game on another survivor that when they get hit 8/10 the game freezes up for me. Not them from what I'm aware of.
I figured this would be a good place to bring my questions and see if it's just Xbox, if it's only consoles, all of them or just the game. Either way, it kind of kills the gameplay after a while because I feel "clunky" when this keeps happening and I would like my gameplay to be far smoother lol
PS4 here. It’s pretty much how you describe. Surprisingly, some of it is my fault. As in, restarting the console tends to clear up a good chunk of the jitters.
As for killer perks being hidden, this was an actual decision by the devs over a year ago. I thought it was all systems, so I’m actually really surprised to hear that you can see killer perks before the end of the match on other systems! (To be clear, you’re referring to the post-game tally screen, right?). The point of this was to keep spectators from informing their buddies of killer perks over comms. If the killer has NOED, it’s not so fair for survivors to suddenly know before it procs (just an example. I’m not starting a NOED debate here.)
Anyway, hope this helps!
-
As an initial thought, the killer tries to mind-control survivors while chasing them. So maybe they have to deal with skill checks during the chase. Miss enough of them and the killer takes control.
Killer stops moving (looks afk), but still has terror radius. Killer player has 30 seconds to go attack other survivors with the mind-controlled survivor that has no terror radius. 😈
-
I’m about 60/40 leaning toward killer. My wife is the other way leaning survivor. We take turns, so it feels like 50/50 for each role.

Just so we're clear, I'm only making a note of it to bring to the team, it's not a confirmations that it will change.
Since we can’t be there in the meeting when you present the idea, would you mind sprinkling in a little bit of pleading on our behalf? Thank you kindly! 😉
-
When I play Trapper and a team is being all scummy, I’ll open the gate the moment the final gen pops. Then I find a nearby patch of grass and trap it. Back up a couple steps and go “afk”. You know they can’t resist taunting, so they get closer and closer, spinning their little circles. “You can’t get me”. “Go ahead, try to hit me”. “look at m—SNAP!
And off to the hook they go with a short EGC timer. This tactic pairs nicely with blood warden. 😈

What exactly did they change with sabotaging?
Starting tomorrow it’ll be much faster. Like 3 seconds if I remember correctly. Whether it’s a toolbox or the perk.
But there are other changes as well. Toolboxes get used up ultra fast, but don’t disappear when depleted. And the Hangman’s Trick perk gets a big buff. Namely, it’ll show auras of survivors who are near hooks when you pick up a downed one. That you you can walk toward a safer hook.
-
I think killers will need to always have a dedicated perk slot for Hangmans from now on.
-
Wanna make survivors suffer? Spend 30 minutes insta-joining lobbies and then leaving. Those survivors all waited 10+ minutes to get in and are now waiting again. But as fast as they plow through matches, the campfire simulator is what they REALLY want anyway, right?

Let's just say, do never use the Spasmodic Breath Add-On for Nurse until Devs confirmed a fix in the patch notes.
Ok good to know. I never play Nurse anyway (PS4 here) so I’m in the clear. Still curious though, what’s broken about the add on?
-
This is the first I’ve heard of this. Can someone explain exactly what it is that may lead to potential banning so I can avoid using it? As in, what is the add-on and what is the problem with using it?
-
@peanits please see OP

Make mories profitable so that BHVR will put in the time to make this happen. They should sell multiple per killer, and you customize your killer with your selected mori on the cosmetics tab.
Hag:
”The FaceHugger” — The survivor manages to stagger to his feet and turn around to face the Hag. At this point she leaps toward him and clamps onto his head with her hands and feet. She then lunges in for a face full of… face.
Hillbilly:
”Jerky” — He hog-ties the survivor, snaking a rope around the neck and each hand and foot. As this is happening a dark misty pole emerges from the ground. The Hillbilly strings the survivor up to hang from the pole. He then proceeds to cut the survivor into strips with his chainsaw so that there are five pieces dangling from the pole. Once finished, a black-flame fire ignites beneath the survivor pieces. (This is a reference to all the cows hanging from trees at Coldwind Farm).

So because they stacked the deck with a key and toolboxes, you're advice to the killer is "it's just a game bro". So because they took it seriously the killer isn't allowed to? Seems a little bit of a double standard.
While I agree they will spend way more time in queue than you, if you are someone who does have a rank goal or is looking to pip up getting a de-pip cause some 4 man sweatfest brought in every unbalanced advantage in the book isn't particularly fair.
Now if survivors bringing a key automatically guaranteed a safety pip for the killer this would be a different story, but as it currently stands the killer is left with a no-win game, a de-pip for their trouble, and a frankly crap experience just cause a group of survivors wanted to stack the deck.
Fair enough.
If you want pips: lobby dodge.
If not: “it’s just a game bro”.
-
I say play casual. Practice your chases, and consider anything you earn as bonus. This team is designed to quickly repair 2 gens and escape.
That’s fine and dandy. They get to play for 4 minutes and then go back to their campfire simulator for the next 10 minutes. You, on the other hand, get to instantly start up your next match against a new team and keep having fun. Not sure why they choose to spend their time like this, rushing from campfire to campfire, but oh well. Let ‘em!
-
I would say make an ultra rare that corrupts a cleansing pool every full minute that at least one survivor is infected. This will encourage them to cleanse and heal while they can before they run out of pools. (The pools reset if they all become corrupted, don’t they? Either way, survivors that don’t cleanse will always have to contend with “power puke”!)

Yes, we listen. We can't act on everything we see for many reasons. But we're definitely paying attention. I can think of a few updates we've made because of suggestions we saw here.
Also in the Feedback and Suggestions section, there are a lot of really great ideas for new killers, survivors, maps, chapters, perks, and lore. I’m curious if there is an official stance on this. There are a lot of players who, like me, would be thrilled to see their content ideas appear in-game (and maybe receive a little shout-out too 😏). To my knowledge, this hasn’t happened, so it has me wondering:
- Are there legal hurdles which prevent you from using these ideas?
- Do you guys already have enough ideas for the next few years, so you aren’t interested in new ones?
- Is there any chance you might do a contest where winners see their ideas in-game?
- Is it currently worthwhile for us to suggest new content?
(For the record, I’m not being negative, in case it seems that way through text. I’m truly curious about your stance on this.)
-
Sry, can’t vote on this. The choices are too limited. I dip the crust only

With the way matchmaking is going, I’d like to see a scatter plot showing the various ranks of each killer you faced. For example, you faced 23 Freddys, but how many of them were red rank?
The reason I bring this up is because you may have been going against a lot of casual players. We would probably see a trend of a select few red rank killer characters, as these players are intentionally trying to be competitive against survivors of your skill level.

Hi! I’ve been playing just as long on PS4 (I think). Started when it went free on ps+, so yeah.
Anyway, Welcome to the forums! There’s a lot of good here, so don’t let the meanies get you down. Sometimes people just need to vent after a rough match, ya know? Otherwise, kick back, relax, and share your thoughts!

I would tend to agree with you. Yet I would also argue that they should! There are some awesome ideas out there! I wish they could section off part of the forum so that good ideas aren’t buried into oblivion after an hour. Perhaps a way for people to continuously work together on an idea, tweaking it over an extended period.

I have an extremely good idea, (in my opinion) for a new Dead by Daylight killer. And I was wondering if the Devs take character ideas. I would also love to hear your character ideas and backstories.
You know, that’s a great question. I see new Killer ideas on the forums regularly. I’ve also posted several myself which I think would be fun (shameless plug for my Physicist idea!). However, to date, I don’t think any player ideas have made it into the game, or for that matter have even been told they’ll receive further consideration.
I would say do the following:
- post your idea
- see if it gets traction from the community
- make edits as you see fit using suggestions that had maybe never occurred to you
- repost the new and improved idea
- tag a dev in your post and cross your fingers that they’ll read it and give positive feedback

I like this as idea of distracting survivors from objective! But it doesn't distract anyone, because matches never last 15 minutes.
I think it should be separate caches for survivors and killer. What if conditions of this cache spawn would be like this: For survivors: no one hooked before 3 gens done (Or harder conditions, because it's casual scenario for low rank killers. Maybe make it attached to high ranks. That will make ranks mean something, in light of the match-picking rework in the future). And for killer: all survivors hooked at least once before 3 gens done.
If survivors make cache spawn condition, it spawns 4 caches. Each survivor can see only his own cache, so he can't claim more than one. Or maybe make 3-2 caches.
I see where you’re going with this, but there are a couple deeper issues here.
- First, the spawn was to be at some point in the first 15 minutes, or when the last gen pops, whichever comes first. So it still appears in every match.
- The idea of setting tougher spawn conditions is nice. Conversely, we could just start the match with it already spawned somewhere. Or maybe make it appear in the first 5 minutes instead of 15, so that it still has a good chance of competing for attention with generators.
- Tying those spawn conditions to rank is good in theory, but very rarely do we get games where all players are even close to the same rank. If red rank survivors going against a yellow rank killer would prevent the cache from spawning, then maybe rank will conditions need to wait for better matchmaking.
- I think it’s best to have only 1 cache spawn per match. This makes it a real point of contention between ALL players, even if they’re on the same team. It also makes it feel like that much more of a victory when you secure it, because you know you truly earned it!

That's a pretty good alternative too. I would hope it would include more than just items though, considering the fact that it definitely wouldn't be found in every match. Even if it is found, it is a matter of contesting it.
Thank you! Yeah, I like the idea of giving everyone a chance to prevent anyone else from opening it, even if it means having to search for it again. This could lead to some saltiness though. I can certainly envision a survivor letting a teammate die because they interrupted a search, lol!
As for rewards, how about a rarity scale for various rewards? (adjustable, as this is off the top of my head)
- 35% chance of 300k bp
- 25% chance of 1 bloodweb’s worth of items (lvl 50 bloodweb)
- 15% chance of 2 bloodwebs’ worth of items
- 10% chance of a cosmetic item
- 10% chance of 2,000 iridescent shards
- 5% chance of 500 auric cells
- 100% chance of bonus rift fragments during rift events.
These are just ideas, but I think this would be enough reward to cause a bit of a fuss over the box each match!
-
What if the box required 60 seconds of effort from players? All players. Cumulative. Hear me out:
The box spawns. A survivor finds it and starts opening it. 60 seconds required.
15 seconds later, another survivor comes within 4 meters and sees a new interaction appear on screen: “Disrupt”. Selecting the interaction causes the box to phase out and respawn elsewhere. Progress is NOT reset. The next player to find it only has to complete the remaining 45 seconds to finish opening the box.
The box will automatically phase out and respawn any time a survivor and killer are BOTH within 8 meters of it. This allows survivors to stop the killer from opening it, as well as gives the survivor a chance to run if the killer sneaks up on them while opening.
-
Survivor-sided or killer-sided, that can be tweaked and balanced by the devs. I’m intrigued by the idea overall and would love to see something like this come to fruition!
Btw, I think we’re missing a huge opportunity for a lore connection here. The Entity’s Cache? Well, the Entity has been known to take items for itself from bloodwebs. Surely those are stored somewhere, eh? While the devs may balk at the idea of giving out free cosmetics, they might still allow this cache to reward players with a collection of items and add ons. Perhaps the cache would grant you all the materials from one lvl 50 bloodweb for the current character. (Or 2 bloodwebs? Eh? Eh?)

As it is possible that they give so much advantage to the murderers, apart from the fact that they give them so many skills of vision it is that they can also hit you out of range and after you jumped a wall or a pallet, and even after that they also give offerings for vulnerability to last the entire game. This game is more than arranged for the killer to win all the games
Is there a code in the bold and nonbold words? Is it making a picture of some type? I’m looking at this every which way, but just can’t make out what you’re trying to do here.
-
While I wouldn’t call myself a killer main, I do lean slightly more in that direction. But to answer your question, no. I’m not hanging on. I played through the entire first rift. Lvl 70. Never paid for rift progress, just $10 at the very end to get all premium rewards.
Since then, I’ve played 2 matches (Last week). 1 survivor. 1 killer (wanted to try Oni.). That was enough. Looked for other things to do. Then I discovered The Office on Netflix.
Forums are still fun tho!

I know! It happens from time to time. It’s super creepy when it happens while the game is off! Like when you’re driving to work or frying up some eggs. And then, all of a sudden, in your right ear, a quick burst of panting with a bit of clicky clicky thrown in sometimes!
-
Maybe they could make some sort of “vintage” game mode where the game is played using a certain old patch number. Perhaps the one right after the Legion blade add-ons were fixed. Or maybe one from waaaay back in the first year of the game.
-
We need to be careful with threads like these. Hag is good. Hag is NOT problematic.
Let’s not get people thinking up any crazy ideas here. We just leave Hag alone and move along. Hey! Look over there! An original Nurse/Spirit/Legion! Go get it! Ok, byebye now.

Gore doesn't make something scary.
Gears of War has plenty of gore, DOOM has plenty of gore, hell Diablo had plenty of gore but its not "scary" because of it.
Suspense, the unknown, tension, anxiety, feeling helpless, being lost, being stalked these are types of things that stimulate fear.
If I see Trapper chasing me I have no fear in DBD, if I see Trapper chasing me but he has some guts hanging from his neck I still don't care, I've seen Trapper a million times and know everything he can do. I know my limits of what I can do against him. I know this song and dance is the same as all the others before it. Time and experience dull the senses.
The gore helps, but you’re right, it’s not the end-all-be-all. That’s why several of the suggestions I made earlier were specifically designed to affect you when you least expect it.
Imagine for a moment that the Trapper is chasing you at the swamp. You run across the wooden deck heading for a damaged gen to tap before jumping off the side. But before you get there, CRAAAACK! The deck breaks beneath you and you fall through. Now your heart’s racing! You need a new plan, and fast! Which way to turn? Which jump to take?

Incorporate dismemberments?
Incorporate a killer who excels at jump scares (I know there’s scratched mirror Myers, but I mean someone where that’s his base M.O.).
Incorporate environmental tension (steam pipes burst in your face sometimes. Meteors crash by your feet on occasion. Floors unexpectedly crumble and fall with you, even though you’ve run across that spot 5 times before with no trouble. 2-5 windows on each map have broken glass shards - Use them at your own risk. On and on...)
Incorporate predatory wildlife
Incorporate opportunistic features. Tools around the map that might help you, but might also fail you when you need them most. Thorny bushes that conceal you, but also injure you. This increases feelings of desperation.
Incorporate lasting injuries. Broke your ankle? I recommend stealth over boldness! Got your hand chopped off? Maybe working gens isn’t your strength this match.
Running into things should hurt (but not injure). Have you ever hit a barn wall with your face at full speed? I think I would be stunned for a moment!
BTW, where applicable, these suggestions should apply to both roles. (Imagine the killer fighting off a coyote. He tries to injure and scare it rather than kill it so that it can still pressure survivors too!)

Never had any problem playing Huntress on console. Shes my main. I'm not going to say it's not better on PC,but I wouldn't say it's unplayable or anything, like some make it out to be. I played on PC for like a year. Then on console for about a year, took a break and now back to console until I can get my PC back up. I kinda feel like Xbox might have more issues though,by reading some posts. I don't really get a lot of the issues people complain about. If you can aim,you can aim. I mean, that doesn't account for lag or other issues, but sometimes lag and hitboxes can work in your favor lol. I always give the devs some leeway. At least the game isn't dead,on any platform, which is a lot more than you can say for many online games of that age, especially asymmetrical ones.

I don’t think that would be good. Good survivors play immersed when they know the hatch is the only way out. The only difference is they all are immersed so they’re harder to find
Though you’re correct, I don’t necessarily see that as a bad thing. The whole idea of “Boldness” in a horror survival game has always seemed rather strange to me anyway. This would reward players for more careful actions.
Nonetheless, this would act as more of a safety net. Maybe they get themselves into an impossible 3-gen situation. Now they have the option to try to speed up the timer instead!
