Yeah, I was running into tiny shrubs yesterday with Bubba. This is why I hate being outside! 😡

Touching bush I see? When go outside to touch plant I am more of a lily pad enjoyer but no gatekeeping.

  • As much as yes this map is horribly design, holy sht is it a good map for slinger, im not even kidding, this map has witnessed people getting sniped so hard they instantly get deleted for existance, I avtually get happy when I see it because even tho is horrible for almost every killer, it manages to be so good for using the redeemer.

  • @ICrowzI said:

Why though? It was a great perk for survivors and killers had to actually be good to get around it..

You could be the best killer player on the planet, there was nothing you could do against a dh for distance.

  • Pinhead, plaything is my favourite perk after shadowborn, and I think his design gameplaywise is amazing adaptation to the hellraiser movies, but supporting NFTs is something I did unknowingly and I would take it back even if it mean waiting for plaything at the shrine.

I mean, they do it even if you blatantly let them live. It is just part of the culture. People are reading way too much into it.

Why should I let a survivor live? No survivor has ever showed me mercy and Im not foolish enough to be one giving away free escapes, either they dunk on me or I dunk on them.

  • They won, they wanna show you they beated you, and if they didn't cheat they are on their right to show off they bested you, now how do you avoid this from happening?

You practice, start learning and if you get good, there is no way anyone can bm at the gates if everyone is dead before the last gen pops.

Dredge is a decent killer and pretty well made, but he just lacks fun factor. It's not like blight where its super exciting as you zoom around the map outplaying survivors, moving fast, getting hits.

You put the remnant down and slowly walk at the survivor and then teleport to it and m1 them or just m1 them if they dont walk into it. It's not particularly exciting, the only thing really exciting is trying to make plays with locker teleporting but thats not really the reliable part of his kit. Moreover, he's not the easiest to use, unlike killers like legion and Bubba who are kind of brain dead easy even if not the most effective.

At least with a killer like artist you get a similar mechanic when it comes to what it does to force survivors off loops but at least it doesnt slow you down anywhere near as much and there is a skillful/exciting aspect at aiming crows and predicting survivor movements and shes a much stronger killer.

Those things just kind of add up to a killer that no one really wants to main. People who would like his anti loop probably prefer artist. People who like his mobility most likely prefer demo.

Hard disagree, yes blight gives you an instant adrenaline rush, but dredge in nightfall is one of the most enjoyable experiences ingame imo, you are really fast and lurk in complete darkness.

Regarding the remnant if you just place the remnant down and walk to circle the loop, no wonder you find ir boring, I tend to use the remnant much like a spirit short burst, to confuse the survivor and get a hit, very fun.

Isn't Spirit, and Freddy, and Victor, and Sadako, and Oni?

I'm joking. Yes, he probably is :(

Should have made examples with the survivors that died or were about to die when the entity took them, being tapp, bill, adam and yun jin.

Also pig is technically dead, she was killed by a trap and the entity took her, making the saw chapter curios since both characters are technically dead.

Looping the killer is the most fun part of playing survivor and nurse removes that by forcing you to brainlessly hold W. I can see why my teammates don’t want to play against her it’s just really boring. There’s no counterplay, you just hope that she messed up her blink.

Now that deadhard and DS are dead it’s time to rebalance nurse and blight next

I agree, its very boring to depend on the other side to make mistakes in order to have a chance at winning.

  • Is it boring? Absolutely yes, is it non original? Yes absolutely, but what else can legion do? They are a meme killer, they have no real power if the survivors are at the very least decent, and as much as I am for teaching people to not pick m1 jokes, it seems its the only thing that can make legion a threat, with that being said If the devs make it so that legion is way worse, im all for it.

People should learn to play good killers, if people drop the joke thats legion and play something good, imo its a good change.

Your so-called "easy counter" translates into the 3 other survivors surrendering 10-15 game seconds, i.e. 30-45 effective generator-repair seconds - on every down. I would highly recommend thinking before speaking next time.

How? You have at max just let go for 5 seconds, since you can see the aura when someone is getting hooked, if you are letting go after they go down and until the unhook is complete, you are lacking a lot of desicion making.

  • Ok first of all, we all know that those blocked gens are not affected by ruin, making that combo counter productive?

With that out of the way, if after someone gets hooked, you go down in 30 seconds or a likewise time for DMS to activate so repeatedly, thats kind of on you, unless you are playing against nurse.

Finally, how on earth are those people getting boddied by a clown, this killer is literally made to be dunked on, how have they gotten down 3 times before popping a single gen, that first chase on coldwind should have been enough to do 2 gens at the very least.

  • I aprecciate all these slinger threads on how to make him better, but you have to remember bhvr wont put too much effot into new mechanics that they cant just recode.

Imo a good change is making it so the furthest he shots trough, the more charges the chain gets, this way snipes actually will more often than not lead to injuries/downs and not just a broken chain.

And of course reduce his tr to 24 meters again.

  • I use shadowborn on every killer, aside from my main, in which I use monitor and abuse, since slinger new awfull tr change makes it necesary and I cannot play with default FOV.

  • How hard is it to look for the aura of a survivor being hooked, like is it really complex?

The killer can see which generator got blocked from a Pain Res interruption

Thats why you let go when you see the carried survivor's aura about to get hooked.

  • Can't prople still just let go of the gen to deny DMS? and since there is no notification, the killer won't 100% go to the gen? I fail to ser how its stronger now when it has even more counterplay.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really get irked at the "teabag at the gate thing". Just like getting slashed on the hook. I've had friends that get so worked up about that and I always just chuckle a bit. Who cares?

Probably the only bullying that really pisses me off is the hide and seek thing, especially before EGC when they could legit just leave. Or when I was a terrible nurse and the players were way better than me and just wouldn't leave. That I count as bullying.

But just some teabags at a pallet or at a gate, nah. That's nothing I get worked up about.

End game salt messages are usually pretty funny, though again if you tell me to kill myself, use the n word, or gay slurs I'm gonna report to PSN even though tbh that stuff really doesn't get me that worked up, but it's just too scummy for me to let slide.

Messages like you are terrible, gg ez, you tunneled, camped, blah blah blah. Those are just usually amusing to me. I suppose you could count that as bullying, but again, you can shut the messages off so if that really bothers you (general you, not specific you) then block the messages.

If you're ever playing a game that is causing you a ton of stress, take a break or quit altogether. Games are supposed to be a good time.

Nah, "you are bad", ggez and all of the like are not what I consider bullying, the ######### and so on where the ones that before got me riled up, but now they are actually funny, knowing you manage to beat someone so baddly they get so mad its hilarious, thats why nowadays I actually love post-game chat salt.

  • Survivors have never respected me, so I guess its just another day of playing dbd as usual?

  • So sprintburst actually requires a little bit of thinking when using it? Also its a big no no that SB needs totems or gens to be recharged, as those are limited resources, specially totems also why nerf it, its fine.

On another point, why is it bad that a very good perk needs knowledge and good desicion making to work effectively?

  • @malloymk said:

If that happened constantly, you would have quit playing a long time ago or you actually relished that sort of thing.

No one with more than thirty brain cells or an ounce of self respect would fire up a video game where they were constantly getting bullied and told to kill themselves.

Yes, it happens sometimes and should never happen, but please cool it with the hyperbole and woah is me attitude.

Not really, I got bullied a lot when I started playing dbd, around late 2016- early 2017, and its the reason I kept playing and got good at the game, If I completely destroy them, they cannot bm at the exit gate, and If they sent messages I can just relish in them losing so bad thry cannot get over it.

You can a 100% keep playing a game after having these experiences repeatedly happen to you, depends on how you handle them.

  • I like that dead hard went from press E to win to an actual skillfull perk, when I get deadharded now I can recognize that the survivor is pretty cracked.

I'm convinced most of the killers still using BBQ have failed to update their loadout (like most the survivors I see running DH, IW, and DS.) It's good on teleporting killers and it's good paired with perks like MYC or Devour, but apart from that, there's better choices you could be using.

I'm seeing much less of it in my survivor games. It's also incredibly easy to avoid compared to other aura perks. I don't see the issue... and personally, I think you should be much more afraid of Floods of Rage or Darkness Revealed.

Tbf as much as I have learned tracking and so on, I just wanna try and go for a new chase right after I hook someone, and even tho yes gen distribution and seing crows its reliable, sometimes you just do as the aura says, bbq is perfect for that.

Yeah, but you also have to consider that Tome-Challenges for Survivors are basically almost always "Do something else than Gens", while Killer Challenges are for the most part "Play the game".

Considering that we know still have a Slowdown-Meta and Killer got a massive Buff, Challenges which force you to use a weak Perk only should not be the case anymore.

As much as I disagree that new dead hard is bad, I do think its very annoying for time challenges to force a build on to you as suivir, since survivors don't have powers and the only fun thing is what build you are running, essentially forcing you to play in a tedious way just to get a challenge done, that needs to be changed.

  • Lmao, good, dunk on more sadakos, teach them to switch to an actual killer.

You need to get 5 tokens before Devour cleansed. Once you get 5 tokens, you are keeping them even totems cleansed.

Has anyone tried to do the same with lullaby, because I think maybe the bug is undying keeping tokens when the totem is out, if it works with lullaby then the devs should only killswitch undying.

  • What the frick (yes I cannot belive the forum censored those 3 letrers), that needs to be killswitched asap, how can that even happen?

DH was fair and needed against the strongest killers in the game, or against anti-loop killers, but was BS for M1 or weak killers.

But surprise surprise, no one is playing the M1 killers, everyone sticks to Nurse/Blight even when DH is gone, which was the main gatekeeper perk of weak killers

Good, since new dh is more effective against nurse/blight/spirit than old dh.

  • Completely normal, in fact thanks to this, old deadhard had the very enraging effect of making it look like survivors literally took the spear off themselves when this interaction happened, just intead of a vault a dh.

  • I have had people dc, while im playing addonless, slowdownless deathslinger, im literally handing people free 4 man escapes, but if someone gets sniped, they will 100% DC/kill themselves on hook, even if they are winning, some people have escaped but it seems in this update the before present sentiment of "if the match doesn't go as I want to, im out of here" has become more prevalent, hell If it were up to me ill rollback all the update aside from DH and I swear the same actitude will be present.

Which is wild. Considering 50/50 is a balanced experience

On a 2k the killer got dunked on hard, they failed to protect the gens, they failed to protect the gates and they failed to avoid them from escaping, the killer played horrible and the results show.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/336830/i-dont-get-the-thana-hype

Thats not all that happened. We break pallets faster now, we actually do some damage with kicks, we lose less distance after a hit, we barely lose no distance with 8 stacks of stbfl, we dont have to deal with dh (holy ######### thank valve), we dont have to deal with literally 0 sound when some one is injured (holy ######### thank valve) and we dont really have to deal with ds either. Its a vastly different game.

I condone this post, like it or not these changes have been incredibly huge, specially favoring killers, and altho I personally think thana isn't even that good now and is just a case of mass hysteria, killer perks have to be watched closely to avoid the killer meta becoming way too annoying or just play unfair to soloq, in fact I fully believe sbfl on demo or other killers that can save stacks is way more powerful than thana on plague/legion, and my leagues more powerful.

Prior to the update, killer mains went on about how the devs said "kill rates are too low". The devs propose an update with a bunch of killer buffs to increase kill rates. Kill rates increase; that's what happens when Pinhead has the box and four slowdowns against four solos. Killer mains then accuse survivors of throwing to explain the skyrocketing kill rates. I think killers have buyer's remorse because they asked for too much and got all of it and more, making trials too easy.

As far as kill rates, there are nice killers who still let survivors go, those learning Nurse and failing, Deathslingers on Switch, etc.

I have had games when I downed someone or even harpooned them and they instantly dc or kill themselves on hook, mind you im playing addonless deathslinger and my build consists of: BBQ, plaything, hysteria and m&a.

So no slowdown is at play, or few if you consider plaything slowdown, im playing a bad killer, addonless, and people still give up consistently before even the second down happens, I am pretty sure people are just throwing because they want.

  • @Ghostofsnow said:

Billy, though i also play him. hes a scary killer when good but also has a huge risk/reward to his power as opposed to a lot of other stuff. plus the high speed and one shot means hes always a threat to a player

Depends, on mid mmr yes, but any good survivor player worth their salt will loop a billy for as long as that billy commits to the chase, as even countering curving is pretty easy.

  • Now watch me whip, whip now watch me nae nae.

  • @Aneurysm said:

There's nothing this community loves more than shooting itself in the foot.

Changes introduced to make stacking slowdowns unnecessary -> killers continue to run that anyway -> changes get reverted and/or perks get nerfed and rage ensues.

It would be the same in reverse, if 10 seconds were removed from gens instead it would be a carnival of toolboxes and prove thyself. We're just very self-defeating in general.

I mean, in a game where you divide two sides of the playerbase like dbd its imposible to avoid the US vs them mentality, for example in symetrical games, even hero shooters, you might hate dps or support heroes but your team needs them and everyone has that on their team.

In DBD you can play only survivor or killer, each role with its own frustrations, when you play a single role you will think of the other one as an enemy, and that is just a given for an asymetrical game.

So when people play survivor they do not care about the killer's fun, they are the enemy and deserve to lose, and when people play killer they do not care about the survivors fun, they are the enemy and deserve to lose.

The weird part is, I personally have no problem with this behaviour, as its really normal for people to be this way.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3083116#Comment_3083116

Not exactly. You can't say something is a guarantee when there is still a chance at failure, it doesn't work that way.

Isn't by that logic correct to say that on endgame camping is not a guaranteed kill as the killer has the possibility to hit a wall or hit the hooked survivor and they could escape?

Also addind to it, idk if I have the reflexes of a fish (they kinda fast tho) because I have never failed the DS skillcheck, its not even something to worry about, you know you will just use it, you don't even think about it.

  • I do a lot, since billy is very easy to loop specially if they keep going for saws, you can force him to be and m1 killer, which is the weakest thing in the game, so I do enjoy long chases where I have control over what happens in them.

And as someone who played billy too, you won't be a m1lly, you need to get that saw, so while the billy tries to do something fancy you can loop them for at least 2 gens.

  • Idk chief, that update did kill deathslinger, altho for example im very positive about the spirit changes and the new music, also a fan of the perk changes, bhvr gutted slinger.

  • I would like to see them shift it to 4 to see if there is a happy medium, but if they revert it to 5 I really don't see an issue with it, I think they nerf it not because of DS itself but the fear they had of DS+OTR which is why I think maybe 4 seconds should be tried first before the full 5.

  • @Thunderfrog said:

Behavior will adjust its ... behavior. If I'm cautious and play proper hide and seek, things are fine except against the usual busted killers. When I try to showboat and be obnoxious, I get hammered.

I get it, it was fun to bully killers. It was fun to do outlandish dumb things. Now you kinda have to respect them for a change.

Not really, a player thats bad at the game should lose, if you relied too much on dh and can't loop without it you deserve to lose, same as someone being carried by stacking full slowdown, zero skill on both parts and those players should not be handed free Ws.

Overcome works with otr? If so thats cracked since overcome looses its use after you get unhooked so that can be a good combo.

  • @AnneBonny said:

it is weird they just,, don't change the power appearance for any cosmetics. only excuse for that is laziness lmao

As much as I love trashtalking bhvr, some other games also do not change certain aspects when you equip a skin, mainly overwatch not changing the particles of abilities with skins, this can be lazy, or a design choice.

Let me elaborate, I am someone who has played an unhealthy amount of a game called paladins, and as buggy and unbalanced as it is the devs put a lot of effort in skin design (also bcz its free to play so they want that sweet microtransaction bread).

But the point is: most skins in that game fully change the particles, sound effects and even the look of you abilities, to the point where if you are new or just took a break, seeing a giant smiling christmas snowball with different particles and sound compared to the default ability will really confuse you and you cannot play around it for some time, which affects gameplay for some people.

  • I like this discussions about pinkie finger and iri hatchets, because iri coin is busted af, but no one ever talks about it so it is free to wreck havoc, unlike those two addons that are brought up constantly.

  • @Sadako_Best_Girl said:

"Buffed" Freddy was always bad. People just took some time to notice it because at the time there really weren't many killers that could transport instantly, had some admitedly some busted slowdown add-ons and he countered BT. Now 3 years after the rework and a nerf most are left wondering if they should have really reworked him. His power is just unbearably boring.

Deathslinger didn't really change besides from terror radius nerf which forces you to run stealth perks, he was just made clunkier. Survivors still have next to zero reaction time on short loops and you can start aiming from behind a wall in order to not get noticed.

And Billy... What the hell where they thinking? The only possible explanation I can find to his nerf is that they didn't want such a powerful killer being free, but then again, nurse is also free and she is absolutely bonkers, not to mention they gave her 3 blinks and omegablink back when billy only has 2 mediocre revving add-ons and another one that is borderline unusable.

Not true at all with slinger, a good player will do the same you do against curving billies, not hug the loop when the killer is about to cut a corner, paired with the horrible sensibility in ADS, slinger will miss or you cancel his shot and you can cut the corner safely, not really hard.

The terror radious is a big hit yeah, but the time it takes to pull up the redeemer also affects the reaction time of a survivor, making it impossible to get sniped if you are looking behind you.

  • @GannTM said:

Can someone show me what this is referring to? Apparently this was from her original PTB according to some comments but I wasn’t around at the time.
