If this were a competitive game it say escapes and kills. But it's really not. As much as it will drive NuclearBurrito nuts this really is a game of arbitrary win cons. If I could have escaped, but decided to save a teammate instead did I lose? If I play a really great game and facilitate others escape as a result is that a loss? Not to me it isn't. This really is the kind of game where the only thing that matters is achieving your goal. Whether your goal is a 4k, a double pip, an escape, or grinding out as many points as you can.
-
I would guess the pallet hitbox is a bit wider then we would think. Then you get moved over for the stun animation. That would be my best guess anyway.
-
It's too situational to say for sure. I'll usually keep on my gen for 30 seconds after they get hooked. If it looks like they aren't going to get saved. Or I know the killer is chasing someone I'll go for the save. I always try to avoid them hitting struggle phase. I suppose I'll go with teammates. As getting another person back in the game increases your odds.

in these 3 weeks i have played, i have only seen solos 10 % of the time at most. 3 ppl swf are all the time, the 4 man swf horror is like 20%. 2 ppl swf is manageable. imo if 2-3 gens are done in the first minutes of the game, then it is almost over for the killer. unless you playing nurse or spirit. imo toolboxes should either go or gen time should be reworked asap.
I rarely play in swf. As a survivor I don't see them (or those I suspect of being them) very often. I do agree killers need a bit of help though.
-
I think Mori's could do with a slight tweak. After all who enjoys playing against an Ebony Mori currently? Here's my idea on how to make Mori's a bit more fair, while still being powerful.
Cypress Mori: You become obsessed with one survivor. After being hooked at least once you may kill the obsession with your own hand.
Ivory Mori: After you have hooked at least two different survivors. You may kill one with your own hand.
Ebony Mori: After you have hooked each survivor at least one time. You may kill every survivor with your own hand.
I feel like these changes would make a Cypress Mori worth using. While discouraging the tunneling of the hook for the other two Mori's. I especially feel this would make the Ebony Mori feel at more fair. While still being damn strong.
-
I don't think most people (outside of swf) are trying to get the gens done as quickly as possible. I rarely bring an item. When I do it's because I want to be able to push out at least one gen quickly. You don't know what your team is going to be like. Also a toolbox makes sense. At the start of the game is when you can put the most pressure on gens. If you can get 2 or 3 gens done quickly you have a good chance to escape.
-
Because they usually have so many blood points stocked up it would be a waste collecting them. Also I believe some people do it so they can rapidly level up the next killer/survivor.
-
I personally like to use the following.
Inner Strength: It's probably my favorite healing perk. I've gotten 2 or 3 heals out of it a match.
Spine Chill: If you prefer a stealthy playstyle like me it's great for avoiding killers all together. It's especially nice against Spirit and any of the stealth killers.
Bond: Being able to see what your team is up to can give you invaluable information.
Iron Will: Having no grunts of pain is fantastic for when you manage to slip the killers line of sight.

I just looped another Spirit today for 3 chases before finally being downed. I didnt use any anti Spirit perks.
Shes really not all that difficult to loop.
I didn't say she was.

You said git gud doesn't qualify as contributing. I told you the devs use it periodically. You said you doubted it were true. I told you it's on stream. Instead of saying you were wrong in what counts as contribution you then disregarded it and stated Mathieu isn't credible because he isn't good at the game.
Given enough time you'll be back to parroting the narrative because you aren't here for debate or to learn, you're here to convince the devs that Spirit is OP as anything less means you are the problem and would require effort on your part. Its easier to have the devs nerf a character so you can use one simple method (looping) to win instead of having to learn to play better.
I didn't say I doubted the devs said it. I said telling someone to git gud wasn't a contribution. It's dismissing someone. It doesn't matter if the person saying it is the best DbD player in the world. It adds nothing.
Again. I don't give a rat's ass if they nerf Spirit or not. I have never said Spirit is OP. My only issue with Spirit is her twitching messes with my eyes. No matter how you try to spin it. Git gud is not adding to a conversation.
-
Definitely not 3 months. Even a scrub like me would hit red ranks then. I think they should adjust how far back the reset takes people. Like maybe have rank 1 only go back to rank 5. Rank to go to rank 6 and so on. Basically if you were red ranks you'd go back to purple. Purple would go back to green. And green would go back to yellow.

And this is why people like myself don't bother responding with anything more than git gud. When people like you are wrong you don't admit it. You just continue parroting your narrative.
So, git gud.
How am I wrong? You added nothing to the discussion with telling somebody to git gud. It's absolutely useless. It's like telling a killer who is struggling to do well with an aspect of the game to get better at it. Like why didn't they think of that already? If somebody is struggling in an area it's obvious they need to get better at it. Telling them to get better is annoying and does nothing. Offering advice on how to get better does. If you don't feel like offering advice to people who are struggling with something that's your right. But don't pretend telling them to git gud was useful. Because it damn sure wasn't.

Then you'd be wrong. Watch some dev streams, you can find times where Mathieu Cote has told people to git gud.
Coming from a guy who is pretty clueless about how to play his own game.
-
Provided my team is smart enough to do gens I have no issue with being face camped. I just hang there thinking okay we'll depip together then. When your team insists on trying to rescue is when I get aggravated.

I don't have to contribute anything beyond what I choose to. This isn't your forum and you aren't the authority on what is or isn't acceptable contribution.
You're right. I'm not in authority on what constitutes contribution. Though I'm fairly certain git gud doesn't qualify.

This is a horror game where you kill amd survive. Why we need swimsuits or shirtless options is far beyond me. If you wanna see these characters in a sexual way, pursue the internet. Dont try and force fanservice bs into this. Next well have doctor with a 3 ft dildo weapon. Because of the lulz.
@Peanits can we close or move this please. Its turning into people just talking about which character they want to see half naked.
We have plenty of ridiculous outfits. There's really no difference. Besides, half of this forum is at each others throats most of the time. This is a discussion in good fun.

I don't owe you that information. This is a forum where people leave opinions. In my opinion the problem is the complaints come from bad players who blame the game and not themselves.
The perks to use have been mentioned over and over, the things to avoid against a Spirit have been mentioned over and over. But bad players come with an agenda and will hear none of it. They want the killer nerfed so they don't have to think. Thinking requires effort.
Git gud.
Which brings us back to you contributing nothing. Also considering I haven't complained about, nor do I give a rat's ass about Spirit. You telling me to git gud makes no sense.
-
@Tucking_Friggered said:

It is contributing. It's telling mediocre players what they need to hear and do instead of whinging on a forum, in a to-do list cadence, over each and every killer that isn't loopable, low tier, fodder.
The thing is you lot will never accept the answer no so a conversation is pointless. You have an agenda and you work towards it everyday instead of putting that energy into getting better.
Let's say I do this for survivor perks. Let's have endless conversations where I make up nuanced complaints about any that are remotely effective and demand you defend them endlessly. Are you going to be here having the conversation day after day knowing I have no interest in conversation and only care about pursuing an agenda that wants survivors nerfed into ineffectiveness by any means possible? No you will not. At some point you will tell me I'm not as good as I think I am and that the perk isn't the issue but my personal skill is.
Nurse changes are not even set in stone on live and you lot are already in full force starting the propaganda over Spirit.
Telling people to git gud isn't contributing. Laying out an actual argument as to why you think Spirit is fine would be. Sharing techniques you use to combat Spirit is contributing. Mindlessly telling people to get better adds nothing to a conversation.

I was watching True's stream earlier today. He had his team DC against Plague one after another. Not sure if they were getting kicked (game has been unstable lately, for me at least). If it was just regular rage quiting. Or if it was because of Plague specifically.

-
I wish people would stop gen tapping.
-
I didn't give a damn what they did to Spirit. Now I hope they do nerf her.
-
It kind of does. You failed to protect the gens. There are some killers that are good and run Noed. Most of them are terrible though. As for just cleanse the totems. I do all the totems I find. You usually won't find all 5. If you do, you likely manage nothing else in that match. I don't have a problem with Noed. But let's not try to pretend most of the killers using it aren't terrible at the game.
-
All of them. I'm pretty bad.

Never seen it. But whatever makes them happy.
-
Yes it's good. It just is used differently. It's the best for getting out of a dead zone. Balanced Landing has more potential for extending chases depending on the map. Lithe is great for flat maps where you want more control over when you sprint burst away. It also can pair with quick and quiet for a fast get away.
-
Wait, so you just stood there protecting the chest in the basement? Unless you blocked them from leaving and refused to kill them you're fine. Also is this a thing now?

I think there's a bit of a gap between "downside" and "chance of survival is pretty close to zero (unless the Survivor in question is way better than the Killer)".
I have to agree. The only fair way to have it work would be to deactivate the perk when a killer is undetectable.

The thought of giving up Dead Hard really hurts, but having Bond and Prove Thyself could be pretty sweet. It seems like I need to shepherd my fellow teammates.
The biggest frustration for a solo survivor is other survivors. I'm not a very good player by any means. But compared to some of my teammates I look like Puppers. I think that's the one thing killer mains don't understand. They think survivor is easy. When half the time your team screws you.
Bond and Prove Thyself really are great. As others have said already, the information from Bond can be invaluable. Prove Thyself is nice for the speed boost. Also the added blood points makes maxing Objective pretty easy. I've also found Spine Chill to be highly useful. If you prefer stealth it's fantastic. Even if you prefer looping it can help you get to a good spot by telling you to leave early.

NOED is balanced and doesn't need a rework. It's a hex perk. Just do bones. It's one of the those perks that's stronger at low rank, where survs don't know how to play against it, but that doesn't make it op. If you really want to hard counter it, run small game. NOED is only strong if you're so determined to sit on a gen that you neglect everything else.
I've had matches where I cleansed 4 out of 5 totems and had Noed hit. This was in purple ranks. It's hardly only a low rank issue. Understand I don't have an issue with Noed. If anything I'd rather see it go back to a timer. Have the timer last longer based on the number of hooks you got in the match.
-
Because he'd be absolutely hated at lower ranks. I would be in favor of reducing, or eliminating the sound from his wailing bell. Also if they made his shimmer harder to see. Or maybe make it intermittent.

I really like those names.
-
I orginally mained Claudette. Partly because I want Selfcare. But alot of it was because I really liked her back story.
I moved to Feng as I grew a bit more confident. I also liked her perks.
Next was Dwight. Because I liked his perks and back story.
Most recently it's been Nancy. Basically because I love her perks.
Killer wise I was orginally a Wraith main. I was never very good with him though. I tried several others before kind of settling on Pig. There's just something about her that works for me.
-
My original Claudette build was Selfcare, Empathy, Botany, and We'll Make It. If I redo it at some point I'll swap Selfcare for Inner Strength.
Iron Will, Bond, Spine Chill, and Inner Strength. That's what I'm working towards. Lightweight and Fixated are also ones I might rotate into that build.
-
Myers. You're just working away, turn your camera, and he's just staring at you. Startles the ######### out of me everytime.
-
I remember when I recently came back from a dbd break I was confused by that as well. I had slipped back to rank 19 I think. But half my lobbies were prestige level 50's around the same rank.

It's not like whispers. Whispers works in a circle and you're the center of the circle, Spin chill gives you direct information of which direction the killer is and where he is because of it's 36 meter directional range. At least with whispers you have to know how to use it properly and it doesn't point out which direction the survivor is.
Um no it doesn't. It let's you know they're looking in your direction. You still have to try to figure out what direction they are coming from.
-
Styptic was more of a lateral move. It gained some utility. But lost a big reason to use it.
-
How about this for a Mori change:
Cypress Mori: Allows you to kill the obsession after one hook.
Ivory Mori: Allows you to kill any player you've hooked. But only once you've hooked at least two different survivors.
Ebony Mori: Allows you to kill all survivors. But only after you've hook all four survivors. Meaning you can mori until each individual survivor has been hooked once.

Inner Strength is my new "crutch" perk. I can't leave home without it. I'm frankly surprised not more people are running it, but at the same time I'm glad because that means I don't have to compete with others for totems.
I rarely see anyone else run it either. But hey, more totems for me.
-
@Mochan said:
Like people are gonna bring Detective's Hunch and Small Game.
Those two are niche perks at best, even with the buff. People have had access to Small Game for ages and it's never become meta even though every killer is using Ruin.
Inner Strength surprisingly is not popular. Only totem hunters like me actually use it. I've been playing tons of games since Stranger Things hit and I rarely see Inner Strength being used.
Inner Strength is probably my favorite perk honestly. I get a heal for getting blood points. Yes please. Also given the sheer amount of Noed I'm encountering it's just more incentive.
-
The purple one is more of a lateral move to me. You gain the utility of BT in a bottle. But you can't pick up survivors anymore.
-
An alchemist would be interesting. Not sure how you'd execute that though.
-
You should add an undecided option (if you can that is). That's where I fall on it. I doubt I'll buy it. But can't say for certain.
-
1) You're right. They're not free. But if you are able to grind enough it's a pretty decent value.
2) Also correct. But again depending on your ability to grind it is still a good amount of value.
3) It doesn't effect game play though. It might make others want the cosmetics. But that doesn't effect game play.
4) It really is a case of don't buy it if you don't want to though. This is a mature game. If adults can't exercise some self control that's on them. I'm not unsympathetic to those who have legitimate problems. But we're all responsible for our own actions.
5) $35 million in revenue. But what are their expenses? Ghostface, Freddy and Michael were likely not cheap licenses to secure. Not to mention the others. Add in their operating expenses and it's probably not nearly as much as you're thinking. I don't know their financial situation. But I'm not going to assume they need the money or it's just a cash grab.
6) You're correct. They're not. The battle pass is adding more potential rewards for you to grind for. The numbers might need to be tweaked to be reasonable. We'll have to see how it all unfolds before saying for sure.
7) I agree. Fixing core issues needs to be the first priority.
Overall I didn't personally care about the battle pass one way or another. So long as it doesn't become pay to win.

I disagree. Pig moves slightly slower but can dash attack or just get up from crouch and get easy hits/grabs. Wraith can move faster in stealth. With this change, they absolute should increase Michael's tier 1 speed/lunge or better yet, leave him immune to premonition/spine chill. He was in a fine place as he was.
I mean this as much as a survivor as I do a killer. Jump scares are great. Nice little adrenaline rush when a Michael spooks me.
I do feel every killer should have at least one perk that helps fight them. Giving him zero terror radius is still going to scare the ######### out of alot of people.
As a side note. Michael is the one killer that makes me jump. When you rotate your camera and he's just staring at you. Gets me every time.
