I think it depends. The only time I play solo these days is when I have crossplay off and I play during a time when I recognize good survivors. Then it turns out to be a decent game. I can still escape in solo with good/bad survivors with crossplay on, but it's more boring these days because I'm forced to play more stealthy, and I like being more aggressive. Getting lucky with good teammates with crossplay on is very hit and miss.
SWF is not an issue except for the times we get a very good killer or we ######### around too much.
-
Not happy about the reduction, although I don't know how it will affect overall progress when capping out characters after a new DLC. In the old system, I can cap out within 2 months. As long as everything can be done quicker, then it's better for me-- and it's looking that way. Time will tell.
-
E. That would be easiest.
Sandbag oblivious Steve out of the realm and make sweet sweet cocoa with all the girlies.
-
Almost every single bug, exploit, and OP crap that was in this game and has since been fixed. 2016-2018 was great.
-
If I get a RPD offering as killer, I don't play nice at all-- even knowing I have bad matchmaking on my side. Usually ends with 4k and very little points for them.

Nobody has answered the question - why can it be done on the first interaction with a survivor? BHVR has made it clear that they don't want it to function that way for ANY other killer. So what if he's weak compared to others? His instant kill is antithetical to the direction they're trying to take the game.
It can be done because he was created early on in DBD when power levels were still being sorted out.. and it was BS back then too even with how strong survivor was. I like the idea behind the addon, but not how you can do it to people that you haven't stalked at all. Maybe add a minimum stalk parameter to it or that you can only use it on a survivor after first hook. That would make the addon kinda crappy but more fair than it is now.
That said, I use it all the time. It's BS, but it's in the game.

The difference is that killers weren't mass rage quitting because survivors were using CoH. Killers were playing out games and noting their frustrations at trying to deal with the perk as well as many stopping playing killer altogether.
Besides the devs literally stated this entire patch was designed to improve kill rate. Getting upset that now killers are now able to kill survivors more reliably means you weren't paying attention to the point of the patch. Sure there are things that might be overtuned now and the devs will have to correct it. But if you want the devs to actually address the issue, giving them valid data (meaning don't just rage quit and actually attempt to play the game out) is the only way devs can truly know if there's a problem.
Maybe you weren't around, but killers did rage quit a lot back in the day. Not for CoH of course but for "a lot of other 'bullshit'." Some still played but a lot more rage quit, left bad reviews, and had a killer strike. There was a killer group on Steam and it was all orchestrated pretty well. 2016? 2017? The game almost died.
In any case. Right now it's the same type of people doing the same thing for "a lot of 'bullshit'." Everyone has their own BS they can't stand, so I take that for what it is. I didn't blame killers back then for what they did and I don't blame survivors now.
-
This is exactly the type of information I come for when I read the forums. I'll be sure to avoid this combo as I queue up right now.

I've seen people admit that they're dying on purpose to inflate kill rates in order to ultimately get killers nerfed, for what that's worth
I won't doubt that people are legitimately trying this, but then you have people like me that say crap like that just for the memes, when really it was for a different reason altogether.
-
I played 4 hours straight tonight as killer and lost twice. The only time I really felt beat was with Huntress and it was against a SWF I normally go against. They all had fast medkits and somewhat normal SWF loadout including a couple DH. Otherwise, there was no real trend in the other lobbies besides maybe Prove Thyself and lots of DCs.

Killer Q times suggest people have left in droves. From ~2 seconds to 3-5+ minutes during primetime. Or if its the same playerbase they all went to killer because of how easy it is now. The fact you had streamers going on 50+ winstreaks BEFORE the huge killer buffs came through should tell you something.
BHVR balanced around baby players and it made the game pretty bad for veterans. Making the killer super OP "because it's like the movies" does not make for a good video game
So you can either go get stomped in solo Q, SWF, or wait 5 minutes for a 5 minute match as killer. Pretty awful patch considering I generally found survivor boring M1 simulator (even worse now)
Why did they have to gut every single meta perk? They should have just gone through with the buffs and some minor changes
I'm not disagreeing with you, but from a business standpoint, if the population of the game stays roughly the same, it might suggest things are ok in BHVR's eyes. I don't think they will make changes based on 1 or 2 weeks worth of ingame data. Kill rates would have to skyrocket and maintain that high percentage over a long period, and only BHVR has those numbers, regardless of what's being posted here.
I think that a plummeting population or HUGE community outcry would be the only thing for BHVR to make changes right away. Otherwise I think they will continue their modus operandi and monitor their numbers, then make their adjustments when they normally do-- 6 weeks later.
I could be wrong. We'll see.

how do you know its 6 weeks? Devs said something recently?
Something needs to be seriously broken for them to adjust anything after a patch. Dying more often doesn't mean much the first couple weeks because people need to adjust to how the game goes. Now, if people left in droves, that might be important enough, but I doubt people will.

I don't know about the front but I have legitimately seen females' behinds like that. Bug or not, it's ok with me!
-
They did Adam dirty here. I think everything under his head sucks and they could have put in a lot more effort to flash it up a little bit. Photoshop him with some sparkly effects or something. Give him a gold and red kimono with "Demon Slayer" in kanji on the back. How about a killer's outfit like Clowns Santa suit with a fat belly and a bunch of books in his bag. A kappa outfit with cucumber presents coming out from underneath the shell.
That hat mask is funny though.

How in the ######### am I suppose to prove that ? Give me a break . It's just a question .
You don't have to prove anything-- I don't expect anyone to take pictures of every match they have, but don't expect me to believe something so unlikely that it's unbelievable... without proof.
-
I think it would be more interesting if the movie was about the DBD forums. They don't even need to hire a lot of actors-- just a few with multiple accounts. Deception, Love, Intrigue, #LGBT+.
6.0+ on imdb mos def.
-
So uncommon that I would call it an exaggeration and would need to see proof.

People wo only main one character or two will get this quite "fast"
I'm sure there will be a race for the first person to do it too. I was talking about it from my standpoint of being a completionist.
-
I would like them to give ranks equivalent to however long it took to get P3-50 all perks because P3-1 is definitely not the same as P3-50 all perks.
That said, P100? That's nuts. I'm a completionist and there's no way I'm going to even attempt it on one character if I can't get it on all. Good luck to people that try.
-
Am I reading that right-- you only have to get tier 3 on one character and it automatically puts those tier 3 perks in all other characters' loadouts, meaning, I don't even have to unlock the tier 3s in the bloodweb?
I mean either way, that's pretty huge.

I was on the forum when before they nerfed Billy. I saw no one complaining about him.
The devs nerfed him on their own
PC players were complaining plenty about him before this forum went live. This is a console-heavy forum though so it doesn't surprise me that sentiments are very different. You had streamers like Zubat talking ######### about instasaw and Hexy complaining that he has too much pressure. Fun times.

You are also kinda assuming you'll get all 4 stacks all the time
Which isn't very realistic
Even if you're the best player in the world a survivor who dc's before you hook them is completely outside of your control and let's be honest it's not really uncommon
The more i think about the numbers the more i think bbq felt more impactfull then it actually is
I don't know about him, but when I equip BBQ, I play for the 4 stack. ######### winning. It just so happens that I do win anyways most games.
Getting 4 stacks 90% of my games is very realistic. If they DC, who cares. Easy quick game, go next.
-
Maybe he's talking about the warping and rubberbanding that happens. I know when I'm playing killer and there's a console player in the lobby with high ping, they disappear or warp sometimes.
-
Well I would definitely click an option to not go against the same type of killer 2+ times in a row.
-
Playing at their absolute best- a survivor team. Casually playing- killers.
Ideally, it would be whoever is better, but this game isn't designed that way.
-
I like the idea of exclusives. Gives the item "worth" -- for whatever that's worth. I understand why BHVR would steer away from exclusives but I think that is a missed opportunity. I'm one of those types that like to have something nobody else has. At the same time, I get a little envious of people that have something that I don't have but want.. and that's ok, because that's just life. What it will do is make me more interested in the cosmetics side of the game where I otherwise don't care too much about anymore, and that's especially true if everyone has access to them.
-
The old system was better for me because once I clawed my way out of gray rank, my teammates were better players. If you could get to green ranks after a couple days, you were golden.
Solo queue was not as big a ######### fest like it is now. This is on PC. As a matter of fact, that's how I got to know a lot of other players because we kept running into each other. I used BPS offerings a lot back then because it was a tighter knit of players which made games (generally) more fun. Also used more moris for the more familiar troublemakers.
If anything, that was the worst thing about ranked matchmaking is that you would face the same survivors and killers over and over and over again. That, and queue times were horrible if you ranked up too fast. Still, I prefer the old system because the race to rank 1 was fun.

The problem with that desire is implementation. There's a small space in the spectrum of skill where that happens and on either side it's generally one way or the other. So it will balance but it doesn't feel like that to most of the players.
I highly doubt it will ever change. The game is going on year 6. They can bandaid fix small balance changes and patch out the outright broken #########, but the core of this game has been broken since 2016 and they can't fix it without doing a complete overhaul. So, they have to look at macro balance because there's no way they can fix the little ######### in between. The only balance in this game happens when they force it in comp games. But good luck convincing BHVR to implement forced rules to a casual base that has no desire or skill to deal with that amount of pressure.

I haven't seen those videos so thanks for pointing them out. If this is really the case, why is it not addressed? I have had a match I have lost in 5 minutes before when not playing a top tier killer from gen rush and out. I even hooked 2 people at the same time and still lost in 5 minutes.
It has been addressed to a degree. BHVR has been pretty transparent in how they want the game balanced, and it's for the 2k/2e AVERAGE, and this includes solos with SWF lobbies.
Your 5 minute matches are not the average. It happens, sure-- that's DBD for you --but it doesn't happen 5 out of 10 games unless you let it happen.
-
Good luck.
-
I leave teammates behind if certain killers are camping and I don't trust my other teammates or I'll leave immediately simply because I don't like a particular killer. Trickster fills both those reasons.
-
I'm more excited about something to grind for more than the DLC, but I am going to buy it for sure. I still like the game and it's new content for cheap.
-
If a killer tunneled or hardcamped from first hook to death or if a killer wasn't able to fully use up his ebony moris. At this point, it should really be in the tutorial. It's PVP 101.
-
If matchmaking worked well then depipping should be a thing because it would an ok indicator of skill. However, matchmaking fails enough to make depipping virtually meaningless.
I do like the idea of a skill rating, but grades aren't it, and they really should label it something else.
And while they're at it, let us see our MMR rating since it's what the devs use themselves to indicate a player's skill... regardless of how flawed it is.
-
It's unlikely but I can see it happening if all the survivors report you every single game. I doubt most survivors care enough to do that though.
-
If I win, I generally don't say GG unless the loser says something first, and I definitely don't respond with ggwp.
-
PVP isn't for everyone. The reason why you do fine playing survivor is because pressure is put on the whole team, as opposed to just you when playing killer. It could be that that role isn't suited for you because you're not used to that type of stress.
How you build that up may seem as simple as saying "just play through it".. but I think it goes beyond that. You need the desire to be very good in a competitive game and I know a lot of people struggle with that, and not only with this game. It's like how FPS games like Quake Champions or CPMA. Those games on release were able to draw in all kinds of players for free for all/casual modes, but when it came to a pure duel, maybe 1/50th of the playerbase had any fun because it was stressful. *This game isn't nearly as demanding and it is asymmetrical, but I think you know what I mean.
---
And as far as SWF is concerned. I feel that the way this game is balanced and how it's targeted to a more casual audience, the BEST SWF teams SHOULD beat the best killer on average. I say that because more people (than now) will get destroyed by a killer that's buffed to handle the best SWF.. and that wouldn't be smart business. They definitely should buff killers and solo queue, but with all the perks and RNG elements, I'm not all that confident in their ability to make it less stressful any time soon, short of forcing a 2k/2e every game.
-
Because it's the game. When I play survivor, I want the games to go as fast as possible because if I'm not farming items or doing challenges I'm banking on my teammates doing that. As killer, I want to kill as fast as possible because that's good pressure. Very rarely do I want to take my time.
I like my games to be around 10 minutes long. There are a few rare games it goes well under that but I find that on average, I'm right about at that mark when I play the way I do.

I read somewhere that green glyphs have spawn conditions, you have to play the game normally before they spawn. It also doesn't help that other players can essentially "steal" green glyphs.
That's pretty lame and should be changed. If not, I'd at least like that survivor to be tainted by a green glow so we know who took that #########.
-
I would love to wear a survivor shirt that says DC on it.
-
I think the best reward to come of this would be a skin. That's not happening, and I'm beginning to think their rationale with cosmetics and elitism/exclusivity will stop them making changes to the hud or endgame screen too. I'd like them to just tell people what it's going to be and let the players decide whether it's worth it or not. For all they know, it might just be currency or something too minor to even bother.
-
Before crossplay, and before people got so jaded. 3+ BPS and fun memey games were common. It's a shame those days are gone.
-
As survivor I bring them if I'm SWF or I know my teammates-- never for randoms. As killer, I bring them whenever I'm grinding or if I know the survivors.
-
They did try it in Alpha but didn't like it. I can't remember the reasons they gave.
I wouldn't mind trying it as a Halloween event, but even then, some things would have to change, like no bloodlust or scratch marks. Some type of Corrupt Intervention basekit. Maybe give an extra health state or even a weapon. Hell, sand would be fine. Even moris could be in first person. Up close with Mike? That would be pretty cool... all while my teammates are throwing sand at me.
-
Usually play crossplay off but on the times I do have it on, of course I'll play... unless they have default cosmetics. That's when I'll assume MM is getting wonky, so I'll call it a night and play something else.
I don't care either way if a new tome is out because gameplay gets borked up anyway.
-
As survivor, I'm fine with the change since it gets me out of the game faster and onto another. The times I wiggle out and get hatch is so rare, it's better this way, overall, for me.
As killer, the only issue I really have is that I might have to play an extra game to finish a tome challenge.
-
I don't care what they do to any survivor perk as long as some loadouts allow for aggressive and fun plays. I want games to be eventful, and if I can achieve MVP status by my own doing and not completely by luck or RNG, I'll be fine.
-
My take is that hopefully this will get people to lighten up about DBD and not take it so damn seriously sometimes.
