  • Yeah, and there is the secondary blink (the bug where you can’t blink a second time) which is nice because just as they were cleaning up things it fell apart. This whole “fix it with ducktape” patches are very aggravating.

    THE HELL?

I recommend watching streamers/youtubers who mostly play Killer like Monto, they show you a lot of things from their own experience that you wouldn't believe possible. You can learn a lot from them to both avoid as survivor and abuse as killer

I know we all tired of the matchmaking rant posts, but it's Sunday early afternoon (EU time) and i cant believe this matchmaking.

I mean, the games are quick to find but I prefer waiting a feel minutes and get a some what good quality game.

Or you get a inexperienced killer or unmatched survivor. Or both. You have no choice...

Hoping to the new matchmaking to come asap.

That's not even the worst of it, I booted up the steam version (I usually play on the Microsoft pc edition; which has crossplay) and low and behold was I (rank 20) placed against all red rank survivors who gen rushed me instantly. Of course me being a Nurse with 1 perk (my Nurse was level 3) I decided to say screw that noise and just leave the game to go play another game. What happens? Well of course I get mocked and made fun of (even at rank 20) by these "pro" survivors (who all of course ran meta perks) and harassed me (I could have left the chat but I wanted to see all the comments these sad basement junkies had to say.) Just goes to show that the matchmaking can and will be much worse, not to mention the people who play this game ┐( ∵ )┌

How are builds like this allowed? They're borderline invincible to kill. I've fought toxic teams but this is one of the worst I've encountered in red ranks. When killer mains say survivors are op and the games survivor sided these are the builds they're talking about.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/W6F89D2EDJU0/20200605-213949.jpg

Yeah well don't fret because it happens in almost all ranks now as the entire rainbow of the survivor community makes it known to wield such builds (that one especially) not to mention that if your a killer who spends more time working then playing and don't kill them all you get ######### on regardless... Hate to be that killer main who says it, but survivors are just toxic and want to win every game. I could care less who wins as long as both sides have fun; but it's hard to have fun when you and 3 other friends are sweating hard and ######### talking killers because that's your idea of "fun"

  • @Poweas said:

I'll start, hate to play Nurse because of the bugs.

Hate to face Plague because she's fed her Corrupt Purge a lot by teammates and I turn into a nervous wreck when she chases me with it.

I hate to play any non M1 killer because survivors like to talk ######### when you play someone who requires skill and practice. Seriously, this community is a joke due to how this game continuously pits us against each other in a "fair" competitive game. It should be a horror game with scary killers and survivors who have no chance unless you know how to play (I'd prefer a game based on hiding more than running, but what can you do?)

  • @Jarmendo said:

Do you think there should be multiple game modes for the game?

    i.e a Hide and Seek game mode / 2 Killer v 8 Survivor / Hardcore (No Perks/Addons/Survivors Are Mori-able instantly) / Random Perks / Killer vs Killer

Some ideas I found and thought of myself that could be cool for a weekly rotation and any of them avaliable anytime in KYF

I like hardcore, it would show which of the red rank survivor mains and killer mains can actually play the game based off skill and their own intuition alone. Maybe the sweats would live in there so I can actually have fun again as a Nurse main instead of getting ######### on or being told I'm hacking for seeing someone in a locker as I blink through them lol. Honestly I like the idea of hide and seek as well as a 2v8 survivor game mode. Be really cool if we could also have (after thinking about it) a better customs with more creative freedom so that the community itself can just make their own games on a custom server browser kind of like what Overwatch does with their customs. Wouldn't mind being in a lobby where killers can chase survivors and survivors can just enter the game as "killable" or "non killable" so that people can chill or practice their game play for fun.

I don't like get a swf game too, but to be honest, a great survive with friends team is made by great solo survivors

I'd agree but come on... Really? Lol, no... There is no way, when I see swf all I see is meta perks on all four of them and then communicating at all times to feed information to the others. You always have one who loops the killer, one who does the gens, one who stands by and watches the killer and survivor to try for flashlight save if they have to and one who does gens and totems or helps with the killer if need be

Not to say there aren't swf out there who try crazy and wacky builds together and have a blast with it. But from my experience and hundreds of YouTube videos later... I can see in almost every single encounter with swf, there is meta perks and a lot of communication. Solo is mostly bad because of lack of communication and understanding of what everyone else needs. I think really what needs to be done is that the game needs an "in game voice chat" that everyone can use and is limited to distance (VR chat did it, so can this game) where people can use their microphones to talk to the other (if they are of course close enough) to communicate (or at least have like a cellphone to "text" to the other survivors (have like emergency buttons you can press quickly with the number keys: Killer on the way! I'm on a gen! Found a (insert item here)

Something to help further communication but also limit it so people can't just use Discord or something (of course they will continue to do that but if we're really going to make this game a "Competitive asymmetrical horror game" then we need to start looking at things from a fair but competitive stand point

  • @danielmaster87 said:

I've been playing solo survivor a lot recently and despite my killer experience, it wasn't cake like I thought. Sure I have less stress because I'm not in a chase a majority of the game, but that doesn't mean it's an easy win.

I'm at rank 5 and so I thought I'd be getting better and better teammates, but it's the opposite. A high rank killer against high rank survivors is pretty balanced, but baby survivors doing nothing and rage quitting will get you killed no matter how well you played. Those are the survivors I've been getting on my team consistently. I'm borderline red rank for God's sake; Why am I getting matched up with yellow ranks?! The game is nothing but rainbow lobbies, putting the best and worst survivors in the game in the same match. And then the killer's rank is a whole other issue. They can be a noob that you completely annihilate, or a hardcore player who completely annihilates you.

There's got to be a way to match people with others of the same skill level while also making wait times low. Wait times that I'll address in another discussion. The matchmaking is ludicrous with how inconsistent and bad it is. If you don't got good matchmaking, you got nothin'. Fix it already!

Must be lucky because as a killer main myself who doesn't play as often as I used to... All I ever face is ranks ranging between 1-12 at rank 16. Sure here and there I will face a rank 16 or 17 and (sadly kill them) but that's because I'm more of a rank 12 killer (given I don't have the time that's why my rank is a lot lower.) However, point aside... I have to face sweaty survivor mains who (wait for it...) ONLY run the meta build of (example being:) DS, BT, DH and SC (sometimes unbreakable) and they just loop me (some are better than others but most can't so they just 360 me by throwing their mouse) and frankly it upsets me. I get my objective is to "kill" and theirs is to "survive" but damn if it's not annoying going up against people who just love to teabag you at pallets and heal in front of you, pointing and what not and then ######### talking you because you didn't "do good" against them.

Not to mention if you do actually do good you get ######### on for "cheating" or "tunneling" or "camping" whatever excuse they can... You did it, even if you didn't. So again at least your killers can play the game, I don't get to and frankly I feel your pain as survivor (I'm not good at all, but know what needs to be done. In fact I'm dogshit at looping effectively) and end up doing most the work only to die in the end (sad enough the only times I escape is if it's a baby killer or if the killer carries me to hatch)

I'm sure the Killer knew he was doing something wrong when he got looped for 5 gens by a Red rank survivor.

After a point, some people are so skilled at something that you can't learn anything from them because the match is over before you can learn anything. If I continually place you against Michael Jordan in basketball, you would learn a LOT less than if you played people at your same level and the game would be miserable for you. It's unfair and telling someone to "git gud" is just asinine.

Sadly enough to say, it's been like this for months (from my experience longer...) And from what the Devs showed in their stream (future plans) it's not changing any time soon... Maybe it will and I'm wrong, but it's been this long since we've seen the matchmaking really be set up correctly and I think a good part of that is that many people left the game for a while. Myself included (trust me, it feels good) this game just isn't fun, it's not a horror game (I honestly wish I could know who said that because this game is ANYTHING but scary... Maybe it's scary like Overwatch in making people break their keyboards because people sweat this game like it was nationals or something.) This game used to be fun and now it's just a mess with some salt on top, those who were red rank before were really good players, now it's just people who run the same build on every survivor/killer as their favorite streamer and then talk ######### on the opposite side (win or lose) because they feel it's necessary to try and piss off someone rather than just shrug their shoulders and remember to have fun.

What kills a games aspect like that? Well honestly in my opinion it's the whole aspect of PVP, I don't know personally why but even since the days of old (talking about Quake multiplayer days) it's just been people trying to be better than someone else and then rubbing it in. Granted there will always be someone else better and someone else worse than most of us... The world is too heavily focused on YOU as a person having to be better than someone else because of the behaviors we gather from each other. Sure, pve is boring after a while and I understand that... But I'll be damned if someone is going to try and tell me the game is not enjoyable because I suck or something, it's unenjoyable because people make it that way. There is no room to even learn because we're so focused on trying to outplay the other side in every single way and then rubbing salt into the wound. Matchmaking definitely doesn't help because I've been stomped by red rank survivors after months of taking a break about two years ago and the first message I got from them was; "GG EZ, you suck ass as this game lol how'd you like them tbags?" <----######### like this is why no one has fun. Maybe some of us like to play casually and just have fun?

Anywho, now that I've shared my 2 cents on the matter... Yeah, matchmaking... It's broken and has been for a long time, I'm doubtful they will fix it and even if they do it'll probably be like all these other "fixes" where they are just bandaid patches

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

This will be my last post in this Thread. It is kinda sad to see how vehemently people defend someone who just queues up, goes into a game as AFK-Wraith without the intention to ever play this match...

    Anyway:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1315897#Comment_1315897

In my opinion, the unfun stuff should be removed. Like, I cannot blame anyone for killing on first Hook vs Iri Head Huntress. Or when they get camped by an Insidious Bubba (even tho, it would be nice if they would just struggle, but if they are Solo, I fully understand that they dont want to hang around for 2 minutes). If stuff like that gets removed, sure. Same for Killers btw., if the first thing they see is an Object who burned Ormond, I can understand that they dont like it.

What I dont like are people who suicide on first Hook, just because they are bad and went down first. Like, there is this Clown, doing nothing wrong, and they Suicide. Great.

But at least I get to play a game. Sure, a 3v1 sucks and it is most likely not winnable. But I get to play. And maybe get a decent amount of points, if the Killer is playing chill from this point on (not in a meaning to let everyone escape, but just not sweating that much) so that everyone gets a decent amount of points. Or they just slug everyone and want it over fast, cannot blame them for that tbh, even tho I always prefer the chill version, even as Killer.

But I cannot play a game when the Killer decides right from the start to be AFK as Wraith to get some Iridescent Shards. And this is my point.

    @AvisDeene

But at least you queued up with the intention to play that game. This is the difference from what I am talking about.

If "unfun" stuff should be removed then they would have already removed half the killers and half the survivor perks because it's "unfun" for the other side to deal with... Example, the entire survivor Meta perk build that every red rank runs because they can't really outplay the killer any other way. Or the basement Bubba who has insidious and face camps, or a good killer perk example being Franklin's and how evil it is. The devs work to fix whatever the majority vote is for or whatever hurts their business more. And frankly "unfun" isn't at the top of your list. I get you want to have fun but first of all... This game isn't anywhere near the term "fun" when half the time your put against people who are far too better or far too lacking in skill. The matchmaking is an absolute mess, has been, and always will be because people keep playing the game and the devs want to bring in a new audience.

In fact, with all things to consider in this game "broken" "glitched" "bugged" "not fair" and "unfun" you would think a killer just wanting to do their own thing would be at the bottom of your list. But hey, if pissing off the other side and forcing them to play to your own rules is what gets you going, start a petition called the "I'm always whining about dumb #########" and Hell I'll cast a vote for you... Because so far there is a lot more things going on in this game to make it "unfun" that are ruining the experience for everyone else

This is probably one of the most pathetic posts I have seen so far.

If someone does not want to play the game and decides to go for AFK-Wraith instead, then this person should not queue up. Simple as that. Dont want to play the game? Fine, then dont start a Match.

Another point being made without anything behind it. I play survivor, I wait maybe a minute or two for a game. I play it on Xbox as well, almost instantly get out in a game (sometimes I have to wait.) But hey, what do I know? I'm just a killer main and survivors are always in the right lol. No one can ever win in this game because everyone wants to fight each other over stupid stuff. Imagine, just imagine people getting mad over a killer not wanting to chase after people?? Imagine that for a minute... Now imagine all the people who get mad because maybe that same killer has grown tired of trying because everyone in this game sweats it like this was some league of legends stream for a thousand dollar prize... It's honestly sad that the killer is constantly being berated over what survivors want and then get called PATHETIC by some random person who literally only has one complaint which would fit along the category of "fun" for the survivors.

Honestly I wish every single killer did this, I would love if for one day every single killer sat in a corner and refused to do anything. This game would die off like a disease, why? Because then it wouldn't be fun for anyone. Maybe this post isn't about being adk but more about some of us looking to get our xp while punishing those sweaty ass survivors who will do literally whatever it takes to "pip" even if that means they have to degrade the other side in the end game chat and what not. This game will never be fun if everyone is constantly trying to screw over the other side but again... What do I know? Just a "pathetic" killer main who doesn't want to play this game like you put it lol

  • @toxcitynacl said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/156732/afk-bannable-for-killer-devs-please-answer-after-reading-carefully

And if you are a Wraith and go AFK the whole game? Everyone would probably de-pip and then had one who not only was AFK for almost the entire game then trapped a survivor on the front porch at Badham...refused to hit the person and forced them to remain on the porch until the EGC killed them off. That is the type person you wish something very very very bad happens to them.

All because you didn't pip? It's honestly hilarious to me that the only reasons anyone bitches about afk wraiths or afk killers in general is because "I don't get to pip" "I have to race around doing things to safety pip" "it's not fun" did you all ever think maybe it's more than what YOU want the game to be? Maybe a killer is tired of the whining survivor mains constantly berating them for playing the game in ways that irritate the survivors? Maybe the killer is busy with something and decides that they prefer the lower ranks and could use some xp along the way for staying in one spot? Again maybe it's just me, but the only people who seem to get pissed off about it are survivor players at higher ranks who can't "safety pip" or "pip" off a game... Ranks in this game are like crack, you all need to stop worrying about that crap and go outside or something honestly

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

I stay at Rank 16, I choose to stay at Rank 16.

I put Archer on my second screen and have fun with survivors.

Yeah but even at rank 16 you still get paired with sweaty ranks at 1-5, sadly I hopped on the game to check out Pyramid head before he dropped on all systems and lucky me... A rank 20 (first time playing on there so don't think I have any perks or anything) against ENDLESS red ranks ranging from 1-3 haven't seen a rank 4 yet. How did I get placed with people like that? Hell if I know, but after 3 games of being teabagged in the face by meta perk survivors (whole lotta skill goes in that, remember that😉😉😉) I just gave up and went on to play something else. The game is tedious and honestly you can't ever have fun in a game where people being dickheads to others is allowed because where there is PvP and anything to give an advantage over the other side, people will abuse the crap out of that stuff to "troll" and "tease" the other side and then run their faces in it

  • I mean, it sucks but it is what it is. For months their matchmaking has been broken and since the stream they shared a bunch of new images of all the stuff they have been working on (as well as what they will be working on) and I have yet to see matchmaking being anything on their list anytime soon. Especially after releasing Pyramid head and their ideas for later patches, your honestly just screwed like the rest of us🤷‍♀️

  • @Galklife said:

" Finally it would make the killer be able to walk away and take a much needed breather."

Did you think about break from the game? Thats the true breather.

Or just you should stop caring about outcome of the game?

Survs get crap for depiping but killers can do what they want?

And quote about XP is just sad, you know doing gens isnt fun? Funniest part of the game is interaction with killer and youre taking that away!

If i feel like deranking on killer im using my special wraith build (3 perks and 2 add ons are working against me + BBQ) so i will depip(most likely, but got quite a lot of 4k's too) and get almost guaranteed at least 20k bp + BBQ

So what your saying is the biggest reason you want killers to be banned for going afk is because it affects your rank? "YOUR" rank being affected is the only real issue you have? Because I saw you put that the survivors wouldn't be able to interact with said killer, however that doesn't keep the game from going on nor should that even matter as it seems the community is full of people hating the other for their side of "killer" and "survivor." Going as far as making really nasty builds to troll the other with and then teasing them and trash talking them for an easy win when half of your team was red ranks while the killer was a poor rank 16? I find that ludacris to even think your rank would be anything worthy of reporting a killer who gave up honestly. However your answer doesn't answer the question at hand because it's not a final answer from someone who helps create the rules

The best servers in the world, also why are you mad over a rank drop? Rank means nothing dude lol

So they have to include the words "for killer AND survivor side" on everything? When the ingame report specificly states AFKing a match, I think its being very clear.

I would think so seeing as a killer going afk is an easy win for survivors?

  • @GetDedicated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1312317#Comment_1312317

I do and I got 3/4 k every match. Killer isn't so hard. But some of them want so many help for devs to compensate their lack of skill.

Or perhaps it's the constant meta builds? Not to say I'm a really good killer myself, but it's really hard to play killer when you can't loop like a red rank but are faced off against them at rank 13 and lower. DS, BT, Unbreakable and I believe Iron will? These are only examples of the "Don't touch me" build as I like to call it. Though it's not "toxic" or "game breaking" it's like a basement Bubba build to baby survivors in the fact that no one can easily beat it and honestly no one wants to try. It's tedious and it's pissing off a lot of killers which then makes them want to camp more or slug more because it's the only way they can secure any (if any) kills when they do get people hooked. Killer sided or survivor sided (Let's not start an argument off this) it's hard to play this "horror game" (if you could even call it that) when both sides have many perks that work too well with one another to form what I call "nasty" builds. I see many red ranks run these builds and I ask if that's really a form of "skill" or if it's just someone running something that makes the game a lot harder for the other side to bear with. If you ask me it would be better to have no perks at all (except the 3 teachable perks for everyone to keep them unique, but not let them be teachable to other survivors/killers) so that variation lies in place of skill versus running a certain build on someone based off of three separate others. Just an idea of mine, only one opinion

  • @PatBrutal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/137144/wraith-afk-normal-grief-bannable

AFK can be abused, so the best way to report that kind of behavior is to report them via the in-game report (required). If you want to know more about the rules for the report system you can take a look at this page : https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system

Your rules state nothing on being afk, I understand that it can be abused; can being a word of may meanings. But I think the question is, if a killer decides for a match that they just really don't want to deal with what they are stepping into and don't want to face the DC penalty and decide the corner of the map looks cooler than the survivors... Would this killer be subjected to a report ticket by said survivors of that match for being afk? Or is this something that some killers can do since it doesn't hinder the game "unplayable" by survivor means

  • @Deathkabob said:

I just bought this game last week or so, rank 15 killer now and I play with rank 1 survivors pretty much every other game. It blows my mind that nothing has been done about this already, its EXTREMELY UNFAIR. I honestly don't care if I have to wait 5 minutes for a game. Just as long as its fair and we all have a good time.

Truth be told a lot has been done; They fixed the frame rate on the console version only years after it's release, they changed around a few other useless things, added a new killer and survivor as well as map AND not to mention they plan to change the graphics of the game to be more realistic looking. So keep in mind that they are doing a lot, just also keep in mind they aren't doing anything about the ongoing issue of pitting killers/survivors of low ranks with killers/survivors of high ranks because comedy...

It just goes to show you what kind of people this community has in it. Imagine having a dedicated dev team that does live streams from home, planning it out, and showing future content for us that they dont even have to do, all just to get "skip" spammed in the chat when they were showing off their mobile program. Do you ever stop to think that that woman might go back and watch chat later on to see what they thought of her presentation? Just to see impatient people being Aholes? Do you know how many developers there are that don't talk to their community? The majority of them, so stop being disrespectful children and enjoy the game.

I wasn't there but I would have certainly asked when our matchmaking issue would be resolved. I heard the changes would be dramatic in terms of look and design which is cool, but frankly not cool for my PC as it's pretty much as basic as it gets. And for the matchmaking thing I'm sure other will nitpick at... It's a serious issue that requires some attention. Design and look should be next to gameplay in terms of game logic. A game can look ok or even bad but if it's very easy and fun to play then it's worth the price of admission (can't tell you how many games I see that look amazing only fall on Steam because of lack of gameplay; perhaps the servers don't work well or the frames are horrible regardless of your PC spec ((Ark on release)) I'm hopeful these changes will be as cool as they look, run well and that other major issues get worked on as well 😊

It's not uncalled for. At all. In order to get to 6 and 24 hours, you have to DC 6 and 8 times respectively (Personally tested on an alt account, and I hardly think it would be different for someone else) in a short time span. At that point, it's not the game crashing, and it's not everyone elses fault. It's you for being a sore loser and disconnecting.

Right because connection issues and server issues are just a thing of misconception? "Sore loser" that's funny coming from a person who plays the same game as us and can clearly see the Matchmaking has been broken for about a month or two now... The game still hiccups and lags, they finally fixed the frame rate on both PC and Console as well as added a new killer; but the hackers who still break this game and their ######### matchmaking and people are just "sore losers" because their internet might be screwed up? I like that people like you are around to make the comments you do, shows exactly how one way street like your feeble minds are my guy. Especially in a time where we as a people need to come together and be a community rather than you isolating your head up your rear. Be considerate and remember that no one is perfect neither is their internet.

Patience, skill and determination... No one picks up a character and is instantly amazing with them. And I know a lot of killers say "Hard" as in they are hard to play... But she is definitely one of those killers that if you want results with, you put forth the effort and time.

FFS this has been a huge and apparent problem that has been given bandaid fixes that fixed NOTHING. Will they ever actually fix it? I mean, unless losing a gen for every chase is still fine and 'We need to snowball'. Spoiler, it isnt and it's about the same level of fun as getting facecamped by bubba

Yeah honestly as you climb the ranks as a killer it's more about which gens your willing to let go and which your willing to protect. Is a survivor hooked near one or planted firmly on one in the middle of a four stack? You have to count your losses before you start counting your gains so you make sure not to lose too much too quickly.

Focus the survivors that race back to gens and if none do then you chase down one who is weakest and closest to you. The more people you hurt the more healing they need to do, Killer isn't just (Tunnel someone and murder them and move onto the next target) you have to really focus your priorities and pick your battles.

I can already tell you have less than 500 hours in this game.

I don't see how that would matter in the slightest, you don't have to have over 2000 hours, 1000 hours or even 500 hours to understand how a game works if you know how to look at it from a mechanical point of view. To understand things on a level of balance is to be more than someone who plays the game every day or not. The developers don't play this game every day (I'm willing to bet some of them their selves don't even have over 500 hours in a game yet they are qualified to make changes to the system and I don't see you making points against that?) Go for whatever you want, this isn't here for the sake of argument or slandering this is here for the sharing of an opinion and if yours doesn't fit with mine then kindly share yours in reminding yourself that we're all supposed to respect one another.

  • And what is that even supposed to mean? How does one bring a peer review study for an opinion I clearly stated in my own post long ago?

  • @illusion said:

Not sure what you want from this post. You quit the game because it wasn't going your way, so yes, the other survivors have a right to be upset. You suspected that the killer would have NOED, but you couldn't know until the end, which you quit before reaching. Even if the killer had it, that is not an excuse to quit. Neither is determining in advance that you aren't going to win, so you just quit, rather than making an effort. You don't get better at a role when you quit when things aren't going your way, and you screw over your teammates in the process.

There is no such thing as a toxic build. The fact that you don't like it doesn't make it toxic. Also, your idea that most people DC when games are difficult, is completely wrong. Clearly that is something that you have made up in your own mind to try and justify your actions to yourself. I have never DC's from a game, no matter how hard it got, and MOST people don't.

I'm going to need to see some citation and a peer reviewed study on that statement at the end. And you didn't read well if you saw I said "end game chat" you would know I was around when the game ended. I disconnected seconds before the killer basically ended everyone else and hooked them all (30 seconds isn't all that much.) I may have been hasty to claim the things I have but you yourself were just as hasty to force the public on your side with a statement "MOST people don't" because I definitely remember when DC penalties weren't a thing it happened more than we saw Nurse players and Pigs thank you

  • Haven't ever met a Bubba who didn't facecamp

The devs make a huge hype for the next chapter, don't spoil it, give plenty of red herrings on purpose clearly, and you guys are disappointed in the chapter? I don't even like Silent Hill but I'm happy they're bringing something they're so passionate about and that they even did this, the chapter looks excellent but there's people going on here complaining? Just congratulate them and be nice. Saying you're disappointed isn't going to change the chapter.

This said, FANTASTIC job on the fourth year! I'm so excited to see the new map reworks, play with my console friends, and play with the Silent Hill DLC, I don't even know much abt that game but I'm excited as all hell to see how it transforms the game.

I'm not apposed to what they have added, I'm just disappointed that they have been focusing their resources on drawing in new crowds won't new killers and what not when the matchmaking is still broken as can be. I think he'll (or she'll I really don't know the gender of Pyramid head or what it is) be a great addition... But I think that making sure the game is functioning as it should properly be a thing too. Can't tell you how many games I see red ranks mixed with people at rank 15-16.

  • Better yet, your right... Let's reward the insta down killers by letting them get 4k after 4k at younger survivor ranks because the only way to really counter them is to loop? I hate to be that person who screams "Nerf this killer" but Leatherface is so damn easy to play that you can still 4k without even using his chainsaw... I've done it myself. His perks are absolutely disgusting; Being able to knock items out of the hands of others unless they have good memory or Plunderers to return later and get it (assuming the tunneling Leatherface didn't down them and hook them till death.) One that when you hook people you can look around to find your very next target to tunnel for a solid 20 seconds at most (assuming you have pallets to waste or the killer isn't skilled with looping and 360's.) And one which keeps survivors from being able to see other downed survivors auras (which I'm actually perfectly ok with as long as someone isn't just slugging to death the survivors.) Point being that Leatherface is the "go-to" when you want an easy game (especially at lower ranks) only way to ever combat him is to stay away and not everyone can do that especially early on. He's a killer meant to quickly down people without issue unless the killer behind the mouse is inexperienced

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

I just want to make sure I understand. You dc'd because leatherface ( ######### tier killer that can only keep up when he runs very specific add ons, and is so bad often HAS to run noed) managed to down all of you really early in the game. Which means major mistakes were made on your end anyway. And you want us to put ourself in your position and say yes, we'd dc too?

No. No I wouldnt. On top of that you said he was running bbq, franklins and noed so im betting his rank wasnt even high. Your team was right to yell, if you were going to get waxed then take the waxing and learn from it

Learn from it? Your right, my team's actions to stick around and die off like flies must be all my fault correct?

Click bait. Just kidding. (Ignore the weird ranks, it was a 4-man SWF)

Seriously, though, it got to the point that I was moonwalking from one gen to another because I could tell they all had it after a few episodes of seeing everyone scatter off a gen when I was standing far away in a corn field. 🤣

Do people really like it that much? Been seeing it more and more lately.

But you 4k'ed and not a single survivor ran DS, Dead hard, Adrenaline or Borrowed time? That to me is a game that any killer would gladly take over the sweats any day lol. Not to say they probably didn't give you a somewhat decent run for your money... But I'd rather them have perks that alert them when I'm staring them down than chase people who want me to hit them so they can ds me and teabag and then farm hook with borrowed all the while doing gens to pop adrenaline and trash talk me end game because I couldn't kill people for them running meta perks. Not to say I'm thrashing on you for the post... It's just, you got a really good game and obviously it went well if you 4k'ed... I wish my games were more like that these days.

Hell, not to mention the matchmaking was 75% on par this time as the majority was at your rank or really close! Can't tell you how many times at rank 15 or 16 when I'm just screwing around for shits and giggles I get placed with sweaty rank 4's and 3's and then when I actually play like when I was in rank 2-5 it's rank 16 survivors who are still learning loops... In fact, I envy you for this game lol

  • I think it's nice that we have DC penalties in a pandemic where everyone is using their internet. Just got DDOS'ed by some angry kids and now I'm facing a DC penalty. Oh, your internet hiccuped? Guess your waiting 30 minutes. Ahhh ok, so you didn't mean to click outside of your game and then click back only to accidently hit the X button to close said window... Guess you can play it again in about 2 hours... A DC penalty is nice, a progressing DC penalty isn't. Please at the very least bring this stuff to light and help these admins know that after being disconnected for real 2-3 times in 24 hours I'm not ok with waiting 30 minutes to an hour to play one game and neither should you all.

Am I saying I want actual dc's to to unpunished? No, they deserve to be punished. But we don't if it's a legitimate issue with our service provider or systems

  • I've been pissing people off by just playing an afk wraith and they still ######### about a "de-pip" like if your so good at your rank 4-5 then I suppose you won't have any issues getting back up one pip then? But no, they just wanna keep pressing on their own "issues" with the game by pushing onto the killer as they always do because a survivor at red rank is NEVER wrong lol. I'm just tired of the toxicity from them. You play and they get salty, you don't play they get salty, you bring some serious stuff to give them a challenge and they just add more salt... You can never win with people like this

before someone start writing like headless chicken "it's a good strategy according to the developers" I ask you to take 60 seconds to read my point of view.

I am not talking about facecamping in the endgame, but during the game. The hooked person doesnt Have fun. The other 3 survivors can only make gens and they don't enjoy themselves.

Ok, is that a problem? Yes.

If from tomorrow every killer started to do facecamping in every game, what would happen to the game? Short answer: it would die.

Long answer: more people would play survivor and enjoying the facecamping army, until no one will play survivor anymore.

In this strange period of our life (quarantine, i'm Italian) i Have played with almost 50 players.. 15 of them quit dbd for a bad night full of facecampers/ebony mori/irihuntress.

This things (like a keys) there are totally wrong for healthness of the game, because if every match u play vs a ebony mori/facecampers/key, why should u play another totally unfair and unpleasent game?

Starting tomorrow i gonna play only with purple keys (i Have at least 100) ebony mori (i Have at least 600) and facecamping. Maybe if every player starts playing in this way, the developers will finally understand that these things are a problem and that they should be fixed ASAP.

I have an idea, how about talking to the ######### red rank survivor swf groups that run DS, Borrowed time, Adrenaline and some other rediculous survivor perk and a flashlight before complaining about toxic killers. I get the hate for camping, I myself can't get past a camping bubba or wraith myself sometimes but things wouldn't be so bad if these "pro" survivor mains at red ranks would stop being so damn sweaty all the time and trying to rub everyone's faces in it.

I'm sure the same could be said for killers, but for every toxic killer there is a possibility of four more toxic survivors.

  • And to think I was going to ask if it was a better matchmaking system than what we have on PC lol

  • Survivor mains: Killers are toxic and facecamp me when I t-bag and treat them like animals

Also survivor mains: *Continuing to taunt baby killers*

  • Oh, thank you lol. I have only prestiged one character and that was Nurse from when I played her so much

If it would help reduce toxicity even by a little bit why not do it?

If it doesn't matter for killers at all just like you said but some survivors are getting targeted because of it why not remove it, how would that hurt DBD in any way?

So far no good argument was posted here to why names should be visible.

And no good arguement was posted to prove it lol, I understand again what your saying. But there is plenty more important work at hand that is needed long before anything like this is "brought to light"

  • @Brhoom said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1295562#Comment_1295562

Being in the game since release isn't a valid excuse for why it shouldn't be removed.

"brings a little mroe to play with" is a nice way of saying morri and tunnel. And your argument about the killer preparing for me doesn't work since for me to know how to outplay him I too need to know his name before the match so I can change my perks accordingly but that's just unfair.

I repeat, I' not asking to see killer's name since I play mostly Meyers and if survivors knew me I would be countered hard.

Again though, your point just doesn't have enough cause behind it. What more would this accomplish for either side? Sure it would reduce the amount of "hits" that killers would do or "lobby dodges" but a killer can choose to do that at any given time regardless who the survivors are. That's like getting mad at a game like Call of Duty for having a scoreboard screen before the match starts or getting mad at For Honor for showing your enemies and teammates names while on the loading screen... It's just not that major of an issue to require change lol, maybe if people started holding grudges more and harassed each other then I could see viable reason for change. However that's not even close to the case. I understand your upset by it and want to know why it's so "one sided" as you act it to be. However it really doesn't change all that much unless you have met the person before (in which case can't you just block them and then never have to see them again or does steam not work that way?)

Now when i ask who is the best Killer Youtuber or Twitch Streamer overall, im only talking out of Pure Skill and not Enjoyability.

Tru3Talent, Otz, Monto (when he's having a great game, however he seems to enjoy his games more than usual when he's playing causally)

But that's just my opinion, anyone who can take a loss and has fun with it is a winner in my book!

I've stated in my OP how names can and have ruined games for survivors with toxic killers.

Please don't try to dismiss a criticism without actually giving a valid excuse other than "it doesn't matter"

But how again is it a criticism?? It's just a function that has been here since release of the game and your just now complaining about it as if it broke your game lol. I'm not dismissing your point as much as I'm just asking why it matters? So what if someone recognizes you and brings a little more to play with? What if they lobby dodge you? A part of becoming better at a game is to play against people who are better than you and learning from it. If it's someone who recognizes you and wants to give you a run for your money you should be all too happy to play against them and learn ways to try and outplay them. I don't understand how this is such a big deal to you lol. I'd be far more concerned with other bugs and issues that need fixed than if a person can see your name in the lobby

  • @yandere777 said:

At first i personally thought she was pretty bad. Until i started using her and using her dash attack more often, i learned just how deadly she can be. And even though end game piggy got hurt it doesnt matter because thats just a gimmick. Her traps are still just as game threatening. Forget the head pops, just having 1 or even 2 traps on them around the start gives her sooo much pressure all you need on her are tracking and chase perks.

Speaking of chasing she is actually better than someone like bubba, clown or legion. Her dash can do so much to a survivors brain and even just crouching and uncrouching does numbers.

Incase you didnt notice i personally think she is pretty decent but I'm not here for that. I wanna know what you think about her when playing as or against her.

Ps if you a pig main slide me some tips lol

So I main Nurse, but lately I have found that Pig can be one of the best killers if you utilize her well enough. Many people tell you to use her dash attack more and more, I only use it to get a free hit on large loops. It's her stealth, you could say... "Well Myers has stealth and so does Ghost face, yeah Myers can't duck down but ghost face can and he's just as small as Pig..." Yada yada yada... A good pig player knows how to utilize stealth on approaching gens, hooks and beating a loop. I have spent the last several hours of my life working my way up from rank 17 to now rank 9 and having won 26 straight games in a row.

Here is a little hint for you, if you utilize your stealth well enough you can turn the game on your favor almost instantly by forcing the survivors to play altruisticly. Have one person on hook, wait outside the perimeter for your MYC to kick in, down the MYC victim and then tunnel the person who got unhooked. Hook the person who had MYC affected on them and then put a mask on the person who was unhooked and wait again. It's a very dirty tactic but one that works all too well for that clutch kill and multiple downs to win the end game. Can't tell you how many times I had forced the survivors to end the game on a 3 gen because I guarded the right gens I needed to and hooked people in the center to keep them coming to me

  • @Lx_malice said:

Which killer is the scariest to you to play against? For me it's probably Hag. Just minding your own business and stepping on a hag trap scares the absolute ######### out of me. Trapper too because he always has me worried to walk in grass and has me keep my eyes peeled.

Lol, well let me tell you after having a survivor break free of my grasp as pig, not her. She gives like the cutest little... Idek what you would call it, it's like a sneeze that a very small woman does and it's just so adorable. Nurse is kind of cute as well, but it's not as cute as it breaks my heart.

All in all who's the scariest killer in my opinion? Gameplay wise it's Michael, a good Michael can sneak up on me more times than I like to admit and it throws me into a paranoia. Who's the scariest killer via sound? I'd say Wraith. When you stun him or break free of his grasp he unleashes this terrifying roar that strikes my heart all kinds of terrifying. Not to mention his bell that everyone knows all too well from memory of first playing this game.

I'm asking to know why killers should see our names, and so far no good reason was given.

I believe no one should be able to see names till the end chat.

I mean, all in all it really doesn't matter. Names or not the killer can still see what characters they are up against and what items they are bringing. I just don't see a point to this is all. It's not really game breaking, very few people really complain about it in comparison to all other issues on these threads. It's just a thing the devs did that we have all grown to accept and continue on our lives with.

  • @Brhoom said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1294999#Comment_1294999

How does knowing my name help the killer in knowing what he is up against? And if it doesn't matter why not remove them then?

See if it doesn't matter then why support the arguement that they need removed?

  • @Brhoom said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1294953#Comment_1294953

So you agree that killers shouldn't see our names just like survivors can't so games don't turn toxic.

And that's not what I was saying, look... Toxicity will be in video games for as long as PvP is a thing. I understand what your saying, but you also have to remember that in order to be a decent survivor the first step is communication. No killer is going to be like, "Oh hey, Hillbilly... Nurse here, just found out there are two in the main building of the map." I understand your notion on toxicity but really the names don't matter... All it does is show the killer who and what they are up against, same would be said for survivors and they would remember certain killers. What if your a Billy main people REALLY don't like and want to practice Nurse one day? Next thing you know you come across a group of 4 who have you on their list? It'd be painful to deal with
