    Noticed this too!

I wouldn't mind this returning. It would also be neat if they made custom hooks for killers like Onryō and Trickster who didn't get their own map.

    Thatd Be sick!

  • @Mr_K said:

What will they do for the 2nd stage?

Honestly (if i had to) id make it still skillchecks but not instant kill you after you fail two of them. Say each failure takes off 4 seconds. If the teammates are fast enough they can still get them off before theyd die to it. (But im not hard of the opinion forcing people to play a match. They will always do something to throw even if you removed all the mechanics to prevent them from eliminating themselves early. Theyd just afk)

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

why not buff it and make it 8% base?

Because hooks are insane pressure. They force a survivor to get off gens and save a teammate. The more consistent you make self-unhooks (especially with luck offerings and perks) you could basically remove one of the killers biggest pressures. Same of why basekit unbreakable isnt happening. Sometimes you need to slug to create pressure.

Nice talking, but missing the point.

I only talked about WHEN those Perks were released. I never said that the Nerfs were not justified. (Even tho, the last DS-Nerf was not justified and the last CoH-Nerf was not justified as well... IMO letting it only work on one floor would have been enough as a Nerf in its state before the nerf that made it useless).

My point was just that it is very, very rare for Survivors to actually get good Perks. And a Perk is also not good if Killer Mains cry about it in the Forums pre-release and then notice that nobody is using it, because it is bad.

And the thing is - something like Made for This HAS to be strong to make Survivors not use Exhaustion-Perks. Killers complain about Exhaustion-Perks and Made For This is an alternative which has to be strong. Otherwise there would be no point in using it. And IMO, the average Survivor will probably still get more use out of Lithe and Sprint Burst.

(Killers on the other hand usually get at least one decent Perk per Patch and sometimes a Perk which can be good on certain Killers. Maybe End Transmission might be an exception, but I have to say that Forced Hesitation is slept on)

I will say (not to support any side just because i thought with them bringing up MFT resilence) resilence i think has always been solid. I don't know when it last got changes. But ive seen it in pretty much every meta since i started (back in early 2017) so its a pretty good perk. Probably one of the most solid survivor perks.

  • They are in the pipeline they said during this years ama. Im eagerly waiting to see em myself. As long as they dont change his basekit even more than it was already modified with overheat (id just scrap it) he had a nice flow for his basekit on release. Now its just clunk. So animation fixes maybe some cool addons when you down with a saw (to further reward his power) probably making his steering and movement better by default so engravings isnt a must. Ect. Hell i think they could scrap the 4.4 drawback on the tuning guide and just make it a 20% chainsaw charge time increase (itd still be about as strong as i think his on release yellow bulb. So no instasaw compared to when he released)

  • my first game was when my friend downed me and insta morid me with old freddy. Fear.

I wouldn't bother with any addons outside of Map of the Realm, Horsemeat and Call to Arms unless it's a gimmick build.

I run Surge, PR, PGTW and Corrupt.

I've also run PR, Floods, Lethal and Corrupt.

Yeah its sad half of the times i get my guard on them as a distraction they can just hold forward until they get the flag (Sometimes getting it instantly and sometimes them just holding forward the guards chase time runs out even on the carnifex) and other times they throw a pallet or vault a window and the guard just contemplates existance lol. Its frustrating. Ill stick with the addons but ill try those perks.

  • @luvcraft said:

As a killer main, I get about 100k BP per match. I always have a tome challenge going, and can typically clear one in 1-2 matches, and the same for dailies. So I'm constantly hitting the BP cap, and when there's a big announcement about BP (like today's Prime Gaming announcement of 400k free BP) I couldn't care less.

Meanwhile, when I switch to survivor, I'm scratching my head at how little BP I get; survivor dailies are often "get chased for 120 seconds", which takes me 3-4 matches to finish, or "escape" which again happens maybe 1 out of 4 matches, and meanwhile the base BP I get for a match is WAY lower. Tome challenges also typically take me 3+ matches to complete. So I totally understand why survivor mains talk about being constantly starved for BP.

Why is this so disparate, though? Killers get WAY too much BP, and survivors get WAY too little.

Killers have multiple category-filling abilities. Say wraith for instance. If he uncloaks and hits someone. Thats brutality (he hit them) deviousness (he hit them using his power in some way) hunting (they chased) and the only hard one is sacrifice but its wraith lets be honest. Survivors only fill categories by doing certain things and they arent multiple-building.

How do you know what the initial Thought for Characters was? Any source for this?

Even in Early Access this game only had 4 Slots/Character.

I was gonna say from asking mclean about unrelenting being the wraiths weapon he told a story of how each character was supposed to have 4 teachables. Not 3. So wraith had his current 3 then unrelenting. They just never got around to fixing the picture. (He never mentioned the game testing 5 perk slots just 4 teachables)

  • Yeah. This isn't the event i remember. I was so hyped but now the nostalgia has died down and im just like "wow this sucks compared to what i remember"

  • Surprisingly i must be lucky since i got 30 on killer and 30 on survivor rn. (But i did dump like 1.5 mill on both. It has seemed to drop off now though so i might just farm bp with what i got then wait.

  • Yeah i dont get it. We are running up to a window and i know they dont get it even with a fast vault so i swing at their back as they go to jump over. And they just skip forward and run away. Sometimes my hit phasing. Resilence makes it look even worse from survivor perspective.

I'd guess the patch note is worded poorly and they mean addons too, but at the very least i can't imagine their intent was that you can't get maps and red keys and that the intent was to get rid of random pulling of BNP for example.

The wiki got updated and according to its text its still you can only get greens but the addons are random.

Dramaturgy is a Unique Perk belonging to Nicolas Cage.Prestige Nicolas Cage to Prestige 1, 2, 3 respectively to unlock Tier I, Tier II, Tier III of Dramaturgy for all other Characters. Dramaturgy will give its user any of the following Items: Broken Key Commodious Toolbox Emergency Med-Kit Map Mechanic's Toolbox Sport Flashlight Currently, Dramaturgy can also provide Items of Very Rare or even Ultra Rare Rarity. However, this is acknowledged to be a bug and will be fixed in an upcoming Patch.

    (and they normally test)

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Event items could've stayed in my opinion, but getting BNPs was kind of over the top.

If i read correctly it says you do not get ultra rare ITEMS. Not addons.

    Screenshot_20230801_105144_Chrome.jpg

So The addons might still be free game (bnps and the like you just cannot get event ones) you just cant get like a purple beamer (said above)

  • @BarnesFlam said:

    Nah, it wasn't fine.

What randomly getting a rainbow map or key (2 of the weakest ultras on the survivor end)? Or getting event addons which i already have in the thousands from hoarding every event? For a rng perk? (Because just so you know it says you cannot get a ultra rare item. You can still get ultra rare addons like syringe bnp and gauze because the perk gives you any 2 random addons beside event)

  • Xeno will probably be stealthy and fast. Idk what the survivor will have (if ripley maybe a flamethrower?)

  • My day is now great. Still pissed about before but this is insane.

From what Ive seen, mainly from other people using it on social media, it looks pretty strong.

Yeah i've gotten some halarious moments out of it but some have been insane value. Like in one game basically forcing another chase when it was already a pretty strong looper. And then one of the funny moments was this.

If average public match Survivors could 3-out against the best Killer in the world, that would be a sign of a very serious balance issue.

I mean these teams have 4 outted against wraiths. Twins. Trappers. Bubbas. All being pretty high tier (for collab videos) and everytime one of those videos pop up "its just the very best survivors" now that a killer almost wins that isnt nurse blight or spirit? (Real crap) but this is the same as those cases. Very good killer. Very good survivors.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3489958#Comment_3489958

The SM's goal was the win via server close.

They specifically didn't try to hook people.

Did you watch the match? Not all of it, I know people don't have that sort of time, but some of it at least?

I mean dont we see games of wraith and myers or twins face these guys and lose with no or few hooks and its just "its only the upper bracket" i would think most killers should have a ability to face even the top survivors if they play correctly. Im getting tired of it just being the same few everytime (saw the ghostface video and i was glad to finally see another killer do something)

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

All the Survivors fault that they went into this situation. /s

I mean, this cannot be more clear how problematic Skull Merchant is. This is a non-tournament player against the best team in the World. They will probably win all of their games if they play this Build in normal matches.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3489709#Comment_3489709

Yeah, I also said this right from the start - she should be killswitched and reworked. With a Refund-Option if people dont like her new design.

And I never said this about anything in this game. But Skull Merchant is really the worst design. I dont really know how they thought it was fine when they tested it.

There is really a big difference between 3-genning and not 3-genning with her. When I brought her to P9 (and I will never play her again), I did not 3-gen from the start. However, when there was an opportunity and I was about to lose, I used my Drones. And even if it was not a perfect 3-gen, it is laughable how much the game shifted from me almost losing to me winning without a real chance for the Survivors. And how long the games took because of this...

Eh its a top .01 bracket game. Like if they 4 outed on a michael myers right with no hooks? (In all seriousness i do hate skull merchants very design but we do gotta remember this is the upper bracket against a fairly experienced SM. And everytime we see like a wraith or top myers face these guys its dismissed as upper 1%)

  • @Rudjohns said:

Survivors need to keep 3-genning in mind

killer need to do the same with hooks

And on maps like midwich or ironworks of misery which can literally have 1 hook in a area? (One of the times i played midwich there was only 3 hooks upstairs making it so when you got rid of one impossible. People have even found an entire hallway with no hook at all. Ironworks of misery the entire middle building only has 1 hook inside of it if basements not there. So if someone dies on it (which survivors can easily force) you have the slug the rest hanging upstairs. (Rcpd had this problem to with the library). Its why sabo builds have been such a popular thing for troll teams.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

People love to call haste effects op (MfT mostly) but then they are okay with Bloodlust.

Bloodlust was needed when infinite loops was in game but this is not case anymore.

This outdated mechanic should be removed from game because we don't need it anymore.

There are still some horrid rngs. Like MacMillan estates one map i got 3 windows that lead right into eachother with safe pallets to add to the mix. The killer literally just never followed me there because he knew what would happen if he did. And coldwinds connected tiles...exist.

  • @EQWashu said:

Actually, they do; they flag the match for the ACMs. In all instances of a rule violation in game, this is required. From there, a Support Ticket is optional or required as well depending on the rule broken, as noted here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules

In regards to ragequitting and the like, the first sentence explains it. Its no different than the other examples like AFK, or admission of giving up in post game chat (like if they admit running to the killer to give up on first hook because they didn't want to play the match anymore). And yes, DCs are not reportable, and they may not be ragequits either (Years ago I myself had an internet outage right as I was jumping into the hatch; my friend thought I DC'd but then realized I disappeared from Steam and Discord as well).

i mean ive had a hand full of matches where people actually admit they dc because of "playing bore merchant" or "downing them with crutch perks" or other reasons. But yeah i do see the purposeful running at them, makes sense. Thank you!

  • @Rovend said:

I think it would be kind of unfair because if a survivor reaches a loop with no windows you could basically start manifesting while going through the dropped pallet and get a hit.

I think You could bait a survivor to drop a pallet by manifesting in front of them and if he drops the pallet before you fully maniefest you can cancel it while going through it and hit after.

Yeah thats fair. A slow when going through might be interesting because it wouldnt make it a instant hit for survivors but it wouldnt be totally useless like the current shove from pallets doing nothing to help sadako against looping. Demanifesting i felt they wanted pallets to be weaker. But they havent changed really at all. She needs a chase power and a no stun where you still have to break the pallet and it shoves you anyway does nothing.

  • @Ghostofsnow said:

none of those killers have a 4v1 power that forces players to do side objectives, and what if she demanifests while in a pallet waiting for the free hit with her lunge?

Ironically you say that but most gameplay ive seen on the ptb people get rid of 2 minutes of sadako tping around to fill their bars by grabing and putting tapes in tvs like 32 meters from eachother at most. Each one removing 4 bars. I havent seen really any side objective stalling use from sadako on the ptb. Especially in the faster paced matches with no memeing. And yeah they could put something in to hinder sadako if she goes inside a pallet like how guards work. Just spitballing im sure there could be a better way to approach her chasing with demanifestation than just a pallet stun immunity. Its done piss poor like the rest of her kit in the ptb rn.

  • @Ghostofsnow said:

what actual engagment would a survivor have chase wise in this scenario if they let her do that? it would just be leave the loop yet she isnt hindered like other killers that can just shut down loops and can even teleport across the map while having a team wide mechanic like pin head and pig.

You can still run through her so if she followed you through a pallet you can just vault back over the pallet. And if your running a loop you can watch her manifesting im pretty sure so just vault the pallet before she gets the manifest hit. Characters like dredge can make both sides a lose. Nurse can tp ontop of you. Knight pincers you. Ect. So it wouldnt be that broken i feel. And windows would still be your friend. So you could still do stuff against her. Shed just phase through survivors and pallets. But thats just my impression. I just think the stun invulnerability is useless in the current version.

  • @Ayodam said:

Why would survivors use Plot Twist and No Mither at the start of the match to slug themselves? They could just run No Mither, find the killer and achieve the same. Least they’d get some BPs out of it.

*me patiently waiting for a corruption block to instantly down myself and pick myself up and move away* "corrupt police nothing to see here.

"Corrupt Intervention deactivates prematurely once the first Survivor is put into the Dying State"

Im not giving a killer a hook to get rid of 1/4th of their perk set lol. I got gens to do.

    I'm torn.

I love the idea of Infectious Fright activating and Corrupt Intervention deactivating because of Plot Twist, but on the other side, I'd be mad and amused if my Corrupt Intervention deactivated because of Plot Twist.

I'm a big fan of litter interactions like that. Kind of why I hate the flashlight not destroying Hag's traps and stopping the Nurse's teleport.

Its kinda funny because i used a IF build for the knight where when the guards down someone people near me scream with distressing and IF. Its halarious, if they started making distinctions id be kinda sad. Because you can also do this with stuff like trappers honing stone.

Don't you have to hit a survivor to get a stack of STBFL. Also, doesn't Jolt say "When you down a survivor with a basic attack".

    Jolt would be funny though.

Yeah most perks say downed by basic attack. The only ones that dont are the ones that state by any means. So like corrupt deactivating. Infectious fright. And others. Those are the ones thatd activate when you down yourself with this. Because they are meant to work with other ways of downing through special attacks. Traps. Knight guards. Zombies. Ect.

  • @PeacenGreasealt said:

I literally new this would be a thing lol. I guess we’ll see how it affects the current best perk killers have, O don’t see No Mother driving up in usage to be fair, but coordinated teams could for sure get some decent mileage from this perk.

Yeah its pretty interesting i saw a cage use a chase build of overcome lucky break and plot twist against a corrupt. He got hit and the killer lost him. So he downed himself pausing the timer on lucky break and removing corrupt. Then just got back up and ran away.

  • I hope the slugdako style is removed with the one addon being reworked along side these buffs. Just me though maybe.

  • ...you have a power literally made for catching up. But ya didnt use it. And while you had bl2 i wouldnt have broken that pallet because its not very safe while you have bloodlust. But yeah theres a good bit of pallets on like the game or garden of pain and if survivors know how to connect them on a good bit of maps.

"I think many people would agree with me in saying that HillBilly needs some addons adjusted. But also, why is the overheat mechanic still a thing? It's pretty much a "non-factor" and there are addons to increase the overheat limit anyway.

I feel you. Billy occupies a squishy (albeit violent) place in all of our hearts, and we've been working on him! An update has been designed for our Billy-boy (including addons). No specific date planned for implementing this just yet, but you can expect news from us sometime in the next year. "

Are there any plans to rework or change freddy in any way?

I can't give you any super-secret details but I can tell you that he's on our radar for killers to update.

Whatever happened to the promised Twins rework? It was talked about to be the next killer update after Legion/Ghostface though we haven’t heard anything about it and afaik Twins are still plagued by many bugs as well.

Due to limited space in each release and the unexpected complexity of the update needed for the Twins, the update has been delayed a LOT longer than we wanted. :D However, it's been designed and we are working on releasing something in early 2024.

Thats i think all we know for now. Blight might get one to.

I'm not making any wider points about his balance, the point is that he's not an unusably nerfed killer and so there's nothing wrong with this challenge. He has bad addons, and the recent uptick in map clutter has not helped him, but he's not so bad that there's anything to criticise about giving him challenges in event tomes.

Hell, he's not even one of the weakest killers at this point. It's not like this challenge is to 4K with Sadako or Trapper.

Ironically sadako has a pretty high KR but yeah.

  • @jesterkind said:

I feel like this is the danger of repeating the exaggeration too much- people start actually believing it as though it's literally true.

Hillbilly was not and is not literally nerfed to death, he's just clunkier and weaker than he needs to be. He's still 100% viable and playable, and there's nothing wrong with having a challenge that requires playing him. Heck, if there's challenges for playing him, that means he's getting cosmetics and/or lore, which is good attention for a killer to get.

He got a whole mechanic basically pointed out to be redundant by his addonpass and they just had a sunken cost falicy of keeping it to the point he has 4 addons 1 of purple rarirty that literally does nothing because its so hard to overheat now. He wasnt nerfed to death but they coulda approached him a hundred times better than they did. (Also they even tried to nerf his engravings) but yeah.

    Also...this was a thing.

    Screenshot_20230702_133359_Chrome.jpg

(Compare his addon pass to any other we've gotten. Even the higher tier killers like spirit and nurse still have a good variety. Spirit honestly they need to look at again)

It gives Ghostface good slugging potential. Being able to down a Marked Survivor and instantly go back into Night Shroud to mark and down another person is pretty good.

Hm i would think youd get revealed unless you got 2 people close to mark and down the one and i guess can mark the other before your knocked out of it. I dont slug much so i guess i didnt see much of a advantage for it in my gameplay. I normally use the aura iri.

  • Me and my friends really love your artwork! Deserved!

  • Everyone likes it till they see no mither with 3 self healing perks. Lol

  • Didnt we have a problem with to much exhaustion like 2 years ago? Huntress and a bunch of other killers had stuff that could inflict exhaustion for 90 seconds. They wanted to move away from that. But now were even more in a exhaustion meta so they just bring exhaustion back as a normal thing with prolonged durations?

  • @JustAnotherNewbie said:

But aftercare only lets you see all of them and them you. They can't see each other if they don't bring any aura reading.

Yeah i realized that when reading the text again and i changed my wording a bit. I forgot it lets you see all 3 of them potentially and them only you. But at least it does give the 2 survivors knowledge of eachother permanently if the person with aftercare healed the other survivor. I dont think thats enough to be worried about if it was moved to permanent. But i was just making my guess.

  • I think this is a result of fear of aura reveal for teammates permanetly being to strong in any capacity. Why bond also has a range and is personal. And empathy a stipulation and the same. They feared giving survivors precise knowledge of eachother permanently would break the gamestate. Especially since aftercare goes both ways. But if anything it bridges the gap a bit between swf and solo. So with aftercares requirements i could see it going to permanent.

  • I will say i dont think ive escaped or lasted over a minute in chases more than when this perk came out. The 3% is nuts for chaining stuff. But most killers have something to get you early. Their own perks that could give them catchup. Or just the map can mess with ya. I just don't like the haste stacking.
