Maybe not underrated, but there is no better feeling than getting STBFL to 8 stacks and keeping it there. It feels so good. I ######### love that perk. I've noticed Bloodhound is actually very good at tracking injured survivors. I've been using it paired with sloppy on my Hit n Run Wraith (mainly because I have nothing else on him yet) and I've never lost a survivor.
I've actually gained something of a love for Blood Pact. It's a fun perk to use, and if you have no healing perk it's pretty nice to be able to just find someone to heal you.
I’m with you on the STBFL worship, it’s my forum profile pic for a reason. :B One of my absolute favourite perks and I run it on tons of killers.

Enduring on pig is a must for me, it's like shadowborne on nurse, I must have them on.
I love I'm all ears on pig and huntress which I think is a really underrated perk.
Yeah I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to playing without it now. The default stun feels soooo long and the survivors can make a ton of distance.
I haven’t tried I’m All Ears! I actually don’t think I’ve tried it on anybody except Ghost Face when I was going for the adept. I’ll have to give it a go. :)

I'll list a few of my personal favourites:
Agitation
This perk saves you so much time you didn't even know you were wasting. Hooking someone is a really time-consuming action and this perk makes it so much faster. Plus you can get some hits on survivors who get too cocky and think they can outrun you.
Fire Up
This perk kinda sucks, but what redeems it is that it can stack with other perks. Want to obliterate pallets? Run it with Brutal Strength. Want to vault faster than you've ever vaulted before? Run it with Bamboozle (bonus points if you're Myers). Plus the extra pick up speed is so nice, I feel like I'm picking survivors up in slow motion at the beginning of the game.
Hex: The Third Seal
This perk has the reputation of being one of the worst Hex perks in the game. However, that doesn't mean that it still can't do some major damage. Once you get everyone blind, you can slug like mad, and the general sense of confusion people have is quite funny (I once had someone kill themselves on hook when someone was just coming for a rescue). However, this perk kinda sucks against SWF and gets it's tokens stripped when respawned by Undying. Not a great perk, but it's a fun one.
Blood Warden
It's very unreliable, but if you can get it to activate it can turn a losing match into a 4k. The definition of an Ace up the sleeve. One of my favourite perks in the game.
Slippery Meat
Are you a gambling man? Are you the first person to be hooked every time you run Deliverance? Do you fancy challenging death to a game of dice? Run Slippery Meat. You're gambling a hook stage with a 60% chance of losing, but boy is it fun when you yeet yourself off the hook. Absolutely terrible perk, loads of fun to run (but only when it works).
Windows of Opportunity
An amazing perk to run if you're solo. Having the knowledge of what resources have been used up by your team is a must have for me personally.
Mettle of Man
Groovy.
I could go on for ages, there are so many underappreciated perks out there that are overshadowed by the meta.
I love Agitation too!
With The Third Seal, I think it only works on some maps. Being blind isn’t that big of a deal on an Autohaven map, but throw on a Lery’s offering and it can really do some damage. Nobody has lines of sight and there aren’t landmarks for SWF to use to coordinate. If someone goes down in a random room they’ll struggle to explain where they are. Plus the totem is usually really well hidden.
I really enjoy using Pig’s trap blindness add on (people keep telling me they suck but I keep having success with them so whatever), and it’s the same thing - if it’s a Midwich, Hawkins or Lery’s then the survivors often go into struggle or run around like headless chickens looking for each other. Mean, but fun.
-
Also, not the point of the post but I didn’t want to make a separate thread:
HOLY #########. Blight is SO MUCH FUN. Why have I never tried playing him before?! My first match with him ever and it was the most fun I’ve had with a new killer in a long time. :D
I guess the lesson here is to step out of my comfort zone more often and try new stuff.
-
I’ve stopped playing survivor for the night, the queues are long so it’s throwing me in with actual yellow ranks. And when I do get a red rank teammate they go down to a Pig in 10 seconds and then rage quit, or struggle til the very last second of their hook state so I can’t get the hatch while the killer chases me.
Killers have been better teammates to me than other survivors today.
-
Because new content is being released all the time and you’d return after a break of several months with no idea about any of it. Plus you get rusty after a long break.
It’s not about “punishing” anyone, it’s about easing people back into the game. It’s not like it’s hard to rank up, just play and you’ll go back to red ranks in no time.
-
Don’t try and force it. Ranking up as survivor is really easy so if you’re struggling to rank up, it means you’re at the right rank for now.
Instead, focus on what aspects of your gameplay you can improve and your rank will naturally improve with time.

Ok, match started, autohaven was the map, I started with a Clad the ttv(not saying their name because no name shaming) she was afk for a few seconds until the killer got to us.
I moved a lot so the killer will chase me (I love being chased), I looped legion for maybe 2 min until I got mindgamed and got down, 1 gen popped.
The other ttv player unhooked me and did the "come" gesture, she gave me a toolbox and then I did a gen, legion from what it looked didn't wanted to chase me, I did another gen one that prevented our 3 gen which was a middle gen.
I got chased again on killer shack, then legion left me and downed the clad.
I unhooked and did another gen then our 4th teammate died.
They finished the last gen, the other ttv died then the clad ttv got downed since they were both injured and just pushed the gen, I 99% the door and unhooked clad ttv then I died because legion played fair and didn't tunneled( I also had bt).
Endgame chat I was told that 99% doors is what idiots do to put simply.
Edit: I didn't answered because I was asleep
In that situation it was probably a better idea to open the gate first, but really, who cares? You went back and saved them, they should have said thanks or gg and left it at that.
-
There absolutely should be a killer ping indicator, I can’t think of a single good argument against it personally. As survivor I’d like to know if I’m gonna have to deal with getting hit from across the map, and as killer I’d like my good ping to be broadcast to the world so people can stop blaming me for DBD’s laggy servers and deceptive hit boxes.
-
I don’t dislike them, I think they’re fine and it’s nice that new players can customise a bit. Every frosty eyes killer is bad and will camp you though, that seems to be the rule.
-
People who teabag at the exit gates a lot are usually people who don’t escape that often because they’re bad. They get so pumped up from their rare victory that they can’t help but twerk like crazy on their way out.
That’s just my theory anyway, based on seeing which teammates tend to teabag for no reason and how they played.

I haven't seen a Nurse on Console in 2 months. You pretty much only see PC Nurse.
Well, yeah, because she’s really hard to play on console. But PC Nurses are not uncommon.

That she is actually weak?
Again, Nurse is a killer that is played often. She’s played more than many other killers, including both Spirit and Freddy. Your opinion on her state of balance has nothing to do with that objective fact.
-
They could easily make small changes to help the grind. Make each bloodweb smaller. Add 2 more perks at level 50 so you can purchase 3 each bloodweb. Delete some of the more obviously useless things like the hook distance offerings, shrouds and the brown bloodpoint offerings. Raise the bloodpoint cap from 32k to 40k.
They say “oh yeah we’ll look at it at some point” but this problem gets worse every 3 months and they keep adding more stuff to clutter the bloodwebs. Like who tf wanted the hatch offerings, basement offerings or that stupid wedding ring add on?

I only saw 2 Nurses in about two weeks, which isn't that high, I saw more Plague than Nurse...
I see at least one Nurse a day usually, and way more at weekends. It probably depends on your region but Nurse is not under-picked overall.

A high kill rate on a killer who barely gets picked, will usually look higher than it actually is. The more people play a killer, the more accurate the kill rate is.
You’re not wrong, but I’m not sure what that has to do with Nurses not being uncommon.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1824507#Comment_1824507
Then her low kill rate should be actually accurate (unlike the pigs one) and she deservers a buff.
Kill rates and pick rates are totally different beasts. Saying “nobody plays Nurse” is easily disproved by pick rate stats because they’re a straightforward yes/no statistic that isn’t influenced by playstyle, add ons, perks, matchmaking and so on. You either play Nurse or you don’t. They might be influenced by Tome challenges but since Nurse has yet to be in the Tomes, I highly doubt her pick rate is inflated by that. Kill rates on the other hand are way more complex - you can’t say with 100% certainty why Pig has a higher kill rate than Spirit, it’s influenced by many things.
Unless you can think of a reason why pick rates would be inflated by some external force to show more people playing Nurse than there are in reality, they’re a reliable source of information.
-
@AhoyWolf said:
Well, since nobody plays Nurse I really can't test that sadly...
Nurse has a pick rate of over 5% at all ranks and over 6% at red ranks, which considering there are over 20 killers to choose from is not bad at all. She’s played more than many other killers. She’s played more than Freddy and more than Spirit.
-
New moris are cool. I can actually use them now and not have people disconnect in the loading screen or ######### talk me post-game. I managed to mori three survivors under the same pallet in a game yesterday, it was hilarious and since one of them had Power Struggle and Flip Flop it saved me from having to eat that.

It's true but consider that if you get unlucky and they break undying and ruin at the start it's gonna be way harder to win if you don't have any other slowdown, if you have pop and they break ruin at the start you can still do good because you have pop
That would be unlucky. It happens but it’s not that common for both perks to go early in the match, in my experience.
What if they stack two people to every gen and you barely get to use Pop? No perks are guaranteed to work every single match, it’s just about probability. Is this perk likely to help me? Undying makes Ruin much more likely to survive long enough to give you a lot of value, that’s why it’s so good.
-
Ruin doesn’t need to last the entire match, it only needs to last long enough for you to get hooks, clear pallets from the map and build pressure. If Ruin is broken by the point you have one person on death hook, a couple of Unbreakables/DSes used and several areas of the map have no pallets, it’s done exactly what it was supposed to do.
Undying does that - it buys Ruin time to help you build the pressure you need to win the game. Who cares if Ruin gets cleansed when one person is dead at 4 gens left? You still got insane value from the perk.
-
Set a goal outside of kills. Tome challenges, dailies, or achievements can work, or doing something specific with a killer. Just something so that if you don’t kill anyone, you can say to yourself, “at least I got two basement hooks towards my challenge.”
Losing isn’t a big deal, everyone loses. People with 5000 hours lose. Big streamers that people call “the best X killer” lose. People who flex on the forums lose. The key is to stay conscious of that and focus on something else - a separate goal, or just trying to improve at a certain thing over time.
-
Dragon’s Grip is a bad perk and I would recommend avoiding it. That said, it seems like it would have good synergy with Trail of Torment so it could be worth trying at least. I haven’t tried that pairing, just Dragon’s Grip on its own (which sealed my opinion of DG as worthless).
Oppression and Surge is another fun combo, but you don’t actually kick the gen so it wouldn’t go well with your other two perks.
-
It’s a server/latency issue.
I had a match earlier this evening where I got a grab on someone who was unhooking, except the animation had clearly already finished on the survivor’s screen because the survivor who was on the hook dropped to the ground and ran off after I hoisted their mate onto my shoulder. Weirdest thing I’ve seen in a while.
Grabs are weird and inconsistent and often look strange on dedicated servers, is the long and short of it.

Here's the thing :
1. You got a period of time where one wrong move can result in a loss. Isn't that an adrenaline inducing moment? (Both in-game and real life)
2. Even if you win, why are you complaining? You won! Do you want your boldness points or something?
3. If you win, you basically proved that AFK isn't viable and there's a chance you convinced a person to quit that playstyle you hate so much
I play DBD to actually play DBD. An AFK killer isn’t playing the game, that’s why it’s reportable.
-
If Spirit misses a swing coming out of her power, she has a missed attack cooldown and has to wait for her power to recharge. Adding in a fatigue stun on top of that wouldn’t change much except make her feel way worse to play.
I’m not someone who thinks that Spirit is balanced in her current form but I don’t think this is the way to fix it.

There's a guy in YouTube who makes DbD vids. He has 3 videos on semi AFK killers beating survivors. One thing I noticed is that the survivors were committing really terrible mistakes. They were
1. Herding around a seemingly AFK Oni without knowing whether or not he has his power
2. Opening the basement chest
3. Taunting a motionless Myers even though he makes a noise notification when he tiers up
4. And not exiting quick enough
As expected, the survivors were all very salty but it was obvious that it was mostly their mistake.
The guy is "DBD things" by the way
Because an AFK killer is boring as #########. “Winning” against an AFK killer by doing all gens in 3 minutes and immediately leaving is the least satisfying “win” you could ever have.

If you use the addon that lets everyone see what the map user sees. Then everyone will see totem locations. I've run that addon before, and most of the time the other survivors are on the totems when I get there.
That is while I'm solo.
How often do you think survivors can run that add on, given that it’s a purple and survivor bloodwebs have dozens of items and dozens of add ons?
-
Running an AFK Wraith build isn’t “not playing meta”. Nobody cares if you run an off-meta build, but doing something cheesy like AFKing all match so you can mori the Obsession at the end is about as much fun as a survivor hiding all match so they can key out once their teammates are dead.
Being vitriolic to someone is not okay but don’t make out like all survivors are screaming at killers for not running meta perks, when that clearly wasn’t their issue.
-
I haven’t played a ton of killer lately due to having less free time, but I played Pig and Legion last night and got 4ks with both. I had Corrupt on Pig and Ruin on Legion but otherwise not meta killers or builds. It’s definitely not impossible to win most matches, some are tough but not the majority.
If you’re having a tough time, it can be worth it to record your gameplay and upload some videos of matches where you struggled. People will give really good advice on things you may be doing wrong or where you can improve.
-
He’s slow so don’t let him zone you. Use windows and pallets to loop if safe, and make distance where you can. Play safe. Do objectives in more open areas where you can see him coming.
And do everything in your power not to go down because if you do you’re getting camped to death. I hate this add on too for this and many other reasons.

This is a random question, I don't have demo, so is rat liver actually good? I always see demos running it lol
When charging Shred at base, your movement speed drops to 92%. With rat liver it only drops to 102%. So running it means being able to use your power to zone, or using it at loops without losing distance. It’s definitely a strong and noticeable difference, and since Demo has barely any other add ons worth running you might as well use it every game. That’s why you see it so often. :)

I also don’t have enough perk slots to run a totem hunting perk and Spine Chill and an info perk and DS to prevent myself being tunnelled
"I don't want to sacrifice my crutch perk to run a counter to something I'm complaining about"
Yep, it's me who can't read.
Also - DS has no counter. The counter is not there.
Are you really bending yourself this out of shape because I mentioned DS? Lol. Swap it for Iron Will as an anti-tunnel perk if that will allow you to see my point without lasering in on one irrelevant perk.
And here’s the counter for DS: chase someone else. Simple, easy, doesn’t even require a perk slot.
-
Yeah this has happened to me a few times too. It’s really random as well, I had a Nea come up to a gen I was working on and do the recoil animation while my character happily kept working.

Detectives Hunch. Small Game. Maps/Addons. Distortion. Off the Record.
There, counters, for every aspect of ruin/undying.
But hey - you literally said "I don't want to run this cause I need my DS crutch". That's a you problem. Not a Ruin/Undying problem.
Either use the counters, or don't - but when counters exist, you don't get to complain. I've been playing DBD since 2016, nearly 5k hours in the game. Do you know how much I get tunneled? I honestly don't remember the last time I was truly tunneled.
Are you incapable of reading? There are not enough perk and item slots for a solo survivor to “counter” everything that people say “just run X perk as a counter” for.
you literally said "I don't want to run this cause I need my DS crutch".
Yeah you really can’t read. “I run DS so I don’t get tunnelled out of the game or farmed by dumb teammates” sure is the same thing.
when counters exist, you don't get to complain.
I’ll tell that to every killer that complains about BT, DS, flashlights, keys, bodyblocking and so on, shall I? Just run Franklin’s, Insidious, Lightborn and Mad Grit every game or you don’t get to complain about any survivor perks. The counters are there!
-
The problem with Ruin/Undying is solo. I don’t know if my team are doing totems or gens. I don’t know how many totems are left. I don’t know if they’re splitting up on three different gens or stacking to get one finished quickly. I don’t know if they’re being chased or if they were being chased but have been left. I also don’t have enough perk slots to run a totem hunting perk and Spine Chill and an info perk and DS to prevent myself being tunnelled or farmed and an exhaustion perk and a means of healing myself and all the counters to all the other things I’m supposed to “just adapt” to.
-

Oh no, I'm having flashbacks to the first tome when "sacrifice 4 Survivors in the basement in one trial" was a challenge. The first person caught basically couldn't play the game haha.
The worst part about that challenge was the number of survivor who would disconnect to deny killers the challenge, meaning they had to attempt it multiple times. Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face.

Hey there guys. I made a couple threads in the past addressing how I couldn't rank up past 10, and many of you recommended me to play Nightmare and gave me advice, as I couldn't really grasp what made him strong: thanks to you, last season I made it into red ranks for the first time ever!
That said, playing only one killer makes stuff tedious, and I love to play as a killer for fun. I went back to my old mains (Legion and Hag), which carried me all the way to 10, and oh boy, I immediately started de-pipping and went all the way back to 8, then at season reset I was placed in 10, and here we go again. I feel like that episode of Spongebob where he learns how to drive blindfolded, but then can't do it normally.
My current issues are...
-My chases are usually quite long. By the time I manage to take down my first Survivor, usually one generator is repaired and the second one is more than halfway done.
-I have problems identifying priorities. If during a chase I run into survivors doing gens, I usually go to the gen, kick it, then start chasing the other survivors. Usually this results in the survivor I was previously chasing healing and helping with the gen I kicked by the time I manage to land my first hit in the new chase.
-On the above issue, I usually interrupt chases when I figure out someone is repairing a gen. By the time I get there, Gen is repaired, I lost a chase, and the survivor gets healed.
-I don't really know when it's a good idea to slug and when to hook...
-Killers with harder to use mechanics, like Nurse, Twins or Spirit, often result in me being teabagged to no end, having lockers slammed in my face, and in general, being made fun of while finishing the match with less than 3,000 points...
The above issues are stuff I usually don't have when playing Nightmare. I use PGTG, Thrilling Tremors, Discordance and Franklin's Demise on him.
I have most meta perks unlocked, and the only killers I don't own are Ghostface, Demo, Myers and Blight. I watch streamers like Otz often but I don't feel it helps much for my learning style. Also, my objective right now isn't to rank up as before, but to just learn to do good with something more than just Freddy.
Any advice? :(
Just out of curiosity, when did you start playing? And which platform are you on?
-
Put down the highlighter, Feng.
-
I don’t necessarily see a huge problem with the idea. He can’t attack when cloaked and if he couldn’t walk through stuff uncloaked then it wouldn’t be something that would nullify pallets and windows, it would just help his mobility. I don’t see the devs programming/implementing this though; it would probably be quite complicated and if Nurse is anything to go by it would definitely be buggy. Plus it would just look weird to walk through, say, the piles of logs on Macmillan maps.

Thats cool and all but just because you think I have bad wifi does not mean I do nor am I gonna use a cable or whatever when I get good ping. Also its dbd servers preventing me from going to my usual 9-16 I get on other games.
The issue with wifi isn’t ping, it’s stability. Google “Ethernet cable gaming” and you can read up on it.
Do what you want but all those killers you’re complaining about VPNing are probably just using wifi too.
-
@azame said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1818484#Comment_1818484
Do you need me to send you clips upon clips of me getting bad hits? To verify my ping just look at the top left. White circle means 150 ping and red means 300 plus. None of my clips have it. Sounds like you cheese off of pokos right? lol
I actually use a LAN cable and have fibre internet so no, my ping is consistently around 30. I still get survivors on ######### internet accusing me of having bad ping though because they’re too ignorant to understand that their laggy wifi connection does in fact affect their gameplay.
-
If it didn’t have a cooldown you’d have goofy situations where the killer keeps kicking a gen and spamming survivors on other gens with skill checks. Maybe not OP or anything but like I said, goofy.
That said, I definitely think its cooldown needs reducing, it’s pretty hefty and the perk isn’t that good.
-

Yes but I do not pokos I get good ping.
You play on wifi and then accuse all killer players of VPNing? Bro, get a LAN cable and stop shifting the blame for your crappy wifi making you take hits you don’t have to.
-
Remember when people were saying, “this is just the first week, the rewards will get better”? 😁
-
Oppression. The cooldown is REALLY long.
Surge. I’ve changed my mind and don’t think it should have no cooldown anymore since it now synergises with Ruin for some dumb reason, but it should be 30 seconds and not 40.
Dragon’s Grip. Reduce the cooldown and increase the time it’s active IMO. I tried using it and between these two limitations it’s pretty lacklustre.
Windows of Opportunity and Zanshin Tactics. Why do these have cooldowns again?
Saboteur. It should be 30 seconds, not 60. 60 is just too long for the perk to be even vaguely useful.
-
They can’t fix this problem by releasing a hotfix, it’s an issue with player base numbers. In the evenings survivor queues are consistently long and killer queues are instant.
People need more incentive to play killer. The incentive to play survivor is already there: you can play with friends. Killers can get more bloodpoints but that’s clearly not enough at the moment. They either need to address some of the killer frustrations that put them off playing, or use bribery.
-
She’s the least played killer as confirmed by the dev stats released in October. She had a 2% pick rate. I doubt they want to focus on making cosmetics for a killer that is rarely played, unfortunately.
-
I’ve never run it and I think I’ve played against killers running it twice? I only remember because I got hit, saw the pallet get blocked, thought, “wow, Blood Favour, that’s useless” and ran away to another tile.
I would not recommend it to anyone and I think it would be fine if it got buffed.
-
I’ll never understand survivors who complain about tactical slugging. Leaving someone to bleed out just for the sake of it, yeah, that’s unnecessary. Builds designed to slug everyone all the time can be awful. Even slugging for the 4K is tedious. But half the time when I get complaints that I slugged it’s because the survivors made slugging a no-brainer choice for me.
If I down someone and then hear an injured survivor crying in a bush nearby, am I supposed to ignore it? Or if I’m playing Hag and someone triggers a trap, should I just not use my power? If someone steps in my Trapper trap, or if one of my perks lights up to let me know that a gen nearby is about to pop, I would be putting myself at a disadvantage for no good reason if I didn’t slug at that point. I don’t expect the survivors to ignore a potential advantage if they want to win so why would I hamstring myself?
It’s easy most of the time to not let the killer slug. Heal up, separate, run the killer away from your team if chased. Mass slugging usually only happens when my teammates play extremely dumb, in my experience.
But I’ll probably continue to get those “-rep slugging” messages until the day the game dies.
