It's not as good as it used to be now that PR/DMS is part of the meta. Not as many killers are using ruin or pop.
-
When that tome comes out I absolutely will be using anti-slugging perks more often.
-
They should work with blessing, but only after they actually give boons counterplay and nerf COH.
It should also be added to thana.
-
The thing with ace in the hole is that it only works if you escape. If you die it doesn't do anything.
Killers can't really die so it'd have to have some other kind of condition, which whatever strong addon they're using would help them achieve. So it wouldn't really work.
-
It never bothered me much that he didn’t necessarily fit in the game as a k-pop character, I just think his entire power was a mistake. It’s just boring and a worse version of huntress, both to play and to play against.
-
I think they just need to tweak the spawns a bit so they can’t all be next to each other on one side of the map and the other half has nothing. Gift of Pain also needs a buff.
-
I don't use them and never did even before keys were nerfed. I still see other players in my games using them semi-frequently.
-
Normally, lockers mostly muffle their grunts of pain, but they don't block it entirely.
However, yes right now they are bugged and are much louder in lockers than they should be.
-
Idk if it's necessarily OP but it probably didn't need to be buffed as much as it did in order to make it good. 24m with no cooldown probably would've been enough.
-
Has to be an injured survivor and you have to be within 10 meters of them.
Also depends on the type of attack; basic attacks count and most special attacks do as well but some don’t. For example you can’t get a protection hit from PH’s punishment because it can hit multiple survivors.
-
I see her fairly often. Definitely more than I used to before her buffs.
I like playing her too.
-
It looks like they started the 6th attempt too late. If your life bar gets down to 50 while attempting to unhook yourself, you are allowed to finish the attempt and will get off if successful, but that doesn’t prevent you from going second stage (and thus being on death hook next time).
In this case though it seems like they timed it so perfectly that it bugged the UI. Usually the UI doesn’t bug out when this happens but in this case it did. But this is a UI bug and nothing more than that - the survivor being able to be mori’d isn’t.
-
Good catch. I hope they fix it.
-
Depipping just shouldn’t exist at all anymore, period. It’s unnecessary now that ranks aren’t used for matchmaking.
-
It’s a bug exclusive to the Ruin/Undying combo, see the following for more info:
@Tricksters_Wife said:
Engaged in a chase, lasted around 1 minute and the gen never regressed during the whole chase? As you can see my Undying was cleansed but my Ruin was still active. Wouldn't let me kick the gen either.
Not sure if it's specifically this generator on Ormond or if it's all of them as I didn't get a chance to really patrol the rest of the gens before my Ruin was cleansed as well.Platform: Steam
EDIT: CONCRETE PROOF OF THIS:
I think this has something to do with Undying being cleansed.

that's total overkill, might as well banish the gen to the shadow realm cause it ain't going to recover from that.
It is but it’s fun. Yesterday I did gen-destroyer Wraith with double shadowdance, pop, brine, eruption, and oppression.
-
It is but that’s true of a lot of things in this game.
DBD is not “new-player friendly” and doesn’t do a good job of teaching players how to play effectively and how to loop. The tutorials barely get you started and nothing more.

Aww. You’re welcome
-
I figured the art team would do great as always but these look fantastic. Looks more realistic and still has the dark theme the way it should.
-
While they need changes, I don’t think that’s the way to do it. A lot of killers won’t necessarily want an obsession swap depending on the perks they’re using.
-
Well said. I mostly play the same way as you as long as the survivors don’t give me a good reason not to.
-
That might be better? Idk.
This would encourage you to place it near a gen you're working on or try to use it mid-chase, rather than placing it somewhere super out of the way where the killer will never bother going to, which makes it weaker.
-
I feel like if it had many more tokens/opportunities to use it beyond what it has now it'd basically not be any different than unlimited in a lot of cases unless it's something like scratched mirror or amanda's letter. I'm not super convinced it needs any more changes honestly, now that it has 4 tokens instead of 3.
-
By the time you get 10 tokens there'd be no point really since it'd be impossible for there to be more than 2 survivors left at that point.
It'd be strong at 3-5 stacks or more but it wouldn't get there very often since it'd reveal itself to survivors as soon as you get 1 and they try to heal. It'd probably play out similar to huntress lullaby except it'd be better than that perk because it wouldn't entirely rely on missed skill checks.
The 30 seconds of broken is just silly though. You have an anti-heal hex which punishes you for breaking it by...making you unable to heal? I don't get that part of it.
-
Needs a complete rework honestly. The obsession having faster healing isn't worth the slowdown it gives the other survivors. Even if you just removed the faster healing I don't think it'd really be that good. By the time you get enough tokens to the point where it matters, you've usually either already won or you just never get there because you lose before that happens.

The last actual shadownerf to a killer I can think of (As in it wasn't documented anywhere and wasn't given an explanation) is Wraith's 'shadow-dance' family of addons had the locker opening speed increase removed from it
I actually think that's a bug because it was only removed on one of them. I forgot which is which but I played him yesterday with both the purple and the green addons and the locker opening speed was faster. But I remember playing with only one before and it wasn't, just forgot which one. Next time I play him I'll test it out.
-
Try it on Wraith. It's great
-
I swear it's like the DC penalty is off except it isn't. I've also seen way more ragequits/DCs lately.
-
Not so much that other killers are weak because of her, but it absolutely has an effect on perks.
RPD never should've been in the game to begin with. It wasn't designed for DBD and doesn't work well in DBD. Eyrie is just too big (and I know it's the same size as a lot of other maps, but I'd argue literally all of those maps are too big).
Nurse prevents some perks from being stronger imo because what might be fine on most killers would be busted on her. This is part of why I think a reasonable change to her is not counting her blink attacks as basic attacks, because quite frankly perks like MYC and starstruck are just busted on her and her alone, and are reasonably balanced for other killers. I don't really want to see Nurse reworked from the ground up and I think some smaller tweaks would be enough to mostly mitigate the issue; I don't mind that we have her as the one killer that gets to be different, but she absolutely has at least somewhat of a chokehold on balance in her current state.
-
I use it frequently on artist with agitation and PR. It works well since even if you don't get an instadown survivors will often give you free hits with birds to avoid getting m1'd.
-

Trapper. My brain will make me worry that there is a trap everywhere, so usually I'll end up taking a hit and will just hold W until I absolutely have to use a loop.
Also even when I use a loop I often won't be efficiently hugging the loop.
Against Trapper I’m the guy that will stop to walk through grass rather than run through grass if I’m not in a chase (or just go around it) out of paranoia in the off chance there’s a random trap there. Someone I swf with frequently found it funny, lol.
-
It depends. There is nothing wrong with stealth gameplay, and some players are better at it than others. But if you’re stealthing all game to the point where it’s significantly hurting your team/objectives aren’t getting done, that’s where it becomes a problem. You just have to find a good balance between avoiding the killer while still pushing gens and helping your team.
Also I’m sorry to hear about the accident! Glad to hear everyone is okay though.
-
I’d be okay with this. Blindness as a whole right now can be okay against solos but is way too underwhelming vs SWF, so I like that this at least makes it always do something.

I'd actually say Ghostface is better...due to the fact that he can instantly start to use his power, it's often I spawn in and find a survivor I can peek on pretty quickly, as Myers I have to level up that power on more than 1 survivor, when I'm T2 I can't hide my TR in the same way that GF can either. And my insta down on Myers is a lot more limited - although it can be used on more than one person at a time.
I'm not really bothered by tombstone as Myers as I've been tombstoned once in nearly 6 years because it takes so long to get that activated and then get the grab that usually the match is completed by that point.
That’s fair. For myers I usually run corrupt to alleviate his bad early game + memorial flower/j.myers memorial and tier 3 duration to tier up quicker and get the most out of instadowns. It takes longer to get it the first time but with the stalk rate addon it’s worth it.
The advantages myers has over ghostface is that you can’t be broken out by being looked at + the lunge in t3 and faster vault, and not necessarily needing to stalk the survivor you’re instadowning. And a 16 meter TR, while not zero, can still catch survivors out of position from time to time.
What ghostface has is that he’s not a super slow killer at the start and can constantly have no terror radius, but stalking isn’t always worth it since if they spot you stalking and get away, or get away because you exposing them gave them enough time to react, you might end up with nothing vs. had you just skipped the stalk and gone for a hit/gen grab. Once you’re broken out then unless you already had someone marked you’re just an m1 killer for 24 seconds. But while in his power he’s better at sneaking around if survivors aren’t in an open area where they can see the killer coming.
Overall I think it comes down to the map though, on indoors ghostface probably is better, otherwise I think myers is better. But that’s just my opinion.
-
I agree. Myers isn’t good but I’ve always thought he’s not as bad as people say he is, even if we ignore tombstone piece. Ghostface is just terrible unless you get an indoor map.
-
Honestly I usually just forget about them most of the time unless there’s an event going on. I don’t usually bring items that often either so I don’t really think about it at all.
-
I still get deathslinger from time to time. Legion is rare but they show up occasionally. Probably haven’t had one for a couple weeks.
Haven’t seen a hag in ages though and I’m not complaining about it

But dem 1000 cleansing points 😅
Okay fair, lol. If it’s at the end of the match and everyone is safe I might do a dull totem for points.
But I have score events hidden anyways because I got tired of them clogging up the top right.

Yeah but that's not strictly true, he not exactly the weakest killer out there and I have seen some of the others even if it's only been once a month etc.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2864247#Comment_2864247
Should use discipline addons, or at least I think that's the name. It shortens th shock delay (they cant vault etc. Sooner after being shocked)
Yea but I hate having to run the same addons every game. It’s like old wraith and windstorm.
Imo nerf discipline and make part of it basekit and he’d already be a lot better
-
Well that was fast.
Glad I took a 5 minute break from studying last night to log in, put in the code then immediately closed the game lol
-
I don’t play him that much because the delay on shock therapy feels kinda bad imo and should be a bit shorter. I never see him as survivor either.

Ok... huh.
To be clear, yes; I can hear her when she teleports, or manifests/de-manifests, stuff like that... I've just never noticed a "lullaby".
It’s a really weird noise. I don’t really know how to describe it and it doesn’t sound like a traditional “lullaby”. But it’s definitely there

yeah. I'm just trying to bring some attention to her bugs in the hopes that they get fixed. can't fix what they don't know about after all.
Yea. I didn’t know about the other stuff you listed mainly cuz nobody plays her (and neither do I) but her trap TR broke somewhere around nemesis release I think.

I mained Hillbilly years ago, but then people kept spinning and exploiting the bad fov, so I dropped him, although I've recently picked him back up and don't miss point-blank saws half as much as back then.
I mained Clown, but oh my God did that get old quick. Pre-rework Clown was awful, because you would gain no distance from throwing bottles since he slowed way down as soon as he threw them, and his reload took so long. At a certain point, it felt like the only reason to play him was liking the character.
I mained Trapper but played him non-stop til I P3'd him, which burned me out of him. Besides, some matches just felt unwinnable with nobody falling for traps, especially when they kept getting disarmed.
I mained Huntress but people were spinning and exploiting the fov so I couldn't get point-blank M2 into M1/M2, which is like half her strength. I've picked her back up because I handle that better now, and I aim where the survivor is gonna dodge instead of at them.
I remember maining Spirit at one point when she still had her gen grab. That was most of the reason I played her, you could say. But then I noticed that even with meta perks, I started losing with her, because of gen rush and because Iron Will is unfair against her. Someone had it every match against me, I swear.
I mained Hag because she was and is strong, but I don't know, I just got burnt out of her. I still play her occasionally. If I'm playing to win, she's probably one of my go-tos.
I mained Deathslinger when he came out. I wasn't that good at first, but I was decent. I guess I dropped him because I was more bored than anything. If I ran 4 gen slowdown perks with him, it was easy. If I didn't, it was difficult. Heh, and I even foolishly tried to use PWYF on him, not realizing the shot AND the hit each took a PWYF stack away.
I mained Plague, because her red puke seemed really good, and I was downing survivors so quick. But then I either went against survivors who didn't cleanse, or I ran into her still-present hitbox problems. I'd hit the survivors clearly with the red puke, and they wouldn't get hit, and without that power what's the point of playing her?
I mained Nemesis, but then I realized that having to hit survivors 3 times with my power was really bad, especially when they could just cure themselves. Also the hitbox on the whip is wildly inconsistent, sometimes it hits them through a wall, and sometimes it's like a sewing needle-sized hitbox.
I mained Demogorgon because Scott opened my eyes to his strength, but without Black Heart/Barb's Glasses which I ran out of, he just felt mediocre.
Right now I main Blight/Artist. Blight is more add-on dependent to me, so if I had to choose one it would probably be Artist. I'm playing Blight mostly to use up his strong add-ons before they get nerfed, because we know it's coming. Artist feels really good to play, especially with certain add-ons. I really underrated her at first.
If I lose my current mains, I don't know what I'm gonna do. No other killers seem strong enough to be enjoyable.
The first time I played slinger I did the exact same thing for a while. Played several matches before ever realizing that a shot + a hit is 2 stacks lol. I get why it’s like that though.
-
I feel ya. We all have our bad days.
Struggling with wraith is fairly common against good survivors since he doesn’t have much chase potential so it’s nothing new.
Or I just get that day where I play bubba and bump into every rock loop on the map. It happens.
-
Personally I feel like lethal is overrated. It‘s not bad by any means but survivor spawns are usually fairly predictable for an experienced killer (with some exceptions ofc). I mostly prefer using corrupt, perhaps with the exception of blight since he doesn’t really need it.
-
The terror radius on her traps has been bugged for nearly a year.
-
They actually are working on improving it. They restructured how updates worked a couple patches ago and iirc there’s more to come.
-
Thank you bhvr for fixing these! I can have fun against nurse again
