I had an Internet Friend going through a bit of a tough time and she opened her commissions to the Discord we're part of. I've never really wanted or needed art before but I had actually been considering getting something with Holly (my sister has one of her puppers and I really liked it and thought that it would be a nice thing to do for her as well as let me get the pic I've been considering). Her style isn't quite what I had in mind looking over her portfolio but I think it turned out very well.

I do and I do it a lot
A survivor would have to specifically irk me somehow or be in a completely unescapable situation (like Basement Bubba Camping at EGC) for me to just give up and leave. I also run Bond and one part of doing that is to be able to help someone if they're on Death Hook and the killer is on their butt again.
Sure, I get killed a lot but where's the fun in just running away like a coward?!?!?

The prestige can also be hella deceiving
My highest prestiged survivor is Level 11. My lowest survivor is....4 I want to say.
I have far too many hours in this game and while I don't consider myself a master survivor (though my brother who I play with sometimes and has a couple hundred hours instead of a couple thousand like me thinks I'm a damn Survivor God), I sure as heck know how to hold my own against any of the killers.
I see the survivors as basically skins, nothing more. So I always just level them all up kind of together since to me, it's a meaningless distinction over which skin I'm running around with.

I went to my friends house last night and saw the 2nd most adorable cat.

It's mostly gone back to normal for me; survivors have the bonus during the day, it flip flops throughout the evening, then killer usually holds it at night.

Easier said than done (though I'm not sure if you're after real answers or meme answers based on your first post...) but...
Just stop caring all that much if you die or not. Did you get left on the hook and/or abandoned by your team after you ran the killer for 7 gens? Dang, that sucks, time to move on. Did you get killed because your teammate is a potato who hid in the corner self caring against sloppy butcher all game? Dang, that sucks, time to move on.
The nice thing about this attitude too is that it allows you to play more freely and maybe do something cool. Like I'm the kind of survivor who will go for the hero saves at the EGC because it is super fun. Sure, I get myself killed 9/10 doing those BUT those 1/10 times, you're GD Superman to the poor bastard you saved AND you got away too.
If you die, you die. Hopefully you got to do something cool in the process shrug

I still greatly enjoy solo. If anything, these last few updates has made me enjoy solo queue even more than I had in the past.
Previously when I played, it felt like it was ALWAYS Blight or Nurse. No other killer could really keep up.
While I am dying more often, the variety of killers I've gotten to play against AND actually had to be worried about has greatly expanded. Certain killers were always glorified punching bags that you could speed through and I'd only lose when I got stuck with the most potatoey of potato teammates but now, even decent teammates keeps a lot of the lower tier killers in play to be a threat. Playing as survivor is considerably more fun when I have to actually be worried about my killer opponent.

Any killer who has gone up against a bully squad knows that it desperately needed to go and as others have pointed out, bully squads are (almost) the only time you'll ever see this happen.
Sure I guess once in a blue moon the stars aligned perfectly that a solo survivor had a flashlight and was able to do a locker save but that's gotta be a 0.000001% occurrence I imagine

Yeah, I gave up halfway through it.
I don't know if I've changed of he's changed or nothing's changed (and that's now the problem) but his videos lately are just very meh.
Though I'm still watching them so I guess he's gotta be doing something right but this video felt like a big whiff. Maybe if I watch the rest of it, it'll get better...

Same. I love the idea of a more interactive perk like flashbang but I can never actually get it to work. Even at pallets when the killer is locked in an animation, I get the "killer is blinded" points maybe 50% of the time.
Maybe there's some secret trick to get it to work consistently and not be so painfully easy for a killer to dodge it but I haven't figured it out yet...

Again, just playing devil's advocate here. I don't necessarily have any strong belief one way or the other.
Well I've always been of the mind that your fun isn't my responsibility so...
I've played plenty long enough that I do TRY to make it fun for everyone but I do not expect it from my opponents and I believe they have every right to run what they want and tactically do what they want (so while I don't like tunneling/camping as a killer, I understand and am fine if others do that to me).
I've always been a "return their energy back to them" player. If your intent is to ruin others games, you'll get it right back from me.
I'm kind of writing this rushing out the door so hopefully what I'm trying to say is coming across...

They've always just been unusable with no "compensation" for unused items. It seems very likely that will be the case for the rods given the past.

What I have a problem with is survivors who dc on second hook or death hook…why? You’re already dead.
@Sharpefern said it already but I'll say it too. That person has decided that they want to ditch a game and waste four other players time. If my time and the other survivors time is wasted, I'm not letting them just skip on out of the match. Their time is also going to be wasted.

It's probably the closest thing to BM I do as a killer. If there's five gens left/beginning of the game and you try to suicide on hook right away, I will put you on the ground and leave you there.
Whether you DC or lie there, you're getting a time penalty if I have anything to say about it...

This game has some real struggles to run as it is with some of the effects. The game might literally start exploding Xbox Ones and PS4s if they attempted to add environmental effects

Eh, well, we'll see. I've learned not to get my hopes up but I am grateful for the reprieve I've been given.
I'm young though, so I've got time before I start rapidly declining, I think.
I've briefly touched on my health struggles on this forum (I haven't talked about it a ton just because this really isn't the kind of forum that talks not DBD) so unfortunately I know that exact feeling.
You take the good when it comes but it's always kind of in the back of your mind that right now it's good but what about when it comes back? It sucks to live like that but chronic pain (in my case) has a way to beat you down like that
All you can do is take it one day at a time and try to keep moving towards getting better. I'm rooting for you Pulsar.

You get the super scary music when you're actively in a chase. If the killer is too far away, they might be "chasing" you but until you hear the super scary music, it's not considered a true chase.

That sounds super boring but you do you. I'm the kind of survivor who will just sit on a gen when there's two of us left and four gens to be done. The killer will either kill me or surprisingly a lot of them just leave me alone but either way I'm getting killed and can move on or I'm getting points so I'm happy.

Not that it's not dumb but to partially explain it at least, I've found as a solo survivor that many teammates won't follow you.
So I either risk letting them heal me under the hook and hope the killer doesn't come back or I don't get healed and hope that doesn't bite me later.

Alright, this thread failed miserably but I have to brag about my first ever real manly man's adulting and I don't have an excuse to post it elsewhere here...
If you've seen some of my cute animal pics, specifically the squirrels, you'll know my deck looked awful. I finally took some time off and overhauled it.
This is the deck before I did anything to it. It's hard to see but there are pieces with actual holes and rot and whatnot. So I completely cleaned the deck, sanded all the paint off, and replaced the boards that were really bad.
Additionally, the support beams by the stairs weren't actually connected to the stairs so I talked to my brother who did deck building in a past life and he recommended I get metal brackets.
Notice the CAR JACK holding up my deck instead of...well...the deck holding itself up.
Then finally stained it all.
Took two weeks, a lot of money and power tools, and hard work but that bastard looks like a brand new deck now.
I'M AN ADULT!

I just went off of what someone in some thread said, I never verified it myself as I usually only play a game or two before going to another game and then coming back later because I have the attention span of a toddler who has escaped from their parents in a candy store.

It's a bug. To my knowledge, it is purely a visual bug (so if you're playing the side with the bonus, you'll still get it even though it doesn't say it).

Protip as we've seen these people before and I guarantee we'll see them again; when they make an outrageous claim about how good they are and therefore X role is OP but then refuse to stream or show any gameplay, ignore them. They're full of crap and you're wasting your time talking to them.

I always have Kindred on and while this hasn't been a problem for me for a good long while now, I refused to play any survivor that I didn't have Kindred unlocked for
Just too much useful information for a Solo Player like myself to lose out on if I don't have it on. It can tell me when to go for the save but just as important, it can tell me when NOT to go for a save. That's the kind of thing that can make or break a game for your squad.

Unfortunately this is your answer and BHVR either can't or won't do the work to fix things up to have them run smoothly on the last gen consoles

August Edit: Well, we are nearing 100 pages. Congrats everyone. We still haven't gotten an answer from BHVR about what happened to Optimization, but we have inspired others to start to question it. Maybe there's more to it since I don't play PUBG and therefore haven't tried this mode buuuuut
It looks like they just made a DBD mode in PUBG but then...why wouldn't I go play DBD instead? I'm sure there's more to it than that but the one time I downloaded PUBG on my Xbox, it was utterly trash (which I've heard is the case that the PC version is much better but I have no desire to play on the PC) so I suppose I'll never find out for myself.
