  • I think they did something with the lighting. This is the only map where my monitor darkens like that. Legit black outside unless I'm on the sidewalk.

I had to DC. I couldn't see lol.

He was always bad. So the nerf was like "#########". To beat him in chase, you basically stop him from doing anything, which you can do as survivor. He has to uncloak to hit you, and when he does that he slows down massively, making his speed practically useless. His pre-nerf lunge at best broke even with the slowdown, and now it's gone. His lunge around even short loops is clunky and arguably worse than Pig's dash attack. His lunge certainly can't reach survivors at longer loops like jungle gyms. Windows destroy him as always. I've tried to play Wraith, I really have. But he sucks so bad. The only time I succeeded with post-nerf Wraith is when I was consistently matched against bad survivors.

Here's how a chase with him against smart survivors goes down: They see or hear you coming, they start holding forward. When you finally catch up to them, you might as well uncloak and run the loop like a normal M1 killer, because if you don't, pain ensues. If you try to hit them at a window, they wait for you to uncloak then they vault it. If you try to uncloak under a pallet, they run away from the loop. If you try to hit them around the loop while they're under the pallet, they run away from the loop or drop it on you. If you try to body block them without Windstorm add-ons, you'll probably fail. Whether the survivors are in the open or at a loop, you're not gaining distance on them by uncloaking because the slowdown negates your speed.

It's such a meme killer at this point. I'd almost say Wraith is worse than Twins. Why play a killer with mobility if he's got no lethality?

They messed up nerfing the boost after uncloaking for sure. I like wraith. I just don't get why the devs felt the need to nerf him. I guess they saw something in the stats we don't know about.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

The word "sweaty" needs just erasing. Survivors and killers want to do well. Survivors and killers want to play as they like. As with any game, the aim is to do well or complete. If I was playing "Silent Hill 2" and kept my health at max and avoid monsters, that's hardly frickin' "sweaty"! If I'm maxing out all skills in "Fallout: New Vegas", I'm not being "sweaty"!

It's a ridiculous description for any player who just so happens to do better in 1 trial with that one other person. How about, rather than people calling others "tryhards" or "sweaty", those individuals look at their own game and learn to improve.

Sure I'll just improve with wraith.

Wait I can't COH is a thing now. There goes keeping anyone hurt.

That's okay.... I'll just commit to chases then... oh... crap... they nerfed that too.

Guess I'll just figure out another way to improve with my nerfed killer against these 4man buffed up swfs.

Saying to just improve is vague. You do realize at some point your skill is capped as killer right? It doesn't matter how well you understand the mechanics of the game or predict survivor moves... your just in a losing situation case in point.

Unless.... you play sweaty. Camp, tunnel someone out early. These gross sweat tactics are indeed sweaty. This term is a real term.

Went from mediocre to bad. But he used to be garbage so just smile and be happy..or something.

    😬 πŸ‘ˆ that good?

  • Billy is all about map pressure. You need to play him like a pinball. You zoom around the map gen to gen to gen. When you find someone you M1 them unless they are in the open. The best time to chainsaw with Billy is when they are outpositioned.

Hook, and zoom some more. I find his best add-ons are his steering ones. If you get decent at turning with him, you can lap the map looking for survivors.

Find hook and zoom. M1 mostly, or insta saw in the open or if your right ontop of them.

Look down at their feet as you Rev and back up some b4 you take off to make sure you hit them b4 they turn last second.

He's alot of fun but good survivors know to stay bear objects loops and windows.

  • @Laluzi said:

The lunge nerf hurt him by removing his antiloop, but CoH is the real nail in his coffin. He's always been a killer good at getting the first hit and bad at the second. He can't deal with CoH constantly and reliably erasing his hits.

Agreed. Instaheals destroy him. If you can't keep people hurt, you get nowhere unless you commit to the chase which is fine, but they nerfed that too. So he's slow again 😐

  • I snowballed a 3k at basement with Billy. Hooked 2, and temporarily had insidious from tinker and got the third off guard.

4th dude got hatch bc he hid. Decided to make lots of noise to let me know b4 he jumped in.

3k. Only9k points and nobody pips.

Guess devs don't like when that happens. I do. So stupid you get penalized for snowballing bad survivor plays.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

He was never good to begin with. His buff pushed him to C tier at best, this nerf pushed him down to D tier again

No he was for awhile. With speed add-ons and b4 COH the hit and run was strong.

Now they all heal instantly, and he is slow out of uncloak again unless your super close to them.

Sucks. He was alot of fun to play. :(

LOL. Like we have Survivors on a side and Killers on the other. Most of us play both sides and aren't insulting in the end game chat. You act like everyone does.

Majority rules. Dbd is mob rule. Survivors are most definitely the more toxic group. I play killer most of the time, and I would say over half of my matches are 3 or 4 swf teams and every single one of them have at least one gross toxic player.

They may not always blast the chat in the end, but I'm getting teabag spamming after every pallet and window vault almost every game I play.

I've learned to ignore the BM. Survivors do gens in my face bc they aren't afraid of killers anymore.

It's most definitely the BEHAVIOR and attitude of swf teams. They expect the win, and God forbid they get outplayed once in awhile.

The anger comes in waves I've never seen in a game before.

And I come from the call of duty days where being racist and mother insulting was a right of passage

    Dbd is worse than that.

  • That moron would have said that if you had 4k too. It's just BM bullcrap that's typical from survivors. They expect to win these days.

If they do, they call you trash. If they don't they call you trash.

Turn off the chat and facecamp some games using NOED. You'll have more fun. Make it about you. And only you. Tunnel the hell out of 1 person each game you play to better your odds.

Th3n watch them cry at the end. The typical concenses is only survivors are allowed to be toxic. You do it, and sit back with some popcorn and enjoy yourself.

    Switch it up. Screw em.

Explain slightly nerfed, because slingher got destroyed, pinhead was already average and got nerfed, wraith after few little buffs was better then got nerfed and back to average, twins.....nerfs an bugs, trickster had to receive tons of buffs and after 3/4 months of it's release, it was considerable "playable", Billy? Destroyed, but hey, look how BH cares of killers because it made the trapper not miserable and plague good!

Killer roster is already small( blight/nurse/pkague) even the slightest nerf on a killer has a huge impact on killers.

Billy wasn't destroyed. The overheating thing is dumb, and isn't even an issue. So I don't get why it's even there.

They killed his add-ons. That's the problem. He was never all that great to begin with without add-ons.

That's what hurt him. Other than movement control all his other add-ons are so situational its silly they are even there.

He's still fun, but just not strong anymore. It feels like going in with no addon Billy now.

  • I don't want a power rework. He just needs to damn good add-ons. Speed him up, decrease his cool down, and make his base frenzy longer so he has no issues making it across maps.

He was designed to chain hit. Let him. Most survivors don't heal against him anyway. So who cares if he's frenzying toward you to hit you while your injured again?

He gets points, you mend, and back on the gen you go. I know it's an annoying playstyle as a survivor to constantly mend but the points you get is absurd in the grans scheme of things.

Leigon should be a point earning machine. He already is, so imagine if he could chain better. Survivors still get gens done but the trade off is points.

That's where the devs need to focus. Let Leigon be that 1 killer that racks up points. Even if he is still kinda weak, he'll be played more for em.

  • None. I have had zero games where anyone whatsoever has used them. It's back to normal, abusing killers pointing, taunting, 3 man/4man swfs all using meta second chance perks while teabagging after dead hard and d strikes, and gen rushing games while i sweat for more than 3 hooks and feel like a punching bag and silly all match.

Remind me again why I keep playing? O yeah, here ya go... a new sweater.... a new outfit... weee...

    Merry Christmas .

Well, I suppose you could smurf your Legion MMR down this way. But then you have to play Legion.

Plus...smurfing absolutely kills games. I really don't enjoy doing it.

After 10 matches of 4man swf squads I get stressed dealing with the 16 meta stacked second chance perks they ten to run every game so I tend to play annoying leigon builds, Bubba basement, or zoom zoom Billy matches to get some laughs. Decrease the mmr some, and gain bp.

It's just how I tend to deal with sweat stress personally.

I wish we had more variety of killers and perk loadouts in high mmr. Honestly man playing well is fun... I enjoy the chases I just hate all the meta perks I have to deal with.

Maybe one day devs will do something to make high mmr more fun

    But until then

    Weeeeee!! Zoom zoom Billy activate!!!!

I should really start clipping my postgame screens, because I get a lot of '4 man meta deathsquads'. I can sometimes give them a decent game on Hag, but any other killer I get rocked.

The most annoying thing, as per the MMR responses yesterday - you don't lose any MMR for these 'sacrificial' matches, so it's entirely possible to get them multiple times in a row.

Play leigon, frenzy like he'll for bloodpoints for 3 or 4 matches straight focusing on deep wound and points not kills.

That way, your grind out tons of points per match, and derank in MMR

It's a win win situation. After you derank then you can play killers you enjoy more and have less bullying.

  • @CashelP14 said:

You shouldn't be matched with good players this quick after playing the new killer. Sorry for the tough games.

Your games were bad but that doesn't mean she isn't viable vs a swf. Your still learning her so that makes a massive difference.

Put it this way. I can't say Nurse isn't viable vs swf even on my tenth game playing as her. You need to master them before you can say those things.

I've had a few cool downs with the crows. But all in all, it takes to long to set it up before they just leave once crow comes out.

Now long corridors like side of houses at Haddonfield I got a few downs. Almost never at jungle gyms. They tend to leave.

Either that, or I'm guessing when they run through it bc I'm on the other side when they get pushed to it and I'm blind to it.

Kinda wish they had a arson where it glows when they run through the path

It's not irrelevant because you're playing with two separate groups that has no information with each other but you keep implying they're all friends which they aren't but you don't like that being called out because it paints your narrative easier right?

Nope not a God but I do acknowledge my faults if I got baited into a stun play. You can actually it's called learning locker placement. Survivor pathing is weird you can guess where the head on is coming from.

Oh so you make mistakes but apparently can't admit that maybe you played that match bad? It's TWO MAN SF group's fault lmao.

Not a squad if it's two man friends by the way.

    Can't argue with ignorance 🀷

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2672577#Comment_2672577

Yes, you're not doing that because it's easy to blame a known issue in the game despite having red flags in your entire post that shows how you're lacking in fundamentals. It's not a new killer problem. If you're getting head on several times in a match sorry but you fell for obvious baits.

    4 Man?

I thought you were against a 2 man separate groups? Also what meta perks? I thought you were against break out which isn't meta and apparently Head on since you keep mentioning lockers. Looking at your post how did they go from two guys running break out/head on supposedly into all of them running 4 man meta perks? I like how you conveniently added the fact they were using strong equipment/add ons or boons just now when you didn't mention that on your initial post. Sound odd but whatever, Be sure to add every context next time.

I just don't buy your post all it's riddles of red flag of someone inexperienced with the game just putting blame on a convenient excuse the community like to use. Like I said. The game has problems but it's also important to know that maybe you played bad? Of course it's easier to put the entire blame on something everyone agrees to right?

Either put a video and let us critique what's the problem or don't because game is unbalanced definitely not because I played bad and kept getting chain blinded lol.

I'd love to see you never get baited into a break out stun.

2 2man groups. That's enough. That's just as bad as a 4man. More than enough coordination needed. You can go through what I say with a fine tooth comb all you want and point out miswording if I had said 4man or 2man is irrelevant.

You must just be a God killer then. Never get baited into stun plays from teams. Well good for you. The majority of us killers don't have the luxury of knowing all the time which locker the swf friend hides In during a chase.

    Lol.

I never once stated I was the best killer. I'm not bad... but I make mistakes like everyone else. Especially against teams of sweat bully groups. It's difficult going against squads. They always outperform you so long pallets are around to do so.

Just everything what is wrong with this Forum:

Killer player plays ONE (in numbers: 1) game with a Killer they are learning, loses this game and rushes to the Forums to complain.

But said Killer player does not arrive at the Forums when they stomp a few Survivors, because this is how it should be. But losing is a nono.

Well no. You missed the point. The overall message was mostly in regards to swf bully squads behaviors. Especially towards a new killer. Not about winning or losing in general.

If you read Through this you would see that most killers don't care about winning or losing as a whole. We all just feel the massive power imbalance during the match against swfs and it makes for a stressful unfun game.

As killer you shouldn't feel so powerless and helpless like you do. But unfortunately after boons, it really shifted the role harder seeing hit and run and alot of injured killer builds are now no longer viable.

    Poor thanataphobia :(

    Poor hag. :(

  • @Jplanas98 said:

Originally I would've agreed, but as I've gotten to learn how to play her, I disagree. I've already had a few bully squads that I've faced and have 4K'd against them. The game seems like a loss at first because of how fast they do gens, but late game if you have them stuck in a 3 gen the Artist can apply massive amounts of pressure on them. I pretty much just let them repair the first 3 gens while I basically set them up for a 3 gen late game and I almost always win because of the pressure I put on them. I don't bother chasing survivors who run to the opposite side of the map since there's no gens over there so eventually they'll have to sacrifice themselves just to get gens done.

I definitely see the 3 gen pressure advantage with her for sure. If you can get that, then yeah definitely.

Reminds me of doctor in a way. Kinda weak, but if you get a three gen with him and your running pop or even overcharge it can be deadly amounts of pressure.

I also like how once the exit gates are powered you can shoot a bird at the exit gate and tag someone trying to open the gate which pushes them off or at least let's you see and Hone in from a distance.

I've gotten several end game kills from that alone. Severe salt too

"So when you pick up a new killer, it just makes it that much more miserable learning bc they bully even harder bc they smell you're new with it."

Yep you are probably correct that now is a good time for bully squads as they know they'll be facing players unfamiliar with the new Killer.

And then you have to deal with people who aren't toxic, just good at survivor, as its probably easier to play against Artist, than play her, when you are inexperienced, as in the former its still the same controls for Survivor, you just have to loop a bit differently.

But there are still probably more players who just want to go against the new Killer, so bully squads should be the minority.

Again, I would avoid playing at 5AM, as you are more likely to play against sweats at unsociable hours.

Yeah. Oh I have no problems losing. Nor do I have any issues with survivors that are just good with their Meta perks and know how to loop. I get frustrated yes... but not at them. More so the overall mechanics of the game in those situations.

However, I do get mad at bully squads. I do take that a bit personally when I'm attacked in the chats, and abused in the game bc they can. Ganged up on and stacked stun perks is dirty, and always unfun and anger inducing, especially when you just wanna have a chill time and play around some at loops trying to get her power down but can't bc bully reasons.

5am bad time? Maybe. But I'll still do it bc I'm glutton for punishment, also bc my schedule doesn't permit me to play midday as often bc I'm a busy dude. I play when I can. Unfortunately sometimes it's the we hours of the morning or late at night.

The artist is cool tho. Don't be mean to her in the game lol. Let her do her thing. Just do gens, get some stuns and stuff and leave. Ya know?

  • @xili84 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2672413#Comment_2672413

It is SO easy to dodge artist though, this is not a matter of learning. You get slowed down massively every time you want to place a crow. Survivors who are not braindead just move to the next loop and repeat the process. Holding W is the counter. Her crows are good for info, but other than that, they are very unreliable and only slow you down from their W.

You do. I love her. But I have to admit. She's rough to play. The slow down is indeed massive. They see the bird right? That's a flaw I think. Bc you pre-place your birds at a loop, and they simply move away from it to another.

The only times I've been able to successfully land a down from it is when I get them outpositioned and they have nowhere else to go, and that is situational at best.

Also, the screams she makes while shooting her birds for tracking reasons, do the survivors hear that? If so, all they have to do is simply back away from the gen for 5 seconds, and continue repairing me thinks.

I like her tho. I'm going to keep trying. See if I can find a good build.

  • @Myla said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2672542#Comment_2672542

The bullying won't be that severe though or you might as well have won that game if they're messing around in that match.

Again I know the game has problems and it's a convenient excuse to use but this sounds like a You issue. Record a match here and let the forum here watch it. If the match was truly unsalvageable despite playing well then I'll apologize.

I'm not doing that. Anyone who plays killer understands your not supposed to win against a 4man swf. You can't unless you play nurse, blight, or they make a mistake.

I was playing the new killer who gets wrecked against teams let alone anyone who knows how to leave a loop the second a bird deploys.

I'm not a bad killer. I'm not the best. But I'm not bad. You will lose every time you go against a 4man meta running free heal for all boons, purple add ons and friend coordination.

That's supposed to happen. That's how it's designed. Any long time playing youtuber says the same thing. Look at trutalent. Hands down one of the best level headed calm killers out there. He gets wrecked against 4mans most of the time. He gets 1k maybe 2k if he sweats hard on those.

He laughs at it. Bc it's silly. The survivors are so strong these days they can bully. Bc they know they can. And they do.

Killer is weak. Nobody is afraid of them anymore.

    Facts.

So when you pick up a new killer, it just makes it that much more miserable learning bc they bully even harder bc they smell you're new with it.

That's why I'm always hesitant to pick up anything new in this game. You get bullied for it.

no its because if you're playing at 5AM then you're probably only going to play against other sweats

Doesn't matter if the MMR is the best system in the world, it's can't match you well if you play at hours where there's very few players at your current MMR level for the Killer.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2672424#Comment_2672424

TBH at 5AM what kind of players do you expect to be coming across?

It's always a risk to start your day with video games, especially one that can get as toxic as DBD. That is just asking for a bad day.

You could try and practice during midday hours, don't really see as many SWFs then.

Although tbh, playing against Solos and SWF is night and day, you might as well practice against good teams early to get an idea of how good the Killer actually is. But might be good to at least play a few games against Solos first to get the mechanics of the power down (and then later you can unlearn everything you learnt against potatos, as you realise 80% of it will be countered by good survivors)

You play a new killer and get bullied all match then. I'd rather learn her and not get multiple coordinated break out stunned, chain blinded with insta blind flashlights, and teabagged all match trying. Just play the game, and leave. The taunting and riding out the end game timer to the very last second to teabag isn't necessary.

Is that okay? Just checking with you chief.

it's not winning. Or losing. It's being tortured for trying a new killer. God forbid I pick up a new killer....

This... this is why all killers sweat, tunnel, camp, and run gross perks.

We're scared to death not to bc we get spit on by swf groups and ridiculed in the chat.

Actually if you only shoot one crow, say to swarm, the cooldown before you get all 3 back is actually much faster than they can repel, so the more crows you use, the more cooldown they have. This rewards you for being accurate with one crow, then following with a very easy injure since you have 3 crows to use.

Didn't know that. So instead of shooting all three when you know where someone is, shoot one and if you get lucky and you try for the combo to down them

  • I don't think they have to be swarmed to get injured by a second bird. I just think you need to be in a shorter range when shooting it to injure them.

Idk. Can someone break down her abilities quick? I hit a Meg running to a window and she had no birds on her. It downed her.

  • I'm having a hard time actually tracking with the crows. I shoot 3 at a time over and over in multiple directions and don't get any pings. Idk. I like the idle crows at loops but I haven't gotten the tracking down.

Just seems hard to actually ping anyone across the map. Could be just me but it seems difficult.

  • I've played 4 games as her. Did pretty well. You guys don't know how to play against her yet.

However, tonight I feel like zooming around as Billy. So I'm not committed to her 100%

But she's fun!! Alot to learn. But I definitely enjoy her.

This. As a matter of fact, it's the ink coming out the ground. It makes a healing noise. I was fooled a couple times thinking it was a survivor healing behind a rock, and it was the ink.

  • Had my first match as her. Gotta say.... I dig it. She's cool. A little slow ish... but once I got the feel for her It was fun.

I really like the idea of pre placing birds at loops. Twice I was able to pull off hurting them with the birds by pre placing at a loop. Especially at shack wow.

The other was at a window. I saw the survivor making a B-line to it. I quickly dispatched the bird knowing I wasn't going to catch up and BAM got her.

Alot to learn. Was sloppy. Missed alot. However, tracking is nice. And scorge hook works!

Pimento.... it did work... but only bc this particular set of survivors actually did bones instead of boons.

I feel like until she becomes old news, most survivors won't do bones expecting to go against her. Run NOED, until the newness wears off and deploy Pimento.

I like her. It's going to take some time to perfect it.... but her perks are actually useful, power as well.

I hope the devs leave her alone. I feel like I can main her in this state.

  • I feel like the thing to do here is break the walls in the main building right away. There are windows on each wall that are really strong unless you break the two walls.

Other than that I see no counter to them just running early bc they see you. My plague did well against a 4man bc they didn't heal, that gave me 1 less speed boost to deal with on each survivor.

Doctor does bad here. He just can't catch up.

Billy does okay. You just have to make sure you break those walls.

Haven't tried trapper yet. But I imagine that he is going to be rough with how bright, and lack of grassy the ground is

    I personally love it!

I like it too. At least it's not a maze like RPD, but I feel kinda meh with M1 killers.

I'm trying to see if there is a work around with being seen using M1 killers.

  • All the time. It's by chance, but many dbd streamers that have this happen will usually show both perspectives of the match and 90% of the time is pretty gross.

People love drama tho, so streamers that show salt get more views. And most of the time the salt is coming from survivor streamers.

    Check out "spooknjukes"

His whole gimmick is exposing how gross ttv streamers are towards each other. It's entertaining as hell.

  • The issue here is distance gains after a hit. It's already good enough. Survivors get so much distance after a hit. If it's a hit at a shack or a building with good window RNG then the distance gives at least another 25 seconds of chase at loops.

I'm just trying to understand why the devs felt the need to give twice as much distance now and make it a perk?

For every boost Survivors get, it's one more notch off the belt for any and almost all M1 killers. That's the issue.

It sucks when perks come out, and half the killers are smashes into the dirt even harder. We want to play all killers. Not a select few to be able to keep up with these new builds.

Either make decisive strike basekit or something because the amount of killers that just turbo-tunnel and follow you for 12 seconds after an unhook for a free kill is getting on my nerve. Just played a game where the same teammate farmed me twice and I went from a 1 and a half minute chase for the first hook only to have the killer get the second and third hook stage after 30 seconds. WE NEED BUILT IN ANTI-TUNNEL.

No we definitely don't. If anything tunnel is 100% necessary to lock in a kill or 2. If you are just the unlucky one for the match that gets it well.... try again next game bc I totally get why killers tunnel when 3 gens pop in the first 2 1/2 minutes of the match and you have like 2 hooks maybe 3. Lmao.

Gens are broken. Play killer more. Get an idea of how the typical killer match goes and you'll be a little more patient about getting tunneled.

It's not fun, we know, but blame the devs not the killers for trying to pressure the survivors down to 3 as early as possible to get somewhat of a actual chance at keeping up.

  • I mean, I love playing with newbs. I troll. Get points, drag out the game some, let last one go, and end up with almost perfect score. What's the issue?

  • Noed is fine. Expect it when you bring boons. Just keep an eye on where totems are. Last gen pops play it smart. Crush bones, or bail .

  • Hook, then stand there. Camp. Swf groups hate that. But do that if gens fly fast, your low on hooks, and your down to 1 or 2 gens very quickly. They'll need the heal points to pip. Works like a charm not always but They'll depip if they ignore you camping.

I'd heard that crossplay off affects queue times, but that's pretty dramatic. I wouldn't have guessed there would be that big of a disparity. Waiting that long for a game on either end is longer than I'd want to do.

I'm on console but with crossplay on. Killer queues for me are virtually instantaneous anytime between around 5:30 PM CT NA region through around 2-3 AM. I've started keeping track of personal stats for my games as part of my own analysis, and queue times for survivor for me is averaging around 4-5 minutes in those same times. During the early morning and the day, survivors queues are usually quicker than killer, however. I've heard it's different on the EU servers, though.

This is true. Same here. Although killer late is mostly swf sweat matches. During the day, you may wait a little longer but I tend to have more fun as the survivors are newer or more relaxed and games last longer than 5 minutes. Kinda nice.

  • Hacker cult exchanging information for the following matches. Those are signs the end is neigh. Stap on your boots, and grab your backpack, this is the end. I'm sure of it.
