The issue with most if not all killers is the massive amount of handicaps they have to deal with ontop of the poorly designed maps that give survivors so many resources to against the handicapped killers.
As a killer you basically go in these games and end up being led around dirty loops, and way to many pallets that are so close to eachother it quickly becomes a massive chore to down 1 survivor. It's to difficult to get downs. Takes to long bc there are way to many pallets and jungle gyms stacked so close together they chain multiple ones.
You struggle. Badly. For 1 or 2 kills.
Their powers are to handicapped and easy to counter or evade. Nobody plays games to get stomped every match. It just isn't fun and you as a killer end up feeling frustrated, and helpless alot of times.
That's why you see so many unhappy killer players. The devs baby the survivors so much with the second chance perks and tons of pallets where killer gets none.
It's set up to lose. You win because mistakes they make send those kills don't feel rewarding.
To make killer more fun they need to make them feel stronger and like they actually have a chance in the fight that doesn't bank on survivor mistakes. There's just to many handicaps to deal with and no real balance.
-
I don't know about you guys but I love when I win a chase but lose bc dead hard at window or a pallet.
-
Its not boring to watch, it's just the game play is the same as any competent 4man. The only difference is the coordination that make them win quicker but when it comes to evading the killers it's the same.
The skill seems to come from the coordination more than killer evading during chasing.

DbD comp scene is all about how nasty and scary killers can be I think.
It actually shows the opposite. If anything, putting 4 competent players against even the best killer only shows just how hard the killers really have it. It shows how much killers struggle against all those perks that in my opinion unfairly aid them and give them many chances even though they lose at that chase.
I watched a competent killer 1k a match as pre nerfed wraith when he still had the built in windstorm boost, and 0k against them as twins and spirit.
The killer lost bc they kept helping eachother. Without the aid from their friends they wouldn't have made it out. It was the dead hard, borrowed time, and speed healing that did it.
Not the skill.
That's why I'm so confused why they say it's a competition. No offense to oracle, there good players.... but... I mean... it's just the typical stuff we see everyday from alot of others using their perks to aid them and teamwork that coms and swfs bring to the game
The killer cannot simply compete against all those stacked bonuses survivors get.
It's physically impossible. That's the design to the game.
Killers bank on mistakes for wins. And competent players make less of those mistakes.
-
Killer is fun until you get higher on mmr, and you immediately hit that brick wall where you go from chill, to semi-chill to sweating every match. It's immediately noticeable hiw different it is.
The difference is simply going against survivors that understand the map layouts, and know the loops that were given to them by the devs.
If 4 survivors know the loops, you will not 4k. Flat out. That's how it was designed. In those matches you have to test the survivors and try to find the weakest link of the 4 and try to snowball it from there.
I've had many high mmr games where I took to much time trying to catch the first 2 survivors I found bc both were good loopers and made it out with less than 6 hooks total and a 4 man escape.
-
So that's what that was?????
I played a match yesterday with all cross platform players, and was surprised I got messages in my chat at endgame.
-
I think everyone misses hooks from time to time. It's a spawn thing. You never know where they can pop up.
It's pretty common.
-
When I load in, and it's this map, I immediately meme and don't take it seriously for the sake of my sanity. I'll try to fo my best but I know it's a lose lose depending on how well the survivors understand the layout. If they know the loops it's a losing battle. So I just expect the worst. I take it as bad luck, we'll try next match
Unless the survivors are potatoes.

i tried the new "meta" build (Boil Over, FlipFlop, Unbreakable, Tenacity) and it's kinda useless in most situations when you play solo.
It shines when you have a friend who runs Breakout or Saboteur, but other than that you have to completely adjust your playstyle, run to corners and stuff and even then, if they don't fall down it does nearly nothing
The point people are afraid of is bully squads. Swfs that go in all run that, and abuse it just for laughs not caring about actually playing the game they just wanna cause the killer grief.
Once broken perks come kut, this tends to happen alot, and it takes a ton of feedback to get the devs to see survivors are maliciously doing this.
Sometimes I think the devs add the perks they do knowing builds are strong but think only a select few survivors will find out only to realize the opposite happens
They all find out quickly, and a ton of swfs abuse it for vids.
-
Badham Is so gross it makes you not want to leave any hook you get. Lol. Like I don't wanna gen patrol on this map. I wanna proxy camp all my chases bc the set up is so dirty. Ugh.
-
They get our money. Alot of it. Live off of it actually. They do well. They don't need hugs. They need to care about the game and the mass opinions of its players.
The issue seems to be a mass disconnect between the devs and it's playbase. Players say they don't understand their own game, and they say we don't understand the reasons behind why they do what they do etc.
Which is correct lies somewhere in the middle. It's a bit of both. They should be more transparent and have more open q and a sessions where they do their best to talk with us and answer questions, and we should be more respectful because they are people too.
-
I don't struggle against boil over in open areas, and let the resistance carry me whatever direction it's pulling until I can swing my momentum in the direction of the hook. It works well but only in open areas.
As for RPD boil over I haven't experienced that yet, and honestly won't. Mods don't delete this (again) when I say this but if I see RPD offerings in this state of the game, I'll assume it's for boil over hostage bully plays and I'll DC and move to a match where I can actually just Olay the game.
I'm not personally going to subject myself to that situation seeing how awful it is and knowing there's absolutely nothing that can be done to counter or give a fighting chance.
However, if hook rng plays a factor then I won't but so far it seems like there's no actual chance you can stop a wiggle off in the library.
I want to play the game, not be in a compilation video lol

It's same the other way round tho, how often do you see killers get extremely mad because they didnt get a single kill? how often do you see killers rage and scream "genrush" even though the match lasted 8+ minutes with 3 gens remaining with the final 3 gens being done 4 minutes later? How often do you see killers actively tunnel players who just wanted to get an envelope(yes, I have had those. I was already injured, I already basically gave you a free down by standing still, you could have waited 0.5 seconds longer and give me the points, but noooo, you had to be an ass).
As for survivors having the power role, not really. The power role switches constantly in this game, it's up to the opponents to take back the power role if they have lost it. The killer starts with it, survivors gain it by pressuring gens and then survivors have to fight to keep it, and if they dont keep it, they lose. Killers can take the power role back by pressuring back by slugging or hooking and there are plenty of games where killers never lose the power role, even if survivors got all gens.
You act like the killer has a choice in taking back the power role from survivors.
This game is designed for 4 people to work together to escape, not for a killer to 4k matches.
If the survivors all do gens and don't mess around, then will always get completed 100% of the time.
A killer is only as good as the mistakes made by the survivors. Hands down. This isn't an opinion. This is a fact. Therefore the power will always be in the hands of the 4 other players in the match.
Slugging is the only viable way to nasty a 4k, and that has a hard counter as well. Camping doesn't work. It's an easy escape for the other 3 survivors.
And slugging and camping are the two things people complain about when it comes to killers and look.. counters. Easy ones at that. 1 of the 16 survivor perks is all that's needed to counter slugging. 1.
Killers in the end have no real power in these games. Swfs prove that time and time again. Luckily, that's not all killers face against every game, and it it were, u wouldn't be playing this game anymore lol.
I hate playing against swfs. It's no fun most of the time. It's more of a headache.
-
Been playing pig. Been losing with pig. Definitely pig. She's worse than trickster.
They don't even bother taking the traps off. They just keep on rushing the gens. Her ambush doesn't do much bc of the massive alert she gives.
I have better luck just uncrouching and going for the m1.
She sucks.
-
I'm hearing a but of complaints about boil over bully swf builds and map offerings that complement the perk.....
But so far I've encountered boil over only a few times personally. And during those times yeah I struggled a bit but I still got the hook.
I have more trouble with being swarmed while carrying survivors bc of COH and fast heals then I do with boil over builds .
It just dropped so maybe it's just me that's not experiencing this very much.
Anyway sorry to hear your quitting the game. Guess I'll see you tomorrow. 😬
-
Guess I just missed the "they have had tomes for specific characters before" thing all together.
Anyway. Here's to Amanda. Cheers.
Saw 1 was the only good one anyway. The rest was gore porn. Maybe saw2 but the others... meh...
-
Heard it now. It's cool as hell. Lol. Do happy they put it back in and got that figured out.
-
I have to try it.
-
Did this just drop? Bc I haven't heard anything at all. But then again if it just dropped thats why. Haven't played him in a week

This. I think this is what happened to him. Otherwise it doesn't make sense. He probably had no idea, the poor bastard. My hats off to him.

@Phasmamain said:
Probably because there’s nothing for killers in this event. Plus the whole boil over RPD situation
That's not exactly true. You can gain massive bloodpoints as long as others drop envelopes as well.
If you really want massive gains play Bubba with his limiter, BBQ, and rack of 3 digits per match.
You'll lose the match but you'll get way more points then they do as long as you get multiple saw hits, and a handful of hooks. It's pretty funny.

Killer entitlement, complaining about survivors when killers have an over 70% winrate...
Know what's included in those stats? Noobs. Most of the killers that main killer are seasoned players in high mmr, the bracket where the game is broken for killers in favor of swfs to the point you feel it. You feel the handicap so much its comical.
Here ya go survivors... have 100 pallets, 10 dirty window loops per match, and when the killer catches up finally... don't worry family, we got you. Here's a massive speed boost so you can get to the other 90 pallets you haven't broken yet. Don't worry, the other 3 survivors will guarantee 3 gens popped on your first hook, and if the killer plays by the rules and doesn't camp, then you'll be safe to teabag and call him trash safely at the exit gate.
Sound about right? This is high mmr. This is dead by daylight. Screw those stats. Any seasoned player goes through this regularly. It's a crappy time against swfs. 100% of the time.
The only saving grace is good sports that treat you with respect at the end because they know what killers put up with. And those are rare to come by.
Look at the ratio of killer mains to survivors. Massive difference, and not just because it's 4 v 1, but because if playing killer was easy, or more enjoyable, you'd be waiting to get into matches as long as your swf parties do any given night.
I click killer, I'm instantly in a match. Every time.

It's reportable if it's taking the game hostage. If it's to injure all of you then it's fair game. That's the risk of one way in rooms
-
I've played against negan b4. Think it was a toxic experience.
-
This is why their Twitter feed should be tagged respectfully of the concerns if they don't read the forums.
I agree with this 100%.
Although I don't maim twins, I do play them semi regularly, and hate camping and refuse to do it. Therefore throw lots of matches.
But I don't care bc kick the baby is funny.
-
When I get my stalk off, it's super easy for survivors to just avoid getting hit. There's so many pallets they simply drop em and keep moving to the next one.
Honestly, unless they extend his exposed or make him a little faster any survivor can keep distance long enough to ride it out. Especially in the first half of the game when all pallets are up. That's a critical time to down people as well.
I do see why he's considered the worst in the game. His power has alot to be desired. Landing the exposed is hard enough as it is. While in stealth, I'll get exposed out of stealth and don't even see anyone around to see how let alone pull it off and get close enough to use it within the time you have to insta down.
It's hard to do, and the payoff is meh... I'm not having much luck so far. I'm 10 games in. So far I'm average 1 or 2k and it's usually at end game while proxy camping the hook in stealth. They get close enough and I simply chase them instead for another down.

They really don't. Can't really blame them though... it's a terrible perk on most Killers so almost nobody runs it. It is super satisfying to Coup lunge an injured person right before they get to a jungle gym pallet though.
I get a ton of use from it tho. Why does everyone say that? I've landed so many hits from coup.... they never expect it.

@James4125 said:
Most of his add ons suck the only really useful ones are the cooldown ones and even then that's only becausehis cooldownis insanely long fir how hit and miss his power is. All others either come with a huge downside like Ghostface caught on camera or just aren't actually very helpful to begin with like outdoor security camera.
What makes this worse is that those add ons were recently nerfed due to overuse making him even weaker.
I see that. Sucks. It's fun getting the stalk off tho. I may only get 1k but as long as someone poops their pants with a surprise attack I'm cool with it.
I hate going against him bc it makes me paranoid. I want to do that to others. Don't care about 4ks with him. I just wanna have some fun getting a few instadowns.
-
Iri button, thana, clourophobia, nurses, and a gen slow down or distressing.
Keep em hurt, keep bouncing around like a pinball, only commit if you can land the down.
Good thing about leigon is his bloodpoints gains. He racks up points when you keep using his power.

Do like me and switch to solo survivor with a rare sprinkling of killer. It’s not worth maining killer unless you’re really really good.
Thats not true. Even losing with style can be fun if you go in trying builds and certain playstyles.
Meme. It's supposed to be fun, and alot of times survivors make dumb mistakes when your not even trying to play seriously.
-
The whole point here is this game shouldn't be competitive seeing how handicapped so many of the killers are compared to that of the survivors, especially in pairs or groups of 3 or 4.
Every m1 killer feels the sluggish movement in chase. Evert m1 killer is a walking simulation on every survivor for the first several minutes of the game bc of pallets being all up, and speed perks like lithe, SP, etc.... then add in dead hard when they finally do catch up.
There's no competition against most groups that sit on gens while 1 or 2 take up 3 or 4 minutes of the killers time for 2 hooks.
Then the game ends. 5 or 6 minutes in. Killer has 3 or 4 hooks total. A hundred broken pallets, and feels like he sucks when in reality he doesn't suck necessarily, it's just the handicap of that particular killer.
Throw in survivor egos and you have a miserable time bc these poor bastards go in thinking they have a real fighting chance at dominating matches bc it's set up to be competitive yet devs slap on loads of obstacles and second chance perks
It's all designed to dely the time it takes for killers to actually down each survivor. It only takes 5 or 6 minutes to pop all the gens.
It's a losing battle for most killers from the start with the way its set up at the moment.
I feel for anyone that goes in thinking they are going to 4k and do well. It's a gamble.
Mmr is good to me for the tier down aspect. (If it works) in theory, if you have a terrible time, and lose massively, the next game should be a little better and so forth
The old system wasn't like that. This in theory should help you have better matches the more you lose. Etc...
Does it work? Who knows? I had a good day yesterday.... will I today? I dunno. We'll see.
All I know is I used to have full days where I got stomped every match to the point it was comical. Mmr should fix that.

It's pretty stupid, but with GF you can 99% a Survivors stalk and it won't decay at all ever. So 99 em, get up close, mark them, and down them before they can do anything

All I know is he struggles bad. Gens go so fast he can't even make his rounds on the survivors.
God forbid you miss 1 shot. They are gone.. poof.
Then when you don't, deadhard makes you miss anyway. Lmao.
These killers man.
-
I'm going in with nothing. As pinhead, leigon, twins, demo, and just grinding for hooks for the points to level up as much as possible.
I even get 2ks as scream base kit. I've had a few swf squads but mostly chill today. It's like.... when I try I get steamrolled by God tier survivors, yet when I go in being goofy I do better and end up trading hooks and stalling matches for points.
It's odd.
-
With Neme getting to tier 3 fast is important. He's great at loops and windows.
You can say the same for any m1 killer when it comes to bodyblocks at exit gate. Not just him. You can end loops with him fast if you mind game at loops. Pretend to tenticle strike on the first run around and gain distance. Then use it on the second. It works a good bit of the time.
Whip when you can, m1 when it's not worth the risk. He's fun. But all killers struggle at the exit gate without insta downs or proper perks.
-
As a killer main myself, I'll proxy camp hooks when I know survivors are near and are aching to get the save for sure.
But most killers don't like camping hooks unless they know an easy hit is nearby. Most killers enjoy the chase as much as the survivors do.
Experienced killers want as many hooks as possible, not kills necessarily. It's all about that 12 hook game. But unfortunately, not proxy camping and playing "fairly" causes gens to go super fast and the game ends quick and you get less of a chance at points.
It's a paradox.
But I will say this. Most killers don't have fun camping. We want to run around using our powers and chase for those sweet mind games. It's just not practical in alot of games so we have to decide... do we play dirty? Or screw it.... let's throw the match trying to get the most points?
-
The issue here isn't just fast heals. It's also free hits. When two or 3 survivors are swarming killers in the COH radius zone having medkits you'll consistently have healthy survivors bodyblocking you when your chasing an injured person.
It prevents you from ever downing them, and the moment you hit the healthy one, the injured one heals immediately and the chase starts over.
It's a filthy perk exploit. There's nothing killers can do aside from running perk loadouts like mad grit, starstruck.... but I don't want to have to rely on those specific perks to play the game every match.
Add in the fact they use d-strike, or d-hard while there friends are all bodyblocking and instahealing all match and you won't get hooks. You get huts. Alot of em. This is coming from playing m1 killers not instadown killers.
It's gross. But honestly the worst part about it, aside from absolutely no counters to these instaheals is its boring.
You'll spend all match hitting survivors that block you, run in your face, and have to re hit them over and over and over getting nowhere.
Snuff the boon, another lights. No counter. My poor scream was swarmed all match being bodyblocked into oblivion, and as soon as the speed boost away they hop a window, or stand at a pallet and heal in seconds just to run right back at you to bodyblock you some more.
I'm seeing this game play exploit pretty often in swfs. It's not fun. At all. Your a killer, who's playing defensively against unafraid survivors that want to get hit.
Lol.
-
Meh. Honestly as much as I love m1 killers, these days I play alot of instadown killers bc I run into coh so much that I find myself getting bored of constantly rehurting the survivors 100 times.
Even when you move past the rage it can cause, it gets old fast. I shouldn't have to resort to insta down gameplay when I hear boons going off 3 or 4 times in a match like ah.... okay... one of those games...
And you know those survivors when you see em bc they run right up to your face, get hit, sprint off, and heal immediately behind a pallet instantly.
-
His power is extremely weak. You have to be close to hit them after successfully using your power to snag them. Breaks to fast.
-
Makes sense. I can literally chase someone stalking and get the 1 hit if I keep at it. I guess his weakness is groups.
Takes alot of time to stalk tho. I guess he's considered the worst killer in the game for a reason.
Still kinda fun tho sneaking around if you don't care about losing and more just seeing if you can pull off stealth hits.
-
Trap the shack and main building like crazy. You'll get snags for sure but yeah, most the map is dead zones for him. You need to load up the building and heard them towards it. It works but not much else does.
When I play trapper there I usually get 3 or 4 traps playing that way. It's not that bad. It's just not many locations work but the ones that do work decently.
-
I'm having a decent time tonight. Playing killer I haven't had to many issues. Went against a few swfs but they were more interested in me than gens. Most matches so far have been either I steamroll or they steamroll but it isn't to bad. Idk.
-
She's easily one of the coolest killers. They put a ton of attention to detail with her. I just wish I could get those crows down. Its easier to play nurse for ke than her lmao
-
At the jungle gyms tho, it's taking a ahot in the dark nore than predicting. You have to guess when they are in the path bc you can't see them. I guess I'm all ears would be good with her.
-
Been playing sir Neme all day. I still try the spread the love tactics in most my games. I get 3rd tier quickly and hook and go. Hook and go. It works half the time. I only camp last hook if I care enough to wanna secure the kill or to trade hooks for more hooks b4 the match ends.
Face camping with him isn't the best option. He's not very strong in that sense
-
It's hard to be in a good mood when you play killer for a day. You want to be. You try to be. I always go in the game thinking it's just a game who cares if you lose...
Then you don't just lose. You get stomped. You get bullied. You feel powerless. You struggle so bad against sweat squads and endure the breakout meme perks and it all ends and you get 1 or 2 kills maybe and ask yourself why you even bother if your not having fun?
I have a good time 1 out of every 5 matches and on bad days I don't at all bc I'm going against teams with meta all day and I'm mentally exhausted when I log off.
I keep at it bc I love the game. I just hate what they've done, and it's in a rough spot for killers at the moment. God forbid you play clown, wraith, trapper, or mikey... for giggles and memes. You eat dirt every time.
No I don't play dbd just to play blight nurse and pyramid head every match. I wanna play all the killers. They are fun. But most eat dirt against teams. You can't enjoy a game that way.
-
Gotta run Franklin's, and starstruck, and mad grit, and corrupt to actually play the game as killer. Otherwise you get bullied, ganged up on, and clicked at all game. It's pretty gross. So fun.... let's be swarmed all match instead of feared. Yeah Dwight pop that gen in my face Then DH safely to that pallet for a free 30 second loop where you turn and click each time you hop a window or pallet. So cool bro. So original.
Oh and please.... all 4 ride the end game timer down as much as possible safely against the exit and spam flashlights and teabag me until I have to individually hit each of you out to make the game end.
