I'm hoping for a cool skin. No charm please.

When I do it, it's usually a "That didn't hit me and you know it" click, but it can also mean "Ok, you got me. Let's keep going" kind of thing.

You're telling me that you thought loading into a game, getting 1 shot downed by a Billy then instantly mori'd..... was fun?
I'm talking about DBD as a whole. Of course some ######### was stupid, but I can look back on it now and laugh. C'mon dude.

I know this is sarcasm, but it truly was a lot more fun in 2016/2017 even with the infinites, vaccuums, and various OP and buggy bullshit. A lot of the fun was discovering what was broken and exploiting it. Hahah. Of course I would never do that now.
-
Not saying the grind is fine, but I think you can play the game and have fun with a lot of perks even at tier 1. Too much emphasis is put on getting all perks to tier 3 when only a fraction of them are any good. At low and mid? It's not necessary. I agree about the experimenting part though-- that's fun.
I'd like BHVR to allow players to somehow choose certain perks as a type of reward system to help with whatever direction players want to go. Along with the random perks that pop up, I think that would help a lot. But we'll see. They've been talking about the grind more lately, so there might be something announced in the Anniversary stream. It would be the smart move anyway.
-
That's the downside of playing a game that has its roots on the PC platform... where playing killer is easier to control with K&M and hardware upgrades are frequent enough so that hiccups aren't that big an issue, except for the few that just can't upgrade for whatever reason.
The times I go against a console killer, it's usually very noticeable because of movement and (it seems like) they have a harder time tracking.

Mclean: "I hesitate to use the word exploit because someone gonna quote me out of context."

Which happens in every one of these threads, he didnt want to label them exploits. Period.
I don't know why you tagged me but I'll respond. McLean is right in not using the word "exploit". It's because people will demand bans on something that isn't ban-worthy (in BHVR's eyes). It's still exploiting a BUG.
I understand that people do not like being called cheaters which is why they don't want to be called exploiters. So what. It is what it is and they're fixing the BUG eventually so people can't EXPLOIT it anymore.
Exploit a bug to achieve xxx.
Use a bug to achieve xxx.
Pick whichever you want.

I'm certainly looking forward to the announcement of changes and their associated reactions.
Yeah. I have a feeling we're more than halfway through this product's life cycle and we've seen what they can do with it. I think they need something huge, and not in terms of health updates or map reworks or Bloodweb changes. Those are great, but there has to be something substantial to freshen things up.

I'd rock a Gumby with Cazals and Pumas all day.

Same here. I'm still convinced that he was outright cheating since he was bragging about it in my PSN inbox (specifically he says that he targets Bubba's). It's possible that he lag-switched me as well to make it look like a connection issue. This has never happened to me before and I've never seen anyone just disappear.
Well if you're taking the word of a cheater as truth, then I don't know what to say about that, but I will say this-- If someone accuses me of wallhacking or lagswitching or if some bizarre anomaly not of my doing, happened in game... I'll "admit" to it 100% just for fun. It's not hard to be convincing if the other party even remotely suspects something.

Thanks for uploading a video though. Not enough of these are posted when people talk about hackers. I like seeing proof.
It's good to see what people think is hacking or when it's just a mistake.

I'm hoping this is what BHVR has to announce on their anniversary stream. They've been "listening" so maybe this is part of what they're planning.
I have low expectation of them reverting to the old system, but then again, you never know!
-
Just barely. Most of the backstories I hear are from random posts and names ingame.. and a lot of that is fanfic. I've got a few bits on Jeff, Kate, and Jane that I shall not disclose here!
I have yet to watch any of the videos from the tomes.

BHVR can make Nea old if they want. Maybe they can team up with AARP and make a Twitter post and everything.

Exploits are bannable offenses. Hug tech is not bannable.
There are degrees of exploits you know. Sometimes they won't ban for it and just fix the problem. Enjoy while you can.

Sorta confused. Some people state that devs have said that his tech is intended, and other people claim devs have said its a bug. So it turns into a he-said-she-said situation, y'know?
McLean said it was a bug to be able to do do those techs, several times on his stream.. and he was one of the designers. So yes, exploits.
He said it fairly recently too? Can't really remember because the months are flying by. But, you can always ask him again. He still streams on Twitch every once in a while.

Hell no. Leave my tbagging and pinata hitting alone. I love taunts and BM. It's PVP-- Expect it.

I don't understand why people say grades only reflect time played.
Not really, if you suck, you will not reach red grades.
At some point to progress upwards you have to beat the survivors and pip. And pipping gets harder as you play more and get better teams.
I have 10 hook 3k games and still no pip. You have to win to reach the top.
Yeah. This is pretty funny. I always said that because it's partially true, but not true enough to remove it from view. If grades only reflect time played, then do just that--make the system truly that way, like Devotion, where it doesn't penalize you for not meeting criteria. Don't have a system where you have to achieve that criteria to rank up as if it required skill, because then that reflects what your skill level is. It might not be fully encompassing or accurate on true skill, but it was in place to reflect a certain skillset to be able to complete tasks, and it was all we had.
I don't mind a type of pip system, but if BHVR is going to officially have a stance that grades only reflected time played, then remove the penalties associated with it. It's pretty ######### lame in that case.
-
This is one of those "No duh" videos. Anyone that's played a real comp game, 1v1 or team based game knows right off the bat that this game is not ready for prime time tournament action. It may have some depth.. but c'mon.
Shroud has already said a long time ago that this game wasn't for him. That thumbnail was damn funny though.

According to a mod thats not like that only one survivor for one world is taken and this david is gay I have same idea.Presenting different Davids from different Terra worlds
I don't care too much about BHVR lore. I pick and choose what I like, then create my own for any game I play.
Same thing goes with Jane. If they ever decide to make her gay... what does it matter to me? She's all hetero in my world. Maybe a little bi curious, but she can take it or leave it. This is all fantasy as far as I'm concerned. Nothing is real.
-
I think the system can work well with more tweaking. I say this because there were some tests that worked out well. I waited longer in queue, but at least there were some recognizable names in my lobby. Right now, it seems like they're prioritizing queue times for survivor because I get matches very quickly. This is with crossplay on and off, and a few hours before/during/after prime time. I don't know how they match players with others, but I'm guessing right now the crossover zone is too broad. I'd like to see them restrict it more.
As killer, it's a joke. I hardly feel resistance. Maybe 1 in 6 matches, and that pressure is mostly felt by some SWFs. Otherwise, I'll get maybe 2 good players and 2 bad players.
At the same time, it could be the new tome release that's ######### everything up. Who knows?
-
Nice to know. Thanks buddy.
-
I think it was hotpatched a few minutes ago. Healing now regresses if you leave the AOE and you make a sound if at any time you stop healing before you've completed.
-
@Sakurra said:
So dead hard users are gays? Joke
Btw: David doesn't look like a gay AT ALL. For me he's straight.
The lore doesn't even matter. He can be straight in your realm and that's fine.
-
Very quick queues, but you'll get a mix of a couple good and a couple bad. Try turning off crossplay. I'm on PC, and that helps.
-
In the last couple years, they've shortened structures and walls making them unsafe, added random objects like rocks and boxes to normal loops to make them a little unpredictable, and of course they've added killers that bypass a lot of the old loop loop. You can still do it, but it's definitely not like before, and it's why survivors that like to run killers run DH-- it gets them out of one of those unpredictable situations. I'm finding that a lot of the newer survivors just like to pre-throw, especially with how fast gens go these days. It's not about resource management as much anymore.. which is a shame. There was skill in that.
-
BHVR already said they don't actively ban for it but if EAC picks it up, then they won't help you.
-
He'd only need one.
-
It's been like this since before MMR was a thing. It sounds like it's different for your region, but there's a block of time when you will get good teammates, and times when you will get a mix of good and bad, and sometimes just bad. It also doesn't help that it's a weekend when a lot of casuals come out to play.
-
I have yet to see it with crossplay off on PC after the nerf. Don't think it needs another nerf.

I agree that if everyone is dead/hooked/carried/dying; there should be a 'Give up' option.
I just disagree that Survivors should have a way to give up & give their buddy the hatch.
That's the purpose of the husk. The devs mentioned this at one point when they were talking about DCs and giving hatch.
-
The only counter that I really want from this is a mechanic that gets me out of a game that's obviously over, so something similar to the hook mechanic where you have to hit a skill check to stay alive. Leave my husk and have it only activate after everyone's slugged if that's a problem-- I just want to move on to the next game.
-
I'm pretty sure she's going to get another pass and nerf/rework/change at some point, but they had to fix her first then collect data to see how good or bad she really is before any of that happens... and that might take a while.
-
Secondary objectives are already in the game via The Rift. They also tested an early game stall mechanic and they scrapped that idea so I doubt they'll add more to what's already in place.
As far as PInhead's box, it's been talked about already and I agree that once you lessen the gap between solo and SWF, that mechanic and a lot of other things won't be that big a problem.
-
I don't know, but this is the time BHVR should be doing their balancing tests-- when nobody is preoccupied with another objective and potentially throwing games just to finish them. Then get that data and adjust the challenges as needed. That would be quite a task though.
-
There are a lot of maps I don't like when I'm playing a particular side, but for both sides, it's RPD.
-
I still do out of habit. Been watching DBD streamers since 2016 and I have no doubt that it was Twitch that brought DBD back from the dead. Bahroo quitting because of infinites, but then coming back. Angrypug tbagging while running infinites. Quizzle doing his blindfold streams. 72hours was so advanced and so was JaehyunC. Survivor skill levels increased so much with the help of these guys. Entitylefthand and his hours long hatch standoffs. So many fun moments, and there's still a bunch of good content. Lots of polarizing views these days as well but still fun to watch while I'm working.
-
Get the other side to Iri 1 too, and unless there's a tome to unlock or perks to grind, I don't play until rank reset.
-
I've been getting more out-of-region killers AND SWF survivors so it makes me think they're not using a VPN. I think BHVR opened it up a little for faster queues. Maybe a little tweak to get MMR more in range with yours?
IF this is the case, I'd rather there be an option to either wait it out or choose faster queues. I'll wait it out every time.
-
I think it was Patrick that mentioned how they're aware people like seeing a displayed rank level (badge) and that they're looking into putting something in, but he gave no ETA.
-
Ask in a month. I'm guessing they're still tweaking the system.
-
@InvadeGames said:
im confused by this. people say they see them all the time but when i play surv blight and nurse COMBINEd make up maybe 5-10 percent of matches. my games are overwhelmingly sadoko and freddy to a combined amount of like 50-60%
At high MMR and during prime time, you will see a lot of good ones.
-
The good thing is that they're aware of the problem and also that they know the grind gets exponentially worse with each DLC release. Peanits specifically mentioned that when a question came up about removing perk tiers, so I'm hoping that whatever system they come up with, it will take care of those issues.
-
When Michael came out he was in a very good place. It's just that over the years power creep pushed him way down. He'll shine again one day.

@katoptris said:
Well that nice but I don't think this will stop them from messing with it again.
You're right. UE is notorious for being hackable and programmers can find a workaround for every patch a company puts out. It's up to the company to keep up with patching and banning. I doubt this will be the end of ban waves from BHVR. It's going to be an ongoing thing.
-
Iri gets censored yet the S word gets by for me. Funny #########.
-
I think it's mainly because they don't have the manpower to police all the reports. The second reason is because they don't want to lose on their numbers. 10, 20, xx bans a day adds up.
-
Getting to P3 takes about 30-40 hours. If you play a lot, then it might be worth it to do 2 characters. It's definitely not worth it to do the whole lot these days.
-
Well over an hour on Ironworks. That was the longest before I had to go. There were a few half hour ones on Fractured Cowshed and Coal Tower. Suffocation Pit. Haddonfield. And those could have lasted longer if either of us didn't get bored. Without infinites, it was still easy to stretch out chases to 15 minutes.
