Depends how you play your Freddy. If you are that kind of guy who uses Paint Brush and Swing Chains or Swing Chains and Jump Rope, compared with all the Slowdown Perk, it is not about the actual Strength of the Killer, more about how annoying it is to go against.
From my experience, people have not that much of a problem vs Freddy. However, if Freddy is using all this Slowdown-Stuff, it is highly annoying to play against him and then I see people DC. And Freddy is so much more than just massive Slowdown.
If you were using a normal Build, I dont know. Might be coincidence.
That's a terrible reason to DC. I know people don't like slow down Freddy. But there are much more annoying things to play against in this game.
-
This wouldn't prove a balance issue. This would also be pointless. They're aware balance issues exist. The problem is trying to balance the game around massive skill gaps. I know everyone is obsessed with what happens at rank one. But the player base is mostly not rank one. Balancing around a small minority is not a good idea.
-
If anything I'd prefer the change bt so stealth killers can't negate it.

Please stop with the "Bad spirits" argument, its the same as me saying "noob3 got mindgamed? BAD SURVIVOR" the person in question isnt important, the point is the killer in that case or survivor vs the spirit made a good play and mindgamed the other to survive.
I didn't say anything about bad Spirits. But let me rephrase. A good killer is less likely to fall for a trick then a bad one. Falling for a mind game doesn't make you a bad player on either side. But a good player is less likely to fall for it.

She has counterplay. The thing that survivors don't like about her is the fact that you can't sit at a pallet and press spacebar to win like you can with every other killer.
I said it was limited. Not nonexistent.

Okay, it seems we have a decent amount of common ground.
But here's the kicker: Let's see how long it takes for the devs to implement fundamental change (if at all). Nurse has already received sweeping changes.
And notice some of the wording you used: "I'd like to see" and "I hope". Yeah, I hope the devs do the right thing too, but so far I haven't heard of any plans to address SWF, nor have I heard of any plans to make sweeping changes to map design.
Well I hardly wield the influence to effect changes.

You missed the point of my post entirely.
"Fun" should not be the sole reason for nerfing a killer, because "fun" is entirely subjective. If certain survivor players got their way, I guarantee there would be very few killer players having "fun."
If a killer is getting 4k's too consistently, or there's something specifically broken about their power (*Legion*), that's one thing. That's not why survivors want Spirit changed.
I got your point. And yes, fun by itself can't be the sole reason. But that's not the root of the issue with Spirit. The root is counter play is very limited. There's a handful of tricks you can try. And most good Spirit players won't fall for them. I don't think most survivors mind dying. They mind feeling like there's nothing they can do. While that's not exactly true with Spirit. It's not that far off either.

I'm not having fun against Trapper. Can we make it so that he only has one bear trap and it's a guaranteed escape?
Dude it's a balancing act. You understand they are trying to balance around all skill levels. To ensure the most players possible enjoy the game as much as possible.

Friend, they changed one map (and even that map has a generous number of safe pallets and strong loops).
There are still plenty of maps that need attention. What do you expect a Wraith to do against good survivors on Haddonfield?
As for SWF, they need to figure something out. It's common sense that four people with voice comms are much more efficient than solo players. The devs could tack on a repair and healing speed debuff for the time being. That would bring their efficiency closer to solo players.
Yes. I said they have started. As in they've begun to try to address it. Not they finished. If you're expecting me to argue Haddonfield is fine you'll be disappointed. I agree various maps need attention. I'd even suggest in the short term they start by blocking off problematic windows. That would help while they work towards larger changes.
What you've suggested for swf (I think I've seen suggested before) is about the only way I can see to combat their advantage. Maybe 15% penalty for 3 man swf. And 20% for a 4 man swf. I feel like two man doesn't really need a penalty. Though I suppose 10% would be okay.
I'd like to see small changes for the low and mid tier killers implemented with each chapter and mid chapter patch as well. Like let Trapper start with and be able to carry all his traps. I hope the start to try little things like that. Then continue to add them as needed.

Here's the thing. The devs have a history of catering to survivor mains. A lot of the nerfs survivors received did not address core issues. Another way to look at is these survivor nerfs did not go far enough. How much longer do we have to wait for fundamental change?
The devs still have not touched SWF nor have they updated the maps, which are the main reasons survivors have an inherent advantage.
And yet, Nurse received a sweeping nerf. Let's just assume for the sake of argument that the devs are really trying to balance the game. Why not make these Nurse changes along with SWF nerfs and map design updates? That would make the transition smoother and not give either side too much power. But by the look of it, the devs will be nerfing Spirit in about two months, but I haven't seen any sign of SWF being addressed or maps getting updated.
Do you get it now?
Also, a lot of us were expecting Nurse to have her add-ons gutted. We were prepared for that. But we did not expect them to impose a ridiculous change to her base power. And when many of us provided our feedback as to why the change is bad, it was largely ignored. It's almost like the devs were determined to see this nerf through no matter what.
My point was they aren't just listening to one side. They have started to change maps. As for swf, what would you like them to do? Short of removing it there's not alot of options. I personally would like to see the low and mid tier killers buffed. And they might be working on that internally. I would agree there is alot that needs work. But I want them to do it properly. Knee jerk reactions from the devs have always been bad.

So, what you're saying is, the side with the higher skill cap is the one always facing against 4 people?
I'm saying both sides have deal with 4 other people. So that can't be used as an argument for how much skill either side takes.

But how does that factor into your skillcap? Are you ALWAYS facing 4 other opponents?
Because you have to factor for these things. You have to plan around your team farming and sandbagging you. Your team can be far more dangerous than the killer.

Tell that to all the people who have farmed and sandbagged me.

Right, but those 3 people are working the same goal as you are, and if you don't complete that role as 4 people, you still have a chance to succeed (as far as the game is concerned) a different way, the hatch. And if you don't get the hatch, you still have a chance to get the door. Which, admittedly, killer does get EGC chance for, too. But, still, you have 5 gen door escape, hatch chance, and door chance, and killer has 2: 3-12 hooks or delay the door.
That's my reasons for not thinking survivors have a higher skillcap than survivor in general.
In specific, I think the highest skillcap are players that play both. In my opinion, the best Hunter is the one who's been hunted before. And the one who's been hunted before knows how to survive when they've seen what hasn't worked against them.
That's just it though. You're basing this on the idea that they are actually working towards the same goal. You can never rely on your team to do their part towards escaping. They may be totem hunting. Looting chests. They could be Urban Evading around the map. You don't know what they're going to do. You then have to try to figure out what role you're playing that game based on your team.
All of that before you get to the killer. As you try to figure out what killer it is. What perks you're facing. If you end up in a chase what mind games will they try.
See you seem to be coming at this under the assumption your team will be competent and pulling their weight. That's alot rarer then you'd think.

Unfortunately, the devs only considered input from one side of the community.
The devs were out of line with the base kit nerf.
Yup. That's why they nerfed exhaustion, healing, and pallet vacuum. Because survivors were calling for it. Get real. They've nerfed both sides plenty over the years. Pretty sure survivors weren't calling for those nerfs I mentioned above. The devs make the nerfs they do, to try to balance out the game for the greatest number of players. I don't agree with every change they make. But can we dispense with the "they only listen to survivors" crap. It's getting old.

I consider the nurse nerf a blatant pander for casual players who aren't even retained players they do impluse buys though.
Uhh or alot of people hated playing against Nurse. Not just the "casuals" either. Which is the same reason they're looking at Spirit. Because people hate playing against a coin flip killer. Personally I don't give a damn if they nerf her. Or leave her untouched. But let's not pretend it's because of pandering to "casual" players. She's simply not fun for the majority of the player base.

Moving the goalposts. I've found a flaw in your logic. You're changing the premise to fit your own goal.
"So you believe that killers are weaker than survivors, and killers can only win if survivors make mistakes?"
This is called "strawmanning." You're deliberately misrepresenting me to make it easier to attack.
I think killer is harder simply because you must be aware of 4 people, not 1 person with the possible (and in higher ranks, probable) 3 other people who will be helping them. You have to succeed at doing that more than 4 other people. You have to do that better than 4 people. All you have is you, and "take this power with you."
And on a personal note: I respect the OPs opinion. I do not personally believe it, but it's OKAY for him to have it. I'm OKAY with him not having the same opinion as me. And everyone here. We're should ALL be good with that. So we can talk about Unpopular Opinions on here without our toys getting taken away by the grown-ups.
And now because you've read this far, Drag Leatherface:
https://i.pinimg.com/originals/36/d0/64/36d064397667656c7b8a3b62d555f388.jpg
Every survivor has to be aware of four people as well. The obvious threat of the killer. And the more subtle but potentially far more detrimental effect of your team. Making correct plays requires you to be aware of all four people on both sides.

No, that would mean you have a speed boost that prevents the killer from double tapping. And as to the second part, there’s no reason why you should be in a situation where you die to the collapse since it’s so long and forgiving.
No it's not. When a teammate opens the gate when they shouldn't have it can and at times will kill you.

Not really the survivor still gets a speed boost from being hit.
At most the attack cool down should be reduced a lot though, like 80-90% maybe
I was thinking you hit the healthy survivor. They get the speed boost. Moving them out of the way of the injured survivor. Thus giving you the down.

A second chance is a second chance. If adrenaline is bad why do 2-3 of the survivors in my red rank lobbies always run it?
I didn't say it was bad. It's a fine perk. Ds is an anti tunnel perk.

Are you really trying to say adrenaline isn't a second chance perk? There are so many games where someone goes down, and while the killer is on attack cooldown / going to go pick them up adrenaline activates and they get another shot at a chase. That's the definition of a second chance. Or someone who is slugged gets up, etc etc.
And for every time that happens there's another 10 times it has no effect. You can make the argument it is one. But it usually doesn't do anything.

The original person I quoted said Ruin would only get buffed because some people are sore loser. he implied that Ruin is used by people who need to win, so I pointed out all the second chance perks Survivors get while he's complaining about ONE Killer perk.
Now granted: NoED is also a second chance perk; it's a second chance to down a number of Survivors (depending on Killer skill). I will mention this in all fairness.
As you said survivors would use any excuse when countered your list of second chance perks you can see where I mistook your point. Fair enough though.

I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of hate but I want to address what I believe leads to most of the toxicity from this community. It's the idea that many people hold in which every match is supposed to be "fun" for every individual.
Asymmetric vs games are not designed for every person to always have fun. Your fun always comes at the expense of someone else's fun. I played a bunch of matches in a row this weekend as survivor and I was sacrificed over and over and over again. Was it fun? Of course not! I got REALLY irritated after a while. But then I did finally escape and it felt great!
I know what I'm saying is totally obvious but I feel like people do feel a sense of entitlement over fun in this game. If they lose a match it's often the devs fault because something is "unbalanced." But often the issue could have been worked around had a different perk been equiped. Not saying everything in this game is perfect but I wish people could just be a little more gracious about losing matches.
Every match should be fun. But that's pretty much impossible. The key, to me at least. Is learn to have fun in matches in a variety of ways. If escaping or 4k is the only way you can have fun you'll be disappointed alot.

There's always an excuse as to why Survivors aren't bad for using their second chance perks, but Killers are bad/tryhard if they don't obey the Survivor Rulebook For Acceptable Killer Perks.
Here I thought I simply don't agree with your definition of a second chance perk. As for killer perks. What killer perk did I say couldn't be used? That's right. I didn't. If you want to use Ruin, go for it. Or any other perk for that matter.

Imagine calling Ruin users sore losers while Survivors have Adren, D.Strike, Borrowed Time, Camaraderie, Deliverance, Inner Strength, Second Wind, Solidarity...And those are just second chance perks.
Nevermind all the ones that give Survivors increased running speed to go from pallet to pallet.
But sure, Killers are sore losers for trying to fight back in the 4 minute genrush meta. How dare Killers use ONE freaking perk while Survivors have literally more second-chance perk choices than they can use at once.
Hypocrite much?
Except half that list is absolute trash. As for the other half.
Adrenaline rewards you for completing your objective. It's a time saver. But hardly a second chance.
D-strike counters tunneling. If it activates I'm not going to feel bad for you. You earned it.
Borrowed Time counters your camping. Again I don't feel bad for you.
Inner Strength is a second chance? I thought it was a heal you earned by completing the task you were set.
Point is, you position on second chance perks is laughable. Dead Hard is pretty much the only second chance perk. Even it is a buggy mess.
