Hopefully Molly warms up quick and doesn't have anything so you can get her and Holly together.

Also it's going to be awkward if whenever Holly smells Molly she gets hungry because she associates Molly's smell with food 😂

It's one of my boy Jackson Galaxy's tips so it's probably a good idea! :D

EDIT: I went into her quarantine zone and tried to bribe her with treats to come out. She rejected my offer. So she's still bein a shy kitty! Which is fair, it's barely been a day so I wouldn't expect her to be warmed up yet.

Sounds like ringworm. The rescue that partnered with the petshop I worked at talked about how it is pretty common in kittens that are rescued. Pretty much just some anti-fungal lotion you put on the spots and like keep where they live clean - wash bedding frequently, wipe down surfaces she's around, fully change litter more often, etc. Not a big deal, just takes some effort.

At the petshop we'd get Guinea Pigs with it, we'd just apply jock itch cream we picked up at CVS twice a day and it'd clear up after a week. People can catch it though so if kitty does have it be careful you don't catch it from her - just wash your hands a bunch and you should be fine. Girl at my work caught it on her face after snuggling one of the Guinea Pigs before it showed signs of it. 😂

They're relatively confident Molly has nothing (she was kept away from the kittens because they had gotten it over the summer. They told me they thought it was done with as no symptoms appeared again but last week two of them got rashes again). They said what you said, just make sure to wash my hands good if I interact with Molly just to be safe.

But either way I planned on keeping them separate for a week to make sure they adjust fine. Following my boy Jackson Galaxy's "how to introduce cats" video to make it as smooth as possible. In fact...

Yummy food, right Holly? And you smell Molly, right!?! See, when you smell Molly, you smell good things too so Molly must be good!!!

How's the kitty doing after first night? Need updates.

She's still hiding. Though granted I have mostly left her alone and not tried to interact with her yet. I go in and talk with her when I'm going in there to feed her and take out stinkies from the litter box (she's eating and there were stinkies so that's great, it took Holly like 4 days before she started eating).

Holly keeps trying to sneak in with me when I go in there so I'm more and more confident there won't be issues between them.

However the kittens that were with Molly they said have a fungal infection. They told me Molly did not show any infection but they want me to keep her quarantined for a week and check her to see if anything develops. If she does develop anything, the agency will cover the meds and it's not something that would hurt or kill her if she is sick but it's super uncomfortable for them (causes rashes and scabs and hair loss) so I want to make sure Holly doesn't get it if Molly has something.

  • From what I've seen of the lore, Kratos alone would not be able to. However if he either worked with the Blight or got the Blight Sirum somehow infused into his weapons, then he'd be able to.

  • A gunman went into a LGBTQ nightclub last night and killed five people before patrons were able to overpower them if anybody is still wondering why representation matters...

  • As long as it is not an indoor map, I feel like Boil Over is reasonably fine on console

But if you're on an indoor map...

    https://twitter.com/tippy2k2/status/1500109418507259904

This isn't even an indoor map and I ended up not being able to get through the damn door

Now granted, this was in March so before the update that made the wiggling less intense but on indoor maps, it's still a massive headache to have to deal with.

I’m not even a cat person but I can’t imagine how one could ever mistreat a perfect being like that.

People who mistreat animals absolutely baffle me. Like...you chose to get a cat/dog/whatever, if you really have now decided for some reason you don't want them, there are plenty of people looking for animals or rescue organizations that would take the animal free of charge. But even if I despised animals, I just can't imagine being the kind of person who would mistreat them.

  • Introducing the kitty formerly known as Olive, it's Molly!!!

oh okay i see ^^ Then all is fine. Can be misleading though.

I agree, I do wish they had a MOVED label rather than closed just for clarification for newer forum members but yeah, threads are generally not closed unless someone is breaking the rules in their original post (like spam, naming and shaming, or going overboard with personal attacks).

  • When threads get moved, they are marked as CLOSED in their original subforum. But they're not actually closed, they're just moved. If you were to click on the "closed" thread in general, you would be redirected to the open thread in Feedback

  • Bullying bully squads might be one of my favorite things in this game

You want to be an ass and do everything you can to make my game miserable? You can lie there on the ground and have a Time Out to think about what you've done.

Though I am at a bit of an advantage as I've played this game for far far too many hours so there are very few tricks bully squads use that I haven't seen before (and therefore know ways to best counter them).

I like how my evening blues yesterday ended with tippy adopting another cat. Not at all what I was expecting, but I’m not disappointed.

    Yay, Tippy helped!!!

Picking her up tomorrow. Gonna clean out the kitty room now and get it setup for her (it's a guest room/storage room currently so just a lot of junk out and need to put in a litter box/scratching post).

I don't know if I love the name Olive though. Holly is a name I liked so I kept hers Holly but I don't know what I'd name Olive if I did change her name...

My cat tolerates hugs. She came from a very abusive household and spent most of her life hiding under furniture so she took a while to come out of her shell. She’ll never be a lap cat but she lets me walk around with her cradled in my arm like a baby for a bit. But when I lay next to her and hold her she starts growling like crazy but never tried to attack me. She prefers to sit next to me and accept pets and brushing and now purrs very softly. Took her about six months to start purring with me.

Now, if I take out some cooked salmon she’s all over me and becomes the sweetest thing! She’ll purr and rub into my legs and sing and chirp for me. I know she loves me cause when she thinks I’m not around I catch her sleeping on my bed in the exact spot I sleep in or sometimes she’ll sleep on my clothes that I’ve left lying around even though she has her preferred cat bed and cat tower.

I do wish I could give her a hormone shot to make her like she was the day she gave birth. She was so cute and affectionate. I knew it was all hormones at the time but I made sure to take advantage and get all the belly rubs in that I could.

    Edit*

I forgot to add that she also comes to stand guard when I shower. She will jump in the bathroom sink (it’s right across the shower) and watch me until I’m done. She used to holler at me until I poked my head out from behind the shower curtain to let her know I’m okay. Once she fell in the tub while inspecting the situation and making sure I wasn’t dying. She doesn’t approach the tub any more.

Ha! Holly does something similar when I shower as she goes loaf mode just outside the bathroom door when I'm showering. I just assumed she was a pervert but maybe she's been protecting me 😂

  • You're not wrong but trying to stomp out the meta is a fool's errand.

As long as a game has some kind of competition, there will ALWAYS be people looking to min/max their builds.

That doesn't mean BHVR shouldn't try but with all due respect to the employees, BHVR is WAY too slow to making changes if their intention is to not have a meta. It's not an easy job (20+ killers with wildly different powers alone would be impossible to truly balance, not even considering SWF v Solo and low rank versus high rank meta) but BHVR sometimes takes literal years to change a perk that everyone but the most biased of biased players know is a problem.

I wonder if she's the type that gets mad about cats eating birds so less about helping the cats and more about getting them away from the birds. Would explain the being pissed about having cats in her house.

The go to shelter box I see places use is basically a plastic storage container inside a bigger one with hay for insulation between them and some hay inside for padding/extra warmth. It's cheap to make but keeps the kitties warm and out of the elements. I'm in New England and it's the like go to for the rescues in areas where there are cat colonies to help the kitties when it's cold out until they can catch them.

As long as you take it slow introducing them I'm sure they'll warm up to eachother. If the kitties seem to be having trouble relaxing around eachother they sell diffusers that release pheromones to chill out cats - there's one specifically for multi-cat households where the cats may not be super thrilled with eachother.

I'm mostly confident it'll be fine. I've done a lot of reading on how to introduce cats (put new cat in closed room so they get comfortable, feed the two cats on each side of the door so they smell each other with food so good association, do a scent swap where after a few days give Olive Holly's blanket and vice versa so they get used to each other's smell, and both are female, which usually they're less territorial).

Olive has been with kittens that weren't hers and Holly hasn't shown aggression when the Orange outside cat has been right outside her window so I'm mostly confident we'll get this to work. The agency also slashed her adoption price since I jumped in right away to help them out ($300 to $150) so that's cool. Except for a second food bowl, I already have everything I need (though I'll get Olive a few toys of her own) to make this work. Hopefully by December we'll be getting Double Trouble pics in the thread :D

My only concern now is how to feed them both. I do "meals" rather than keep food out but Holly routinely doesn't finish her food in one sitting. Maybe it'll be a moot point...

Our pets have never caused me to make mistakes in DBD but I am not afraid to just drop chase as killer and pet my dog or cat.

Left to right - Jasmine, Ellie, Babykam

Jasmine will actually just sit next to me while I'm on the computer and poke at me occasionally. Ellie looks for Babykam to pester her.

This picture is roughly from 2021 or so but it tends to be the best representation of them. The most intrusive thing any of them does is either Ellie or Babykam will try to stick their head into my coat pockets. I feel Ellie considering she is new to the home and is a rescue may have picked the habit up seeing Babykam do it once.

Meanwhile - Playing DBD be like

DADDY IS PLAYING THE SCARY GAME AGAIN! I NO LOOK

  • Holly has not. She is a strong independent kitty who don't need no MAN to keep her occupied!!!! *Sassy finger snap noises*

I'm not 100% why she doesn't bug me when I game. I WFH a few times a week and at least once a day she decides she wants to play a game of "hunt the feet" or a game of "PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!!!" as she hops up on my work desk but for whatever reason, doesn't do these things at my personal desk. At worst she'll hop up in my lap and lie there, which doesn't interfere at all with my game.

On weekends though it's super fun when she does that since my bird feeders are in the living room so she'll lie in my lap but also make that friggin adorable chirping noise cats make when they want to hunt something. Easily my favorite kitty noise 😍

  • I hate it because a majority time I've ran into it, it's on killers who run kick builds and choose their 3 gen to defend with their life. It turns the game into an absolute slog.

The killer almost always gets the 4K in those matches as we all eventually die from sheer boredom.

It's honestly hitting the point of old DH with me as I'm losing desire to play just knowing that each match could turn into a game of pure frustration dealing with this one perk.

Such a weird attitude to have when she's going out of her way to trap the cats in the first place. If not willing to keep the cats then work with a rescue that does the catch, spay/neuter, release and then set up outdoor area for the cats like the cheap boxes for them to get them out of the elements and a lime food/water station. That's what places do when they can't take in the cats (limited room at shelter/limited fosters).

I didn't meet my kitties before I took them. The foster didn't want randoms in her house (don't blame her, totally understandable) and based on the cats temperament (mainly Dante) figured it'd be alot of unnecessary stress since unless the cats just like HATED us we were going to give them a home. It is good to do foster incase kitties don't get along.

That's what I said! I would have assumed someone trapping strays would ADORE cats and their problem would be not giving them up for adoption when they really should, not being pissy that they have to keep some cats because they can't find an agency to release them to...

I'm not sure how it works here when there's no room. The place I go to is a No Kill shelter so if they run out of room and someone forces a cat on them, I don't know how they'd handle it. We're in the northern part of The US so right now it's 17F/-8C so I'm not sure having an "outdoor cat area" would be all that practical, though I suppose some cheap shelter outside and a known food source is better than no shelter outside.

I also did not meet Holly until the day I went to the adoption place to get her. I had gone to the adoption place to look at Roo, one of Holly's kittens but I didn't take Roo (I can't even remember what the reason was but I know I could have and didn't). Holly was "there" but she was hiding in the cage so I never actually saw her or interacted with her. After talking with the agency more about what I wanted, they were the ones who suggested Holly and I just took her home on that second trip.

The only concern I have with Olive is making sure she and Holly get along. I don't need them to be best of buds or anything like that, I just need to be sure they're fine co-existing together. As long as that happens, I imagine I will be keeping Olive for myself and actually adopting her.

If you ban DBD for "bullying", you'd have to ban literally every single multiplayer game on the platform and that does not seem very likely...

  • Well that escalated quickly. I guess the foster parent who has Olive is super unhappy that they have a foster cat (which is super strange to me because why are you a foster parent for a cat if you don't want a cat but maybe there's more to this story than I know) and have been very uncooperative with the organization with letting people meet the animals. So I'm going to meet and almost certainly take Olive home tomorrow.

The agency said I can be considered a "Foster" owner until we know for sure it'll work. If it works out, I can just adopt her and if it's not working out, I will foster the cat until they can find a new owner cause I have no desire to make a cat stay at a home if the home owner doesn't want them there.

EDIT: Got more info. First, it'll be Sunday now instead of tomorrow as the foster lady can't bring the cats to the agency tomorrow. Second, the agency contact I have said that the foster evidently is an "independent" trapper who catches the strays and then gives them up to adoption agencies. However, given everything going on (so many people are giving up their pets because of Covid and/or Inflation and can't afford them anymore, which is also a little baffling to me as I'd starve before I gave up Holly but I digress...), there are no open spots in any agencies. So the lady is bitter that she's now "stuck" with these cats until she can find an agency that will take them.

As long as you're giving Holly plenty of attention I'm sure she's super happy being only kitty to be spoiled by you.

My last cat loved being an only cat because he got all the snuggles with me and didn't have to share. Like here, he was using my arm as pillow lying with me on the couch watching TV. 😂

Don't know if I'll get her or whatnot but I'm going to shoot my shot and see what happens...

(2nd cat is in the Cute & Cuddly thread if curious)

  • Also...

Oh no! Another kitty cat has shown up on the Adoption website that fits the criteria for a second cat if I were to get another one!

    image.png

About the same age (Born July 28, 2020 so 2.5ish years old) and is a short hair. Uh...end of criteria :D

    Good job!

  • Part of the issue is new players but in their defense, I think a major part would be Subtle Cheaters

I've had many a games where something happened that seemed...off. Did that survivor disappear because they tricked me or did they disappear because when I lost LOS they did their quick cheat and sprinted away faster than they should have? Did I lose track of that survivor because the game got goofy with scratch marks or did they use a subtle hack to make them disappear when they shouldn't have? Should that killer have been able to lunge that far at me or are they getting a little extra boost from a hack?

Although if I'm reporting someone, I'm not going to tell them I'm going to report them so who knows for sure what they're thinking...

  • On the next episode of HOARDERS: DBD EDITION...

  • Everytime I see your two cats interacting, it makes me want to get another cat 😭

And as long as I am bumping my thread up to be conflicted about only having one kitty, remember peeps there are now THREE codes to use

    CHEGADAS

    NOVAS

    CELEBRANDO

  • Shame it kind of sucks 😅

  • Come here Holly, we got another code to reward!

Its not based on time at all, purely based on what side has more or less players

    This

While times can be a good rule of thumb (usually survivor here is 100% until 5pmish and then it slowly shifts to killer), time has nothing to do with which side gets 100%.

its normal, my chinchilla does it too.

Oh she's just chatting with Frank?

Good, she does that all the time. I was worried there for a second...

  • I would take old Ruin over Eruption every single time. Eruption is single handily making me play less survivor (well... probably not single handily but like...73% handily).

Turns far too many matches into a painfully boring slog

  • That was a challenge back when the old hatch mechanic existed (where it would spawn based on the number of survivors left versus the number of gens left rather than only spawning when there is one survivor left).

Now it basically would take a lot of luck, a lot of throwing of games, or probably both to get the challenge done

  • To be kind of blunt, does it really matter in this case?

The gens were done so had the OP wanted the game to end, they could have just opened the gates for the survivors instead of going AFK and walking their dog. It sounds like the only peoples whose time got wasted were the survivors who sat around for half a hour wasting what precious little time we have on this Earth to do nothing...

  • Holly's mad at me now for posting not her so before she kills me in my sleep for displeasing her...

    PXL_20221117_150304408.jpg

Yes yes Holly, you're very adorable too and deserve a tummy rub

  • I do not

Mostly because I'm always paranoid that I'm going to end up being the dead weight. That's the day I'm going to completely forget how to Survivor and am missing every skill check and running the killer for ten seconds before going down...

I also really don't like doing VC for some reason and I imagine if people on the forum were wanting to team up, they'd likely want to VC while they were at it...

Holly was making the weirdest freaking noises a few weeks ago and I had no idea why. I'd never heard her make that noise (it was kind of a combo chitter and a yowl) so I went to investigate...

There is an orange cat that I've seen outside a number of times and evidently that day it decided to sit right at the stairs of my deck. Holly was chittering at the orange kitty.

  • No

Skins are nice but I don't know if I am ever going to pay actual money for...well...any of them.

  • ONI SMASH!!!!!

  • I have. While it's nice when the killer goes for the unhooker rather than me since I have no control over the situation, I understand why the killer would go after me instead. It sucks but I'm irked way more at my fellow survivor than I am at the killer

As killer, as long as the unhooked doesn't choose to get in my way, I'll go after the unhooker instead (though if you actively try to stop me with body blocking, I'm waiting out bt and putting you back up on that hook).

  • *Happy Vommy Mommy Noises*

While not nearly as powerful as it was, that kind of setup can still be a huge pain in the butt for a basic M1 killer unfortunately

  • It sounds like you're stuck in MMR Hell (You need at least decent teammates to realistically be able to escape but all you're getting are potatoes because the game thinks you're a potato).

Unfortunately the only way out of MMR Hell is to either get people who can help you (so a SWF) or just keep playing through it until (in theory at least) you'll string together a couple of wins and try to climb yourself out of that pit of damnation...

  • Don't do that here.gif

But yes, there are a lot of people in the game/in the forum that could really due with a bit of chillaxin. I'm certainly not perfect either but at the end of the day, tis just a video game peeps.
