It's not a problem though.
You can easily avoid it. If they all don't ready up till it's like ~10sec left then just dodge.Actually, it is a problem no matter how you look at it. Anybody who falls for it has had a feature rendered entirely useless, a feature intended to prepare ahead of time which allows you to setup a build based off of the information you're given. The reason survivors do it is usually to avoid perks such as franklin's demise. The fact that it can happen is an issue, especially when it can be abused to make the games of newer and older players miserable even if that game results in a win.

The problem (and why last second switching even exists) is because killers are cry babies and dodge any lobby with items in it. They also dodge depending on clothing of survivors, it's hilarious - buck up and get good.Want to know what else is funny? Last second switching so you don't get certain perks get used on you. I agree that dodging over clothing is usually pretty silly and definitely isn't necessary, infact the only time I agree with dodging is to avoid toxic people you've ran into in the past. Fixing last second switches is not a matter of 'getting good' but rather fixing an exploit in the lobby system in general. Of course newer players are going to dodge items while more experienced players are not going to care if you have one unless you suddenly just last second switch.

And they'll simply get dodged if they don't.One problem exists because of another. They shouldn't be addressed separately.
Personally, I have no issue when people just bring in the items they intend on using to begin with. It's not toxic by just bringing it in, what does however become toxic is when people last second switch and then show negative behavior ingame each and every time this happens. If you want to use something, come in with it the first time. Sure we should do something about constant dodging as well, the bigger problem in this picture is unavoidable toxicity which is not good under any circumstances at all.> @Visionmaker said:

D/Cs are punished and offer BP to the opposing side. Lobby dodging is sanctioned, unlimited, effortless, and onesided.
Killers need to understand that it works both ways. If they take issue with survivors d/cing after seeing a hidden offering or "unbalanced" add ons, then they're hypocrites for dodging survivors with what they "think are unbalanced". Players should be able to use the items they want-and have rightfully earned-without fear of anyone deciding "not to play with them".
Problem here is that the type of people who last second switch often attempt to be as toxic as possible more times than they would just want to be able to use their items. From my own experience I've noticed considerably different behavior from the players that bring in what they want by default and the ones that last second switch. In addition you have to keep in mind that last second switching also negates a big reason for the lobby in the first place. The difference here is also that this is a problem that can be solved while dodging lobbies cannot (although it can be punished). But I also wouldn't go as far as to completely punish lobby dodging either because let's say you went up against a toxic group in the previous game and then they show up again, I don't see the majority of players wanting to put up with the same annoyance yet again for another game or two in a row.

I've probably said this before but I'll say this again. The prices are fine, if anything I'd be more for the idea of weekly deals for cosmetic sets similar to how the shrine of secrets work (probably only for cosmetics you can get with shards). Otherwise the cost is fine because odds are you aren't going to play absolutely every survivor and most likely not every killer so there's really no need to purchase all of the cosmetics you want in cash as the vast majority of them can be unlocked with shards while what I'll call 'exclusive skins' or special cases are auric cells only as they're the must haves of a character if you main them. The game itself is a one time purchase ontop of DLC's which are also one time purchases per account (which I must point out, all original DLC characters can be unlocked with shards). BHVR has been generous with us and already does a lot for us ingame by giving us licensed killers, producing new content every 6 weeks as part of their development schedule which includes new killers, survivors, maps and then also new skin weekly, all of which takes time and creativity to plan and money to create. It's absolutely fair in my opinion that the skins are more expensive as skins open a fair and honest way to create money off the game as much as possible to keep new content flowing while keeping the devs paid and the game maintained. If there is anything I'd rather see done with the auric cells I'd rather just see the price adjusted for characters to match the cost of a DLC (meaning buying characters with auric cells as currently it's a waste of money to do that rather than directly buy it) and potentially weekly deals.

Although I don't agree with absolutely everything that happens with the game, I appreciate the amount of work that has gone into each update this game has received and am glad that more content is being released constantly to keep the game fresh. The devs (and well, the team in general) get too much hate for the work they do and deserve all the respect they can get, because without devs we wouldn't even have this game to begin with.

If killers are so weak and camping is okay? How come I see killers higher ranked who aren't campers? Last I checked this game is skilled based, any body can sit and wait for someone to die on a hook. but it takes a real killer to kill everyone without sitting. Camping is such a touchy subject for killers and most believe its fine, whatever I can't stop you, but I don't see you advancing in ranks.
And if killers are as weak as you say they are, why play them? why not try survivor or play another game you can win at (if thats all you want)I don't care at this point but I'm just saying its a bit counter productive if you want to win at something you know you suck at.
I know killers are weak, I've played killer before, but even so why play them if all your going to do is not have fun?
Simple.
If nobody played killer then there would simply be no games at all. In my case it's just incredibly satisfying to win even if the game is not in my favor, plus with the recent changes it should start being much better for killers anyways. Whether someone decides they want to camp or actively hunt really just comes down to the player and how they want to play and how they feel they get most rewarded for, some might even camp because someone wanted to be toxic or perhaps the gates are powered and they have no other choice and even in some cases you end up with people diving for the hooks as much as they possibly can. Personally the only times I'll ever camp is if
A : The exit gates are powered and opened as I would be more likely to down another survivor being dumb enough to make the save than I would looking around just to have people get free escapes
B : The survivor in incredibly toxic (this one is a bit iffy, depends)
C : I know that everyone is trying to get the save and won't move away from the hook
or
D : I'm just boredKillers are weak but it's still satisfying to win and by quitting that just ultimately means you're neither fixing the problem or giving feedback from the killer's perspective for when an update comes out.

To say the game is dying is a rather long stretch. On July 2nd (just 20 days ago) DbD reached a new peak of over 46,000 players on just PC alone which if you ask me that's pretty far from dead especially considering that hasn't popped up since the November of 2016 (according to steam charts).I agree that the game has its problems but let's not over-exaggerate by saying the game will die soon, in addition to this the devs have also been working on the current issues with the game, for instance with this new mid-chapter patch coming up both Trapper and the Hag are getting some great buffs along with some neat changes to their add-ons, previously near useless perks are being given nice changes (imo) so it's really hard to say that the game will die. I will say this again that I agree the game has issues but we aren't going to be bringing up the same issues alone as I'm sure a lot of us can point towards at least some of the same problems, saying the game will die however wastes the opportunity to bring up a more meaningful discussion like how exactly we would like to see things be changed.

things like that tend to happen when you're wrong. im unwilling to listen to anyone yet no one is giving ME any ideas either. they're just telling me how wrong and stupid i am or telling me to suggest fixes when in fact i do. again. everything i complained about, i stated why its ######### and what they could do/should have done. i did this with everything i complained about. idk what you peoples deal is but you simply cant [BAD WORD] read to save your lives. i mentioned flashlights at the end of my post yes but i was not complaining about the nerfs that happened to them etc. i was making fun of the devs for their stupidity for changing the way flashights and pallet stuns worked making survivors way op. i cant suggest a fix for something i mentioned at the end of my post when they already reverted the change dude.......i just posted it their as a laughable example of what goes through the devs brains sometimes. There is no "right" or "wrong" when it comes to making ideas, there's only "good" or "bad" which regardless if fully based off of opinion. Maybe the reason why nobody wants to add onto the conversation as much has to do with your horrible attitude both in your initial post and the responses towards what others have to say. The thing here is, you also completely missed the point I made earlier on in my first response to this.
@vampire_toothy said:
My final bit of advice is not to flame the people you're asking to listen to you, think you'd ever go up to the police and then insult them before asking them to listen to your complaint? No. You should treat the people you're asking with respect otherwise don't expect them to want to read your post or respect you.You want the devs to listen to what you have to say, why the hell would you flame them? At the end of the day that's just going to discourage any developer from responding to you, or at the very least it's just going to make you look like an ass when looking at what you have to say. You told me you never brought up flashlights but you couldn't even remember your original post. Your attitude in response to others though? Even worse! Pal, if you want any respect and a decent discussion on this where people are actually willing to chip into this then you're going to have to treat the others responding to it with respect and also change the attitude of your initial post. Had you actually made a quality post that calmly addressed the issues of the game others like myself would actually take the time to be discussing about your ideas and what can be done to the perks rather than everyone making a meme out of your attitude. Obviously nobody is going to give you ideas when you come in screaming all over the place, change your attitude and try again is my advice. People here are listening and they are definitely reading (well, other than the ones asking for TL;DR as that was a massive post), you're simply approaching this wrong and are using the wrong arguments. Additionally, if you want to convince anybody to listen to your points you're going to have to give multiple examples of how the current perks are bad (on both ends) and then give off examples of how your suggestions should (in theory) work.

ok so you're telling me to...instead of flaming them to suggest changes. if you read anything i said you'd notice i suggested changes for everything i feel they ######### up. idk where or how you learned to read......but get better at it lol.secondly hours do account for something in this game. this game is all about being experienced and knowledgable.......which involves hours.
thirdly. why are u mentioning flashlights? did i mention flashlights? is it a part of the main post of the thread? no? then don't mention it. the flashlight nerf didn't effect me and neither did this quicker pick up in the ptb.
finally. if you read the things i said above you'll realize you're a [BAD WORD] idiot who needs to learn to comprehend what he reads or just learn to read in general. everything you said i didnt do in my post i did and vice versa.
I see you're another one that likes to throw insults around too, great!
@DukeJukem said:
one last thing. heres proof the devs dont know what they're doing. remember a few months back when they reworked pallet stuns/flashlight saves on killers? so you could flashlight during anytime or drop the pallet at any time and the killer would drop the survivor every single [BAD WORD] time? yea i remember that too and as a survivor.......i was shocked and dumbfounded. it floored me so badly that i played properly like before the patch. i timed the pallets and flashlights properly because i knew it was terribly unfair. these devs are just........idk man. [BAD WORD] canadians. maybe i'll check back during christmas or so but this game is catered to rank 20 noobs now. bye byeWhat was that about not bringing up flashlights and that I didn't read your post or don't know how to read properly either? If I didn't read your post, then I wouldn't have seen your comment about flashlights. Why argue with me over this when I clearly agreed that flashlight change was awful when it was around?
In addition to this, yes you suggested that they fix the volume and that they make less aura reading perks to make this more of a "hide and seek" game in a way, the problem that I was pointing out at was the fact that you never suggested what should be done with perks like dark sense or bitter murmur instead. You at no point suggested what should be done with these perks that wouldn't lead to them being back to garbage tier. Your "solution" to DS is additionally not a solution at all, the perk deserves to be burned down to the ground and things like enduring only make DS a little less annoying, any half decent player will still be able to make good use out of even that little amount of time by getting themselves back at yet another pallet or window.
Yes, you can gain knowledge of the game by having hours but if you even paid the slightest bit of attention as to what I was saying you would realize that I said it's still possible to come up with terrible and unbalanced ideas regardless of how long you've played and that at the end of the day it just doesn't add onto your argument but rather is just you flexing off about how much time you've spent. Yes it means you've played the game a lot, but does it mean you have a good idea? No, an idea from someone with as many as 1,000+ hours can still be as bad as one that comes from a person with 100 or less hours. Hours do not make up for bias and in this case does not make up for your attacks either on here.
I have read your post, you're simply unwilling to listen to anybody with a different opinion and will resort to insulting people any chance you get. Good job, you've confirmed to me that you will be yet another person on the forums to do just that.
-
@DukeJukem said:
-[insert wall of text here]-Here's a few things I can say. You don't know balance IMO.
Alright, I'm not going to defend the flashlight change but that was a while back and got fixed (thankfully).
Second thing, hours do not add onto your argument (I was guilty of this too earlier on), they only account for how long you've played the game and you can still be biased or have bad ideas regardless of how long you've played.Personally, I think the devs are actually doing a pretty good job so far by taking a look at a number of the previously awful perks and making them at least a little better along with making a previously bad and decent killer way more better in the average hands which means that perhaps there might actually be more variety in what is used in the average game. If you don't like the perk changes then propose how they can actually make these perks better, otherwise it's time for you to get in line and adapt like the thousands of other players.
I can honestly go on and on with my points, but at this point I'd feel like a robot with how many times I'd need to restate them. My final bit of advice is not to flame the people you're asking to listen to you, think you'd ever go up to the police and then insult them before asking them to listen to your complaint? No. You should treat the people you're asking with respect otherwise don't expect them to want to read your post or respect you. -

Yet decisive, sprint burst, adrenaline, and self care sre crutches right? Just because THEY WORK does not equal to being a crutch. Nurses calling legit gives away a survivors aura and so does BBQ. Okay...maybe BBQ isn’t a crutch perk but complaining about a grasp escape when you can run enduring 3 but saying aura reading perks aren’t a crutch is pushing it.Nobody ever said anything about adrenaline in this post, not to my memory anyways. Decisive is indeed a crutch because it rewards the survivor for failing in such a way where if an experienced player used it then congrats! You've wasted your time as the killer for nothing, now you can go for another survivor and then get DS'd again until it happens 4 times without any penalty towards the survivor using it. Self-care? I have no complaints about that perk really, it's super powerful but I can already live without using it and still make it into the high ranks. The reason why I don't care about self-care though is because people act incredibly stupid with the perk. Sprint burst? Abused to avoid a hit that should've otherwise landed even with the speed boost, must I say more? It's a dead hard without needing to be injured when you activate it as the killer makes the swing. Also yes, if a perk works it can still be classified as a crutch if it turns out to be way too powerful.
Also, enduring is by no means a counter to DS because you still get hit with it, perhaps you end up being stunned for less time but does that change the annoyance of the perk? No, a good player will still be able to use that time to their advantage.
Let me give you some tips though, nurses calling only works on survivors that cannot care to think for even one moment. If you heal in the terror radius of the killer then that's absolutely your fault, this perk can be countered by having a brain and not healing when you should be in danger. Back when I used nurses calling I almost never saw any aura's from people healing because they actually thought about it. Infact, I can win without the perk and I can win against people using the perk. BBQ? People complain about this perk way too much, it was added to promote healthier gameplay so people would stop camping as much, if you think people are so reliant on the perk then start tricking them with lockers and have a laugh at it when they go to check it just to realize nobody was in it! Trick the killer into thinking they know where you're going. Depending on the killer, some won't notice you if you hide behind a gen as well (which had their aura's turned into a much more red aura to match the survivors). Now, that doesn't change the fact you still even thought that brutal strength was a crutch despite it only taking 0.52 seconds off of a 2.6 second animation.
@MegMain98 said:
There are crutch perks on both ends. Okay, maybe brutal strength isn’t crutch...I’ll admit that. BBQ and NC could be considered crutch however.I don’t LIKE playing killer. Never been good at it. Not because of the so called “crutch perks” that survivors use, just because I’m never good at killing. Wasn’t great at Jason on F13, not the greatest on DBD. Why play killer when I’m better at survivor? Doesn’t make sense.
You can play killer because it's part of the game to enjoy playing both sides. You don't need to be a great killer but that's why you learn and keep at it to get better at the game, plus gaining even more bloodpoints should be enough of an incentive to play as killer considering you'd be easily leveling up your characters faster than you would just playing survivor. Should the day come that maybe you make it to a high rank as a killer, maybe then you will come to realize that there are far bigger problems on both ends than aura reading perks currently.

I mean they told everyone they’d give people a unique cosmetic for supporting them and buying the dlc so I understand where why some people are upset.I get that and I can understand why people would be upset with these cosmetics not being available right away, perhaps they should make an announcement regarding what's happening with that. In my opinion though, I don't think they will be able to whip up exclusive skins that will really shout "thank you" to the purchasers right away so I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see them come around until maybe a patch or two later. My main problem comes in when people expect a refund over an item they've already used long enough as is.

There are so many cases reported where killers will dodge a lobby when they see items (no matter what kind of items really)
or even bloody clothing. And that's the best case scenario. Worst case scenario they will DC at the begining of the match
and you will lose everything you brought with you.I don't understand why it's ok for the killer to Bring Mories/Tombstones and stuff like that while the won't accept any items from survivors.
Now survivors started 6-second swapping and it's a bloody war out there. Killer Mains vs Survivor Mains. Just remove this stupid feature please. It only promotes fightingI've even been forced to not use my Auric Cell items that I just bought because WAY too many killers Dodge me and it takes 3-4 Lobbies until I get a game. I'm just stuck with my Green shirt and the default pants with Claudette for now.
That's sillyShort answer : No
Long answer : Absolutely not. Killers are allowed to see the items survivors bring in so they can adjust their builds accordingly as the devs have brought up before, why else would it be a feature to begin with? Now, I don't agree with people dodging over bloody clothing but that's not up for me to decide whether or not people will continue to be dodged or not over that.
As a killer, the only thing I won't tolerate is a full toolbox squad (mostly due to the risk of BNPs) as far as items go (streamers are another story). Last second switching should not even be a thing to begin with as to me that just shows the survivor will be toxic as hell rather than them just joining with the item to begin with. I won't blame new killers for dodging people with items because they're learning but last second switchers only worsen the problem. To disable the ability to view items means that you're preventing killers from knowing what perks to bring in (meaning that perks like lightborn and franklins demise will never be used by anyone but people that are paranoid about items).
As a survivor, I very rarely get dodged and am currently just about to finish getting the cosmetics I want on my main survivor which until then has bloody clothing on (well the shirt followed by two unlocked rares). Infact, the only time I get dodged is if everyone joins the lobby at the same exact time. Sometimes people dodge over a lobby full of items and that happens with me in the game too, but it isn't a hassle for me to get into a game and ultimately if anything I'll spend more time looking for an available lobby than I will waste time in an active one just to get dodged.
Let me throw this back, that's silly to want to remove a feature killers use to adjust their builds as they were intended to do, your solution will not fix the problem and instead may even lead to more newer players leaving due to not knowing what to expect and could potentially cause a further issue with killers as a whole and even potentially survivors for running into more unfavorable games along with increased toxicity on both ends. Plus I must note, who are you to decide whether or not a dodge was justified? In the eyes of the person hosting the game, perhaps they had a very terrible experience with a specific item in the past, why on Earth would they want to subject themselves to the same exact risk again?
-
If you really want to get those saltmines going, use nurse (with insidious, blood warden, NOED and whatever you want the fourth perk to be) and then blink behind the exit gate and wait. Or just run 5 blinks, that works too.
-
Why do you feel like you should be refunded? You paid for the DLC with your own money and got to try it out early. I also doubt they will have any compensation ready that fast.
Regardless, in my opinion you've already gotten more than you paid for by getting the DLC's as you had multiple months to enjoy the characters and have them leveled up and that was either for 7.99 or 6.99 USD depending on when you purchased it. Think of it like food, you go to a store and purchase maybe $20 worth of food, that might just last you a week or two and is definitely not permanent. You think you can just eat the food and then turn it back in for a refund because you don't have it the way you bought it anymore? The answer is no because you already enjoyed the product (or just had it) so because of that you're not entitled to a refund and if you really ask me, compensation isn't needed either (while nice, it's not necessary).

Comparing DS (a perk that gives a free, undeserved escape after failing) to BBQ (a perk that significantly reduces camping) is like comparing Eggs with Bananas.
People have such a short memory. They don´t remember how the game was before BBQ or swivel hooks.
If i see 1 more complaint about BBQ, i swear i´m going full Insidious Basement camper with Leatherface until survivors ask me to equip BBQ again.Do it. Wear that Insidious Basement Leatherface.
How is BBQ and DS any different. Both give undeserving escapes/finds. They are the same in that regard. I've seen killers before BBQ that couldn't find a survivor right next to them, now they just zip on over with the BBQ and Billy and begin the chase. Not to mention let's be honest, if a killer doesn't see one survivor on BBQ he suddenly just stands there and searches every blade of grass even tho 40m is pretty far out lol.
BBQ rewards the killer for doing their objective of finding a person in the first place and then putting them on a hook for it to maybe give you useful information. DS rewards the survivor for failing. Do you see the difference yet? In a different style of gameplay I'd argue against aura reading entirely but the devs here want to ensure that everyone gets in on the action of the game as much as possible to avoid having people left out, hence why we have perks like BBQ & Chili (which is intended to promote healthier gameplay), nurses calling and any other form of aura reading for both sides. Tricking a killer with BBQ & Chili is not difficult (unless you're against hillbilly and nurse due to their mobility but even then it's not impossible). Try to fool the killers with lockers and have a laugh at it! If you think people are so dependent on it and would otherwise be unable to find people then in theory it should be easy for you to fool them too, right?

Just because something works as intended doesn't mean that it can't be unbalanced, people are right to complain about DS.

Thank you, so in that case I'll make sure to just scan my posts for any typos more often then.
-
Now, I would like to take a moment to just bring up one thing here.
@No_Mither_No_ProblemNow obviously I don't want to derail the post but after looking at the whole argument I think this just needs to be said, what's even the point?
Truth is, everyone has their own opinion on things such as clickbait or even something as silly as a tier list. Obviously clickbait I guess generally comes in at basically the same definition with the difference being in more or less things defining it but the thing about a tier list is that no matter what they will always be opinionated and you can't take that out of what a tier list is. So what if a person puts Myers nearly at the top of their tier list? Rank 20's put Freddy and doctor on the top of their tier list (obviously a joke here but some people do genuinely think that), some people actually think leatherface is better than hillbilly, some actually somehow think nurse is the worst based off of their opinion of the game. No single tier list will be perfect and if anything it makes it interesting to see what is placed where and why by the person because that means that some people agree or disagree on the strength of a character. There is nothing in the code (I would hope) that says "no matter what this is how good the killer is and always will be!", they're just made and the community learns how to use them and then it gets judged, all opinionated at the end of the day. What does it matter how someone rates something, sooner or later you will find a list you disagree with. All I'm seeing here if I'm being completely honest is a pointless argument that's derailing the topic of this thread itself only for one person to want to prove their point more than the other. I'll just end this off with saying that everyone has an opinion (a tier list being one of them), you aren't forced to agree with it and it doesn't need to be a big deal especially considering that not everyone will share your opinion of how things should be.As for the actual game itself, didn't really seem too appealing. It's an interesting idea being tried out but it just simply looks too unbalanced and it seems like you're really just relying on jumpscares to catch people off as otherwise any player will just avoid you forever due to lack of speed and well...a button to dodge any attack made and then some ridiculous things like the bell. Not exactly the most appealing game in the world in its current state ;p

I have been told multiple times to go and kill myself and actively encouraged to do so. Imagine if i was really susceptible to this abuse and acted on this. Is this ok? No. Are the devs of this game doing anything to combat this? No. They even took the reporting feature out due to people reporting camping, face-camping when it is not even in the game anymore, for killing them. You know the game. They have no issues releasing DLC after DLC but cant address actual potentially harmful abusive people.
I'm not arguing against this and in my post actually sides with the fact that toxicity like this is absolutely not acceptable. Though weren't they planning on bringing up the reports again in the future or am I mixing this up with something else? But yes, I do agree more should be done to combat the excessively toxic players.

Who would care what about something some random person had said to them?
Either grow a thicker skin or use that toggle button to hide the chat if it hurts your feeling so badly.
Seriously , don't see why would anyone quit a game because of that, it's so childish.
You're either a kid or a very sensitive woman if you quit a game because people talk s*** to you. This is an incredibly ignorant of the problem itself. Perhaps it may not bother you, but that does not excuse the fact that the actual rules of the game are being violated and that there are people that do indeed get bothered by the toxicity. You have absolutely no clue what the person behind the screen has gone through, they could be having a bad day, be depressed or have had a rough past that make it worse when exposed to constant toxicity. You may say not to care what some random person has said to them, but bullying in the real world is the same exact issue of the fact that it's "some random person" that's taking time out of their day to make your own miserable and it has infact been proven that the impact could be the same if not worse then people doing the same thing in the real world. Also, like others I have to point out that your comment is sexist and I must ask, why specifically a woman? Edit : (Now perhaps this might not actually be your intention here, I'm just pointing it out)
TL:DR there's no excuse for toxicity and to say it's just a random person is ignorant and ignores the problem entirely as an excuse instead of fixing something that clearly bothers lots of people.

Iam saying this as a Player from the first Hour, i have over 3k hrs in the game. Spent on both sides.i loving this game but...
if this is going life, like it is with a overpowered trapper and the bullshitty nerfs to the exhaustion perks i will never play it again. That is not fun at all, neither for me playing as trapper or Killer( where is the challenge anymore?) and as a survivor.BHVR, stop listening to crying baby killers with 300hrs! Instead complaining about everything in the game and survivors are beeing OP, they should spent time in the game and get better.
In my opinion, these changes will not kill the game. First of all you need to take into account of the fact that the perk changes means that maybe people might finally decide to pick other perks.
For me personally (as someone who has put nearly 1.2k hours into the game nearly equally into survivor and killer) I only need to use an exhaustion perk once per chase and my perk of choice (if I have it) is lithe, if anything this change could be a doorway to giving vigil a buff to make it part of the meta. But honestly, if you're going to complain about trapper and hag getting long overdue changes then I'd really hate to see how you put up with nurse and hillbilly users. These changes literally look like they're all about ensuring the killer can set traps and then get into chases quicker (and with less punishment or otherwise time wasted when you have people following you around). The only thing I will say is that maybe some of the hag changes could potentially be a tiny bit overboard in the hands of good hag users (a rarity) but that's the entire point of a PTB - to test something out to ensure nothing has been over or underdone. You might hate this, but for me this will be a breathe of fresh air to see more variety in the game for both killers and survivor perks.
I also love how you provide absolutely no advice to these so called baby killers, some of them have a very valid reason to complain (for instance in a recent forum post I saw 4 BNP's being used against a perkless rank 19 trapper, balanced...right?). If anything, you're the crybaby whining about changes that haven't even made it to the official release yet and I sincerely doubt you have 3,000 hours. Funny enough people said the same exact thing about emblems and how it would "end the game" yet here we are today with still roughly the same amount of players on PC if not slightly better. Maybe I am wrong and you do have 3,000 hours, but I refuse to believe the changes will be bad and I for one welcome seeing much more variety and making killers less add-on dependent.
-
As of currently if you prestige a character you get the bloody version of only their default outfit.
-
Simple, the killers chase the survivors down and strap them all onto rockets as they all get blasted into the air and blow up. Pushes a bit on the budget, so you have guts instead of fire but hey, anything goes I guess.

it isn't so hard to deal with ds just use indoring and the survivor increased the chase by two seconds (which will be removed in the next chapter) and when i play against swf i use my nurse and in red rank I usually use hilbilly and hunters sometimes michel. and I played a lot of killer and i understand how gen rush is annoying but these is the only way for survivors to rank up.You see though, my post isn't about how to handle DS, my post is what survivor mains say and do.
I severely doubt you've made it to the high ranks as a killer, but by all means please do try and prove me wrong. Never once in my post did I ever complain survivors were doing their objective, but instead how little they fear the killer, how quickly they can get said objective done and how mindlessly they can be around a pile of wood and be safe. You'd understand my post if you actually read the whole thing. -

This again? This means nothing. If you believe that all your games as killer are against 4 sweaty guys who are only out to make you de-pip and not do anything else...then you are delusional. We all know it's survivor sided when up against 4 survivors who know what they are doing, but that is so rare it's laughable. Killers need to stop whining and learn and become better. I know because I used to moan too.
Again, the "experiment" showed nothing more than an extreme variant of play style, which is an outlier and can't be looked at when balancing a game.
You will have good and bad games. The amount of games where the killer makes mistake, after mistake, after mistake and then proceed to moan and whinge about how unbalanced a game is.... it's pathetic. Take responsibility and learn from mistakes and realise that when you go up against a sweaty squad, it means nothing. Take the L and move on. It's a rarity.
If it's not a rarity for you, you're probably a bad killer.
Speaking as a killer main, this is not as much of a rarity as you make it out to be (though it's not as common as others complained in the past either). For me, this can be as frequent as every 5th game where you run into a team that has nothing but the intent to annoy the killer and trashtalk them and it's even at times unsatisfying to win against them because that's simply not fun even if I won. I will say that I don't think the solution will be to just burn SWF to the ground as I additionally tend to play with friends without malicious intent towards the killer, rather just to have fun which is something I aim to have when I play a game.
The problem is that the game currently promotes unfun gameplay which includes looping for ages, abuse of near-infinites, full meta loadouts constantly as opposed to variety (on both ends), tunneling and BMing (on both ends). Sure you can win but was it fun? To me, there's nothing that's fun about going around a piece of wood and then breaking it, going to another piece of wood and then running around it to break it again, down the survivor and get DS'd, recover and then run around more wood until they get downed again. As a killer, I would like to see more features promote stealth and discourage looping so that in return people wouldn't need to tunnel or camp (well, unless they want to, in which case I can't really help you there).
Yes, you will have both good and bad games but out of how many of them will you have fun? I don't need to win or lose to have fun, I just need a game that doesn't end in 5 or less minutes that also doesn't revolve around some giant building with a million and a half pallets & windows (which, I have nothing against maps with big buildings, I'm just using this as an example). The one thing I've realized by getting to rank 1 and then sitting at the rank 10+ area is that no matter where you are, you're bound to run into the same exact annoyance in a game because most survivors simply just do the same thing meaning that I in return am simply forced to just run the same builds unable to change without the very likely chance that my game would be over in less than 5 minutes.
It's also not like these complaints come without reason, the survivors really don't need all their fancy perks, infact right now I sit at around rank 10 (and still going up) as a survivor without self-care, decisive strike or sprint burst but rather builds to just lose the killer. I'm not saying killers have no blame in the issue at all and I'm not saying I know a better solution to this but this doesn't imply someone is a bad killer as that's simply being ignorant to the problem. Someone like me won't care if they win or lose, they will just want to have some fun with the game without the need to go absolute tryhard.

As others said, the general idea of the diamond stone isn't going anywhere. I mean, it sorta is if other teammates free you out of the trap but otherwise you're now able to use the honing stone for the same thing which means a reduced rarity + a slightly lower price. If you think about it, iridescent stone + bloody coil can still be just as deadly of a combination anyways which would mean you're actually cutting off options no matter what.
In a way, the honing stone could be better because if you think about it, if that person doesn't want to be instadowned then a teammate has to go out of their way to stop doing gens to save someone else before the killer gets them. -
IMO I doubt this will have any major impact on DbD itself. Your biggest concern if anything should just be catching up with everyone else by leveling up and gaining some experience, which in the latest update they've made some changes to make that easier anyways (such as starting perks and basic tutorials with rewards). Basically, if you want to give the game a shot go for it, this shouldn't be a major discouragement for you.

You basically describe what survivors have to do. Please enlighten me and tell me what else you should be doing than trying to not get downed as long as possible. And the only way to do this is to pallet loop (not loot btw). If it was upon you, the survivors should just let themselves get grabbed from a gen as soon as they are found by the killer, but sadly for you, that's not what survivors are supposed to do. That's why you call them survivors, they at least try to. Literally, every killer is crying about looping and juking but I'd really like to know what you suggest us to do instead when being chased. You simply can't stand it when a player is better than you and most killers will get so angry that they won't even leave a player after he outplayed them for 5 minutes straight which is wasting time by the killer himself.
Another point you crying killer mains just can't deny you are wrong about is that argumentation about survivors running around, trying to [BAD WORD] up the killer. You're always worrying about getting genrushed but on the other hand you complain about survs running around, being completely unproductive for their team and useless as long as the killer ignores them.
Now here is a fact: without hex ruin it is pretty hard to have a decent match as killer but you know what's a fact too? You killer mains will never be happy because no matter what the survivors do, you hate about it. If they do gens, it's wrong. If they don't, it's toxic.
Have you ever thought about not raging at every teabagger and instant tunnel him, but playing efficient instead? Accept that there are better players than you are and be happy about, that dbd is a game where you can avoid them and just go find someone who is worse in the same match. You act like you have a right to get a 4 man every match, but the truth is that you haven't got any rights, neither the killer, nor the survs. But killers get all mad after a match without a kill, texting the devs and forcing them to buff killers back to back while survivors have to live with getting camped, patrolled and tunnelled every match over and over again.Maybe play a bit survivor and see how you like it. I bet you don't like to face a 4 blinks nurse, a tunneling freddy, an insta hatchet huntress, Leatherface overall and basically being out after the first hook. Try that rank 1. It's way harder than for killer, especially in the new system.
Good night. Think about it from the other perspective.
I cannot tell you how bias this view is.
In regards to my experience I've made it up to rank 1 as both a survivor and killer, you can try to take the guess as to what I hated trying to accomplish more. (I'll give you a hint, ranking up as a survivor is a walk in the park)As a killer, my problem isn't the fact that people are doing gens, my problem is that the objectives are done so fast that it's impossible to have fun in some matches (especially with brand new parts, yikes) and that's something that never changes with the exception of one specific build for a specific killer I use of which is heavily add-on and even offering dependent which doesn't solve the problem. What you don't realize is that there shouldn't ever be a time where one survivor can outplay a single killer and instead it should be a team effort to accomplish just that but because looping is a thing it's possible to just keep a killer busy all day, all you can hope for is that if you drop the chase that you won't end up with another looper (news flash, nearly everyone loops with the only difference being that some people drop the pallet very early). If someone manages to lose me for once though, great! I applaud anybody who actually makes an attempt to lose me rather than waste my time on something as dumb as looping, anybody who can do that actually has some skill in the game unlike those who only ever loop.
But hey, you want to talk about killers complaining though right? Let's talk about how survivors complain too! You see, just as proudly as you try to call out killers, survivors have the same problem because everyone wants to complain about everything! For instance, if you run BBQ, NOED, Ruin, Nurses calling and even tinkerer (on some killers on some builds), run any half decent addons (or better) or play a specific killer then you're bad and don't deserve the win because the survivors didn't play smart! Not to sound hostile with this paragraph but the truth is that you're highly hypocritical when you say killers complain, but I see way more excuses coming out of survivors that blame their loss on "totem campers", "campers", "tunnelers", "bad teammates", saying that they can't possible lose because their graphics card is their internet (I don't even know anymore with these excuses), "bloodlusting noobs", and the list goes on and on. From my time as both a survivor and a killer I've seen more than my fair share of complaints and survivors by far have made the most ridiculous claims from my own experience. The truth is as well that some survivors do look to just screw over your game by abusing infinites, loop until no pallets are left with on some maps there being little to no opportunity to mindgame (though the game shouldn't be based around looping anyways IMO), full DS squads, exploiting glitches to get into areas you can't reach, you name it but it ultimately leads to a very bad game which is made even worse because of the fact that these people will constantly depip to ruin the experience of both new and skilled killers alike and you're telling me that we're supposed to deal with people who have no fear in the killer and treat them as a joke instead? Lovely.
Here's a fun one, your point about t-baggers. You aren't better than the killer because you can near mindlessly run around a piece of wood, get out of their grasp because you hit a basic skillcheck from DS, abuse exploits or near-infinites and in some cases even infinites (which to my knowledge devs have been cracking down on in the past history, so that's always good). You aren't good because you do an action that requires no skill and never lose the killer, in most cases these are the very survivors that would go down in a chase in just seconds if they didn't have a pallet to run to or an infinite to use, but yet they act toxic because they're in their safezone and they know as long as they have pallets they will be 100% safe and are the very type of players that deserve the most unfun gameplay imaginable because they breed it themselves. The truth here is, I don't even care about how many kills I get, it just better be a fun game is all I'm asking for at the end of the day, if I got a kill or two then great, three? Sure, also great and then four is awesome and I'll definitely aim for it if I see the chance to do so unless I'm feeling nice (for instance if a player looks like they're new to the game, though that doesn't happen much in my ranks anyways). To your last points on this, killers have every right to be mad at the end of the day just as any player has the right to have any emotion at all towards anything, does it mean that it's the right way to approach the situation? Absolutely not, but they have the right to feel just like you're able to bring up how you feel about the game on the forums, it doesn't mean you're right however. In my opinion, I think the devs are doing fine and are bringing this game in a better direction but there are still necessary changes that need to happen to the game, you can call them "buffs" that are being forced upon them to make, or you can refer to some of these as "necessary changes" that they're making because they're actually working on them, your choice.
Let me tell you on these last few sentences though, you want to complain about a nurse having 4-blinks, a Freddy tunneling, insta downing hatchets or a leatherface, a killer you can easily take advantage of with a single perk and some windows or even pallets? Have you ever even thought for a moment to just change the way you play, actually try to dodge hatchets (or at least try to learn), try to lose the killer or even consider that Freddy is considered the worst killer by many and that tunneling is up to the killer themself regardless of who's actually doing it? You should be glad you're even getting games. If anything, I ask that maybe you should play killer and see how you like it after you get into the high ranks or run into a bully squad. Maybe I should ask you about your own addons like brand new parts, insta healing medkits, and well, I can't really complain about flashlights anymore so let's not get into those addons too much. But also don't forget that as a survivor you guys get cheap shortcuts like the skeleton or dull key which you can rarely find in a chest or a bloodweb but still allow you to get out of a game early if 1 or 2 of your teammates die! Perhaps I should also dive into the fact that you guys have decisive strike as well (which is just more of an annoyance more than anything really). Let's also talk about the made up rules survivors always make as well, there are so many that I'd be wasting my time putting them in here.
So, how about this - how about you play as a killer and see for yourself, and before you even go as far as to say you have I would also like to see proof of your highest achieved rank. Playing survivor isn't difficult, infact with no effort each month I end up in the green ranks and then with some actual decent effort i'll end up in the purple or even red ranks even while using a fun build to just mess around with.
-
Dribbling is 100% fine and just as much as it's fine it's also your fault if it happens. Instead of complaining about it, how about you make the most of it and trick people by running sole survivor and don't wiggle until the last dribble. Worth a shot on some killers anyways.
Also, the idea that players like yourself want to bully the killer is sad and does not promote better gameplay on either end and infact only promotes more toxic players in the end. But gee, let's just bully the killer for one of the only ways to counter DS that maybe only sometimes work.
-
Nah, you're forgetting about the part where they got farmed off the hook infront of the killer each time.

THIS, is actualy the only build i see when i'm playing against killers. This tryhard build that force you to take self-care, sprint burst and ######### survivors perks. I'm bored of all of this. I've spend like 1K hours playing the same survivor build Self-care, Sprint burst, Iron will, Decisive Strike (like everyone) and it's kinda boring to play all the same games with the same gameplay. Some extremly used perks need to be nerfed/changed so the players can play different one (and be useful) >_< .You do realize that these perks become a near necessity in order to have a half decent game, right? Most of the time these are all perks you probably won't get much use out of anyways.
Nurses calling? Quit healing if you hear the TR, it's your fault if you get caught.
Ruin? This honestly doesn't have much impact on me as a survivor as I can hit my skillchecks fairly well and even when I couldn't it's just a slight delay. As a killer though, this perk could be gone in seconds or if you're lucky it allows you to actually have enough time to have fun instead of everyone being done in 4 minutes or less and then leaving! On most killers this perk becomes a necessity.
BBQ & Chili? Well, alright on hillbilly and nurse this might be a little strong but what would you rather have? A camper every single game or have the potential to be found unless you play smart and mindgame the killer while also slightly lessening the chance of a camper! On most of my killers I don't use this to see auras (well...unless I'm running PGTW which is really good with that perk) but rather instead for the bloodpoint bonuses because most people I run into don't sit in the same exact area or run in the same exact direction for a year and a half.
Tryhard builds like this are encouraged by the fact that most survivors run the best perks they can get and then this becomes a back and forth issue constantly. Hell, most of the time I don't even run nurse's calling unless I'm also running M&A as I rarely see people heal in my terror radius anyways. In order to play decent as a killer, most of the time you absolutely need to tryhard every chance you get until you finally run into a game where nobody wants to tryhard, only then can you relax.
After nearly 1,100 hours of playing, I've cut down on my use of self-care sometimes by replacing it with pharmacy or instead just go for silly builds that I still manage to survive with. Problem is, the moment we start nerfing perks people are going to want even more perks nerfed, instead of nerfing the decent perks killers have we should instead be buffing the weaker ones so we can see more variety, not less. Same thing can be said with survivor, after DS gets dealt with some other lesser perks should be made more viable which is already being worked on according to one of the Q&A videos made on the DbD youtube channel (For instance, all the exhaustion perks are great and you can actually see some variety in what perks people pick based on preference). You want to talk about tryhards? Look no further than the bully squads that look to do nothing more than harass the killer, look at the 4-man groups that bring in all BNPs and then trashtalk the killer after or even the normal player that doesn't intend on being toxic that in most cases can still get by just fine just by simply using the loadout you have every game. I'm not saying you're wrong when you say these are overused perks, I'm just saying if you want to see more variety then you need to make more things more viable, not less viable. -
This isn't really the fault of the game, it's just the players as they get used to it. As you stated, the game felt really intense when you first got it, correct? In that sense the game did its job right, the problem is that players get used to this game and becomes less of being worried (unless you create challenges for yourself) and more being absolutely focused on achieving your ingame goals because it becomes easier to do with experience, you become more effective at it too.
I feel like the best thing they could do (in my opinion) is add more modes that are in a random cycle for normal games so that people don't get as used to doing the same exact objectives all the time and absolutely always have to adapt to the new playstyles rather than just sometimes having to do so if a new killer comes around. Just my opinion here.

Thank you for your reply and i agree with you. I also use SWF. Its mostly just my girlfriend and i but sometimes we run with 3 and once in a blue moon 4 people. We dont play toxic either and i can agree that its not every group. I just want to see some serious balance changes because even if my group of friends are not aiming to troll the level of information we get for being a squad is unfair to the killer. As a killer i just get fed up with how little power i actually hold in this game. The killer role is supposed to be a position of power. A weakling survivor should not be able to 1v1 a killer in any circumstances yet they can and then when you throw the SWF level coordination into the mix with tryhard survivors you have a killer that is absolutely powerless. Even a god tier nurse can get dumpstered by them. Its sad. I just hope by the end of 2018 we will have a balanced game that will account for SWF because playing killer makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes when i face cancer squads.I completely agree, I think ultimately the game should be in a position where it begins to feel more like a 4v1 and less like one person taking up all your time. The killer should be powerful as this is an asymmetrical game, I feel like teamwork should be encouraged if people want to escape. I feel like the main problem however is the fact that all players in general have been on the same routine every single game with no new objectives to shake it up, nothing in the middle to prevent that early-game momentum either so nowadays we're seeing a game where when you do run into the occasional toxic group they already know everything they need to do and with essentially nothing to really "fear". Perhaps each trial can feel like a unique trial at random to where it breaks the pattern everyone is used to. Thankfully though they're at least looking into some of the more broken aspects of the game such as the vacuum which got removed in the PTB.
-
I see where you're coming from, but I don't believe they should take steps to remove SWF even if partially by limiting the amount of members allowed to join it. The reality is that not everyone fills up their game to have a 4 man squad with the pure intent to be nothing but toxic, this is a rarity out of all players in total. For me when I play the game as a survivor I often play solo but occasionally when I see a friend or two online then I decide to invite them to have fun with them as that's pretty much the point of games - to have fun. I do agree something should be done so that the killers can be better equipped to handle toxic groups or changes in the game that will continue to penalize toxicity or toxic actions and at the same time changes that help those out who play solo so that all survivors in general are in the same level of ability to cooperate so that effective changes can begin to happen. But in general, I just disagree with the idea of removing 3-4 player SWF groups mostly since it's already been in the game for a long time and most people just want a game they can enjoy with their friends.

"totem camping noob" when all 4 survivors were at my totem the entire game.

The doctor in my opinion is a very mediocre killer from my experience and could infact perhaps use some changes whether that be something a tiny bit extra or more add-ons. Doctor is amazing against new players as they're trying to get the hang of skillchecks as doctor has the ability to mess those up and apply pressure to newer players with his unique playstyle and ability to find players fast, but by no means is he overpowered and infact he ends up to be a little lacking once you go into the green, purple and red ranks (ranks 1-12) as people have learned how to adapt to him. For me, I only dread a doctor when he has 3 gens right next to each other as he only becomes an annoyance if I'm against it (or a good laugh if I'm using him*). If you want to counter doctor, you have to change your playstyle just as you would for virtually any other killer. For instance, if someone goes mad then rush over and get madness 1 out of the way so he can't find you fast and then do gens as normally intended. At his absolute worst, he can make gens a nightmare for new players but he falls in the ranks the moment any decent players with knowledge com into play. He can still work as an effective killer, but he isn't a very powerful one once you figure out enough about him. It's basically like the trapper, players who don't know much about him will drop like flies but his strength drops with experience of the game and can only be made so good with the best add-ons.
-
I used to have a similar idea in mind as well, but in my opinion I feel like nowadays I've already gotten the satisfaction of being able to use the killers before others could so at the same time I feel like I would still be fine without getting anything extra. Ontop of this, I feel like with the amount of people who own the original DLCs legacy would simply just lose its charm and its value as it's there to indicate those who were dedicated enough to level up on the old system (which from what I hear would take a lot of time).
If they were to give anybody any rewards for purchasing the DLC I personally think if anything at all, maybe just some shards & auric cells or just a special skin that isn't legacy. I don't really entirely disagree with your idea, but in my opinion I feel like I've already got my money's worth out of these characters regardless of the case and it would kinda feel cheap if getting a legacy skin for a newer character would be as simple as purchasing the DLC before it becomes more available so if they gave anything, I just simply wouldn't recommend that especially considering the fact that they've been up either for over or close to a year to my memory. Just my opinion there.

League of Legends perma bans only the top 0.1% of the worst accounts and they lose everything from ranked to skins even the super rare ones. That should be implemented here as well since it'd be no different than if it was Steam ban, you lose what you paid for because you broke the rules to often. It's generally worked quite well since most people won't screw around when they've not only got money for goodies but also what they've paid for their account involved. Money spent plus time spent in game are great deterrents for not being naughty so to speak.
While everyone has their bad days it seems prior to f2p weekend there's been a huge increase in quitters both killers and survivors. If the devs start punishing people with harsher incomes including losing money spent they'll stop doing it.
As long as there's no real penalty that harsh they won't really care since they'll just hop on a smurf account or wait for the penalty timer to decay. The penalty should be like League does which is if you're on a 15 minute timer you have to be in lobby for that entire time.
Sure, while I do agree some harsher punishment should be handed out I still do not believe this is the right way to go. Just because something works on one game doesn't mean it will work on other games as well. Keep in mind that a lot of the skins people have nowadays (especially when you dive into legacy skins and other special events and/or giveaways) you really just end up causing the game to lose part of its history that people worked for and in other cases even paid for in hard cash. Keep in mind that LoL has a much larger playerbase than DbD (If I remember correctly), DbD is essentially a medium sized game in terms of population and such a punishment like this would do more harm than good.
I will still stand by the fact that people will have their bad days, ragequitting should be no reason to lose hundreds or even thousands of hours of work along with any money spent. Keep in mind, some people try not to D/C but are sometimes simply forced to due to the game being kept hostage in rare but still possible circumstances. People would ultimately be way too afraid to even D/C when one side is preventing the other from doing anything at all, people would find ways to abuse such a system to penalize people who don't deserve to have their progress removed.
If anything, if it becomes difficult to come up with ideas to further punish consistent ragequitters then instead I think it would be a better idea to reward players for good behavior whether that would be in maybe a special skin, bonus points/shards, etc... Think of it this way, if you can't force them to stick around with fair punishments, why not encourage good behavior with rewards instead? (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm also pretty sure the bans associated with disconnecting too often is a percent of your total games and not a timer?)

Like a number of issues, I feel this isn't a one solution fix.
I agree that camping makes the game unfun but the thing is, it has already been mentioned before that camping is a part of the game and the reason why people do it is because it works. The killer knows the survivors will be coming for the hook, what reason would the killer have to leave if they know they can easily secure a kill with this method or once you come into the circumstances where your only option is to camp? (for instance, you hook a person and that hook was right next to the gate)
By all means I think changes should occur to make the game as fun as possible and I can agree with that much but I do not agree with your suggestion to fix camping however as survivors will simply just all sit near the hook and try to distract the killer for as long as they can right infront of their hooked teammate. It's the killers job to get kills by any legitimate means possible just as the same applies to survivor in terms of surviving. Keep in mind that a solid amount of the perks added in the past infact attempt to discourage camping whether directly or indirectly, perks such as devour hope, BBQ & Chili, Make Your Choice and survivor perks such as borrowed time, kindred, unbreakable (well...for slugging I should say, so maybe not this perk) and we'll make it (if you got 6 seconds to spare not counting medkits or other teammates).TL:DR - That's the long way of saying that camping is simply part of the game and it would be hard to come up with a reasonable fix for it.
Also keep in mind, there are a number of tools survivors have access to which make the game unfun for the killer as well, so even if a valid solution were to be made for camping you would also need to focus on those other problems as well. (though I believe either the next or one of the upcoming updates will be a great help for that)

I disagree with this. While I agree it's annoying when people ragequit, everyone has bad games and even bad days which will mean they probably just don't even want to put up with certain circumstances on the game.
Auric cells by from what I heard in the dev stream are a type of currency you obtain by paying in money, people who ragequit too often are already penalized by being banned anyways, why would you want to take away the currency they paid for as well? In my opinion, this would either have no impact whatsoever or worsen the problem when people get excluded from buying the cosmetics they want (or characters) all because they got annoyed. That's just my opinion towards this suggestion, perhaps instead if you were looking to make an idea to further penalize ragequiters you should look at either shards or bloodpoints instead.
