It's not a competitive game. It's not a balanced game. It's not a balanced game because 20 seconds of wall hacks makes a game imbalanced and anti-competitive. I've already said this. I do not sweat at this game. If someone thinks 20 secods of wall hacks is balanced, there you find the sweatlord. There you find the one who wants an unfair game. lol

20 seconds of killer instinct in dbd can either be incredibly good or incredibly insignificant, for example, those 20 on nurse or blight can be an actual game ender, but on an m1 like legion, they are a mere hinderance to good survivors.

On the topic of the game not being competitive, a good survivor team will mop the floor with legion any day of the week, 20 seconds or 40 seconds of killer instinc won't matter against a good loop.

I watched this one pretty popular streamer play Legion after their buff. The only two add-ons he ran were Never-Sleep Pills and Mural Sketch. Every match played out the same. He'd get an early Frenzy down and the match would become a 1v3 before three gens were completed. After the first survivor was eliminated, he would still try for a Frenzy down but never get it (you don't need to go for another Frenzy down after one survivor is eliminated and it's basically throwing the match if you try). At that point he would start complaining that the match is becoming too sweaty and he's not going to win. But, the fact is that he would never run Legion optimally, probably to keep viewers engaged. He didn't run stacked slowdown. Optimal Legion is Never-Sleep Pills, Mural Sketch, and stacked slowdown, starting with Thana. Legion is not low-tier with that build. It's 20s of wall hacks, plus 20 seconds added to gens after the update. What more does one need?

Legion is still m1, so in said match even if legion has momentum, any chase against someone decent with DH should be enough for the team to reset, and do a gen or at least 70% if slowdown is at play.

Looping legion is probably one of he easiest things in this game, if they went down to a non-frenzied legion in less than a minute, they are not good at the game.

  • Tbf even if I know a pallet is unsafe im gonna use the tentacle on it, it makes the funny brain chemicals appear.

On the other hand Im of the bunch that refuses to break pallets, unless I know there is no counterplay to them.

And as a slinger since I don't break them, I have two choices, either get good with the harpoon or lose the match.

  • Never used it, hex perks are useless, aside from haunted and pentimento.

  • 1-pig: altho her stealth is not the best, the new trap changes made her consistent, and thats amazing, the traps can put so much pressure on a team and she was my first main killer.

2-wraith: his stealth includes movility which in turn is good, altho his lunge no longer works in loops against good players ,sometimes you will face not so good players it can work in.

3-Ghostface: feast or famine killer, very cool design and 99 downing someone is very fun, but he has to chase as an m1 which is incredibly boring.

4-Myers: incredibly busted addons and a banger chase music, no decent team should be giving him more than a 1k, but tombstone exist.

5-Sadako: LMAO, this killer is meant to be dunked on.

  • Yoichi looks very swag, but his perks are meh at best.

No map, so no new map offering used by swfs, so thats a good thing.

And sadako is just an m1 killer template with an added slowdown that only affects people who are very new or havent played dbd in months, and a stealth mechanic that is only usefull if you play without audio.

She also has a teleport so telegraphed, that the spirit player in the match right next to sadako's match, can hear where she is coming from.

Her perks are mostly good, floods of rage and call of brine are good and serve their purposes however merciless storm is only usefull against tutorial dwight or people who are distracted.

Absolute joke of a killer, cool look for a survivor but lackluster perks on the survivor side, and overall not an interesting chapter at all, surpased in every way by roots of dread.

  • I have no idea how trapper is that high, unless you are not careful and step on a trap, he is still an m1 joke, you can loop him for ages.

  • Spirit is my choice, since she kinda fell off in the main game.

  • So you will do what sc users already do?

  • I don't think so, primarily for the same reason that I kind of dropped her for slinger, I played spirit for a long time and that might be q factor but she just stopped giving the funny chemicals in my brain.

Let me elaborate, hitting a post-phase hit wasn't as flashy as a blight/oni/billy curve or a huntress/slinger snipe, it just felt kinda good, so even if she had an amazing chase theme and amazing model, she just didn't gave me that adrenaline rush, hope im wrong and other players can find her fun for more time.

But for me rin...kinda fell off.

  • @Bwsted said:

It's very very simple. Not necessarily perfect, but I'd call it a 95% solution.

Remove hook grabs and hook interruptions. Once you get the prompt and press the key, you're locked in animation (same like when the killer picks up). You still get damage. So, the killer is still free to get the trade.

But they can't just stand at the hook and camp 2 people by playing the grab game, or force an additional person off gens, or simply get guaranteed kills via facecamp and passive slowdown.

That, and the hook timer per stage needs to be increased given the increase in gen time.

There. You can still camp strategically. It's the mindless standing at the hook that is nerfed.

If you still get dmg but grabs arent possible, there is no risk in a save in the killers face while being healthy, you save against any m1 killer, the unhooked person bodyblocks with bt/otr, what the killer gonna do?, get dunked thats what.

Altho tbf they deserve it for selecting an m1 killer anyways.

  • @Pepsidot said:

I will miss using DH against Nurse or Blight's using crazy good addons because it helped a lot against them and their top addons. But on the other hand although it sounds odd... I'm kind of happy it's being nerfed because I will no longer feel at a huge disadvantage when using another perk in its place. I can't think to myself "if only I had DH". Basically, a new perk slot has unlocked for me now!

One thing I really fear though is the rise of basement trappers now that DH is being nerfed... hopefully it doesn't catch on.

Good thing DH is way better against those killers with the change, but weaker against m1 jokes.

  • @syain said:

You know, even as a hardcore survivor main, I'm willing to agree that the Dead Hard we're saying goodbye to was BS. However, I can't help feeling like most of the killers who would crucify DH users are just gonna be met with disappointment when they find out they can still get looped without it. And in comes the complaints about all the other exhaustion perks, especially with people playing safer now...

Talk for yourself I recently became a slinger main, I can't wait for shots to actually matter and not people denying snipes because of E.

They did promise a reward tho. And it is trash.

Why do you even care about people who care about rewards? jealous bc you didnt complete yours?

I tend to disagree a lot with you but you kinda based today.

All I can get from these is bhvr doesn't have to put effort in anything they do regarding player rewards or something thats not a microtransaction and people will still defend them.

So in the future why even put any effort onto non-paid stuff? Literally this happened on the last blight event, it seemed no one learned from that fiasco.

  • Max I have had was 4 times playing on "The game" in a row, followed by the fifth match the survivors offered eyrie of cringe, It was a horrible night and I came back to the game after like 3 weeks from that fiasco.

if you get a good Sally on the game you are DEAD even if she plays perkless lol, it's my favourite Nurse map by far

Nurse is the only killer that can give a good fight on the game against good survivors, or compound 33, adrenaline blight, but that one is busted af.

  • @Sally_S_gay_son said:

What ? It's super powerful, legit can end chases in an instant.

What is survivor going to do if you have blood favor on the game lol

Go down the first time, totem gets cleansed in 30s and pre-drop for the rest of the match.

Reminder to the customer, this technique doesn't work against nurse.

  • You explain exactly why it is good, current players fed up with the obnoxious grind can trade their addons and offerings and get a huge grind reduction I see nothing wrong with it.

Now if you were an older player or someone who had already p3 almost everything (like me for example) yes the reward that bhvr is giving is meaningless, but a grind reduction was necessary.

  • I will actually argue pig is the only m1 killer that is not a joke, why? Because of her traps, with the new rework traps have become extremely reliable and you can just put so much pressure on someone with a trap that they are an actual hinderance to survivors, unlike condemned which can only affect tutorial dwight.

So no, I think the new trap system is pretty decent, and getting back traps can mess with the attempt pool, so just leave her be.

Btw if anyone wants to know what rework im talking about since I have seen no one actually understand how pigs traps work now ill leave it here:

    IMG_20220702_161945.jpg

  • Id actually think if you were to remove map offerings its either for everyone or no one, and im fine with it, they are bs.

Is it really worth that less that other people get it too?

Sorry maybe a culture thing but it does sound extremely petty to me

I mean, there is literally no point in a trophy that no one knows it exists, like yeah you are the best idk... Dirt castle builder ever and you get a trophy that only you can see, its next to worthless.

because through that addon I kinda want to overheat which again... is even an effort at times then it is worth. Point is stop whining about it like it destroys billy. Some ppl really need to calm down here.

Nah what destroyed billy was new map design and meme addons overcharge is just an added mechanic to annoy you.

  • @BenZ0 said:

I didnt play BIlly in a long ass time but I never really had problems with the overheat. It just seems to me ppl here are overreacting. I curve also alot, I am not a god curve billy but I do know my standart stuff and I do use the chainsaw alot in a game and NEVER have any issues with the overheat. I dont even notice is at times cuz its that much of an difference. Not even using any addons, I just stick with spiked boots and piggy house gloves cuz its fun.

If overheat is barely noticeable why on earth are you using piggy house gloves, an addon that exclusively works while overheated?

  • @BadZilla said:

So for how long the 200% regression speed lasts ?

At 12 seconds its somewhat a 100% regression which means that its utterly pointless to equip as the few time it will have 200% its so minimal you might as well ignore it, and the skillcheck, does anyone with more than 40 hours fail the overcharge skillcheck?

Just equip call of brine, its more reliable and doesn't depend on people being bad at the game, that being said the regression on ptb seemed to be too much so I guess its fine, altho balanced, overcharge went back to being garbage.

  • This is incorrect, gen regression gets halted once its blocked.

No wonder no one was pointing out how repressed alliance makes the overcharge+ call of brine combo useless, people do not know how the gen blocking works.

Btw I dont wanna come out as a prick, if it sounded like it.

Michael is hardcore. He does not care, he has no mercy, his soul is black, and he cannot be mocked without repercussions.

I have been playing him since the beginning and I rarely have a game where I did not have fun. It is especially pleasing to see the jumpscares from the survivor side when you play a streamer. He is one of the rare killers that each side can have a blast with.

This is untrue as I have mocked and dunked on many myers a lot of times, and the only repercusion I got was 5000 escape points.

  • I will still get trashtalked and BMd even if I let them escape, so whats the point? If I get kills and go up in my mmr I don't expect survivors to show mercy, they are trying to win and so do I, I will play to win and their fun isn't a relevant aspect to me as my fun isn't important to them as well.

Funnily enough camping and tunneling are weird occurences since they can lead you to throw the game and thats a big no no.

  • They can just be bad at the game? Some killers just are not good and do not get kills, with time theyll probably get better but its just the reality of a videogame, not everyone is competent enough.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3055492#Comment_3055492

Billy is not easy to play as.

It's really easy to see the difference between someone who is good as Billy and someone isn't in loops.

While this is true, when you know your tiles its imposible for billy to chainsaw you, so even a high skill billy won't get any value against decent players.

  • I try to be as punctual as I can on sadako threads to make fun of her and how she is a joke, but idk man it reallly seems like a cool idea, nothing busted like the suggestion of going through walls and nothing that requires a new mechanic introduced, just something she already has.

Imo its a cool change, but you know bhvr doesn't take feedback and they just change how they see fit, thats why we have the hillbilly fiasco and slinger getting his gun turned into the cringe launcher.

  • If you go by the fact that she can only m1 yes, but hag can play chases differently, she isn't a puching bag like say ghostface, myers and even sadako who depend on survivors making mistakes or horrible pallet RNG to get downs.

The definition of m1 is used differently by some people and even tho yes its more intuitive to consider m1 killers the ones that can only m1, then nurse is an m1 killer as she can only hit you with m1, I consider m1 killers killers that have no absolute way to get hits aside from just traditionally chasing.

  • @Beatricks said:

Pro Billies would be too oppressive against anything but that sweatiest no weak link 4mens. Like Nurses and Blights.

No true, a good survivor can loop billy for ages if he keeps going for chainsaws. It doesn't need a 4 man stack, dunking on billy is not really hard with new map design.

  • @Lecruidant said:

So we're just back to actively advocating for camping and tunneling while survivors just get thrown into the cess pools if you play solo. Yay.

Information I genuinely didn't know. Leave it to BHVR to release a new and "better" system that has no bearings on what you actually did in the match, just whether you straight up get kills or escape.

I mean as survivor, yes it should be more flexible because solo q exists and whatnot so basing it on escapes is dumb, but as killer you need kills, a killer that cannot kill is worthless, tutorial trapper can do their job at that point.

It's certainly not a surprise to learn that someone who's so quick to discount one killer will also discard a number of others completely out of hand.

I don't count Demo. It is very good, though.

I wouldn't say I discard them quick, in fact I have mained a lot of them in the past, being pig one of my favourite killers to this day, but once I started playing more survivor I realized how easy they are to dunk on, most of them can't do anything in a chase so you have full control over the chase and the ones that do something its very lackluster.

They lack movility and can be easily spotted in non-indoor maps, most don't have any way of slowdown, aside from pig who with her new buff has consistent slowdown btw. And sadako who has a mechanic that will only be a bother for people who are playing something else on a second tab.

The fact that I consider stealth killers bad doesn't mean there are not worse killers but I won't be saying something so easy to counter is gonna be good.

  • If more than one survivor is burning you they are not doing gens which is good, and if more than one survivor brought flashlights instead of toolboxes or god forbid med kits, you are having an easier match, even tho wraith is m1 and can be looped for days flashlights are not that big of an issue for him.

  • Ok first advice is to stop falling for her faking her power, when spirit phases you will hear the vacuum cleaner so if you do not hear it she is not phasing, so if you have a friend that can do a kyf and you can identify the sound it will help you recognize it.

Secondly you need to know how to dunk on her, this is hard at the begining but very easy once you get the hang of it, so as I said before spirit has an audio cue when she phases, this audio cue is also directional and will help you pinpoint where she is with very good accuracy, so if you verse her in maps with high grasa try to match where you hear her and where the grass moves,(this is easier in kyf) and you will learn to know where she is just by sound, after that you can just camp pallets or go so safe parts of the loop depending on where you hear her.

Also remember spirit even while phasing has collision with objects so if she is going directly for you you can pre-throw a pallet at a long loop and her power won't last her enough to travel the entire loop.

Lastly saddly due to horrible design MDR + cherry blossom exists, so if the spirit has that the game will be very boring and its pretty unfair.

If you read this manifesto then at least you can try and practice this and dunk on spirit players.

This is the reason people think Sadako is bad. If you manifest on top of them it doesn't matter which direction it's coming from.

Yes this is absolutely true, hence why I remarked this cue is only important in mindgames as it affects mostly this aspect.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3054093#Comment_3054093

I'm not against her cues being softened if/when she gets some balance changes, but that they exist at all is not a problem. Stealth killers clearly need some kind of tell.

I did not say that stealth killers are a joke, nor would I. They aren't top tier, but none of them are bottom tier either.

Ok, I on the other hand will proudly say that they are a joke against people with more than 30 hours, except demo, if you count him as stealth, dude is sick af.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3054004#Comment_3054004

All basekit stealth has some kind of tell or other limitation. Ghostface can be broken out of his, Myers moves slowly and can't lunge, Wraith has audio + visual cues and has to slow down dramatically while uncloaking... Sadako's stealth is not that much worse than those.

I do think the projection cue should be non-directional though, if that's what you're referring to.

She has two cues, the projection one and one when she manifests, both of them are directional and pretty loud, the second cue is the reason why demanifestation and manifestation mindgames do not work against good players, since you can pinpoint where she is manifesting.

And yes you are correct, most stealth killers are a joke, but that doesn't exclude sadako for being one too.

  • @PaintedDeath said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3053990#Comment_3053990

Naw it was a genuine Condemn mori. The guy was the first I found in the match, ran me for 2 gens, then his buddies got cocky and started body blocking and trying to take chase, then I noticed TVs shutting off, waited a bit, projected to one and just as I was coming out, it was the first guy I chased and he starts throbbing with Killer Instinct, still injured. Dropped his ass and mori'd him.

So exactly not a good player? You have to put effort in to get condemned or be as smart as moss for it to happen.

They body blocked when the correct play was to keep rushing and he could even get the condemned removed while in chase, they had every tool to absolutely dunk on you yet they didn't used them, not good players in the slightest.

  • @jesterkind said:

The Pig treatment...? A handful of sensible nerfs and then nothing for years? I don't think there even are any sensible nerfs you could give Sadako.

Regardless, she's not the worst killer but she's also not as good as she could or should be. There's definitely room for improvement- I'd like to see her TV cooldowns looked at if nothing else, especially now that Dredge has been released and just has a better teleport mechanic all around.

Her stealth literally tells you she is aproaching and if the manifestation sound was any more loud and telegraphed it could literally tell you where she is in any part of the map, laughable stealth for people with audio enabled.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3053781#Comment_3053781

Yeah you have to be careful with buffing hillbilly. He has an instadown, second best mobility and can curve tiles to get downs. Giving him too much extra might make him OP

Any decent looper won't get curved under any situation, unless they are distracted, listening to music and also in another tab.

  • What are you complaining about, mcmillan is probably the map with less bs for both sides (aside from shelter woods an its 4 pallets), complain if they send you to racoon city piss departement, eyrie of cringe, the game and the newly introduced garden of pain, those maps are bs, mcmillan doesn't come even close to it, I get happy when I get to go in mcmillan, at least the tile design is not garbage.

  • @PaintedDeath said:

I can't honestly tell you to not pick PinHead over Sadako because he's really good and has good perks, but Sadako is one of my favorite killers to use. As the dude said above, most people just don't understand how to use her right. She literally doesn't chase, that's her power. You show up out of no where with elegant use of the phasing, land a hit and then immediately demanifest and fall back. The survivors will run and you stalk them until they feel comfortable enough to stop. Then you just repeat step one until they are all dead. The Condemned mechanic isn't the best but I also don't think it SHOULD come into play much, as it allows you to instantly kill without even hooking, it's supposed to be a slow down that makes people get off of gens. I've had quite a few Condemned Moris, and below I'll post a screen shot of a Condemned mori I got on a dude without hooking him once.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6YJRPJ4VAJMM/sadako.jpg

This people have to really bad to get killed by a sadako while having dh and a bnp at play, actually throwing or prob players with less than 20 hours, but doubt that option since they got many teachables.

  • Idk what to tell you man, hate to say it but you have to get good, as advice id suggest two things, first play m1 killers without addons nor relying on perks, yes you will get destroyed but you will build muscle memory for lunges and learn some map tiles, as well as understanding the pace of the game when no slowdown is in play.

After that when you can at the very least get 2ks consistently, pick a good killer, not an m1, preferably a good one, and start learning all their ins and outs, once you get good with that killer you will be able to win most matches, altho if the killer you main isn't blight/nurse/spirit take in mind a decent swf will still mop the floor with you.

Which survivor perks alert the killer? Other than the global boon sound, or the broken status on no mother?

Boil over, DS, Power struggle, that haddie perk that gives you blindness, mind you all of this aside from boil over are useless alerts since they happen after the perk has come into play, unlike 90% of killer perks that alert survivors .

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3051708#Comment_3051708

They won't remove the mori. The devs spoke about wanting to make mori's something the killer unlocks during the match instead of bringing offerings, and I believe Condemnation is the first iteration of that (not counting PH). The REALLY cool thing about Condemnation and how powerful it is, is you can literally mori a survivor the first time you down them if they haven't been able to manage the Condemnation. I've gotten a few moris out of it, if you can manage to stop a survivor from turning in a tape AND apply a stack of Condemn on them, they can potentionally become moriable as soon as you arrive. I think maybe allowing the killer to see the levels of condemn could potentially allow the killer to change their objective, knowing that a survivor is close to getting mori-able.

Problem with this is you have to be as aware as mold to get condemed, as you can even remove it while in chase.

1 … 24 25 26 27 28 … 33
