Technically there is also stuff along the lines of "oh ######### my house is on fire". Basically IRL #########. But at that point a DC penalty doesn't really matter.

NO! You finish your game until the connection melts! Then you leave.

...ok fine, I GUESS I'll allow real life emergencies too.

  • They have commented in a few threads that they are working from home and that it would have minimal impact to the development. You can find them if you look around if you really want to

  • What it takes for me to DC: "The game broke and I have literally no choice but to leave"

There you go, the only list you'll ever need!

    you're welcome.gif

  • I made a thread about that very thing a few days ago

    @tippy2k2 said:

This ends up being a two part for I don't want to play with these clowns of survivors again AND this killer was a jackoff who I also would never want to play with again.

Two of the survivors at the very beginning suicided on first hook. That's not "reportable" because there's nothing against the rules for it but I really should have the option to say "I don't want to play with these guys ever again". I'd rather have my queue slow to a crawl than have to play with clowns like that.

So I watched the rest of the game hoping the last survivor would make it (maybe they saw the hatch or something). Killer finds them, takes them out, then carries them to the open hatch but far enough away that the survivor has to crawl to it. Survivor crawls to it, killer shuts it. Killer walks survivor to the exit gate and drops them. Let's the survivor get half of it done before smacking her again and letting her sit there and bleed out until just before the timer goes off, when he picks her up and hooks her.

Like...######### Off dude. Takes a real big ######### man to somehow be able to take out two survivors since two of them abandoned ship immediately. I'd like to never ever play with such a ######### asshat ever again.

So please DBD devs, I'd really like an option in this game to never have to play with these people ever again. I reported the killer (though unless you want to count this as "taking the game hostage", he didn't break any rules so what would you punish him for?) but I don't care if he's punished or not, I just don't ever want to play with that clown again.

I would love for there to be a block option. Some people are just asshats and they're never gonna not be asshats and I'd like to never see their asshatty face ever again.

I suppose some would abuse it and block people who beat them all the time but then that's their problem when they can no longer find a match, not mine. I want to block people going out of their way to make the game a miserable experience, which should be an option.

  • The only thing I wish that would change for the survivors is that to restart the gen, it shouldn't be a quick "click and run". it takes the killer 2 or 3 seconds to damage the generator, it should take the survivor 2-3 seconds to put the part that the killer knocked out back into place (if you want to justify why it takes time for them to restart the gen or something for lore).

Otherwise what T2K above said; everything the survivor does also takes time. Hell, even dropping pallets and jumping windows gives the killer a second to hit them (the survivor makes up that time once they are safely past the pallet/window but still, there's a small window of time it takes while they do the action)

  • If it's frustrating you that much, then that's probably best (or at least a break).

I've found it better to roll with the punches and accept that sometimes, I'm just gonna get the floor wiped with my face but thems the breaks sometimes. But if you can't or won't accept that, take a break, let yourself cool down and try again (or don't try again, I'm not the boss of you :D).

  • tenor (6).gif

Hopefully people realize they should stop feeding the whiners attention and let the whiner thread die huddled in the corner alone where it belongs.

  • I just play whoever I get matched up with.

Sure, sometimes that group of people using two flashlights and two tool kits have military level precision, in which case GG guys, I'll get you next time.

Other times, they're a bunch of bumbling idiots who are trying way too hard with the clever tactics and I mop the floor with them because I've learned a thing or two about how to deal with Flashlight/Sabo combo teams.

You win some you lose some

  • I'm not sure The Entity would be pleased with you talking about letting his sacrifices go...

Do you killers want to go to The Entity Realm where you will pray for Death but Death will never answer you?!?! Because that's how you get sent to The Entity Realm where you will pray for Death but Death will never come!

  • I don't have much to add beyond "this" and pointing to the OP a bunch.

We're bound to have some complaining threads about how this gift to us isn't good enough so I want to do my tiny part to have a " Thank You" thread overshadow the whiny threads.

  • I die a lot (I'll call it 70% of the time just to put a number down) but part of that is solo (I swear some of those teammates are so dum that we'd be better off not having them on the team period) and part of it is I'm not very good as a survivor.

I'm also too altruistic for my own good. I bet if I just abandoned hopeless situations instead of running in to die trying to save someone, my death rate would drop considerably :D

Dance with me, Lithe, Quick n Quiet, (Iron Will or Fixated).

This works well if you have trouble losing the Killer.

Quick vault with no notification, leave no scratch marks, and get a speed boost.

With Iron Will if you took a hit you won't make noises, with Fixated if you haven't taken a hit you can walk away after speed boost.

Part of my issue is I'm newer so a lot of these perks I don't even have unlocked yet (all three of those perks are character specific perks if I'm not mistaken).

I'm sure it'll get better as I unlock ish from characters.

  • #MDBDGA!

I just got the game a month or so ago so my opinion on it getting stale should be taken with a huge grain of salt but I'm happy with the game. Each match can vary greatly pending my build and my opponents build.

I'd rather they get one mode polished to a super shine rather than kick out a bunch of modes that don't get the love and attention they need to thrive. It's not impossible for a studio to pull that off but it's a lot harder than people think and you risk fracturing your own player pool (and potentially killing your own game) if you can't balance it.

  • GOTTA GO FAST!

    GOTTA GO FAST!

    GOTTA GO FASTER, FASTER, FASTERFASTERFASTRER!!!!!!

    FAST!!!

Maybe I should try that. I suck as survivor so maybe I just need to mix it up with some whacky builds :D

  • I just find her kind of boring. I'll play her if I get an Archive or Daily challenge (the only killer I absolutely refuse to use is Nurse and I fully understand and have accepted that as I just don't have the patience to figure her out) but otherwise I'll play as someone else.

  • I don't really get Adrenaline either. It's not only a one time use perk, it's a one time use perk that might not even get to be used if you weren't injured when the last gen pops :D

I've said the same thing about some of the other perks and I say it about Adrenaline; there are times where I REALLY wish I would have had it but I'd rather have a good perk that is always going to help me rather than a great perk that is only great in specific scenarios.

  • I switch back and forth as I play. Sometimes I like being the survivor (although I swear I have the shittiest luck because I seem to run myself right into the killer every single chance I get :D) and sometimes I like being the killer. I generally lean killer (not much...like...60/40 split) just because I find being the killer is a lot more fun and enjoyable.

You get the odd game here or there with The God Team that can duck, dodge, dive, dip, & dodge like world class athletes who have been genetically modified to be even world classier athletes but overall, being a killer is just more fun. If I get the odd game where I get curb stomped then so be it.

Along with that, maybe it's just my luck or what but I keep finding that the survivors I get paired up with are just dumber than especially dumb rocks. As a survivor, you're so dependent on your team that having even one or two of them be bad can break the game in the killers favor but when I'm the killer, it's me, myself and I who is in charge of how well I do.

Sorry kid but when even the best players say the game is bs and unfair then the game is bs and unfair. Im sure the game is fair only in the survivor brain.

Then once again, go play another game if it's so unfair instead of throwing a fit like a toddler and taking your ball and going home, leaving the other four players trying to play a game with wasted time and wasted offerings.

This is the game. Don't like it? Plenty of other games you can go play. Now I'm gonna go ahead and bow out of this conversation since your riveting "NU UHHHHHH!!!!!" argument just isn't convincing me for some reason.

  • The game is plenty fair. It's not the games fault that you can't figure it out.

  • Stop playing the game if it's so unfun rather than throwing a fit and wasting the time of a 4 people trying to play the game

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Agreed. Either fix protective hits or stop basing challenges and perks on getting them.

Fixing PH would also be acceptable :D

  • I'm trying to decide if I should get a sump pump due to seeping water in my basement or a French Drain or maybe a wild card if you have a different idea.

Oh wait, were these supposed to be DBD hard questions? :D

The bags traps don't injure you in their own, she has to have placed the trap in a way that she can even capitalize a hit off it. You can also crouch over the trap completely, Urban evasion is still a complete counter to her. What you're asking for would make hag worthless, as a prompt would come up everytime you're near her traps and she'd never get any value out of them unless she chases you into them (mind you she moves at 110, she's not a chase killer, like the trapper can be).

    Wait...

You can just crouch walk over the traps and not trigger them? I swear I've tried it before but maybe I haven't.

If that is the case, I'm fine with her as is. I essentially just wanted a way to counter her traps. If I can crouch walk over them and not trigger them, I'm perfectly happy with that.

  • SOOOO MUUUUUCH THIS!!!!

I swear there are times where I'd be better off literally being solo and having no teammates than have some of these dum dums on my team :D

  • @AshleyWB said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1174752#Comment_1174752

There is no need for a risk free way to deactivate the killers power.

Then have it give the hag an indication the same way the trapper gets one when a trap is disarmed.

  • My response is "I don't farm, sorry".

I want to play the game, not kill 15 minutes so that you can get some meaningless challenges done.

The closest I'll get is if survivors disconnect and I'm the killer, in which case I'll just message them to do their gens and leave so we can go on our merry way (and unlike your killer, I'll honor that). But I'd never go into a game with the sole purpose of making strangers not play so I can get some silly challenge done.

  • Jesus Christ, I'd hate to see what a large quiz would look like :D

For the vast vast majority of these, it's "I have no Idea"

Like...I think I could legitimately answer two of these questions (the Ravens one and at least my definition of what pressuring gens is).

  • I'm too altruistic for my own good. Unless the situation is literally hopeless (as in, I literally can't get to you before the time is out), I do my best to save them.

Usually that just ends with us both dead. Oopsy! :D

I'm playing for fun. Going for the save in a hopeless situation is a lot more fun than just abandoning ship and leaving them for dead.

You've never played against a Hag on The Game or Hawkins maps then....her traps are clear as day on the concrete floor.

Fair, there are maps where you can tell exactly where they are but that doesn't fix my main issue with them; there's nothing you can do about them.

If the traps are in the way you and you have no choice but to go through them, that's all you can do. So a lot of hags (smartly for them but annoying and unfun for everyone else) use them to surround hooked people or around the few gen at end game. You should be able to either crouch through them (like your survivor is being careful not to disturb and set off the trap) or flat out eliminate them (pour dirt over it or something and lore say it needed a living organism to trigger it where dirt just does nothing).

  • My only issue with hag is unlike trapper, you have no way to disarm (or realistically, even just see) the traps she sets.

The only thing you can do is sprint by to trigger them all and hope either she chases after you to let someone else unhook or she kills a bunch of time resetting her traps, letting everyone else do gens.

  • I just want a "Thank You" emote. Right now I just double crouch and assume they know I'm thanking them but an actual thank you emote would be nice.

Maybe a "For the love of God, the killer is on your ass, don't unhook me you moron!!!!!!!!!" emote would also be nice :D

  • People are bastard coated bastards with bastard filling, that's why.

Honestly, that is at least a major part of it. Competition brings out the worst in a lot of people and it's not enough that they win, they need to embarrass their opponent too.

  • I've never had any of that happen to me and this is the first time I've seen this complaint on this board ( and with this board if it were widespread, we'd have fifty of the same damn topic because no one seems to realize you don't have to make a new thread every time you want to say something)

I'm not saying you're not experiencing this but are you sure it's not lag (like the survivor is in front of you but the game didn't catch up to reality yet) or something?

  • If I can't succeed in this that makes me a failure! If I'm a failure, that means my parents were right all along!!!!!!

  • Same here!

It's baffling how bad some of these guys are, especially since I'm not exactly a low rank (so they can't be that new to the game). Grabbing people off the hook with the killer right up their bum, trying to pick you up from the ground with the killer right up their bum, blowing skill checks to tell the killer where your bum is, staying around the killer as you're getting hooked instead of going literally anywhere else (at least try to hide for God's sake!!!!), first hook suicides because they were downed too quickly or whatever moronic excuse they want to use...

I don't know if I should be happy I'm not the only one or sad that I'm not the only one. I had been killer to do a bunch of Archive stuff because me winning or losing isn't dependent on some mouth breather but I'm out of killer ones to do so I'm very unhappily trying to grind my way through survivor Archives but how

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Like Overwatch? You can block up to three people from teaming with you.

Thing is you can lobby dodge. I just don’t really look at names in lobbies.

Blocking a killer is kinda silly and complicated.

I don't want to lobby dodge to get rid of a killer type. I want to not play with that individual person ever again. Right now, there's no way that I could do that. I want DBD to add some kind of option to allow me to do that.

And I haven't played Overwatch but yes, that is exactly what I want based on what you said here.

  • @Mister_xD said:

there has to be limits to that though.

otherwise players from both sides are just gonna block everyone who beats them in order to get the easiest games possible.

so maybe the chances of that player appearing are only reduced, he is only gonna be disabled as an option for X amount of games or there is a cap of players you can disable.

That would be acceptable as well. I don't get irked like this very often in this game (cause you know, it's supposed to be fun and I've said people on this forum take this game far too seriously for the good of their health) so I'd have a very small amount of people who I would want to block like this.

I don't like Gen Rushers or Tunnelers or Campers or "insert your least favorite dirty trick" but those aren't the kind of people I want to block. It's basically people who go out of their way to make the game a miserable experience like this killer did that I want the option to say "Nope, never again".

I have no idea if blocking them on Xbox Live would do it so I'm really hoping that it makes it so I don't ever have to play with them ever again.

  • I'm fine with them as well

As a killer, I suppose it's a bit more irksome as there's really nothing I can do about it. At least with Mori (Unless you're the first poor bastard who gets killed) you have a warning that the killer has it but ultimately they're both a special item that the opponent can't really counter. I suppose that alone should make it go on the chopping block but whatevs.

So no, not everyone is against them. I've never actually used either (I could never figure out when you could use the key and I never bothered to look it up so I just haven't ever used it; maybe I should change that since I have that "Escape from Hatch" Archive thingy to finish and Mori I usually just don't use because then I can't get bonus BP) so I don't know if that means I should just be ignored or if my opinion should count double since both are always used against me and never for me :D

  • Agreed

I flip flop pending my mood. I usually remember to switch my Archive thingy but I know I've blown it before and forgot to switch.

    Oopsy!

  • I'm not sure how many school shooters are using a chain gun that grabs people so they can hit them with the butt of their gun to sacrifice their victim to The Entity where they will pray for Death but it will never come...

But maybe I missed it :D

  • Splitting the player base for a game as small as DBD would likely end poorly. People complain about queue times as it is; that would get exponentially worse if you split the survivor pool like that, especially if killers decide they don't want to play against SWF even with bonus points.

  • I've had survivors where they used every dirty trick and were toxic about it.

There are times where it is frustrating but as a killer, I just kind of know every so often I'm going to get stuck in these games. Keep calm, don't be stupid (if you've been chasing a 360er for example, don't keep lunging at them because you're frustrated and desperate, they'll dodge it with ease), and stay focused. Even against the cheesiest of cheesers, the killer can take someone out as long as you stay calm and focused.

I suppose that's not good enough for some people but I'll take my 1k against a group of super good survivors rather than take my ball and go home.

If they're taking the game hostage because they're literally just hiding I could understand it but at least in my experience, that's so incredibly rare that it's basically negligible.

  • If you think the survivors have DS, either burn it immediately (so grab them and let them DS) or wait 60 seconds to pick them up (I'll go after another survivor or I'll go to a nearby gen to kick and come back, though you do risk losing track of the prey if you do this).

I've gotten burned by DS way less often doing this. Personally, unless I have another survivor to chase down or a gen within spittin distance, I just pick them up. Either I get the hook or they burn DS now when it matters a lot less).

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

This is the type of thing people are talking about when they mention farming. So yeah, this happens every now and then.

Well Farming (at least to me) are them working together from the very beginning with the express idea of doing whatever task they want to farm.

I suppose you could say this was different in all but name but I do feel like my act of mercy/mutual benefit is very different than going into a game with the express idea of farming.

I've played this game for two years and seen it go through a lot of things but I've not seen it this bad before. Maybe you're lucky and won't reach a breaking point for this game as I have. Taken my rose colored glasses off and I'm seeing the flames.

    So agree to disagree.

It probably helps that I'm new at this game (I got it like....two months ago maybe) so maybe I just don't remember "The Good Ol Days" because the current state of the game is the only state of the game I've ever known.

Maybe some day I'll get tired of it, maybe not. For now at least, I'm diggin it.

Playing killer can be very fun. But to enjoy it, I have to start each match with the mindset of "you're most likely going to lose" which is never a fun way to play a game.

    I disagree

I plan on having fun. Winning or losing (however you would even categorize that in a game like this for the killer) is secondary. It's why I won't tunnel or camp or do all the ish that is tactically smart but boring gameplay. I'm in it to have fun. If I get to kill 4 meddling kids in the process, super. If not, so be it.

  • I don't like a lot of the specific situation challenges for the survivors. Like...."Fall from a Great Height 4 Times" is such a weirdly situation thing that I found myself trying to find ways to make it happen and (potentially) causing a detriment to my team (since instead of trying to escape, I'm trying to run to a spot where I can fall and get my stupid challenge).

I know I could just not do them but then what's the point of having them?

  • Because I find it super fun. I've had bad games where everyone escapes and I've had good games where everyone is slaughtered by my blade. Besides the odd game of super toxic clown survivors, I have a lot of fun either way.

  • [ No Lie Detected]

I had a Daily Challenge for him but I'd never used him. I figured it was as good a time as any to try him and he's become my favorite character to use. Sneaking up on survivors to stab them in the bum is super fun.
