I prefer empathy over bond. Reasons for are:
- You can see anyone who needs help anywhere. That's obviously the main reason, of course.
- In this "no heal meta", it basically becomes a global wide bond, especially against killers like Plague.
- Completely counters Knock Out which is great if you're playing solo.
- Can see where pallets are used where, where generators are and if they're being worked on, if someone is cleansing a totem across the map, etc. You basically can learn about the map while being on the other side of it, which is invaluable info as a solo survivor.
- If you're being chased, you can avoid bringing the killer in the direction of the weakened survivors much easier, helping prevent a massive snowball.
- Obviously works and synergizes well with any "let me heal you!" set up.
- You can see that useless Claudette self caring in the corner through sloppy butcher and thanatophobia. Now you know not to save them. c:
Other than the jab at my girl Claudette I agree.

Definitely depends what you're looking to get out of it. If you want info on where the killer is and where someone in need is, Empathy is the perk for you. If you want to know where teammates are when you need help, go with Bond.
Basically what I was going to say. Neither is better. Not in my opinion. They're just better for certain situations/depending on your goals.

You're a nancy. Nancy's are usually not that good in looping. My perk suggestions for you are: "Fixated", "Sprintburst", "Urban Evasion", "Spine Chill", "Balanced Landing" and "Self-Care". The killer can't kill you if he can't find you.
Lol. I want to argue. But as a Nancy main I can attest to my poor looping skills.

Reminds me of the time when I sat around a hook until a survivor died because all 3 of the other survivors were hiding around the hook. Then they accused me of camping "for no reason".
I was playing scratched mirror Myers by the way. I can see you hiding.
Why didn't you just pretend to leave then circle back for an easy grab/hit?

Why can't sprint burst get bumped up from 3 secs to 8 secs at least ?
Because it would be ridiculously broken.

If I get lagged into oblivion. Not just a spike either.

I'm looking at it on both sides. i consider it gen rushing if the game ends in 6-7 minutes (that may not sound like gen rushing, but in a normal match, that's like a blink of an eye!) And what comes out of it? A killer that lost miserably with little bps, and survivors having a very boring game with little bps.
But what ever you think of this, i'm happy we are at least trying to be civil about it, instead of childish bickering(for the most part).
How is that gen rushing? A single survivor, with nothing boosting their repair speed, can finish all the gens in 6:40 excluding travel time. If the killer can't stop them. That's on them. Now if you mean 4 toolboxes. Yeah, that's gen rushing.

ohhhh it's a wraith teachable I'm dumb
I used to main Wraith. That's the main reason I remember. His teachable perks are pretty meh.
-
It's gen rushing if they bring toolboxes. Otherwise I'm sorry. But no it's not rushing gens. It's doing your objective.
To the OP. If you aren't doing totems you are a fool. If everyone did them. Noed would be the worst perk in the game. Even if there is no Noed. It's 1,000 blood points and light bringer points for 14 seconds of your time.even if you cleanse all of them it's only 70 seconds.

@humanbeing1704 said:
whats predator I've genuinely never heard of this perk
It's a Wraith perk. It makes scratch marks appear closer together.
@Blueberry said:
I was thinking we could improve these perks a lot by having them also affect footsteps.
Light Weight would decrease running footstep sounds.
Predator would increase footstep sounds while running and walking.
This would be in addition to their current effects.
I also was having the idea of Light Weight making scratch marks appear a couple seconds delayed instead of its current effect of just scratch marks not lasting as long. This would allow for some better jukes mid chase.
Give ya'lls thoughts.
I actually really like this idea. I think you nailed a really solid addition for Predator. I also really like the Lightweight idea. It could also be changed to you don't leave scratch marks for the first 3 seconds after you start running. With a 20/15/10 second cooldown.
-
This again. I'm not going to go into my ideas again. I will simply say both Keys and Mori's need adjustment. Not massive nerfs. Some small adjustments to make them more fair for both sides.

This again...

If you think they have Ds just slug them and move to a new target. You get nearly the same pressure from slugging as you do a hook. In both cases they are not progressing gens. That said I do agree the timer should probably be shorter. I'd actually say make the timer shorter but pause it while in chase. Then if you are being tunneled they have been punished. And if you aren't then the shorter timer won't matter.
As for Bt. Yeah it does allow people to be way to cocky. I'm not sure how to balance it out though. I'd need to give that one more thought.

Unlike you I have used it and it was broken beyond belief. Now it is inline with other exhaustion perks. Since you never used it then your argument and comment in general is baseless and slow how little experience you have in the game. More than likely you are just lying.
I never said it didn't need changed. I said I didn't like the change they made. There's a difference. I used other exhaustion perks before. I just found they didn't really fit my playstyle.

No I know, I'm just going off of what you said AS if he was saying it...
Just in case that's what he's referring to... which I could be 100% wrong if it isn't ... but there was only so many things that were considered "counters" to pre-ner DS... so it was either this or enduring that he's referring to.
Fair enough.

if you think better: he can't cut through a bush with a ######### chainsaw! the gum thing isn't that stupid in dbd logic....
The one is a concession to maps being consistent. The other made my eye twitch. At least of it had been a trip wire or something I could have seen it. It would be terrible for balance. But it at least would make some sense.

Don't play two of them and haven't bought the third.

That wasn't a counter either... dribbling would waste more time than it would save it...
You'd also prolong the DS... so if you messed up the next 2 dribbles or just don't do them... than you spent all that time dribbling them for nothing.
I never said it was a good counter. But as I recall it was the counter people used.

What...
There was zero counter-play what do you even mean. Pre-nerf DS had no counter and it was essentially a free escape for a Survivor after a long chase...
Everyone could have it and you only needed to wiggle 40% of your bar to activate it as a non-obsession...
DS had one "counter" and it was Enduring... enduring cut the stun of DS down a bit... but that still doesn't mean they didn't get a free escape, which they could 100% exploit and extend for an even LONGER chase if possible.
If you go back to pre-nerf DS you'll see most people ran DS... there wasn't a time where I didn't encounter a DS in my lobbies. It wasn't till the nerf that you'd only see it once or twice... and it was mostly used by 1 or 2 Survivors.
You very rarely see it on 4 Survivors now, back than that was pretty common/common-ish...
I assume they are referring to dribbling.

More likely you're a liar
So that's a yes. Outside of getting Adept Nea, I didn't use it. I don't use exhaustion perks in general. I don't particularly care for them.
-
The majority of the time Ds counters tunneling. Will there be times that it punishes non tunneling behavior? Yes. Nothing works 100% of the time the way we'd like. But it does generally work as intended. Honestly if you want to counter Ds don't tunnel. That will counter it 90% of the time The rest of the time, slug them. Slugged or on hook they aren't doing gens. The amount of pressure is nearly the same. I will say Ds can certainly feel unfair during the end game. I'd even argue it should be tweaked to work differently during end game.
-
Lol. I can't even. They have a bug that people love so they "fix" it. I mean, I get why they did. They're afraid people will (or they somehow know people were) using the information to dodge. But how is that different from a killer who dodges cosmetics, a "toxic" name/cosmetics, or too many toolboxes? I just don't understand how one is acceptable to them. While the other isn't.

Only people complaining about it were the reason they changed it. They abused it and are upset they cant abuse it again.
I never used it. I also dislike the change. Care to make more baseless assumptions?
-
Killers complain about looping.
Okay I'll hide
Killers complain about hiding.
-
I would guess nobody plays him. I would bet you would see a pretty direct correlation between most popular survivor and most cosmetics.
-
This again? It's been done to death already. In short though. It's not free. You have to being the key (6,000 points minimum), find the hatch, and survive long enough to use it. Now, if you want to argue they shouldn't spawn in chests. That's a fair argument.
-
Unfortunately they have already said it's never coming back. Their reason being it leads to people dodging. I feel this argument rings hollow as nobody cares about killers dodging.

Thing is if the devs were at least listening just a bit the killer won't have to be changed 50 times to be right. I mean legion have been touched literally three times this year. What do that change ? nothing he is still as bad as before but took another nerfs on his way.
Legion was always an extremely flawed killer. I think they're trying different tweaks because they don't want to go into a full rework. Unfortunately a full rework is realistically the only way to fix Legion.

Why would killers complain about slugging? That's one of the ways they apply pressure. I don't hear survivors complaining about looping, DS, or dead hard, right? Because those things benefit them. Nobody complains when they benefit from something.
And the excitement factor of the game is largely based on rank. Because if you're in the red ranks, and not playing a killer with map pressure and a chase power, you're going to have a bad time. Period. Optimal survivors control the game and there is no balance for that because the vast majority of survivors are potatoes. I'm so sick of this hackneyed discussion, because there is no way for everyone to be happy. They just keep pointing fingers at the opposing role.
That was my point. Survivors aren't going to complain about things that benefit them. Just as killers won't complain about something that is to their benefit. Both sides go back and forth repeatedly about the same things. It gets exhausting. I'm basically a survivor main at this point. But I at least try to see both sides of everything.

You make it seem like they joined the game together and pre planned the whole scenario. This stuff happens every now and then just because a survivor wants to be funny and only cares about himself. I'm not saying what the other survivor did was good, he was being a really bad person. All I'm saying is there's no reason to break the games Terms of Service and DC.
There was though. The killer and second survivor had already ruined that game. They shouldn't be rewarded with points for that behavior.
-
@Blueberry said:
Just so you know, the devs have stated that admitting on the forums to doing bannable offenses can get you banned. Idk how strict that is in regards to DC'ing but it's been said.
Also, that is no reason to DC. You made misplays and could have even run DS to counter that.
Okay. I can't take you seriously anymore. You and me have had our fair share of disagreements. But I always respected your opinions. If you are going to try to blame the person who is the victim I can't take anything you say seriously. The killer was clearly working with the other survivor. Why the hell should the OP have stayed in a game with cheating scum like that? Even if you were correct about the supposed misplays on the OP's part, they should stay to be farmed why?
-
It's also possible that the timing of the release is partially at fault. In the states he released a few days after Thanksgiving and Black Friday. People might just not have the money at the moment to buy the new chapter.
-
Saying nobody likes Legion is incorrect. But it is a very small number who do. Most survivors hate Legion because they're annoying to face. Not strong. Just annoying. Most killers don't like Legion because they're pretty weak. Legion was always a poorly designed killer. At this point Legion needs the Freddy treatment. They need a from the ground up rebuild.

Firstly by making totem cleansing a priority at times when you really shouldn't (like when someone is hooked and you're the only one who can save them). And secondly by insisting on running away and jumping into lockers to heal at times when it would actually be a better idea to just let your teammate do it, such as when they're standing right there with We'll Make It.
Fair points. But that's idiot players. Not the perk.
-
@Fibijean said:
I see people screw their teammates over with perks like BT, Inner Strength and Deliverance all the time.
Just because some people misuse a perk, doesn't mean it should be removed from the game.
How can you screw your teammates with inner strength?
-
Slugging and camping is boring for survivors. I never hear killers complain about that. The excitement in a match is dependent on the killer. Not the survivors. The survivors can't make the killer take a chase. They can't make the killer apply pressure. Whether the match is an exciting back and forth, or a steamroll is largely down to the killer.
As for gens. They can't balance a game like this around the red ranks. I know red rank killers think everything should revolve around them. But it can't. There is far too big a gap in skill levels to do that. But I'll bite. What do you propose the devs do to relieve some of the pressure on killers?
-
I really hope this is a joke.
-
No. I've found them frustrating enough as it is without achievements added on.

I wonder if they could give him his own version of Billy's sprint. He whips his chainsaw around above his head in a frenzy as he sprints around the map. It wouldn't be as easy to control or snipe with as Billy's version. Also it should be slower. Maybe 150% movement speed.
-
Maybe turn Monstrous Shrine into a hex perk?
Hex-Mostrous Shrine. Your devotion to your task grants you the Entities favor. Survivors suffer from a 6/8/10% speed penalty to healing and generator repair speeds.
It could be spread between two totems as well. You have to break both in order to remove the full debuff.
-
Yes, please. I loved it. It was nice seeing if they were using their level one character.

That I don't get they introduce a new feature on it and....the feature is useless
Because of the limitations placed on it. Granted it's not entirely useless. But it hardly offset the nerf.
-
It is pretty useless now. I really wish the silent landing part was always active. That would have added a new element to the game.
-
Maybe a way to do this without being too exploitable is to limit the number of killers you could use. What I mean by this is you pick 3 killers each season. They have their own individual ranks that start at 15. All the other killers share a rank. Next season you can choose to keep those three killers separate, pick new ones, or only swap out one or two of them. This might allow for players to experiment with other killers with less pressure. While stopping people from just rotating through the list for easy games.

Indeed.
But they don't want to give Survivors the same ability to have the Killer end up with no advantage, nor do they want to remove that ability from the Killer to have them end up with no advantage.
They don't lose the advantage they get. They still get to see what items are being brought and adjust accordingly. The only thing they lose is being able to grief a survivor they are mad at from a past game.
