  • Keep in mind the ping indicator only shows your connection to the server not the killers. It goes like this

    You > to > Server

    Server > to > killer

    killer > to > server

    Server > to > you

It still doesn't help that hit authority will still be with Killers since they haven't migrated that entirely to the server being the authority, which hit validation only mitigates the outliers. The real issue is still the Killer having server authority since it accepts what they hit as true unless their ping exceeds the parameter before their hit validation kicks in which as we've seen before, still sucks.

  • There is no aim assist. It doesn't help you hit something that you would have missed. It shows what you were hitting according to the server. In essence you were going to miss anyways, this just showed you what you actually hit.

Yes please. Over extending the game for no reason just because you think you can't win is bs. I'd say the time limit should be 12 minutes at most. This will force both teams to be efficient.

The average match length I have is about 10-15 minutes. This would just encourage gen rushing to the extreme.

  • I'm not a fan of attaching survivor perks to things killers can disable. Especially since the impact of killer hex perks far outweigh survivor perks. It would also make killers take longer during the start of the game to pick totem spawns which isn't a good idea for time management.

  • Spirits bug made her more balanced and fun and it should have been permanent.

  • I'd say its toxic when they are all down and you can hook them, but don't. Seems toxic to let them all bleedout.

I guess you have to finish healing them up from the dying state. Seems like a poorly thought out challenge.

WGLF and Empathy-> Did it in one match

So dying with 4 ppl against an unwinnable situation unless the killer screws up HEAVILY is "fun" ?

Attempting to save a teammate is fun. Just leaving them to die is not. Just rushing gens is not. The killer in this case is promoting the gameplay response from the survivors to just rush gens/leave immediately which is not fun.

  • Cause its certainly more exciting than the gameplay the killer is promoting the survivors to do which is genrush and just leave.

  • Cope has like Devotion 34.

  • I'd rather not deal with the sweaty killers hopping on that to bully solo's

  • Latency is why :)

  • Terrible Optimizations

  • Careful you might smell a little rancid from sweating so much.

  • It certainly would buff the fun enjoyed in dead by daylight .

Otherwise I would make it sorta like Oni.

You don’t lose the entire feral frenzy bar when picking someone up out of frenzy.

Basic Attacks deplete 25% of the bar

Missing a feral frenzy stab depleted 50% of the bar.

  • Remove him from the game.

  • Simple answer, no. My build is Kindred, WGLF, BT, and Botany with a medkit with charge addons and I do just fine. It forces me to be better with my looping.

  • @OBX said:

its a natural result of nerfing the ruin/undying combo. Killers aren’t rewarded as much for taking multiple chases as there are only two “ruin” totems.

this was pointed out as a likely result many times in these forums prior to the nerf to undying.

Meh they played the exact same way before ruin undying was nerfed. Just slugging and trying to end the game super quickly. There hasn’t been a real difference in killer play styles either way.

  • I’m not gonna mess around on the ptb, I’m gonna try to play a real game against him.

Per steamcharts.com, DBD has roughly 36k (rounding up slightly) on at the moment, I'd venture and say they're not exactly hurting for cash at the moment. I'm sure they made back their initial costs and then some. Especially if they're paying out for various licenses and paying to keep said licenses in game for X amount of years.

At the very least both xbox and playstation has around 1 million+ users average according to some stats I could find. Licenses most likely are attributed to auric cell purchases and cosmetics related to those, but any reoccurring fee would not be public info. The bunny feng cosmetic made more than a million usd if I heard correctly.

The issue is, killer is balanced around solo queue survivors.

Swf gives an inherent buff and massive advantage to players. You won't win most games if they choose to try.

I think swf should have a 30%/40%/50% gen/healing/cleansing/ interaction with plague fountains ect.. speed decrease (so vaulting ect not affected so chases untouched but everything else is massively nerfed . This would be per 2/3/4 man swf.)

This would make things fair, and solo queue survivors wouldn't be hit with this as it would be applied in lobby/ queue.

This would absolutely hit solo queue survivors. No one wants to spend time on a gen as it is let alone with all of the slowdown perks already existing in the game. Taking that into account it will cause these players to just find the killer cause everything else will be extremely boring and then more threads on the forums will pop up crying about swf and proposing changes that seem like they took 5 minutes while pooping to think of.

  • I’m sure regardless of what orientation killer or survivor we will still have people complaining about it because they get triggered :-)

  • @LastShoe said:

    I will also add:

Freddy, putting the snares next to a window makes survivors medium vault

Don't put them next to a thrown pallet, survivor will alwasy fast vault

Putting traps on short loops should quarantee you a hit.

With freddy you can just spam presetting traps.

It's also good to throw some detection traps in spots, where you can place nice trapper's traps, it requires experience.

Ghost face: Recovery addons are amazing because most of the time you use his power either to close the gap without tr, or for mindgames (which are amazing wiht im all ears, you can often just stand in one spot and watch througth the wall survivors coming to you)

Demo, don't spam his main power, question when to use it on a loop is similiar to billy, so most of the time exprienced survivors will force you to m1 anyway, so often you use it just to break pallets, or force pallet drops. Still, his shred is amazing for keeping the stacks of StBFL.

His teleports are devastating... but they are countered by the genrush meta because they give you map pressure, after you loose gens. Unlike the trapper or hag, who loses gens, but take control of part of the map.

Make sure if placing snares as freddy that they are not hugging the vault but a few feet out. If the survivor comes in at the right angle they can negate the slowdown and fast vault. Usually if I'm pre placing a snare I put it at the angle I expect to push the survivor too so they have no way of slipping by it.

    Just something I learned.

  • I do fine on haddonfield. There are things that you need to do to play around how safe certain structures are and how gens are spread out. Specifically you don't want to give up the middle core gens, recognizing what windows have spawned makes it easier while in chase as well.

I mean, do we need more?

It affects self unhooks, and freeing from Trappers bear traps. That’s it.

Only self unhooks now, Trapper change means it doesn't affect his traps since 4.5.0

I don't know about you, but that's been like that ever since the new patch. People just gen rushing like maniacs.

the only reliable counter to certain killers and playstyles.

  • Must be difficult hitting the survivor when they are body blocking.

  • @ukenicky said:

If gen repair time was increased (So they take longer to complete) and regression time for kicking them was improved to make kicking gens more worthwhile, would you still: camp/tunnel a survivor out as fast as possible to gain a better advantage?

I would love to see these changes implemented so that matches aren't too fast but it got me to thinking (And worrying), survivors having to spend more time doing gens = more time to tunnel someone out early as it isn't as punishing to a killer then to camp someone while survivors, well, do the gens lol.

I say this as someone who plays both killer and survivor and as someone who tries not to camp/tunnel unless I'm losing pretty badly and need to create an advantage of some kind before 3 gen. I did not include slugging as I think slugging is absolutely fine and is more a risk reward thing since slugging can backfire hard.

Of course they would. They did the exact same thing with ruin/undying pre nerf.

It worked fine for a couple of hours this morning. Then all of a sudden the devs are doing something in the background which has messed it all up - standard form

Yeah based off that I assume this evening the 4.5.2 build was pushed for xbox one (ahead of schedule) and Microsoft is the one that did that. This morning you would have been on 4.5.1 like everyone else so no issues would have been occuring.

  • @Miralis said:

I immediatly found a game breaking glitch. I got error code 8001 and it said Unable to connect to servers and kicked me to the main menu. When it said INITIALIZING it crashed. This happened 4 times in 30 min. They just got the game to not crash 24/7 it better not be back.

Odds are the servers are still set to 4.5.1 and you are on 4.5.2 which could be the reason. When it pings their server to authenticate it could be throwing back for you.

  • @Alionis said:

You could try turning off crossplay. Since XBOX is the only platform who has 4.5.2 at the moment, it could mess up the matchmaking with other platforms.

Yes when a platform is on a different version they cannot matchmake with other platforms which are on older builds of the game. As for crossplay already being disabled and still having issues, there could be not enough players connected to your regional matchmaking queue since it won't necessarily try to connect you to a server across the world.

  • Most likely because they are usually full of themselves.

I play Killer & Survivor 50/50, i'm rank 1 in both and have been for quite some time so i'd like to think I have an unbiased opinion when it comes to nerfs and i'll be the first to agree that Undying/Pop didn't need to be nerfed.

But with that said, how much is too much? It seems like every single patch I see countless posts begging for survivor nerfs.. and then when you finally get what you want, you immediately start asking for another nerf?

In most recent events.. Infinites got nerfed? wasn't enough. Toolboxes + all Addons got nerfed? wasn't enough. Gen speeds got nerfed? wasn't enough. Hook saboing got nerfed? wasn't enough. More maps got reworked? wasn't enough. Keys are being reworked? wasn't enough. Decisive just got nerfed and Object has been confirmed for a nerf at a later date? Still not enough..

Now I see people demanding a Dead Hard nerf when anyone who uses it knows you end up dead on the ground 7/10 times.

I mean hell.. Just last week I saw someone asking for a Spine Chill nerf because it wasn't fair to stealth killers.

Will you truly ever be satisfied? or is it human nature to just constantly want more and more after you get your way once?

its easier to blame the game than thinking that they aren't good.

  • Circle jerk is real here.

  • Maybe run kindred. Also I don't usually prioritize saving a bad teammate over other things so maybe consider how you are playing.

  • I normally don’t stick around pgc but someone said the hitting on hook was not necessary and they said they were being toxic because ds was being nerfed.

  • Because the vast majority of crossplay killers in my experience camp, tunnel, and bm. However that doesn’t exclude pc killers but the main identifier for it being a console killer is when they whiff.

  • A good answer is to apply pressure to identify the weaker survivor at looping and focus them. Realize what chases you can afford and what chases you need to drop. Perks that help locate survivors will help a ton but you should keep in mind that some swf’s are so good that no matter what you do you most likely will lose (not get a 4K). This is just because they’ve seen all the tricks killers try and know what to do. They also know how to run loops extremely well so at some point you also can acknowledge that they are just better especially when you can’t identify the weakest link.

  • I’ve seen an uptick in toxic killers. Most cite DS changing as to why they are being toxic.

  • Billy, always fun to go against pre De sync issues and he requires a ton of skill.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Isn't the even toolbox a reskinned commodious?

Edit: also, this isn't a big event, it's a little one. The Devs said form now on they'll be focusing on the anniversary and Halloween, and given that I would be happy if they just recycled this formula for the next few (with an increased spawn chance for event stuff in the bloodweb).

Also it’s bugged on some indoor maps where you won’t get the extra bp for doing gens like lery’s

  • If I see a survivor not being a team player I’ll keep that in mind for when they get caught or hooked. Being toxic will be something I’ll keep in mind for possible endgame scenarios but during the middle of the match if you aren’t helping a teammate you might as well have killed your team.

  • When the killer lets the middle gen go despite chasing a person near it. Also when they try to chase a person at a super strong loop for a minute+.

  • @Tsulan said:

So killers stopped tunneling and instantly broke a chase to protect one of their perks and that is scummy.

    MMmmhhhkay

That’s not what I am indicating is scummy and I didn’t think I would have to explain what playing scummy means for either killer or survivor but figures on these forums.

  • Even with a perk combo promoting “healthy gameplay” killers still played scummy as hell. Even if it was just “do totems lazy survivors it’s just that easy” the killer just puppy guarded their totems every time an aura appeared even when chasing someone on the opposite side of the map. What I think this resulted in is a bunch of boosted killers who now are complaining about gen speed cause they can’t use up to 4 ruins. Pity this can’t happen with survivor perks, hopefully ds fixes that.

  • This is more a steam/client side issue.

PS4, PS5, XBox One, XBox whatever the newest one is called, Switch, Stadia, Steam, Windows Store.

Specifically the ones where certification is something that is required, Xbox/PlayStation/Switch are the ones that would hold an update back from getting released. This is assuming Windows store is the same process as Xbox, and stadia doesn’t need to push updates to clients.

  • @ARatherStrangeKiller said:

    https://i.imgur.com/Jld7pfO.png

No wonder updates are so slow and only come in batches. Whoever is in charge of these deadlines needs to just let their devs do their jobs instead of forcing them to have something out on X date.

This can be for platform specific certification. Not every platform is like steam where you can instantly push updates to players.

And not every killer has the same lunch no matter what is said or put in any Wiki or any of that some may be similar but there are multiple killers with different Lunges. Also there are always a killer or two who's lunge seems different to the person using them. I don't like how everybody says Freddy's is so big I also dislike spirits lunnge.

Every killer has the same lunge, freddy’s looks weird and is complained about because it doesn’t match his arm length.

Also when you teleport you appear facing the direction of the survivor even through walls.
