Deciding not to suicide for the benefit of your team despite being camped is the very definition of altruism. Why it isn't so in the game, I don't understand.
That's why I said it would be interesting to add it. If you're getting face camped you're unlikely to get many points. This would soften that blow.

I'm sure there are people with bad connections that cause DC, I'll give you that. But in my experience it's 90% a survivor thing so I will refresh the stereotype.
Tell that to all the killers that dc because of a map they don't like. As survivors will by default out number killers 4 to 1 the survivor number will be higher. But let's not pretend that killers don't DC their fair share.

@[Deleted User] said:
Perhaps start giving altruism points for the struggle phase, especially if you're constantly in the killer's terror radius while on the hook?
You get survival points for struggling. Though adding altruism points if a killer is camping would be interesting.
-
Not sure it's entirely people being jerks. I've been seeing alot of DC's happen at times when it wouldn't make sense for that person to DC.
-
Or their teammates did something to earn them saying I'm out.

God people are touchy about legacy crap.

Too long yes.

You know the trapper was one of the first killers in DbD?
Did you know he's still waiting for qol changes?
As I recall he had some. Though he needs more.
But I'm not asking for a qol change. I'm asking for them to fix game breaking #########.

I disagree. As soon as you add that option, people would end up harassing people through messages/postgame chat that you aren't in voice chat. Which they already do for other reasons that are outside of your control/outside of their perception.
Instead of all y'all wanting to try and make other people better at the game by talking at them, how about you focus on your own gameplay instead? If you really want to talk to people, find some friends either ingame or outside the game and stick with them.
I don't want to talk to people. I just think it could add to the game.

That would be nice. Breakdown as it is sounds more like "Overweight" and the hook just broke because you were too heavy!
I suppose it depends on if The Entity believes in regular maintenance.
-
Are they going to fix how badly it screws the rest of the survivors? I doubt it. It's a ######### situation. But it is what it is.

I'm planning to get it when I get enough shards this week.

Can killers see auras of survivors at the start of the game or something? Every day for the past two weeks, I’ve always been the first survivor found within 20 seconds of the game starting and I haven’t even moved yet!
does anyone have any strategies on how to make sure I don’t get seen first? Cause my team always loses when I’m the first one to die 😂
I start out cautiously. I wait a little bit before starting on a gen. Not long. Just enough to see if I can ascertain who the killer is and their whereabouts. If not I'll start a gen or totem. I also run Spine Chill so I've found that help me slip away early and avoid being the first found. It doesn't always work, but it helps.
-
I always thought they should make break down work for when you unhook somebody. It would have alot more utility that way. It would also help combat camping.

Yeah that's happened to me too, on both sides as healer and as to-be-healed, but I don't feel so bad in such a case because at least my team cared enough to pick me up.
Only once ever have I played a game where my entire team AND the killer completely ignored me the moment I was downed. I had enough time to heal myself to full then crawl into a safe corner. And they were still ignoring me. I had 3 crows flying around my head before I bled out and I posted quite a few things here on the board -- I like Alt-Tabbing and posting here while on hook.
I never regretted not bringing No Mither more than I did that day.
Huh. I assume the killer wasn't using knock out?

@GrootDude said:
Stereotypes aside, a lot of survivors I see do adapt. Iron Will is meta now because of the spirit meta, a lot of PS4 survivors seem to be running spine chill which helps a lot against Spirit. This whole “us vs them” mentality is just silly and needs to stop.
People don’t adapt and others do, it isn’t a side, it is people.
Two of my favorite perks against every killer.
As for the OP. I find your position a bit disingenuous. For the most part. People have asked for reasonable changes. There are outliers. But in general most requests haven't been too far out.
As for survivor perks being nerfed. They have been. Alot. Ds has been brought to a reasonable place. Borrowed Time isn't as strong as it used to be. MoM got nerfed into the ground. The insta heals are going the way of the dodo soon. Generally hardly anybody has felt these changes weren't fair.
I agree some of the weaker killers need some changes to be more viable. But you can't push them to the point that nobody new sticks around either.
-
@Peanits I have to disagree. Adding the option so long as there is also a mute button could be helpful. I'd say it would need to be short range coms though 16 meters or less. You could even add a noise notification for the killer if they're within a certain range. Overall I think it could be something interesting and worth exploring.
-
@Mochan said:
I've had worse.
I've been left on the ground to bleed and die.
Killer decided I wasn't worth his time, chased someone else, they literally ran all the way around the map, other two survivors were near me, decided to run away to a far away gen and try to finis it together.
Spoiler: the killer downed the guy he was chasing, found the other two (probably had discordance) and they never finished the gen. third survivor goes down, I bleed out as the fourth one is being hooked.
I mean, seriously, there has to be a limit to stupidity. Though I guess Einstein knows better than I do.
Had a game yesterday where our teammate bleed out on the ground. The game bugged and refused to let me or another guy help them up. I felt so bad for that person.
-
I think if it was short range. 16 meters. It might be okay. If they ever did implement it I'd want a mute option.
As for the people saying F13 was a good example of why not. Most people didn't bother with mics after a while. Though I will say thank God for the mute option.

I'll take your word for it as killer. As Survivor I do not notice a difference and I can't test it in KYF at this time.
Pain reliever did a video showing it was actually louder for the killer. Might have been a bug that has since been fixed.

First case: Ever heard of a perk called "Hope"? It's incredibly op m8 it gives the survivor a 7% speedboost for 120 seconds in the endgame. Much wow. Very op.
Second case: "Dead Hard" is the best exhaustion perk in the game. How dare you!
Hope is not OP.
Balanced Landing has that honor.
-
While Noed can be annoying it's not OP. I understand your frustration though. I've had games where I cleansed 4 out of the 5 totems. Naturally the one I didn't find gave them Noed.

Hmm, I suppose. Though, you do see what I mean right? A Killer has someone on the ground and you just stand over them like "ha ha." It doesn't seem like it makes much sense to me. They could just pick them up from under you, considering that they pick survivors up with one hand. They could just shove you outta the way with there side and pick them up, removing your ability to stop them as they pick them up. (which would be a different animation) While it's realistic that it would be harder (maybe), for a KILLER it wouldn't be impossible. They are much much stronger than survivors (or seem to be in lore, if not actual game balance at times *cries in Legion main*) so it wouldn't STOP them utterly.
But we are getting into conjecture, so I will say that in the end, while it doesn't make sense to me personally (Which was mostly the point of it too me, not so much the "exploit" part to me other than you could easily use this to get your friend out the gate from a slugged position if you are healthy etc. which feels a bit cheap) the Devs have left it in, so it's not that big of a deal.
Besides, I run STBFL on most of my Killers, and I already mentioned Trapper traps. I don't MIND if people do this, cause I can counter it due to my playstyle. I merely meant it felt silly and unintended.
Right I'm saying you'd have to move them somehow. To me I'd just enjoy the free hit.

Ergo, not playing Claudette is for cowards.
I love this.
@InfinyMage said:
Claudettes are a whole another spectrum altogether.
Any survivor being both toxic or non toxic can go about their business in the trial.
A claudette does the exact same thing (toxic or non toxic) and its game over.
I have and will continue to drop chases, let survivors escape via gates or hatch if i know that the other survivor alive is a Claudette. She just cant survive in my games.
I think you have some unresolved issues.

Excuse me. Have I insulted you? I was explaining what body blocking was, in reference to the rules of the game.
Now, as I said, I feel that having the prompt be removed by someone standing over the other, or being under a hook for the slugging example, is an UNINTENDED bug. That is why I say "exploit" because it doesn't make much sense to me for it to be a thing other wise. Could you explain to me, why it makes sense to you that it happens?
If we are going to continue this conversation, I ask that you do not insult me. Thank you.
Well realistically how would you pick up a person if I'm standing over them. You wouldn't. You'd have to move me.
-
I never get them.
-
Most of those threads (I imagine) are made after a frustrating game. Also half the time when I see people ask for advice they're mocked and told to git gud. When so often that's the response is it any wonder they go straight to buff this or nerf that?

It actually doesn't. Gens are just as loud whether you are using Technician or not.
Louder from what I've seen.

Most unsafe rescues are an attempt to keep that person from being one hooked. If the killer refuses to leave the hook or soft camps the area you're left with two choices. Let them get one hooked. Or try to get them out as best you can. Sorry skippy, but the killer created that situation. Not the survivors.

Remember when nurse was just addon changes?
Yes. I'm on console, so nurse is not really an issue there. So it's hard for me to say how big the impact is on her. Hopefully they don't mess with Spirits power as well.
-
Overall I'd say killer is more stressful. Mainly because you want to do well. If you don't it's on you.
On the flip side I'd say survivor is more frustrating. You try to play a normal game and get a killer who camps, tunnels, and goes all out with perks and addons. Or get paired with idiot teammates who do nothing. I'm not a great survivor. Hell I'm not sure I'd even say I'm a good one. But I look like Puppers next to some of the knuckleheads I get paired with.

She has many tell tales when she's phasing btw, and as if late of seen alot of post asking for a flat nerf not an addon change, I support the addon change especially regarding her very rares.
I've yet to have time to test the tells people say exist. So I can't speak to that. Yes, some people have called for flat out nerfs. But they are a small minority from what I've seen.
-
Um pretty much the only thing that people have asked for is a look at her addons. The only other thing I've seen is a better tell tale that she's phasing. Personally I don't care if they touch her or not. At least be accurate in your complaint.

It's an annoyance no matter how you look at it. Much like Mr. toxic over here (Mochan) you're trying to justify toxic behavior by "don't let it get to you, hurrlul people who are annoyed by it are children" etc. Whatever, both of you keep being the reason why this community is horrible.
At what point did I try to justify it? I said to get over it.

You're just one of many, one of many people who pathetically try to justify horrible human behavior by making the other side look worse by saying "lul triggered by pixels". Let me ask you this. If I was blowing an air horn in your ear for 10 minutes straight, would you say "lul I ain't triggered by toys" or would you want to beat the ######### out of me (asks he as if he doesn't know the answer)?
They didn't say if wasn't garbage behavior. They said to learn to roll your eyes at the idiots doing it. Bming only works if you let it.
As for your air horn analogy, that would be causing actual harm. If you were punched in the throat for it. It would be warranted.
-
To play as, Trapper. I just seems like I never manage to trap anyone.
To play against I have four.
Ghostface because they always are hardcore campers/tunnelers. Also his stalk being so dodgy to break.
Myers for the same camping tunneling reason as Ghostface.
Doctor because he's annoying. His power seems to cause alot of lag or frame rate issues for me.
Lastly Plague. Like the Doctor I find her incredibly annoying.

As a Killer, I don't dodge based on trollbaiting names or flashy cosmetics.
Killers who do that are chumps and are probably the ones who flood these forums with tears about getting "gEn RuShEd."
HOWEVER, as a Survivor main solo queue player... if I see ANY of the default cosmetics - including non-license DLC characters, I leave.
Survivors in the free/default cosmetics tend to be newer and/or casual players with a solo player mindset and selfish interests. They usually backfire gens, unsafe unhook, crouch in a corner of a map, or crabwalk around the map.
You dodge as survivor based on cosmetics? Lmao.

I don't understand why people watch streamers that just play videogames, such as the DBD ones or even people like Ninja. To me it's just boring, and I'd rather just play the game myself. I also can't stand the egos some streamers have, acting like playing a videogame is akin to performing a life-saving surgery. No shade to anyone who likes watching them, I just don't get it
Usually because they find them entertaining or are learning something from them. I enjoy watching Puppers and Panda personally. Puppers has a fun attitude and I'm picking up on subtle things he does while looping.

If you can't understand that any player (survivor or killer) DCing is almost certainly a safety at best for everyone. I don't know what to tell you. 3v1 is almost a guaranteed safety at best for a survivor. But please continue to piss and moan about how it affects your pip is all that matters.

These are the same people that would make 100 threads complaining about the patch if it came with a major game breaking bug, leave them to think and offend who they want, they'll never be happy with what BHVR do they'll just moan and continue to play regardless.
I'm assuming they either failed cert or found a last minute bug. But apparently skippy up there knows the true. We're foolish to question their brilliant insight really.
-
People suicide on hook for alot of reasons. Some intentional. Some not. You keep telling people to grow up and play how you want them to play. If the killers internet suddenly turns to ######### should you be forced to stay? Should you hang around for your "teammates" to farm you? If the killer is camping and your team is falling for it isn't better to keep them from feeling the need to save you? Those are just a few in game examples. That's not counting real life issues coming up. You don't like people killing themselves on hook fine. But don't assume you know what's happening or why.
