I like hag actually. If she does what you suggest, she will lose when you wait till the end of hook phases. There are several things you can do:
Crouching will not trigger traps
Flashlights destroy her traps.
If he injures someone in a chase, you can trigger her traps, and she has to choose if she switches target to you, or just stays with the other guy. IF she picks someone up, you can trigger her traps anyway.
You can trigger her traps with the maximum range to it and run away, and she won´t get you.

Myers?
If NOED is in play, basically any killer.
Bubba isn´t really a strong killer. He deserved a Buff.
Yet, with meyers, or noed, you can hooktrade. one takes the hit, the other unhooks, and with luck both get away, because of the basic-hit-cooldown. Bubba just goes through all at once.
I dont say he doesn´t need a buff, or deserve a nerf, i just say he is the best at camping there is, and others dont compare to him in that aspect.
-
@Tsulan said:
So what is it exactly that you complain about?
Him being able to facecamp? Because other killers can do that aswell. But no one complains about them.
Come on, noone can do it like bubba. No blocking the killer while someone else unhooks, no tanking hits, and if he instadowns, he downs all, not just one. What other killer can do that?

The most hilarious and mind-blowing thing is that killer player even ask what proper etiquette and so is and how they are "allowed" to play. That it has come this far.
I would love to see a group or even solo survivor see 3 gens pop during the first hooking and think to themselves "Boy now I have to got check for totems, loot a chest or go to the farthest generator to reduce pressure on the killer or i make it unfun for them."
The only thing you will get at best is the item drop or people walking up to hooks to ask to be sacrificed which, while the intention is good, still makes people feel like crap after getting 1-2 hooks all game.
I for one open all chests i come across, and do all totems. I personaly belive the games become more fun if they last a little longer, as long as they are still balanced. Pure genrush i only do with camping/tunneling killers. But as a solo survivor who uses aura perks to keep track of his teammates, let me tell you, often enough i am the only one doing gens anyway.

@arcticgirl36 said:
When I play I try to avoid camping as much as possible. I even try to alternate which survivor I hook, get as many hooks as possible, and go away to check distant generators. But often times I see a survivor circling me like a vulture while I am carrying another survivor to the hook. They don't even give me a chance to leave the area. Should I follow them in and get them as they are unhooking the other survivor? What is the proper thing to do?
Also should I keep an eye on hooked survivors from a distance? Let them get unhooked. Then go back in to the hook when I am alerted they are unhooked. (Because there will likely be two survivors in that area)
I am just asking what the best approach is. I am interested in giving everyone a fair game and proper etiquette. When I play killer I like to think of myself as dungeon master or the host of the game I am playing. But I still want to win.
First, let me thank you for the playstyle you try to play. I am a solo survivor main, and camping and tunneling just because you can sucks a lot of fun out of the game. (but there are times that this is even needed, i understand that).
I do meet killers like you, that come back to the hook after the unhook, and even though i run into them (by accident) they just go around me and go for the unhooker. I consider them really good sportsmen. (although i wouldn´t hold it against any player to just down me when i run into him, especially since there are people doing it on purpose to use that bt and stuff)
I like it, because as a solo survivor, i have no control over how my teammates play. If i go for an unhook, i try a safe unhook, or, if i need to make that unhook, i will try to tank the hit. Others don´t, though.
That being said, if you see an unhooker go in, just go for him. Even if the hooked one dies, because the other guy loops you around the hook, that is in no way, shape or form your fault. A lot of survivors are just plain stupid, and/or greedy for the points.
The "keeping an eye from the distance"-thing depends on the overall situation. Its fairer, and often better gameplay, to just leave the hook and go into the next chase with someone sitting on the gen (the one unhooking left his gen anyway), but there might be teams/situations where that is a bad choise if you want to win.
But there is really bad news: while there are players like myself that really like your playstyle, there are a lot of toxic teams out there that will punish and insult you for it. A lot of people, especially if they play only one side, consider the opposition as the enemy, not their fellow gamer and playing partner, as they should. I hope they dont get to you (they did get to me in the end), and you can keep enjoying playing fair.

I wasn't running it when it was op and I'm definitely not running it after the nerf.
The amount of tunneling hasn't changed.
I never run ds before, and i wont now either.
However, the amount of tunneling i encounter has skyrocket after the nerf, and while it didnt remain on the level it reached directly after the nerf, its still higher than before.
And since i keep stats of a lot of my survivor games, this is not just a feeling, i have the data that it happens to me. Of course, its statisticly insignificant, and if others experience no difference, i might be wrong in the big picture. But with so many people confirming my experiences, i doubt it.

That is a false equivalence. Let me try to make it a little more accurate.
Myself and four of my friends decide we want to join a basketball league for fun. The league we choose isn't a super try-hard competitive league because we aren't super try hard, competitive people. The league has been going for a couple years and we don't know any of the other teams or what their skill levels. That's not really important to us though, just that we think the game looks fun and just want to experience it.
When we first start playing matches, we lose almost every game because we aren't as good as the other teams and we just don't have any basketball skills. But we keep playing because we find it fun and we know we are new and can still improve. Little by little, we start to get the basics and learn how to play and we can sneak in a win here and there. Sometimes new teams join and we beat them, but we tell them, hang in there, we were in the same spot as you not long ago and if you keep at it you will get better too.
After 3 and a half years, we have really improved from where we were at the beginning. We are better than average and win more of our games than lose. That doesn't mean we don't lose. There are still teams that have been doing it longer that we go against every once in a while and they give as a good romping. But we know it is because of them having more experience than us and after all, it's just a game, nothing to be upset about. And we learn some things we can try for next time.
Sometimes we get one of those newer teams that hasn't been playing as long and we know we have more skills than. But this isn't a super competitive league. We chose not to be in a super competitive league on purpose. So we always play chill. They score some points, we score some points. We have fun, they have fun and hopefully learn some things from us that helps them get better.
Maybe they aren't exactly a new team, but their skills are just a little below ours and they are an average team. We still play pretty chill, but man we are making a lot of mistakes and they are on point. Maybe they beat us. Usually they don't because our skills are just a little better than theirs so most of the time we edge it out. But hey, we are all here to have fun and learn and get better.
Sometimes we go against teams that are about par with us. It's always a battle, every time we face them. Half the time they come out on top and half the time we come out on top. We are glad we don't face them all the time though, because we didn't really join to be in a super competitive league, we just wanted to play a game that looked fun.
So here we are, with a better than 50% win rate. We don't take the losses personal, it's just a game. But we do like that we can win the majority of our games without getting super sweaty because we have put in the time and honed our skills.
Today we got the news that the league has decided they are going to start matching people differently. They have decided no team should ever have to play against someone they don't have a 50/50 shot at beating. If you start beating the teams they are matching us with more than half the time, we are going to match you against different teams that you can only beat half the time. No more can you say you win more than 50% of your games.
So now to answer the question, if I am better than average and get more than a 50% win rate and the match making is changed so I can only get a 50% win rate, will the game feel less satisfying to me? Yes it will. Because part of the enjoyment for us was being able to see the progression from new to 3.5 years later and being able to say I've improved enough that I can win more of my games than I lose.
Does that make me a scum of the earth person because I might find it less enjoyable to have to play more competitively to win? Is that what you are trying to infer the people against MMR are?
The comparison is bad, in my opinion. What you dont acknowledge is the fact that the games you win in the old way might end up 72 to 75, but are often more likly to end up 93 to 5, either way. While it might be more enjoyable to you to lose a game 93 to 5 because you also win in this way, the new system will move to matches that are more likly to be 72 to 75, and at this point people like myself dont even care who won, because it was pretty close and a game up to the end, not already determined after the first quarter.

Bamboozle is such a meta, I can't even think of any other better perk on most killers. Sure, Nurses and Spirits don't need it but there are plenty of killers who can't get downs without it and the perk serves them kills.
If they cant get downs without it, then the perk surly doesnt deserve a nerf, but should be base kit, because, you know, killers are supposed to get downs. If they cant, it shows something is wrong, and you shouldnt need a perk to overcome that.
-
During the last test, my matches were fantastic, and i didnt understand why everyone else had a bad time.
This test, i had that bad experience. More than half of all killers (i keept stats of my games during the test) were just tunneling hard, and a lot of time i had teammates that didnt know how to handle that, in some cases players with less than 10 hours into the game.
-
I played 18 solo survivor games this far, and 11 of them consisted purely of the killer tunneling out one guy, and then 50% of games the other survivors just hide.
Half the killers were red ranks, while i was paired with rank 20 guys with one lvl 1 perk...
I think i stop playing until the test is done.

This is also not the first time they've tested MMR and we're experience this issue.
Fun fact. During the last test, i had a wonderful experience, both teammates and killers were about equal to my skill level.
This test is quite the opposite. Played 6 games yesterday, and had 5 4k games. Only escaped one, and that was me alone due to hatch. In no match 5 gens were finished. I keep track of games just a few days ago, and no matter how many people got killed, 5 gens done were the vast majority of games. Solo survivor only, btw.

like, i no longer lose a blendette just because she walks in front of a dark surface! how cool is that?
Deathslinger looks significantly worse though without the shadow of his hat covering his eyes.
Yeah, its why the game becomes stale to me. Stealth play becomes less and less an option, with reworked maps without hidding places or los-blockers, colorfilters to brighten it up, stretched resolution, and what the heck else.
I play less and less, because chases without the ability to lose the killer in the end is nothing i enjoy. I know its enough on gameplay terms to make him waste time, but it becomes less and less worth my time.
-
Well, i still think keys are ok in most cases, a lot of killers are irrationaly afraid of them.
The main difference between keys and moris were that a mori could determine the outcome of a game early on, or even turn an almost lost game into a win later.
Keys dont have that power, they always come in late in the game, when either a lot of gens are done or a lot of survivors are dead, and they dont turn the lost game into a victory, they just let you escape.
While i dont doubt the 3-6% key users, i believe there is a rise in useage, simply because the devs announced an incoming nerf, and we all know they like to overdue things, and keys are most likely the next in line to be useless. There is no reason to keep them, so a lot of people use them now.
But to be fair, we saw the same when they announced they look into moris. (and i admit, i played a mori on every killergame i did, just like i now use up my keys).
The main issue with keys in my opinion is if swf brings them, but thats rather a swf issue. I bring them because i play only solo, and every second game you have a dc or someone suiciding on first hook after not even try to evade the killer. So either i could run up to the killer to end the game there, or i keep fighting because i have a key and might still make it out, and thus i keep playing the game.
Most killers that are against that have either bad experiences with swf, or just enjoy the undeserved advantage of being in a 3v1 match in a 4v1 game.
And yes, i get tunneled often if i bring a key, but then i also get tunneled often if i dont bring a key, because, as many killers will tell you, tunneling is a good strat to get rid of someone. keys have rather the option to make that strategy not worth it.

I'd say no, she shouldn't get a glimpse of the survivors as well because she already gets so much information when phasing. Especially when the survivor is injured. I don't think she needs anymore help. The Spirit is currently strong enough to outplay survivors without seeing them and this would remain that way if they saw glimpses of her. If anything it would just add a new, more interesting dynamic and actually make her require some skill to play as.
But the point is that she doesnt get that information anymore with that change. But she too needs some kind of information.
The argument that is always made is that it shouldn´t just be a cointoss. But that is true for the spirit as well.
Edit: Sorry, i mixed up the start post and another post by another user, because the same ideas get thrown around anyway.

You dont see survivors teabagging the killer that just slugged 2 players and is in chase with the 3rd, they do it at the exit gate when they escape with few to no losses.

Meaningful choice leads to skillful interaction between both parties that has a higher chance of ending in favor of the more skilled player.
As opposed to having no meaningful choice and your skill doesn't matter half as much as your ability to just guess correctly.
But with a matchmaking that doesnt reflect skill in any way, why should that be a good thing?
If this game gets a working MMR, it might change, but right now?
Why is it a good thing, that the rank 18 killer matched with the red rank swf should not have a chance to do anything?
-

Here, have a reason.
You can't make a meaningful choice against her because she gives you no information, unlike literally every other killer in the game.
Adn what would meaningful choiced lead to? its just part of the other argument, really.

my question however is do you change how you play when you see someone has a key? why or why not?
keys have many uses other than just "opening hatch" I personally like to use it for the bond effect but I cant because it gets me tunneled every time and I dont think its fair to the person being tunneled because they get rushed and cant play the game, the other survivors because they dont get to do chases which makes the game boring for them, or the killer because they just wasted their time to "put that survivor in their place so they dont get a 'free win'."
I dont think keys are worth their bond effect, because it is not powerful enough to justify being tunneled all game.

Not if we get a working matchmaking by then. Becasue those other killers will stay in lower ranks then, and you will just have less variety in high ranks.
But since i dont believe they will get the MMR right, yeah, people will be kept being carried by matching them with lower rank killers.

Why is she fine as she is though? "You can gen rush her and get out easily" and "She loses to good teams" are not very strong arguments because the first one applies to every killer in the game, and the second one applies to a group of players who make up maybe a fraction of a percent of the community and, like argument 1, that also applies to every killer.
Me and everyone else can give a million and one reasons as to why she's NOT fine, but I haven't heard a good reason for the opposite.

It means that the killer is by the survivor and then there for the whole duration of time. Maybe you should look it up on google. I swear it's like a Roblox Game On Roblox. 😟
Google doesnt help, because everyone has their own definiton.
I had games as killer, where i hooked someone, saw someone else with bbq, and engaged him on the other side of the map.
He then run straigt back to the hook and looped me around it. And called me camper for that.
In my opinion, it shouldnt stop the timer. Also, if i turn around and see scratch marks and look for the survivor that made them, thats not camping either to me. So both cases should not stop the timer.
The thing is you want the system to change, so you give your metrics, not google. Because you need to propose a system that is not abusable AND hold up for your requirements.
Also, why start this thread? Just google why its not in the game.

Are we tired of how Bubbas, and other killers trying to face camp other survivors? This is my idea of how the "killers" begins to be face camping you.
Sacrifice Progress Stops The Timer
I know this sounds like a stupid idea but what if the killer like a bubba chainsaws you and they begin to hook you? There should be a mechanic that if the killer camps during the duration of time for the 1 hook state the time will stop until the survivor unhooks you.
Deliverance should have a buff with endurance come in play
If the 1st one is bad enough why not we buff deliverance with endurance if the killer face camps you. if they use insidious it will still work like borrowed time and you still will have the endurance effect.
I hope two of these things would be a great suggestion, if the killer begins to face camp you on hook. I hope this suggestion will help new players and other players out. 😉
Please define camping for me.
And then give the terms on which it should happen, because on terms where the killer doesnt camp it shouldnt.

I don't know, man. People say Spirit is OP, Freddy, Demogorgon, Deathslinger, now Wraith. But they ignore Nurse? I really can't wrap my head around it.
There is a rule in FantasyRPGs for magical weapons being worth to keep.
If it has a very strong bonus vs a rare beast (like a +5 against dragons or something) it still might be worth less than a magical weapson with a small bonus for something common (+1 against orcs).
And this might be the same, rather get the killers nerfed you see all the time instead of a stronger one you almost never encounter.
The problem is that the complains never end. They complain about a killer until he gets nerfed, then move on to the next killer. Then they complain about queue times and only seeing the same killers (that need a nerf, of course). And round and round it goes.
-

I've been saying this, since she came out. She will stay broken until she gets reworked completely. Just because Nurse requires higher skill to play, that doesn't justify her being completely broken. But hey there are still people who believe her base power is fine, so yeah..
It is a question what you want to balance around. You are right, but if you balance nurse around her potential, then you have to balance other aspects of the game as well, most notibly swf.
The argument usually is that not all swf are squad teams and you shouldn´t balance around the top players, but then the same argument has to be true for killers. You cant just have double standards here, at least in my opinion.

If those were multipliers, the same principle would be used for everything else. Can you imagine stacking slowdown perks that way?

-
Yes, your points are valid, but should also be valid for others.
"noone wants to play killer" ...against an swf. But a random killer doesnt have the opportunity.
"its not as fun to do a meme build on someone you know"...because you cant behave like you want, and you cant pretend anymore its ok.
SWF abuses the disability of killers to opt out, because they would for the same reason noone does that in kyf.

The problem with nerfing swf is that not every swf is a sweat squad, some just play to meme around with 4 head on builds or something similar. That's why the alternative, buffing all solo survivors and then killers in a way that doesnt really effect swf is what most people want. To me, the best way would be by giving info to the survivors that would be useless to swf (Such as maybe as soon as a killer gets into the first chase the whole team learns who the killer is, something that is useless to swf bc they can just tell each other).
And why is it a problem to just do that in a kyf-game? Is it because it might not be fun for the killer, so noone wants to do it?
Edit:
Also, whenever i see a thread about spirit, it is never about the average spirit that you encounter most of the time, its always about the toxic godlike stridor-spirit with the 2000€ Headphones.
Why cant we use the same metric for swf? Its enough that the top teams can abuse it. Or stop the nerf-spirit threads, because most spirits arent sweaty either.

Does it count if it was mid game on a Twitch chat instead of end game?
I sometimes go rewatch games vs ttv people if they were live during our game. So, while I knew I had a TTV, I didn't know they were in a 4 person SWF.
What I did know is threefold.
- I hate keys. The fastest way for you to get me to tunnel you out of the game is to bring one.
- The Christmas Claudette brought a Key.
- I had queued as Pyramid Head who... kind of specializes in tunneling.
Then half way through the game after Christmas Claudette was dead, they put in Twitch chat "I brought a key for this." subtext being that they were sad/disappointed/annoyed that they wasted a very strong item on a terrible game. Mate... the game turned terrible for you the second you brought the key. Seriously... just about every Survivor should know at this point that bringing a key frequently buys you a 1 way ticket to Tunnelville.
Why do keys deserve a nerf, then? Because it seems the consequence for bringing a key is tunneling, doesn´t it balance out that way?
-
I think its because i get angry when i can´t express myself because i cant use ingame terminology, but knowing that it makes no difference to anyone else, i voice this frustation more freely, knowing that noone will see it anyway.
I wouldnt do it if i could actually offend someone with it. Its like playing a game where you kill other people, but would never use violence in real life.

stealth apply to all killers you can also stealth doctor. but you cant loop spirit, that's the point
You cannot loop her, but you can still escape her in a chase.
-
Looping is part of the game, but please stop pretending its the only part of the game. There are different playstyles (like stealth), but there are people that dont like that.
doctor is a killer that mostly negates stealth, spirit is a killer that mostly negates mindless looping. I like it when different killers attack different aspects of the game, because it doesn´t become stale too fast that way.
However, lots of survivor players only learned the one aspect and didn´t care about the others, and now judge balance around that one aspect.
-
Hmm, i keep stats from time to time, usually after big changes, and have over 500 games all together. My personal escape rate (including hatches) are around 72% overall in red rank solo queue. But i discount games where people disconnect on first down.
It also dropps around rank reset, when i usually dont record the games until i reach red ranks again. It also dropped after the ds change, because tunneling and camping saw a heavy rise in my games.
I think kill rates and escape rates are so heavy related to each other, that more statistics are needed. However, having seen how the community interprets any given statistics without understanding them, i wouldn´t realease them as a dev either.

And yeah, that's probably the biggest part I hate about the Hag-- the camp. 15 traps around a hook is just standard business-- the guy can expect to go to second stage, if he ever gets off at all. And if they're in the basement? Forget about it.
The Hag gets to win and facecamp better than almost anyone else at the same time.
Or you just destroy her traps when she already injured one, making her chose between a new injure or a down, or when she picks up someone.

SO most would agree NOED isn't a great perk slot? I can't seem to find a scenario where I would need it over something else. Cause if it only gets you a 1k instead of 0 at the end of the match. Chances there's a greater issue than your play style. It could be that NOED keeps you from having an edge on survivors during the majority of the time. Imagine all the other perks you can roll besides NOED.
If you run an endgame build, it usually is fine. Open a gate, hook a survivor, and watch their terror because blood warden activated.
(there was a challenge to sacriice people during egc, and i used that build. 3 Survivors teabagging in the exit gate, i hook a guy next to it, and they all go down, i just couldnt hook all 3, because not enough hooks near ^^. That was fun :))

If a Killer downs me in less than a minute, I made a mistake, got caught in a dead zone or they used their power phenomenally well.
Unless its a Spirit, then none of the above can happen and I can still go down quickly
So, a killer needs 12 hooks to kill all survivors, that mean, if a chase should go on for 1 minutes, 12 minutes if he engages one the moment he hooks one. By this metric, the killer can never win the game. Thats why killers that cut chases short are needed.

Isnt the point of spirits ability to not be looped easily?

Doctor: Madness hides the survivor HUD, and his Illusions now include hooking and hooked survivor illusions.

Today i had a game vs a 4 red-rank-swf that all run the same build with resilience, no mither, prove theyself, and streetwise or build to last.
They all had a green toolbox with brand new part and i cant remember the second addon.
Yeah, even with no mither it was a very tough but short match. i got one of them, and gens just flew.
It just happens, but its not the power of BNP, its the power of swf.

MMR would put Killers against survivors that match the Killers skill level. The matchmaking is so bad right now that Killers and survivors are getting screwed. You're getting matched with survivor death-squads or survivors are getting potatoes in their group. MMR will fix these very unfun matches.
Do you have any proof of that? Because to me it seems like wishfull thinking, especially with no details how mmr will work and what it goals will actually be (other than a "better experience for both killers and survivors")

A lot of my games over the last few months had keys in them. Especially during the chest bug that produced keys at the rate of brown toolboxes.
The issue with keys becomes if you kill one survivor, now three can escape. So you end up trying to slug all four to avoid this scenario. This is boring for both sides.
Sure they did. I am using up my keys since they announced they are going to change, just like i used an ebony mori in every of my killer games because i had so many and knew they would become useless.
The fact that they are going to change is what makes them appear so often in games (outside of chest bugs).
Also, i actually like your scenario, because since the ds nerf, a lot of killers tunnel and camp. Escaping then with a key is just sweet. Because tunneling and camping is no less boring.

It happens quite often that when I play solo survivor, 2 or 3 gens get done by the time the killer gets his first hook.
You´re lucky then, in most of my games my teammates have serious gen-allergies, but think flashlights give them the power to command other players around.

In before someone claims (again) that this is a real rare thing and not a normal match.
Well, how often does it happen to you if you play vs a solo team, and not a swf?
