I'm sorry that I can't hit dislike for you... Because not everyone use DS and because of that person like you, other people depip

Apparently you dont get that he would have been dead anyway (endgame collapse, facecamping killer, i was the last guy around, it was his last chance). And by the way, because of me, he survived. He had DS. But hey, go dislike the guy who is sacrificing for other.

  • I agree, he was the best character by far (at least best villan) definitly more interesting then Negan.

But as a killer in DbD? I dont know about that, what should his power be?

  • Only the terror radius is affected by it. Said that, this does not make Monitor bad on her.

  • I have lost against really strong Huntress players who were able to snipe across the whole map with ease. Huntress has very high potential but is also one of the hardest killer to master. I think even a very strong Huntress would loose against a sweat squad but a normal 4man wont have an easy time against her.

  • Oh and also keep in mind, every killer has its own MMR.

  • @LoKi030 said:

So I'm rank 17 as a killer and I got matchmaked against a rank 8, 5, 2 and 10 survivors and it was quite frustrating because I want to give the game a chance. The match only lasted about 6-10 minutes because they rushed all the gens, anyone got any tips.

MMR System is brand new, so it most likely is checking where you belong. In CS Go for example it needed 10 games so the system had a vage guess how good you are as a player. I assume it will take at least the same, probably more games because its new to rank you correctly. This is just my assumption, but i bet its just like i said.

  • @BloodMoneyMerc said:

Alright, now I'm a red rank solo survivor that has about 1.6K hours in the game. I would like to think I'm decent at survivor, as I usually end up carrying my teams that struggle doing gens or that can't hold chase for that long. I'm not trying to say I'm a god tier survivor, but I think I should at least be ranked as competent & efficient according to the MMR system. Apparently that is not the case though. This new system is matching me with some very questionable survivors. Like I'm getting paired with yellow & brown ranks consistently today. & they aren't playing like high rank survivors, not in the slightest. Even the killers I'm being matched against don't feel that skilled as killer, but they keep winning because I'm getting paired with some very bad teams. It feels like its a 1v4 where I'm up against a killer & 3 lackluster survivor teammares. If the MMR system really ranks me this low, then what the heck is going into determining someone's MMR? Because I think I'm at least good enough at chases & doing objectives & helping teammates enough to not be this low ranked in the new system.

The system is right now most likely collecting Data and it tries to figure out where you belong.

  • I would absolutly love that idea, unfortunatly people would just abuse it.

  • Survivors i main:

    • Ash (Its Ash)
    • Ace (Coolest dude in the Fog)
    • Claudette (When i started i thought it is a good idea to play her because of stealthy cosmetics)

    Killer i main:

    • Trapper, Wraith, Nurse, Doctor, Demogorgon, Oni, Legion, Spirit, Clown, Pig, Freddy, Cannibal, Hag, Myers

I dont main Billy because i dont want to put the effort to learn his chainsaw properly. He is more fun to verse then to play for me.

I dont main Huntress because i am terrible with her and i dont want to pup hours into her, there are better options for me.

I dont main Ghostface because i am to bussy playing other killers and survivor

I dont main (or in that case... play) Deathslinger because i hate this stupid stinkmouthy laughing Cowboy as survivor. Not feeding into it.

I dont main Pyramid Head because i dont like the concept of those type of killers. Same with Deathslinger... not feeding into it what i hate as survivor.

I dont main Plague because i find her boring tbh. And you usually end up with a short ammount of bloodpoints.

  • Buy the Cannibal (Leatherface DLC)

    • Barbecue & Chilli (Cannibal teachable perk, gives you +25% Bloodpoints for every different Survivor you hook. Lets you see the Aura of ever Survivor 40 Meter away from the hook)
    • Sloppy Butcher (Non-teachable perk, makes survivors bleed more when injured and it takes longer for them to heal)
    • Unrelenting (Non-teachable perk, when you miss an attack with your Hammer, you wont have that much cooldown)
    • Whispers (Non-teachable perk, lets you know when Survivors are in a 32 meter Radius around you)

    Kind regards

  • My advise for total beginners:

Get Feng Min first (Sparks of Madness DLC)

    • Alert (Feng perk, lets you see the Aura of the killer when he is kicking a Generator or a Pallet)
    • Technician (Feng perk, when you miss a skillcheck there is a 50% chance the killer wont hear it)
    • Deja Vu (Non-teachable perk, lets you see 3 generators on the map that are close to each other)
    • Kindred (Non-teachable perk, when somebody is on the hook, you can see the aura of the killer closeby and the aura of your teammates, when you are on the hook, the other survivors can see the auras)

    Kind regards

If people did that, theyd understand why rank doesnt matter. It's the same thing. You dont HAVE to be rank 1. Theres no benefit.

Playing your way will keep you at your level.

Exactly. Giving some hints would help to even know what the game wants me to do. So i do at least have a choice.

I agree. I didn't say it did explain how they try to make it work in DBD. Everything is speculation until they reveal more, if they decided to reveal anything else. I was speculating about the specific question at hand: "When you play one of the killers you are less skilled with, will you still be thrown to a red rank swf because they have been waiting for 10 minutes." I believe based on what information they have provided the answer is yes.

I agree with you we need more info about how the system works and what is considered skill for both sides. They said they would do more post about the system. Hopefully it will be soon now that it is live.

To give you my wage guess about how it works with killer:

Killer ranks are seperated, but only soft MMR separated. What do i mean with that?

Lets imagine we are Trapper main and only play him for now. we are also very good Trapper who can beat 90%+ of the Playerbase, therefore our Trapper MMR would be very high. When we switch to a different killer, lets say Bubba, we are not automatically a "noob" with him according to the MMR. The MMR System classifies us that we have overall killer experience and we start at mid-high MMR with Bubba.

Just a thought, but it would be really rash to do it any different.

  • @Facture said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1505941#Comment_1505941

I assume this will happen just from the verbiage they used in the vague explanation of the system. Looking back at the old matchmaking post they talked about 3 factors: connection, wait time, fairness. From the way they explained it, it seemed like they placed the most importance on connection (which the servers were helping with at the time) and wait time as the priority with fairness coming in 3rd. Then with the talk of the MMR system, notice how they talk about the ability of the system to predict who would win, not the ability of the system to create fair matches. There is still the chance you could get plenty of mismatched games in terms of fairness, but the system predicting your loss will impact your mmr more or less depending on the actual outcome of the games.

Well this explains that it is an ELO System, which should be obvious by now, but it does not explain how they try to make an ELO System work in Dead by Daylight. Because it is not even clearly defined what "winning" is. And if they would define it in any way (lets say escaping) this would not tell a lot about how good someone is.

Broken? No. Situationally better on certain maps? Yes, but that's lots of perks.

We know people don't heal in the TR, that's the point of a lingering effect that you could potentially keep reactivating with high pressure around the map from the delayed effect.

While anti-recovery is cool and all, the devs would never do that. They've made it extremely clear throughout the years of nerfs to slugging that they really hate it. Not to mention all the anti-slug perks they keep adding.

I really don't think they want a perk making slugging any better.

Look at Knockout even. It actually got nerfed and it was already bad in the first place.

Which is a shame because i really think slugging is a strong... often neccessary way to play the game (time pressure, DS etc) But you might be right tho, they probably will not make any changes like this. Thanks for your constructive feedback.

  • You chase someone next to the basement which is not your fault, but just a terrible mistake done by the survivor. After you down her, going back to the basement was understandable and the best idea, no matter if the downed survivor had DS or not.

So in short, you did not camp, they basicly forced you to "proxicamp" by staying in the area chasing an unaware survivor.

  • @Blueberry said:

The killer aura perks like Coulrophobia just need to persist for like 15 seconds after leaving their TR. Now it's solid.

The other aura perks for killer would still need more buffs though.

Would be still a perk that has little to no use because there are better alternatives. Survivors dont heal in your terror radius anyway because of Nurses calling and if you buff it so the effect persists after they leave terror radius it might be broken on maps like game. With the suggestion it would have its own purpose (anti unbreakable/recovery) which is not in the game yet. And it would be a great purpose since you usually slug people to go for another down who is nearby (and therefore in your terror radius) and therefor you get almost always massive value out of it.

Oh I see. I don't have values memorized so I thought "that looks about right"

Case in point, the 10% difference is a really minor difference. Although I think maybe just make the penalty less harsh to recovery speed I don't know it's interesting either way.

Thats also a good idea, just to split the %.

  • @CrowFoxy said:

That would still be a doodoo perk I'd practically never consider running.

Hm, i dont know i would definitly try it out. The perfect perk for slugging. Combine it with Deerstalker, Sloppy and Infectous Fright and this might be even overpowered when i think about it 🤔

Maybe the numbers are a bit to high, but its more about the general idea.

  • @Ghost_Face_Main said:

  • If it would be a daylie thing to verse a thombstone myers, i would say its a lame and very boring way to play the game. Fortunatly, i see a Thombstone Myers once every century so its not that big of a deal. That of couse does not make this discussion less important.

As Myers i used those like 1-2 times, because its boring and pointless.

The average can't never be 2k since there are so many potatoes that go down in under 15 seconds even in red ranks. Unless you find a way to exclude those potatoes from statistics.

  • @Terro said:

When a survivor gets hooked they get dragged into the sky by the entity. The survivors have to touch 3 hooks to weaken the entity (triple the amount of bp and altruism). The killer is notified 3 seconds after a hook is touched. Once the 3rd hook is touched the survivor falls out of the sky and gets sent to the last hook touched. Everything else with the hooking mechanics are the same. This might be a bit unbalanced but little tweaks here and there could make it work.

I think hooking right now is fine as it is, but i give you credit for this nice and very unique idea. Well done.

Of this stupid matchmaking. They said bringing in an mmr would help with trying new killers out. Wow what a shocker, it didn't.

Every single game my rank 13 killer (was 11 but I keep depipping) is being put against rank 1-4 survivors with keys and toxicity.

If killer is locked when queing, so should survivor. What's to say they go into que with a low level Laurie, but then swap to their p3 Claudette after they find a game?

I can't have any fun trying to play new killers because I'm stuck with dumb matchmaking. I tried my best to not make yet another matchmaking post on the forum but it's Bs.

MMR is not implemented in the game yet.

Idk why people keep saying x killer has no counterplay OP. Even when you do provide evidence of counterplay they just keep saying the same thing. Honestly it's getting so annoying. I never really have any problems with any killers they all have their weaknesses.

Somebody dont get the topic... again.

Its not about OP and stuff, its about frustrating / unfun / boring call it however you want chase mechanics. There is no counter to Slinger in a chase. I repeat: In a chase! If you have a counter in a CHASE (genrush is not a chase counter, alright?) against Deathslinger, show evidence of any kind. I would prefere a video. And dont come up with a video where the slinger is missing half of his shots, because then the counter would be "hope the killer is terrible".

Very true, I almost feel locked in to using Spine chill now. I started when Tru played GF and wraith a lot and seemingly everyone else followed suit.

I really don’t need it against stealth killers anymore I’m a lot more aware, but you’re right against Spirit it’s huge... against slinger it’s great...

The problem is I don’t have a good solution to the question, “how do we keep chases fresh, but not let certain killers feel oppressive and unfair in the chase.”

It’s still why I think Huntress is the most perfectly balanced killer. She can shut down certain loops and end chases quickly sometimes, but you can still mind games her at pallets and you still get that audio warning because her hatchets aren’t instant charge. If she gets me I’m not mad, and if I escape a chase I feel exhilarating

Huntress is indeed a great example on how to make a good killer that is fair for both sides. Compair her to the Deathslinger and you see why his mechanic is not fun compared to her (from the survivors pov).

Once she is lifting her hatchet, the survivor knows that she is ready to attack. In contrast the Deathslinger is always ready to attack and you dont see it coming. Remove that completly. Add 0,5 seconds it takes to raise is weapon. Just remove the quickscope and give him something in return. Honestly if it would be up to me, i would completly rework him at all.

The reason why having quickscope in the game is not only unfun because you can not react, but rather IF the survivor reacts, he is loosing distance. Not against huntress. She is about to attack but fail to shoot her shot for some reason - she looses distance. And that is how it should be when a killer has a range ability.

  • @johnmwarner said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1501880#Comment_1501880

Really good point, I’ll be honest I haven’t thought about it that way. The chase is certainly my favorite part on either side, maybe that’s why I don’t play as slinger much despite loving to play as Huntress...

One thing that may be swaying my argument is Spine Chill is standard for me when I play survivor so I do have a good heads up when Slinger is coming for me and I can start “the chase,” earlier and have more options.

I use spine chill very often aswell and its the best tool you have against Deathslinger, Nurse, Spirit etc.. mainly against killer you wont stand a chance in a chase but you rather have to gain distance before it even comes to a chase. And that is in my opinion just not a very fun experience.

  • @johnmwarner said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1500537#Comment_1500537

People call killers “unfun,” whenever they break the standard mold of loop twice, drop pallet, loop twice, take a hit, loop twice, dead hard...

This is why PH, slinger, spirit, Freddy and Doctor are are so “unfun,” to go against for a lot of people.

Having to adapt your ABC strategy Turns a lot of people whiny. Reminds me of a friend who used to play Madden and run literally one play Tom Brady passing to Randy Moss the entire game and WIN because it was so busted. We started manually controlling and triple teaming him and he never won after that and stopped playing soon after.

Lets be honest, whats the main reason why this game is so much fun to play and to watch? The chase of course.

It is great that every killer has different mechanics and therefor every chase is different but the problem with any killer like Deathslinger is that when you are in chase, you are already in deep trouble and you are about to get hit or downed. When the fun should actually start, the fun is more or less over. Try to get iridecent evader emblem against a good deathslinger... never ever gonna happen in your life.

If some think stealth and gen pumping is a lot of fun, well they might have indeed a lot of fun playing Deathslinger, but the majority of advanced survivors will not like that typ of playstyle.

  • lol not even R1/R1 and you have the audacity to talk about anything in the game.

    Leave, noob.

No, the hit was not guaranted in this tile, if he shot he could've have miss the hit by a mile, you know survivor can move around when chained right, i've done it several time and the killer just couldn't get me.

lol yea he could have missed the shot, but thats it. Its in the hand of deathslinger if he gets the hit or not. Should ot be the case, there should be the possiblitiy for the other side to do anything against that.

If the killer could not get you, its not that you played good, its he playing bad. Same when i "dodge" a shot, it was not me outplaying Slinger, it was a mix of luck and Killer missing his shot. Well, you can call missing a shot luck aswell, but that does not change that its not in the hand of survivors if he hits you or not.

If you mean Dead Hard, yes maybe thats true. Not saying Dead Hard is not an issue aswell. This is not a Survivor vs Killer discussion, its about extremly unfun chase experience because of killer mechanics that are terrible.

Uh huh, and what about every other killer? You can be the best wraith in the world will still lose to an optimal swf, and that's unfair in my book. Fact is, this game is seriously unbalanced at both ends of the spectrum, so we all just have to deal with it.

Please, again this is not about ballance! Stop with those arguments because they are not valid the slightest ty... You CAN make a killer that is fair and strong at the same time....

Guessing game, no, there is a better counter to Slinger. Run to a pallet and drop it early, turn and hold W... there you’ve just forced a 110 killer to chase you for a long time. If your teammates aren’t asleep at the wheel 3 gens should easily get done in the first chase

How should that change anything? You might be able to pull that off when you get the stun (if even), but you will not stun a good Slinger .. you know he can shoot you before you have the oportunity. And when you run away... great he will ignore that pallet and walks around.

  • @Aldofer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1499904#Comment_1499904

well the first guy react well if it isnt for running in the killer , the second needed just to loop where he was and stop trying to duck like huntresshe would never have been able to get a hit with his power at least

Then he would have been shot. He can not react to it anyway, if zub would have pulled the trigger, he would have got hit. And on most tiles, like this you can get reeled in no matter if a pallet is up there or not. You see the problem, right? Does not really matter what you do. But to be fair, this video was more to showcase how fair the fake is. And the predicting / guessing argument is not valid at all.

Can you all stop trying to rationalize your mediocrity by quoting scott, most of the killers Scott have to face or if he is playing themselves are on another level than what you experience on average. That out of the way, he is still, in the end, wrong, what's boring is subjective, you will find a lot of people who like VSing Spirit, Deathslinger, some that will find Clown or Pig boring.

What people think is fun is subjective, what you actually mean when you say "boring" is : They have a bigger chance to win in a 1v1 than other killers and you don't like that, because, let's face it, you only loop in a suboptimal way, or worse, you just want to loop those killers like they were a wraith.

Scott is versing are the same killers i and many here verse all the time (Rank 1), so its not complaining about a subject that is not relevant for anyone but Scott and a handful of others.

Its not about having a higher chance of winning a 1v1, you dont get the point at all.

Personally i love chases against the 2 of them. They require different tactics then say trapper which is 3 loops and drop. Then keep looping pallet or move depending on if he breaks or not.

Yes and the best tactics are to pump the gens as fast as possible. Is this fun for anyone? But thats the trend with recent killers. Cut chases short, give killers full control (or at least almost full control) of a chase and thats just not good for the game overall.

    @DeathGrip said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/178039/pyramid-head-and-deathslinger-let-this-trend-stop-please

So according to you, anyone, even a complete beginner should be able to pick up PH or DS and win every game, with absolutely no challenge, because they're OP and survivors stand no chance. Gtfo.

DS is so slow that it's pretty easy to loop him.

PH is super easy as well after the hotfix.

    Nurse however, still nasty.

Where did i say any of this? A complete beginner will not be a top player obviously and therefore wont get those easy kills like an experienced Deathslinger. I did not even say he is op in the sense that you can not beat a good Slinger (he is not OP thats my opinion). This is not about ballance at all, its about chase mechanic. Genrush because he is slow and can only target one guy after another vs super fast chase with little to no counterplay. A survivor relies on how good the killer plays and has little inpact on anything else.

And if you think you can loop a Deathslinger i can only laugh about it sorry. You obviously never played against a good one. But if you think you can, please show us a video to backup that argument. I for myself can not, unless the Slinger is missing shots, and thats all you can hope for.

  • @blue4zion said:

So as others gave great counters to Deathslinger and Pyramid head I'll say a few to help against Spirit.

Be more scared against Spirit matches, such as don't stick on gens when you hear the heartbeat and avoid chases as much as possible.

Keep line of sight on her, you need to know when she's began phasing so you can start trying to outplay her.

Pay attention to her hair and animations when a Spirit is trying to trick you, there are noticeable signs when she's left her body if you pay close enough attention, any one who doesn't believe me needs to get on KYF and I'll 100% tell you everytime you phase. It happens pretty much right as she leaves her husk, so act fast.

Stick near pallets and windows as much as possible, and like I said watch for when she's phasing, then be unpredictable. Even if you're making noise, you can slow vault a pallet or window as soon as she's lost sight.

This is how I and the good survivors I've versed can keep a Spirit busy.

There has not been any "counters" to Deathslinger and Pyramid head given so far beside the drop pallet right away and LOS break (quickscope still counters this), which can only be called a bad joke.

Your spirit counters are also no real counters because they are only variations on how you wanna pull off your 50/50. Actually its not even a 50/50 when she is running stridor.

    @Dwinchester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/178039/pyramid-head-and-deathslinger-let-this-trend-stop-please

You either get short gen times and fast chases, or you nerf the chase potential and increase gen times. Killers NEED anti loop tools since every gen slowdown perk got gutted and don't synergize. So pick your poison, either fix gen times, or deal with short chases, because if both happen, killer won't have a chance.

That does not have to be the case at all. Look at hillbilly or even Huntress. Both are fair, with a lot of room to play for both side without beeing unfair. The better player wins. Comapre it with Deathslinger... You can be the best survivor in the world with inhuman reaction, against a potent slinger you will just get hit every single time. You are not dodging Deathslinger, he is missing. And thats just unfair in my book.

Tbh if your getting hit by Pyramid heads attacks at loops, either you are looping poorly, got greedy, or Pyramid head outplayed you. He's only really good in the right persons hands otherwise he's pretty challenging to play and can easily be destroyed by good survivors.

He gets destroyed by Genrush. Its not about winning, its about the chase, and versus PH, chase is one-dimensional as hell. I am not saying he is OP, its just extremly boring and frustrating at times to play against. Thats why i say they should stop releasing those killers.

Counterpoint, killers are sick of survivors being able to know EXACTLY how many times they can loops each pallet and turning chases into a mathematical nightmare of pallet drop + loop - downs = gens done

There is still a chase, looping, mind games to the killers you mentioned but they are different than it would be for trapper.

Make it fun for one side on the cost of the other side is never a good idea. I am not saying that survivors should have all the fun. Make killers that are strong but fair in chases, thats all i ask for. It should be super obvious that Slinger or PH is not fair in a chase. Not even mentioning Nurse and Spirit.

Oh my god this topic has been milked dry.

We get it, you don't like some killers because you can't loop them the traditional way. They have more control and you don't like that.

Spirit is the only one that might be a bit fundamentally broken, but she don't need no nerfs or adjustments.

Deathslinger and PH are fine, and some people find them fun and some unfun. They are NOT broken on a fundamental level. Just because you or somebody doesn't like them doesn't justify nerfs or adjustments. I absolutely hate Michael and Pig, but you don't see me asking for them to be adjusted.

This topic is for not dried at all, its very relevant, because they still have not fixed and of those killers that gives all the power to one side. This is NOT a ballance discussion by the way.

I dont speak for others. I actually play Fair. It IS just a Game. I at times message GG. To those who play fair. Did what they were meant to do. But more often than not. There are those who go beyond and wait by the gates clicking and tagging. Alright, that's there fun. I dont go near the gates when I know I lost.

It takes time. They eventually leave but still. That level of toxicity is there because obviously they won. Just leave. Right? Be nice and leave?

Where's the change and effect ? And it's obvious the forums are filled to the brim with toxic forum posts. So where's the change?

    Just leave right?

The change is right here and you experience it right now, all the time. Imagine everyone would say that toxic is the coolest thing on earth? Trust me, after a while most of them, maybe even you might jump on that train. The human brain is evolving and its learning (from enviorment and other people mostly). We are learning all the time, hopefully the right things.

Yes, everyone has the ability to change things. For themselves, you can't change others

Cause and Edfect? What does Newton's Law got to do with The Will of People. Choosing to be who they are.

And if you wanna bring up History

Has Racism really changed? Ot has the info of it changed?

P.S. you didnt answer my question

By changing yourself, you change others. This is really not worth discussion for me, because i see it as an undeniable fact. Not agreeing with this just leads to nothing, and nothing cant change anything that should be changed, right? The better question is, whats the point of not beeing nice to each other? Just your believe that you can not change anything anyway? Ignoring a problem is suporting the problem..

You ask has Racism changed? Oh god yes it has. It is no where near perfect, but compare it with the past. Or women's rights... Simple people changed that, not some strange force that came out of nowhere. Poeple make opinions. And people make attitude. The question is not if you can cause anything, the question is only WHAT your inpact in society (in our case a game) is.

How often did that make another stop being toxic?

I had a lot of moments but it is also not always the direct and immediate effect i am talking about. That should be clear by now.
