>The only reason it was good is because it opened up potential loops
That was exact issue with this perk tho, and exactly why it was nerfed.
My point is they took a good perk and made it nearly useless. If they tweaked the numbers while exhausted that would have been a fair change. Eliminating most of a perks use is just bad.
-
I take it they're changing it to you only get the stun reduction if you aren't exhausted? If so I have to disagree with that change. The only reason it was good is because it opened up potential loops. If the stagger reduction was lessened while exhausted that would have been a fair change. Removing it completely will kill the perk.
-
That is like saying I have no sympathy for survivors because looping exists. Just because some people on both sides act like asses, doesn't mean you say to hell with a particular side. All you can do is try to be a positive influence on the game/community.

You see that's where the problem lies. You say short range but anything under i'd say 30 is negligible and pointless. Perks like bond would honestly work better than voice. With most of the community not wanting voice in game i don't really see the point in working on a feature that no one will use.
I went with a short range to avoid turning every lobby into a potential swf. Which is why I also suggested adding a noise notification if coms were used. Making communication a potentially high risk choice. I can't say how many would use it or not. I just think it's an idea worth exploring.

Then it would only be useful for screeching at the killer when being carried and in game would have very little effect.
Hardly. Stealth killers would find it highly useful. I'd even say you could add a chance that using voice coms triggers a sound notification. That way it can still be useful to other killers. They could even add in radios to broadcast your voice farther. With the downside of triggering more frequent noise notifications and the killer being able to hear you at a longer range as well. My only condition would be a mute option would be a must.

Proper feedback and positivity. Thanks.
And I did say a "mute" option so that there isn't just a bunch of screaming 12yro in an ADULT GAME.
This topic has been brought up before. My response has always been the same. It needs to be short range. So as to avoid perfect swf level communication. And there needs to be a mute option for those who want to ignore toxic players. Or simply feel it harms they're immersion.
-
Not sure why you thought this would be unpopular. The majority of players are solo players. I prefer solo myself. At most playing with one other person.

There is a very small group of people that want voice comms, and a giant group that doesn't including the devs. It's not in the best interest of the games health as it would put a rise in toxicity. Higher than it is currently. There's far more negatives with adding it than positives.
If it was short range 16 to 20 meters. With a mute option. I'd disagree.

Anecdotally: I sit in purple ranks most of the time, and on average, people there tend to be competent and effective in most of the important ways.
That said, we're also currently in that weird post-rank reset period where nothing makes sense. Also, I have a feeling that the challenges have encouraged a lot of people to ignore playing "for real" in favor of getting their quest objectives done.
Pretty much this. I've noticed purple ranks seem to be the sweet spot. Your team is usually decent. And the killers seem to be fairly relaxed. Not camping or hard tunneling (mostly anyway).
As for how to deal with it. Well, unfortunately you just have to accept some games are going to be rough. Best you can do is try to eck out at least a safety and move to the next game.
-
I think in reality the game is slightly (and I do mean slightly) survivor sided. Not because that's the devs aim. But because it's nearly impossible to balance around such large gaps in skill. You can be in the red ranks and still be a potato. Add in the issues with map balancing and it becomes even worse.
-
I always feel better once I know what killer I'm dealing with.
-
Every now and again Michael would startle the crap out of me.
-
That map is great if you have Balanced Landing. And terrible without it.
-
How did you lose all your pressure? If you downed and hooked a new person you at worst kept the same pressure you had before the person was unhooked.

The reduced TR helps get closer to survivors and make it less likely that they'll reach the nearest pallet or jungle gym. Often times theres only 1 pallet near a gen, and survivors will start booking it to the nearest "safe" spot when they hear your TR. Monitor helps mediate that. You're more likely to catch a survivor out of position.
That's where I thought your head was at with it. Definitely an interesting Bubba choice. Probably pretty effective though.

Help's gets closer to survivors and patrols hooks easier.
I figured. It's just an interesting choice for a Bubba.

This was my build and preferred addons that I was using to play at red ranks and did QUITE well with.
I'm curious. Why monitor?

Inner Strength. Bond. Iron Will. Spine Chill. All of those are great in my opinion.

Than the Date they purchased the game?
Im only saying this because lots (I say lots because old players leave the game and new ones come in) Killers/Survivors complaining about balancing when they have no idea what it was like at the begining of the game or few patches ago before they voice.
That is a fair point. However you couldn't link us console scrubs accounts. Even if you could my number would be hugely padded. I bought the game in October (or close to it) of 2017. I couldn't get into the game and didn't really start playing until June of 2018.
-
I would assume the changes will be in the chapter 14 ptb.
-
To me it's more about if I feel I played well. I don't particularly care if I escape if I played a good game. The same goes for killer. I don't really care how many kills I get as long as I played decently.
-
I think it's not that they want a 2k every match. I believe the idea is they're aiming for a balance that has that overall result. Meaning if you look at the kill rate across all the matches in a given time they will average out to a 2k. The basic idea being if you achieve that killers aren't getting steamrolled with 4 man escapes. And survivors aren't getting 4k wrecked every match.

This. I could careless about the cosmetics personally. But it's a nice thing to do.

I couldn't agree more. But toxic bums have other things to say. And based on past experience. It might not be a fun ride. Already getting plenty of DCs.
We'll see how it goes huh?
I'd be surprised if they nerfed him honestly. I feel like he is the bar for a strong, balanced killer. I don't play Billy, but I do enjoy playing against him. Only thing I dislike about him is his chainsaw hitbox is a bit big in my opinion. Otherwise they need to leave him alone.

You can do gens, or go find a door. If they just stand there on the hatch then that is a really, REALLY dumb play. Due to egc hatch standoffs don't happen. Killer finds hatch and closes it, good for them. Survivor finds hatch and jumps in, good for them. Survivor jumps in hatch while killer is riding their ass defenseless in stopping them, good fo... wait that don't sound right.
Would you rather have hatch stand offs back?
@Write_By_Daylight said:
Because Survivor Mains cried.
The person who gets there first now wins the hatch game. I don't see how hatch stand offs are better then if the killer finds it, they close the hatch.
-
My Claudette. I only did her for the achievements. I see no reason to bother with anyone else.
-
Okay. New plan. Release legacy for everyone but the OP.
-
Basically nobody complains about Billy though. Because he's balanced. If they do nerf Billy I think they will have truly lost it.

Those are all the changes that'll be in the PTB, but nothing is ever final. This is a live game and if it turns out that these changes aren't enough, there could always be more down the line. We'll just have to wait and see.
All I would say is to proceed with caution. I personally think you guys (and gals) got this perfect. I think pushing it any farther would be a mistake.
-
Okay. I kind of want Gaston as a killer now.
-
A halberd would be cool if they ever did a medieval knight. A cutlass for a pirate. A straight sword for a crusader. Lastly if Chapter 14 is really going back to something involving the Yamoka clan a naginata would be awesome.

You argued using Self Care and Botany for healing was a waste of perk slots. I'm arguing the combo makes Self Care heals manageable as well as healing your team faster.

2 perks to do the job of one... very optimal.
If only Botany effected all healing speed. Not just Self Care. Wait....

Agreed. I think the majority of people feel Spirit needs some slight, emphasis on slight tweaks. Some will call for hard nerfs. Others feel she's perfect as is. I think these people are the outliers. I personally have no particular issue with her. But as they are going to make changes. I really want BHVR to approach this very carefully.

Moris are most definitely not "fair" otherwise people wouldn't disconnect straight away during the offering screen to cancel the match.
I rarely use moris myself because I always notice how much easier the game is if the first survivor literally gets thrown out of the game within a minute. The thing is though moris are -animation wise- awesome. Everytime a new killer gets released I immediately search for a mori clip.
Question is how do you keep moris without making them irrationally strong while keeping them useful?
The best I've come up with is modifying the requirements to mori a survivor.
Cypress Mori would allow you to Mori the obsession after the first hook.
Ivory Mori would allow you to Mori 2 survivors once all survivors have been hooked at least once.
Ebony Mori would allow you to Mori all 4 survivors after all 4 have been hooked at least once.
I feel like they'd still be powerful, but you could no longer just tunnel a survivor down.
As for keys. Why not add an extra gen needs to be finished to use the key? So in order to have a 3 man hatch escape all gens would need to be completed. For a two man escape 4 gens need to be done. And 3 gens for a one man escape. This would take pressure off the killers a bit. While still making keys fairly strong.
As a side note. I really wish they'd remove broken keys. Or massively up the aura reading abilities. That or make broken keys require you to succeed a series of skill checks to use to unlock the hatch.
-
@NMCKE said:
Keys have two functions:
- Aura Reading
- Opening Black Locks (The Hatch)
Key's aura reading reading needs a huge buff in my opinion because it's rarely used.
- All keys should have Gold Token built into their base.
- All keys should have a higher duration.
Key's opening the Hatch needs to be removed because skipping your primary objective is a no-go.
- Keys can open the hatch, but it takes the survivor 20 seconds to do so.
- Killer is notified when a survivor tries to open the hatch.
- Key is used up if the survivor fails or succeeds (unless they have a milk-stone add-on).
If you want them to be useless sure.
Keys are as fair as a Mori.
-
A 5 second bt effect would be fine to me. I'd add it needs to deactivate once the gates are powered. I would also add the rescuer doesn't get the safe unhook bonus points. And takes the emblem hit like any unsafe unhook. I say it would be fine since it only punishes scummy killers.
-
Completing a single tier takes 8,000 xp. Assuming 500 xp per match. It takes 16 matches to complete a tier. Multiple that by 70 tiers and you get 1,120 matches. Assuming you can get in 4 matches an hour that's 280 hours of game time or 4 hours a day. These numbers are without the archive challenges.

I disagree with a lot of this.
As someone who plays both sides at rank 1 a lot, there are very few "campers" or "tunnelers". What there are, are a lot of people who scream those things when it really isn't camping or tunneling and they're just salty.
Survivors dependent on meta perks? Hardly. Survivors can run zero perks and they are still the power role.
The ranking system is awful, that we can agree on.
Playing solo survivor is not stressful whatsoever. It's literally relaxing right now. It needs to be made much harder.
Maybe at rank 1 there isn't. But I can assure there are plenty in the purple ranks. Solo survivor is fun if your team is competent. If not it's typically a ######### show.
I will agree that you don't have to run bt and Ds.

Telling someone to “git gud” is some pretty bad advice, Especially when it was is said to new players who really need some advice. We can all learn new ways to play the game and how to improve but having some advice given to you really does help with that.
So instead of saying “git gud”, tell the person how to improve. You could be talking to a new player for all you know.
I literally had this exact argument with someone on here a couple of weeks ago.
