Because survival and Objective give you ######### for points. Boldness is pretty easy to max. Altruism can be as well. A bit harder, but still doable. Objective, unless you run Prove Thy Self you don't get jack. Survival unless you escape also gives you practically nothing.

Good lord, the amount of whining in this thread. It's literally a weaker SB.

Omg i hope not. Imagine dealing with 3 hit validations in the current game state. If that happen as soon as a survivor is downed i can see how miserable his match will be by being either face camped or tunneled to hell even more.
Except those are hits they shouldn't have been getting anyway. All the validation does is ensure the person who actually acts first on something gets priority.
-
@GannTM said:
If you people stopped feeding him altruism and do gens, maybe people will stop camping with him. But no, you want to blame the killer for your own mistakes.
Sometimes this is true. Unfortunately this strategy with a Bubba in solos is almost a guaranteed 3k If not a 4k. Bubba downs and camps first person. They rush gens. Bubba downs and camps second person. Gens finish. Bubba finds at least a third survivor with Noed and camps them. Especially effective if he has No way Out, and Remember Me.
Realistically what can an average solo group do against that? Hell the average swf would probably struggle. I'm not saying Bubba needs a nerf, but dismissing it as an issue caused by survivors is hardly a fair assessment.
-
Because her power is ranged. His has a shorter timer and requires you to maneuver around lots of obstacles. I think they're both pretty solid in terms of power and balance at the moment.
-
As a survivor I always avoided them in my bloodwebs. Now I wish I had them to use for the aura reading.

I haven't seen it mentioned. Of course I could have missed it. I was referring to her nerf a couple of years ago though. All anybody wanted was her addons toned down.

@Clowning said:
It's genuinely true. And there's always the same argument of 1v1 having to have a "counterplay" and it has to be "fun to face", which means Killers either end up either feeling janky as hell or straight up don't stand a chance. I really get the issue that it should be fun to verse a Killer, but this is a 4v1 game, not a 1v1, there has to be a better way.
Aside from the sometimes ridiculous hitboxes Huntress is probably the best example of a fun 1vs1 killer.

It's not a Spirit thing, its an any killer that prevents easy time for survivors. For some reason, people in this game can't handle losing or making mistakes and want the devs to make it easier and easier.
I'm sorry but no. Survivors hate killers that are miserable to face. Old Billy is a prime example of a fun strong killer. Nobody asked for Nurse to be gutted. Aside from one build you rarely see Blight get complaints. Or Oni. Power level has never been the reason people hate Spirit.
@topic I haven't seen many Spirit complaints lately. I can't see if her nerf was too much or too little yet. I've only seen a couple of Spirits since.

Ace's perks are not great on their own (and literally do nothgin for you when you try adept), but it least they work reasonably well in certain builds: Ace in the hole fits perfectly in for scanvenger builds with plunderers and appraisal. Open handed greatly increases the value of already good perks like bond and kindred, can also help you with plunderers, visionary or windows of opportunity. Up the ante is pretty trashy, but with slippery meat and all survivors bringing salt lips in can work like very second game.
Ashs perks are worse, imo. You pretty much have to throw the game to get mettle activated most of the time. Sure there are games were all fits together and it is a game changer. But then there will be nine other games where you play stupid to get your stacks, effectively killing you or your team. Flip flop only works somewhat "consistently" with Power struggle, but getting that to work can be even more difficult than activating mettle, at least in solo queue. There are only a few situations were you will be left on the ground long enough to recover to 50% on a pallet (being tunneled of hook and left an the ground bc of ds, being slugged for 4k). And even if you get that, most of the time another survivor will come to pick you up. Or you could just use unbreakable directly instead of wiating for the killer to pick you up. You really need a 4-man for that to work. Then it can be real fun (and frustration for the killer). Buckle Up we just do not need to talk about, it may be THE WORST of every survivor perk.
Yes, Ace's perks combo with others, but I took the question to be looking at the perks by themselves.
-
Trying to think who is the worst reminded me how many terrible perks are in this game. Killer I think I'd have to say Huntress. All of her perks are really bad. Survivor either Ash or, as much as it pains me to say, Ace.

It lost it's PC player base. It was still huge on console.

As far as I am aware people were saying F13 was already dying before the lawsuit stuff started..
we obviously don’t know if they had other updates planned and what would have happened but it’s not safe to say F13 would have succeeded
It wasn't dying, but they went about 5 months with no content because they upgraded the game engine. That hurt the game alot.

Firstly, did you call my statement a theory which is not true. Because the facts speak for themselves. Second: Your statement: BHVR took 2 years for a system that could be ready in 2 minutes and third: That many good survivors have a low escaperate or good killers have a low kill rate I think is unlikely and simply untrue. Do you have statistics that prove otherwise ? I don't think so.
Firstly you call hardly call anything you said a fact. It's opinion at best.
Secondly, they did spend two years to develop this system. In no way should this garbage pile have taken two years to develop.
Third, watch any competent streamer. Otz struggles far more than he used to. He has plenty of low kill games. Obviously I can't provide stats as they don't exist. Even if they did Bhvr wouldn't share anything that conflicts with what they want.
In short, if you're happy with the system, great. I'm glad you enjoy it. The vast majority, at least on the forums haven't.

What you claim is simply not true and has nothing to do with theory. These are facts and facts do not lie.
What part is incorrect? They wasted two years, that's a fact. It fails to account for actual skill. That's a fact. So where's the lie?
-
@PNgamer said:
hey folks,
To develop another system (like the current one) would take much more time. Now imagine if the developers calculated the MMR differently. Then there would be only farm rounds to achieve a higher MMR or ? and that would definitely be a pure disaster for Dead by Daylight.
BHVR has made the right decision here
Did BHVR make the right decision to tell us what the win condition is ? I don't think so. They should have kept it secret, because that might have ensured that players would have stayed true to their playstyle.
Should the developers release the secret number ? Definitely NO, cause of Toxic City.
That is only my opinion. What is your opinion about it ? Let´s discuss
greeting
There's a couple of problems with your theory. Firstly the already spent two years to come up with a system that should have taken two minutes. Secondly, it doesn't actually work. Plenty of great survivors have low escape rates. Plenty of great killers will have low kill rates.
-
Agreed. I'd happily delete that chapter.

Brutal Strength has actually never changed
Back when it had 40%, base pallet breaking speed was 3 seconds
Nowadays its 2.7 or 2.6 seconds, the "nerf" to Brutal was to compensate for the new change
Glad I'm not tripping. I was sitting here trying to remember if it had been 40% at one point.

Dude with the boon totem i heal on average now like 6 or 7 times per game because i do a LOT of protection hits now, knowing that i have a literal infinite healing source which heals pretty fast
So, you waste alot of time healing now. Which means you aren't spending that time on gens like you would have before.

Infinite vs 3 heals?
You vs whole team?
What downsides? Killer doesn't have time to snuff your totems and you can just do it again. There is no downside.
Again, 3 with no perk involvement.
Killers can easily snuff them, I've watched them do it alot. So yes, it can be a significant time sink.

Boon totems are like old selfcare (other than the healing mid chase aspect) med kits are strong and should be changed too but boon totems don't stop being a problem because med kits are a problem. Also what are the downsides? other than the range they seem pretty downside free.
Range, time invested for the setup, and how easy it is for your setup to be undone.

you clearly aren't high mmr then no offense but one of these has unlimited heals and the other one has a limit so idk if I would ever say they are the same strength that's ludicrous
Considering nobody knows their mmr I find arguments centered around this pretty pointless.
Yes, a medkit has limited heals. Realistically though how many times will you heal in a match? 2 to 3 at most I'd say typically.
Somebody has to spend at least 14 seconds to bless a totem. Assuming the totem stays up, which it usually didn't in my experience. Add to this you often had to run across the map to make use of said totem.
Meanwhile a purple medkit with gel dressing and scissors would give me 3 heals at a faster rate. I can even use perks to add both speed and extra heals if I want.
In short, medkits are much more efficient and practical. Boons have higher potential value, but come with sufficient drawbacks to not be worth running in my opinion.
-
No? It's what make mind games possible in the first place.
-
I have to disagree. They're no stronger then medkits. The downsides are actually a pretty decent balance in my opinion.
-
Windows. I love information perks.
-
I just did it. I blessed one totem, then blessed a different one.

I don't disagree. I'm saying if they want to "win" that's going to be the easiest way.
-
Blood points.
-
I've said in another thread I'd like to see a rework. Personally I'd like it to operate a bit like No Way Out. You get a stack for each different survivor you hook up to 4 stacks. You get 30 seconds per token. Once you hit a survivor after the last gen pops the timer starts.

If you are using boons, with how spectacularly busted they are right now - expect to be tunneled down and camped out. Sorry, not sorry.
Also - SBMM is really wonky right now. It could be that killers have been put up against ultra BM SWF sweatsquads with 20x their hours multiple times in a row and are now used to having to play sweaty themselves (while being seriously PO'd).
I know from my own perspective that I'm going in a lot harder game-wise, because I've had so many SWFs just totally steamroll me recently and teabag me all the way to the exit gates that I'm just looking to kill someone ASAP to stand a chance. By the time I realize that you are of a similar skill level to me (and not dozens of times better), it's probably too late.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2598832#Comment_2598832
A very different time, where almost nobody (devs included) knew what they were doing. Killers also had fancy toys back then, like classic Ruin.
'Things were worse at x time so your complaints are invalid now' is a silly argument.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2598887#Comment_2598887
If you care about MMR, sure. Which is how it's supposed to work.
Play sweaty and your MMR will rise, so that you start getting matched with equally smelly people.
Take it easier and you should be matched against more chill people.
It was actually working fairly well, before this patch. No idea what got broken.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2598945#Comment_2598945
OP - protip. If Sluzzy agrees with you about something, that's pretty much proof positive that you are wrong :).
You are way over valuing Boons.
-
These comments, I swear nobody has a sense of this games history anymore.
@topic since mmr why would killers do otherwise? All the system cares about is kills now. It's practically begging you to tunnel.
-
@CashelP14 said:
Think this is just a dead hard buff.
Here's the main reasons:
- Speed boost
- Killer hit cooldown
- Killer won't know when you used it
- Unhooks are guaranteed
This would make every killer cry.
There's a speed boost from DH anyway.
The cooldown could be lessened for that type of hit to compensate.
The animation could be kept minus the actual forward movement.
I'm not sure how you figure the last one.
-
I like this idea actually. Remove the dash, so there's no more DH for distance. You only get the distance if you eat a hit and go into deep wounds.

So let me try to get your logic straight....
NOED = You did nothing to deserve it...Are we good so far ?
Now let's look at your logic for survivor perks...Somehow they're "earned" by messing up and getting hit or downed or put on hook...?
BT = Don't tunnel and it can be avoided
Unbreakable = can pick them up and avoid it
DS = Don't tunnel and it can be avoided
Just like you can avoid NOED by clearing bones.......?
See the flaw in your logic ? Or should I point out more
Everything in the survivor list excluding DH is a counter to things a killer might try to do for easy pressure. It's a risk vs. reward system. Personally I think that's a good thing.
Noed has no requirement to trigger. Hence why I compared it to DH since it feels cheap. As I stated earlier in the thread, I have no issue with Noed. I'd like to see Noed reworked and brought in line with other end game perks though.

NoeD is a perk killers can bring to counter survivors doing gens and ignoring totems.
Survivors can bring perks like Small Game or Detectives Hunch, or and Map item to counter possible totem related killer perks like NoeD.
Killers don't currently have a way to counter Boon perks since they changed Thrill of the Hunt to only slow Blessing, and the closest you could come is using multiple perks like Undying\Retribution\Thrill - and those are Hex perks that can be Blessed or Cleansed without the ability to relight, making them almost useless against most Boon\Totem builds.
NoeD also doesn't activate if the only remaining totems are Boon totems, not Dull.
As I said earlier in the thread, I don't mind Noed. I would like to rework it to be more in line with other end game perks though.
