It counters them because they can be dodged for playing in a way they judge unwanted.
Which is no different from killers dodging too many toolboxes.

Yes, they don't mind a Killer or Survivors disconnecting in the lobby, anyone should be able to leave a lobby without consequences.
What they don't approve of is to disconnect from the lobby purely from the information gained.
Giving Survivors the ability to see the Killer's name would, theoretically, raise the amount of lobby disconnects by 4 times.
Also, seeing the Killer's name would pretty much be a counter to the benefit they want Killers to have in the lobby.
That's literally why killers dodge though. Because of the information gained. I fail to see how it counters the gain killers get. Unless of course their name says Hag main or something like that.

You can message eachother on console, right?
They don't want Survivors to avoid Killers for "issues".
Plus it allows more than that, like having 4 people from 1 trial claim their Killer was toxic when that wasn't the case.
But it's fine that killers can use that information to dodge?

They've stated before that they want the Killer to have the advantage of knowing what's coming, while giving Survivors the advantage of chatting & strategizing beforehand.
All allowing the killers name to be seen does is let survivors dodge a player they've had issues with. The killer still gets the same information they had before. Also pregame chat is only a PC thing.

So you don't see a problem with survivors instantly being rescued form the hook, before killer even has a chance to leave? And tunneling will only lose you games because of bt and ds. Every killer knows it.
So hit the rescuer for being cocky?

There'll always be a need for punishment and lacking them before this change was a pretty huge downside.
Yes, there will be. But attacking a root cause of the need seems like a good thing to me.

@Boss said:

Nope, which is why punishments will come.
How is that better than avoiding the need for punishment? Killers have the option to dodge lobbies they don't like all the time. Wouldn't allowing survivors the same luxury lead to less DC's?
-
@Boss said:

And that's exactly what they don't want you to do.
They don't want people to block other people for using a playstyle they don't like facing.
Would you prefer they DC during the match instead?
-
Hey I'm still holding out hope for my idea of getting survival points for your time in the match.

There are people on both sides that are trying to make the game difficult for the other and it's having a rollover effect to the rest of the community.
People come here to voice their concerns and get shot down. Killers spout "Buh muh 4kher" and Survivors say that killers are using unfair tactics and both get called entitled and whiny in the process.
This is accurate af.

Regarding frame rate I am finding survivor on PS4 to be better than its ever been. Although I do agree with you its possible to get hit a looong time after you have been through a window. But since I play mainly killer I don't mind quite so much...
The Ruin thing has come back again. That was fixed for a while but now the skillchecks can be laggy again (although not as bad as it was before..)
Killer has always been worse than survivor. I think its better than it used to be but its been so long now, so many ups and downs I'm not really sure!
I also sometimes get the network error when trying to load into lobbies.
Huh. I thought it was just me having issues with skill checks.
My frame rates usually aren't too bad. Except with the Doctor. I'm always lagging into things when I play against him.
-
Other than slowing down how fast he gets his power by a bit he's fine.
-
Please no. Ash is annoying enough.
-
I don't really have an issue with either. I think a slight rework would be good though.

The main issue with this concept is that everyone would play either Meg or Claudette or Nea or some character with a top tier perk. It's good in theory but the choice of Survivors is already beyond dull with everyone playing the same 5 or so Survivors. I have plenty of friends who main Survivors with bad perks like Steve and Ace, and I personally have Jane and Ash at P3 as well. No one would play these Survivors because their perks are hot garbage.
There's another discussion to be had about so many Survivors being released with C tier meme perks but that's not a discussion for here.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/879354#Comment_879354
Even if the Ruin gets found very quickly it's still time that the Survivors spend looking for the totem, or hitting at least a few failed skill checks. The issue with Ruin is that even the worst case scenario still buys you about 20 seconds. It's why it's so much stronger than every other gen stall perk: it's 100% reliable to do at least something, and while perks like Corrupt Intervention and Pop Goes the Weasel may last longer they can be ignored or countered entirely while Ruin will always have at least some effect.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/880686#Comment_880686
It causes no harm to you to bring it as an extra perk. My point is that some of the top tier meta perks that are always included in builds should always be an option because the vast majority of people use them. It's really annoying that every single build has 2 or 3 slots taken by perks which are essentially mandatory to function.
But no perk is mandatory. I don't use any exhaustion perks. Or Ds, Adrenaline, or Borrowed Time. Those can arguably make your game easier. But they are hardly mandatory.
-
Old Laurie cosmetic would be great. Also the decayed mask for Michael.
Honestly an older lady survivor would be cool. I actually liked the suggestion earlier to have the arthritis perk. Not sure what others to use yet though.

Yeah but as many other people said, blood tracking isnt a viable way of surviving ya know? Sure it works great in stealth builds but stealth builds themselves aren't the best in the current game rn.
Stealth isn't the strongest. But Lucky Break is a good addition to them.
-
Lucky break is honestly decent. 3 minutes is a fair amount of time. Though I certainly wouldn't mind it being longer.
-
Or stop crying and play the game.
-
I assume the OP just couldn't safely move. I see nothing wrong with pausing the counter while the killer is with a certain distance.
-
While I understand where the OP is coming from I'd say no. I don't want arbitrary rules controlling my build. For instance, I don't use exhaustion perks. But your idea requires me to slot one.
-
I would argue for Borrowed Time to be distance based for two reasons. The first is consistency. The effect should be a consistent one. The second is a killer with a larger Terror Radius is put at a disadvantage compared to those with a smaller one. I propose a 24 meter minimum distance to keep it from triggering. With the trade off of Borrowed time no longer triggers during egc.

While I don't personally have a problem with either. Many people do. I've suggested before a small rework to both. In order to balance them out a bit.
For keys o suggest an extra gen be required to be finished before it can be used. By this I mean that the current requirement for the hatch to spawn. Is gens equal to the number of survivors alive plus one. I suggest making it so the hatch can only be opened with a key, if the number of gens completed is equal to the number of survivors alive plus two. This should relieve some pressure on killers.
As for Mori's. I'd rework the conditions a bit.
Cypress Mori would allow you to kill only your obsession. And only after you've hooked them at least once.
Ivory Mori would allow you to kill any survivor. But only once you've hooked 3 separate survivors.
Ebony Mori would allow you to kill every survivor. But only once all 4 survivors have been hooked at least once. And you have a minimum of 6 hooks.
These changes would make Cypress Mori more useful. At the same time make tunneling survivors off the hook no longer effective for a Mori.

I really liked the difficulty of Level 3. 1 was just boring and so is Level 3 now. Great!
The only change which was needed was the 2 egc saves and the Bug fix.
I thought they were called "Challenge" for a reason. Thats just sad. I probably have it done in one or two days. :(
Please consider there are Players that want difficult and challenging Challenges!
On the flip side. A large number of people thought they were too hard. They have to try and balance around what will make the largest number of players happy. It is unfortunate that you find them too easy. But they can't balance around the outliers.
-
This is so dumb it made my head hurt.
-
The over embellishment in this thread is unreal. No slow down build can make a gen take 5 minutes. Also double gen repair speed is literally impossible. Even with every speed up put together you wouldn't manage it.
-
I didn't expect them to change anything in the first rift. I'm pleasantly surprised.
-
Yeah the emblem system needs adjustments.

No.

I'm speaking during end game..the killer already has no real power there..and if they change bt that way securing kills will be virtually impossible and turn bt into an even more brainless perk..the premise is good but it's easily abused
Yeah I'd be fine with it deactivating during egc.

Guess they want bt to be uncountable then..lovely
It's counter is not camping. In my example above Freddy was completely right to camp me. Hell if they made bt distance based rather than TR I'd say have it not active during egc.

Also love all the people going "jUsT dOn'T dO tHeM!" You're supposed to be able to do them in order to complete the rift without paying additional cash for more rift tiers. And the challenges give you Bloodpoints: why should Bloodpoints be locked behind obnoxious grinds because "they're supposed to be hard lol."
Alot of the daily rituals are a pain in the ass as well. So I think your argument about the blood points is a bit off. I do think these challenges are a bit odd though. Not to mention far to luck based for my taste. However it's too soon to say BHVR aren't listening to the feed back. Realistically they weren't going to change anything from the first rift. I'm sure they are looking at the feed back and will hopefully improve with the next rift.

Still a free hit, but i don't considered that point. Maybe he needs a change, that the bar doesn't go down within his lullaby.
I've had the exact scenario the op had. In my case it was endgame. I also finished the last gen right in front of him. I knew I was going to get camped. Which was fine. I got unhooked by someone with bt. He hit me before I could even move. I made my run for the gates. And nearly made it. The only reason I didn't is the deep wounds counter counted down. I don't mind that he got me. But it does feel unfair that he counters a perk without doing anything. I think bt should be distance based like MYC is.
-
Spine Chill. It's gaining popularity but not really meta yet. At least from what I can see.
-
It's silly to think they'd change anything for the first rift. If the second rift is just as bad then yeah it's a problem.

Deep wound is the worst status in the game by a longshot. It isn't even slightly threatening, just tedious to deal with. Legion was fine. Deep Wound has never been fine.
I always disliked how ridiculously easy it was for Legion to injure everyone. I like the concept of Feral Frenzy. But it's just no fun to face. Legion really just needs a full rework at this point. Hopefully keeping the cool things like pallet vaulting. While making Legion a solid killer that is fun to face.

Well besides trapper the data would matter more if console and pc were separated imo.
It would be more informative for the playerbase. But since they don't balance separately between each platform it wouldn't really matter.
-
@TKTK said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/869896#Comment_869896
cause balance on console and pc are very different and it would explain why nurse is so low in kill rates, why freddy who is really popular on console has the highest kill rate on that chart and makes kill rates look better as a whole by adding console
Then the data matters. It just needs to be broken down by platform.

They also didnt specify if console was included or if it's pc only, if it's including console then the data doesn't really matter. I know Nurse got specific data on pc but the other graphs did not specify where they pulled from.
And why wouldn't the data matter if it included consoles?

The flaw here is far too many players are under the assumption that Plague NEEDS Corrupt Purge.
The reality is if survivors cleanse, great. If they don’t cleanse, also great.
There doesn’t need to be a redesign, adjustment, or additional debuff. It’s HOW she is played that determines how much influence she has on a survivors decision to cleanse or not.
And if they don’t cleanse it really doesn’t matter, not to any player that knows what they’re doing with Plague.
Which leaves killers frustrated because they aren't able to use the killers power. If you wanted to play Huntress because you like trying to land hatchets. And the survivors could deny you the ability to use hatchets somehow. You would be frustrated by that. That, at least to me is why her power needs a rework.
-
Oh lord. Okay. Firstly @Peanits did stress, repeatedly not to draw conclusions from these stats. There are a bunch of things that could be effecting the numbers. Secondly, even if they were without flaws, the average isn't that much higher then the 50% goal. So please don't make broad statements about how the stats prove this or that. They're a tool to give a broad idea of how things are. From what I can see they are pretty close to the balance they want. Also I don't think killers care about the sacrifices they are getting as much as if they are piping. When you played decently and the games ranking system says you lost that's going to cause irritation. I think they need to revisit the emblem system. The concept is good. The goals/performance required need adjustment.

Can't you guys, for once, admit you put out a mediocre killer and that's why no one is playing said killer?
You know, letting people know that you are aware would only improve community/devs relationship.
Guess I'll check back in 2 years, after the epiphany finally hit.
I see him at least once a gaming session. I'm also on PS4.
