In those circumstances it still isn't the killers fault for slugging. It's either that or the 4th person gets a free escape and he very possibly doesn't pip for it.
It's not free. They had to find the hatch before you.

Umm I have seen almost no survivors complain about him. He's strong without being oppressive.

Yeah I know its rare, thats why I said "If survivors were better" the devs would realize how unbalanced it is
But you can't balance around outliers. No matter what you'll always have large skill gaps in a game like this.

An m1 killer at max skill cannot win vs an optimal survive with friends team at max skill.
I never said that you can win every time. But the mythical 4 man swf that makes no mistakes is pretty damn rare. But I've also said many times that lower tier killers need some QoL changes.

Agreed. I think a lot of my personal frustration is how reactionary most of the complaints are. Most of them seem like people haven't even attempted to think about counterplay and they are just upset that they may have to play differently. It also seems to have gotten waaaaaay worse since this forum launched a few months back.
True. I try (not always successfully) to see both sides.

I am so over this community. Every tweak equates to a perk is now "destroyed." Every reaction to anything is so f'ing over-the-top and extreme.
How many matches has OP played using this perk in its new state? Have they even tried to figure out how to adapt? Why does no one feel they should have to adapt? This game has been and will continuously be tweaked and changed. If you ask me the fact that you must continuously adapt keeps this game from getting boring. I'm so over the constant crying about changes.
Nobody had to play original MoM to see it was busted. You don't always need to play a change to see the likely outcome. Granted people can be wrong. But BL is pretty much dead.
-
People have a right to express their opinion of changes that are being made. That said, it would be nice if they were at least constructive opinions.
-
Uhh survivors have been receiving nerfs since week one of the game. Not that many of those nerfs weren't needed. Orginal Well Make It was absolutely broken. But to say killers are the only ones getting nerfs is completely inaccurate. Also that they nerf solely on survivor back is just not true. They take feedback into account. But I seriously doubt it is the deciding factor.

yikes that's dumb, they pretty much nerfed the efficiency on it. That's why I've needed Botany Knowledge for everything now. When I'd get Ace in the Hole it would turn them into almost intaheals with certain add ons.
I mean it does give you one super fast heal. But I preferred the utility of having multiple heals. They also nerfed the suture and needle and thread addons as well.
-
Both sides complain pretty evenly from my observation. Most of the complaints are after a frustrating game. Which is understandable. Though I would argue if you look at where the game started to now. Killers have never been in a better spot.
-
If you mean everytime, I can't. I can somewhat consistently. I keep getting better at it. But I have trouble seeing the red on some maps. So I doubt I'll ever hit them all the time.
-
They nerfed the charges. But made you heal yourself 50% faster. I preferred the old one myself.

Well, unlike survivors, killer should be the power role. It's 4 of them vs. 1 of you. Of course the 1 player should be stronger in a 1v1.
I meant the player behind the killer.
-
Welcome to survivor life. It's always a crapshoot whether the killer will play super sweaty. Or if they'll give you a chance to play.
-
Maybe if killers were better they would feel like the power role. See I can say whining things with no substance too.
-
They're basically buffed up dailies. Not exciting. But it is what it is. Though I did enjoy running plunder's and trying to make sure I got all the chests. Also scaring the crows was good for a laugh.

Yep tbh a lot of killers just need small QoL changes to be viable outside of addons.
Even if it took more then those small changes, they could start moving the chains at least.

Honestly I would rather instead of nerf the viable or "overperforming" ones first. Buff the unviable or "underperforming" killers. A big reason is mostly because of the limited amount of good killers at red rank for high level play. So even if a few are completely at different levels then by buffing weaker ones once we get changes to the ones way too strong it wont be as heavy a blow by losing them and making the meta less diverse.
If it had been me doing it I'd have given other killers QoL buffs at the same time. Massive reworks like Freddy take time. Small changes like having Trapper start with all his traps would (I should think) be pretty easy.

Pallet vacuums were never added, they've always been there. If you go back and watch any footage of the game at release you'll see people warp right to the far side of the pallet.
Having played since the start, I've gotta' say that it's never been easier to play killer. Even going back just a little over year ago, I used to have to deal with people teleporting to the far side of the pallet, Borrowed Time that protected both the unhooker and the person who was unhooked, DS that worked the first time you downed someone with no way to avoid it, and the list goes on.
That's not to say that it's perfect now, but to deny that it has gotten way better since would require a very selective memory. It'll likely always be more stressful just by the nature of the role; it all depends on you. You are the only one facing the four survivors. There's nobody to watch your back if you mess up.
Pretty much this. I will agree with the OP that the nerf stick does seem to swung pretty hard when it's brought out.

Percentages in DbD are additive not multiplicative. It leads to alot of confusion. That said they still only get 50% of the norm. Iron Will can still be pretty effective in the scenario.

So i guess the answer is no, she's not worth bullying lol
It probably would have been more along the lines of me telling them to stop being an #########.
-
By buffing killers that need it. Nurse needed a nerf. Probably not as severe as she got. But that's another story. Spirit needed a change. Though again not the one she got. Legion was absolutely toxic. Though again they went to far. Honestly their power should be scrapped for something else. Ghostface would be fine if his reveal mechanic wasn't so unreliable from both sides. All that said they need to start buffing the lower tier killers. It doesn't even need to be big buffs. Small QoL changes to start would help.

How would you answer the question if that were the case?
I was thinking ######### is wrong with the OP? I was trying to decide what was worse. That they are openly asking about bullying. Or that they were like is Plague worth the time to bully. I was torn between confusion and wanting to lay a verbal smack down.
-
I don't think people minded they nerfed Balanced Landing, so much as how much it was nerfed. Hell if they'd made the no grunts from dropping always active, I'd have considered it a fair trade. That would have stopped the unfair loops while adding utility to the perk.
-
Like 16 I think. I haven't played much.

-
While hardly a make or break perk. It was a really strong perk. To me the nerf went too far as it removed the only reason anybody ran it. If you at least got the silent drops all the time the perk would of had utility.
-
The pallet perk is a meme peek but could have some utility. Mostly picking up pallets that shouldn't have been dropped. I'm thinking semi safe pallets that might not have been broken.
The no blood trail one with Iron Will could be good. I've heard different versions of how it works so I'll reserve judgement.
The wiggle bar one might help in body blocking situations. But is unlikely to be effective.
All of Oni's perks are pretty meh.

First off the game design really wants you to pick one side or the other, its not like counter strike where sure the two teams differ but you still have to play both. With dbd you got two roles that play completely different, and you dont have to play one or the other. This causes single minded people on both sides and splits the community down the middle. On top of that the devs are pretty bad at balancing so each side takes what they can get and abuses it like old ds or adrenaline, or for killers no ed and rancor. Most games one side does not have fun and the game has been like that forever. no one has respect for opinions and most arguments come down to, ok salty ______ main. most people who played both sides excessively will tell you the game is just a garbage fest with the occasional high moment . I love the concept for this game but its just so bad executed, and the community has no respect for each other so they abuse the ######### parts of the game. tell me why you think this games community is so bad maybe you will change my mind.
To your first point. No it doesn't. The game allows you to play one side or both as you like. It doesn't encourage you to pick a side. People do that by themselves. Naturally if you only play one side you'll be biased towards that side.
As for balance, try balancing a multiplayer game with massive gaps in skill between players. It's going to be hard as hell. Not saying they have it perfect. But considering the difficulties they face, the balance isn't that bad.
Having fun in a game comes down to you. If you take this game too seriously you won't have fun 90% of the time.
You are correct. Alot of people don't respect others opinions. Unfortunately that's the internet and not a dbd issue.
Unfortunately there is a vicious cycle of mains on both sides constantly tearing into the other side. Many killer mains won't be happy until every tool survivors have get nerfed to the ground. The same applies to many survivor mains and killer tools. This isn't the devs fault. It's on those people and only on them.

I don't know any other community that touts on about "playerbase".
People only care about playerbase when it gets to the point where they are straight up no longer able to play.
But when you're playing your favorite multiplayer, do you honestly care about "playerbase"? Are you actively playing matchings thinking, "Gee, I'm sure glad the playerbase is so vast!". No. Nobody thinks like that. You'll be glad for shorter queue times, that's beyond the immediate effects you'll feel from increased playerbase.
As I said, I'd rather have a smaller community than a toxic one. And Dead By Daylight's community is infamously known for the latter portion.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/850943#Comment_850943
You claim things I never said; I didn't say they were forced to implement SWFs. By no means is BHVR innocent victims of this mistake.
But BHVR actively prevented the ability to play with friend groups in the Beta. And during early launch. You couldn't even voice chat in certain sources as the game would outright block certain voice com channels.
If they had planned for SWF groups, then why didn't they include these things in the beta when the testing was going on and they could do something to fix it? Ran out of time? Didn't think it would matter? Either way, nobody in the community bothered to foresee the issue until it was already enabled, and BHVR didn't bother to let us see how it functions earlier before putting it in the full game.
I played the Beta, even attempted for hours to join with a friend in the same match. I remember how many people were lobby dodging to try and get in the same match.
That doesn't make SWFs that much of a good idea. Especially when it wasn't given to the community for balance testing around the game's fundamentals and ESPECIALLY when you don't bother to fix or address (and in many ways, attempt to embrace) the issue at hand.
So no, I'm not wrong; BHVR put it in out of popular request. Because either they were so incompetent they would not be able to see how such a feature would not fit into the fundamental construction of their game type, or because they were more concerned about people playing with their friends then they were about game health.
Without a good sized player base a game dies. See F13 as a great example. So while nobody specifically thinks it, a large player base does matter for a multiplayer game. That doesn't mean swf doesn't cause issues. But it added a bunch of success to this game as well.
-
@Rezblaze said:
Devs shot themselves with that bullet a while ago when they reversed their decisions to disallow friend groups. All the way during the first few months of release.
SWF was an implementation done out of popular request. And you see how well this game stood that test.
It made a ######### ton of money. Which is the goal of every developer.

Not one use, when the total 120 seconds has been used up. The timer counts down while injured, and pauses when healthy.
If it pauses while healthy it actually sounds pretty good.

Do you mind saying what they are? I'm on Console so can't participate in the ptb but so far everything I've heard and read about sounds fairly balanced.
He slows down while collecting the blood orbs. There is an addon to get rid of the slow down. But I feel it's not needed.
He loses his power if he picks up a downed survivor. I think that's not needed either.

yea but they don't see whether the other 2 survivors are going too. So it is good only for you. But do you really needs this ? Hook saves should be a basic instict when to go - being nearby, uninjured, seeing something else on the map. You don't need perk for this. The old Kindredd was way more useful for the guy on the hook cause he knows they see each other and someone will come for sure, if he fails - another one etc till the last one and more importantly - they all can see if the killer is camping you and may just gen rush him .. Not possible with the new Kindred ...
Unless I misread it you see the other survivors. Which let's you know if you should leave your gen or not.
-
Guess it's just me who thinks being able to see if someone else is going for the save is awesome.
