i usually run DS, dead hard, CoH and resilience but i've noticed that sometimes i die and dont get any rank points(it doesnt matter howm uch points you get its all about escaping so i thought hhmmm what is the most skilled build and i think i got it and i wanted to share it with you all... so basically i've started running Diversion, Left Behind(lets you see the hatch), Urban Evasion, selfcare and WOW is my skills going up i escape almost every game now... jokes aside

1st - Do you think MMR should even be in this game?

since it doesnt reflect your skill level at all i mean hiding in a bush and getting hatch = higher mmr while looping 5 gens healing teammates and stuff gives you nothing...

2nd - Do you enjoy MMR?

Now since MMR is in the game do you like it?, or not? maybe it doesnt even bother you why, why not?

Clairvoyance and Sprint Burst are actually much better for this and you can still run better perk choices in the last two slots. Maybe Iron Will and or DS.

The problem with all of it though is Hatch is considered a Draw in terms of MMR. The best way to 'farm' MMR gain on both sides is uh:

Survivor: play in a coordinated SWF with strong perk and add-on loadouts /everyone gen rush and get out asap

Killer: play very well with a slowdown build and proxy camp for hook states/guaranteeing deaths on hook and use the best add-ons possible. OR face camp with a late game NOED build which can very well net 2+ kills and almost always get you MMR and ruin multiple people's game experiences which apparently this game is all about on both sides.

  • I'd rather be tunneled than face camped

    DH is free health state.

BT is gives chance to run next loop against camper and tunneller killers.

DS is gives chance to run away from tunneller killers.

And no, Boil Over garbage perk but we have some good perks does not give you "free health state": Iron Will, Built to Last, Spine Chill, Sprint Burst etc. I would use more fun perks but sadly we need to use DS & BT because without them, you have nothing against camp & tunnel.

    Ty for having common sense.

So you're letting them get a gen to 90% after a tinkerer proc to maybe block the gen for 20s? You know DMS is a thing right this perk is just awful

It's just an idea for possible synergies. I'll just stop suggesting anything since everyone is a buzzkill around here.

  • @jesterkind said:

Thrill of the Hunt: General slowdown perk, even if you don't end up interrupting survivors it makes them waste more time on boons - which means they're not progressing the objective, and they're also not benefiting from boons during that time because they're still setting them up.

Undying: Shows you the aura of anyone trying to bless a dull totem, meaning you can go try to interrupt them, or at least know where the boon is once it's completed. Can be paired with Thrill to make its slowdown last for longer.

Plaything: Sort of a sideways counter, but once a totem is lit by Plaything, only the person it's associated with can interact with it, meaning they have to waste time blessing a hex that may not be in an advantageous spot, or they have to break the totem and can't use it for a boon placement anymore.

We can argue about the efficacy of those counters, but they undeniably exist. Between that and the intended counterplay of snuffing and ambushing, there's not a lack of options- there's just arguably not enough impact from any given one.

My favorite all Hex build to bring is Thrill of the Hunt, Undying, Haunted Grounds and Ruin.

It's absolutely horrid to play against especially if the survivors are all Boon happy. Haunted is really a good counter for it if you ask me since Exposed makes CoH completely pointless.

  • Just don't pay any mind to the doom posters. Only time will truly tell us where the Onryō lies on the overall tier list / how she plays out.

I personally can't wait to play as her and use jump scare / stealth builds to just, have fun. I wish more people played to have fun and didn't mald over the fact that they aren't getting an easy 4k every single match. It's really sad because it's looking to be a really amazing chapter but all everyone cares about is overall viability in the competitive atmosphere.

Don't use merciless storm lmao it's 10x worse than tinkerer

If you're going to use Merciless Storm I'd recommend using it with Tinkerer that way you can force people off the Gen to guarantee the stall. I still think it has great stall potential since it can potentially trigger on all gens at least once.

I'll admit though, I'll probably only use this combination on Artist who can actually interrupt survivors from across the map/through walls to force Merciless Storm in these scenarios

  • What do you think I'm thinking?

I'm just asking if you can prove that use of Hexes completely fell off once Boons were implemented because I don't really see that being true.. Ruin is still popular and powerful so long as it stays up and a lot of killers run Hex heavy builds that punish survivors who cleanse/bless over them what with Haunted Grounds/Retribution.

But again, if there's some kind of hard evidence showing that killers are just not using Hexes at all anymore please let me know/show me. I still use Hexes whenever I'm feeling like it on killer it's literally just up to my mood but I really don't think Boons made Hexes obsolete. Circle of Healing, the problem child, has made hit and run playstyle on killer obsolete but boons for the most part seem like fair trades. If boons could only be used once literally nobody would ever use them so that's just not going to happen or if it does then they will go obsolete.

  • Sorry for proposing a cool synergy idea.

Can someone close this thread please I'm tired of everyone just being rude.

If boons aren't as powerful or stronger then hexes the how come when boons came out hex builds pretty much fell off the map?

Do you have data to back this up

  • My fave fun builds are these:

    Rancor Bully

Save the best for last + Rancor and whatever else in the last two slots

Completely ignore the obsession all match long and instead accumulate STBFL tokens. At the very end of the match kill the Obsession the first time you hit/down them. It's so mean lol

    Jump Scare

Hex: Plaything + Tinkerer and whatever else in the last two slots

A build that can work pretty well on all killers if you want to be jump scare/stealthy. Add Pentimento into the mix to relight broken Plaything totems if you want.

    Mass Hysteria

Dark Devotion + Fearmonger + Play With Your Food + Nemesis

A build centered around finding the obsession and hitting them to proc Dark Devotion. Nemesis helps with this if you really can't find them but yeah, all about transferring your TR to the obsession and then leaving the Obsession so you get a stack of PWYF and can go elsewhere to jump scare survivors. Fearmonger makes survivors on gens blind and exhausted so that they should be caught completely off guard when you do jump scare em.

So because we have a strong killer we're not allowed to have another strong killer? Can there not be more than 1 strong killer released a year or something? And my complaint wasn't about Sadako (despite her needing an extreme buff) it was about the idea killers being bad and not viable is perfectly okay.

Not every single killer can be S tier.

There will always be characters in games that are "the worst" or simply "lower tier" than others. You could argue that every killer in this game pales in comparison to Nurse since she's in her own tier. Not every killer can or should be on her level.

Also again, it's too early to tell where exactly Sadako will fall on the tier list. I don't care if Otz says she's low C tier, I'll wait for dedicated Onryō players to show us just what she's capable of in the next month or so to come. Y'all need to calm down with the crazy projections as well as doom and gloom. Seriously it feels like there is no pleasing killer mains.

  • @kate_best_girl said:

I keep seeing people say "Killers being C tier is perfectly fine!" And I can't help but wonder why you'd think that? Killers being at C tier literally cannot win and seeing as you're forced into constantly being matched against people who are great at escaping specifically you (MMR) I don't see why its okay for a killer to be in a bad position. Wasn't the standard previously "Every killer should be A tier."?

We literally just got Artist who is pretty comfortably a high A to S tier killer.

Onryō is still on PTB. Literally chill out.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Dragon's Grip will never be amazing. It almost was on pre-nerf Wraith, but now we don't have to worry about that, do we?

Literally just early drop pallets, that is if the killer actually has time to come back to you.

That's why utilizing it with another perk makes it better.

You're making it sound like every survivor is capable of looping for 5 gens and you'll never get a hit on them?

  • Generators will be done no matter what it's just an inevitability. If you want to delay that as much as possible I personally recommend gen freezing perks such as Dead Lock, Corrupt Intervention and the new Dead Man's Switch. The new perk from Sadako: "Merciless Storm" will also be quite nice if you fancy gen freeze.

Otherwise your only real options are Ruin Undying which is risky due to Hexes and requires constantly pressuring Survivors off of gens or utilizing regression perks like Pop and whatnot. My personal favorite is Pop and other perks that incentivize you to go after other survivors and rewards you for HOOKING. Pain Resonance is amazing too and the upcoming Brine perk from Sadako is also going to be great especially when paired with Dragon's Grip. I'm telling you all right now, Brine + Dragon's Grip + Pop has some disgusting potential and let's you snowball pressure off of downs / hooks.

  • What I don't understand is how mmr and pips aren't like, related. One would think that doing well in all categories and trying to do everything to win/contribute towards winning would be comparable to the mmr but no.

That one devs opinion comparing dbd to hockey still just makes no sense because dbd is an asymmetrical 4 v 1 and hockey is literally a team vs team game like child.. I just don't understand it at all 😭

Killers should be incentivized to go and do everything for maximum mmr / pip gains not just farm for hook states/kills to guarantee mmr. Survivors should be incentivized to do a little bit of everything for maximum mmr/pip gains so that everyone is encouraged to be a team player and help each other survive instead of play overly selfish and go for hatch escape at the end. But yeah, here we are in a bad place with current mmr. Just face camp with dead lock and an end game build and you can do well with any killer 🤓

  • I feel like for people who genuinely want to get away from the killer, Parental Guidance is a must have. It pairs so well with DS, Smash Hit or Head On and I'm assuming even off of something like Blast Mine (Needs testing)?

Even off of plain pallet stuns this will be super useful, don't even need Smash Hit imo but it definitely helps. I think people are sleeping on this perk tbh

  • Her perks are actually really good. Brine doesn't seem to have a cool down at all and if that's the case it's going to be incredibly good.

As for her herself it's too early to say. She seems pretty fast. I know she definitely gets a mobility boost after teleporting to TVs and manifesting/demanifesting doesn't slow her down at all unlike Wraith cloak/uncloak but she also doesn't get a speed boost from that like he does.

And oh yeah, she has slowdown in the form of the video tapes. If survivors don't do the mechanic then they can eventually be mori'd like Pyramidheads final judgment (It's really cool, it's a unique animation from regular mori too).

She may not seem strong right now but it's way too hard to gauge that as she's still PTB lol. She's extremely unsettling and terrifying in chase though, I love it. Also happy to have another stealth killer

  • Oh, another complain about DS thread

  • @AetherBytes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2809884#Comment_2809884

You've got to realize that this only takes effect if a boon is in play and can be countered just by not using boons. And if no one is running boons its worthless anyway.

That's a rather big if. I'm not a big fan of perks that are designed specifically to counter another perk/type of perks.

I see what you mean though.

  • If a killer stays within 8 meters of a hooked survivor for 30 seconds (Half of a phase) then why not grant that survivor like 15 seconds of extra time for that phase?

This could trigger again on second phase too as a small penalty for legit face camping someone and not leaving the immediate vicinity around them. Idk if it would even solve the problem though, bubbas gonna camp no matter what.

Aside from all this I think Kinship should be buffed. It's our only option in the face of face camping and even then it's not very effective unless you're in a coordinated swf. I feel like if you equip Kinship it should work on OTHER survivors on hooks so you can pause their timers. Heck, make it work both ways maybe like Kindred.

Otherwise it would be nice if the person being face camped received Distraction points and or Boldness. Maybe some consolation Objective points any time a gen pops while they're hooked and the killer is holding their hand.

It's sad because BHVR keeps adding incentives in the form of perks to leave the hook and go after other survivors but killers don't seem to want to do any of that when they can just equip Deadlock, NOED, No Way Out etc and get easy kills

And I get it, killers are unhappy lately about a lot of things. I'll agree that CoH STILL needs nerfed more. Kicking generators by default needs to be buffed desperately. Base regression is a joke. I get it but face camping is really sad to see, especially when killers are tailoring their builds specifically for it and getting away with 2/3k+ like I just don't get it, when I play killer I use the myriad perks that REWARD you for leaving the hook and hooking everyone and actually enjoy chasing people instead of sitting in one spot all game long?

  • Up to 3 tokens?

Up to 3 relit Ruins? I guess just bring back the old Undying at that rate.

I'm not opposed to a perk like this but it should only work once per trial or have a prerequisite. Potentially reigniting a powerful hex is kind of nutty.

But again, this proposed 3 token system would automatically make it better than current Undying which is kind of ridiculous.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

Just trying to do my dailies/knock out rift challenges and playing killer is like pulling teeth. I literally just got done playing bloodborne NG+ and it made me less frustrated than trying to get 3 survivors to step in traps before the game was over.

Oh boohoo, at least you can't be face camped to death on your first hook as killer and basically not get to play a match.

Each to their own opinion, it's just an opinion, nothing more. no need to write a book and say im wrong just cause he is your main :)

They offered valid counterpoints to your argument. Granted everyone is entitled to their own opinion I have to say their post was very insightful as someone who (Personally) can't stand playing against Trickster.

  • Monstrous shrine doesn't really need buffed in its current state it just encourages basement camping by making it happen a little bit faster.

I'd love to see it reworked somehow to shift it away from that though.

Territorial imperative idk. Make it reveal aura of survivors who are in the basement, like a constant aura reveal and linger for a few seconds when they leave the basement too. Even then it wouldn't necessarily be that good lol

  • Hangman's Trick. Be honest, you forgot this existed until the recent rift challenge

  • Nurse because she really has no business being enabled like ever.

And Leatherface because his face camping is unfair.

  • Shouldn't this go in feedback/suggestions?

  • Same except survivor side. Literally every match is face campers on first hook.

Neither side is fun to play lately so I've been just not playing LOL

  • The fact that they haven't disabled this map already is unacceptable. You have a body blocking exploit as well as uncleansable totems.

    Please get it together BHVR

  • @Pulsar said:

There's an un-cleansable totem on RPD. We should disable it too

    Can we disable RPD permanently?

  • @BoriskyTheFox said:

Yeah i feel like the number of people who play with friends increased. And i cant blame them. Playing with friends is the logical choice since the game is becoming more killer sided every day.

This. I try to play with a friend but the other two randoms we get kill themselves/DC the first chance they get. Afterwards they turn out to be red rank 1 survivors like, really?

And meanwhile killers just face camp the remaining players aka me and my friend. I really don't want to play survivor anymore unless I play in a group of 4 friends so that we all know we have each other's back and won't quit at the drop of a hat. Even being face camped in a group like this I don't mind because at least I don't feel like I'm wasting my time.

Legit have been not playing this Rift lately because I just get face camped almost every single match and I have officially given up.

  • If a killer is going to body block you in like that they should hit you or down you. Them waiting for the other 3 survivors to complete all gens and leave and even then force you to die via end game collapse is sad. No respectable killer main should be defending that behavior either.

Seriously, something needs to be put in place for killers AFKing

  • Biased survivor main here and even I have to say no. Nurse players who can use her effectively deserve to be able to break the game over their knee. That's just how this works, she's the most difficult to learn killer for a reason. While I understand your points, this would be a step backwards for a killer. Imagine if they reverted Hag's teleport mechanic to how she was at launch when she couldn't instantly teleport and get a hit with perfect timing like she can do now? It would just be unnecessary going back and making killers less fun and more archaic and clunky.

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

Can someone please advise me how I could have performed better here? 2 downs with corrupt/ruin up and still lost a gen. Make it make sense please and thank you.

    https://youtu.be/pxCBPx1H2g4

Corrupt intervention doesn't stop survivors from working on gens that are not blocked off and Ruin doesn't regress gens unless you actively pressure survivors off of them.

    This isn't hard people

  • @AngyKiller said:

I was unaware 'facts' and 'the truth' are stupid.

Then again; There is a large number of Survivors who insist every Killer can magically camp the hook AND every totem spawn at the same time. It's almost like they are trying hard to push this false narrative (IE: Lying) that camping somehow magically grants unstoppable 4Ks so they can cry and blubber for nerfs. 🙃

Two people have already typed out the math for you my guy. I think you just don't want to accept the fact that a face camping Bubba with a late game build and something like Deadlock to make camping someone to death even more effective, is unfair since it literally guarantees 2+ kills assuming the player is not a complete potato.

My bad though, everyone should just automatically be expected to loop him for 5 gens and face camping as a killer who can insta down multiple survivors with one use of their power is completely fine.

  • This has been happening to me too. I bounce between ash and bronze and I'm not the best but I always go up against red rank 1 killers and then have one or two red rank 1 survivors I get paired up with and the rank 1 survivors kill themselves immediately on hook or DC and then the killers face camp like no joke this happened all day today and I finally just quit and went to play a different game.

  • The worst is when your teammates kill themselves straight away and the killer proceeds to face camp the next survivor they catch. Like it's already a loss for us but face camping just further ensures an easy 2k+ lol

Solo queue has been beyond depressing lately, almost every match has face camping for me and the part I don't understand is they're all red rank 1 killers like I thought killers weren't supposed to get very far by face camping?

I guess if you want to get to rank 1 killer just face camp and use a late game build with NOED. I'm going to try this myself since it seems every killer is doing it these days and as long as they're getting solo queue survivors they'll just consistently wipe them. Even against swfs face camping + NOED can and usually does result in 2ks since gen rushing doesn't allow time to get all 5 totems. I understand that killers want the capability to secure a kill but it's the fact that there's nothing at all survivors can do against that other than "do gens faster and leave and let them have it".

If Alchemist's Ring is rewarding the killer for playing well, why is that a bad thing? I'm not against add-on rarity changes, like why is Iridescent Blight Tag a pink instead of a purple or green?, but I'm against getting rid of good add-ons as we know them because weaker survivors can't win against them.

Imagine if Spirit had an add-on that completely gave you back your power when you hit someone with a Grudge attack coming out of Phase.

That's what Alchemist Ring basically does and the fact that it has zero downsides is why I and many others find it unfair.

Alchemist Ring could be nerfed and Blight would still be completely fine. I'm not against killers having some impactful add-ons but the way Alchemist Ring functions currently it should be an iridescent add-on. The fact that it's a purple with no drawbacks is insane.

  • My only problem with NOED is how it's usually used by killers who face camp their first down. They guarantee their first hook as a kill and then go for someone else and attempt another face camp kill in the end game with NOED. Especially prevalent among Leatherface players since they have the means to face camp and force the other survivors to abandon their teammate on the hook and rush out gens. If you're rushing out gens you don't have time to cleanse all 5 totems for NOED. It creates this sort of unwinnable situation where the killer can almost always guarantee a 2k or more thanks to face camping + NOED.

With end game builds this becomes even more powerful and it's not fun for the person on the hook or anyone really. I really just wish one of the two would be addressed. Face camping as Leatherface or NOED but the combination is obnoxious and it's sad that it guarantees kills at any rank so long as they get a single down.

  • Just use Dried Cherry Blossom it's literally better and purple rarity instead of iridescent like the old father's glasses used to be.

  • Are we just making predictions of this happening in the future or was Haddonfield confirmed to be next realm up for a rework? Curious to know as I don't keep up well with updates and news.

  • I think it would be a cute thing when they implement a new charm available to everyone. Unlock this new charm and wear it for a small BP bonus for the first week or so / until that charm is no longer available.

For mere bloodpoints this seems harmless enough, we're talking about one charm slot out of three lol

  • Hag

    Pound of Flesh

A grotesque chunk of Lisa's flesh, carved from her by the cannibal villagers. It contains a deep, malevolent energy.

Decreases the Hag's total trap count from 10 to 3

Survivors who trigger a Phantasm trap suffer from the Exposed status effect for 3 seconds.

    Pig

    Reverse Bear Trap 2.0

A technically advanced version of the Reverse Bear Trap. It shares many similarities with the original but is more stable and consistent.

Decreases the total number of Reverse Bear Traps the Pig starts with from 4 to 2

Reverse Bear Traps placed on Survivors are active immediately.

I'll give you a scenario in that case so you do see something wrong 2 megs wearing the same outfit and 2 fengs wearing the same outfit have the pairs always be together and always healing eachother one of them gets killed and you get accused of tunneling

Because that's what the toxic portion of the survivor base is going to do if names are hidden until post game

Who cares if you get accused of tunneling???

  • I mean, ngl I don't see anything wrong with the killer not being able to see survivor usernames until post match. Currently, if a killer wants to dodge because they recognize survivor names that they don't want to play against, they can and I think that's cheeky.
