Both sides have entitled people.

You might want to actively squash this rumor that PlayStation is the cause of the hold up. Look into the incident where Kerbal Space Program was removed from the PlayStation Store. Not being proactive about this could be very damaging.
Or it'll just start a war flaming whatever platform isn't ready.
-
Depends. If they were doing their part, or the killer was scummy, I let go. If they did nothing then no.

Why does anyone care? There's no incentive to rank up. You get nothing out of it if you're on console and PC just gets a few achievements but nothing in-game.
Until the devs add a good reason for me to rank up, I'll never care what rank I am. I just play to play.
bloodpoints>pips
From the survivor side I've found purple ranks are the most enjoyable. The game is better when your team isn't a bunch of idiots.

Can we make it harder to rank up maybe. MAYBE
Once you hit purple you have to play pretty decent to continue to rank up.

Killers get more points in general because in order to keep up with add-ons a killer HAS to spend Bloodpoints in the Bloodweb.
Survivors can simply search a chest or take something from another survivor to increase their items/add-ons. They even have perks that allow them to get rare and ultra rare add-ons/items without spending anything.
If they manage to balance the economy then there wouldn't be need for killers to spend more on upkeep, however until such time it makes sense that killers make more BP to compensate for this discrepancy.
Tell that to Marth and his taking every killer from rank 20 to rank. No perks no addons. Understand I'm not saying that is realistic for everyone. But saying killers need more blood points because of addons us ridiculous. Giving better blood points to survivors means those who play both have more points to spend where needed.
-
Ds and Bl were just in there. I doubt they'll be in again. Bbq has only been in the shrine twice. So again doubtful. Light born is possible though.
-
Ghostface. His detection is completely broken. Also almost every Ghostface I face is a heavy camper/tunneler.
-
All that means is gens actually need to reward more blood points. The current amount is pitiful.

I kinda do care about rank, too. But rather because I know that people in purple ranks e.g. usually would not crouch around in the corner of the map. That's my motivation to rank up - to play together with people who have some experience in this game. Other than that I don't really care.
That's my feeling as well. My goal each month is to get back to purple ranks to avoid idiots.

Why do Bones when you can just blame the Killer for being a scumbag trash player when you get your butt beat by NoED? Then go complain about it on the forums later?
Much less effort.

Dont you know? If a killer runs endgame perks, it clearly means he's garbage...even if he stomps you before you ever GET to endgame while only using 3 perks.
To be fair. Most Noed users do play pretty scummy. I'll reiterate that I have no issue with Noed. I do with most of the people who use it.

The devs have said it many times that he has the same lunge distance as every other killer, because this is a common thing.
I believe them. I didn't say it is longer. I just said it feels wonky.

Its just an illusion
None of the other killers with short weapons feel like that. To me at least. That's why I mentioned it.

What's questionable about his lunge? It's the same lunge every Killer has. It only looks different because he has a smaller model & a smaller weapon, but he's hitting the same lunge distance every Killer hits.
I've seen some pretty long distance lunges. They don't feel quite right. Granted it could just be latency combined with the shorter weapon.

Just curious as to how it'd affect the "meta"
On the one had you could run all the SS tier perks but on the other.... Potential 200% bloodpoint increase post trial but you give up 2 perk slots to do it
(bbq has over 6 counters, please either learn these counters or stop complaining please, we really do mainly run it for the BP)
I can only think of 3 to 4 counters. But yes bbq is fine. And I would be thrilled if they added more perks like that.
-
He's really not OP though. Aside from his highly questionable lunge I like new Freddy.
-
I guess I'm weird. I never pay attention to people's names.
-
I break every totem I come across. It's basically free points. I also run Inner Strength. So it's an easy heal. And as you pointed out it keeps Noed from happening. I typically get 2 to 3 every game. In short only idiots don't break totems.

Well considering it is the solution what else do you expect people to say? Hide in the grass?
Generally the OP for these topics is just venting. Telling them to do the obvious doesn't really help. They're usually just getting their frustration out. As many times as I get hit with Noed despite doing 2 to 3 totems every game. I understand that frustration.
-
@Centrum said:

It's literally the only good response.
It would be like saying 'Just do generators' is an old reply to 'I can't win as Survivor because all I do is run around & then die'; or 'I'm slowly growing weaker IRL because I don't eat' and someone says 'Just eat something'. It's the actual solution to the problem presented.
What else should people say? 🤷♂️ Doing totems is how you counter NoED.
Survivors can prevent NoED from ever activating. Killers can't turn off a Survivor's Adren; if endgame hits, Survivors get Adren. Yet the same Survivors who say 'Adren is fine' get pissed because 'NoED is OP because I don't want to do bones'.
If Survivors don't want to actually counter NoED, that's their fault. Them being lazy does not make the perk OP. The solution is to do totems.
Tell someone the obvious doesn't mean it's a good response. A good response adds something to the conversation. Everyone knows how to prevent Noed. But if you're the only person cleansing it's not so easy. I understand completely why people find Noed frustrating. I'd actually disagree about it not being OP. After all, how many other killer perks can cause such a massive swing in their favor? I also understand that it's still a fair perk.
Personally I think a better way to do Noed is go back to a timer on the perk. One that adds time for each hook the killer gets. But that's a separate issue.
-
"Just do totems". God I'm sick of that response. Unless you're going to expend alot of time you almost never find them all solo. I've had games where I've cleansed 4 totems and the one I didn't find bites me in the ass. Understand I actually have no issue with Noed. But do bones is really getting to an old response.
-
There are probably too many people playing killer.
-
Yes and no. You're not reaching red or purple ranks if you're a complete potato. But, especially on the survivor side so much depends on who you get matched with. I'm a purple ranks survivor and feel like it's about right where I should be. I'm not a potato. But I'm not great either. Ultimately play time will determine more about your rank than skill will.

Personally, I am very disappointed because the game is getting very stale and kind of boring for me and the new event/archives would definitely be a refreshing change. It also feels like the patch wasn't even close to being ready for the release after reading their latest post and they set the date for event way too early.
Like I said above. The disappointment I get. I was looking forward to the archives myself. I'm more confused by the rage storm that followed.

Because its a Halloween event that may not be out for Halloween.
We'd be grinding for ghost flashlights after the season for that stuff and jack-o-lanterns is over.
I understand why people are disappointed. What I don't get is absolute ######### fits some people had over it. That's mostly settled down. But the intial announcement was followed by a tidal wave of anger. For something as inconsequential as an event I just don't get it.
-
I'll never understand why people are so bent out of shape over this delay.

There already is a reliable way of telling and I listed multiple... the hair may be a bug and I stated because it looks quite crappy... but the glass shards glow and now it's obvious and cannot be obvious because itll be a walkathon and everymatch will boring AF.... this is logic... if the player is blind to you and as long as you stay as quiet as possible and leave no trail, that's the plan for success against a spirit... why would you do anything other then walk away if you knew for certain that spirit was phasing?
Yes I saw your list. But again cosmetics can effect whether you can see those signs. That's why I said they weren't reliable. Making her completely visible would be a mistake. People aren't asking for a flashing neon sign that says "she's phasing ". Just something consistent to look for.
-
@Bravo0413 said:
The thing with spirit is that if she has a noticeable indication that shes phasing is every game will turn into a walkathon.... itll even more boring then it is now for some players..... also it's not as if she doesnt give indication in her current state (glass shards glow when she phases, her hair spikes up when she phases, this kinda looks ugly so it may be a bug), she also brings a completely different way of performing a chase, this is good for the game since the game has to keep changing if the devs wanna get another 5 years out of DBD..
Fun is subjective, just because there's a group of players saying such and such isnt fun doesnt mean theres another group saying that samething is really fun. Me personally, I find map wide Bing bongs to be the most annoying/unfun thing in the game..
Pre nerf Legion was fun for those playing as them. Not many survivors can say it was fun to play against them. I get where you're coming from. But I do think there needs to some reliable way to tell if Spirit is phasing. I don't count your examples as reliable as her cosmetics effect them.

Do you play other horror games?
Playing survivor is supposed to instil a sense of fear, dread, surprise, adrenaline, anxiety, and immense uncertainty due to unpredictability.
Spirit brings this to the table.
She doesn't though. Spirit instills a sense of frustration for many. I don't think I know anybody who gets frightened by her.
-
@se05239 said:
Ironic, isn't it? You play Killer and that thing pops within 30 seconds. Play survivor and you'll have all teammates running around the map searching for it 5+ minutes every trial.
I've stopped using it on Killer and I can hit great skill-checks like a machine as a survivor, as a result of it.
I know that pain all too well. I wish I could say I hit greats as consistently as you though.
-
Of those two I find Wraith's power more fun.

She is very fun to go up against for starters
You just need to actually play against her and not give up
Fun to go against is a matter of opinion.
As for the OP's position. It's ridiculous. I am however curious if it wouldn't mess a Spirit player up have no scratch marks to follow.

A killer can be irritating to face without being strong. I find Doctor and Plague to be the most annoying to face. They're not incredibly strong. They're just annoying.

I find it to be fairly consistent, if not a little survivor sided, since Ive been exposed when behind a wall.

His crouch speed is 90%.

Because t1 myers is super slow. Almost No-blink Nurse level slow.
As is Pig in her stealth mode. Same with Ghostface without addons. Wraith is the exception to the lower speed but at the cost of coming out of stealth.

@Mochan said:
A lot of survivors here saying Spine Chill is negated by just being more aware.
This is nonsense. Spine Chill gives you an extra edge beyond awareness. It activates earlier than any Terror Radius (except those big ones inflated by Distressing and other stuff) and in the case of being in an enclosed space (which is like 90% of gens) gives a lot, lot more information than sight.
Survivors who seriously think awareness = spine chill are the newbs.
I get that loopers don't value Spine Chill, because you need your looping perks, and that's fine.
But the small edges you get from Spine Chill are huge in this game, especially for people who understand how to stealth and juke. Same way the small advantages you get from looping properly and vaulting properly make a huge difference.
But don't know the perk just because you don't know how to use it.
You and @GrootDude get it.
-
Why should he be the exception to the rules that govern all the other stealth killers?
-
Hooks not respawning would be a terrible idea. Extending the timer, especially if they run sabotage would be okay. At least in my opinion. Adding more blood points for sabotaging hooks could also add some diversity.
-
This is so relatable it hurts.
-
To be fair your OP only mentioned gens. Adding in chases, totems, and sabotaging, and looting makes your idea better. I'm not sure if it's a good idea though. Maybe if you added being within so close a proximity to the killer as well. If the killer is searching an area throughly slipping away to progress gens will be difficult.
-
I don't know if it's the best. That after all will vary greatly depending on a person's play style. I will say it's extremely useful and underrated.
-
I've never really understood the killer sides opposition to this. Especially if it made a global sound. Hell I'd say have a global sound for survivors and a counter as well as sound for killers. Then you know if your Noed will proc or not.

Except it isn't your "punishment" at all. It's you chickening out of the match like a little baby, just with slightly more dignity than someone who straight up disconnects, and you screw over your entire team in doing so. It's you punishing your team, it's not you accepting punishment at all.
Punishment implies something negative happens, and there is no negative to disconnecting just like there is none for killing yourself on first hook, which is the equivalent to a disconnect, minus the fact it doesn't punish the killer, just the survivors.
I'm really astonished at the amount of people who make excuses for people who disconnect or even people who do this, and it really isn't surprising given this community as a whole is pretty toxic and garbage. There's no shortage of people like that, evidently. It's just a bunch of shitheads who all have the same terrible mentality, and they have 0 consequences so why stop? Why not enforce those ideals on forums lol
Have you considered it's the little shits on their team that made them hook suicide?
-
Lol. No that's a terrible idea. If it was maybe 3 full heals maybe. Beyond that would be broken.

My survivor wait times are about 1 min on average but I'll admit that is probably an exception. And I'd honestly rather wait for a lobby than play 3 on 1 from the start as a survivor or as a killer.
That's why I can argue either way. You have short que times. So you prefer a full game. Others have much longer que times. Or even enjoy the challenge of 3v1. Obviously both are less then ideal. But I think it's hard to say either is clearly worse.
-
@EverflowingRiver said:

Yes, but what is worse, a survivor DC at the start of a 15 minute match or a killer DC at the start and the match ends instantly. Seems clear one is worse than the other.
I could argue that either could be worse. The survivor DC leaves you with an up hill battle. But is doable. The killer DC means you just wasted all that time quing for a match only to start it all over again.
