What's with all the post complaining about camping recently??
-
You dont even need PWYF, just learn how and when to start your chainsaw. and what addons to use.

Unless you're a Texas chainsaw massacre fan, he's a waste of time. His power is a big hindrance and is only good for camping. He also relies on good addons and two perks to use his power in chase.
Wait until he get's reworked and actually becomes fun and useful.
I disagree, he is really fun to play . especially if you run PWYF on him. a lot of people dont know how to use him properly .
-
did you watch the Last dev stream? they stated why they havent brought color blind additions to the game.
-
I havent seen a shroud of binding in weeks.

Don’t get hit....why didn’t anybody ever think of that.
The only perk you mentioned there which would be truly effective in that scenario is Unbreakable and that’s a 1 time use.
ironic that you say that... considering that youve said "dont fall for it "In regards to a survivor trying to bait you into grabbing them to hit you with DS and get a free unhook or break your totem.

Care to explain? Just look at the vid man, 1st round only, if you learn to quick scope damn... I'd really like to hear your opinion. The Huntress needs to wind up the axe, this is an insta shot
you also have to take into consideration that this is the PTB and that barely anyone takes the games seriously so we arent too sure how he will play during real games.
I think he needs a slight buff , if you hit someone from afar you get nothing . they will most likely break your chain which is wrong because those shots are harder to hit than close up.

I mean I see a survivor is running towards a pallet or vault, I know a Dead Hard is coming to give them the distance....care to explain how you "bait it out" at that point even when you have correctly predicted it's coming?
if they are doing it for distance there is no way for you to "bait "it out. not sure what the guy is trying to argue.

Why should you be guaranteed the hatch? you failed your primary objective and the killer obviously completed half of theirs.

TBH im amazed that you could actually adept with plague, i can barely get enough points to pip up with her even when i 4k! lol

I had a game last night where i was going for the no mither escape and i ran the killer around for four full gens, he then hooked me. My teammates ran out the doors and left me to die even though the killer was no where near me.

To me, that says that the way the emblem system is implemented is dumb for making DCs such a harsh penalty for the enemy. Also the lack of a proper concession feature.

By default. Make Escaping from Trap apply deep wounds, Sneak attack from Wraith apply deep wound, Clown slow applies Deep wounds, and Plague hitting a sick but not broken Survivor Deep wounds.
This is at least a sort of band aid fix to adjust alot of the over all weaker killers.
I think plague is fine the way she is, especially with the new corrupt fountain update .
-
The only problem I have with freddy is the fact that he is so darn boring to play as and against . sure he is the ideal killer but theres not much too him that keeps me interested .:/
-
If they've gotten 4 gens done then I like to slug them instead of hooking that way they cant get the hatch.

No, the majority of killers is not in a good place. But you can still have great matches even with Bubba and Legion at red ranks, because a lot of survivors who are reds don't actually play like reds. And when you face a skilled team, you feel helpless without Nurse or Spirit.
i would have to respectfully disagree, at least from my experience i have been able to win against optimal teams with legion for example. ( no im not saying he is strong)

I draw the line at Ghostface.
Ghostface himself needs a very small buff. Anyone stronger than him is fine. Anyone weaker than him needs buffs.
Currently the Deathslinger and the new Doctor I haven't finished evaluating.
Of those I have:
Myers, Clown, bubba, pig, legion, trapper, wraith and Oni (not in that order) need buffs.
Plague would be on that list but the buff I wanted is being implemented so she might be fine now.
That means:
Nurse
Spirit
Hag
Demogorgon
Freddy
Huntress
Billy
Are fine.
That's 6 fine Killers, 8 Killers that need buffs and 3 pending evaluation.
how do you think they should buff oni? i find him in a better spot what with him getting most of his flick back.

Trapper, Wraith, Myers, Hag, Bubba, Pig, Clown, Legion, Plague and Demo (demo not as much as the others, but still needs QOL improvements).
i agree with you, all except plague, demo, myers and hag. Hag and Demo are really strong if you know how to use them correctly and hag is super strong if you have a survivor in the basement. Myers has some pretty strong addons but i would agree that maybe he needs more map pressure. and as for plague, she recently got a "buff" i believe the corrupted fountain being there at the beginning of the game will scare survivors into cleansing . this will help take the control of her power from the survivors and giving it back to her.

I say not quite most of them. But it's very close. More like 40% of Killers are in a good place.

Honestly thrilling really is only good for an information perk, i dont understand why it has a cooldown anymore. it pauses gen regression which kinda sucks.

I agree, so where do we start with the game balance? Yupe I know we start with hooks :D
just like old ruin was "unfun" for survivors to play against, teams like this arent fun to to against as a killer because youre forced to slug(another thing survivors say is boring and toxic). which could ultimately steal your kill.

So latest changes causing a lot of discussions
How many Coordinated Sabo coms Team did you face daily? what if there is this one team who plays this sabo strats with Breakout, Sabo, Breakable? are we okay to punish everyone else over it?
Now let me ask another question, how many tunneling, camping, slugging killer have you faced? why is it Okay to have sabo build being nerfed when you'd rarely face this kind of teams comparing to how many slugging, tunneling and camping killers?
I think these changes will effect a minority of players in the game, I play a sabo build maybe once a month! while you face tons of campers, sluggers and tunnelers every day
These changes are not effective in my opinion and unfair
when ruin was nerfed it was cause 80% of the community are using it, while now you nerfing sabo build + toolboxes that would be used only by 20% maybe!
How many "forever freddys " did you face daily ?
how many amazing nurses did you see on a daily ?
how many spirits with prayer beads did you face on a daily?
how many OP legions did you see on a daily?
You see how this works ? I could go on and on.

Idk about those being the only viable killers, I usually play legion and huntress (and sometimes if I'm really bored trapper) and i feel like i do really good. sure I'm not 4king every game but I'm still getting them all to death hook.
I think its really all about the perks you put on the weaker killers . and how you play them, for example since the ruin change I've started to lean towards more of an aggressive trapper build and not setting up as much as I would with ruin .
And as for legion, I like to run slow down perks such as thrilling and pop. I would run thana as well but I dont have it on him yet.

Because, believe it or not, it's possibly more efficient to heal yourself than steal generator time from a teammate in most situations
Ponder the following...
Self care is at 50 percent heal speed, assuming my memory is accurate, that's 36 seconds of heal time.
Having a teammate heal you takes 18 seconds
When 2 people work a generator together, they only work at 90% efficiency each.
So ask yourself - is it better to let your teammate work a generator at 100% effency for 36 seconds or have him off that generator for 18 seconds then the two of you can work the generator at 18 seconds at 90% efficiency each.
By my math, the former actually gets you more generator progress. Generally, I use Bond... and if I see everybody is on a generator or being chased, I'll heal myself. But if somebody is being useless and not doing a generator, I'll seek them out and let them heal me.
or you could do a gen instead of healing ?

It’s frowned upon in every game but those people don’t care about sportsmanship they only care about the win. Hence why people like that are drawn towards NOED.
Iri heads, instasaw, omegablink, old ruin, noed, ebony mori.
You’d get those builds so much. They don’t care how they win so long as they win.
I have came to the conclusion that you are either a troll or a low ranked player on both sides.

It's been on the shrine store several times. Small Game is also free for everyone and gets the job done. Clearly, NOED bothers you so much, so equip small game and go totem hunting? It's not like you have to worry about your team mates not doing gens because ruin no longer slows down the game for the killer in the early game. Small Game will also let you memorize where those tricky well hidden totems are so you won't have to use it anymore once you know of their location.
I play solo survivor and the first thing I do is go totem hunting. Guess what? Gens are still getting done and I don't waste much time anyway since cleansing a totem doesn't take anything. Also, I could find another killer hex along the way and get rid of it.
There's counter play to it. You just don't want to sacrifice a little bit of time or a perk to get rid of it.
you can also bring a map ( even green maps have addons to track totems)

Glad we established that.
I feel like I should clarify, I'm hardly perfect. I make a ton of mistakes, and it's not like I'm gonna be play like a god all the time. Infact, I'd classify myself as a pretty below-average survivor who can chill at high purple to red ranks each season.
But like, come on, many solo survivors can agree that random teammates 9/10 are awful, especially with the matchmaking being flawed beyond belief right now.
And personally, noed to me is just one of my gripes, if you want to use it go ahead, I can't dictate the way you play. However, it is an example of a much larger issue.
oh 100% I only play solo since none of my friends have this game and it's crazy how many times I've been hooked and seen my teammates urban evading around the map or self-caring in a corner .

Wish we played the same games. In the games I get the killer more often than not refuses to step too far from the hook. BT is the best way to get unhooks, if you dont take it in some games then you don't get safe unhooks.
Also DS, it's your only chance because 90% of killers try to tunnel off hook.
what rank are you? I've asked you this in the past and you've never answered me .

Like i said in my opening post, I use detectives hunch frequently in place of ds. Like I said, I use maps when I can, but I only have a limited amount, and when spreading bloodpoints across both sides, I run out of them fast.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1097937#Comment_1097937
I've literally also addressed this. I don't have time to NOT pump out gens solo, because teammates are ass, farm off of hook, waste all resources and STILL die in 3 seconds, whilst blendette is off on the corner cowering in fear, and the obligatory rank 20 Dwight is in the basement lockers. Yet I still try and do totems to get iner strength procs.
In swf, I do gens but significantly less so, and I do totems because I know other people do gens.
Did you even READ my post, mate? The entire point of this post is that noed makes solo hell whilst swf still have easy counters, and that if solo wasn't hell because of it, then people wouldn't complain about noed? Like, come on, please take off your "I SEE A NOED COMPLAINT SO THEREFORE SURVIVOR MAIN" glasses and read, I beg of you.
EDIT: here is my proof ive said that. The large wall of text that is 80% of my post. Have fun.
so your problem shouldnt be with NOED. but with randoms. at least that's what it sounds like , what with you putting all the blame on your random teammates .

There is no time to go find and do bones on many of the maps. Especially preschool, lery's, and Hawkins etc where they are extremely well hidden and you would need dedicated totem finding perks or a map.
There is no way to ensure, as a solo Q, all 5 totems have been done. You would waste probably 2-3 gens worth of time finding them all, for ONE perk that may or may not exist.
Then you hit a red rank billy / spirit / nurse etc who are probably downing people in 30-40 seconds tops unless your team is filled with gods. The good thing in that situation, is that those players are good enough it is extremely unlikely they will be crutching on NOED.
How can you think that is fine for a stock perk to be that powerful?
there is plenty of time , trust me. do totems on your way to gens and after you finish one. and going off your point about not knowing how many are left, RUN A MAP OR DETECTIVES if NOED is that big of an issue for you then maybe you should.
-
@KornySon10 said:

You literally have to be running BT and DS in solo Q if you want a good chance to win at the high ranks. All the sweaty killers are going to tunnel and camp when the games go south, and those are literally the only answer to it.
Otherwise, you can just watch your team die off after they get camped from 2nd hook to dead and there will be nothing you can do about it.
DS is the only thing that might save you from the basement, or getting farmed by your team, or just getting tunneled straight off the hook.
I feel compelled to run iron will as well, otherwise you are literally a free down to any competent spirit; and there's a ton of those at red ranks.
So that's 3 perks gone already. I like having an exhaustion perk so there's no room for crap like detectives hunch.
Maybe you can do left behind key and not care if everyone dies, but I don't like doing that often.
Chests I find worthless, if I want an item in a match I will bring it. Traps? I don't see trapper at high ranks ever.
really? because I'm a rank 1 (well not rn because of the wack rank reset) and I only run BT. and what do you know , I rarely have a tunneling problem. you're obviously either a troll or extremely bias so I'm not going to try and argue with you. have a good day.

Yes run a ton of garbage perks and items every game to counter ONE perk that might not even be in play? Makes a ton of sense.
NOED has got to be the biggest crutch that still exists in this game; outside of some of the downright broken add-ons, mori's, and spirit fury.
Keys? People have to be dead before you can even start using them. It's realistically only going to be a SWF that gets 3 men out at 1 gen left, and they still had to 4 gens and someone had to die.
Adrenaline only rewards you if you win, and even then it's only really going to be useful if you are actively being chased. So the overwhelming majority of the time, it's only going to be useful on a single player. Everyone else gets...a speed boost to the exit gate.
Meanwhile, you can get NOED every single game you lose. And it practically guarantees you can facecamp out a kill or two.
OP killers like Freddy / Spirit don't need 4 perks to 3-4k every game. But you can slap NOED on them and just collect your free kills on the offchance you fall asleep at the keyboard and the survivors actually make it to the endgame.
Also you're forgetting that you as a survivor has control over whether or not noed works. stop pumping out gens and take a minute to do bones. you even get points for it.

Before anyone rushes in to tell you how it's all acceptable and moris are balanced..
There are definitely things in this game that are not "fun. Killer bringing ultra rare add ons and tunneling off hook with an ebony mori.
This is why it's ridiculous to compare the game to something like Rocket League or Rainbow Six with disconnect penalties. There isn't anything in the game there. Those games are just put the ball in the next, or shoot the other person. There's not really anything anyone can do to take the fun out of the game for you.
All the disconnect penalties have done is bring the bugs and issues like this into the limelight. You need your game to be fun for people to keep playing. This is why I said it will hurt the game in the longrun.
just like a survivor finding a key in a chest or the strong as heck window spawning on rancid, getting haddonfield, seeing 2 gens pop in the first minute , seeing the window of iron works of misery spawn in.
you saying "moris and tunneling arent fun " is not a great excuse for DCing, just like killers shouldnt DC for the things I've stated.
If you are DCing because you arent having "fun" then you probably shouldn't play the game. because ultimately you ruin the game for your teammates and the killer.
The disconnect penalties didnt bring out the bugs and crashes , its just an excuse (most of the people not all of them, because I know there are some people who do crash) for people who abuse DCing use.
Also the devs have already said that if your PC is not good enough to run dead by daylight without crashing then you probably shouldnt play it until you fix it.

So, two perks and an ultra rare item in every match is the answer? Nice try.
Any of those alone can help, but you don't know how many are left out there. That is the point I'm making. Merely from a solo player's perspective. I run TotH for extra BP and I constantly see 1 to 2 totems left in groups of solos. Even if they run those perks. If we get a totem counter just to track the BP bonus, why not a perk that does the same but with larger implications for survivors.
Besides, anything that encourages survivors to get off gens and find the last totem or two is great. Slows the game down that much more. I only run NOED in end game builds, so it is pure benefit for most killers who don't run NOED.
you realize theres an addon for green maps to track killers belongings right?
also I never said you had to run both perks. just one . please dont put those words in my mouth. Also, if you learn how totems spawn and the locations they spawn you wont need those items or perks. it's that simple.
-
@Warlock_2020 said:

Could still use a totem counter for survivors. Or a perk similar to TotH that has a totem counter built in. Solo survivors have a much harder time with ensuring totems have been done. A simple perk, or addon to an existing perk, would do wonders. Would truly be no Avenue of complaint then.
