Please take the time to watch the whole clip (2:27) and try to understand what he's saying. Try to find out why that statement and the (later) released SWF mechanic don't really fit well together. Thanks for taking your time and have a great day everyone!.
SWF was brough into the game on 14th July 2016 and this interview was at Pax West in September between 2nd and 5th.
All this video says is they seemed have underestimated how much comms would be used and how it would affect the game.
@powerbats said:
What they want to do is give bond as a base to solo since realistically that'd put them on par with SWF and as far as totems go they'd prob get a totem counter on bottom of screen. After that it's easier to buff killers to that level.
That wont do anything as for one bond has a limited range and it only shows someone running not why, SWF can say "the killer is at the shack" "he is on me do gens" "I see him at the harvester", looking for someone to heal you again swf "I am at the shack" I am upstairs on the gen" so they run straight there, where as solo you need to move around and find someone, a totem counter also means nothing since again SWF can say how many are done but also the biggest factor is where the totems are, as you can see the information you state doesnt close the gap at all its just a false way to try and handle the bigger problem.

Well they did say they're want to buff solo q up to swf level information wise and then buff killers up to that level accordingly. They also want to hide perks until the game is over and one thing that'd be nice is spectating would be on a say 10 second time delay.
Also as I stated before there's no way this got done in 13 days to add swf it just wouldn't happen that fast because it'd had been buggy asf on launch.
To be fair they have been trying that and its not working, the gap between SWF and solo just stays intact or gets wider, each new aura or notification not only buffs solo but it gives SWF much more information to share.
I am not a fan of any of the notification given or aura perk added after BBQ, I personally think it ruins the game and is akin to leading someone by the hand to an objective making it become more and more boring, I miss the days where we had to think if we were exposed, work out if they had lullaby or ruin, actually hunt and be aware of our surroundings using our knowledge of the game, now it is best be careful he has NOED, thats the totem destroyed, there they are, yes SWF know this already but to change the game in such a way makes it a bit mundane as your not actually thinking you are being told.
I do not think any amount information they try and give can ever change how much SWF is stronger than a solo player, the devs do seem to underestimate just how much of an advantage them using comms and being able to coordinate before and during a match affects the outcome, solo players will never have the knowledge of what someone else is thinking and thats just one part of the problem.
For it to even become close a solo player would need to know what totems have been done and where they are, what pallets have been used, where each survivor is and the killer at all times, where the gens are, what ones have been done and how far along they are, this is just within the game and I am sure there is many more, this just shows how broken SWF is and how much the game would change for the worst.
Its why I think they need to look directly and SWF and nerf them, instead of them wasting time trying to fix parts of the game which arent broken, go to the source and fix what is.
Yeah I do agree they had SWF planned for a long time, the infastructure had to be in place or it would have taken a lot longer as we know how slow they were at the start.
-
It doesnt matter why SWF was not in the game from release the only thing that is relevant is it has been confirmed as a feature they always intended to implement, the reasons why are just speculation on the playerbase part.
In the end this change is designed to help with the longer queue times, so many posts regarding waiting 20 minutes plus for a game is the reason for the change nothing else.
SWF is part of the game and everyone needs to accept that or not play it's a choice, dodging has never been acceptable for any reason other than ping, does anyone honestly think the devs were happy about all these dodgers? Is it actually any worse than someone who dc's when they dont like the match/killer/add-ons in the game?
Yes SWF is the most unbalanced part of the game and hopefully with less dodgers they can get stats to show this via lots of killer lvls not just the best who will play v them anyway, finally they may see the whole problem and directly nerf SWF instead of changing the whole game around them. -
The answer has been given, it's not bannable.
The reason being the clown is simply in essense doing the same as the old facecamping by completely preventing the unhook, you will still die and if the others were smart they would do gens and get out, the game is still progressing so its not bannable.
The only thing bannable is blocking someone in the basement or in a corner so they cannot get out which is holding them hostage, it also has to be done for a prolonged period of time, blocking to run out BT or the pig making sure your head explodes does not count, basically if you can die it's ok if you are stuck with no way to progress the game it's not. -
1 - Thats what I said it should not open I agreed
2 - If the hatch spawns before the gates are opened the killer is already stronger than those they are playing against so the 4K should not be guaranteed, it should be hard to get and removing the possiblity would make a 4k the norm as no lone survivor will be able to do 3 gens to get out, I never aid camping was the answer its just a part of the game where the killer can ensure 4 cant escape.
3 - Standoffs yeah do favour the survivor, its needs reworked to be of equal chance, I agree it should never be one sided as it is and its why I dont bother with the standoff, the ideas they have come up with so far just dont work, maybe remove the hatch and simply open the gates, the survivor becomes exhausted so no second chances with DH or SB etc and give the survivor 60 seconds to leave or they close again, there is then a 50% chance as killer you pick the correct one, they may also need the gates spawn to be modified so they dont spawn too close to each other.
-
Spirit fury is a mind game and anti looping perk, it doesnt take skill to use it as it just does what it does but it does make the survivor have to think about how much they loop and drop pallets early if they dont want hit,.
-
@Wolf74 said:
So tell me some things:
1. Why does the hatch open if other survivor already escaped?
2. Why do the survivor have a mechanic that avoids 4K matches, but the killer has no mechanic that avoids 4 escapes?
3. Why is the stand off in complete favor of the survivor?1 - To let someone who isnt near a gate escape? seems a bit silly so I do agree 100% with this, it should close if any of the gates are opened.
2 - Technically a 4K should be hard to do it should never be the norm, in terms of balance 2 die 2 escape, the killer actually does have a mechanic to use and it is the complaint you will see a most from salty players called camping.
3 - The standoff is just a silly term used by salty stubborn people who simply wont let it go, yes the hatch is in favour of the survivor and it is being worked on but anyone who stands there for a prolonged period havign a standoff out of shear stubborness instead of just moving on to the next match only has themselves to blame, personally I just hit them or jump in and let them grab me if they so wish.
-
Could be a take on the movie Split, seems like the killer could be fun if the speculation is on the money, it all depends on the abilities of course, I am excited to see what they come up with.
The only thing I dont want them to do is make it so a killer can pretend to be a survivor, while its really nice in theory and would be so much fun it only works via solo players, SWF negate any killer who can do this so here's hoping its nothing to do with that.
-
Camping killers will only pip if the others feed them, you should always do gens and get out asap in that scenario, the only one who should depip is the first one hooked, the others including the killer should all at least safety pip.
-
Nothing in the game makes sense from being hit with a chainsaw and being able to recover from an 8ft tall person trying to kill you walking around and never running, its a game it doesnt have to make sense it just has to be enjoyable.
The hatch is not the same as the exit gates it is treated as a seperate way of escaping and does not adhere to the same rules, nothing should stop you escaping via the hatch apart from the actual killer themselves.
-
If they did this they may as well make SWF a seperate queue, killers or survivors that dont want play with SWF in a match could just derank staying out of the zone.

I think you've misunderstood me. I never suggested that NOED was a bad perk, that it is overpowered, or that the fact that it takes time to counter is a bad thing. I think it's great, actually. I was just contesting your suggestion that it realistically takes 70 seconds to cleanse all the totems, because it actually takes a lot more than that. Yes, you often see totems around the map. That doesn't mean that you can find all 5 easily. You might only see 3 or 4, and spend ages looking for the rest. Just because totems are visible doesn't mean you can just go from totem to totem taking them all out with ease, because you might know where 1 or 2 are but you have to search for the rest, while being stealthy so the killer doesn't find you. It takes time.
And as I said, it doesn't actually matter much in terms of efficiency whether or not everyone is cleansing totems, because even if others have cleansed some, you don't know that, so if you want to make sure they're all gone you have to go around and find each one anyway to make sure it's gone (plus they're not as easy to see when they're already broken). And that takes more time. Which, again, is not a bad thing necessarily, but it's incorrect and dangerous to think that NOED takes no time at all to counter. The counter is simple and easy, but in reality it isn't quick. That's all I'm saying.
If you still aren't sure what I'm talking about, imagine that I said "well it only takes a maximum of 120 seconds to kill a survivor, so your games should only last 480 seconds at a maximum. I mean, how often do you see other survivors when you're in a chase?" Obviously it's not exactly the same thing, because survivors are sentient and mobile unlike totems, but the point is, moving around the map takes time. Locating and chasing down survivors takes time. Hooking them isn't the difficult or time-consuming part, so it's silly to act as though that's the only part worth mentioning. Similarly, the difficult and time consuming parts of totem cleansing aren't the actual cleansing but moving around the map, stealth, and locatinig totems. There's a lot more to it than just that 70 seconds.
Sorry yes I misunderstood a bit, I am in agreement that NOED can take a lot of time to remove, totems take 70 seconds to cleanse not factoring in finding and moving to them, but thats not to say its hard to do, it could take 3 times as long in the grand sceme of things, I do however still stand by my statement of which it can be taken out the game very quickly if each survivor simply did each totem they saw when they had the chance too, I also think for the most part in most of the maps we will all see a totem if spawned accross the map within the first 30-60 seconds of the game starting and thats not actively looking for them, that is just moving towards our objective of doing gens.
-
@Fibijean said:
Even if everybody cleansed them, it would take a lot more than 14 seconds out of the game. You're not factoring in the time it takes to find them at all. Some totem placements are better than others, and some maps are easier to find them on than others. But in most cases regardless, it still takes time to look around and find them, while also trying to avoid the killer if they're nearby. Or if you get found, which usually happens to someone within the first 30-60 seconds of the match, that's time that you're not cleansing totems as well. Even if no one gets found and they all make totem cleansing a priority, they still waste time finding the rest to make sure that they're all gone, because without SWF and third-party VC they have no way of knowing how many totems other people have cleansed without checking for themselves.
So if all the survivors collectively spawned within view of all 5 totems and cleansed them straight away, plus they were a SWF 4 man and could then tell each other that they'd all cleansed totems, and they weren't interrupted by a killer like nurse or hillbilly (i.e. huge map presence) during that time, then MAYBE it would take as short a time as you say. But that's a fantasy situation, not the reality for most games.
Yes what I was stating is it takes 14 seconds for each one, the best case scenario is each one a survivor runs past gets cleansed, that is only 70 seconds to cleanse all the totems, its the equivalent of almost doing one gen and it only takes away 14 seconds from each survivor with one being 28 seconds.
Of course they have to use a few seconds running to the totems they see and if the killer finds them they can lose what progress they may have done but let me put it this way, in doing this objective you do not let the perk activate, it saves someone going down at the end game so easily, it saves the time in everyone or maybe just one trying to find NOED at end game, the time taken within the match saves the time at the end, of course you could just leave the game but most do not and that is why it is complained about so much.
You actually hit the nail on the head, of course it wastes time and that is the pupose of it being a totem, the fact that you have to take time of gens means it is working as intented, numerous times I have cleansed 3 or 4 totems per match only to find NOED activating, guess what happened? 1k turned into 3k and those players complained the killer was a noob for using it in the end game chat, who was actually the bad player in that scenario?
My point still stands apart from Lery's and The Game how often do you actually run around doing gens and not spot a totem within 30 seconds? i would say its very rare that you never pass any unless you spawn right next to a gen and start on it instantly.
The reality for most games is that a lot of players just dont do them, NOED is in essence a totem to give survivors what many people have been asking for, another objective for survivors to do, of course it can take time but thats the whole point, dont take the time and you risk the perk activating, its a choice you make.
Would you prefer it went back to be the original way? NOED used to be perma at the end game when the game first came out, now it has an actualy counter its just people refuse to use that and then blame the mechanic or the player.

@twistedmonkey While I agree that NOED doesn't need a nerf, I think you're seriously underestimating the cost of countering it. The time cost isn't how long it takes to cleanse all the totems, it's the time it takes to find all 5, and if multiple people are cleansing, the time it takes to say, cleanse 3 and then find the other 2 broken ones to confirm that they are, in fact, broken. Takes several minutes at least, if you're lucky. More often it takes at least half the game, assuming you don't have a perk like small game to help. Obviously it's quicker then, but most people don't run small game.Personally I don't think i am underestimating anything, now if you apply it to one survivor only then yes it can take a long time and I think the case for it taking a long time with everyone looking only applies to certain maps like Lery's or the game, most other maps you will end up walking/running past a totem to get to a gen, how often have you saw someone on a gen and a totem right beside them?
The overall problem is not everyone actually cleanses them and i find it is generally those people who don't cleanse them that complain, the only issue is if you are the only one doing them is you can not tell if others have ignored then which is probably more than likely the case, if you are running around the map the chances are you will always see one or two totems at least (again apart fro Lerys or The Game), the fact is NOED is designed to slow the game down and to stop survivors just sitting on gens or be punished at the end game which it seems to do a pretty good job of.

Cote comically calling Ochido a jerk on stream pretending it came from the panda was so funny.

Delete this thread, seriously if every survivor cleansed the totems they saw it is 1,10s as each takes around 14 seconds, if everyone did at least one thats no time at all, dont complain about perk you are in control of and instead of sitting afk on a gen rushing to end game, NOED was change to a totem perk for a simple reason, not to gift killers a win at the end but to take you off a gen for a few seconds to help prolong the game.
-
A few did of late when the beta was on here and on the steam forums, its just this place is better moderated at times.
It happens when anything comes out which is even remotely similar comes to the market, they are completely different games, last year you need team work and coordination to escape.
-
Always keep in mind you are under no obligation to save anyone, in reality the other players are not your team mates they are just other players you may want to protect at times for you own benefit as the more alive the more chance you have of escaping.
You have to play it smart, if the killer camps do gens as it punishes them for doing the deed, you can almost be certain they will also go straight after the hooked person in that scenario so if you want to risk it wait until they are almost at the struggle phase or you are giving the killer more time.
At end game and once the gates are opened I will go for the risky saves if I have managed to do enough throughout the game, it all comes to down to a personal choice, if I can save I will if its risky and going to reward the other side I wont, much like If I am on the Hook let me be and do the objective, dont let my sacrifice be in vain, use it to your advantage and get out of the match asap.
-
How was the ping in the game? ping can have a impact on any mechanics like this as the game could register you on the ground where as on your screen you are still in the air.

This post needs deleted, for one this is not the place to push racist agendas.
Two if they left Claudette out they would be called racist, they leave her in and they are being called racist as it's akin to black face, cant you see the problem? the latter is treating every original character exactly the same way, this is the most non racist thing to do.
Three the people who see this as racist are actually the ones who are racist, sorry but you can't be treated equally and then keep trying to seperate yourselves when it suits your own agenda.
It's time to look in the mirror and see a human, not a Black, White, Asian person etc, just a human who goes out in the world to try and do the right thing, creating this separation doesn't help it makes it worse and by making mountains out of mole hills like in this scenario, you actually hurt the great work others have done over the years as you cause more divides.

Yes it happened well over a year ago when they upgraded the unreal engine

This Discord has been around for over a year, actually.
I heard BHVR made a new Discord though that is the TRUE ‘Official’ DBD Discord. This is the largest DBD server, yes, but it isn’t the Official one.As far as I know at least.
They haven't made a new Discord, they made the existing one official and will support them now.
-
Freddy rework probably wont be this year they said, like the above poster its not just a simple change to Freddy, each map and perk for example needs to be made sure everything works with his changes, its not as staright forward as many think.
With that being said they have been using the PTB more over the past few months than they ever did so it that has gotten better, the problem with the PTB of course is luring people in, the last one seemed to not lure streamers in compared to the others, probably as most are survivor mains.

The devs dont even play their own game. The game is targeted towards a younger audience and usually everyone speaks english besides from a fwe russians, usually they throw english insults at me after the game

Sure, then let them buff solo up to the SWF lvl and buff killers, I can tell you already now that this will lead to a huge disaster
Well they do now and again but I am sure its for show only, I do understand that and you are probably right and lots of people would speak English but I just dont think its right to say they need too, especially if it means they will not have as good an experience if they dont or cant.
I agree the devs buffing solo to try and match SWF will never work, its a recipe for disaster and each time they try they just dumb down the game all the while buffng SWF at the same time.
For a player to be on par with a 4 man SWF team in game they would need to bascially see the killer at all times, see all the totems if someone else saw them, know where the pallets are on the map and which are not broken, what progress has been done on all gens around the map and where they are, this of course can and should never happen, it also still does not account for them pre planning before the match starts.
Everything they are tyring to do right now removes more nad more of the not knowing which to me is a huge part of this game, only SWF with comms truly breaks that, well along with some of the silly aura perks they have introduced over the last few months, it used to be more fun when you had to think without being led by the hand.

@Master said:
Straw man argument? Nah it just shows how fast the devs change their opinion. They also claimed that the game originally was designed around solo play and they claimed that for 2 years. Now they stated the opposite...

I am form germany and so far, I have never spoken german in the ingame voice comms, no it has always been english and the other players spoke english too.
Yes a solo survivor refusing to use voice comm will naturally be in a disadvantage, but as I already said. Thats ok, if you dont want to play competitively tahts up to you, but it cant be rela that killers are disadvantaged just because solo survivors dont have the possibility to communicate.
And yes even if we had voice comms ingame, the advantage you get from coordinating before game / choosing premades and all that stuff is so big that other games even introduce different ranked queues for premade teams.. But we gotta start somewhere, voice comms should be a no brainer as long as SWF can use dsicord
Of course its a strawman, you are using another scenario as if it should apply to this one, the devs actually never claimed the game was based on solo play it was the playerbase that has always said that, they just recently confirmed SWF was always planned, now what is possible is they had no idea of how comms would break it due in to inexperience.
It really does not matter about your personal circumstances as that is down to you no one else, your own circumstances are irrelevant as you chose to do it while forcing someone to do it or lose out is completely wrong, a change must be done for all countries in the world, if not why even make changes in the game for the text for other languages? this is due to not everyone speaking and reading English, it seems even some of the devs struggle with English seeming to come from a French part of Canada.
Exactly you just confirmed the problem, I am sorry but it is not ok for someone who purchased a game without voice comms to find out 2 years, 1 year, months whenever really down the line that it is now balanced around voice comms so use it or be disadvantaged.
Most of the games you refer to are more than likely not asymmetrical or they have been built from the ground up to add it so people knew what they were getting into, they are equal players on each side, people have asked for SWF to be seperated for a long time by killers who want to opt out of it, can you see the problem with that?
Take one example of a game with voice comms with a toxic community, Friday the 13th, do you realise how many trolls that game had and how many complaints about mic abuse were being posted? this game has a n even more toxic community and no one should have to stop playing a game to mute someone due to some pubescent child who just wants to talk rubbish.
Yes they do have to start somewhere but adding a system such as voice comms into a game where it is voice comms that has actually broken it is not the answer, they have been trying by buffing solo players and I will say that imo it is not working, its dumbing the game down, as I said to fix somthing you must first find what is broken, once you find the broken part you go to the source and repair it, if SWF is what breaks the game then they need to look directly at what to do with SWF and not constantly try and work around it.
-
Now your just trying to use a straw man argument with no substance, having a clown killer and changing the game around a fundamental balance mechanism are two entirely different things, never assume it makes an ass of you u and me and when your wrong like in cases such as this it just makes you seem like you have no other argument to state.Master said:The devs also said we would never have a clown as killer.
If you dont balance the game around voice comms now, then it would ruin the game for players that purchased it before it was a thing, but I assume you dont care about the killers
Overwatch isnt region locked at all and surprisingly everyone speaks english (nope im not from an english region) if they use the voice comms at all, has worked very well so far even though there is sometimes a kid you have to mute.
As I already said, you wont be forced to use ingame voice comms, overwatch doenst force you either to stick to this example.
ALso it seems like you dont understand what a powerhorse SWF is becuase your suggestions are kinda ridiculous if you think that this would balance SWF onto the lvl of a solo survivor
Of course you won't be forced but you will be disadvantaged if you don't, you can't balance a game such as this using comms and not expect it to have an overall effect, overwatch is sill example as its an online fps it's not a 1v4 asymmetrical game so you cannot compare what information comms brings to the table, it also has millions of players, it does have regions built in, you chose it in the battlenet launcher, have you see the US or EU tags on it? yes you can change it but you will have a higher ping so its not advised unless you really want to play with certain friends.
Of course I understand hence why I said "for starters", I never said that is it all that needs changed, it's why I mentioned not only nerfing them but adding more gen, you know more things to prolong the game so killers have a fair chance against them.It seems it is you underestimate what SWF can do not just in game but before hand and why you think adding voice comms is the overall solution to all killers problems.
-
Solution, two hatches spawn and only open when the survivor is close withing 16m, killer has a one hit down if they are also within the 16m range, if you get downed you cant jump in for 3 seconds and it will stop any jumping animation to stop those who stand around waiting tbagging near it, survivor finds a hatch first they should win, killer finds the survivor first they should win.
-
Well you bought the wrong game if you want in game communication, the devs have stated many times it won't be added, if you want to use it then why not play with friends on discord like the others and leave the game as it is.Master said:The point if giving those players that want to communicate the tools to do it. As I already said, all the arguments non-english and immersion breaking or completely pointless, just disable the feature if you dont like it. Why are solo players disadvantaged because other solo survivors refuse to use their mics or cant speak english? I dont see a reason why we shouldnt have voice comms, look at overwatch for example, works pretty well over there.
How do you wanna nerf SWF? Explain....
You will never be able to properly balance the game this way
The game came as is, it has never had voice comms and to balance it using it now would negate why a lot of people purchased it and yes it will ruin immersion for lots of people, the whole point of not knowing and having to use you sight, hearing and knowledge is part of the game for lots of people.
How are those arguments pointless? Of course if they added voice chat and they balanced it with that in mind those who don't have mics and those who can't hear them would both be disadvantaged, were your serious when you said that? English is not the only language and its highly rude to think otherwise, to say well don't use it is also mind blowing, the product they bought would also change and if its detrimental to how they enjoy it the devs would have to do something like seperate the playerbase into comms and no comms or solo queue v swf which would never happen as any killer would rather play v non voice comms players it's common sense.
Overwatch has millions of players you cannot compare a game like that to a game with 25-30k on at anyone time, of course that can work for the majority of the playerbase as they can set more regions so they put players of the same language into each of them.
You can't think of it from an English only speaking point of view its very ignorant to even think that way, also what about the english speaking Oceanic region where the playerbase can be small at times and they can get matched with asian players quite a lot, should they learn Chinese or Japanese to name a couple just to play a game properly? Should they deal with a high ping and be matched with people from the UK and US only so they can play a game that's balanced for voice comms?
They could start by nerfing items and add-ons, take the worst case a 4 man SWF, they cannot stack offeringsl or items, one toolbox, one flashlight, one insta heal etc and if there is one in game chest only give normal medkits or maps in game, certain perks cannot be used by all players like adrenaline, unbreakable, borrowed time again to name a few, some perks are also lvl 1 only, they have a gen or two more to do and that's just for starter to see how it goes, if they wish to use a third party to tool to gain advantage over others and break the premise of the game then they get disadvantaged.

Its just what he and his channel is all about, he seems to make quite a bit of money from doing this on Youtube so that makes him dedicated to keep doing it, the only thing that costs money is the hardware ban issue, but whats $1000 a few of times a year when you can make 10 times+ that by doing it.
-
@alivebydeadight said:
this is slightly funny, but devs have done vac bans and my question is, why have they not done that to him
They have but they cant do anything about someone who has the money thrown at them by people so they can change setups, a hardware ban then gets circumvented, gets a dynamic IP so they can constantly change it so they can get around an IP ban, makes new accounts under different names.
If someone has the time, money and patience they can do whatever they like in any game.
-
No the hatch gives a chance to one survivor, let that sink in ONE survivors, who's to say that survivor didn't do the two gens needed to spawn it? make saves, lose the killer and its the other survivors who went down quickly and farmed people?
Do you know the reason for a hatch rework? do you know why the closing idea was not implemented? let me enlighten you, its due to the problems with both of them prolonging the game due to how they play it out, while it should simply be a way to end it quicker.
The last part of your post just makes you lose all credibility and makes you sound like a killer main who is in fact salty, to insult people like this just shows you are one of the players who must be a joy to get in a match with and I would bet you blame the game mechanics for everything instead of your own ability to play the game.

@Master said:
Pretty much everyone speaks english nowadays and those who still cant / refuse to will simply not be able to use it. Thats not a reason why others shouldnt be able to do so.
ofc we need to ability to remove it completely or mute specific players, but we need the option of vioce comm if we ever want a balanced gameTo be fair that's a very ignorant stance, to expect others to speak English is quite rude, not all of them actually do its just a very large portion that are capable.
The game was not designed for players with an in game voice chat, it breaks immersion for a lot of people, whats the point in having it if you have to mute everyone? then there are people who simply don't want to talk, they bought a game without it, should they now be disadvantaged in a game they have played for two years simply due to those who decided to utilise SWF and chat breaking the game?
No voice chat should never be added to this game, SWF needs nerfed, we all know where the problem lies, you cant fix a problem by trying to fix everything around it all that does is leave the problem to get worse, you go direct to the root and sort it.

Ingame voice comms?
In what sense? SWF using comms yes seriously overpowered.
Adding in game voice so solo can use them? no its not a solution as it only works if all the people speak the same language, think about the EU region and it would never work, thats not even mentioning the screeching over the mic, its bad enough in the end game chat without giving this community the tools to verbally abuse people.

when i say i want sfw nerfed i dont mean the chill 2 or 3 friends that play together for the sake of playing i mean these tryhards what could i possibly have done differently?I think a 2 man SWF is fine as long as they can only be paired with 2 solo players.
Unfortunately there is no way to tell if the SWF will be chill or tryhard so to nerf SWF in a 3 man or 4 man you must nerf them all, its just how it is as right now they are trying to bring solo players up which isnt working, its indirectly buffing SWF giving them more info and in the end nothing they can ever do will compete with coordinating before hand and especially changing it up when needed via comms.
The info solo players would need to be some what close but still be nowhere as strong is what perks the others are using, where all the unused pallets are, where the killer is at all times, where the totems are, what perks the killer has (if someone sees them using insidious etc) and this just breaks the whole concept of the game.
In your scenario I dont think there is much you could have done apart from pick them up, spam R and drop them if ming came for a save.

Even if they are not SWF you will punish the others for one persons behaviour riighhhtttt, this basically says you are going to camp regardless so what is really the point in posting this? camp if you want there is no need to try and justify it if thats how you want to play, its a legit strat.
Its the same as survivors who complaining about camping and tunnelling, its nothing more than a bunch of made up rules you expect the other side to abide by.

The hatch stand off can only happen when two people are too stubborn to just let it go and move on.
To the others complaining the hatch should be removed.
The hatch fits in with the lore given that last person hope for the entity to feed off.
It stops hostage situations or simply cuts down a long ass game, by design its to end the game quicker, that is untill you get two people who think living or that last kill must happen.
Its also about balance, solo players have no control over who they are matched with, if your team does nothing and you do two gens, save and escape the killer while the others constantly go down that's not the solo players fault.
Yes it needs a rework so its equally balanced which they are working on, until then either jump in or leave them at the hatch, no point complaining when it's a choice your making to waste your own time when you could be playing another match gaining more kills, escapes and BP's. -
Personally I think they should have a timeout system for people who dc
1 - 2min
2 - 4 min
3 - 6 min
4 - 10 min and then 5 minute increments
It doesn't reset for 24-48 hours depending on how high you get. This does two things first punishes those who dc and second if you happen to have a bad internet connection at the time you have time to look into it and if its the isp and you are dropping why try and play?
I also think they need to look at balancing survivor/killer bloodpoints as you say survivors earn less, rank isn't tied to them anymore so there is no reason not too.
Stop nerfing solo and buffing killers to try and compensate for SWF, nerf SWF, they need to stop working on trying to create fixes for everything around what is broken and go to the source of the problem and fix that.
Survivors and killer with all the aura and one hit down perks is becoming boring it's like being led by the hand everywhere, let me hunt and evade again, let me think and be aware stop telling me every little thing that's happening in the game and let me play it.

Dwight or Claudette as I play solo so its finding team mates or healing oneself.
Leather face for BBQ and farm points probably for a looooong time and after that it would be Billy for enduring. -
The problem with the big changes is they can really break the game, that's why they put them on a ptb, while the hatch closing mechanic sounded good in theory but the ptb the games still went on for too long with some survivors stealthing around hiding and touching gens now and again, it also made it killer sided so flipped the current situation, the hatch should be something to end the game quickly with both sides having an equal chance to kill or live.AnotherRandy said:Yes they did many changes BUT they haven't done BIG changes. That's what is the post about. I appreciate the many many changes they did, but I would love to see more confidence to do big changes
The DS change on paper sounds great but I did have the fear that SWF would be just as strong to get in position for the stun with a flashlight save? Maybe they thought the same way.
DS should just be removed imo in and make a new perk, maybe a perk which makes her silent when running with no blood for a few seconds, a juking perk to lose the killer instead of her being a survivor with troll perks.

Nothing that was done in the match is bannable, they weren't working with the killer, they got killed themselves so it's either just trolling in the game or they were trying to get you killed to have the chance of the hatch themselves.
While it's a ######### thing for them to do reporting won't do anything unless they get in multiple games with you and do it everytime to you and you alone.
The killer also did nothing wrong but use the oppertunity the other survivor was giving them, they don't have to be nice in any circumstance. -
I can't believe all the people asking to buff solo players, I only play solo, the only way to bring solo truly to say lvl is to let us know where the killer is all the time, what pallets have been used, where totems are, what gens are being worked on, where all the other survivors are.
Do you know what this does to the game? It changes it so you no longer have to be aware of anything going on, any solo buff also inherently buffs swf as the recent aura perk changes did, the one major thing swf can do solo will never be able to is coordinate on the fly, without ruining the game and dumbing it down to the point of being led eveywhere solo play can never be buffed to swf levels.
The only way is to nerf SWF, people who join using that lobby get hit harder, trying to change the game around one broken aspect wont work they need to work on fixing what is broken instead. -
No gen tapping is not an exploit, Ruin by design is to slow down gen progress, tapping a gen makes the gens go much slower than normal, the devs have stated it as not an exploit, it does not matter what you think as its a simple fact.
There are many ways to overcomes certain game mechanics, take a killer dribbling a DS user, dropping a survivor before the blind, walking backwards to mind game, each one of these tactics is removing or changing an intended game mechanic but they are not exploits they are strategies used by the player.
-
With the long queue times for killers in the past it would make sense to extend it for the weekend but with the vials change I think most will welcome the return of the normal game.
The problem is the game isn't as fun as survivor once you finish the vials as you are not participating as you were in the past ones and playing normally while two still need serum, I switched back to survivor once they changed how to earn the vials so those who play killer only could get lobbies quicker.
Killers who need hooks also get the short straw since those who have finished don't care what they need anymore, I still won't struggle if downed and only go back to normal play if they use a non event hook. -
I must have around 100 spare over multiple characters even though i use them in every game.
One good thing an event does is make prestiging more worthwhile especially for survivors as they are less perk dependant, lots of offering to be had with the small bloodwebs and extra points. -
The first survivor found if good enough can still easily loop for 2 - 3 gens or more, the only thing the pallet change did was after that unless they can mind game and make use of jungle gyms/windows they go down quicker.
The healing nerf actually made perks like botany be useful, these changes are good for breaking up the meta.
Can't say it's in a bad place for either side right now it's all down to the player your matched with, with the event on killers are getting more kills but that's not due to any changes its just survivors wanting serum. -
Something to put in the suggestion/feedback forum, I agree it should be an in game setting.
Like peanuts said though it's a risk changing it as EAC may not scan it right now but if they do decide to in the future you risk a ban.
