I know nothing about it so I have no idea how to feel.
-
Stop being so dramatic. Boons will be popular for a week or two. Then back to the meta we go.
-
They haven't mentioned it as far as I'm aware. So I'd say no.
-
Your complaints are over dramatic to say the least. Spirit wasn't gutted. Slinger nerf was an odd one though. Trapper saw massive QoL buffs. Plague is nowhere near the worst killer. She might even hit low A tier with her buffs.
As for killers getting tired, everyone is getting tired. Mmr has hurt the game massively in my opinion.

I’m not opposed to medkits that much for what they do, but it’s mainly their add ons. Gel Dressings for a green add on with no downsides give you 2 extra heals which is nuts. The scissors and that brown add on make you heal faster than another survivor healing you, which is way too much time that is saved. Don’t even get me started on Syptic Agent, you can’t argue that add on doesn’t need to be toned down.
Gel dressings adds one heal, not two.

yeah you can do you play vs sweaty swf every game? if yes you have high mmr if no you dont have high mmr
That proves nothing. Especially since they stated the entire system is based on kills/escapes. They've basically guaranteed every game will be sweaty.

Look, I just want the yellow offerings back. I miss the Ledgers and Plates and Clapboards. Sure it was mostly clutter, but it was cool clutter.
I want a bunch of stuff deleted personally.
-
Just delete both. They just clutter bloodwebs.

At high level mmr?🙃
Why do people ask these questions? You literally can't know if you have a high mmr or not.
-
Adrenaline has to be earned so it's fair.
DS has already been nerfed hard. It will only effect you if you tunnel, and since it's an anti-tunnel perk it's doing it's job.
DH is overrated and no better than any other exhaustion perk imo.
UB is a one time use and the risk you take when you slug.
None of these things are unfair.

It's what happens when you make such a strong perk.
It's honestly overrated. The only thing Dead Hard has over other exhaustion perks is being the easiest to trigger when you want it to.
-
Ah yet another nerf Dead Hard post. How refreshing...
-
I think it's fine. Ultimately it's only useful if you combo it with an ultra rare.

The ultimate goal is the escape. If escaping doesn't matter, what the hell is your objective as survivor? Or should I say what's your objective as unhooker, gen jockey, and runner in dead by daylight?
I don't have a problem with escaping being the most important factor. Having nothing else matter though is just lazy and doesn't give used matches based at all on skill.
-
She's too loud and her back story is incredibly boring. She's just a putz with a coffee and soap fetish.
-
I'll take ######### that can't be true for 500 Alex.
-
Bro, anyone with two brain cells to rub together could see boons were to strong. A slightly smaller range and them not stacking is fine.
-
Hopefully they chuck the creepy bastard in the garage. I doubt it, but a guy can dream.
-
Nope, you got it right.

I think people are missing the fundamental point that this mmr brings.
Yes in the short term it may seem that good players will be punished for not escaping as they may hypothetically die. However in the long term what this will do is bring all the players to a point where they escape in 50% of games and die in 50% of their games, which is the ultimate goal of mmr. And over time due to laws of averages and what the mmr defines a win, this will happen.
It's easy to say on a case by case basis that yes a good player may be punished for not escaping. However that's what multiple games are for, your mmr isn't defined by a single match. It's defined by the collection of every single game you ever play.
Players need to stop being so narrow minded and see the bigger picture of what this style of mmr actually does for the game.
What it does for the game is make matches even worse. I used to sit in purple ranks as survivor. It was pretty decent. I could play fairly chill, had okay teammates and generally decent matches. All that has gone out the window. This system is trash, pure and simple.

Oh ok I saw some people saying 1k is a win so I was concerned.
I think 3k should raise mmr but nothing lower than that.
As far as I understand that's basically how it works. There's supposedly some more complicated math involved, but that's essentially how it works.

True but I wish there was more to sbmm tbh.
I was usually altruistic survivor and it made me less of that so I can get "better" teammates.
1k raising mmr is even more of a blow to me honestly. How can you consider 1k a win?
I don't think it is. I think it's basically going to look at kills vs. escapes. For example if every kill is plus 50 points and each escape is a minus 50 a 1k you'd lose mmr. I think that's the basic gist for killer. Survivor seems to be if you didn't escape you're trash.

At least No Mither has a benefit.
Distressing is, without hyperbole, worse than an empty slot on nearly every killer.
The benefits of No Mither are not worth the downside. Distressing has limited uses, but doesn't really hurt most killers. Survivors are just going to be confused by your terror radius.

The reason for this is the current meta, plus the nature of playing killer right now.
On any killer without the ability to move rapidly over the map, not bringing regression perks is near suicide. A coordinated team will brute force their way through gens faster than you can possibly respond to, even if you are able to chase them off.
Information perks are similar. Without them, it's far too easy for a team of survivors to simply waddle around in the bushes, and you've lost 4 gens before you even get a real chase.
Unless you are going to camp and/or tunnel people down, you absolutely need one, if not both of the above.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2549598#Comment_2549598
Not really. There are some bad survivor perks (far fewer after the next patch), but most of them will at least have some impact on how a match plays out.
I don't think there is anything like Distressing and Dying Light in survivor perks, stuff that works out at a defacto buff for the other side if you pick it.
The bad killer perks are generally worse than the survivor perks. That said, No Mither is probably the worst perk in the game.

@Crowman said:

The thing is at least survivors have a lot of generally useful perks even if they aren't meta. Meaning a survivor run off meta perks isn't hurting themselves as much as a killer running off meta perks.
Killers have several useful perks that aren't meta. The problem as with survivors is their meta perks are way to strong to not use in comparison.
-
That's basically the problem with every non meta perk for both sides.
-
Ngl, this whole thing has me pretty pissed. What kind of dumbass system is like we know you got 20 unhooks, fixed 12 gens, and had a 20 minute chase, but you died so you suck lol. What an absolute joke.
-
Old MoM was absolutely broken. Old Undying was annoying, but it didn't break the game. I do agree that the claim that the devs are survivor sided is just bullshit.
-
Annoying?

Not all Killers are gunna play fair my guy, can't expect them to Not always tunnel / camp reguardless.. it's part of the game,
As much as i hate it... it'll be something killers will do,
No rational person will say you should never do it. All most reasonable players want is it to not be the default.
@R2k said:
Hello fellow survivors, please stop relying on your perks and actually learn to play. Bringing up DS DH BT and coms every game won't make u any better, so stop abusing it.
Yes, it makes the game more challenging, but who wants easy games every time? And you DON'T have to win every match you play! Sometimes, I have more fun in the matches that I lose because the killers looped me well and I actually had to try in order to escape.
Did i miss something? 😂
DH, fair enough. DS and BT do nothing if you don't tunnel.
-
If nearly the entire killer base hadn't been saying this for two years it might have been a "hot take". Anymore it's a boring excuse.
-
Seriously, people are still complaining about it?
-
At least with BT it's kinda mandatory at this point.
-
Play chill. That's what I do and prefer. At least enough so nobody depips.

You know, I thought the same thing about We're Gonna Live Forever when it popped up in the PTB with +100% heal rate on Survivors in the dying state. Like no way Behavior's gonna let that go through, healing is such a big deal in this game. But guess what? It did go through. I wonder how many of you dismissing it as a PTB thing will admit you were wrong or take the Killer's side and say it's overpowered after it goes through.
When I read the patch notes the boon totems and buffing Built to Last to broken just overshadowed anything positive they did for Killer.
Are you actually trying to say Wglf is too strong?
-
I main Wraith and felt high lunge was a bit over tweaked. That said, yeah he was hardly over powered.
-
Honestly, this is why I hate people.

@Kurri said:
Boon Totems. BHVR doesn't give a ######### about killers - at all . At this point I don't even think they know the game has a Killer player.
Considering the number of changes and buffs they clearly are aware of killers. Boon totems are, shall we say very worrying.

The healing boon is scary honestly.

It is not SWF so much as their unwillingness to add voice chat and buff killers to compensate.
For the most part nobody wants it though.
-
No, we have to freak out before we have all the information. Are you new to DbD?
-
I highly doubt it means they'll be safe from the killer.

I'm pretty excited for all of it. I have some concerns, but I'll wait to see how they shake out before I go into the sky is falling mode.

No Legion changes despite being the Killer that needs changes the most (besides maybe Trapper)
Given the shear amount of changes I don't think we can complain they didn't touch something. I do hope Legion gets a look soon though.

Dear lord, insane how people still think BHVR only cares for one side.
And because BHVR is so survivor sided, they buffed Trapper and Plague, right? And that's also why they nerfed keys into the ground, right?
Not to mention all the other good changes that killers have gotten in the past.
Shhh stop pointing out things that don't fit the narrative.
-
@VexTheHex said:
Disappointed they listened to the hive mind and already took out Spirit nerfs. Just shows which side can throw temper tantrums and get their nerfs booted.
Happy keys got severely nerfed.
No they didn't. The only change not in is the dust being kicked up. And honestly a good portion of people thought that one was too far.

Look at new Windows which will make every survivors looping much easier, and built to last..bone totems etc. All killers will need buffs to balance it.
Windows won't really matter to veterans. Built To Last is offset by the time spent replenishing items. Boon Totems is too early to say, but I do have concerns.
-
Doctor doesn't need buffs.

Please troll elsewhere. I've been a Rank 1 killer for 4+ years. I know what a high MMR match is.
It's not trolling. Simply stating the facts. Everyone thinks they are high mmr. As being rank 1 meant nothing that hardly proves you know high mmr.
