With all the tunneling and camping that’s been going on you just simply can’t play solo. I’ve been SWFing and my team hardly ever dies. It’s the only thing you can do if you want to have enjoyable survivor matches.

Enjoyable for you. Not for the killer. 4 coordinated friends versus one guy. I don't understand how anyone can think that's anywhere near fair. This is coming from an unbiased perspective.

  • @SilentShepherd said:

just played a game vs an SWF

    My opinion :

    SWF = custom games only.

    SWF = custom games only.

    SWF = custom games only.

SWF should be removed from matchmaking. You want to play with your friends? Get a friend to play Killer and abuse your friend. Don't abuse me, an innocent gamer trying to have a fun time.

made me want to quit and uninstall. all 4 got away, gen rushed me 3-4 gens in first 5 minutes. i hooked 2 people. one of them at start, and one at the end, but the other 3 came to save her with flashlights and full health and coordination. As I can only slash 1 person at a time with a basic attack cooldown, they all coordinated their attack to save her from different angles.

And about the Gens. When it was down to 1 gen, they left 1 gen at each corner of map, and they coordinated it perfectly. There was NOTHING, I REPEAT, NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO VS A COORDINATED SWF on DISCORD with microphones. Oh, you defend this gen? Fine, they tell their buddy on microphone in discord : "hurry hurry, killer is at my gen, fix yours!!!" ... and repeat. if you ever waste 10 seconds chasing any of them, they tell the others to repair. You can't even patrol. They will fix it due to perfect communication because survivors are at each gen telling the others.

made me want to uninstall. SWF is toxic.

I agree with you. One of the few times I agree with the term toxic being used. I don't know what can be done about it but something needs to be done. I played three games in a row tonight where the gens were done within 5 minutes. I didn't get pissed off but I did consider how a killer is expected to deal with that. Without camping or NOED I doubt I would've even gotten the one sacrifice I got in each of those 3 matches.

  • @pseudechis said:

Seriously I'd say 75-80% of the posts here complaining about camping and tunneling are just players who suck at losing with dignity.

How many streams do you watch where everyone cries camper/tunnler for any or no reason other than they died?

How many times do you get hit with the trash killer camping/tunneller post game again for any reason?

I just had a game, leatherface on midwich. I down 1 survivor next to basement hook em down there, as I'm leaving a survivor runs behind me into the basement for the save when I'm right next to the stairs. So I chainsaw down the stairs and down him. DC.

I go to leave the basement and the next survivor has just given up standing at the top of the stairs waiting for me to down them. I oblige and hook em.

Spend the rest of the game chainsawing doors, the couple of dropped pallets from the first chase and snuff a boon. I'm nowhere near the basement at this point with two hanging on hooks down there.

Stumble across hatch close it for the BP, run into the last survivor smack the exit gate they don't get it and just start running, decide screw it down them and hook GG.

Post game "dirty camper", "trash basement bubba", "uninstall", "#########" etc etc etc.

I hope the devs aren't listening to this crap because a lot of it is just whining sore loser BS.

You're right. That's really all it is. People just can't handle losing and act like manbabies when they do. I'd say the majority of the people that scream for nerfs on these forums are sore losers. The small minority may have a legitimate gripe.

I enjoy playing Trickster, and against. This is coming from someone who hated going against slinger. 😅 Am I the only one?

You're not. I enjoy playing as Trickster. My last game as him the survivors got all the gens done super fast. I only got to kill one of them but still managed to enjoy myself. I enjoy playing against him too. Learning to dodge his knives is helpful.

Because what i'm telling you is the logic behind Slinger,

If you played him at high mmr, you Will get destroyed. Hence why he's dead..

Sorry to say but, to You he might not be dead. but i consider him very bad now..

Ok Jim Jones. Speak the Gospel.

    Cause you're 100% Low mmr,

Go play actual high Mmr and you will say Otherwise

Exactly how do you know my MMR? And guess what? I don't care. I don't play sweaty or try hard and I always enjoy the game no matter what rank the survivors nor killer I'm against is. So I'm always winning.

It sounds like your bitter at loosing to trickster. He very much fits into the game. Not every killer is going to look mutated beyond reality. We have plenty human killers and bright outfits for everyone. I enjoy the counter play. It forces me to use and understand my environment to stay safe.

Spot on. Anytime you see posts like this one you can nearly guarantee it's from a salty rage filled scrub that just got killed by whoever the OP is complaining about.

I can't be the only one who feels that having to play as certain killers or use exact perk builds to be any good at the game is very frustrating.

understand that some perks are better then others and so are killers but I like the variety but I see the same killers all the time. Doctors, ghostface and either of the chainsaw users. the majority I face are either stealth have an AOE attack or an insta down. Why does it seem that the team turns the licensed killers into weak jokes? There but it just feels like there's a trend of making them weaker either through updates or outright. Again I could be wrong there and yes I know that some changes are good ones too.

my point is that DBD presents itself as this horror mashup sort of thing but the whole game is built around specific killers and builds.

Just use what you want to use. Do you care that much if your build is "meta" or not?

  • @steamed_hamzzz said:

The ol’ hit and run, hook trading, fair game, GG’s all round play style is just not possible anymore, not with the sorry state that killer games are in

gens are flying faster than the speed of light, heals are lightning fast and infinite with boons, scratch marks and none existent

it’s just not viable anymore to switch targets and “play fair”

with each update tunnelling and camping become more and more necessary just to confirm at least one kill before the final generator pops, without it most killers just can’t apply enough pressure on teams, with the exception of certain killers. Blight, Nurse ect

do the devs honestly believe this is fair? Or fun for killers in that regard. I don’t want to tunnel and camp, but if I’m playing an M1 killer against toolbox’s, Prove Thyself, Brand New Part’s, Boons and other meta perks then I don’t really have a choice do I?

Should never have been alive. It's a competitive game. I see nothing wrong with doing whatever the game allows you to do to win. The only unnecessary and immature stuff is the crap people type to each other after the game ends.

I’m not blaming anyone. I just want to understand why she does this. I can understand being unable to find other teammates, but there were teammates literally taking hits for me while she tunneled me. This scenario you’re explaining doesn’t justify this particular game.

Pig wanted you dead. Pretty simple. I was saying the helmet tunneling tactic is not infuriating. You're just mad or was mad and came here to whine. Not new to forums just to posting. I'ma let you have the last word. I get the feeling you're the type that has to have it.

You disagreed with me wanting to understand why she tunnels? Or that I just don’t like her as a Killer? Because there is nothing to disagree with besides the fact that I don’t enjoy facing her as a Killer.

If all you read is titles and not opening posts before you decide to reply, just say that. You’re new to the forums (from what I can based on your post number), so I’m sure you’re still getting the hang of actually engaging and giving useful resources/information but as a community, I can tell you we don’t care for smart/snarky comments with no substance. It does nothing.

If you have nothing more engaging to say here, then we can end this useless exchange here. 💜

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

The helmet survivor tunneling tactic is not infuriating. I don't care what you like or don't like about my comments. I'm not new just new at posting. Imagine playing the game the way, you only do just to ruin other's fun. You are the first representation of community's toxicity.

Anyone that throws the word "toxic" around like a football is the problem. If the only way you can have fun is by forcing your distorted views on how the killer should play then DbD is not for you.

  • @MikeyBoi said:

I have been wanting a trickster rework for a awhile now. I personally think he’s very very unhealthy for the game. His power seems underwhelming at most times especially on console at 30FPS.. When going against a good trickster I feel like no matter how good of a survivor you really are you just simply go down at any even nook or cranny and angle on the map.. There are also plenty of situations where you just get absolutely beamed for 2 health states in a 10sec window because it’s just trickster.

Did I also mention he’s better at proxy camping hooked survivors then leatherface…?

What the heck is this "unhealthy" crap you guys keep mentioning? Are we in a doctor's office? Must be the new buzzword along with "toxic". You got killed by a Trickster player and now want him nerfed. Sounds like your typical whiner here. What's next? We gonna get hit by a Nemesis zombie and rage that they are OP?

The issues with the base game have been complained about for years. It is only now since 2 large streamers made videos showing how busted items and healing is that the "mainstream" players are complaining about them. It isn't going to change and they are adding things that just make it more painful to deal with.

The only way to fix the healing issue is to limit the amount of times you can self heal to 3 before you must find another survivor. Map issues are never going to be fixed and are going to be made worse once they finish realm beyond (they will add more safe loops on haddon and swamp maps like they did all the others) This was basically confirmed in an interview with cote where he responded to the balance question with essentially "we tried, it got to difficult as more killers and survivors came into the game, embrace the chaos"

That 16 seconds for potential game changing results is also time a killer loses to walk to it and snuff it usually taking his attention away from a chase or a gen about to be completed. It can even take longer to get to then the survivor takes to bless it, if it is in a building or multi story map. Survivors have downtime while killers do not.

I beg to differ about boons not being broken. Even if you couldn't stack it with a med kit, it is and always will be in this from broken. Just doing tome challenges has gifted me many games where a single COH boon won us the game during 3 gen scenarios or someone trying to hit and run.

Nurse and spirit get particularly shafted by shadowstep

The self-heal limit sounds reasonable. I always thought that healing yourself or your teammates without a med kit was stupid. Exactly WHAT are you healing them with? I have to have a med kit to heal myself unless I'm around a boon or have Claudette's perk. Yet, I can heal a teammate with nothing in my hands?

The Entity is connected to all Killers and Survivors, the Trials are comprised of The Entity itself. Some might have a stronger connection to The Entity, whatever that means, sure.

Also, why do you keep personifying The Entity as a her?

I think she's projecting her own personal desires onto the Entity's gender.

I'm a killer main, switch from a few different killers to keep it exciting. I genuinely come on this game for a good time, and always have done. But recently, since the popularity of DBD has risen due to tiktok, I'm finding that more and more survivors are becoming toxic. Body blocking, begging for killers to make it easy and let them win? Expecting killers NOT to go after survivors they have previously hooked? What happened to the brutality? To the fun? Now, you have two survivors body blocking the hook and the other shining a torch in your damn eyes whilst you're trying to at least get a hook. I always try and go easy on survivors, but god, when they do crap like this, it's infuriating. And yet, when us killer mains do one slight thing it's TOXIC and tunneling and camping? What a load of rubbish. Have fun and stop being sensitive.

You're problem seems to be that you care about going easy on survivors. The object is to win, not to make friends. Do what you have to do to win but realize it's just a game. Survivors will definitely do everything they can to win.

  • @Thunderfrog said:

As a killer I tend to ignore him. My reason is dumb, he has chicken legs and his lore makes no sense at all. He was tricked into disposing bodies and now he can turn invisible?

Anyways, when I survive (And I do both evenly. I generally make iridescent on both), I find the Wraith to be absolutely oppressive and more often than not see him net a 4k.

He's super fast stealthed, max speed when not, and his add ons are all pretty good. His speed boost post invis almost always means he nets a hit after unloak, moreso when he plays the addon to speed up uncloak. (Having a terror radius while invis means nothing at all when he goes from the edge of the radius to on you in 1 second.)

Yea, he's at heart an M1, but sometimes thats all you need when you can zoom the whole map as fast as blight without giving yourself away. I guess I'm not really complaining about him, he just seems super strong and I can't tell if he's really not, or when killers handwaive about how "bad wraith is", its just a way to deflect or sound like an pro-gamer or something because its cool to talk about how he's not top 3 meta.

I think Wraith is good. I usually do well with him. I can think of worse killers than Wraith.

  • @UnknownKiller said:

The add ons that makes you throw knifes faster need to go it actually give no way to escape to survivors. If you want to balance it quit it all

I'm annoyed that I bought the Stranger Things DLC and now the Hawkins Lab map is being removed forever. If I bought it I should be able to play it as long as I want. I'll still have Steve, Nancy, and the Demogorgon but not the map. As much as people hate the Hawkins map I will miss it.

You hit the nail on the head. Just try to have FUN. Who cares if someone is teabagging or clicking their FL? It doesn't matter if you go 4-0 or 0-4. Try to have fun. Block all the negative crap.

If the devs listened to the killer mains here and on twitch, survivors would have no items or perks to play with anymore. Some people are taking this game way too seriously. This isn’t a competitive game like csgo

Goes both ways. Killers wouldn't have anything left either. The complaining on here is ridiculous. Feels like this forum is a nursery and the devs are semi absent babysitters.

  • When will ( insert everything that annoyed us last game) be nerfed? The constant whining about nerfing needs to be nerfed.

  • I don't even use Blight Serum. I did once and I felt that it got in the way of what I needed to use.

  • @crixus006 said:

This ability is the worst thing that has happened in the game since I have played it (3 years). the worst thing about this is that the survivors have only one objective. for example undying got a nerf because it was very strong that an ability lasted so long .... but now it is the killer's job to make totems ??? the totems are infinite? this is a great joke. survivors can turn on totems infinite times, I like the changes but these give more tasks to the killer, other counters you can no longer slug or hurt someone and abandon the chase if you enter a strong loop. because they heal in 10 seconds ... the killers are finished. you just can play with nurse, bligth and spirit, other killers are a big joke

That's ok. I'll keep playing killer and not worry about boon totems. When the boon totems get nerfed guys like you will find something else to rage at.

No one is going to shell out for a Pro now when the PS5 is the new thing; anyone who is thinking of upgrading is going to wait for that to come back into stock.

Fact is they are selling this game and all its newest DLCs for money and for use on these systems.

    Upgrading is not good enough.

They either need to fix the issues or stop selling the game on formats it is not running at an acceptable level.

We were promised back in the March 2019 Road to 60FPS Roadmap that all consoles and low end PCs would be fixed to run at 60FPS, which sounded impossible at the time - now were here nearly 3 years later and the game runs worse than ever and not even a stable 30FPS let alone their lofty claims of 60FPS.

And before saying its not possible, remember they not only were sure enough they could do it to outline a very detailed plan of how they were going to achieve it, but also that since then they have made multiple graphical improvements that while making the game look better for you guys on ninja PCs, make the game run like ass for the rest of us.

PS5 was also not even a thing back when they announced this great 60FPS news for console users who had been complaining about performance for years already back in 2019, so it feels like we've been lied to and tricked into sticking around for 'promised improvements' and spending more money on DLC every few months - which a lot of us would not have done if they had been honest about what was really going to happen.

I for one would have quit years ago if they did not keep stringing me along with these empty words and promises.

I actually quit due to poor performance before the old Ruin change, then a combination of the Ruin change, Twins disatrous launch and the character looked laughable, same for Trickster another killer who didn't fit in the game design wise.

I came back because I got caught up in the hype from Nemesis and it being such a massive surprise they managed to get such a license, and wow am i regretting it now when were still in the state we were at Nemesis launch (barely playable due to freezes) and since then not only has none of it been fixed or got better, but they've also hyped and release 2 new characters with a 3rd being teased right now! None of these up0dates fix more than the new content they add when they patch breaks.

Always during events as well, we've missed this Halloween, last Anniversary, last Halloween, and a few Bloodhunt weekends due to the game being borderline unplayable, depending how masochistic you are.

I shelled out for a One X a few months ago. The One X is a huge upgrade from the basic Xbox One and I still can't find any PS5s or Series X where I live.

I mean, the Entity feeds off strong emotions. Her being in trial would make sense as she could feed off the strong fear survivors have when facing her. It wouldn't ruin her. She also could stay unknown, just playable

No one knows if the Entity is a she.

Yea I mean she's definitely weaker but she's still really good. The dust change would've been bad but they didn't go through with it thankfully. I think she's in a good spot now.

I think a really good blight is probably stronger than spirit now though simply because he didn't get nerfed at all. But that's fine.

Blight is much harder to play with successfully than Spirit I believe. That's probably why.

  • @GannTM said:

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve played as her many times and played against her 3 times (only 2 of those Spirit’s actually used their power) and she is the most universally fun killer in the whole game right now imo. I still have the control in the chase and I don’t feel helpless as survivor either. The back and forth counterplay is the main thing that makes her so interactive right now.

BHVR, I know y’all deserve a lot of backlash for all the ######### you do but this is one of those times when I’ll give you massive props. How many people agree with me?

Been same as usual. The effects of her nerfs have been exaggerated and full of hyperbole.

Maybe I'm ignorant here or have 0 idea how things work and that's fine, I'm always open to discussion but why should older gen console players have to be forced to change part of their system for a game that was made specifically for these older models? Why does this basically feel like a, "oh well, sucks for you guys. Upgrade." statement? This company should be making their game playable no matter what platform its on. The fact people are seriously having to resort to switching to SDD just for one game (seriously, just one. none of my other older games with current updates have this problem) is ridiculous and sends the message from BHVR they don't care enough to fix the problem anytime soon.

I may not be understanding here but personally, I feel like people shouldn't have to go through such measures just to play a game.

I hope you don't take this as a personal attack, it's not. Just a rant against company because I too, like OP, am experiencing dreadful lag once again and I'm sick of it.

I agree with you but as it is with all new generation systems the people using the older systems get left in the dust.

  • @Hannon said:

Since the first bug fix update that came after Mikaela’s release the game is back to being laggy

there are o lot of freezes when playing again the nemesis (for example)

    or when unhooking a survivor.

how long are we gonna have to wait to play the game in proper conditions BHVR?

If you can afford it you should get at least a PS4 Pro. I still use my Xbox One X and I rarely lag. The basic Xbox One and PS4 are getting a bit outdated.

  • @Taluca said:

There are so many things wrong with the game. So many. Apart from the lore and stories the game provides us with which are good, especially the art and designs of the game, it's the entire gameplay and its mechanic features and even BHVR that make the game so frustrating to play in and make it difficult to have faith in. Hence why I'm gonna list them down. TDLR at the bottom if you don't want to read an essay paragraph.

    • Incompetent devs: BHVR has no competition with their game, they got absolutely way too comfortable that they just add stuff we don't even want like the SBMM and Boon Totems, unnecessary nerfs and buffs and changes, removing things we liked (Pinhead's voice lines). But it isn't just that, it's how they handle the game. It just feels like they're killing it and just making the game to benefit only the Survivors side (no this is not a Killer rant, it's a game rant) and leaves the Killer side to have frustrating gameplay trying to get 4Ks. Not to mention about some recent collaborations, when we heard that they're getting a collaboration with the medieval game For Honor, I liked it. But we all know what happened, For Honor got some game mode and new skins which is kinda good, and no need to give hate to them. But it's what they give us in DbD, just a helmet charm. They barely communicate with the community's feedback on what to do to make the game better and what should and is supposed to be fixed or added. Not to mention they also work with NFTs and I doubt anyone here needs any explanation on what NFTs are. Another thing before I move on is how they treat the hacker problem in the game ever since SBMM dropped like it's nothing, they don't give a damn about the many reports and sightings of so many hackers ruining the game. Either they don't want to lose money or they don't want to get called out for not handling the situation sooner. When they release new Killers, it's either a copy-pasted power but different, and the moment the PTB is done they nerf the Killer. However, I think there are some devs of DbD that want to make the game fun and better for everyone but are forced to do stuff that their higher-ups want them to do so they can get more money.
    • Unfair gameplay: I played both Survivor and Killer and have been part of moments that shouldn't have been unfair. Take, for instance, parts of the game you shouldn't have been hit, you leave a Gen just in time for the skillcheck to pop up and it blows the Gen, you were almost finishing a Gen or cleansing the hex totem or opening the gates until the Killer downed or grabbed you when it was 99% (Excuse that rant of unlucky moments). As for Killer, I'd think there's even way more unless I missed some parts about the Survivor unfair parts. You're about to hit the Survivor but for some reason, you miss when it should've hit or because of the damn validation, you get pallet stunned when you were just an inch away and that also includes when you avoid Head On stuns but get stunned anyway. There're some exploits that both Survivor and Killer use in their advantages, like Claivorance allowing you to literally push both Survivors and Killers off ledges. Then there are the many loops, some are good, yes but I feel there is a lot of loops that just feel like going forever and ever (infinite loops) and Haddonfield is known for being just that. The RPD map is as we all agree is a map that's so visually good but is so easy to get lost in. Not to mention it has both Survivor and Killer-sided parts that so many players use those parts to their advantage.
    • False promises: Let's take a look at the things from past things. Chapter 10 was revealed to have a new map alongside anarchist teenagers going by The Legion, in which they have told us were going to be Killers that'll disguise themselves and trick Survivors into thinking they're a Survivor. Instead, we got a Killer who just runs fast and stabs people. In Chapter 18 with The Twins, we were promised to have fun with the new Killer and Survivor and their new Perks. Instead, we get a buggy game and a chapter that was half-finished, tarnishing The Twin's reputation and making that chapter one of the worst chapters in DbD alongside the Leatherface and Nightmare On Elm Street chapters. I may have missed a few but I bet there are more things that BHVR promised us in the game only to either have that promise not come true or turn out not as it was promised to be.
    • The Community: Every video I watched and almost every game I played had those guys in the game. The ones who just don't wanna do the objective but find the Killer and bully the hell out of them until they rage quit and so they can go trash-talking at them, saying stuff like GG EZ etc. But when it doesn't go according to their plan, they're the ones who get angry and throw a fit, calling the Killer bad or baby and complaining about their game style and the perks they use because they don't want to accept they got beaten. But the others are the ones who just constantly rage and when they lose or don't get their way, they'll throw massive tantrums to the point they either want the player to kill themselves, calling them slurs and such or maybe to point they resort to cheating. However, I do not condone everyone in the community as there are people that are chill and just want to play to have fun, like Otz and various YouTubers and streamers who just want to have fun and give their fans a game to enjoy watching. Another majority I forgot about is the diehard fans who just completely ignore the game's problems and when they see someone ranting or hating the game they go on a tirade at that person and explain why DbD is the best game ever created and that person is just completely wrong. And no, I am not forgetting about the Killers as well, they'll also try to do the same thing as what I've explained in the top to anger the Survivors and use any toxic strategy imaginable, then trash-talking at the Survivors. Then it brings us to the next topic...
    • Dead by Daylight brings out the worst in us: I'm one of those people in the game who do get so angry and rage at the game, one point in a Haddonfield game as Wraith I lost and I screamed so loud that my brother could hear me outside the house. Whenever I lost, the angrier I'd get, and sometimes I'd think about resorting to cheating, trash talk me all you want. It's that easy how this game can just bring out the worst in us, even Otz punched the camera on one match. It's actually why I made the decision to quit the game overall because it's not bringing any fun to me anymore, it's just making me angry at every turn.

There are so many things wrong with the game I could add more into this post but I'm not entirely sure what else. I think I've pretty much ranted all I can about this game. But anyway

TLDR: The game has devs who do a bad job in the game they make it harder less for Survivors but more for Killers, the game has so many unfair features and mechanics on both sides, they made promises but either broke them or it didn't turn out the way it was told to be, the community is completely toxic, and best of all this entire game brings out the worst in us.

In conclusion: This is not the best asymmetrical game ever made, it's an unbalanced flawed game with a dev team that doesn't do a pretty good job handling the game and it is not a game you should recommend to new players. Can't wait for VHS to come out and overthrow DbD's throne. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Online gaming brings out the worst in people. Not just DbD. These people weren't mentally mature and emotionally stable to begin with. No self respecting mature adult will rage and act like a baby over a video game.

A lone survivor should be avle to have their chances of getting off hook n tto be able to use deliverance. Killers have such an advantage being able to aura perk or audio perk us. They can camp which should be penalyzed but isnt. The least we should get is a chance to unhook ourselves. If we havent veen hooked. But we instant die . Why?

Sounds like you just got owned in a match so you came here to post an emotional and illogical post.

Now, to get this out of the way first, I know that is not the case for absolutely everyone. There are people who tryhard just to tryhard and ruin your day. They exist in every PvP game ever and you can't escape them. But, these tryhards can be traced to for the reason it's such an issue in DbD.

Speaking from experience as both Survivor and Killer, they're are people who essentially provoke this behavior. I have seen killers go from clearly wanting a fair game to having no chill and remorse because of a singular tryharding survivor. I, of course, thought this Killer was overreacting or something...until I was put myself into their shoes, and let me tell you. Going ten matches in a row, constantly put against people who are either better at the game than you and brag about it by t-bagging and such, or are very lucky and act as if they're the greatest ever, really pushes your buttons. And so, though I (somehow) have not gotten to this point, I can totally see why some killers would resort to tunneling and such immediately. It can act as a sort of insurance policy. "You can't tryhard if you're already dead." But what sucks about that logic is, by camping/tunneling as killer, they basically have a chance at creating the very thing(s) they want to destroy.

Though I don't feel like I have enough experience as survivor to make an argument for them, but I'm sure a lot the people who read this can tell where I'm going with this. It's essentially a cycle. Either a survivor provokes the killer, or the killer provokes the survivor(s). Now, it'd be one thing if almost all killers adopted a sort of punishment policy, where they only tunnel the tryhard(s) and basically make them ragequit. You know, teach them a lesson and all that. But that is not the scenario we're living. I personally think more killers who are provoked by tryharding survivors are adopting the "Insurance Policy" more than the "Punishment Policy." Choosing to give it their all every match, not holding back at all no matter who they're up against, just to "be safe." But, as I have said previously, I believe this policy actually makes the problem five times worse more than anything, since they are essentially inspiring other survivors to tryhard all the time so they can also "be safe."

Can you see the cycle now? Yes, it's not exactly perfect. There are some people who tryhard just to ruin your day, and there are even some people who you think are a tryhard, but are actually just so good that their casual looks like they're tryharding. I've seen it so I know it's a thing. But there is still a cycle. Tryhard player stomps casual player, casual player gets annoyed and becomes a tryhard player, repeat.

Which is why I believe that, even if the smallest action is taken against both killers and survivors, punishing excessive tunneling/camping (unless if punished for tunneling/camping at all) for killers and...something for survivors (I can't really think of anything that could be effectively punishing for survivor tryhards, maybe button spam?), it could possibly go a long way in fixing the overall health of the game. Sure, it would take some time, but change is change. If it can cause anything good, then that'd be fine by me.

But this is Behavior Interactive we're talking about. They spice the game up, but tend to not really fix anything that needs fixing, so...we're sort of left to our own devices on this one.

    In summary, we're screwed.

Putting way too much thought into this game. Killers kill. Survivors survive. That's it.

  • You will always get raged at regardless. I too am a 37 year old father and I've learned it doesn't matter how you play. If you do good you will get raged at. If you mess up and all escape you'll get called a noob and to #########. You have to remember we are playing mostly with children and young "adults'.

I just love me a killer requires zero skill in chase! Simply hook one survivor, and you're set to snowball the rest of the game for free! The survivor unhooks themself? No problem, the traps around the hook will go off! anyways!

Seriously, how this killer has been allowed to exist in this game so long is beyond any comprehension. At the very least, traps need to be disarmed whenever a survivor is unhooked. That is a reasonable change that would be a great start in the right direction.

    BHVR, do something about Hag!!!

Quit whining. Grow up. All y'all do is scream and cry for nerfs.

I get I'm an old dude compared to most of you. 37 years old, have my own twin daughters, and thus I spend most of my time with Victor and Charlotte. I notice I tend to catch a lot of crap postgame.

Usual 1: I hate the twins, they encourage camping.

Usual 2: I hate the twins, they patrol 3 gens too well.

Usual 3: I hate the twins, they make games take too long because all Victor does is slug.

    -------------------------

Like, I tend to play with Trail of Torment, Oppression, Tinkerer, and Oblivious. I've triple prestige Charlotte so I get as many of the silk ribbons and tops I can get, so I have a item-loss on pounce and undetectable when switching back to Charlotte for 30 seconds.

In general, I like to put Victor by popular gens on the map, and search and chase and smack gens with Charlotte, doing as much as I can to have a lot of undetectable. If I get lucky enough to basement hook someone, I'll leave Charlottes body by the basement and roam with victor to find rescuers or people pushing gens through.

I don't think is particularly oppressive. The twins are a terrible killer.

-You get punished for downing people with Victor, he's usually squished afterwards.

-You get punished for landing pounces with Victor, as smart survivors just kidnap him for 30-45 seconds.

-You often have only a 50/50 chance of picking up someone downed by Victor, as Charlotte still has to travel the map to the body.

    -Victor can't slow gen progress.

-Victor cannot de-activate boons or break pallets.

-Victor needs all his doors pre-broken, and he has to be very carefully finagled through windows.

-Victor doesn't count as a killer, so I can't even use him with NOED or use any on-hit perks.

I give up a LOT for the few advantages I do get. This stuff in mind, even if I husk camp the basement, 1) Theres a minimum radius I must be out of and 2) there's a time delay on top of that and 3) since Victor cannot hurt gens, literally all I can do it injure 1 survivor before you squish him and make me wait 10 seconds to deploy him again.

I know that Charlotte being able to body camp about 20 meters away from the hook pisses people off, but I can't think of another viable way to play them without just letting all the survivors go every round.

FWIW: I think I play in fairly high MMR games, I don't know how to check. I'm Iridescent on both Killer and Survivor side.

Why do you care about pissing off survivors? The object of the game is to win. Y'all are turning this game into an episode of Barney the Dinosaur.

I learned early. I play on console and have my settings so I can only receive messages from friends, and I ignore friend requests that come in while playing DBD. It's a lonely but largely stress free life, lol.

That's exactly what I did with UFC 4 and DbD. I don't get messages anymore from manbabies screaming that the killer tunneling them is toxic and to kill myself. It's great. I seriously suggest all console players turn your messages to friends only. All the hate and whining will instantly disappear forever.
