I know their gonna brutally murder the exhaustion one because survivors can't live without their exhaustion perks for 90 seconds. It's a anti dead hard.

I'd still run it as that's double of the double amount, that's triple the bp.
Fun fact which i find interesting is original were gonna live forever i think went up to 200% instead of the 100 it has now but they nerfed it because "to much bp"

If crowd control has no cooldown why should blood favour?
Because blocking pallets=bad for 90% of survivors (not every survivor will be good at looping windows especially when crowd control comes out, but the best survivors will probably loop through it) so probably because halfway decent survivors can at least use pallets. (Idk really but its a guess)

Ill do you one better: HEX perks should never have a cooldown (blood favour).

How is ph handholding and nurse not then? Also freddy is strong but compared to nurse is very weak
I mean to play nurse as a whole ya need to have accute muscle memory "how far do i have to hold blink or how far up do i need to look, if the survivors moving around quickly i have to predict where they will go to blink on top of them and get the hit" which even killers who have 4000+ hours seem to have trouble doing (otz has been doing multiple livestreams trying to master her) someone like ph you don't think is the same difficulty right? High risk high reward as if you miss your blinks a lot you lose horribly. Ph eh i miss a ranged attack itll be back in 2 seconds.

Old PH was brainless agreed but new PH is pretty fun in chase since unlike nurse he can’t just deny anything you do
Either way id still like to see another killer like nurse in the future. Blights pretty close as he encourages a lot of raw skill to get his downs instead of just saying no to the survivor imo. Not saying that makes ph doctor or freddy busted (well freddy is) but id rather use my skill with a killer over handholding like doctors shock blocking off pallets for like 3 seconds or ph range attacking through each pallet. It is good for the killers who aren't that good though which does make sense can't have every killer like nurse or noone would get kills in the low ranks and everyone would in high.

How is doctor just holding m2 at a loop when it requires timing to do it right? Same with ph tho freddy is brainless
Doctor is the least in that but pyramid head every loop sword into the ground is pretty brainless in my opinion and this is coming from a person who plays ph a lot. Also old ph was literally sword into ground or m1 making it impossible on the survivor.

Nurse is from a time where No Hook-Moris, Insta-Heals, real Infinites, Double Pallets and real facecamping where a thing. Of course her design is not great, she is a big design failure.
Shes also the only killer who encourages pure raw skill. If you want to play her you have to be good as her skill floor is through the roof. Thats why most people rarely complain about a good nurse because you gotta respect the work they probably put in. Id say more killers like nurse would be good compared to say pyramid head doctor or freddy. Just hold m2 at loops.

It's possible, yes, though I don't think that situation is the norm. But point taken, three gens can be finished in less than three minutes.
Having 3 on gens right at the start depends on spawn points, because we've actually had this happen commonly in my swf we each spawn on different gens and one of us gets chased and by the time the killer gets them down and hooked they just lost 3 gens already. And even if say you werent on a gen right at the start after the killer hooks they still gotta get to a gen so you could still have 3 gens done in say 90-100 seconds? Not gonna say gens are to fast but with how long loops take its no surprise the anti loop killers are the best ones. I mean first hit gives you a speedboost which mathematically at 115% takes 20 seconds to catch up.

And if it's taking you three minutes to get your first hook....
I think you've identified the problem pretty nicely. Well done.
Actually since gens take 80 seconds to do and say you spawn 20 seconds away from the survivors and you start chasing one. First hit say takes 20 seconds which they hold w so it takes you 20 seconds to catch back up (so thats 60 seconds so far).Take 10 seconds to get the next hit then 10 to hook. 3 gens pop. And this is assuming the average time it takes to get a hit never know when a survivor has dead hard or sprint burst making stuff take longer. Because 4 survivors 1 killer while your chasing one the other 3 could be on gens.

It is not an actual Anti-Tunnel Perk. And it never has been, a Killer who wants to tunnel will not be prevented by DS at all.
If They give new ds a ability to say remove grunts of pain and scratch marks for 10 seconds after the killers been stunned, then that kinda prevents the killer getting back on you after getting Dstriked since you kinda leave a trail back to you after Dsing basically right now. So they could test some new stuff to buff it now that its abusive side is mostly gone.

So, to be clear, you play against killers who are bad and use NOED, but you also can't find an opportunity cleanse totems (even though they are bad), and you want to make sure only the most powerful killers have access to NOED, even though you already can't cleanse totems against the bad ones?
Agreed The only thing i disagree is solo que i use detectives hunch and inner strength and heal like 5 times commonly. It sucks when i hit 4 hope 1 other survivor got the last just to get smacked by noed. I do my best to do bones but sometimes i guess lifes not fair lol.

Once keys are reworked, everyone should be hidden in lobbies. It literally makes no sense how this is a multiplayer PVP game and the pre-game lobby mechanic gives an advantage to one side.
But then what of perks like franklins or actually lightborne franklins ya can make a case but lightbornes useless if theres no flashlights at all. (Franklins can work if someone chest loots)
-
Id say just test new ds with a infinite timer so survivors who are actually getting tunneled dont have to force themselves into a locker to prevent the tunneler from slugging or ds running out before they can use it. Plenty of times ive ran the killer for the entire of ds's duration and i was still technically being tunneled. And with it deactivating on you progressing the game if survivors wanna wave it in your face you know they cant do a gen or anything.

No, I would not say that this would work.
First of all, PTB would need to be a permanent Entry on Steam. Second, most people will most likely not play the PTB, PTBs are usually only played for a short amount of time and mostly with significant changes like a new Killer or bigger Reworks of Perks or Killers.
Also, it would only be accessible for PC-players.
I would rather say that they should just throw a few things in on Live whenever they are doing a Chapter. Like, dont make a big fuss about thinking if Trapper should start with more Trap, just throw it in. If it helps him, but does not make him oppressive, keep it. Otherwise, patch it out during the next major Patch.
Patches are usually 6 weeks away from each other, so if they test small things each time, this will not break the game at all. And if something turns out to be too strong, it will only be in the game for 6 weeks and will be patched out by then.
E.g. if all Maps are reworked, bring back old Balanced Landing - when there are Drops next to each Window, it should be fine to have the Stagger Reduction even with exhausted. Test it for 6 weeks - it is fine? Great, keep it. Balanced Landing is still too strong? Ok, removed.
This can be done for small changes (like Wraith Invisibility, Trapper having two Traps, etc.) or some bigger things (BL Stagger Reduction). For bigger Reworks, it would make more sense to monitor over a longer period of time without changing it, like they currently do.
But overall, I am for more tests, but I dont think that it will really be useful on a PTB.
Yeah i guess that makes sense. Personally another reason for this kinda idea is Otz and Tru3 said about how the devs go overboard when they balance stuff instead of trying a slight change (Billy) since sometimes changing one slight thing can cause a big ripple (like how otz said giving freddy some slowdown might make him much fairer in chase) instead of whatever the devs probably are doing. (And we get no inclusion on what their planning) I wouldn't be opposed to just throwing slight updates on live for a few weeks to shake things up though instead of this kinda idea. After all the reason they pushed the UI was "we want consoles to try it to"

It doesn't do anything for Overwatch, what makes you think it would work for DBD?
Idk itd make balancing quicker than waiting like 2 months for each big patch expecting good balance updates then just seeing:Oh open handed now has 8 more range on it. It took 2 months to come up with that? And people say we dont get enough inclusion with them testing stuff so this a good way to get it if they just throw experimental changes on a ptb. And i doubt it does nothing on Ow as it dictates the current balance updates.

Better to see the devs testing slight changes instead of pulling a billy on freddy for instance. Like who knows if they put a slowdown on snares that by itself could really balance him and say they spent all this time doing the billy treatment. Rather see slight experimental changes then the devs doing what they think is the right thing because as shown by billy...They have a habbit of going alittle overboard. Oh billys problems his addons so lets change them, But lets also give him a overheat mechanic, Less steering, and have him roar when using the chainsaw. Brilliant.

They literally can tho, as shown by the Bloodlust experiment.
Overwatch and PUBG have Console PTB's and testing grounds. It isn't impossible.
Wonder if dbd could take a overwatch way and just make a experimental thing.

sounds great in theory but i really don't think anybody would use it tbh. almost nobody plays the experimental mode in overwatch.
Really? It seems like a lot of people do for like the first day (not the whole 3 days) to test the changes and see their opinions on it. Gms do this a lot especially incase they go through.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/230880/would-experimental-ptbs-work-for-dbd
Yes please, the thing i hate the most about the PTB is that it's used so less.
They should use it much more to make balancing better and faster, which is really needed and really so damn slow right now.
I'm sure that there would be quite a few people that would love to test those things and give feedback on it.
Devs have an easier time to balance things, content creators get more content and the community a more balanced game.
It's a win for everyone
Its So weird to see balance updates only every midchapter and chapter mostly i don't get it. Slight variable changes can't take that long the overwatch devs address this with their experimental they just change a number internally most times.(ik this isnt overwatch but still).
-
It says for the killers objective to do anything in their power to kill the survivors so whether it be bringing tombstone or iri head or tunneling and camping your doing your job. Does that mean its okay? Yeah. Its in the game and the devs don't seem rushed to fix it. Its like freddy where people dc when they see the clock. Im not even a loop abusing freddy and the amount of premature dcs are halarious.

Maybe, but obsessed with only one person might not make for an interesting killer, it would be someone who has a tendency of being obsessed with one person, that could be made to fit the game much better. There are plenty of other survivors after all there needs to be more motivation.
That would also open the door for a new obsession based perk or two that might be fun....or entirely useless more likely knowing bhvr haha.

Because killer had their own BS to combat the survivor BS. Old Billy flick, old instasaw Billy which was literally less than a second charge time, old Nurse, Mori on first down, machine gun build, trap directly under the hook etc. But also people didn't really know how to play the game so nobody cares that much and just experienced the beautiful buggy mess that was old DbD together.
According to tofu also since most of the games were region locked back then youd face the same people over and over and kinda would develop a honor code where theyd just mess around and have fun despite all the broken stuff since facing the same people over and over again basically made every match kyf.

10 seconds of no blood trails or scratch marks? 10s x 4m/s = 40 m! That's way excessive, even if it was agreed that DS needs a buff (it doesn't)
90% of time when i get tunneled and i stun the killer they just follow my scratch marks or blood trail back to me since i dont have anything to protect me now @Aven_Fallen is merely suggesting that if a killer actually tunnels (with new ds) they cant just be back on you 20 seconds later because you have no escape now. Ds doesnt hurt tunnelers really it never has and a buff to make it actually brutally punish tunnelers (they literally spend like 40 seconds tunneling you just to lose you and get nothing out of it) is a amazing deterrent for tunnelers

I can confirm (at least in my KYF) that it still works, I think most just get the positioning wrong.
If you stand like this by the hatch the survivor can't use their key at all. Important to note is, that you don't even need to touch the hatch to block keys, you actually stand in front of it.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/W9NJ53DC4SB8/20210217152150-1.jpg
Huh weird i thought just standing on it was able to block it since its impossible for the survivor to jump in with you in the way.

Hm well it would really suck if they removed one of the only ways to outplay a key once the hatch spawned, I will try it out myself and report back, I really hope it's just a positioning thing and not impossible in general.
It also might be killer size legion and spirit are skinny but michaels quite big so i doubt he wouldnt be able to block the prompt but before you could block it with even hag.
-
@Exor said:
I assume your positioning is off, to block keys you need to actually stand in front of the hatch, by the handle (the side with the keyhole before the graphic overhaul), instead of standing on top of it. Unlike the jump prompt which is directly over the open hatch, the key prompt appears while being in front of the hatch, thus being on the hatch doesn't prevent keys at all, but being in front of it does.
Tested it multiple times in kyf even positioning myself over the handle as michael my friend just ran infront of me and opened it.

I posted in the feedback section and didn't get any replies and I'd really like to hear some so I'm posting it here in hopes to get some outside input. So here's my idea
I think to make this perk a little better and maybe even an anti tunneling perk they could add it where you don't leave blood trails and/or scratch marks or even a haste boost for a certain duration after getting unhooked. The effects could also be removed once you're healed.
I know personally for me the first two things I listed are what can be used to find the guy who has recently been unhooked. Obviously I think incorporating all of those things would probably make it OP but it could be beneficial if they were to add some. Let me know what you guys think.
The No scratchmarks would be good with ds since i always wondered why ds didnt remove scratch marks and blood trail when you stun the killer since when they are stunned they will just come right back after you and with new ds thatd be a fairer synergy.

"Et tu, Dwight?"
"Always has been"
Survivor A gets hooked survivor B unhooks him you down and hook survivor B Survivor C unhooks B Same thing Survivor D unhooks survivor C and gets downed and hooked. 3 ds's and someone has to unhook, if A does they lose their Ds so at most its 3. You ever do math?

lol his UI is literally two functions he wrote in notepad, it's a toy example. There's a huge difference between writing out some mock example code and actually writing code that compiles, runs, passes tests, and then feels right when you run the game.
Real engineering includes design, implementation, testing, all of this takes time and the process involves multiple teams
Also adding these changes to an existing code base comes with lots of complexity and even more time required to add and test. Scott's example is useless and betrays his ignorance and also seriously undermines my confidence in him doing any real engineering work in the past
I think he was just doing it to demonstrate how much you can get done in like a hour and saying "how tf does this take 6 months" especially since he did work with designers in the past and back then it probably didnt take 6 months to do a UI. He even says hes just disproving them falling back on the excuse "we devoted months to this". Even rpgs dont look like that monstrosity we got. It looks like mobile lol.

You must have made some real bangers. What multiplayer game do you design and help develop for a living? Don't be shy, promote your work! I mean, unless you are just guessing and have no actual idea what work is entailed in game design, but think playing games makes you an expert regardless.
scott was a game designer and has vast experience in unreal engine making UIs (the same engine bhvrs using) and it took him a hour to make a better UI. Also saying "its just a few people on the forums" check their twitter and Facebook sometime. This is alittle weaker then the force for colorblind settings and it was the playerbase that brought it to us sooner. Not bhvr being nice.

Hag is one of the few killers that makes the best use of Corrupt, however I don't think it's required. It can be a hit or miss depending on map rng.
On Hag losing early gens is kind of irrelevant to me because even if you didn't lose early gens on the other side of the map early, you play to give them up anyway. You're gonna pick your best 3 gen and then never leave. So whether you lose those further away gens early or later doesn't matter too much since you weren't planning to protect them anyway.
So it can be great depending on rng, but I think she has other good options as well. I think it's up for personal taste in other words.
Fully Agree the only time this playstyle screws you over is when theres a key as when you kill a survivor they just find hatch and leave.
-
Hag and trapper are setup killers that are best when they can get fully setup and divide pressure to a lower area which corrupt definitely helps with and basically makes trapper playable for me. For hag though...? I mean she has her traps at all times and can reset them whenever so i wouldnt say corrupt is as much of a necessity but it definitely helps. One thing to remember is for hag and trapper that only the last gen matters (unless theres a key) because then the survivors could trap themselves in a 3 gen with you fully setup. Which has gotten me many 4ks as trapper.
