This perk is completely countered by ruin, pain resonance, surge, eruption and merciless storm. On certain maps totems are quite hard to cleanse, let alone find. If they make a nerf to this already niche perk that wastes 5 seconds, they should improve totem spawns to be easier to find, but still defendable for non mobility killers.

And so you say that the killer must bring a perk and at the same time hope that this perk will work specifically for this generator, but outside of the perk there is no counter game? Don't you think this is too much?

It was fluke, they didn't prepare or anything and just tried to figure it out during the game. Next game would be easy for them, because they would just not heal and play safe (prerun) to break 3-gen.

But it was an issue, because playing her was way easier than playing against it. So breaking her 3-gen was near impossible for soloQ.

I don't think it would be that big issue now, because all those perks are gutted/nerfed and gen kicking is limited.

Even in her best days in 3gen she was much weaker than a knight or blight or nurse, people just saw 1 video and went crazy

  • @Alen_Starkly said:

I think that outside of organized SWFs, CoH is useless. I play predominantly solo Q, and whenever I boon (CoH), my teammates avoid the boon like a plague. If they are injured, they make sure to heal far away from the boon (outside of the boon area). If I'm injured and inside the boon, even though my aura is revealed, no-one makes an effort to come heal me.

The way this perk was nerfed was bad, and I called it. The perk is not worth running in solo Q.

I will repropose my suggestions for CoH from back then, to make it a viable solo Q perk, but also strategic:

    1. enable self-heals
    2. when snuffed by the killer, the boon perks go on a 30-60 sec cooldown. this will disincentivize mindless booning anywhere, anytime, and incentivize strategic booning (where, when), so that the killer doesn't immediately find the boon; you'd also have to pay attention to not bring the killer to the boon during the chase
    3. the (self-) healing speed will depend on the proximity to the totem. The speed would be the highest right near the totem, but would drop the further you are. This would make healing on another floor not "just an easy heal". You would have to make choice to either take longer to self-heal on another floor, or go close to the boon for better self-healing speed, but risk the killer catching you and/or the boon, and then snuff it and trigger a cooldown
    4. optional - when healing has been done for X amount of seconds within the boon area, the boon dies out, and the boon perks of the booner go on a cooldown. you could also make it that if the booner wants to reboon before the first one dies out, the start of boon interaction on a new totem immediately snuffs out the old boon, and triggers a cooldown, while also cancelling the new bless interaction instantly. (similar to when you touch a totem and Dominance kicks you off the totem). rebooning while there's an active boon would kick you off the totem, snuff out the old boon, and trigger a cooldown

This imo would make the boons useful for solo Q and incentivize strategic use (instead of simple mindless booning without punishment).

COH is still a very good perk that puts a ton of pressure on the killer, if you buff it even more you will encourage tunneling even more as hit and run will become completely useless

Yeah right right you mean for SURVIVOR FRIENDS who literally can tell their friends on discord. I guess you haven't watched solo que? Because even if the team somehow knows from the bat someone would have to had gone to the hook and witnessed it and now we have 1 person who knows then we got 2 more who might think they need to go. Or are survivors supposed to magically know when the killer is camping without someone having kindred? Or everyone having kindred.

This is the reason why kindred is the best solo perk you should never take off

  • @DestroyerBG said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3887019#Comment_3887019

Especially considering how many killers can effectively just camp the hook and guarantee a trade for sure or just outright get a down for free. Of course when they fix this then killers will just go ahead and slug everyone until we bleed out so. We just got ######### options all around all because nobody can truthfully have fun without it being on the other side's expense. Which is why yes we better run away from those situations honestly.

For survivors there is nothing better than a killer camper, your team just fixes the generators while you literally do nothing, holding off the killer

Okay, but all killer will get ability, by pressing q all survivors with the invisibility cloak die

What is the point of having the killer pick up a survivor (since the second time 2v8 came out), when you can't even stun or blind them in order to drop the survivor?
It happened quite a lot during this time in 2v8 that I stun or blind the killer and nothing happens and the survivor is still hooked.

You literally can blind/stun the killer, but you need stun in timing

  • @lazerlight said:

just had a 2v8 game last so long against a legion, they need to either tweak them or make gen repair speed up by 5-10% after a 2v8 match hits the 10-12 minute mark, because his speed up is crazy.

People say "get in a locker", they can grab you out of a locker mid frenzy, that only works against legions that aren't that experienced. A good legion will predict/expect that and either wait in front of it and/or open it once you are in.

I can tolerate them in normals, but in 2v8? It's rough.

Even 10000h main legion Tatariu makes mistakes on lockers, I don't know what monsters you are going against, but if they play legion better than 10000h they deserve their victory

I wish they would but if they do then more people would not be buying their dlcs for perks. So nah they will probably never change it in the name of free money and p2win scenarios.

But if they do this, they will no longer be releasing absurdly strong perks to drive sales like they did with mft, so this will benefit all players

  • And what magic prevents survivors from repairing generators?

  • @Rudjohns said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3885922#Comment_3885922

True, thats why I have been saying this for a long time: The objective of the game should be 2k, not 4k. As soon as the 2nd survivor is dead, the remaining 2 are sacrificed by the entity.

So you are the one who says that 2 survivors is a defeat2 survivors can still repair generators, etc., but usually hide for 20 minutes on the edge of the map without touching the generator, and it is from such survivors who hold the game hostage that the new system will save

  • @Rudjohns said:

When 2 survivors are left in a hopeless match because there's 2 or more gens left, the whole rest of the match is gonna be even more brutal.

-Can't even die on hook to give your teammate more time for hatch escape. There is a "go next" prevention, probably removing the kobe mechanic. Even if this "mechanic" is deactivated when 2 survivors are left, the killer can still just let you slugged.

-Can't even surrender when you are in the dying state to give your teammate the hatch. The so-called "anti slug surrender option" is only gonna be activated when your teammate is also in the dying state, which means it's pointless for this situation.

-Can't even hide for a chance to escape (you know, the whole point of playing survivor is… escape). There's gonna be a "hiding prevention" too.

It's gonna be amazing guys, can't wait!

My slugging Wraith with Knock Out will love this btw

How about not finding yourself in such a situation? if you 2 left and cannot fix the generators, you have failed, and forcing the killer to run around the map for 20 minutes and look for you is not the most interesting thing

  • @tjt85 said:

I think you're right, though not too many will agree with you. Legion is pretty weak. He's a pure support Killer, with the other Killer having to do all the heavy lifting. Not that balance is important in 2V8, but I think their weakness as a basic attack Killer wholly reliant on their partner to get the majority of cages is what balances them out.

I get that this is a hot take on the forums, but I think they could use some buffs. Frank's Mix tape base-kit would be nice (it should be base-kit anyway) and they could maybe add the Scratched Ruler add-on, so they can get their power back quickly. I don't think BHVR would dare buff them for the next iteration.

It's weird that a nerfed Legion in 2V8 is a problem, but all the other turbo buffed S and A tier Killers aren't? I just don't get it. Say you don't like to Vs a Legion, but don't pretend the other Killers aren't just as ridiculous.

Same, I look at the nurse with 7 addons, and then I look at the forum where people are crying about legion in 2v8

I’m a killer main but I always forget that pyramid head is in the game. Like he is alright but I don’t personally see too much enjoyment from playing him. His addons are literal garbage except the boring range addons. At least nemesis has seratonine injector that makes you undetectable when you kill a zombies. That is fun but the range addons are just so meh. He is a tunnel king but I also don’t like to tunnel on purpose usually it’s because it’s accidental or the stars align. Even when you do cage your missing out on so much stuff like scourge hooks, bbq, pop, thwack (even tho it’s not very good specifically on him) but the point is that a lot of perks come from hooking. Plus it always feels like the cage spawns in front of survivors so pressure goes away. He is a pure chase killer with a strong power but I feel that it’s just spamming until you get the hit. The only hits that feel good are prediction shots with no aura reading. I like build variety with killers and he does not have that. Hope they rework all his addons to do interesting stuff because even if his basekit isn’t my cup of tea he does have a unique good power that I see some people love.

Clown, I literally forgot he existed

Why do you people cling to the 1v4 opinion everytime, they are to be played like a support in 2v8, if you have a friend on comms its very easy to get huge value from their slowdown/information/and everyone being injured. it's getting tiresome seeing you all be so closed minded.

Well Well Well, that is, you want to say that receiving information that they should never have received, but receive through third-party communication is dishonest? Well, this is literally what killers constantly face when playing against survivors swf

  • I think he needs some small QoL changes, but overall he ok

  • @sinkra said:

Based on their stats the escape rate was 45%, which made it much more enjoyable than 1v4 as solo survivor. Then the devs decided to gut survivor classes and add bots which is another massive nerf. Why do the devs want the game to be so easy for killers when survivors are the majority of the playerbase?

The classes literally haven't changed at all, the only thing that has changed is that the survivors received a yellow herb that allows you to cancel 1 hook stage

Plague has an actual skill aspect implemented into her power, Legion is literally just run around and slash, 0 skill floor, 0 skill ceiling. Basically nothing but an M1 killer that just has killer instinct in their power and is just meant to be annoying compared to Plague that actually has strategic counterplay and strategic gameplay from her side.

    Those two are literally incomparable

the plague literally just spits on the generator and now anyone who touches it will spread the disease and expose everyone to an uncurable status, while the plague itself can be on the other end of the map, at this time the legion must run to you, must outsmart you in the pallet mind game and still there is a huge chance that the survivor will simply drop the pallet after the hit and stun him

With all this, the plague has a red liquid that gives power while the legion is just M1, it looks like you're making it absurd like "Trapper is OP and he has no counter game" or you're really that bad at understanding killers

  • I'm wondering how the legion can hit without interacting with the survivor? Your argument indirectly applies to the plague, but not to the legion

  • @Dadeordye said:

Because you aren't listening and talking about what can be made better for the overall experience of them, you're just coming in and being like git gud, then wonder why someone like me loses a bit of their respect for you nor wastes their time discussing with you or the others who come in to be like lmao let me force my opinion as fact?

Legion could be a much more fun character to play as and face, I feel like the support component to them is great accessory to 2v8, but their needs to be more ways to deal with them/a longer power CD like even up to 30 seconds to a minute with how potent it is. or a class that can stun killers to interupt their power or buy time for other survivors to recover, it cannot stand as it is it's not 1v4.

    Because otherwise:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6IJV2JET30BG/image.png

you don't need a class, just drop pallet after being hit, and the fact that you want to give a low c tier killer a cooldown per minute says a lot about your understanding of the game

Because not every killer has to be S tier and I truly believe the game needs to move away from that.

The devs seem to want to make every perk S tier too and it is creating a whole lot of unintended and obnoxious metas. The same as perks, not every killer or perk needs or should be meta.

There is a huge difference between "Make an S tier killer" and give the legion the ability to play at mid-high levels, No one is saying to make it better or at the level of blight, we just want it not to be useless

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

Legion is fine imo, they are a noob stomper much like Dr is too.

The problem with Legion is they are extremely obnoxious to verse and buffing them even further is just going to make them even more frequently played than they already are. Not every killer has to be super strong and thankfully I cannot see BHVR touching Legion anytime soon.

Many killers trample newbies, even an M1 killer will trample newbies simply because they don’t repair generators,The problem is that at middle levels legion already becomes extremely weak, and against swf or high levels, it will not even be able to take advantage of inflicting several wounds, Why do we have a blight with lethality ability, more speed and less penalty for missing, but can't have a viable legion?

I hope: Legion, Skull merchant, Trapper, GF, (Ultra Copium)

  • @Leon_Loves_Cheryl said:

The thing with M1 killers is that even if you're incredibly good at your M1 fundamentals (red light mechanics, making proper predictions, etc.) you're at the mercy of the survivor's resources. You have to break more pallets and walls than you otherwise would if you were playing killers with anti-loop, so you lose time AND kill pressure. It's just *inherently* a weaker kit design.

I don't think M1 killers are unfixable. I think loops are really bad for M1 killers, but if you make loops weaker (less pallets, smaller area, etc.) then you also buff stronger killers and anti-loop killers that don't need it. Best solution is direct kit buffs.

Personally, I actually *like* that Legion becomes a pure M1 killer after using his power. He's unique in that regard and it's honestly a pretty fair trade-off for being able to get essentially a free injured state on the person you're chasing. The problem is that there's very little skill expression in the chase itself since you're at the mercy of pallets and loops. Look at Trickster - he's widely regarded as being ######### despite his insane 1v1 power and powerful anti-loop via his ranged attacks. (Trickster IS weak because DBD is a 1v4 not a 1v1, but that's tangential) So Legion is weaker than even *that.* The problem with Legion is that it doesn't matter how good you are at Legion because skill doesn't invalidate pallets or the length of loops that you need to walk around to land hits. His skill cap is too low, which is a symptom of M1 killers in general and the reason why **almost every single killer released after Twins except Wesker have anti-loop.** If you don't believe me, go look. BHVR CLEARLY KNOWS that M1 is weak.

So I'd rather take direct kit buffs that don't change or alter Legion's identity. He's already far less toxic than he used to be with his most recent rework a few years ago. He doesn't need another rework or any large-scale changes, he just needs a kit refresh. He's outdated. He doesn't need to stun himself for 3 seconds. Lowering it to 2.5 would already make him more lethal in certain areas and make pallet vaulting more viable in a chase rather than just to get from point A to point B during a frenzy chain. He blinds himself way too much compared to Blight. There's no reason for him to not be able to see blood or scratch marks during Frenzy. He just has a lot of weird inhibitors in his kit that don't need to be there. Hell, maybe he deserves to be the first 120% killer - just pure M1 buff with more movespeed so he can mindgame more efficiently. He's just outdated and they need to touch him up.

I've been a Legion main for 4 years so I have very strong feelings about this. He's a relic of the past at this point.

The good news is that all he actually needs are just numbers changes. (At least in my opinion because I like that he's a pure M1 killer.) Nothing large scale or dev-intensive.

The bad news is that BHVR is unlikely to do anything anyway.

In my opinion, it should be possible to see scratches/blood, lowering stun to 2.25s (blight without addons has 2.5s and does not have screen dimming and can sees scratches/blood), increase base frenzy speed to 5.6-5.8, increase the duration of the ability to 12 seconds, but shorten the mending time to 8 seconds, in which case the legion will be able to use their ability more often as an anti-loop/mobility and survivors they won’t put so much effort into mending

  • I'm more inclined to believe that bots are good, in 2v8 sometimes I think how bad this bot plays, I look at the nickname and understand that this is a player, and sometimes I think that this player is running well in the shack, but it turns out to be a bot,and mostly in my games as a survivor, it’s the bots that save me from the hook, ultimately they are much better than weak survivors, but worse than average-high survivors
Even without taking this into account, the average queue for a killer in 2v8 is about 20 minutes, without bots it would be 30-40

  • @tjt85 said:

In theory, if the Killers know what they are doing then it's Killer sided for sure this time around, I think. Between turbo buffed Killers, frequent aura reads and base-kit Discordance, they have all the tools needed to find and down Survivors quickly to get an unstoppable snowball going (though obviously some Killer combinations struggle).

Plus, Survivors are near guarateed to be matched with 2 bots on their team. The bots aren't a total deadweight , but they're still much worse with macro play than most Survivor players and that's a big disadvantage.

But in practice, the games are so chaotic and the skill disparities between players so great, that it could be anyone's game.

I would like to know why you think that the killers are stronger this time, because the killers literally did not receive any upgrades while the survivors received yellow and green herb

  • First was a bit towards survivors, 2 and 3 are absolutely survivors side, the fact that the killer is punished for hooks while the survivor simply touching the herb removes the hook condition is just crazy

  • @ChurchofPig said:

I decided throughout the month of January to take stats on the killers I faced as survivor and survivors I faced as killer and figure out essentially how often they were able to do what they're supposed to do. There were some exceptions, if dedicated servers crashed (because that never happens) way too soon in the match (the match hasn't gone on long enough for a killer to get a kill or 2 gens weren't complete minimum) otherwise it counted as the match ending or (and this is coming up much more often in February because of a Wesker bug), the killer or survivors are clearly abusing bugs to gain an advantage meaning the match wasn't fair. I would also like to add that this data does include matches from Chaos Shuffle, so take that into consideration. Anyways, here's the stats:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/A5IRID5OIHAL/screenshot-2891-29.png

For the Killer Pick and Kill Rates while playing survivor, the data was taken over the course of 117 matches and I somehow managed to never see a Twins or Dredge. Which is weird because Dredge I feel is kind of everywhere. The award of deadliest killer I'm giving to Oni, both him and Pig got 4ks in all their matches but Pig was only seen in 1 match where I faced Oni twice. The award for saintliest killer goes to Onryo because she had a 0% kill rate despite being played. So sad. The most popular killer, surprising absolutely no one after his buff, is Freddy who I saw a total of 10 times with an overall kill rate of 87.5%, only 5 survivors survived him, that's a lot of 4ks. As stated the least popular killers of the month for me were Twins and Dredge, never being faced.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8WY3FPX7VGDS/screenshot-2892-29.png

For the Survivor Pick and Escape Rates while playing killer, the data was taken over the course of 72 matches. The most popular survivor to no one's surprise was Sable Ward, who I saw 37 of, and the least popular was sadly Gabriel Soma who is the only survivor I never saw as killer in January. The survivor with the highest escape rate was Thalita being the only survivor to escape 100% of the time, of course I only ever saw a single Thalita so that doesn't say much. For the survivors who have the highest sacrifice rate, I'll say it's a tie between Nea Karlsson and Cheryl Mason because, although there's a lot of survivors with a 0% escape rate, I saw both Nea and Cheryl 9 times and not one of those 18 survived. Where as most survivors with a 0% escape rate were only see once or twice. Honorable mentions for category of most sacrificed go to Steve Harrington (8/8 sacrificed), Trevor Belmont (7/7 sacrificed), and Ellen Ripley (5/5 sacrificed). At least you were seen. Also shout out to the 2 Lara's that managed to escape. She went almost the entire month with a 0% escape rate until 2 unfortunate matches that were rough. If those matches hadn't happened, Lara would be the survivor with the highest sacrifice rate.

Bhrv took your statistics into account and therefore in the next patch they will nerf the pig, taking away her ability to move

meh, in my games they do 90% of the duties of survivors, namely repairing generators, if you extend chase for at least 30 seconds, probably 6+ survivors will escape without even straining

Would it be a good thing to have an outline on the Survivor when their aura gets revealed like in TCM? So the Survivor knows their aura is revealed and they could play accordingly. distortion literally does this, if the killer did some special action and your token disappeared, then killer has an aura perk/addon

In a world where Nurse and Blight exist in their current state (I am NOT implying they need to be nerfed, rather I'd have everyone else brought up to or near their level) I don't understand why Legion still cannot see scratch marks or blood pools in Frenzy.

It's not necessary for him to have these inhibitors. His power is nonlethal unless he hits EVERYONE which isn't always possible anyway. Making it harder for him to chase survivors in a non-lethal power is just unnecessary.

It's not even going to increase his killrate that much. It's literally just quality of life. There's no reason for him to have these inhibitors in his kit.

Legion remains in the old dbd, for example screen dimming and slowdown for unknown reason is stronger than that of blight, Legion needs a pack of quality of life improvements or a buff (preferably both)

    • Next patch notes are delivered to #DBDPartners one day early. They also have PTB access one day early. They re-do what they did yesterday with it.
    • BHVR makes #DBDPartners sign a contract that says no videos/tweets/leaks can be posted until after the official release at X time on Y date.
    • Content creators have a dedicated BHVR employee they can contact and ask questions BEFORE they make videos and publish them online. This will reduce so much confusion in the community. A big reason why players have questions is because the people we watch are confused and we parrot that.
    • Rewarding the people who keep their head up high and act with grace sends the right message to other content creators in the space to BEHAVE.

I think this is a big +, firstly it brings the community closer together, secondly it fuels interest in the game, thirdly it allows content makers to interact more with bhvr and, in THEORY, correct any errors with the voice of experienced players

People give up just bc can, recently I go SM and the first hook was #########, This is literally a meme killer without power, but some survivors are so big kids that ######### just like that, the funny thing is that in that match 3 survivors escaped, so yes the reason is that some survivors go next with any minor factor

  • It’s strange that no one noted this, but level 1 of the perk also reduces the risk of a bug, since it’s easier to work with 1 characteristic than with 3

  • if I have to wait in que not 30 but 15 minutes, then 2 bots in a match is not a problem, The problem is deeper, even if the survivors in this mode win 100% of their games, it still won’t help the online, game since the survivors’ side essentially remains unchanged, while the killers’ side gets a completely new gameplay, so in my opinion bhvr needs to stop just pumping survivors with steroids and start thinking deeper
P.S. I misclicked on It's good they're here. instead of This is a good workaround, but there must be some other feature that will fix this.

it is definitely not a feature, thats like saying discord calls w/ ur swf is a feature. Its a bug or its not vinilla dbd, similiar to dpi enhancements on mouse and keyboard as well, its technically a competitive advantage, therefore, cheating.

Discord calls aren't smth they can do anything abt, which is why they should just have an in game vc.

And so we have to break the knees of all non-console players because PCs are a little better at playing Oni. But with exactly the same logic (at the same time swf gets many times more bonuses) we shouldn’t do anything with swf? This is hypocrisy, we either solve both problems or we don’t hypocrisy choose something one

People who say SWF is not a problem and an excuse for a killer ccant have their head straight. How would it be playing WoW Arena without coms? Counterstrike without being able to call out bases? The amount of information you get from SWF is more than any perk in the game and arguably more than all perks combined.

I play ghostface as a main and when i face a sweaty SWF i got some super looper on me following me around the map and if i were to turn he will bring me to like the loop in coldwindfarm that you cannot win against while telling his teammates, its okay i got the killer on the other side of the map you can calmly do the gens over there.

And then oh, The killer decided to leave me at this god tier loop he is coming towards shack now so it would be a good idea if you leave unles you are almost done , you got plenty of time he is mid map atm, going in right side btw so be ready with the pallet if he is indeed going there. Ill be following him around so he cannot go stealth for minute of this game no problemos.

The difference is that in CS and other games communication is built into the game and is not limited in any way, in dbd communication is specifically disabled, playing dbd in swf is the same as playing among us where the dead player just says who killed him

Since it's a hot topic, I figured it may be good to open the flood....er....SLUG GATES!

I don't play as survivors very often, but I've probably dont seen a slug in the last 30 games

    …I'm a little confused, sorry.

Are you saying the issue isn't Unbreakable at all but is actually Power Struggle…?

Because Power Struggle is completely unchanged here, the scenario you're describing in this post is someone who has Flip Flop + Power Struggle so whenever they're left on the floor they can charge up Power Struggle.

Unless you're saying that they pick themselves up and then drop the pallet on you, in which case, 10 seconds isn't long enough to do that even with the current tools, let alone the tools I'm suggesting.

I'm genuinely not sure what you're saying here, I apologise. Could you elaborate?

The problem is all at once, if the killer goes after survivor number 2 (note that yourself suggested)during this time, survivor number 1 will already get up and either he or survivor number 3 can come to the help of survivor number 2 so on until the palettes run outthe second case is if you decide to drive away survivor number 2 but not pursue him (there is still a chance that he will quickly return and blind/throw off the palette) and survivor number 1 will charge Power Struggle during this time

And most importantly, all this punishes precisely that the killer who wants to go on hooks, but the killer who wants to slug just down each survivor 6/7 times

If you really want to solve this problem, you shouldn't create situations in which the killer loses no matter what he does, and you shouldn't make it even more difficult for the killer to go on hooks.

English is not my native language, but you should get at least 1 meaning, the anti-slug should not interfere with killers who go on hooks more than slug killers

Well, if you think the survivor's going to Shift W you just… wouldn't take that chase? You'd harass them away and then go back to the down you already have.

Also, it's 45 seconds, not 32. Unbreakable wouldn't change the self pickup timer with my changes, the only thing that'd let you bypass that number is Exponential.

    THIS IS THE PROBLEM!
If you spend 10 seconds to drive away a survivor with a firecracker, then during this time the survivor on the ground will already charge the perk and, when you try to pick it up, will drop a palette on you

1 2 3 4 5 … 15
