Be creative and put thought into your perk, and just have fun making it!

Heres mine: Damaging Goals: Every time you hit 3/2/1 survivor(s) with a basic attack the perk activates, the next survivor that Repairs a Gen, Heals Themselves or Others, Cleansing Totems, Opening A Exit Gates will have there aura shown for 4/5/6 seconds.

The perk deactivates after the aura duration is complete.

Survivor Perk - Catch Me If You Can

    Exhaustion Perk

When being chased you receive lightbringer points for ever gen completed equivalent to the time spent in chase would be the amount of repair points you would also receive.

When a gen is completed in chase, receive burst of moral for 3 seconds(sprint burst) with a cooldown of 30 seconds at tier 3.

This was inspired by the latest New Year event where we all would receive bonus BP for ever gen completed with an offering. It was nice when a killer would get tunnel vision and constantly being chased to get those points as one doesn't have a choice if the killer only has eyes for them.

  • It’s actually a solid strategy to keep victor as long as possible to prevent a snowball effect. Doing this can allow other survivors to heal, unhook or pickup and keeps the killer without a power for x amount of time.

  • I’ve gone against fun ttvs and some

squad Ttvs that were toxic. Usually the first minute of the match will inform you of which one you’ll get.

my fave was going against Yerv. He was super chill/fun and had the most random build from what I remember. I played normally(as well as I could on Doctor for a daily.. I don’t care for him) but mainly just vibed.

  • If you are talking about depipping a lot goes into that. With rank reset every month, someone could have just not played in a while. Secondly with matchmaking being horrible, once your past r15 now you get paired with anyone during peak times so I can see certain casual killer players trying to stay in lower ranks to complete dailies/challenges/etc.

it’s also extremely easy to pip even if you get your butt handed to you, so if you get decent mm but find yourself at a level you’re stuck at and can keep getting pips, I can see some people deranking to get put in a more correct (?) spot.

but then again with mm so bad, I don’t see the point.

I guess it’s the same reason a lot of survivor mains that stream purposely keep themselves in green/purple rank to show off skills.

  • Trickster - lower the amount needed to remove health state. It’s ok on PC rn but on controller it’s hot garbage and he needs to be balanced around controller. I buff he’s speed to 115 until he starts to actively throw knives.

plague - instead of having to go across the map to get her corrupt power, make it a sort of teleport ability to where she can summon it wherever she is. If survivors cleanse, they shouldn’t have the power to waste more time.

Legion - I would like a secondary ability like clown has but with different ability. Something that maybe represents Julie.

Spirit - Add a sound for ppl in her tr when she activates her power(not the one she uses when phases but something to let survivors know she activated it)

Pig - more boxes instead of 4 and make them similar to trappers traps so they don’t get it on the first go.

Myers - 110 in tier 1, 2 seconds of stalk to get tier 2, not running out of stalk permanently on a survivor, have it come back after x amount t of time. I’d also boost his speed to Trapper speed in tier 3.

In my own experience it is not fun playing killer as the people I get matched with far exceed my own skill level EVERY GAME. I used to be able to stay in the low purple high green range playing killer...now I can't leave yellow. Lately every group I played with has at least one survivor ranging from rank 1 to 5. My current rank as killer has not left the 11 - 14 range. It doesn't help that I jump from killer to killer randomly as I play them all, including the ones I hate to use. Had one game with all rank 1 survivors. I was beaten down to a rank 15 before that one. I have no clue why a yellow rank killer is going up against 4 rank 1's. Thankfully that was the only time.

I am going to take a guess and say that if you have ever gotten close to the red ranks then the system will pair you with them regardless of where you are at now. As killer, I admit I have a ways to go. The highest I should be facing right now is green ranks. A second guess I am gong to throw out there is that SWF is throwing the system off. What I mean by that is, one person playing in red ranks while the rest are green or yellow would draw in weaker killers. Or vice versa, with one yellow rank survivor and the rest purple/red ranks. Not saying they do this intentionally, just the after affects of a system not designed for SWF.

The reason I make those guesses is because of my experience as survivor. I am currently rank 6 as survivor and the highest I have reached is 2 (that was some time ago though.) I tend to fluctuate between ranks 3 and 7. I should not be in these ranks. At all. I should be in the higher green ranks as...again...I admit that I am not as good as I would like to be. When I play solo I tend to struggle against purple rank killers and red ranks make me into a joke. I should be about even with the green rank killers. What throws it off? I believe it is when I play with friends.

The 2 I usually play with are often busy with work and personal stuff so they just can't put in the time to rank up like I can. One friend should be in the green ranks...but because she has to work, take care of kids, clean...and do almost everything herself, she just can't devote the time...so she is stuck in the lower ranks. That being said, she is fairly good at the game and would far exceed me if she could master looping effectively. The other friend I often play with should be in the purple ranks...but due to time having to work and whatnot, can only stay in the green ranks (plus he consistently gets tunneled and camped whenever he plays, not even a reason for it.) He is far better than me but is prone to letting his rage take control. These are the 2 I play with most. Add one of our other friends who RARELY ever play, and the killers we tend to pull in are pretty much new or inexperienced. when its is 4 of us we NEVER see a killer higher than green. If the 3 of us who mostly play are together, it is usually around green or yellow ranks for a killer. Just 2 of us and it is anyone's guess.

I think it is safe to say that the current ranking system just doesn't, and will never, work as intended. Whenever they so implement MMR finally, I do hope they have it set to track survivor's skills in solo and SWF separately.

As someone that’s never been red rank killer, barely green. I get so many red ranks. Last week me I got 4 3-4 red rank swfs, one was all four r1. I was playing Hag too with one perk lol

  • Right?!? I’ve been playing on PC to practice for cross progression with Switch and I never want to play killer again on Switch lol

You see that’s why you think he’s so bad because you’re just m1’ing. When it comes to knives don’t hold them the entire loop. When you’re holding the knives you’re slower than the survivors. Don’t overuse his knives. Just like every killer in the game overusing your power and not knowing to use it or not will hurt you. Watch YouTubers who are good with him play him and watch when they pull out the knives and only watch that. The big problem so many of you do is you either have knives out when you shouldn’t and you don’t have knives out when you should. It’s just something you learn by playing him a bunch. Overall you’re just playing him wrong.

If they would make it to where you only slow down when you are attacking with knives that alone would be an improvement

Im not acting like im better than anyone I just think the criticisms of him are a bit overblown.

Or you’re ignoring players that don’t use a mouse. I’ve stated he’s in an ok position on PC but he’s completely unplayable on controller.

either way, him being ok doesn’t mean I don’t think he doesn’t need more work. I still prefer both Plague and Huntress over him in ever scenario.

He does have a high difficulty, because the vast majority of people that attempt to play him don't even know how to run tiles with his knives, and when to get the knives into people. Also people don't know that he is meant to be played as a killer that excels in finding people out of position, and push them to weak tiles or into a bad spot. If someone is in a bad zone they won't have a chance. Also a lot of bad Tricksters run STBFL on him even though it's the biggest waste of a perk slot on him. He has an incredibly high skill cap, but is dragged down a bit by the fact that his recoil still exists when it shouldn't even be there in the first place. I've yet to play against a moderately decent Trickster. I play him on PC too. In fact if we go off actual stats I have 6.2k full laceration damage on him, and am #4 global with him. So I have sunk a lot of time into him a little too much infact. He's not an easy pickup, because there is very few people who actually know how to run tiles with him in the first place. If people did maybe we wouldn't be in the position where people call him a terrible killer when he isn't. I still think he needs at least to be put up to 115%, and he would be fine, but even then he still isn't an easy pick up, because most people just don't have the mechanical skill to even play him properly to begin with.

He’s not meant to have a high skill cap per the devs. That’s not their objective

  • @GodLikeTerror said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/245699/trickster-is-still-the-worst-killer-in-the-game

I dunno about that one man. I do just fine with him. Even against deathsquads I don't go home with at least 6+ hook states. People still just can't figure out how to play him yet.

He’s meant to be easily picked up per the objective by the devs. If he was meant to have high difficulty then the reward should match that. On PC he’s ok but he’s seems more of a chore to play than say Plague.

  • Plague’s and then I found the dsync issue with her vomit plus taking 20 years without addons to make a survivor broken incredibly frustrating.

  • Ash buckle one. I just can’t seem to ever find a reason to use it.

  • @BrokenArrow said:

Honestly, I wouldn't mind waiting in a queue for 5 minutes just to match me with people of my own skill instead of players with thousands of hours in the game (I have 27 hours). Just for context, I play killer and the queue time for me is always under 30 seconds.

I think I ranked up too fast and now I'm being punished for it - I'm rank 10 and in almost all my games there is a red rank survivor or two who I have to ignore - I'm more scared of these guys than they are of me XD. I guess it goes both ways and new survivors sometimes match with red rank killers? (this would be much worse imo since one red rank survivor only makes up 1/4 of the team)

All in all I'm enjoying the game I just wish the matchmaking was better - especially with the RE chapter coming. I think it'll draw a lot of people to the game and some of them might be put off when they come up against super survivors or killers while they're still learning.

I know if the matchmaking changes it'd make the queues too long for higher ranked players but it's real frustrating for newer players (or at least for me) when we get matched against them :S

That’s the big problem with Killer ranking. We rank too quickly and without needed perks to compete the higher we go. On my alt, I’m practicing m/kb for when switch cross progression soon. It’s much easier but I hit r13 and got a full red rank squad(I asked and they told me). Mind you I’m not new and know how to play and did fairly well with 9 hooks against a chill squad.

those gens went fast tho, ended the first chase very quickly and took a sec to get to a hook and 3 gens popped quick. Most of my hooks were ECG and new killers would def be discouraged. With zero gen regression it’s tough

  • I was playing Jeff. A blendie farmed me twice, kept urbaning away, sandbagged us while doing a gen when she was chased and wouldn’t do gens. It was the two of us left and I followed her urbaning ass around, injured with no iron will.

she was so not getting hatch.

  • I def don’t hate the Scooby Doo option as long as Daphne is playable lol and Velma.

  • @n0suchluck said:

I've played against a similar swf. It's terrible. Especially if you're a rank 10 killer like me. Its matches like this that make me not want to ever play killer again. I realized within 2 minutes of the match that I wasn't the killer. They were...

same.... yellow rank killer myself and if I play at night I get at least 2 of these high rank squads. I just take the dc penalty now and move on.

  • A couple issues not mentioned is matchmaking already being a pain but it’s worse with swf. A lot of mid to low tier killers being stuck with high ranks with one low rank survivor either their friend starting to play or smurf. It just doesn’t seem fair to go against teams with significantly more hours in the game than a killer with >40 hours.

theres also the bully squads that use this mm to their advantage. Having switched to PC to practice m+keyboard. I’ve gotten muliyple purple/red rank + 1 r20 swf all with flashlights etc. I can’t imagine a new killer would want to stick around even having to deal with that.

I think it would solve a lot of problems having a sbm active plus stricter rules on keeping these types of squads out of mid/low ranks.

  • The worst for me was having a great match and looping/mind gaming the killer very well even when we all died in the end. The killer did a good job and it was hella fun.

Next match different player but same killer and map(as well as near identical setup), I was practically a r20. I somehow survived after many mistakes and the killer not being the greatest. I just outplayed myself a lot lmao

  • My guess it’ll be held back like open handed was for more internal discussion.

I think reducing the time it’s active and making it a one time use which would deactivate once time is up or healed would balance it.

  • I’m going to go controversial but say Spine Chill. I love using it but it is a bit op against stealth killers. I think it should t proc if a killer is undetectable.

  • Honestly the only time I wish I had self care is the times I get unhooked and the unhooker refuses to heal me. Had a bill with well make it ignore me to start working on a gen, he misses a skill check and the killer comes over and goes directly to me since I’m injured and I’m downed. He then proceeded to do the same thing.

im more forgiving of my self care teammates nowadays

  • @RepostRiposte said:

Pretty sure they already did a "fix" for red stains going through walls a while back. It's only on certain tiles you can see it on low graphics.

Also where did you hear they are blocking off gaps in walls? They just reworked Father Campbell's Chapel to have way more holes to throw stuff through so not sure who told you that.

I should specify rumours as I heard some streamers talking about this. I have no legit source so it’s heresy

  • I’m gonna say no. Having played Killer on Switch and now PC..... PC legit feels like easy mode. I will say for survivor I find controllers easier than mouse and keyboard but Killer is a completely different story. I’ve had fun playing Huntress, Nurse and Plague on PC. Trickster is easier on PC but still garbage.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Dead Hard is easily superseded by Sprint Burst in my opinion. If you know what you're doing you can easily make more distance with SB than you ever could with DH.

Sprint Burst and Spine chill is a good combo as long as you have enough awareness not to run to the killer lol (cries with meghead memories)

  • Playing on PC instead of Switch, I’ve found Nurse kind of easy to pick up. I had more issues initially with Spirit. Trickster seems way more technically difficult to me than Nurse and that’s just my own experience.

So I am confused, should all the killers have the same type of lethality or brutality or should there be some kind of disparity with regard to the different types of killers you can play and leave that choice up to the player? If not, why not then just have one killer and thats it,,,its a serious question. It seems to me there should be a range of killer lethality and thats a good thing in a game,,,if you dont like one killer dont play him.

It’s more about the devs objective with this killer. They want you to rely on his ranged attacks and not his basic attack. They also list him as an easy killer to pick up.

lethality can be different per killer but what is that in exchange of? Chase? He’s 110... Slow Down? ... he has a laceration meter that goes down on its own and survivor aren’t inconvenienced or slowed down in away.

so he has no one shot injury, slow in chase, laceration meter decays with no negatives toward the survivor, and main event is..... a thing.

thus why I say he’s got a high skill cap with low reward

  • Had a match today where everyone would stick their head up everyone long L wall or shack’s ass the second spine chill alerted I was looking at their direction. Eventually I had to commit to a chase and they all knew exactly how many loops they needed with a 110 killer before dropping pallet.

    i just played Huntress after.

No brother, I think he does deserve a buff because unless you have really, and I mean really, practiced with him his powers are not like Huntress and Slinger. It takes better aim and adjustment and yes he is slow and that is why I thought the devs buffed his speed and knives a little? All I am saying is he is not as easy as Huntress to take survivors down from half way across the map and thats okay. There has got to be some variance between killers. I used to HATE him thinking he was weird and didnt fit in the game. Now, I kinda like playing against him and I have played some really good killer mains who slayed with him a lot.

I think the issue I have with him is that he’s meant to be the easier ranged killer to use by the Devs own objective. The problem is that they over compensated by giving him slow speed/large number to lose a health state to make him not seem oppressive and lastly all design was made with only PC(mouse and keyboard) in mind in terms of balancing.

so he has a higher skill caps with very little reward. Sure high tier killer mains can be brutal with him but I’ve seem the same killer mains be brutal with BK Myers as well... do we really only what this killer to be used sometimes with killer mains on pc with x amount of hours?

  • Swf itself can be ok if I go against a swf that’s properly matched. I still can do poorly but I don’t feel like the game is over before it begins. For example, I had a match on haddonfield as a r16 and I got paired with a 4 person swf with ranks ranging from yellow-green with similar hours of play.

next match I play trickster just to practice on pc with him. I got 3 red ranks and a r20 group with corn map offered and they 99’d 3 gens after doing 2 and proceeded to spam their flashlights and be jerks. When I got two of them down via STBL, one ran to tap finish the gens while one unhooked with BT(both unhooked had DS)

I played horribly as I was trying to make use of his knives and main event. I still cut chases super short to “spread pressure” with Trickster but those gens popped quick. This match just made me remember why I don’t play killer much anymore as I’m nothing more than a play thing for groups like this.

  • I really want The Craft as a chapter. I want to main Nancy

  • @Someissues said:

Hes ofc playable. But u cant play him on Red Rank, all matches i went with him its all lost , 2k or 1k or all 4 escapes. Vs Really bad solo survs then i can 4k. Playing him on high rank ull feel like ur handicap and ur at a massive disadvantage. I dont know why hes not 115%, hes very easy to loop with 110

For me that’s the worse part. Mediocre loopers getting boosted because it takes so long to get a hit or down them if they know the basics.

I find myself dropping all chases until I find the weak link and I tunnel them out.

  • On pc he’s manageable, but low tier. He makes me want to play huntress or plague still.

on my switch he’s still unplayable

  • Corn make have always been tilted to favour Survivors

  • I only like this map if I’m playing pallet Freddy lol

If it’s a “free hit” there is zero skill. If you’re getting constantly spun quit lunging and just tap the attack button or be patient. Waiting less than 1 second to position an attack isn’t that difficult

    Well yeah but that’s boring

I just think it would be fun to be able to spin with hillybilly while using your chainsaw when they spin. It could be hella funny

  • Prolly the same skill it is to dodge a hit by manipulating ones hit box.

  • @BubbaOniBlight said:

So if a survivor is in a dead zone, instead of giving him a final chance of spinning a killer just make it impossible to get away? I’ve had plenty of times where I spun the killer multiple times and got close enough to a window or pallet. Giving a free hit would just be boring.

I think it would be fun and a way to show off skill. So if we’re in a dead zone and they go to 360, you can 360 and hit them!

  • I don’t want it nerfed but I would think some chsnges would be good to curb behavior.

like making it to where you aren’t able to pip if you and your teammates have huge gaps on rank. This prevents boosting for both the new player and the veteran. Priority to higher ranked killers vs lower rank killers would also be good. And since pipping wouldn’t be an issue anymore and ppl just want to play with their friends anyway... seems like an easy fix

  • @Zaytex said:

    Sacrificial wards exist.

And no, killers would just put on maps favourable to them like indoor maps or macmillian for coal tower and shelter woods.

It’s a 1v4 tho so them having the upper hand should be the case.

im think it would be fine if killers had iri map offerings or survivors had to offer 4 of the same map to increase odds being sent there... or make them anti-map offerings instead

  • I play on switch and been practicing on pc for cross progression. Ranged killers are usually easy mode on pc but trickster is still very clunky to me. He’s map dependent still and even low rank survivors learn quickly to dodge him. Even after his qol fix

im still a bit disappointed honestly

I just see red rank killers cleaning up and in all the vast array of games I play each week they all cant be over ranked green survivors,,, this game has to be somewhat killer-sided?? Not talking about those who run SWF,,, merely solo survivors. By its very nature, survivors have to worry about killers who are either, stealthy, invisible, can launch one-hit downs (which to me should never be allowed), can phase/vape, run super fast, throw bottles of lethal concoctions, launch great distances to strike,,,and this doesnt even take into account their perks. As well, not even talking about killers like the Doctor who can simply run around charging everywhere to see where you are and strike.

What can survivors do,,,gens and totems thats it. Survivors are def no where near as fast as killers,,,even the slowest ones. If you cant loop than you are toast (which I know "git guud" at looping then). You are toast if do not time things exact with killers who can phase/vape, if you are against a Wraith might as well hang it up because even though he gives you a notification when he de-cloaks he is still within striking range. Demogorrgen maybe,,, but he is the one who can launch great distances to strike and if timing and location are not exact then you are toast. I am not even getting into hit boxes which are so absurdly off in this game its not funny. It has always amazed me at how you are vaulting through a window and you look back and the killer is a distance away yet somehow gets the hit??? To me it all comes down to how good you are at looping and how much of the killers time you can waste with it. If you are not good at looping you might as well find a different game and that is sad.

I think the main problem is killers have to assume swf when going in all matches. SoloQ vs Swf is a major balancing issues pair with the fact a lot of swfs smurf to get bb killers to bully and it’s a hot mess. I would love to play around with builds as killer but every time I do, I get the worst toxic swfs. I prepare the next match for that and I get legit survivors my rank and then I have to reign myself in.

  • To reiterate what others were saying. With rank reset too, you’re going up against killers that may be higher or at your actual rank. Usually at beginning of rank reset as killer, i tend to get even matched survivors. As survivor on the other hand, rank reset especially during the week, tends to mean I also get similarly skilled killers OR I pipped beyond by skill because of weekend bad mm giving me baby killers and I eventually even out to where I should be.... then matchmaking makes me up in rank quickly.

  • 80/80 thinking of going higher since playing on my Alt account for ptb and it’s so much nicer. Anything that gets me closer to that would be a good thing

  • I love him aesthetically but it’s still a pain to play him. Fun if I’m cool with forfeiting at the beginning and just going for knife injuries.

he has had me interested in playing huntress and that experience is Luke night and day. Having loads of fun playing her and can keep up with gen speeds.

I shouldn't be punished with only the sweatiest survivors and killers 24\7 just because I've played so long. Not to mention every content creater this community enjoys will be forced to quit.

I want the game to be fun for everyone. Not just cater to one group.

Why should i have insane q times and only face the same killers\survs? I get it, bad games aren't gun but there's no world where mmr will function. You trust bhvr's code and ai to determine skill?

Ok but sweaty teams and killers need to be barred from brown-green ranks survivors and killers.

  • I mean you denied him hooks points so he in return denied you points. Also what were ranks? Were they even?

  • No because a major issue with playing killer is matchmaking/gen speeds and a lot of killers that are listed as “easy” struggle in this game and have to resort to bad tactics to compete.

  • A lot of this sounds good to me. Idk about specifics with demo but it seems some aren’t happy with buff his power speed so hopefully they’ll look into that.

I feel like huntresses new iri should be basekit for trickster.

1 … 7 8 9 10 11
