the thing is, some of the killers powers would become too good. take deathslinger as an example, if he could reload in a second he would destroy every single loop in the game
At the low level probably. At high hed probably still lose because no map pressure and survivors know how to loop antiloop. They don't really need to start buffing killers an insane amount they need to rework the survivor objective so all killers have a chance to do something.

Any killer can be S tier if you put your mind to it.
Not even close lol. I could be the jesus christ of michael and play everything right and still lose to say oracle because like it or not killers can only be in one place at a time. Spirit and nurse circumvent it by having high map pressure and antiloop but someone like michael has no map pressure,No anti loop, And stuns himself with the failure that is t1.

Um...no... the timing on flashlights makes sense as it adds some skill and you can learn to do it fairly easily. What should we just allow palletsaves by just throwing a pallet while the killers doing the pickup? Basically the same thing.

That....literally just confirms what I said though.
Instead of getting destroyed by those teams, it keeps them down in matches where they are more functional, making them honestly more fun to play. Even if a killer is bad, you would still then be able to play them.
Meanwhile; that also still makes it clear there is a balance problem with the killer, which is what you are describing, not an MMR problem.
If there is a balance problem with a killer then that is something to be addressed; honestly if the MMR worked properly then this would also let us balance killers like Freddy better too since it would let you fluidly adapt to how they are performing at various ranks of skill.
https://youtu.be/cVqHp6DiT-wScott kinda puts it the best ive seen
Itd take way to much work to make a unbalanced game like this to be good enough for a mmr system imo. Its gonna be no big surprise the highest mmr will be just nurse spirit nurse spirit nurse spirit. And i honestly doubt thatll ever be fixed unless this game gets some giant overhaul. I know it is hard for survivors to accept but at the highest level...they make this game basically unwinnable. This coming from a person with 4k hours on survivor as well.
-
Can we not resort to personal attacks? On the topic: mmr takes a while to get used to your skill level in any game. Overwatch and rainbow use placements but dbd doesnt have a competitive mode or placement matches so they are just trying to tie it with the game as a whole. So give it time after like 10 matches i got to matches that felt very even.

Mindless double backing is a noob strategy, and therefore only works against noob Nurses (and those who are rusty or having a bad day).
I've a headache right now, but when I'm better I'll try to explain how to counter the Nurse. I'll give you a hint: it involves object hitboxes and how the Nurse blinks through stuff.
Stand on the other side of a object because you count as a solid object denying the nurses blink? Just a guess lol.

The hatch one is relatively useful... to one side at least.
I see a key? I wonder what offering they're gonna use, oh boy. Even if there's no key involved, all this offering does is start a race to the location of the hatch and try to guess where exactly is gonna spawn. Even then, it's BS since it rewards lucky guessing.... Unless the killer is standing on it if he can see it.
However THESE OFFERINGS? They are utterly trash.
Just give me the 50% BP bonus offering instead pls.
Yeah the basement ones useless. Personally i don't like the idea of the hatch one as one drawback to keys is supposed to be rng hatch spawn. If a survivor has a key and they say do 3 gens and i kill 2 people i know the key users out. Or its a swf someone will pick up the key off their body. No way around it. But i guess its better than survivors hiding 5 minutes looking for it.
-
It and the hatch one are dumb tbh controlling the basement gives no value unless your a killer. Controlling the hatch gives way to much value as survivors always run this offering with a key to guarantee someone escapes.

Absolutely gonna prefer Wraith still, i've never been the kind of Killer to just stare at Survivors, i like to go in and WHACK!
I love when i look right into ghostface lucious eyes and he exposes me anyway~ nothing makes me want to die more. Lol besides like being revealed behind walls and around corners as ghostface.

I don't think anyone denies that hackers or cheaters exist and there's a reason we give permanent bans for these things
Pretty sure I've said on this very forum that it's a circle, people find a way to cheat, EAC gets updated, they get caught, another cheat is developed, EAC gets updated and so on and so forth - that's pretty much the way things work and will probably always work, for any anti-cheat system because there's always people developing a new way around them.
We have a team of ACM's who review the reports - so they are manually done, not automated and of course we don't go by number of reports alone, we do require actual evidence.
We also have temporary bans as well as permanent ones so sometimes when you make a report and you don't see action (ie the game ban notification on someones profile), doesn't mean that action wasn't taken against that account, it just means that it wasn't a permanent ban.
Is there no way to lock out someone from making like 50 accounts though? One particular flying ghostface has been going around banned 55 times and he just laughs it off when it happens again.

In a sterile example, this is true, but how often is this done in practice? And even the sterile example ignores the fact the Killer is faster that they can start pushing the surv to the edge of the map fairly quickly and can use obstacles to gain more distance or simply get closer to the surv before they start running in the first place.
How often do survs spot killers in time to move off a gen/hook save/etc soon enough to gain this massive distance?
How often are survs in a spot where gaining that same massive distance doesn't put them at the disadvantage of being near the edge of the map/near fairly quickly?
How often are they against Killers for whom this might even be a problem?
Sure if a Killer approaches from a bad angle, already at the edge of a map, then the survivor's choice is clear. But even if they commit to just running forward and the Killer in question can't 'easily' catch up, you've chased them FAR FAR from the gen, and maybe even spooked a couple of other survs along the way.
Seriously, it sounds to me like people are taking the absolute worst case scenerio and trying to apply it to the game as whole. There are a lot of variables that a strict 'test' or number crunching doesn't remotely begin to take into account.
Depends again on the maps. Maps like midwich literally have gens in the middle of the hall so theyll obviously w the opposite direction. Haddonfield has a gen in the middle of the street and a gen beside a house where the survivor can again just go other direction. Coldwind map gens in middle of fields. Autohaven basically every gen. Temple of purgation i can think of like 3 since its all straightways. Its honestly pretty common. Map problem as none of these maps give cutoffs which is where the killer catches up. People already knew this problem with midwich and its dubbed "W the map" because thats all it literally is. Have a OoO on the opposite side? Never catching him unless you just run forward for like 2 minutes.

Honestly, it was expected that there will be a point from there on you cannot take Killer Mains serious anymore.
This is when they complain about Survivors running. People who see this as an actual problem that needs changes and even do videos about it should be ignored. And it should be clear that no fruitful discussion is possible with their opinion.
My thing idk about you is just for the killers who don't have the mobility to catch up after a smack and maps that give killers no option to cut off like midwich or haddonfield (realize how i don't say its survivors fault?).If say pig, ghostface, michael or old wraith chase you and catch up say after 20 seconds and smack you giving you a speed boost and you just run straight then it takes another 20-30 seconds. It's very effective as after you hook you spent 50 seconds on one chase. And thats just taking loops out of the entire equation. Obviously i think people are overeacting a bit in all other cases. Its no big surprise non map pressure killers suffer a lot in this game. Because taking myers for example he has no map pressure,No slowdown,No anti loop,No strategic plan unlike trapper or hag,Doesn't obviously have a range attack. And even hit and run doesnt work to well on myers as you gotta get out of tier 1 first making him the only killer who starts even WEAKER then everyone else at default. Not really a problem with survivors just powercreep with how the game now is. I am a 50/50 so i do try to incoporate both sides when i say stuff. Holding w is personally just the most boring thing to me as survivor as the whole fun is looping pallets and mindgaming at windows and ect. Just holding w for a minute until i go down is just boring EFFECTIVE but boring. Kinda like how tunneling a survivor for early game pressure is boring to me as killer, so i refuse to do it as i know how it would feel to have it done to me.

After more than a year not playing, I came back and oh God, is it easy to get bloodpoints. Back when I joined I played around 2-3 matches for a level, now I can even go to as far as 2 levels per game. No, at this point it is fast enough. During my times, seeing someone with a prestige meant they really really spent a lot of time leveling that character. I unlocked Blight Monday and Wednesday I have level 30 on him. Remember I have school and homework to do, so about 2 hours a day. 4 hours for level 30, seriously? It is fine as it is now.
Theres 81 (so 170 together) perks for survivor and killers alone times those by 3 for each tier in a bloodweb. Then you have to do that for all survivors and all killers. And don't forget to p3 them all! Gl! (Someone did the math and its like 2 billion bp)
-
That or rebuff them to their 1.0 version (which used to be 200%) The grind is stupid for new people when the best perks (for survivor at least) are just leveling up 3 characters. Then your just spending bp for "decent" builds. Itd be so much easier for everyone if they had access to everything earlier. Id say though for survivors we need to buff their bp by 100% basekit anyway as its so much harder to get bp in survivor games then killers. Just coming from someone who has all the perks on a survivor and a good pretty much build on every killer since i leveled them all up to level 50 as well that took like 3 years. Have a job now and other responsibilities so i'm glad i don't have a second job anymore but i don't want other people to go through that either.

As a guy who plays mostly survivor sorry to call you out on bs but survivors are the more toxic majority. "Ggez" "wow noed" "baby killer" "git gud" literally I've never had to tell so many people to shut it in a game before. Most killers bar the occasional toxic bubba or something are pretty nice. And the whole "boring" started literally from survivors. "Spirits boring ph is boring nurse is boring". So either way (its also the fact theres 4 survivors and 1 killer so statistically survivors should be more toxic). On the topic again your getting angry over killers calling it boring but like yeah following a person for a minute with no chase (where the fun is) is lack of a better term boring.

After 3 gens if there 4 survs alive you already lost man. So deal with it lmao.
You need to kill min 1 2 surv before end game
When the devs literally say "dont expect to have 5 gens when you get first hook"? And the killer can only chase one person allowing the other 3 to be on gens? Kinda hard to kill someone before 3 gens pop.

It's not toxic just effective while requiring little skill.
Of course any killer with mobility, range attack, or if the survivor is already injured/exposed this doesn't work that well.
i don't see how this would ever be fixed if it even needs to be fixed in the first place.
I mean it can become toxic on midwich with OoO gl catching that survivor.
-
Apparently people in the comments have the same problem as me lol. Also dang he gets a token a second? Guess that answers why he can break a pallet and just use his chainsaw when he gets close again. Also looping tightly around stuff basically says "hope the bubba sucks" lol. But yeah i try window looping but if he has bamboozle that shuts down one of his counterplays. The apparent advice in the comments is "genrush him". In chase hes so terrifying imo.

Legion is still faster than survivors. He only runs about 10% faster than his normal speed since his rework opposed to (I think) 30% with the old version.
Bubba moves progressively faster up to a top speed with his chainsaw.
BL3 is an additional 5% per level. It takes a long time to hit 3 though, shouldn't really ever happen.
A survivor getting 32000 BP is pretty rare due to all the different way they'd need to help out during the match, survivla points are near impossible to get, their BP gain isn't tied to hookstate outside of not escaping.
No, all speed boost perks are tied to the exhaustion status effect. It won't go down whilst running.
Depending on how much of a short run up they can get it is possible to get a fast vault on windows where you'd think it impossible.
Can't really explain this once as I don't know what you mean. A survivor doesn't freeze when offscreen.
As long as the survivors safety pip they won't derank. It has nothing to do with winning or losing. I wouldn't really dwell on this. Rank is more or less meaningless.
Kinda annoying because i think i saw a fun fact if a survivor sees you coming from like 20 meters away and starts running its impossible for legion to catch up even with maxed duration.
-
Michael needs his movie teleport confirmed. He can tp as long as hes not seen lol. Just smack a survivor they go behind something and suddenly hes infront of them and smacks them down.

Actually, when the changes on the ptb notes first came out i made a post talking about good addons now that windstorm is no longer needed every game and that is the first one i talked about.
Im already using it on current wraith it is just so fun to use, with mobility on top of it im sure it will become strong and more common.
Im also interested in how fast new wraith could get since the devs said he will still have the windstorms they just wont give as quick of a boost.
-
@AChaoticKiller said:
After the ptb i say yes.
both of their strongest play styles is hit and run but wraith now has really good mobility.
He can also use his uncloak speed boost at small to medium loops and most of the time get a hit.
Really the only 2 things ghostface has over wraith is attacking faster from stealth and being able to expose survivors but i think wraith is still better since his power is always available and as said can be used in a chase. Also most of the time unless they are at a pallet you can just uncloak behind something and hit them before they reach anything with your speed.
edit: also wraith can now pretty much do well on any map unlike Ghost face who suffers in open maps.
An interesting interaction otz showed on the ptb would be to use the purple addon that allows you to break pallets quickly and the one that auto takes you out of stealth. The devs bugfixed it so when wraith breaks a pallet with the common he still gets the speedboost from the uncloak so he can be right on your ass in like seconds.

Trust me, I've tried them all, I've been going against hold W gamers for more than a year now, they are half the reason I stopped maining Plague back in the day, and the entire reason I main Blight right now.

Midwich and Haddonfield are special cases, I don't think anyone likes those maps. Especially Midwich, that map is truly awful for everyone but Blight and maybe Slinger. I think the problem here is you're realising that any killer that lacks mobility is almost always mid tier at best. That's just a problem with DBD as a whole.
*shrug* i do main michael on the killer side and michael brings really not much to the table. No map pressure,no anti loop, no slowdown. And even hit and run isnt as good on him as say ghostface. Unfortunate. On the survivor side ive played the game for probably like 3k hours have all the perks pretty much know maps layouts. Im one of them lol. I do try to speak from a 50/50 side and hold w doesn't feel fun as a 50/50 player imo.

That pretty much exclusively applies to gens in the middle of a field. 90% of gens in this game are in a tile on the border of a map or in buildings. Sprint Burst also means no Dead Hard, which is significantly stronger at extending chases.
Eh not only those midwich has gens in the middle of the halls. Haddonfield has a gen in the middle of the road and one beside a building which the survivor can just run along the buildings side. Autohaven...is autohaven...red forest kinda the same just see which way the killers coming from and run. And yeah dead hard if it can get you to a loop does extend very much but sprint burst gives a bunch of distance on the killer. Really any map that gives the survivor straightways from a gen which is kinda a lot i can think of 3 on temple of purgation. Any real big map. The most balanced map in a w meta is dead dawg because you cant just hold w you eventually have to turn way sooner than other maps. Which gives ample cutoffs. Just my thoughts as a rank 1 survivor and rank 10 killer.
-
@gibblywibblywoo said:
People that complain about this are the same players that approach the gen from the same direction every time with the same predictable plays.
Doesnt matter where you approach depending on the maps because the killer needs to cut the survivor off. Maps like coldwind,Haddonfield,Midwich,Red forest. The survivor can just run in any direction opposite of the killer giving the killer no cut off. (And if they use sprint burst that makes the chase take basically 60 seconds)

In answer to the topic at hand no its not bannable the devs officially state it.
-
Never said it was toxic said it was effective and on certain maps uncounterable by certain killers. Watch the video and give me a timestamp where he actually said its toxic in the video.
-
@KingFrost said:
For someone with 6000 hours in the game, you'd think he'd know the game better than that. Like yeah, just running is sometimes the survivors best option. There are dead zones in the game, and it's up to the killer to try to cut you off. He's literally just taking the same pathing as the survivor, and that's something you shouldn't do as killer. And most of the M1 killers have things to mitigate it. Pig's the only one who doesn't, but she has a slowdown power unlike any other.
Depends on the map stuff like autohaven midwich or haddonfield just allow the survivor to hold w because of their design with not much cutoff paths. Not to say this is every map obviously but its some. Lerys comes to mind coldwind and maybe red forest? Literally midwich with OoO means im never probably catching that survivor because theyll just remain on the other side of the map and hold w in the opposite direction im running making it take like 2 minutes to even get in chase range.
-
Not toxic just boring. Scott has addressed this 8 months ago. The only time i think its toxic is OoO on midwich itd take like 2 minutes running straight to catch a OoO whos on the other side of the map before actually starting the chase.

This is to both you and the OP: this change will not happen.
The reason? The achievement "Where Did They Go?!?", which requires that all four Survivors make it out through the Hatch in a trial. I, personally, already have this achievement from a lucky break in one game. According to various achievement tracking places anywhere between 5.3 and 8.9 percent of people who play the game have this achievement, with Steam itself saying 6.6%. I do not expect them to make a change that makes it so this achievement will require three Keys.
Right now the Hatch has some really funky math to it: "Does ((Number of survivors alive + 1) = (number of repaired generators)? If so spawn closed Hatch". So if four Survivors are still alive it takes five gens, if three are alive four gens and so on till you get to only one alive which just ignores the math and spawns an open Hatch.
The idea I like best and the one that I think is most likely to happen is that Keys themselves won't be changed but how the Hatch spawns will be. Instead of the above math there are two conditions that will spawn the Hatch: "Five generators repaired OR only one Survivor left alive in the trial". This will prevent three or two people from getting out via the Hatch while ignoring their Primary Win Condition: the generators.
If you are the sort of Killer who cares about 4ks then having all four Survivors still alive when they repair the last gen such a change won't really be much different than it already is, excluding N.O.E.D. cases and maybe a few other not so common Perk and Power combos. But if you get to the point where you've got four people alive and all five gens are done you've basically already lost anyways so them getting out via Hatch or Exit Gate is a moot point.
The main problem with Keys and the Hatch as it is now is that it allows two or three Survivors to get out while they ignore the last gen, making any work you put into a stable three-gen useless and any sort of late game planning worthless. By forcing them to finish five gens if they want to use that Key it means you can actually plan ahead for it and have viable counter play against the Key without having to run Franklin's.
To be thorough the idea I like second best is that you can't open the Hatch instantly with a Key, but have to take a few seconds to open it. The same time as with a chest, with no Perks buffing this time. Time spent unlocking the Hatch stays added to the total just like a chest if interrupted no matter what Survivor comes back to it later or what Key they use.
The third idea I like the least is that you can't find Keys inside of chest in the Trial. I think Survivors should have the chance of finding one, but maybe work the numbers a bit so they are less common than they already are so dedicated Looter Builds aren't pulling them so much.
This achivement would still be possible all 4 survivors would need to bring a key and escape (which should be the requirement rn anyway not 4 people escape in 1 key). They are allowed to change achivements not names of those achivements though.

Look, I completely agree to you, Nurse shoudl get fully reworked, her ability should be weakened a lot and her Movement Speed should be increased to compensate for that. She is outdated and should not be in the game as she currently is.
However, this does not change the fact that you do not even try to play against her. And it is very unlikely that she will get reworked at any point.
To be fair though isnt nurse wildly considered the only one who can battle the best swf? For instance Supaalf scrims with team Oracle before every tournament he also faces team Agony. Sometimes they win sometimes he wins. And asked if he could probably do the same with say spirit "not a chance". You gotta have some killer who can handle the top level of play who at least involves a good bit of skill on the killers part and so far nurse is the best we got.

I actually reported that guy with evidence and submitted the ticket the first day I witnessed his cheats, I did the whole tedious process to report that person and I bet I am not the only one. Yet... that guy is still free to play this game with his cheats on. Are you freaking kidding me?! No wonder people do not bother to report cheaters anymore.
Not only did I ran into this old cheater I have seen many times already, but I managed to run into three games in a row with a different cheater in the match. I am talking about clear as day cheats here, not stealth cheats. Wake up BHVR, we have Killers flying in the air now and these people don't get reported because of your outdated report system. They are literally making a fool out of the community, and we can not even leave the matches because of the increasing penalty for each match we DC. If I can not report cheaters the normal modernized way like in other games, at least let us leave the match. I know the game sucks with no penalty to DC, we all been there, but let me tell you, the game sucks even more with having to put up with cheaters, some of whom even hold the game hostage!

Also, a simple blink from SC when versing a stealth killer may be enough to warrant more attention and be wary. Countering it is more of a hussle than it is worth it.
Edit:
Whispers is kind of a counter to heavily immersed spine chill players. Even if they leg it silently, they are now probably in a much worse spot than before.
Ah mk i was just thinking as even if they suspect spinechill say stuff like nurses or pig and wraiths aura reveal addons reveal the survivor even if you don't look right at them. So new OoO would warn you the killers in the area even if say they arent looking directly at you.

I just said to use spine chill if you prefer just to counter stealth killers (undetectable) who are using auras.
Either way, new OoO is a much better pekr (health wise) and will surely see much, much more use in solo queues.
Don't most killers predict spinechill now and just moonwalk or look to the side? New OoO would have the advantage then lighting up since nurses sees you.

Might as well just use spine chill for that.
Yeah in that scenario i guess unless the killer counterplays the spinechill. Honestly itd have its advantages over spinechill if it lit up and revealed the killers aura when they see yours. As theres many aura reading perks and addons. So like if your facing a michael and OoO is always lit up its probably scratched mirror. It lighting up everytime you throw up with plague? Black incense. in some ways it could beat out spinechill or just be a amazing perk to side with it as if it lit up whenever your auras revealed that gives you so much more info, spinechill warns you if the killers coming which killers can just counter by looking up,down, or moonwalking. New object warns you what the killer has and they can't do anything about it. Another thing say the killer hooks someone and it lights up for 4 seconds bbq known instantly. Go near a totem and see it lights up? Get that undying out of here. (Even though undying already tells you now i think?) Wouldn't have to see the killer to get immense value from it. Current object lights up whenever you look in the killers direction so if they go the same route with new object (it lights up no matter if the killers aura is revealed) then that makes it amazingly powerful.
