I mean you cant say it just like that…for messing around
You can try different perks, you see it works well. You stick with it (for some time).
With such apart hooks, potential luck or rng with dull totems, yeah…seems quite strong build.
In fact, to be actually really competative killer I only see plague and oni. With a lot factors involved.
I am saying it just like that. You have more control with Unbreakable than Exponential. A good SWF does not need to self pick-up over and over unless it's for fun. When I say meta, I mean best of the best. Exponential isn't good enough to be one. It's just ok. It's situational and for shits and giggles and oh damn look-at-that-"outplay"-because-all-the-stars-aligned memey moments.
Plague and Oni? :D
-
SWF might mess with different builds, especially if they want to ######### around, but Exponential will not replace any of the top 4 survivor perks for SWF that truly want to escape.
Now if you're talking about a screw around SWF meta, then ok.. I can see where it might be fun, but it's not something to count on to win. It's to ######### around.
-
Don't rely on your teammates unless you know they're good. Use non-meta perks and try to have fun than to escape. You should still be able to get a 50% escape rate unless you're too aggressive or very unlucky.
-
The only ones I see arguing about it are people that want something to argue about and keep the drama going. People that said their piece against Lightborn have already left the building. It did get some traction because complaining in this game is a meme and the post linked in that story is a funny read the more you read -- It encapsulates the essence of the vocal minority in a nutshell.
-
The grind... take that away and I'll stop playing. It does help that no other worthwhile grindy multiplayer game has come out in the last few years.
-
I don't think we need a minimap, but it really would help if they let people wander around on their own. They let people with friends do it-- it should be opened to all.

@steezo_de I have a question about caws of death...do they mean use dire crows to down a survivor or simply down a survivor while they are already swarmed?
I was downing with crows. I never bothered checking if it counted when m1ing them. Downing with crows is pretty easy though once you figure out how to effectively place them.

Ringu and The Ring are almost the exact same thing..................
There are some differences that are both subtle and easily noticeable but otherwise the movies match up almost shot for shot.
To say one sucks is to say the other sucks pretty much

both movies have different atmosphere and those same scenes have different details and perfomance. Sadako's adoptive father doesn't kill himself in the original movie, Sadako uses only unkown sounds to warn her victims while Samara says "7 days" and there are more different stuff in the original movie.
There's also a lot of religious beliefs and cultural differences that westerners cannot even begin to understand without having lived in Japan for some time. This does not translate over well in movies. I liked the remake, but that's the American in me wanting to see an American take. However, it did remove a lot of the nuances in the Japanese version, which, when it came out was very original to American horror audiences that was looking for something different at that time. The remake had a different feel to it and some of the story was cut out even though the director wanted it to be very similar. I think the only reason why I liked the remake as much as I did (I give it a 6 out of 10) is because I already knew the story from the original version (which I give a 8 out of 10).
Anyway, i just wanted to add my thoughts into this. The two movies may have similar scenes, but they are still very different, especially if you're Japanese or saw the original first. The American version is very direct in its scares where the Japanese version had more subtlety and intrigue.
-
I'm glad they're doing the real Sadako instead of letting it be with the "inspired by" version we have now. At least now they're forced to use her original sounds. No waaaahs.
Going to be another instabuy for me. Can't wait.
-
I think all complaints should be accompanied by video evidence so we can all see what's really going on, even if it shows something contrary to what you think. Kudos for sharing.

"Acceptable" in that you are always considered bad and a no-skill when you can't loop. As a survivor I can do basically anything besides looping, and I do get called bad all the time because "other things require no skill".
Are there really no other skills involved in this game?
There are other skills, but that usually doesn't even matter unless you know your teammates are good too. Good survivors know when and how to save, and when to go down so the team can reset. Good teammates know how to bodyblock WHEN it counts and know how to shadow injured teammates for protection hits. It really goes on, but most of it requires the right team.. that said, people that know how to do all that already know how to loop because it's the one skill you can have that doesn't require anyone else.
The best thing you can do is not get downed in the first place and if you keep going down 10 seconds into getting found because you never learned to loop, you're just giving the killer a lot of pressure and that's not good for the team.
At the end of the day, play how you want-- it's you're game. but it's really the only way survivors on the other side of the map can tell if you're good or not, especially if the match just started, so don't be surprised if they call you out at the end of the match.
-
The grind is fine for ME. As it is, I take a break not long after capping out perks and screwing around with new builds. I wouldn't play nearly as much if the grind were less.
It does suck for newer players though or people wanting to get all perks on all their characters.
-
It doesn't work on at least Legion. It progresses fine on Artist.
And actually if you're going after achievements, it's better if you do it on Artist because "Caws of Death" ranks up well with it. I was at 45/50 with CoD when I finished "Prowler".
-
They were most likely ######### around and making it seem like they were serious, especially since sarcasm isn't conveyed well over type. The report system is a joke to lots of people.

Agreed with most of what you said besides the balanced part. Nothing is balanced.
It's balanced enough, at around 70%. That's why people should not take this game so seriously.

Well. I don't know. This game was developed for solo survivors and some of the complaints have merit. Regardless how I feel about the topic, nothing is going to be done about it. It's also more than just a few complaints. I see them on here daily and have for years.
It may have initially been designed that killers would only play solo survivors, but somewhere in the development cycle they wanted to implement SWF features, but they couldn't get it out in time for release. This was mentioned in one of their earlier dev streams. Some people don't believe it, but it doesn't matter.
Regardless, SWF has been in the game for 5 years and BHVR has balanced this game to a degree with SWF in mind. It's not going anywhere.
-
Completing achievements and capping out all perks after each DLC. Everything else that happens in game to get me there doesn't compare to that satisfaction.

Yes, character and perk helps a lot, i usually play doc with BBQ/distressing/Beast of prey/hex:TOHT and i rarely gain less than 50/60k per game without offering.
The only thing i would be a bit carefull about is the BP offering, especially the 50% one, I made a post about it a while ago and they can sometime be a detriment to our BP gain, even more so while playing survivor since you only pay them back if you get 6000k in the chosen categorie, which isn't always that easy to get with survival or altruism.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2657182#Comment_2657182
That's way too confusing for the OP and you're putting too much thought into it. It doesn't matter what BP offerings he buys as long as it gets him to the perk he wants and complete the bloodweb in the cheapest way possible.
OP- you shouldn't even be playing any other killer if you don't have BBQ on them. You already have it on Bubba and he's very good except at the highest level, and even then he's ok. Focus on getting BBQ 3, then just use him as your BP maker until you're comfortable enough with your build to start building up your other killers.
The sad fact is, is that you you'll need upwards of several thousand hours to cap out all killers and survivors without prestiging. Maybe half that if you just concentrate on the killer side. If you don't have that time, then just focus on a couple of your favorite killers first, besides Bubba, just to break up the monotony.
-
It might be, but it seems like that would be two wasted slots. I'd rather have something I can control more instead of relying on RNG tiles and/or killers' tracking abilities. I'll still try it though just to break things up a little.
-
Not bored, but I'm not playing because I'm capped out again and just waiting for the DLC to drop.. and also backlogged on a bunch of other games I recently bought.

There is going to be a DBD 2?
Nothing's been announced. I'm just speculating that they will because of the money they've made from DBD, and the smart move is to invest that in a "better" version of what they already have. DBD will need a reboot eventually.
-
It would be cool if there were an option, but really, I'd rather they save it for DBD 2 instead of wasting their resources for the current game-- especially when they could be using those resources to fix other things.

Only 2 to 3? For a game that just peaked recently and doesn't have Jason in it yet? I am spamming x for doubt.
You can spam x all you like but I don't see many multiplayer game this popular staying this popular more than a couple more years. The runaway exceptions for lastability being WoW and PoE, and that's because there's a lot more depth to them. The next few years will probably be solid years for DBD but then, like most other multiplayer games, popularity will wane and players will move on to something else. I'll follow the odds of gaming history.

"this shouldnt be expensive and shouldnt require much work, if BHVR is not adding this is just lazyness"
Oh, so you are a DBD developer, how else could you know that it wouldn't require much work?
I think it's a good idea to have a system like that in place but to say it's not expensive or shouldn't require much work is wrong. I know it's not even on their roadmap, and to develop a replay system can take years-- especially with their small programming team. If they were going to implement it, they should have announced it years ago.. and really, I don't think DBD has many solid years left in it. 2-3 maybe? So I don't see why they'd want to dedicate the manpower to see that endeavor through when they can pick smaller projects that more players can enjoy, like a better bloodweb or way of earning bloodpoints, a decent ranking and leaderboard system, a practice or better KYF mode with map seeds, etc.
-
Meanwhile she's probably patting herself on the back because she guess right twice in a row. I know the thought recently is to automatically think "hacks" but this sounds like luck, unless you can show her doing it consistently. Twice isn't consistent.
-
As far as queue times, it's probably your time and region. Right now, it takes me several minutes to get a game as killer. Instant as survivor. Roughly 7 hours from now that's switched.
-
Nope. If I have a bad night, I'll stop and play something else. I love the game, but it doesn't mean I can't stop playing for a day or two.
Nothing is more important than your health and if you feel you need to take a long break, then do it. If you can't because you're addicted (and this is meant as a general disclaimer), get some help-- gaming addiction is a real thing. You may even find that cutting all ties, including visiting any forums or watching any videos is the only way to go instead of staying attached to something that is doing you harm.
Anyway, my advice is to just take a week off and don't visit these complaint-heavy forums and letting it get into your head, thereby making your hiatus meaningless. Good luck.

Someone at BHVR needs to make a statement now... peoples consoles are getting destroyed because of their game.
They should make a statement ONLY IF it's proven that peoples consoles are getting destroyed because of hacking in their game.

This is easy- if you're going to mainly use that survivor, then P3 her. If you're going to switch around, there's no need to P3 any survivor in 2021, unless you have a lot of them P3'd already.
Killer is a different story but you didn't ask about that.
-
I've been asking it for a long time. I doubt it's coming, which is why I haven't done the past 2 or 3.
They have several community managers-- where are they?
It's a shame they can't keep up with the courteous task of telling us what we voted for and ESPECIALLY what the devs think about that data.
-
It's ok.
7/10.
I like the tome addition and the easy grind for cosmetics. Smashing pumpkins is fun but could have been better, like make a killer/survivor aura appear, make a survivor scream and give them 800 bp for the trouble, give an extra perk effect or even take an existing one away, etc etc. You know, fun #########.
-
And what's up with the 12 upvotes. Hahaha.
-
Her butt in default cosmetics. It's a shame that the store cosmetics they released show her less full. I would for sure have bought those shorts.
Will there never be another Jane? C'mon BHVR.

Do you find the cutscene that plays when you open the game to be of low quality?
I meant I didn't understand the cutscene. She's having a nightmare, she's on stage, then she disappears. Eh... Not enough story for me to follow. I'd rather see her being chased in the realm while fondling some huge glowing bones or some other cool ######### that shows maybe how much of a team player she can be.
-
I don't get it.
-
I am, with real money.
-
If you mean soon, then no, not even with the most recent "scandal". If you mean eventually, then yes, just like most every other multiplayer online game out there. I still give this game a few more years.
-
No. I've gotten my money's worth 10 times over, easy. Granted, best years were 2016-2017, it's still good and I continue to find fun in it. If I didn't, I wouldn't still be here on the forums.
-
I beat the game a long time ago and DBD loses its flavor a month after a new update is released, so I always look forward to something new. I don't care if it's good or bad-- I look forward to anything different.

I hate how challenges now a days = make the challenge long as ######### to do
I'm pretty sure the people voted it that way when BHVR asked about challenges on a survey. One of the options was to make them longer to accomplish with less difficulty. This was during one of the earlier chapters where at least one of the challenges was considered "impossible" by a lot of people on this forum.
-
If you've ever heard Mathieu Cote talk about Killer vs Survivor, you'll know he likes a hostile dynamic between survivor and killer. That's not changing.
Besides that, SWF has kept this game alive, so as much as it sucks sometimes, that's the way it has to be and BHVR knows this. An easier, g-rated mode will never happen.

Same. I had 2 douche bags going in and out of lockers in the basement to grab my attention. I grabbed one and the other jumped out and blinded me by shining the light in my ear.
It's been like that for at least a year and a half. One of the more fun things to do as survivor.
-
So far so good, but still too early to label it as a success when rank reset just happened. I want to see how the trek is back to Iridescent 1 and if I truly have to sweat to get there or if I can play derpy builds and still do it.
-
You don't have to escape to rank up. Get in a few chases, save a few teammates, do a few totems and gens if you can. Safety pipping isn't hard doing this at low ranks, and barely difficult at iridescent. Strive for that and eventually you'll rank up.
-
Glad they changed the voice. Gives me a reason to buy him now.
Someone put up a video. Not bad.
-
Sometimes I immediately leave because I get the same type of killer or map 2-3 games in a row. Other than that I'll leave when I recognize a bad survivor.
-
An overhaul of the Bloodweb/BP system and rewards.. maybe even how dailies are done. I'd also like them to do something about Devotion.
