They put Ashley from evil dead into the game, but he looks like Sam axe from burn notice. I'm pretty disappointed in that. They gave him a gut and grey sideburns. In the evil dead he is skinny and has all black hair and his face is much thinner and has a more defined jaw line, by the time we got to army of darkness ash was mad cut. This character needs to be remodeled in my opinion. I get why he can't have a chainsaw and I get why he has a mechanical hand cuz he's got to repair crap but come on, give me ash not Sam

Oh, survivors like getting tunneled now? I thought that was toxic

I dont know about everyone else, but i always prefered getting chased. At least then i know for sure that pallets are not getting wasted.. and usually i had a great time during chase, way better then sitting on a gen at least :)

As long as you can handle it. Don't be too suprised if you die on your first hook thou.

The few times i used a key, i can remember getting tunneled, which was actually a good thing since the killer was wasting his time on me.

Most experienced players are not so much into surviving but rather want to have good chases. But anyway thanks for the note :)

But the goal is the survive against the killer.... So it's normal to piss off the killer , he does too

It is true that the goal for survivors is to survive, but a toxic survivor tries his best to be annoying / toxic. For example teabaging all the time, clicking with his flashlight constantly, taunting etc. Just doing things that is very unpleasent for the killer.

The same can be said about a the killer who is hitting a hooked survivor multible times or gives headshakes constantly. Just stuff that is not normal gameplay and only there to ruin other players experience.

By the way: Toxic behavior can also occurre after the game (toxic chat massages).

  • To all of you killers who tunnel the survivor who bring keys to their matches. Did you know that survivors tend to really like getting chased by the killer?

  • Can mean a few things. Usually it is a survivor who tries to piss off other players, mainly the killer.

  • @Babyyy_Boyy said:

Damn I made the switch from DBD on xbox to PC recently and the killers on here play like scum. I thought the community on here would be less toxic than xbox but it's probably worse. All of my matches today have been tunneling killers. Keep in mind that I had almost 3K hours on xbox and I've been using my controller on PC, So I know what I'm doing (not trying to sound cocky),and as of right now I'm in the purple ranks and the killers tend to 1 hook mori or chase me the whole game and no other survivor. if I pass by a survivor working on a gen they don't even bother to interrupt the gen and just continue to chase. what's up with that? As a former killer main, how can you not interrupt a gen that's almost done and how is it fun chasing 1 person the whole game? And then when the gens done I get smacked with NOED and the killer(s) shake their head as if they did something lmao. I mean I guess it doesn't matter what platform you play on because the toxicity within the game itself will never go away but damn I can't stand people that play like this.

I dont think the big difference is toxicness, but rather the tryhard / skilllevel. I was not playing a lot on console, but the time i did, it felt like easy mode. A rank 1 killer on console can be compared with a rank 10 killer on PC. Same goes for survivors.

PC players are so much more tryhards and much more dedicated then console players and i think it can feel like they beeing toxic. They only want to win here, which was fine for me.

A college of mine was playing also almost 3K hours on console, switched to pc. Quote: "I was playing a tutorial for over 2 years". Every time he goes back to console, its like vacation for him.

    Hello!

I just wanted to know what you call the killers?

Do you call them by their killer name in the game or by their character name/real name/lore name or do you use nicknames? If you use nick names can you tell me?

Just wondering. Then i call them by a mix sometimes real name/lore name, sometimes in game names and sometimes nicknames.

    Wraith = Bing Bong

    Hillbilly = Billy

    Deathslinger = Cowboy

    Thats it.

  • Its the worst killer if you play her for the first time.

Its the best killer if you have hundreds of hours on her.

Personally, i feel this silent hill chapter is a dumpster fire. The map is annoying to navigate, the killer is a bit underwhelming, the perks are iffy. The only saving grace i feel is the survivor but even that is kind of shot down by not being able to mix outfits for her as outfits must be bought and worn as a whole set. Same goes for the new killer.

Killer feels a bit weak currently and the matchmaking is also very much awful right now. Basically no matter what rank you are expect either a purple or red rank survivor in your lobby.

Very sad news for me (" Silent Hill dumpster fire"), thanks for your opinion.

And outfits must be worn as a whole set? I guess it is because of the license. :( Still sucks tho.

    @JimPickens said:

Survivors have always had the advantage, SWF more than doubles that advantage. I only say this because if you didn't enjoy it back then you're not going to enjoy it now. I actually think this problem runs deeper than toxicity, because you won most of your games right? But you probably felt cheated by the times you lost because you're so good how could you lose?

The game is built in the perfect way to generate salt from everyone by balancing heavily in favor or survivors but not making them feel strong. So when you win as survivor you think you're a god and when die its some ALWAYS some BS.

Tonight i messaged this feng who ran me around for like 2 minutes "GGWP" But because she died she felt cheated and went off and was kind of confused i wasn't calling her trash. This games problem with the community are deeply rooted lol

I heavily disagree with "survivors always had the advantage" .. it used to be true like 2 years ago, but the last couple of months before i stopped.. well as you said, i barly lost a single game as a killer on the highest rank. With barly i mean i lost maybe 1 out of 10 games... And when i lost, i deserved it most of the time (playing a weak killer and usually playing not very well).

The game became just more and more boring for me, i might be one of the very few in this community who admits that playing killer is not that hard, but unfortunatly, i also think it is not that deep of gameplay, at least not as deep as i want it to be.

Hm you might be right with a lot what you say tho. Thanks for advise.

    @Quol said:

Design of the map is creepy and great but you will spend the first 5 matches completely lost, whether you are a killer or survivor.

Killer is cool, his chase music is nice and he has cool gimmicks. Only problem is his ranged attack is clunky and hard to use, which the devs did on purpose and he is around B rank.

Survivor is a survivor. It's just a reskin so if you like Cheryl great if not then move on.

They are working on killers. They did a rework on doc giving him a massive buff and this update gave Clown a slight buff.

I can deal with beeing lost for a couple of games IF i get the payoff. So far it sounds a bit underwhelming unfortunatly.

What do you mean they buffed Doctor? Even more? Get received a vuff like a few months ago (rework his power, addons etc), did they buff him again? If so, big LOL from me, he was already a strong killer after the rework, absolutly no need to expand on that.

    Thanks for your input.

As for now i wont buy the DLC, lets see what the future brings.

    Thanks for all the input!

    Kind regards

Jason and Pennywise are both stated to be welcomed by the devs. And both are valid options to wish for especially on the anniversary! Don’t get me wrong, I am happy we got Silent Hill, but imagine we would have gotten Jason. You would be the one complaining then...

Yea i get that but can we just for once appreciate what the devs are about to deliver? Thats a big thing for the game, way bigger then Jason or Pennywise ever could be. We just entered a completly different gaming universe as a whole chapter.

Well, as I said somewhere, you are having "Hype time", but for me it's unknown killer, not a iconic killer. Just another DLC - nothing to care about more than 1 day. So yeah, I have right to be disappointed so I'm disappointed.

I expected a lot of others killers, but this one I didn't and not in a good way. At first I was just like "Okay, somethings coming, w8 what? What's that?"

So at the end of the day I am pretty HYPED UP but unluckily way more by the Trailer than by actual game content.

You have the "right" to do so, and i have the "right" to tell you to calm down and appreciate what is coming next. No point in that "i have the right" thing...

Have you seen the 2009 Friday movie? Compare this Jason with the Trapper. He is clearly and distinctive ment to be Jason. They never thought they will get the license so they installed the trapper 100%.

  • So as you can see in the photo above there, the killer lost 3 survivors and only managed to kill one.

You think you are entiteled to get at least 2K every round? Then you are wrong. Very wrong actually.

Now I have a pretty decent killer here with the right add-ons, a pretty high level killer (just 40) and damn good perks.

Okay, you might be a troll or this could be a bait post, but if you are not, hear me out quick.

Spirit is in fact a strong killer, but she needs practice. We can see by the screenshot that you dont have any practice with her at all, especially because you think level 39 is a "high level killer". Level 39 can be achieved in less then a day of play, and with that i mean a session of 7-8 hours. Said that, this is nothing. You are probably a straight noob with this certain killer. Odd that you think level 39 is something. Even i when i was a noob was aware that having a killer not even maxed out is beginner status.

And good perks? You build is a meme build... at best.

Yet I still manage to let 3 survivors escape. Bit weird no? This game ended very quickly, in less that 10 mins or so 3 of the survivors had already escaped. I can't help but notice how unfair the game is for killers now.

The only weird thing is that you think you should get kills when you are totally new to the game. Player level 83, Spirit level not even 50 lol... what are you expecting. I ensure you, this is just the beginning of your DbD journey and you have a LOT to learn. There are people around with devotion 20+ (playerlevel 2000+) and even those guys dont know everything about the game or play godlike.

The only things you should post at the moment are questions on how to get better with the Spirit or any other killer you want to learn. Balance discussions when completly new to the game is pointless.

  • The true question is: SHOULD it be Pyramid head?

And there is only one correct answer: HELLL YEEAA!

  • I guess its an Xbox problem that there is almost never a GG. Nobody bothers there to start a conversation unless it has some salty purpose. On Pc it is much more easy - post game chat.

    By the way

Can somebody explain me what ggs means?

GG = Good game, everyone knows that, but what is ggs? Good gameS, plural? Makes no sense saying that after one game.. so what is its meaning? ty

    Long Post...

Inb4 I didn't make this to brag about how good I am or to say that killer is easy. It's not. I consider myself pretty average and I've been maining the bing bong boi since I started playing DBD. Whenever I look at tier lists the Wraith is always at the bottom and I'm really puzzled as to why that is.

Now that I have so much time staying at home I thought I would try replicating Tru3's experiment to see if I can pull it off with my humble 850 hours in the game vs his 5000. I also made sure to change a few things to make it more interesting/challenging:

-I did not tunnel or camp, I tried to be as fair as I could without throwing the game.

-I did not slug for the 4k but I did during the game when it was beneficial.

-I puposely used different builds and addons. I don't see the point of playing just one build since that just proves one build is better than other builds.

-My goal was just to stay at rank one for as many games as possible. On the 11th game I got my ass handed to me by a team with 3 freaking flashlights. Some games I guess you just can't win...

    So these are my results:

There you have it guys. My take on this experiment is that the whole "I get a toxic swf group every game" argument is blown waaaay out of proportion in this forum. Yes matchmaking is a joke at the moment. Yes killer is hard and a few mistakes can cost you the game, but if a mediocre player like me can win consistently with the Wraith I can't imagine how it must be for other, "better" killers. Anyway sorry for the wall of text I just thought it would be interesting to open up a discussion as to why you think the Wraith is good or bad compared to other killers. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

You wonder why people complain here about that killer is so hard and almost every game is versus a SWF pro team?

The short answer: Dunning Kruger effect

"In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people with low ability at a task overestimate their ability."

Thats also the main reason why killers get constantly buffed all the time. Bad people who think they are good demand their right to get free wins.

    End of the story.

  • I know you can not change it duing game, but i just wanna mention that blindness addons on Freddy are amazing against OoO. Basicly a Wallhack.

  • Interesting video.

What do we see: You are hiding, walking around and doing more or less nothing.

What we dont see: The Dwight is actually using Bond.

I want to see the whole video. Not because it would change a lot but rather to see if i am right why Dwight gave away your location. If it is the way as it seems, i feel more for the Dwight then for you. Proof us wrong.

  • Alright then

Because you are not a rank 16 I can tell" I just answer " I come from console" people have told me in like 10 matches "you are a really great huntress" and damn it feels amazing not having "you tryhard piece of sh!t" "sweat more", I hope cross progression becomes a thing soon, I'm loving the pc dbd community so far

And I'm saying that it's usually killers who play nice, with constant demands from survivors to play nicer. Saying "both sides do it" is disingenuous because it completely ignores the actual number of people who do it.

If I point out that men are, on average, taller than women, and you point out that women can also be tall (and so "both men and women can be tall"), you're not addressing anything I said. You're using a technicality to dismiss my statement.

First of all, we are not talking about any facts. There are no numbers about which side is more friendly. This is a random guess.. nothing more. I agree with you on that part, but that does not mean it is true.

Second, my only problem with your statement was generalizing:

Ah, yes, I can definitely remember when survivors all huddled around the hook for me to kill them after I had a [BAD WORD] game where they completely dominated...

Oh, no, wait, that literally never happened, to anyone, ever.

Even the statement had nothing to do with the context of the op (we are not talking about giving the other side a free win, we are talking about giving the other side a chance) i doubt that this really never happend since there are teams who give free hooks and even kills to the killer.

All in all i think we can leave it to that.

  • I dont know if it got worse, but i sounds logical to me that you are right.

When you take away or at least reduce the resources for looping the killer, survivors will realise they have to find other ways to survivor. One very obvious way to do so would be genrushing.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1269789#Comment_1269789

I didn't bring in that statement, I'm pointing out the hypocrisy in demanding killers play nice when they actually do play nice more often than survivors, but survivors don't demand other survivors play nice.

Maybe you are right with that, i am not saying that survivors are little angles and killers are beasts. All i say is that there are those people on both sides who play friendly in situations when the other side is struggeling to get anything done. Thats why i think any arugment which is generalizing about the other side is wrong.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1269771#Comment_1269771

Experience says they're not. Let's not pretend you don't know as well as I do that killers are more likely to go easy on survivors than survivors are to go easy on killers.

Of course you are right with that, but there are those people who care about the other side aswell (even tho they are rare). Bringing in a statement like "i dont care for other people because they dont care for me" does not lead us anyway, isnt it?

Obviously the game is supposed to beplayed the way everyone is playing it (play ruthless) otherwise it would loose a lot of its charm. But it cant be a bad idea to go easy on the other side every once in a while when you see you are dominating them hardcore.. just for the sake of a more insteresting and fun gameing experience.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1269744#Comment_1269744

Alright then, let's go for a closer comparison. Why don't all survivors play worse when they're up against a newbie killer?

Who says they are not? A few weeks ago i played in a 3 man versus a legion on mothers dwelling, the legion was obviously not not that good (turned out he was rank 9 vs rank 1) so instead of finishing the last gen, we started doing all the other gens to 99 and the totems aswell. The only reason for that was to give him more time to get free hooks and we all get more bloodpoints.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1269711#Comment_1269711

I also explicitly said "kills", not "hooks", so, again, your example is not relevant.

Well then, your point of few does not make a lot of sense either. Because nobody goes in and gives the killer a free 4K and so is of course also no killer downing all 4 people, pick them up, let them do all gens and then let them leave (well actually i do with my AKA "FriendlyKiller" account)... Thats not the topic at all, its about why go for 4K slug even survivors have lost anyway.

People here are wondering why the killer is not giving them at least a chance to get something done. A nice play would be to hook someone of the slugged and give the last standing person the chance to pick up one of his teammates. Your response to that "Ah, yes, I can definitely remember when survivors all huddled around the hook for me to kill them after I had a ######### game where they completely dominated..." does not make a lot of sense in that way.

Giving an auto 4K =/= giving the other side at least a chance.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1269695#Comment_1269695

I said "all". As in "every survivor in a trial".

I know some survivors do it (me, for example, much to my teammate's chagrin), but I was quite explicit.

Also that happens, but only if i play in a full team. We dont give the killer 4 kills, but at least some hooks. Unfortunatly we stoped this at some point because we ran into killers that got greedy and very selfish (killing all of us eventually). At the endgame chat when asking him what this was all about you get an answer like "i am the killer, your fault you trust me"... no wonder nice survivors refuse to give potentially friendly killers anything anymore.

I think it goes both ways, selfish people just like those i discribed ruins the reputation of all other killer mains, and it spreads misstrust all over the game. Same goes for survivors of course.

Hey, easy huntress main. You haven't mentioned how DS can combo with unbreakable to create invincibility for an entire minute.

Who cares about that? We wont pick this person up anyway so let him waste his one time Unbreakable.

  • Almost all the time.

Hard to answer that question. I would say yes, because at least you have a chance to get decent teammates every now and then, which is normally not that case in purple or green.

  • Jason would be a big suprise. The last info i had is that there is a license war going on and only god knows how long it will take to come to a conclusion.

Pennywise might be the worst killer in DBD history when we talk about lore. There is no possible way to explain why IT should serve The Entity. IT is far more powerful, it is the eater of worlds and a god in a macroverse where our universe got vomited by a turtle... And as far as i know there has not been a "Robert Grey" in real life so also that possibility gets ruled out.

  • A killer thats a car wont make it very far.

  • I always do, but only if a teammate is nearby so he can rescue me and the killer also get some points aswell.

I would never do this on pupose without a teammate, since with my luck i usually need 20 escape attemps to get out of that damn thing.

The survivors objective is still too easy to accomplish, I play both sides and in my survivor games 8/10 at least two people escape . All survivors need to do is gens and waste the killers time by looping it’s so simple . This therefore makes killer stressful to play at times both sides should be enjoyable to play but unfortunately they are not atm . Now some people are gonna say your bad at killer , I played a game as huntress today and I was ending chases in less than 10-15 secs but as per the gems still flown by and one of them escaped . I honestly think the gen time should be increased by 10 seconds to make it 90 seconds per gen.

I am pretty sure it is an exaggeration and it is more but even if it is not.. what is the problem if in 8 out of 10 games 2 survivors escape and in the other 2 games the killer gets his 4K? Thats still a killrate of about 60%.

  • I am not maining any killer, but i prevere M1 killers for a bit of a challange.

Scottjund is probably one of the best players in this game same goes for Zubat and Marth88 and all of them agree that DS's design is dumb. But then again I don't take their points for face value either since Scottjund some time ago on steam called palletlooping an exploit due to the broken hitboxes (which at the beginning it was but the devs basically left it in) and backtracked from that statement real fast after backlash and Marth isn't even actively playing anymore.

DS even scales off of how good a killer is, if you do not down people multiple times in a non-tunneling game within 60 seconds then yes, DS won't affect you but if you play like let's say for example Zubat or Scott then DS will hit you. Do they still win? I won't disagree with that but how many perks do killers have that basically give them free hookstates? One of the best perks that we have is Pop goes the weasel which sets back general survivor progress by maybe 10% AFTER you hooked somebody or perks like Haunted Grounds which often do nothing if the survivors are careful with it's activation (personally I only remove hextotems that I'm unsure of if the killer already wounded a survivor and is chasing him).

Just give the killer a tracker who got unhooked the last time (no timer just an indication), that person has a 30 second DS out of chase and that timer stops while being chased, if the killer downs him that timer also stops. If the survivor does anything during this time outside of running/vaulting/palletdropping etc then DS gets deactivated. Skillcheck becomes way easier and heck I'd even be ok with making this a passive that all survivors get to counter the rampant toxicity in highranks if killers got something to incentivize fairplay in return. Boom, easy fix.

But the devs don't want a game that is less frustrating afaik because frustration keeps you playing.

You know what my first thought was when i read the OPs posting?

"Nice, i want to know if he is streaming/youtubing or not, maybe i can learn a thing or two"

    See the difference?

Others come here, post the possible opinion of some popular, mediocre to semi-good players that are even notorious for complaing about everything and because of that, people claim that it is a valid argument. How about learn from someone that has no problem with DS instead of beeing a sheep and repeat what a popular but not so strong player has to moan about?

About what you wrote in particluar:

I dont know if Scott or Marth (espcially Marth) are that strong players as you think, but Zubat is indeed a good player. But when you watch his stream, what do you see? He does not even try hard, and still gets the 4K. On top of that, i dont see him get stunned by DS a lot unless he wants to. Also i dont hear him moaning about DS or Unbreakable. He is just doing what every good player is doing: Slug the Survivor and create pressure.

I would not have a problem with some indication on which person you downed most recently, because it could become complicated if survivors all run the same character model. Other then that, DS is in a good spot. So.. good idea by your, no objection from em.

Lat but not least: Since many killer mains are complaining + seeing what devs are doing with the game currently, i dont have any doubt that DS is probably the next thing they will nerf, so i guess this topic will become obsolet in the near future anyway.

@ill_Boston_lli do you upload, if so whats your twitch or youtube?

when are dced survivors gonna give you your bbq stack. thats all i need to be happy

The best way to accomplish this would be simple. Let the killer hook the person who DCd no matter what. After hooking, he gets killed right away. So the killer can decide if it is worth to hook the person or not for his BBQ Stack.

I know this would not solve the problem 100% of the time, since there is always the chance that the person you have not hooked is the last guy (in that case the game would end instantly) but at least it would be a fair compromise.

Sorry but I don't believe you. If you truly have 6k hours in the game then you would know how problematic and abusable DS is. Pretty much everyone has a problem with DS. Ask people like Noob3, Monto, Tru3, Otz, and so on, most will say DS needs changes.

And i dont believe you believe those guys you mentioned are actually good at the game. They are entertaining but none of them is really a very strong player. Maybe the OP is just better, which i can imagine if he really has over 6K hours.

I dont have that much hours on killer like the OP but i also almost never have a problem with DS. Like he said, just slug and you should be fine.

This is why you should always leave if survivors don't click ready by the 15 seconds marker. :)

Nice idea, unfortuntatly this would not work for me at all. In every lobby there is this one guy who let the timer run out.

  • Hm, well i agree with your lol, since he is very popular and a survivor main actually, but still he probably has pumped more hours in billy then almost any other person playing this game, including any killer main.

Battle guy? Who is that, give us a link please.

  • Oh i got another one here, not very well known unfortunatly, but if it comes to the ultimate doctor main: HermantheDoctor

    @HermanTheDoctor

    https://www.twitch.tv/hermanthedoctor

The man even has a Doctor Tatoo on his arm if i remember correctly

  • I disagree with otz beeing the ultimate trapper main. He plays trapper a lot, but also all other killers. Like i said, pick TheEntitylefthand, since he exclusive plays trapper and trapper only nothing else, heck he even "cosplays" trapper on his stream. He is the one and only true trapper main.

On top of that, Otz has like 2000 viewers all the time, no need to promote him anymore, while Enty is less popular with an average of 200-300

  • Trapper: TheEntitylefthand (plays only trapper, nothing else)

    Huntress: Umbra (obvious)

Hillbilly: Ayrun (not a killer main but he mains Billy when playing killer)

    Doctor: HermantheDoctor

I am tired of seeing all this posts asking for it to get nerfed

You survivor mains can handle dodging a full set of hatches, but as soon as you realize it's iridescent heads you can't?

Survivors should just "adapt" to the killer power and perks

If the huntress has iridescent heads you need to

    -dodge the hatches

    -avoid vaulting pallets and windows

    -use walls as your ally

    -use stealth

just stop asking for nerfs when you refuse to adapt and try to learn to counter it

"just stop asking for nerfs when you refuse to adapt and try to learn to counter it"

    🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅

Aren't you the guy who was just crying for a DS nerf like 2 days ago?

(With DS i mean Desicive strike and not Double-Standards by the way 😘)
