They literally listened to feedback and are making changes to make the overheat less punishing. OP should probably find another game to play if he thinks these changes are unreasonable.

Or is this where they really wanted billy to be and released a purposely over nerfed version to make it look like they are listening and hopefully quell the rage.

other games do this all the time with in game loot shops and loot boxes. Release a skin way over priced and then "listen" to their community and list it at the actual price they wanted.

Jeez, sometimes Devs just can't win.

We had days and days of, "THEY'LL NEVER CHANGE ANYTHING ON THE PTB BECAUSE THEY DON'T LISTEN!"

Then they actually listen and change something.

Now we'll have days of, "OK BUT YOU DIDN'T CHANGE IT SPECIFICALLY IN THE WAY I WANTED!!!"

By change i think people meant scrap the idea all together and come up with something else that isn't bad.

  • You can always just open the door and leave, or is this too difficult to understand?

The only people that cry about noed are cheat with "friends" discord abusers because you can't end game bully the killer and decisive strike your way out the door.

You can curve and even mindgames are possible. The guy who plays billy in the video is obviously like everyone else not used to the new mechanic, but he already gets some nice curves and some good chainsaw hits.

You should NEVER trust what you see on the ptb compared to live.

Nobody has anything to lose and the survivors are generally bad. That vid is an example since nobody was looking behind them at the killer and just blindly running.

  • These type of survivors line the dev's pockets with cash from cosmetics. Don't expect anything to change, they will actually get way worse.

  • Because she is a threat.

That is literally it. Can't make a LOL baby killer! loop montage against something that can actually do something about it.

  • i like how survivors complain about the dc penalty and think they should be able to leave when the killer does anything they don't like.

It would be a different story if killers were as weak as survivors and left at the smell of a 4 man swf and constantly quit game after game after game.

  • Long story short, he can do allot of the same thing, only now he is artificially limited.

    JUST LIKE NURSE

Why are you blaming survivors for this change?

I have not seen a single post regarding Billy being “OP”. I don’t know where you are getting your sources from.

It’s really absurd that you make another thread even tho you could have kept responding to the one you already had on this topic just to threaten survivors with a mori? Literally nobody cares that you want to bring a mori every match. Guess what? It already happens anyway.

    Sweaty killers will be sweaty.

You don't look very thoroughly do you?

  • It is the survivors you get.

The game takes ping into account and attempts to match you with people near you, so you just happen to live near casual surv players.

myself on the other hand live where there is a small player base and i would say 80% are non casual swf.

........... but why though? And why only survivors?

Survivors have to do a large share of their objective, or have the niche situation of the killer having closed the hatch first.

This comment is also extremely off-topic, and part of the Us vs Them debate that this thread is not a part of. Keys are also linked to specific challenges. Drain 3 Keys is very different to Kill 4 Survivors by any means.

There is also the issue of the Broken Key and the effects of add-ons being used while not being able to open the hatch.

Oh so... get rid of the killers "free win" but keep the survivors free win.. i see.

  • Only if keys forfeit rank for every survivor in the lobby (even if they don't have a key)

You do realise the fixed a bug that sucked you back to the window? So Ofcourse your gonna go further when you vault now since you keep you keep your momentum and dont get sucked back

a "bug" that has been in the game since its creation.. yeah totally a "bug"

But they didn't "buff" vaults? They fixed a bug that sucked you back to the window when you vaulted

I wish i could see what people like you could see....

When i did a vault pre vault BUFF it just looked like i jumped through the window and landed on the other side. Now when i jump through a window it flings me forward 3 steps so there is a gap and the window becomes a safe zone.

Uninstall the game and reinstall it.

Uninstall the gpu drivers and reinstall.

    The same problem.

Curiously it only happens to me with the nurse, I spent about 3 hours playing with other killers/survivors and only frozed with the nurse.

    What cpu?

    Did you overclock the cpu?

    Did you overclock your ram?

Did you use DDU uninstaller to remove old gfx card drivers or just click the "fresh install" box that literally does nothing?

    Have you updated your bios?

This game tends to show unstable overclocks in gpu's and cpu's that will happily play everything else.

I have run this game on a 1st gen i5 750 with a gtx 760... the problem is your rig.

  • Doesn't killer have more momentum than a survivor when jumping off a building?

When i play survivor i practically drop straight down while the killer flies in an arc and hits the magical invisible barrier the devs added to nerf billy and demogorgon.

  • Yes devs, please leave nurse as is! she is so strong that seeing here 1 in 1000 games is perfectly fine and normal.

    No changes needed at all.

Did i fit in with the survivors?

No ED is way too strong for fixing a Killer's mistakes, it's like an insurance policy for people that expect to fail.

The only reason I don't complain about it more is because in Red Ranks its taboo to use it and its most Killers goal to play the game normally. If everyone in high ranks used that perk, I'd probably stop playing Survivor.

How do you get hit by noed if you are not the one being chased? All you need to do is open the door and leave.

  • @Deadman316 said:

Yeah uh, there's this perk called Overcharge, you all should try that if you have a problem with that, you know, before coming here and whining about it. Just a suggestion.

Yeah uh, there is this perk called calm spirit, survivors should try it before bitching about crows.

Oh wait, you just complained on the steam forums and the devs bowed and kissed your feet and made ignoring crows baseline.

you see killers complain about things more because things rarely get changed, while on the survivor side they complain once and it is changed by the next patch.

LOL @ "abuse". Yeah, using the palettes and windows on a map - the only resources you have available for extending a chase against someone faster than you - is such nasty Killer abuse. They're truly the victims. 😂 Man, people's choice of words in this forum crack me up.

I guess true infinites were the killers fault for being bad and the "god windows" that the devs just altered were perfectly fine right?

  • to stop the survivor going aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

    Especially Kate.

  • My guess is that survivors did not have a reason to hold m1 as much as they do now, because they had more things available to them to abuse.

The more abusable things the devs take away from the survivors, the harder they will hold m1 until they punch it through their mouse and through their desk.

  • Devs wanted to delete her without refunding cosmetics. They practically succeeded.

I doubt they will ever update her and they are probably going to leave her till last for the rift.

I believe this is called pressuring gens. The thing everyone bitches for killers to do more. Best way to keep it at five gens is forcing more people off gens to save. Considering how many gens can pop simultaneously being a 5 gens can turn in to two in an instant relying on the number in the corner to feel safe as a killer is pretty dumb.

Chase survivor - leave survivor- "pressure gen" previous survivor hops on gen straight away- "gen pressure" instantly lost- time wasted walking- find survivor- chase survivor- leave survivor- survivor hops on gen- "gen pressure" instantly lost- gates open.

We are talking about survivors that don't self care in a corner right?

If you would like to learn what to do i play every night at 8pm est you can come watch. If i down someone off hook its to punish the jerk who thinks they can pull right in front of me. i leave em on the ground he gets up in 60 seconds so be it he doesn't unfortunately i'm going to hook them again. But ds is never detrimental to my killing is all. I don't see all the RAGE about it. Of course i've had games where it hit me endgame and i lost the one kill but oh well on to the next. I've double pipped with one person escaping which tells me 4ks aren't necessary to win.

PS.. i'm not trying to say im better than you i'm truly trying to demonstrate what i do which leaves me with no issue.

You probably are better than i am.

The problem with this game is that your physical location plays a HUGE part in your experience. The majority of my games are against swf (see them often as a group and also check friends list) but according to the stats "4 man swf are rare". Solos are rare for me to face and stand out like a sore thumb when i get them.

My perspective of this game is sadly from the ever so "rare" 4 man swat squads where nothing i do can stall them, and they know every safe point on every loop like the back of their hand.

I will admit that things have gotten a bit easier since they blocked commands being entered into engine.ini so i guess many were using that to cheat and see through the walls.

If you don't tunnel it has no power.

This is not hard to understand. STOP GOING FOR SOMEONE WHO WAS JUST HOOKED. There are 4 survivors, in a normal game only 1 DS will be active at any given time. If more than 1 is active at once then you are basically dominating them as killer. If you suspect they have DS slug them, you should only need to wait AT MOST 15 seconds.

I played 8 games the other night, every game had at least 2 DS players. Know how many times I got hit by DS? ZERO. Because I didn't tunnel I spread out the damage. I got a 4k every game except 2, one was a 2k because I threw the game to get my GF daily, and another was a 3k because the last one was a friend and I basically let her go. Red ranks BTW.

But yea, tell me again how it's OH SO HARD to play around DS. Maybe don't just pick up survivors like a bot, think a little before you act, and you won't get hit with DS. Or stop tunneling. You are doing one of those 2 things if you keep getting hit by DS.

Leave the survivor on the ground and their buddy just does a drive by rez while you are chasing someone. now you have a 40 second gen to contend with as they work together.

Leave ds in the game and enjoy the ds, bt wombo combo at the end game.

moon walking does nothing against good survivors. and not everyone gets to hit through dropped pallets like you see streamers do thanks to sub 20 ping...

  • Quicker updates where they try things and remove them if it doesn't work out.

The biggest killer in this game is how slow bhvr is to do anything.

People want DS gone? remove it for a month and show the results with a reason WHY is is good/ bad for the game at the end.

people want all safe loops gone? remove it for a month and show the results with a reason WHY it was put back in or kept out of the game.

  • Best thing you can do is not play killer. The lack of killers will eventually force their hand to do something, or kill the game .

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1266785#Comment_1266785

No you got outplayed by falling for a perk. It's in your control to avoid it, therefore if you get hit with it you made the mistake. It's not the perk's fault.

DS adds a dynamic to the game that forces you to adjust your strategy as killer. The reason you have problems is because you don't want to adjust your strategy. You want to be able to do what you want to do without flexibility. That's not how games between opposing players work.

Your strategy should be fluid and dependent on the strategies your opponent is using. They shouldn't be so rigid that you just play through the game like a bot. Imagine using the same play every time in chess. Eventually someone would notice what you are doing and play around your strategy and then you lose. It makes no sense why you would continue to make the same moves if it's clear your opponent is playing to counter you. It's the same thing with DS. You have to change your strategy. Stop thinking you were outplayed by a perk and acknowledge that you need to just change the way you play.

And yes, you wouldn't make the same plays without it, but that's the point. You have this perk that will give you added protection (again not actual immunity) which allows you to take risks you otherwise couldn't. If you can capitalize on that, that's good play. If that means sitting on the gen and forcing the killer to grab you, then that is outplaying your opponent. If they change their strategy to account for the fact you have DS and slug you, then they outplayed you.

Also worth noting here that we are using the word strategy incorrectly. Strategy is an overall game plan. "I am going to fight for points A and B because they have the best defensive positions and the widest view of the rest of the map". Tactics are moment to moment instances of engagement. "I am going to rush point A from this direction to catch the enemy off guard then drop a smoke bomb to cover my movements as I take out the guy on the turret". Tactics feed into strategy. What we and the OP are really talking about are tactics, because your overall strategy as killer or survivor isn't going to be focused on single events or perks event. Equipping all basement perks on Bubba is a strategy, choosing to slug a survivor in the basement to chase down the rescuer for 2 survivors on basement hooks is a tactic. I know it's just semantics but I wanted to make this correction for a hot minute now LOL.

    It is the perks fault.

a single survivor using this perk essentially gives all four survivors decisive.

Slugging the decisive means the perk is working. Preventing you from furthering your 12 hook singular objective and you therefore got outplayed.

Leaving the survivor alone means the perk is working and "outplaying" you allowing them to continue their 5 gen 4 survivor multiple objective and your 12 hook singular objective has been halted.

Picking up the survivor and taking the ds means the perk is working allowing for double the chase time or furthering your 5 gen 4 survivor multiple objective ( the game is clearly balanced objective wise right?)

At what point is the killer in control here?

when is this one singular perk not impacting the killers gameplay in a negative way?

  • all they need to do is remove the 40 second 2 man gen speed.

If they must speed up gens then the max reduction should be 60-70 seconds

  • they need to figure out how to keep the shadow nerfs while also fixing the visual bugs they introduced. this is probably why it will take longer.

Try winning 12 chases with clown on Asylum against any optimal red rank team. If you’re really a killer main you would already know the answer to your own question.

You can also easily get 12 hooks per game with 1-2 gens left, and not play Freddy, Huntress, Nurse Billy etc etc.

    Like I said it’s a cop out.

    Can i have your survivors?

the potato level seems extremely high with them.

  • The problem with it being an addon is that nurse needs to waste both slots for cooldown reduction to be somewhat useful.

op is asking for it to be baseline as it should be since the game is so buggy.

  • @goatslinger said:

I don't know. I have to say that as of right now if you're having issues getting kills at any rank or not having fun playing killer then killer just is not for you.

    Really now?

I had a match yesterday on mothers dwelling as a billy and it went like this.

Walk to middle building, walk up the stairs, chainsaw dance with the guy on the gen, he dropped down, i dropped down, i chainsawed. I walk to the hook and place him on the hook and..... 3 gens pop

I guess the map size is my fault tho right?

  • What dead zones? survivors always seem to make the next pallet.

  • care to expand on this beyond removing a single window?

  • @MadLordJack said:

  • @SkitzoztikS said:

What you need to do is some research... Rank is no longer how they match make.... Rank is nothing but a cosmetic number to make you feel good and give you a simple goal to obtain.

Match making is now done in the background. As you play you gain and lose points for the good and bad things you do. This point system is what is now used for matchmaking. So you will be matched up with other players at or around your current skill level. This could be a rank 20 or a rank one.... It all is based off how you perform in the actual game... The more you play the better your matchmaking will be. You do not have access to see what your matchmaking ranking is so just play the best you can.

    LOL!

there is no match making.. everyone has just been chucked in a giant pool and they are going to remove visible ranks to complete the placebo.

THAT is why user settings and .ini files are locked. People abuse the hell out of them. The devs should put in better options in game but they can't ignore crap like that either. And to be perfectly honest. If your PC is so poor that you have problems playing a game, then maybe you shouldn't be playing the game.

That's one of the pros/cons of PC gaming. You NEED to update your hardware once in a while or you will be left behind. PC often gives better options and flexibility for aging hardware, but sooner or later you will need to upgrade. Can't afford a new PC? Tough luck. Learn to budget you money better and plan for these things like everyone else.

I've see you mori spam someone and their team for an entire match for being a streamer, you and I both know that survivors don't have to do a single thing to be targeted by certain people, they could simply be a streamer, playing a certain character, using certain perks, or simply being better out outplaying the other to get targeted.

Always makes me laugh with these threads how the first comment is always "Well you're a survivor, you must have done something".

Let me ask you, why would the killer need to see someones name, oh wait... they don't, its only benefit is to target people you don't like and farm with people you know, or play differently with people you don't know.

9/10 survivor streamers are toxic swf
